Every time I come here (with dread due to one rude manager) I am amazed at how Mavis chooses to keep Harry as terrible as he is at customer service. Every other manager or worker there is respectful besides him. He has nothing but attitude and rude comments to say. It never fails. The only people I’ve seem him actually talk respectful to is other old white men. I know I am not alone since I’ve seen him be rude to plenty of customers over the years, and I’m sure only about 5% of those people bother to even leave a review about his terrible customer service. I have tried my hardest to give him the benefit of the doubt over the years, thinking it may just be a ‘bad day’ for him. But this is so persistent that it is time for corporate to really step in. As for everyone else who works there, never had one problem and always great service. I don’t see why I should always expect rude service from Harry and tolerate it. It’s unprofessional and shouldn’t be allowed. Mavis, listen to your loyal customers! Don’t allow this insensible display keep ruining the image of this location.Sincerely,A fed up customer.
This place is by far the worst. They milk every dollar out of your misery and don’t do fair work. Every time I get my car worked on and get it back there is always a new problem. They always rush and say yes it will be taken care of and barely do any work. Yes the other reviews are correct. You will get lots of attitude for no apparent reason. They will respond to reviews saying we value your business and all that other nonsense but yet haven’t corrected the problem or replacing the rude or people with bad customer service. So my suggestion and advice is take your money where your business is welcome and appreciated
This location is the best experience Ive ever had with a shop. Ive been going here for almost 7 years. Harry, Dante and Angel always take care of whatever I ask for my car, at unbeatable prices and great service. Theyre a super busy shop so Ive had to learn to plan ahead and drop off early in the morning, but its great for me since Im within walking distance. Theyve also fit me in last minute when it was possible for quick stuff and saved me a ton of time. I highly recommend them. To address some of the complaints, this is not the kind of place where you get pampered and lots of attention. Maybe youd get that at a dealer although the last two I tried were rude and always behind on time. This is a neighborhood busy shop, lots of bays and knowledgeable people who keep the work moving.
This location is awesome! I bring my luxury vehicles here and the service is outstanding and reasonably priced. I have been getting my cars serviced here for over 3 years and management consists of the same people which is nice because there is a familiarity and comfort coming here. Angel is GREAT, is VERY knowledgeable, always pleasant, and takes time to answer any of my questions. I would definitely recommend!!
Called the day before to make an appointment. Spoke with a male and informed him I had a flat tire I wanted fixed. He told me I didn’t need an appointment to come in, he said earlier the better. They open at 8am I was there at 8:10. There was already a line of folk. I decided to just wait and have the tire fixed. Waited approximately 2hrs. The price was super reasonable and the staff was professional. I would totally return to this location if I ever needed service. Thanks all!I added a photo of the fix, day 1 and three weeks later. I’ll update photos 1yr down the line.
This review is long overdue! I’ve used Mavis for 20 plus years for everything and anything and they’ve provided excellent, professional service for routine as well as emergency service. Harry, the manager (if he’s still there) is an honest, “tell it like it is” professional. All the mechanics are polite and professional. A special shout out to Dante who has also been outstanding in his professionalism and service over the years.
Two blown tires from plate on West Side Highway. Mavis was sympathetic, courteous, put aside two quality tires at fair price, stayed open late so I could be towed by AAA after 7 hours and had the car ready first thing in the morning. Perfect service and transaction. Could not ask for more. Everyone courteous and concerned.
Angel Miro was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the whole process. At no point did I feel unsure about the work being done. Angel was very professional and attentive to my vehicle. His expertise and quality of work are key to keeping me and many other customers returning to Mavis as opposed to the many other service stations in the city. Went there to get my tires checked last Wednesday and had a argument with a manager there named Harry, an old gray haired manager, who told me that I wanted to waste one of his mechanics time to check for leaks in all my tires. I told him Yes, unless there is a problem with me having my tires checked. Now 1 week later, same issue!! I had a great experience with their other manager Angle Miro, buying 4 new tires from him last year, but this manager is very unprofessional and should be fired!!!! Going to the other Mavis on Boston Rd, very professional staff there!!
