Went in for rear brakes and through a real consultation and conversation got other actually needed work done and was very Happy with the end result as they took care of a few minor things that could’ve been a problem while doing the main job.I don’t know what to say other than if you want to be treated with respect and professionalism this is the location for you !Thank You for making sure my car is safe for my family !

Craig was the employee who helped me out. He was very professional, and honest about what I needed. I had my brake pads, rotors, and caliper hardware done and my brakes are back to feeling brand new. I would recommend coming here.
The guys were great, Im dealing with a deadline issue and not a lot of extra money to spare on a set of tires cause our roads are so bad they almost blew out the side of my tire. They helped me out and got it done just before they were due to close, really appreciate the service.

I came in the morning to have a flat tire repaired. I was told I needed a new tire which was not in stock and has to come from the warehouse. The tire was supposed to come in the afternoon. Fortunately, I got a call the tire was in. It was still morning! I had left my flat tire at the shop. My new tire was on the rim and waiting for mounting when I returned to the store. I wasnt expecting such fast and efficient service. Thanks to the management and staff, I will remain a loyal customer.
Andrew and Dennis were absolutely wonderful!!! They went out of their way for a good portion of their day to not only find and go get my new tires, but they went above and beyond to help me affordably replace all 4! My father (who isn’t easily moved or impressed) was SO impressed when we left and was raving about them. I am so pleased, and I will definitely be back, as will my parents!
Went here (a lot closer to my house) after the South Road location was too busy to fix a tire they balanced incorrectly. (Thats a whole other review) I spoke with Dennis on the phone who explained that yes they had a few cars ahead of me, but they could take care of the car for me. Dropped off the car, done a little while later. Super nice guy. I will go here 50 times before I go to South Road again.
Ive been with Mavis for a long time and when we moved, we sought out Mavis again. I know that Mavis will give me the best service. Their staff is the best and I can always count on them.

I happened to stop here because I really needed an oil change late in the day on a weekday, before a long road trip, and they were the only shop close and open late today. Without an appointment I was expecting to be turned away, or at best, being told half an hour, not calling for a ride, and then sitting there for three hours. But I was helped by a gentleman named Danny, and he’s awesome. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, I was in and out quick, and in the time he told me! The price was reasonable, too. Probably my new oil change spot, glad I stumbled on this shop.

After visiting Vanderbilt& being told by a park ranger that they close at 4& not at 6 like website says, I left, only to get a nail in my tire right after & luckily there was a Mavis right down road. Couldnt be better timing as I had a 40 min drive home.They were close to close & Dennis, the manager said that Del( tire tech) wouldnt mind after he was done with there last job to plug it for me. Fixing this to them was probably minor, however Huge for me and took the stress of driving across river away. The atmosphere was genuine& they werent in a rush to get me outta there despite prob working all day.Them just taking the little extra time& not just saying sorry were closing was the kindest customer service Ive had in along time. I will not hesitate to go to this location again because of them. Thank you again.
Andrew the manager is awesome. Bought tires from him at his last store he managed and they moved him to Hyde Park. Customer loyalty follows him. Got more work done at this location and does an amazing job every time. Couldnt be happier

Very nice place got an oil change here. They gave me a coupon for 10 dollars off. Took about an hour or less. Also they included a free checkover, which I was worried about thinking they would try to upsell me but they didnt. They were honest and told me about a problem I already knew about. I told them Im not ready to fix it yet and they left it alone. Very friendly people. Something kinda unrelated however very interesting just to add for anyone reading this. This Mavis location is built on top of what used to be an old family run drugstore.
I’ve been getting my oil changes and other fixes here for a while now and I must say this is one of the best customer service I’ve ever received with my car! they help me in a timely manor and are very professional! thank you Andrew for everything you’ve done for me! I came for an oil change, and the guy behind the counter, Aidan, was more than happy to speed me along and even assisted with getting me some new wipers at a discount. I absolutely love this Mavis in hyde park. They have a literally gone up and above anywhere I have ever gone to get service! They have got me in and out! Their prices have been better than anyone else! The staff is super friendly and nice! They even helped out my 14-year-old son friends Bicycle when this kid got a flat tire! I will never go anywhere else! The staff is super friendly! I was not disappointed the four different times I’ve gone to that shop!
Let me start off by saying I typically don’t write reviews. My morning started off at a local, well-known tire place. They said it would take an hour. I sat there for an hour and they did not even start or give me the courtesy to tell me it was going to take longer. In frustration, I left. So happy that I did. I came to Mavis and Danny helped me right away. Not only did he give me a better price, but went out of his way to make sure that I was in and out. He clearly explained what my options were and I felt like I came to the right place. My daughter needs new tires on her car as well. I will definitely be coming back. Danny was awesome.

