Dennis worked very hard to get me the best deal on replacing all 4 tires on my Dodge Neon and kept me updated on the progress. They were very busy so it took a long time but I never felt like they forgot about me.
Let me tell you, this place has a professional service, i mean wow!! Very friendly staff. Ralph at the Cold Spring location is amazing. He has mounted several sets of my race tires for my Miata Spec car and today he was the only one I trusted to mount a set of four Pirelli P Zeros on my Mclaren. He is professional, competent and highly skilled to solve any mechanical issues. My car was too low for the lift arms, he solved the problem with calmness, intelligence and ingenuity. He also mounted a new front tire on my friends Aston Martin DB11, which got trashed from hitting the sidewall on a sharp curb. Ralph will forever be our go-to guy for all of our cars.
Just got back from a 3day road trip and they took us in first thing in the morning new oil change, tire rotation, tire inspection all the work and the inspection, thanks to the manager he took us in and gave us that perfect customer care thank you Kurt for taking care of us.

Mavis Tires in Cold Spring has been extremely helpful this past week. I got one car smog test completed quickly, then brought another car into them for a set of tires, they matched the price I found and had them installed on our car the following day. Then, I got a flat tire on our third vehicle last week, the car was flatbed moved to Mavis and they helped me with the replacement tire. They are quick, convenient and very nice. Callout to Jose, who was super patient and professional with vehicle 2 & 3, Tyler who helped with #2 and Rob who helped with vehicle #1 and 2. Phew. I hope I dont need to go back though, the B&L bakery next door is dangerously good...
Used Mavis 3 times in the past few months. They took fantastic care of me and were very friendly. Got in and out quickly. One time I brought in an oddball tractor wheel that they dont normally service. Jonathan and Liam did their best to help and saved me a lot of headache. Great job!

I was driving home from work and my car was making a clunking sound, thinking my car will break down if I continued to drive I stopped by this place and with no hesitation they lifted my car to see what was wrong with it. They told me it was my axle and that I needed a new one. They told me I was good to drive and that my car wont break down or anything. They were helpful in identifying the issue since it was Sunday and all the other mechanic shops were closed.

Went to Mavis yesterday in a Cold Spring, previously (Putnam Tire), had to get an oil change and inspection, excellent experience, manager Jonathan professional and knowledgeable, rotated the tires as he advised to maintain good and even ware and tear and increase longevity of tires. Driving seat covered with plastic cloth to protect and tech wore gloves .In and out in 40 minutes, had not been in to Mavis in a while as the prior staff not very nice and wait was too long. Maritza was tech, knowledgeable young lady and very professional.Glad to be able to return to my favorite auto needs place again.
Called them at 3:00 on a Sunday. They close at 5:00. Got my tires done. Other Mavis locations dont do that.

The worker told us five different tires we could get and the price points but couldn’t explain the difference between them other than that they had different prices. Brah, you are a TIRE SHOP how can you not explain the differences in your products??Also, the guy said he didn’t know what type of tires we had on our car even though he literally had just inspected them.The interaction just went downhill after that, and the worker became extremely rude. We decided to just leave and go to the Mavis location in Beacon. The entire experience was night and day. Just drive up to Beacon if you have tire issues.

The service at Mavis in Cold Spring was great. Jon and his technician did great work at a fair price. Seemed more like a mom and pop mechanic than a chain.
I was on my way to a party and i got a nail on my tire they were able to patch up my tire pretty fast so I wouldn’t be so late to my great grandfather’s 95th birthday party and i had the cake and my family members were waiting for me with the cake , thanks kurt so much for getting me in on so short notice and while being so busy and short staff i will definitely be coming back.

I really appreciate the great service I got from Mavis Discount Tire in Cold Spring. I got a nasty flat in the middle of the night and had my car towed there over the weekend. They were so helpful, kind, and patient. Ultimately, they didnt have the tire that my dealership requires my leased car carry, so they put my spare on for me, free of charge. Very grateful for their kindness and professionalism. And a special shout out to Luke!

I go there all the time and the last time I went I was there because of a turning signal light was out. They fixed it right on the spot signed off on my ticket paper work and everything was good to go. These guys get right to the point and fix things!!!!

