Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at this shop. I bought four new tires from them last summer, and when I had one tire that started having a low air problem, I went back to have them check it. I was told that the tire wasnt sealed properly, but they took care of it without any problems. I was a bit uneasy about this, because it suggested that they hadnt done a good job, but, problem solved, I thought! Then, a week later, the tire air light came on again. I went back to Mavis, and after a few hours of waiting (despite having made an appointment), I was told that they found a nail in the tire, which I probably go in the past week. Possible, I suppose...but they plugged it at no charge because I waited so long. Ok, I was fine, and I thought my problem was solved. ANOTHER WEEK LATER, my tire light came on again. This time, I took my car to another shop, who looked at my tire, found a nail within minutes, and NO PLUG anywhere on the tire. I went back to Mavis, because now I had been lied to about a plug being put in, and showed them the nail. The manager was very dismissive and told us that we shouldnt be upset because even though he didnt do anything, he didnt charge us anything. We went around in circles about this for a while, but, the shop never admitted that they didnt fix the tire in the first place. Nor did they admit that they lied to us about the plug. I am unsure of whether it was ever repaired, or had a bad seal, etc. Needless to say, we will never be back.
These guys are the best. I went to replace a bulb and they did it for free just to show me they are reputable professionals and real smart business people. I will stay with these guys for a long time. I own a 2009 Nissan Rogue with high mileage and i will need these guys for sure in the near future. Thankyou and keep up the good work. KUDOS.....
Compared to other places I have called or have brought my vehicle to for tires or service, this has been my best experience in years. When I called to get prices for tires, the team member listened to what I needed for my vehicle and I was treated with respect. I got a set of tires that meet my specific needs. When I got to the shop for the tires to be put on my vehicle, the wait time was minimal and as promised. I appreciated the great effort the manager put in that day to help everyone waiting for their vehicles get back out on the road ASAP! Thank you for making me feel like a valued customer.
Honestly I think I caught them on a bad day. Changing of one tire that I was told would only take 45 min to an hour took 3 and a half hours instead. It wasnt until I was leaving I found out 2 people called out and they were short staffed. Hopefully my next experience is better. Otherwise, the pricing was average. I might have been able to get a better price elsewhere, but its not ridiculously expensive either.
I came in for an inspection, and I knew my shocks needed to be replaced fairly soon. They did make me aware of it, and when I told them I would be replacing them on my own they didnt argue or try to make me come back and have it fixed there. Theyre not pushy at all, so Ill Definitely be back again.
I refuse to go to any mechanic around me anymore. Unfortunately I had paid for work and it was never done, by a mechanic in my area. I travel an hr to go strictly to this mavis to have my car worked on. Theyre honest & very friendly. David the store manager, goes above and beyond, and darryl was friendly and very helpful with the whole process from the time I got there, til I picked up my car. Im never going anywhere else. Its worth the drive to have their kind of honesty and customer service.
We had such an amazing experience at Mavis. Bhigggie is a true asset to the company. He was welcoming, knowledgeable and walked us through options for us to choose from. He gave us time to think about our options and choose what was best for our family. We are leaving here knowing we are safe. We will absolutely come back for our cars needs. Highly recommend!!
They do not know how to reset foreign cars. My service light was never cleared,I was told when I first called that they knew how to since the Kingston mavis couldnt do so either. I was told I have never reset a Mercedes before and looks to complicated. So I wait for almost 45 minutes as they pretended to work on my car to only walk outside and to see they are on a smoke break. If you cant work on a car dont say you can. On top of how many times they changed the prices. If you can you can use a flex otherwise they will try to rip you off on labor!. Do not bring your car here they are very dangerous in 9 months I had to bring my car back to them 6 times,last one I almost died due to their negligence. If you drive any type of foreign car do not bring it. They are incompetent, unprofessional, double talking flat out dishonest untrustworthy LIARS.
Good place great service Ive been using them for a couple years now never really had much of an issue with them, sometimes I get a discounts sometimes the wait can be long but nothing where u have to cancel your days plan depending on the day but overall good customer service👍.
I came to do my oil change.Yesterday they gave me an appointment for 9:00 am today.I was on time, but the front desk guy accepted about 4 walk-ins before taking care of my car.Consider that I had an appointment.I waited over 1 hour and they didnt apologizes.I decided to left and not come back here.
Just went in to Mavis tires to get my mom tire fix was a nail in it the guy Joe was so nice to me. I was here before and didnt have a good experience with my daughters car when I spent over $800.00 on it. So overall thats why I gave a 4 stars not five one bad experiences I had. I told myself I wasnt coming back but Joe made me feel much better. Thank you for the help today.
I had the best experience ever today here at this location, I needed 4 new tires for my truck and the not only was the young man Andrew extremely helpful and courteous, but the entire process was done in about an hour which was less then what I was expecting. I love that after 5,000 miles the tires can get rotated for free. I was shown the issues with my tire and time was taken for the proper care of my truck. I will definitely be coming back to this location.