This Mavis came highly recommended to me by a close friend. I have used them before for tires and inspections. Today I brought my car in for a blown gasket in my exhaust. Angel was honest and upfront about the repairs and he went above and beyond for me. I’ve been taken advantage before by other local small shops and I’m always worried it will happen again. I can safely say I do not worry when I leave my car at this mavis location. If anyone asks me if I know a good mechanic Mavis on Broadway will be my answer.
Every time I bring my car into Mavis on Broadway, in the Bronx, I am extremely satisfied with the service. The employees are friendly and helpful, the facility is well managed, the prices are fair, and the timeliness of getting my vehicle back is extremely quick. Thank you for everything, Mavis.
Horrible place, horrible service. Just recently a friend of mine went there and paid almost 900 for four new tires. Come to find out when her husband came and checked the tires he realized they had only replaced one. Manager said it was an honest mistake . How to you have a business making horrible mistakes like that putting customers family at risk? Its because it wasnt a mistake it was a deliberate scam of disgusting people trying to take advantage of a woman thinking they can get away with it. How many times did they get away with it? Mark your tires people! Dont let this happen to you. Dont go here horrible place horrible service putting families at risk to scam a buck.
Dont drop your car at this place, take it somewhere else. If you dont have a choice then wait there and watch them for what theyre doing. Otherwise they will charge you for the service they didnt do. Had my tire changed here this Sunday and also asked for the alignment. After they changed the tires the manager whos name is Jose told me that the car is ready and I can pay. I went to pay and ask him for an alignment printout - his answer was that that he can not give it to me because I should have asked for it before they done it. The last hour of 2.5 hours of waiting time I was there in the waiting area watching what they were doing on my car and I did not see them doing alignment, I told it to the manager (Jose) as well and his answer was - they did it before they changed the tires while I was away. Well luckily I have a dash cam that was recording and have a proof that there was no alignment performed on my car. I called back and ask him why did he lied to me, he only admitted it when I told him that there is a video. Had to come back for the refund. I called the corporate office as well, but no one sims to care there either, the customer support (I believe her name was April) would offer you $40 coupon for your waisted day and troubles. But what about safety of my car? What about that the manager knowingly lied to me? (its probably not the firs time he has done it).And how many other people might have been charged like me the same way with no service and lies in to their faces?
Hello, one of my friend’s wife went to this place recently to get some tires. Long story short, she paid for 4 tires and they only replaced her tire with a new one, giving her 3 used tires. This is not only unacceptable but also a very serious safety hazard. Mavis is supposed to be better than that. As a globally recognized brand they should be operating and setting an example for other shops not pulling some shenanigans that can create a serious safety hazard for their customers. Thankfully, my friend and his wife were able to discover the sham before she hit the road. I would love to believe that this is a one time occurrence or perhaps a grave human error, but at the end Mavis should have better quality assurance procedures. If they are cheating their customers out of their hard earned, I hope NYC consumers affairs is paying attention.
My Wife went to get her tires replaced at this location because she had an emergency. She was in the car with our 11 month old daughter. She paid $835.00 dollars to replace 4 tires. When the car was given back to her I noticed only one tire was replaced. I confronted the assistant manager Dante Garcia about the situation and he got defensive. I explained to him how he is putting my family in danger and his exact words were “IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG YOU CAN ALWAYS SUE AND GET MONEY.” Basically, if my wife together with my daughter were to get into a car accident and die, I could get money and everything would be ok. Then i get a phone call from the manager telling me it was an honest mistake. No sir this was an honest SCAM and i can guarantee i wasnt the only one. I was lucky enough to catch it before my wife drove away. Please stay away from this business!!!!!
The best please to buy tires or batteries. Best prices and most importantly the nicest Staff.They always try their best to get you out fast with a happy result and Are always there after the sale to help you. They just make life a lot easier. They treat you like family.