These guys were great and I plan on buying my next set of tires from them. I spend a lot of time driving. A lot of time. I go through tires and make it a point to keep my car serviced. They treated me well, didnt try to sell me services or items I didnt need or steer me toward items that were out of my price range. They took care of my car and me quickly. I plan on returning for my next set of tires

As I stand here waiting for my car to have tires done for the past 3 hrs, I’m notified that their tire machine is not working (at a tire shop). They apparently have two machines. I was told one does steel wheels and one does alloy wheels (lie) and the alloy wheel machine is broken. After half an apology from the gentleman, they pull my car around to leave. I drive the car around the block and the tire pressure light pops on. I look and the tires are all under inflated by over 10lbs each. So I drive back around. More attitude from the gentleman behind the counter. It was as if it was my fault I took my car to get tires at a tire shop and it was my fault they put under inflated tires back on my car from a tire shop!I’ve used this Mavis several times before and they were very good. I don’t know what happened with this debacle. Suffice it to say, I will never step foot into a Mavis again and I will do my best to dissuade any one within an earshot to stay away from any Mavis. Go try the smaller shops instead. After a phone call, I was able to find the same tires from a local Poughkeepsie shop for less money.***And Corporate Mavis, if you’d like to reach out to me, contact that shop. They have all my info. I’d love to tell you about my dissatisfaction in more detail. ***
I made a couple of videos but here’s the text part lol. Aiden and his crew are marvelous workers and the place is clean and covid friendly. My wait time wasn’t long-my cars lifespan ended here but they definitely went above and beyond for me even down to the tow truck driver. Thank you all for the customer service skills and the hospitality I received. I hope all is swell with everyone and all and the customers soon to be ❤️✌️
Danny made the experience easy and smooth. He was clear on helping me with my tires choices and made me feel very comfortable. The service was pretty fast and I will return to this location.
My boyfriend and I went to go get new tires put on his car. We dropped the car off at 10am. My boyfriend normally does his own tires but he didn’t have the time to and needed his car back because he got a flat so he wasn’t able to drive it at all. We waited for the call to come and pick up his car and it takes 4 hours. They tell us they’re just pulling it in, mind you all he said was he wanted the front tires replaced. We walk in and they have the hood open. We asked why they say it’s a company policy so we let it go. We sit there for an HOUR AND A HALF to change two tires. We get the receipt and it’s $300. They say that he asked for his batterie checked, shocks checked, and his brakes checked when he never asked for any of that. And in the beginning they kept trying to up charge him for things he didn’t need done. And ON TOP OF THAT they didn’t even balance the tires correctly, so he had what you call the “death wobble” when your steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. Which is not safe what so ever. The tires were so unbalanced that they were 3 oz off. They absolutely disgusting and all they care about is money. 100% would never recommend.

I got an extremely good price for all. They arent the cheapest but the lowest! I would recommend them to ALL my friends and family. Thank you Michael for all your help. I don’t usually do reviews, but Exceptional customer service! Yesterday I left my car here at Mavis Discount Tire to repair my tire with new brakes and rotators, however, after the workers took a look at the car they found the caliper broken, so I spoke with Aiden regarding payment to be prepared with all that was due in payment, but due to financial constraints, I explained to Aiden that I’m a college student and it is of great difficulty trying to pay for this, while I have school paying for as well. After speaking with Aiden and Danny, they both assured me not to worry after the total was given and they made sure I was well taken care of and more. Exceptional work to you both, Aiden and Danny!!! Thank you again!