Biggy, Collin, and Joe were fantastic at this location!! Last week I had made an appointment through the call center but they did not call the store to ask if they could take me and instead overbooked the appointment. They were incredibly busy when I walked into this store, and were backed up due to call outs with their staff and the impending snow storm.Biggy and Collin took care of me by apologizing on more then one occasion, and ensuring that even if they had to stay late that my car would be serviced.I drove from Mavis to Mavis this day trying to get my car taken care of, and no one would take care of me except the staff the this Poughkeepsie location. The service at this location was the best I have ever experienced, and I will continue to give Mavis my business because of the employees you have at this location.Customer service is so important now a days, and it is very hard to find such top-notch service, but I can honestly say I have found it here!Collin also took the time to explain and show me in detail a couple of other issues that I had with my car. He explained they were pertinent that I got it fixed as soon as possible as it was a safety issue. They ordered the parts needed and were in constant communication with me throughout the entire process. With the snow storm that we had it delayed the parts getting delivered and they called me right away to keep me in the loop.I cannot express how the service at this location completely changed my mind on Mavis and took the bad taste out of my mouth entirely.From the first moment I walked in explaining the problems I had with the call center over booking they took care of me through each and every step.I am a District Manager and know how crucial having employees that care about not only their job, but also the customers that come through their door.The 3 of these men have made me a Mavis customer for life and completely turned my negative experience into a positive one.I am also going to write a letter to the Mavis CEO regarding the experience. It started out absolutely horrible with the service I received but then turned me into a very happy and loyal customer because of the staff at this location.Please take the time to give a HUGE thank you to the 3 of these employees! I only wish I had such caring, thoughtful, loyal employees work for me; as they understand the importance of customer service.Thank you to the 3 of you! I called today, Sunday, and was able to get an appointment to get new tired installed on.my car. We knew what type of tires we wanted and had received an on line quote with Mavis. Bradford, in the Dutchess Turnpike store, in Poughkeepsie, was very nice and super helpful explaining what we were going to get with the tires. We did get the tire insurance as it makes sense and was reasonably priced per tire. I highly recommend Mavis and this Poughkeepsie store. Bradford was very professional and had the car back to us in the time frame he promised. Thanks for taking care of us today, Bradford, we really appreciate it!!
Im new to the neighborhood and I needed to renew my inspection a friend recommended Mavis. I was very happy with the customer service. A few things needed to be repaired in order for the vehicle to pass inspection. The gentlemen explained everything in detail and the pricing was very affordable. Everything was done in a timely manner. I will be going back to complete some work that was recommended.!
Every staff member that I interacted with there were more than courteous. My vehicle service was quick and painless. Matt was one of the mechanics I interacted with, and he was very straight forward and professional throughout the process. Will return for future services and required maintenance.
The team there is great. Youre greeted with friendly and knowledgeable service right from the front door. The wait was not long, and they explain to you what you should expect for your next visit. At the Poughkeepsie location Chris was a great help on explaining how financing would work. Great at multitasking, and I would recommend anyone to ask for him if they have any questions.
Customer negotiated out the door price for 4 tires which included taxes .Customer even show clerk the name of person that gave the price,he then spoke to manager came back and told customer that everything is fine. Only to fine added fees included on the bill after the job was done. They dont honor their own call center people.12/21/19Thanks for the fast response of the upper management ,this issue was resolved.I was refunded the extra charges. Thanks again for upper management .What may have lost can be restored.
When you bring your car in, the people working there always come up with a problem that your car has and want you to buy the solution to a non-existent problem. They also charge you way higher prices for things youd find a lot cheaper in other auto repair stores. Which is the reason I dont like coming here anymore, for the fear of being charged way more than what Im supposed to.
My friend and I came in yesterday for two oil changes. The man at the front desk assured me if I left the first car it would be done within an hour and a half and they would begin the second car upon our arrival back. He refused to look up a coupon for me and stated they didnt have a discount. He wouldnt even look... Sure enough, I was able to find it myself on google within 10 seconds...After that was settled, we left and I arrived back with the second car almost two hours later and the first car hadnt even been taken into the garage yet... I specifically asked the man at the front desk if he had time to do both and he assured me he did. I told him we could come back a different day but he insisted they were on schedule and had time. When we arrived back and saw that we had been lied to, we were ready to leave. A mechanic by the name of Bhiggie over heard my conversation with my friend about taking our business elsewhere. He asked me if the front desk informed us that they were running behind. I reiterated the conversation and explained that the front desk man misinformed us and wasted our time. He apologized for the inconvenience and took it upon himself to take both cars into the garage and began working on them immediately. Shout out to Bhiggie for his excellent customer service and correcting the front desks mistakes. If it wasnt for him, I would never use this locations service again. Thank you Bhiggie, you saved the day and we appreciate you!! Keep up the good work, they are lucky to have you!
Looks like I’m not coming back here I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance for two tires my car has been sitting in the parking lot for over an hour and a half know one has looked at it. When I asked the kid at the desk why my car has not been looked at yet he said “well we’re backed up with appointments” when I told him my car has been sitting in the parking lot for over an hour he ignored me and helped someone else. It has just been me and another customer since I walked in. For over an hour.Beyond rude, not coming back.
WARNING I SUED THEM AND WON:It is unfortunate that I could not give this company zero stars. I would not suggest anyone to go to Mavis of Poughkeepsie Rt 44 or any other Mavis for that matter for your car needs. I have been swindled and taking for hundreds of dollars for services that were not conducted. Thankfully I won my lawsuit against them to recoup some of the money I invested due to their bogus recommendations. Even upper management and corporate were terrible in dealing with my concerns, forcing me to take them to court. I was charged for wheel alignments that were never done, tires multiple times as well as tire insurance. They can’t work on foreign luxury cars as they don’t have the necessary tools however, they will still claim to do the work and charge you. The staff switches around so often. It’s hit or miss with the knowledge of the person working that day. Next stop, better business bureau.