I was a bit nervous taking my Tesla to a non-Tesla service station when it came time for my annual inspection, but these guys did a great job. They demonstrated their experience with Teslas. Very pleased!
Dropped off the car at 11am, needed 2 new tires & brakes done, simple stuff. Was assured I would have it back same day. Called them at 4:30pm to check on progress, they hadnt even begun to look at the car. Got a call 30mins later saying they didnt have the parts, that it was too late to get them and car wouldnt be ready till maybe Monday.
Complete and utter amateurs. Have received vehicles with large scratches that they tried to get away with without mentioning, bumpers scuffed up, plugs that don’t hold up, and most recently they took the liberty of ripping off both my inspection sticker and registration when my vehicle was simply dropped in for a flat tire to be replaced. I’m not big on leaving negative reviews, but there is a clear pattern and I’m purely trying to help people steer clear. Absolute disgrace of an establishment. Harassing people about “negative” (8 out of 10 mind you) reviews...
I have been to many Mavis locations. I wish I can give Mavis a 5 because they have never ripped me off or anyone i referred to them. Unfortunately, they will always be a 4. This is because good service all depends on the individual Store Manager and the techs he has working under him and the sales volume of the particular location. Busy sites usually have employees who are stressed and could care less. Other locations are slow and can get you in and out quicker but, there too it always come down to the staff and how seriously they take their jobs. Their prices are always fair but they can charge you more than what they have quoted online for a particular tire so buyer beware. Again, it comes down to the individual store Manager and if he or she knows how to deliver great customer service.

Ive been going to Putnam Tire, now Mavis, for 20 years and have always had a good experience. The staff are helpful and friendly, they never give bad advice, the service rates are reasonable, the tire recommendations are excellent, and I have always felt appreciated. I recommend Mavis to my friends and family.

I came here for a oil change and a battery replacement. I was helped by Jonathan,I got great service and they got the job done quickly and efficiently.if I could give them 10/5 I would, highly recommend this place 👍
The service was basically good and efficient, but there were a couple of fairly minor problems. When I first called I was told the tires for my car were in stock and I could come in anytime in the next week. When I arrived first thing the next morning the tires were not in stock and wouldnt arrive until later that day. The price for tires and installation didnt include taxes and fees, so it cost about $30 more. Neither issue was major, however, but thats why I didnt give them five stars. I know they offer other automotive services, but Mavis wouldnt be my first choice for anything but tires.
Dec 2020 update.Been using Mavis for years, service this time was excellent. Jonathan was very clear on timeframe and apprised me of my service options. Tina did an outstanding job reviewing the bill with me.
On Saturday, March 7, I needed a tire immediately as I use my car for my business and had hit a pot hole the night before. Juan, the manager, located the tire I needed in the companys warehouse and had it delivered by 11am. It was mounted and balanced by 12 noon. He is great. I have been dealing with him at the Fishkill location for a couple of years. Juan was just transferred to Cold Spring and while I would recommend Mavis to anyone, if you can, go to the Cold Spring location as Juan is great and honest about what you need and the cost.
I went to the mavis in cold spring and I was told while getting air in my tires that the rear tires looked a little more worn, so I stopped in and got 2 new tires in the rear for the winter to be safe , I was helped by Liam(who I believe should get a raise) and will keep on coming back here for the great service he provided, as I waited I got to talk to mike ( glorified tire tech) and Johnny-boy (store manager), overall they were a great team and hope to continue doing business with them.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. This is purely my experience but I will never recommend this place. Scheduled 10a appointment and dropped the car off at 8a - figure might help them with their day I was off that day anyway. Work was to rotate tires and front brake pads. Called a little after 12p to check and was told - next car - once lift empty it will be next. I get a call at 2:30p - where is the wheel lock key - so much for 10:30a. Apologize for not having out - say it is in the glove compartment. I get a call @ 4p - there is an issue with your tie rods and we will need to replace them... what do you mean - there is play in the tie rods - strange no driving issues prior to bringing in... How much - $300+ and change for each side - need to do both sides? We recommend both sides. Was not expecting that - please just change the pads and we will need to schedule the tie rods later. Brake repair will be $300+ - I ask for what? We need to replace the rotors. Really - told him I checked the rotors before bringing them in and they were fine. Well we recommend changing the rotors... see the theme - up selling... they may make noise - thats okay just do the pads. Oh sorry but we do not have the pads in stock - well have them tomorrow morning... - are you serious had the car all day and never even thought about ordering the pads... Finally pick the car up next day and slight shudder in the front now - was not there when I brought in. No longer trust the Mavis Tire Cold Spring - brought it to another repair shop in Fishkill and turns out the wheels needed to be re-balanced... and a drive axle replaced. The replacement of the drive axle was $100 part $110 for the install. Tires re-balanced and car drives like normal again.You choose but clearly things are not kosher and I will never use again. They wanted me to spend nearly $1,000 for my visit. CONSUMER BEWARE.Forgot to add - as they were ringing me up they wanted to charge for the tire rotation - wait that is free because I bought the tires form you. Brake pads will be $150 what the coupon says $99. That doesnt include install - pull up on phone - Pads and Install - yeah NEVER AGAIN.Check out picts of grease on seat and door...
I came to Mavis back in February with my girlfriend and I wasnt going to write this but what happened there is still really upsetting to me. We really liked the girl who greeted us. However the kid who worked on my car wasnt as pleasant. While in the waiting room I heard him cursing alot and saying really disgusting things. I then see the same tall kid with dreads whip our car into the front parking space. I came outside to ask him about my tire pressure and he completely blew me off. So my girlfriend standing in the doorway tried to ask him once again and he literally rolled his eyes at her. We paid for our service and left. I was really appalled. I couldnt believe that just happened. I never had bad experience like this at that location before. He was just straight up rude. Definitely will not go there again.
Long wait in the cold to have a tire replaced, but Chris, (the manager?) was extremely courteous and supportive.
Just got new tires put on my truck and today when I woke up to go to work, 2/4 tires were totally flat. Didnt feel confident with the attendant at first, but went ahead anyway. Make sure you know what you want to get before going here.

