Terrible experience. Worst part , manager didnt even care.Came in a 7:30 am and waited outside till 8 am so they open. This is what was suggested the prior day, even though I made an appointment a week before. I get there and the tire was not available. No big deal, I was willing to pay more just cause I was going on a long distance trip the next day. Before anything I made sure they can finish by 2pm because I had to pick up my child from school. They said that will be no problem. It was 1:40 and I called to check on status. They didnt even start yet, I ask will it be ready by 2.. he says how can i get a tire done in 20 min... ... and just hangs up the phone..
Absolutely unprofessional !Dont have filter to do oil change, what else can we expect, My vehicle was on lift for more than an hour waiting for filter. Can management fix this issue as staff keeps on saying -i dont control it my system does Blame everything on system and dont move a muscle is the attitude of staff at this location. I wish they are no longer in business with such rude and unprofessional staff on front end.i dont want to give even 1 star but i doesnt allow me to remark.Stay away from this location.
I have been meaning to write this review about Mavis Discount Tires for some time now, but just got around to doing so.I have purchased tires from Mavis many times, and have always had pleasant experiences. But I really wanted to recognize Ali, who said she works at the Huntington, NY Mavis, but was just helping out at the Deer Park, NY location the day I visited.When I got to the store, it was almost closing time, so I was the only customer in the waiting area.Ali began to tidy up the area, and made a few changes to the seating area, while engaging in a friendly conversation with me; which I enjoyed. It made my waiting less boring.She also gave me a tip, on how I could save money when I purchased my tire.Thanks Ali.
Mavis of Deer Park is awesome. The staff was friendly, professional and engaging. They were ready for me when I arrived at my scheduled time and I was out much faster than anticipated. Definitely recommend Mavis of Deer Park.
I usually come here for my inspections and even oil changes but they tell you a price on the phone and when you come to pay is always 20 dollars over!!Today I had a reservation for and inspection which only takes like 10 minutes and he told me if I was able to drop off! Like seriously I had a reservation and an inspection takes only 10-15 minutes at the most!That is always and issue the time and prices!!!
Utmost rude and disrespectful to their customer. I was quoted by call center for full synthetic oil change for 39.99. Went to workshop and had that done. I was told it would take two hours but ended up taking almost 5 hours. When came to pay I was told to pay 78 and change. Kim the assistant manager called around when i explained what i was quoted. She stated the lowest she could go was 50 but didnt even honor that when i tried to elaborate on how i should be given what i was quoted for. Worse! She said she will keep the car for the night if i dont agree to pay asked price! Moreover, no receipt of the payment was provided but thankfully i have it on my bank statement! It was A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE! Stay away!
Excellent staff. I was kept informed of my vehicles progress numerous times and given an ETA on when it would be done. It was ready a few minutes earlier than expected, which was great! I was not overcharged or taken advantage of like many other repair shops try to do.Excellent experience!
Carlos and Justin are the best managers on Long Island. Saul and Peter are two of the best mechanics on the island. So then at that point looking for a shop to get your car fixed is a no-brainer you might as well bring it here.Youre treated like family and get on with your day because these guys are fast and theyll get you in and out of the shop and you wont feel your wallet get any lighter.Love these guys.
Overall I had a great experience at Mavis at this location in Deer Park, I have been using Mavis for years, but my first time to this location. Everything went smooth, I felt they were honest and were not pushy with needing unnecessary things for my vehicle. Stan was very courteous, calm, patient, and provided great customer service. I will definitely be back to take care or my vehicle needs in the future.
Not bad. Got all my tired fixed for a good price. Asking an appointment is no faster then a walk in though. Staff is nice and walking distance from all the food if you need a bite while you wait

Went in there on a whim because of my car getting a flat. Went in there thinking it was a bad day and left having a good day needed an oil change as well and did everything there. What a stress free experience thanks to everyone who helped me!

I had a WONDERFUL experience at this location, from the friendly person working at the counter, to Carlos, who did a wonderful job taking care of my cars tire needs!I cracked a rim, and, when the replacement comes in, Ill be back for Carlos and his team to swap over my tire and get me back to all five full sized wheels.
Excellent professional service, greeted by Stan, he was courteous and professional, explained what was going to be done, and gave an accurate ETA for when work was to be completed. I have been going to this Mavis for years. Justin the manager there is extremely helpful, honest, and an all around good guy. The techs such as Pete, have always gone above and beyond to assist me. Extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable. This is the location which will NOT oversell you like many other tire retailers and prices are very reasonable . Stan was really helpful in selection of tires for my 2009 Subaru Impreza. Although you dont change tires very often but this would be my go to place whenever I need to.