I have been using this branch of Mavis Tires for numerous years. This is my second vehicle. I have referred various friends and family members also . The mechanics know are very professional with their skills. The staff is friendly and attentive to their customers needs and request. Their tire selection ranges from low price to more reasonable expensive. And as expected the repair time is modest.
Beyond disappointed. Usually they accommodate me and are extremely helpful. I got there at 525 and they close at 6. The guy at the front desk who I’ve never seen before tells me that they don’t have enough time to put one new tire on because there are too many people ahead of me. Meanwhile none of the employees were working. They were all standing in a circle talking. A tire takes 10 minutes to change. I explained I have a 4 month old child and I’m a full time nurse and have no other time I can come within the next few days and he just shrugged his shoulders. I even offered to pay extra to whomever he got to stay an extra ten minutes to change my tire because I was that desperate for a new tire. I can’t drive on a donut for the next week after already driving on it for 5 days. This guy was beyond inconsiderate. I’ve come here 5 minutes before they closed before and never had an issue. I’ve never seen this man before but someone needs to tell him that 35 minutes is more than enough to put one tire on a car.BEST PART. I SAT OUTSIDE FOR 20 minutes AFTER. ( waiting for my nail appt. I’m not a creep)THE GUY TOLD ME THEY CANT TAKE ANYONE ELSE AND SAW HIM TAKE A MAN WHO WAS DRIVING A TRUCK AND HAD NO APPOINTMENT. Went there for the first time and Harry promise me that he would take care of my tires purchased and the work that had to be done in my car. Next thing you know, I was getting my bill and walking out the door. Prices are great and the great staff did a wonderful job. I recommend Mavis to all, I know I will tell all my family, friends, and co-workers. Thank you Mavis!👍
This place is THE BEST! Ive lived in the neighborhood for almost 30 years and tried a lot of shops, and this has become my go-to. Excellent prices, excellent service. Harry and Dante are a great team and go the extra mile. Was just there today (oil change) and appreciated everyones courtesy and humor and willingness to slot me in even though they were busy. Also they were great about wearing their masks. Highly recommend!
WATCH OUT!!! Took my tire in to get patched. The next morning it was flat as a pancake because they didnt seal the tire correctly!!! AND they didnt remove the nail and no evidence of a patch. Front desk wouldnt even apologize just said I dont know what they did or didnt do, I am just at the front desk. No way for a TIRE store to work with customers. Went to my nhood car repair and got a new tire for $15 LESS than what Mavis said they would do for me. My trust has been broken. Go there at your own risk. There are plenty of alternatives in the area.
I had an EXCELLENT experience at this location. Yesterday, 10/7, I called and spoke to Sharon at the front desk about a suspected slow leak. I asked her the hours, and she kindly let me know that since they are only doing walk-ins, I should get my car into the shop by 4:00PM to ensure it would be taken care of. I arrived at 3:50PM, she met me outside and quickly got me situated. Between dropping my car off, waiting, paying, and driving away, I was in and out in just about 1 hour (she told me it would take between 1 and 1.5 hours). She was kind and patient, answering my questions kindly and taking her time, and the 2 guys who worked on my car were also kind and efficient. Excellent customer service and experience - it was my first time taking a vehicle into a shop in the Bronx and I will definitely be returning to this location for future car maintenance needs.
The area is very congested. Police vehicles are all over the place, and traffic is a nightmare, but I still go to this location. When I walked in, I got greeted by Angel. When you go, ask for him, he makes you feel like your car is in good hands. Even after he told me that it would take a few hours to see my car, I would still come back. I appreciate the honesty. I would prefer that Mavis went back to patches. Angel says it was a safety issue, but Im not completely sold on that. I went with the plug, but I didnt have a choice. I have a sports car, and a high speed. Rated tire. At over 100 MPH, I would feel safer with a patch than I would with a plug. I will put in a complaint with Mavis. But I doubt anything would change. Angel told me that the plug would be fine. Again, Ill trust him. If you plan on taking your car there, plan on leaving it. You can go home, or go shopping. Just know that your car will be taken care of.