Worst customer service that Ive even see..Scheduled a front end alignment the privious day..for 10:00 am..Was told when I got there that thier alignment machine was broken and they could not do it..Said it was supposed to be fixed last night..No phone call in the morning asking to resheduled..No Im sorry for the inconvenience..No offer to call if they can do it later in the day..Just we cant do it.. Will never use them again

Had a broken valve stem, it was an emergency. I live all the way in Danbury Connecticut so getting stuck in Cold Spring was not a real good option. They got me in and out in under a half an hour.

2022-02-04I called around all day and was desperate to replace a tire that I just destroyed on a pot hole. Mavis had the exact tire I needed and offered to put it on same day! This was the quickest and most affordable quote I received today. I also give them five stars for their wonderful customer service.

2022-03-08This was the greatest experience I’ve ever encountered with Mavis Discount Tire. The professionalism and courtesy were top notch. I scheduled an online appointment and was seen earlier. I felt confident with the updates I received regarding my vehicle. I was informed that I didn’t need new wiper blades, talk about honesty and I received a discount on my oil change, very competitive. I travel up to an hour to this Cold Spring location. I will continue to bring my vehicle to get all the services this location offers. Best in the business that I’ve seen.

2022-07-16I came into the shop to get an inspection done after working an overnight. The crew were all friendly and very knowledgeable. Behind the counter, there is a gentleman, Denis. We talked things related to law enforcement. As person who works in the field, it was very nice talking to him and how much he, along with the crew respects all first responders. I recommend others to go to this location for good service and a good set of ethics.

2022-07-17I had a situation with my mom and needed to help her out while she was hospitalized. Mavis took care of my issues as soon as I walked in the door and explained the situation. 2022-06-04I currently reside in Cortland Manor and people say everything happens for a reasonCold Springs location wasnt my first choice but now I will not be going elsewhere else for my automotiveneeds.Dennis and Kurt and team were most welcoming, professional and well encouraged.They acknowledged my military service and treated me with the utmost respect. 2022-03-03Kurt the manager really helped me out! I came in for a squeak in my breaks but coming to find out I needed struts and shocks!. At the time I really didn’t have money but Kurt suggested the Mavis credit card, I was happy before they even begin to do Maintenance to the car he asked if I wanted to proceed with the credit card to see if I was approved. That made me comfortable with the service because most place just do the work. luckily I was approved and granted the guys to go ahead to proceed in doing what was actually needed to be done. Not only Kurt helped me to what was wrong, he also helped me when it comes to future maintenance that needs to be done but nothing that was in warning. I’ve been coming to Mavis ever since I got a car and will forever choose Mavis! Thank you Kurt and the guys in the back

2022-05-06This Mavis location is perfect. I made a last minute appt for an alignment on my 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon with over 250k miles on it. Usually, these cars are bait for every shop to raise all kinds of issues due to the: age/mileage/etc... I honestly wasnt bothered once while waiting. Dennis rang me up, applied a discount that I didnt mention & all of the other people working there were really respectful. If youre in the area and have tire/alignment issues, go here. My car is driving amazing now...