My girlfriend and I got into a small accident and had minor car damage that needed to get it fixed ASAP. We walked in to Mavis and we were welcomed immediately. The staff at Mavis, and Aiden in particular, were extremely kind and fixed the damage in 10 minutes. Absolute gem of a place.
Had several problems with my tires and TPMS sensors here..tires i bought ended up with bubbles in them and wound up with a crack in my rim!!! Was told by the regional manager I would get a credit..never did..still had issues with my sensors..went to another auto body shop after a dozen of visits to Mavis with no resolution to my problem! I was told by the new auto body shop that whoever previously worked on my tires/sensors put in a FAULTY OUTDATED SENSOR that is no longer even used, and it had fallen out and was tumbling around in my tire!! Im disgusted!!
Making appointments online is incredibly quick and convenient. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Michael and Dennis at the front desk are always helpful and do their best to find you dscounts whenever possible, and honestly theyre just pleasant to be around.I have a personal mechanic but when Im in a time crunch or need something done that day ( not a week or two later like most autobodies) that wont cost me a months salary this is the shop to go to. In and out quick and relatively painless. The front desk staff will communicate with you every step of the way from start to finish and make sure you fully understand the services being performed in your vehicle.
Danny is very polite and honest. Not a pushy typical salesman attitude kind of guy. I would highly recommend visiting this location. Very clean and inviting. All in all, I will visit Danny and his team in the future. Thank you!

I had to get tires for my daughters car. I had to say Andrew was a great help! He was sweet and personable. He discussed all the possible options for her. I would absolutely recommend going there to everyone and especially to deal with Andrew directly. For a side note I was apprehensive about going to Mavis Id hadnt heard great things but Andrew absolutely eased my mind of that worry.
We took both our cars there yesterday. We had never visited this shop before but we needed quick service. One car needed a tire repair and the other needed 4 new tires. Both Dennis and Jonathan were pleasent, helpful and honest. The tire repair was done in less than 20 minutes and the other car had new tires within a couple hours. They treated us like we were regulars. This is new shop in town and is a great addition to the village of Hyde Park.
I have been in this location a few times over the last few weeks with various automotive issues...i find this location to be clean and well staffed. As well as efficient and attentive. I got off to a bad start to no fault of this location. The call center was oblivious to polocies and alternatives wich wasted a huge chunk of my day. That being said corey who works the front counter (hyde park) not only dealt with me with patience and professionalism. She also managed to keep me as a customer ...something i had not planned on. The manager who i believe to be named jon was also very helpful and understanding of my issues with the call center. Word of advice...close the call center let your more than capable staff handle the phones. And please get a inspection machine so you can be my all around place to take my vehicle.
Went to this location in Hyde Park NY 12538 Was greeted at the door. Place was clean and neat in appearance. They did a price match without any hesitation. Manager Danny and Chet and crew is a number one with me. Danny was honest about what I needed to be completed now and what I could get by with without endangering my safety. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO EVERYBODY. P S Spent more money then I planned on be in long run it will be well worth it. COVID -19 MEASURES WAS ADHERED.

Went there today had 2 tires put on rims and balanced. Very clean and welcoming place. Staff was polite and professional. Lady who helped me was great. Was a nice environment to be in. First let me say the staff is outstanding, professional and courteous that be said, I purchased a set of Mavis Mountianeer tires as my usuasal Cooper tires were not available. The pros, quiet and comfortable ride for an aggressive style tire the cons, very slight decrease in fuel mileage but the biggest drawback to these tires is the flat spots that develop overnight. It takes anywhere from 3 to 5 miles of driving in the morning felling like Im on a rocky road before the tires warm up enough to smooth out, until they do warm up you feel like your riding the rumble strip on the side of the road. Not a bad tire after they warm up but for me, Im not a fan and I am going.to go back to my Cooper tires that I never had a problem with. Dont know if Mavis will take these back and give me my Coopers or if I have to eat them. Will see and will repost afterwards.UPDATE. Well I have to say that Mavis stepped up and made good on the tires. I have been a Mavis customer for more than 20 years now because of the great customer service and by the way the they handled this situation I will be a Mavis customer for another 20 plus years. Changing my review rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. Thank you to all the staff at Mavis.