Rarely have tires in stock that you need. Odd being that its a tire spot.
Terrible place to get repairs. People that work there are unqualified to do their jobs. The word appointment means nothing to them. If someone makes a appointment they still take people before you. Be warned before you go their. If you care about your time and ur vehicle DO NOT GO THERE.

I went to Mavis on 9/20/20 for an inspection. I made an appointment the day before and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The staff is great and personable. The service is quick and thorough.

This location is absolute trash! Had an appointment to get 4 new tires, I come to drop off my car and I’m told they can’t do them because corporate over booked!! Kid was no help and a complete loser.

I feel cheated by even having to give this place one star. There customer service is horrible. I came here on this pass Sunday with my two kids. I had a flat tire so first I went to the gas station next door to put air as I did not know Mavis gives free air. When I got to my tire I could hear the air coming out so I drove next door to the Mavis. At this point it was 4:47 EXACTLY. When I got out my car the first person I spoke to which was a mechanic said he was not sure if he could plug the tire for me or change it because he was busy. Then the gentleman working inside told me that “ I’ve been trying to close for the last 20 mins plus I have these other people to service, Sorry.” Then he just walked away from me. Correct me if I’m wrong but you don’t close until 5. While I understand it was close to that time I’m still a customer one who had children with her at that. And it would have only taken a few minutes to plug my tire. Absolutely the most disrespectful and rudest treatment I’ve ever gotten. Because it was a nail that punctured my tire the pressure was dropping in minutes and I had to stop and put air three different times before I got home where my husband could change it for me. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
My visit at this location was smooth. Their service superb, timely, and professional. Stanley (staff) was very professional and i will continue to come to this location if they continue to have staff like Stanley! I was very happy and satisfied.
Terrible experience today.Went there yesterday, Saturday, around 3pm and they were extremely busy and could not do an oil change. No problem. They told me to come in as soon as they open tomorrow (Sunday @ 9am) and they would get me right in.I arrived at 850am and waited for them to come in. I was 3rd in line to be checked out and was told they needed to order oil and a filter for my car as it was specialized and they did not stock it. No problem. The manager, young guy named Sergio, said he should be able to get them from one of his several suppliers in 20-30 mins from when the order is placed.At 945ish, he finally started calling the suppliers (he said he wanted to deal with the other customers before he called and that I needed to be patient as he wasnt suppose to be by himself). #1, he should have made the 2 min phone calls while he was helping me before helping other customers after me....instead of making me wait 45 mins. #2 one supplier didnt have the product and the other needed to order them, in which they would not have it until 2pmI ended up leaving, being told by Sergio that he would call me around 2-230pm when he got the stuff and would Squeeze me right in.I never received a call. I call them at 310pm when I leave my appt. and he said great timing, Im just calling them now to see whats going on. Why was this call not made at 2pm or 215pm!!!???He then said they supplier said he never placed the order and they still do not have my oil and filter.Terribly ran location...in which I have been going for years. Not sure why they leave a young kid in charge who is not capable of taking care of a customer in MANY ways. And then complains to me and other customers that he is overwhelmed that he was LEFT by himself.I suggest A LOT MORE Training is in order!Will never go back again!PS- Freddy in the Farmingdale location is very accomodating.
This has to be the greatest shop around, I swear by this shop and this shop alone. Carlos the manager is the best in the business. If you value your car this is the shop to go to.

As an OLDER AGED WOMAN I find going to Deer Park Mavis to be great. Even though Ive come a few times & each time different employees. They have ALL been honest and professional with me. Speaking for myself, there has been no gimmicks to get more money from this client. I will continue to use the services of this location. Thank you Deer Park Mavis.
Ive been a Mavis customer for many years now. Over the years whether tires, shocks, struts, brakes or simply annual vehicle inspections; Mavis and particularly the staff at Deer Park (Glen Adorno and his crew) have been great. Both the products and the service are top shelf. With so many outfits promising low prices and great service, around town; I highly suggest you give these guys the opportunity to serve your needs. You wont be disappointed.
What’s the point of making an appointment if you guys are going to take walk ins anyways ?? I had an appointment but I was told to just drop off my car because it’ll be a long wait due to walk ins... shouldn’t you accept people with appointments before walk ins ?? Not coming back.
Fabulous experience yet again! The staff at this place are clearly attentive, caring, well qualified, and honest. When I need something done, they define exactly what it is and get it done at a very fair price. And when I dont need something done, they say so. I love an honest mechanic. Thanks agin😊
Called to see how much they charge to change brakes if i was bringing them the parts (rotors and pads), had the audacity to tell me nearly $700. Must be out they damn minds! Even tried ripping me off when i brought a car in for an inspection last year, tried to act like i HAD to change my tires with them or they wouldnt let the car leave, even tho the other shop i brought it to said my tires were fine to pass. Prime example of why mechanics and auto shops get a bad rep. Only reason Id bring a car in to them is an oil change, but now probably not even that...stay woke to their tactics.
A breath of fresh air from those oil change while you wait places that show you your dirty filters and try to compel you to purchase any extras they can get you to. Have never felt the auto mechanic ripoff here. Staff are polite and the ability to schedule appointments online is convenient.