After moving to New Jersey 13 years ago and still work in the city, it’s Always a pleasure coming to this Mavis. It’s worth the 2 hours of travel knowing that my all of my vehicles are in good hands with Donte and his team. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to work on my vehicles.

Please please, be aware of this place. A friend of mine went there today to get all 4 tires changed and they only changed one tire and acted as if they have changed all 4. This place should be inspected by the city for violations cuz I’m sure that she’s not the only person who they have done something like this to. How can you trust a business like this again when they do things that can put their clients and everyone in general in real DANGER due to their negligence???? What a shame!
I am always please with service at this location. I set up an appointment late Saturday night for Sunday at 12 noon. Dropped the car off at 12 noon and was back in the car by a few minutes past 1pm even though they were busy. This is how it should always be, unlike the location in Carmel where an appointment still means one will wait for hours before your car is even taken into the bay. I will say however management is responsive at both locations.Ive been coming to the Broadway location for years and prefer this location over the Carmel one.
Mavis has been my go to place for tires and other repairs for years. I think Harry, the main manager there, is the very best shop manager around. He’s always professional.Recently I had all 4 tires replaced (not an inexpensive service) — unfortunately, for the first time in my life I refused the extended tire warranty — big mistake. Less than 2 weeks later my tire went flat while drive home.Mavis customer service (Harry was on vacation) just said there wasn’t anything they could do. I thought, if Mavis is going to charge me to just to fix a flat on a new tire, well, I may as well go to my local service station. In addition, Mavis CS said that here would be would be at least 2 hours before they would get to my car (I know it would have been much longer). So, I went to the local mechanic.When my local mechanic checked my tires (it took about 45 mins) he said that who ever had installed the tires hadn’t tightened the stems. Loose stems not just on the side with the flat tire but, on both front tires. A problem that could have ruined both tires and been very costly to repair. I wondered, “would Mavis have even acknowledged their mistake or just charged me for a repair that was of their making?”Thanks to Orlando at Tyrone32 for tightening the stems and not charging me anything. Very quickly I was off and running. Thanks Orlando!
I was a couple days ago two buy two tires. They don’t have I order it at 5 pm the next day at 9 am they call me and told they have the tires for me. I went there is a nice lady I wish I can hire her to work for me she take care of me and all this people in from me like pro. And the guy who do the tires do unbelievable job and fast. Very good place guys. A1 for me.
I have brought my car to this location numerous times and each time I left happy. Its a tight run ship. And customer service and satisfaction are obviously a priority. It is nice to see a business whose values excel most others (and values that seem to be lost in this day and age.) In my youth this is how I remember businesses being run. I feel well taken care of when I visit the Broadway Riverdale Bronx NY location.I do hope that Mavis is aware of my review and how wonderful this location is providing top notch quality work and excellent customer serviceAll too often people take the time to complain but rarely take the time to compliment. Mavis Discount Tire on Broadway in the Bronx is my absolute go-to place for tires and wheels. Harry and the crew there are the best Ive found. I have had a series of cars with low profile tires and alum wheels - one damaged wheel and blown out tire after another on NY roads. Harry and his crew have been gotten me back on the road in no time repeatedly over the last five or six years or more - also done inspections, battery, etc. . Great work, good fair prices and quick service. I recommend highly. I wont go anywhere else.
I made an appointment a week prior to get my tires changed. When I give them the car, 30 minutes later 4 bolts from my tires go missing. I walk out to get breakfast and when I come back, my trunk is open (yes they stole from me). The assistant manager then tells me that 2 out of the 4 tires are missing and theyll arrive on the 22nd. They offered me cheaper quality tires for the same price and tried to charge me more than the original price. The only reason I didnt fight the guy right there is because he was not worth it, but I still cant believe what they to me in there. They stole from me, antagonized me and didnt service my vehicle, instead left it worse than it did when I brought it in. I filed a police report.