Dennis and his staff are the best mechanics. Denins alerted us that we did not need to spend an additional $30 for a part which was unnessary for the car and which we were told in August at the Parker Ave Mavis manager that we did. Dennis has always been an honest and professional manager in Hyde Park. Trust him and his staff completley. MAVIS Headquarters please get them a NYS INSPECTION Machine. Been 2 and half years do not want to have to go to another Mavis for an inspection in August. Definitely not going back to Parker Ave in Poughkeepsie.
I brought 2 cars in to have summer tires taken off and snow tires put on, mounted and balanced. The staff was friendly and quick, and I even saw the tech use a real torque wrench. Very impressed. They did not try to upsell, put pressure or tell me i needed anything I didnt. It was a very difference experience than other tire shops. They even bought everyone in the waiting room pizza. I will revisit this location again. Thank you Mavis, for getting our snow tires on, on a sunday during a snowstorm so we dont have to risk our lives getting to work on monday!

I have used this location (and Mavis in general) before but never again will. Staff were friendly and the location was clean and nice, but their techs or quality control or both are garbage--and thats what matters in the end! After getting my oil changed on my Volkswagen on Wednesday 4/17, I drove to Long island the next day (~90 miles). After moving my car from the driveway where it was parked (on Friday) I spied a big old pile of oil. Upon checking under the car there was oil EVERYWHERE, not only on the pan. I checked my dipstick and it showed that my oil level was low too. As a result I had to take the car to a Mavis/SRS location on Long Island where the techs there realized that the filter and filter gasket that the folks in Hyde Park had replaced 48 hours earlier was defective and had to be replaced. As a result, I spent 2 hours of my day waiting for my car to be fixed when I much rather would have been with my family. I will never use this location of Mavis, or any location for that matter, ever again. Support a local shop, not these guys!

Went to go get my car aligned when I picked it up I could tell the car was not properly aligned because it was still pulling they realigned it when I went back to pick it up the car was still not aligned they showed me the print out, so I test drove it and around town and it seemed fine. The next day I drove it on a highway and it was pulling to the left when I centered the steering wheel. I called Mavis and told him I would be returning the next day for them to try to realign it for the third time. They did and they said that it was pulling to the left and it must be something wrong with my steering. I left there and went to Delhatt alignment shop in Poughkeepsie. Their pre-inspection showed that the alignment was way off and they did the alignment now it’s 100% perfect nothing wrong with my steering. I called Mavis to let them know and I was pleased that they refunded my money however I did want to warn others that it took 3 times and they still didn’t get it right and than tried to say it was another problem other than the alignment... this why I gave it one star!

They took my car in and did a check on my tires and I found out they were worst than expected and a man named Jon helped me find tires within my price range and gave me advice on how to care better for my tires. I will most definitely be back next time I need help in that area

2022-02-13The place was clean as a whistle. Staff was courteous, friendly and professional. I went for an alignment. Price was right on time. After I drive more over the next week I can judge the quality of the work done. The car definitely has a different feel to it than when I brought it in. I was getting used to driving it pulling to one side so I gotta readjust.

I needed 4 new tires - They were in stock - They were able to fit me right in - and bang 4 new tires on my car within an hour. Great service, good prices and very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.

2022-02-21I had to bring my 5 year old with me for my oil change. I packed him a bag of snacks and his tablet to keep him occupied- we didn’t need any of that because we weren’t there long. From the second we walked in the door, we were greeted with friendly staff, who were personable and accommodating. The service was SO prompt and I was pleasantly surprised with how quick they were.

2022-02-08I’ve been going here for years and they are always professional. They always try to find you the best deal possible. I had 3 nails in the same tire in a 3 month period and every time I walk in we laugh about it. They get me in and out in amazing time even without an appointment. Out of all the Mavis’s I frequented in the area hands down this is the best one.

2022-03-26Brought in brand new wheels to have tires mounted. Tech clamped to the inside of the wheels creating 5 or 6 dent marks on the inside of each of the brand new wheels. He either wasnt trained properly or didnt care. This is the first time Ive experienced this at a Mavis so obviously it can be done correctly using their machines. Not a good experience considering this was done to brand new wheels.