I liked it enough that Ill probably bring my car back for more work in the future even though I am in Brooklyn and its not at all convenient. Thank you for a great customer service experience.

Brought my car there it had a nail in the tread. Got some young guy who took one look at my car oh you have a brand new 2017 took a look at the nail said oh youre going to need a new tire. First Im not an idiot it was no where the side wall it was on the tread I told him not to touch my car. Went some where else they patched it for $25. What kind of company are you running where you hire people who are looking to rip off honest hard working families to make a quick buck. I will never recommend your company to anyone bunch of rip offs.

My pregnant wife had a flat tire on the LIE (495) and was towed by a gentleman who brought her to this shop. A staff member yelled at them because they were closing and they needed to move the truck out of the way since he couldnt close the door. This person was rude to a potential customer for no reason at all. Admittedly, the tow driver got overly frustrated with the guy but this could have been avoided with some bare minimum human decency. I told my wife to go somewhere else (which also was closing) and they allowed my wife to leave the car there overnight to be attended first thing in the morning. Very disappointing and would suggest anyone going there not to go if you are 30 minutes before posted closing time.
Went in at around 2:30 asking Glen to put 2 rear tires on for me. Got my car back a few hours later, no fuss. I recommend this Mavis branch to everybody. Glen is very courteous & professional.
Ive had nothing but problems with them. The first time I brought in my car for a flat tire/ slow leak, they said there was no problem. There was. Another mexganme found a giant nail in my tire and said therrth no way they could have missed it, they never bothered to look. Fast forward a year later, I bring in my car for the same problem, had to leave the car overnight, paid to have a flat repair on two tires, and had the low air pressure light come back on in less than 24 hours. They didnt do anything again!!! But this time charged me for it. I will never ever return. They are either completely incompetent or just dont even bother to look and lie about it.
The best shop hands down. Honest and trustworthy. Ask for Carlos or Justin they will do right by you and make sure the job is done right!!!

I went to get my car inspection. They told me didn’t passed it because rotors rust on the inner part of it. To fix it will cost me around $300.00 I told them no!!I took the car to another mechanic it was perfectly okBe careful with you money in this place
Had an issue with squeaking noise from rear drum brakes. Job was done at Mavis a year ago. Spoke to the manager, Glenn Adorno on Thurs.11/10/16 on the phone and briefly described my issue and he said bring the vehicle in first thing Fri. 11/11/16. Got there early and when I told him what I was there for, he said he had no qualified mechanic to work on drum brakes and that I would have to come back at another time-next week. I asked him why didnt he tell me this when we spoke on the phone? I wouldnt have taken the day off. He said he doesnt remember me. At no point did he apologize-in fact, he was quite dismissive. Funny thing is, my whole family has been regular customers at this particular Mavis. My daughter was in the process of buying all new tires for $500.00 from them, but forget that now. If he would have just taken 30 seconds to express some sort of remorse and apologize, then maybe I would have understood that these things do happen. Guess I wasnt worth his time and effort.Since I already took the day off, I immediately went over to STS on Long Island Ave and saw Neal Levine, the manager. I explained what happened at Mavis.He said no problem-they checked the brakes, and all it needed was an adjustment and cleaning, which was what I figured. An accumulation of brake dust. He did not charge me because he genuinely felt bad for what happened to me with Mavis. My family and I will be going to STS from now on, where the manager and mechanic(Milton)seem to really care about their customers.As a mechanic hobbyist, I find it baffling that a repair shop does not have a qualified mechanic to check a basic component on a vehicle- I can understand if it was a specialized job like a tranny overhaul. This leads me to suspect that Mavis in Deer Park could be good at selling/installing tires, but any repair/check which requires general automotive knowledge, i would be very wary now....
Had leak on tire fixed , very polite
Went here because of knocking sound on my Dodge Charger. They changed the struts and my car still made the sound. After that they changed idler arms still made the sound. Then they changed the control arms and put the them on the wrong sides which made it dangerous for me to drive. After that they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it after I spent 2000$ on everything with them. They couldn’t figure out they put the parts on the wrong side so I brought it to another mechanic and they spotted the problem right away and fixed it.
Stan was amazing! Very courteous and knowledgeable. Stan walked me through the whole process and the work was done in a very timely manner.
Had a set of tires installed on 6/18/14. Mike Lavelle handled everything in a courteous and helpful manner. All went very well. Excellent service and I recommend this shop to all.
Very friendly staff who will try to work with you on any of the problems with your car. They also are very quick and thorough and who charge at a good rate. In terms of of any cons there are non to speak of.