2022-06-22The tire Tech Jake referred me to utilize Mavis for an inspection ..I was Leary at first. The customer service that Jake provided was excellent he connected me to his manager Pete due to some concerns I had from a past transaction with Mavis. Pete assisted me, he was very patient and was able to ease my mind. Once I dropped off my vehicle I had a few questions I called and Hakim was able to answer my question professionally and accurately, as I knew the answer already but I needed to confirm they were making the correct repairs in order to pass my inspection. In addition to Pete, Jake, Hakim I also was assisted by Isaiah. Isaiah answered a ridiculous amount of questions I had while he explained my needed repairs and why the items should be fixed now instead of waiting as it would cause safety issues in the future. I was satisfied with the service at that point but was MORE elated when I picked up my car due to the Price. Pete and ALL of his staff that was working on 6/21 were EXCELLENT.... Due to my past bad experience with a Mavis Shop I was hesitant BUT Pete and his staff took care of my car were VERY PROFESSIONAL and CHANGED my opinion entirely on Mavis. This is NOW MY GO TO SHOP.. customer service nowadays doesnt exist........ however Pete and his entire crew at Mavis provide an excellent customer service and should be ACKNOWLEDGED for that...

2022-02-27I went there for an oil change on a day where not only was it snowing but extremely cold. The only day I could go. Trevor was prompt and excellent with his service. He helped me out I was in and out in 20 minutes! Literally the best and fastest service I’ve ever had.