This place was good until they put my life in danger. They told me to come at 12 to put my tires on they didn’t even start the job till 3:30 then finish around 4. I’m waiting outside all this time. Then I told them I was going out of state. As I’m driving from New York to Virginia they didn’t even balance my tires I had to stop at a rest stop in Jersey because my steering wheel was shaking so bad it was dangerous being a single woman alone. Not only was the steering wheel shaking but one slight move on the wheel the car was shifting to the next lane. My car wasn’t doing this before these tires are installed. They put my life in danger but by Gods grace I got the tires fixed my a Sunoco gas station rest stop in Jersey. Thank you Father God that I was not injured due to their negligence.
There was a nice old man who helped me fixed my problem after I have got into a confusion with the reception due to delayed on my delivery of copper tires. I believe that was because of COVID19 crisis. Although all the challenging situation, I got very nice service, especially from the manager/ the boss (Harry), who did his best to satisfy his clients. The man apologized and offered me Hankook instead with the same price! He also gave me free useful advices for my car. I personally will always return back to this place for my car. They are professionals, dedicated to their clients. Thats why I give them 5 stars service.
I come hear mostly, because my cars are always taking care in timely matter. The workers are extremely great, and gives you respect . They dont have you sit around for your car all day, like car dealerships do. While Maris Tire, is in business, I will be bring my car to them. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

I walked out to find a flat tire midday, and I tried driving to 2 other tire repair places that were chaotic and disorganized.I ended up making it to Mavis, and they were able to get me in immediately at 4pm on a Saturday. They were thorough in explaining what happened and gave me a discounted price on the new tire I had to buy.
Dante is a good guy, everyone else in there hates their jobs though. Don’t bring your car in, they aren’t interested in helping you in any way besides taking your money and cashing their paychecks. Car ended up getting scratched due to the gentleman at the front desk telling me to bring it in even with a line forming outside and the bay full of cars. I went in looking to spend 500-700$, ended up with thousands off my cars value due to a careless employee.
I brought my 2016 Honda CRV to Mavis for an oil change after the oil light turned on. The customer service was super indifferent and rude, but is raining hard and I didn’t want to find a new place. That isn’t the worst of it though. After the oil change, I kept smelling a strong gas scent in my car. Today, August 14, I checked under the car and noticed a leak. I took the car to a different mechanic that had good reviews online. He told me that it wasn’t a gas smell, but the smell of oil. He asked if I had the oil replaced recently and I told him about Mavis. He said they forgot to put the oil cap back on and it was splashing all over the engine and car. I looked under the hood and it was an oil splashed mess. He also told me that our car could’ve blown during a long trip. We were just about to drive 2 hours to Long Island when I smelled the gas and stopped at the mechanic, so I feel like we averted disaster. I will never trust Mavis for anything again, and I strongly urge you to not trust your car care to them. These chains do not care.
The best experience you can get at a car garage. Both managers are super nice and they take their time to explain in details what you need fixed and before the job gets done they give you a call with the estimate cost. I have been there 2 times already and I will keep going back.
This place is very incompetent. They changed the oil in one of my cars and didn’t put the cap to the oil tank back on. Changing oil is a basic task with very few things to do correctly. I found out by taking my car on a drive on the highway and having the oil indicator come on. There was oil ALL over the engine of my car creating a dangerous situation. The shop took no responsibility for the mistake. If mistakes are made like this on a basic oil change you can imagine what else they could do to your car. The car was also brought in for a shimmying feeling on the highway. They diagnosed it by doing an alignment. Afterwards the problem persisted and I brought the car to another shop where they were able to diagnose that pieces connecting the wheel to the steering were failing and could have had terrible consequences if left in the condition they were in. This shop has incompetent mechanics.
Things needed to be a Mavis Discount Tire customer;1. A car2. Money3. Inherent knowledge of flat tire symptoms and explicit intel regarding your particular reasoning for your flat tire, lest they sell you a brand new one without even informing you that your rim is cracked, which you cant see unless the wheel is off, and that a new tire wouldnt fix.Honestly, the guys at the Flat Fix places will tell you straight up whats wrong, and 9/10 theyll have what you need at a fraction of the price. Plus they can fix cracked rims. Mavis cannot. Their company mustve been named on opposite day because theres nothing discount about them.