Went to get Nys inspection and I was told they are too busy to do it. I’m pretty sure if I was getting my tires replaced they wouldnt say that. Since it was inspection and they don’t really make money on it so they were too busy. Filing a complaint with Nys Dmv for refusing to do the inspection.
This is the best mavis ive been to, for 3 years now. they listen to you, they genuinely care, fast service, nice friendly staff. they also work with you on prices. i went to the one is bayshore on sunrise highway and its just a bunch of Aholes. deer park mavis is my go to mavis from now on.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Glenn obviously is making decisions for Mavis is CERTAINLY not the right choice for emergency flat repairs. The leak was inside the tread of a brand new Cooper tire, not even on the wall, I even called ahead for service got enough air to make it there...sent me away with the leak only to get stuck on deer park ave, had to get help on the road. Called back to ask why he would do that and said he was too busy made up a story about sidewall leak...so please be weary while Glenn is in charge of this mavis. Poor decisions for the safety of their clients. I expect a company like this will evaluate this person in chargeUPDATE brought car to Mr Tire on new york ave and they patched the flat for $15.00 threw them $20 because i was in and out in 20min. was not cut on sidewall. Thanks Glenn for leaving us stranded

I bought new tires for my Prius a year and a half ago, recently visiting the Toyota dealer for a low tire pressure light on, they told me was due to a nail on the wall of a tire, cant be fixed a new tire will be 160 $, went back to Mavis they fixed for 21$ including tax!

I didnt use them this time. I went there because their use yourself air pump is free and has an electronic pressure gauge that you set your desired pressure and it stops pumping air when it reaches that number.

Worst service EVER! Been client for years, never been lied to like this . Gabe the manager told me they are taking my car now, as we speak - because I had things to get done and it was already after 3pm, mind you I took it in early and was told about 2 hours..so I needed my car for the weekend, not only did they waste my entire day, could have went elsewhere- now I gotta rent a car for the weekend!Gabe, you lied to me, disrespected me and lost my account.. all five of us.. A little honesty goes a long way!!

2022-02-01Called in the morning, the man on the phone was very polite, I told them I needed tires and rear brakes. Was able to get in same day (when the other Mavis told me that they would take days to get me in bc my tires are so big they dont keep them in stock)which was great!! I arrived around 345 pm and my car was done by 530. They even gave me an essential worker discount. They were kind, fast, professional, and didnt try to sell me on extra stuff which I loved. I highly recommend.

2022-05-01They do not have care for the customers, nor their cars. They will try and fix the issue at the time, but will leave you with other problems, case in point a quick puncture repair caused my car to display high tire pressure on all 4 tires. The manufacturer instructions located on the door panel of EVERY car states how much to air to fill the tires. I had 1 tire with a puncture and they filled all my tires up to 50 PSI, which itself is a hazard since all tires have a warning not to operate them at or around 50 PSI. My tires have a manufacturers sticker indicating optimal pressure at 30 PSI. This is complete lack of care and /or knowledge from the shop and the technicians they hire.Secondly, all tires when mounted have a specific lug nut torque specification, but these technicians put the pneumatic gun on the lug nut after hand tightening it, and run the gun for a few seconds. The gun has a torque spec of at least 400 Ft. Lbs, but most/all cars have a max spec to be tightened to 100-120 Ft. Lbs. Therefore it becomes near impossible to open the lug nuts in case of an emergency to change it out with a spare.

2022-07-03Waste of time. Completely disorganized. Went to set an appointment the day before. Was told to come back early because I’d have to wait online. Why wouldn’t have to wait online if I made an appointment. Decided to leave my car over night. Called next day at 11:30 (my appmnt was for 9)to be told my car wasn’t going to be worked on until two days later! So after speaking to someone else, they agreed my car would be next. 2pm rolls around and we call to be told the car is in and on the lift, but they don’t have anyone to work on it right now, but that someone would come in shortly. 4pm I call them back and they said they were trying to call me bc my car has wheel locks on them and they aren’t in the car (that’s not their fault)It turned out that they had my appointment under a different persons name and phone number, which is why I had so many problem to begin with.

2022-05-12I needed an oil change they close at 8:30pm. They have one guy working at the moment but what does that have to do with me. So I drove all the way over here for no reason and I have to go back home with a shaking car.

Communication between co-workers and customer is key at this Mavis so the job is done right. I was blown away at the service and attention to detail. They have made a loyal customer out me!