2021-12-01Went to mavis , had all four tires replaced on my truck . The following day they were squealing very loud , I returned to have them look at it and give me a new inspection. Mike was the technician, he said that it was my brakes and they were not responsible, he wouldn’t even take off my tire to look. Took to another mechanic, he said my dust sheiks had been bent in and it was grinding against my rotor . The damage was obviously done by them . I now have a gouge in my rotor and my brakes still make noise because of it . The pads and rotors had been done 7k miles ago by the dealership . Not to mention the scratches they put on my rims changing the tires. He even admitted to not removing my tire during my New York State inspection. The service was god awful and my truck has sustained damage from them doing simple work on it and refuse to assist or any culpability. Daryl is the one redeeming quality at this place and was pleasant and helpful. Mike was simply a mechanic there but was acting like he was the manager and told me it was not their problem.

2022-04-13This morning I blew my right front tire. Since my car is brand new, I contacted the dealership about a tire replacement. Since new cars have nitrogen in them There was a possibility that the tire can be replaced for free via some company (don’t remember the name). To keep a long story short I had to wait two days for someone at the dealership to look at the tire and see if the tire was warrantable. But due to long-distance driving I cannot wait two days especially on a dummy tire. I ended up calling Mavis and they ordered the exact name brand and size tire I needed. And installed it right away. I cannot thank them for the quick notice and on top of that excellent customer service. I would highly recommend anyone to go to this location.

2022-02-03Went there for a new battery & brake fluid flush. They got the work done in a short time (as they noted before taking my vehicle in) which really helped. I bought my car used form Honda and just last week took it to get serviced. What mavis did that Honda didnt, was behind each wheel and flush the brake fluid. This stopped the squeaking of my brakes despite Honda telling me they were fine. Much Appreciated for doing the work the RIGHT way.

2022-05-15Brought my car in for an oil change last Saturday and immediately knew something was off. I called Mavis and was told to bring it back. I told the guy over the phone that I was sure the wrong oil was put in my car. Bright it back today and instead of being greeted with a good morning or hello, the manager greeted with “so what exactly is the problem”…he was expecting me I guess. Turns out the wrong oil was put in the car. The issue was resolved but I give this Mavis location a 1 star for the not so warm welcome especially seeing that an error was made on part of the shop, that could have damaged my car. There was no apology or anything either, after he came to my husband and I and stated that the wrong oil or as he put it, lower grade oil had indeeed been put in my car. Gone are the days of great customer service…

2022-05-17A Very fraudulent company . 5/16 I dropped off my car with Mavis , I asked that they replace light buds and to do my Inspection . I gave the keys and left5/17 I went to pick up my vehicle. I was told everything was fix and I was good to go . When I got inside my car I notice my new light buds package ( that was giving to them to put in ) not open at all. When I went to the front desk and ask what happen and why did he charge me for both if they never even put the new light buds in , . I was told by the supervisor my light buds don’t fit , and it was my fault . I called advance auto zone just to find out that it was the right buds all along . My question is why did Mavis on 44 in Poughkeepsie just tried to pull a fast one me?……. And the supervisor had zero cares for my situation.As a business owner my self I would never conduct business like that or have any individuals that’s so careless working at my company

2022-05-22Updateto my last post…I posted my review for the wrong location. I went to this location on Saturday to get air in my tires and the guys here were AWESOME!! I happens to bring up my unfortunate situation to the manager of this location and he knew exactly which review I left and informed me that the location I went to was the FREEDOM PLAINS RD Mavis Tires. I apologize profusely and these guys were great from the gate!! Rickell put air in my tires and was really nice and informative when I explained my experience with the other Mavis location. Again. I apologize and although I am unable to have that negative review removed, I hope this one overrides it. I’ve been a Mavis customer for over 10 years or more and what I can say is that the service at all Mavis locations is not the same but most that I’ve been too are stellar when it comes to hospitality & service. Dutchess Turnpike Mavis did not disappoint.