I have been here since 8.am. People who came after me got their vehicle up on the rack. It’s been 45 min still haven’t touched my vehicle. Ive been getting my services done from Mavis for many years, and for the convenience I stopped by this location. The employee name Harry Tried to charge me extra for tire rotation even though I asked him to check the previous history I have never paid extra for tire rotation whenever I get an oil change because its complimentary and part of the service. When I pointed him that he got aggravated and started to take personal anger on my by holing up on my vehicle without starting the services. This is very frustrating for a Monday morning. Im at a point getting the key and take my business somewhere else. Employees like this is a Cancer disease to the entire company and you should cut it off before it spread out to other employees. Also, it indicates how poor management and the companys operating level.
Purchase was Not ok my 2018 truck is immaculate!! My rims were perfect no curb rash or scratches!!!!😡 I spent $1300.00. On 5 tires! they gouged & scratched up 3 of my rims, one gouge on front drivers side tire has the powder coat on rim from factory completley chipped off the size of a nickel this is not the level of care I expect buying 5 new tires mounted with road hazard protection
Hi I went online and make the appointment. Who knew that was the easiest part. I drive my young son and I to get all four tires changed and when we get there I was told I have to wait 3 hours b4 they could do a hour long job. We was never told about any waiting time b4 the work start. Totally waste of time. Ima have to find another place to spend my money
Avoid avoid and avoid.Brought the car in for an oil change and new brakes/sensorsMechanics couldnt perform a basic oil change and the car broke down on the highway.Brake sensors were not installed correctly and brake light remained on.Good luck trying to get any type of solution or money back.A lot of other options in the area who are less expensive, perform better work and wont take as long to repair.Really low level of workmanship.
I came in around 9am on a Wednesday. I was greeted promptly and asked what I came in for. I told them I had a slow leak in one tire and when I put air in the light was still on. He said okay they would look at it and see what was going on. I went and sat in the waiting area. 10 minutes later he came in to show me what was going on. My tire sensor was the problem. He told me he would try to fix it but the whole sensor could be $100. I said ok. Another 10 minutes later he showed me he was able to fix the problem and all my tires had been filled to the appropriate pressure. I went to the desk assuming I would be paying $100 for a new sensor. I was told $21. I was shocked. I said are you sure? He went and checked with the service manager. The service manager came in and said “why would I make you pay $100 if you don’t have to?” I was so grateful. Id been to so many other Mavis’s and been nickel and dimed but this one I have always had a positive experience.
This is a first class operation. The service is spectacularly efficient, the personnel highly skilled, while Harry, Dante, and all the workers are straightforward, honest, and trustworthy. You can absolutely rely on what they tell you. Its clearly the best place to get tires, brakes, etc. On top of all that the prices are extremely reasonable, and normally you are in and out very fast.
Ordered a tire and was told it would arrive at about 10 am but for me to call at 9. If it wasnt there by that time, to then wait for a call from them. I wanted to bring my car when they opened and they told me not to. I called at 9. Tire hadnt arrived. I received no call to inform me of when it did. I called them back at 12, and the tire was in fact delivered. I bring my car in, but was advised that I was blocking the exit and asked to move my car and that it was a THREE HOUR wait for my tire to be changed. I moved my car as I was directed. When I get back in, the same guy that told me to move my car from blocking the exit, had allowed a woman to leave her car there, did the intake for her car, then he went to move her car, himself. So on top of the already 3 hour wait, I now had this other woman that got there after me, in front of me as well.I Expressed my dissatisfaction for the entire situation with the guy that had me move the car. Had I been allowed to bring just car when I got out of work like I wanted, it would he done already and I would have been on my way. The guy was dismissive, rude, and disrespectful. Which in turn got me even angrier. His manager came over and saw how the employee was handling it and immediately offered to handle my situation himself. He was the saving grace of this location. He may not have agreed with me 100%, but he saw where the break in communication and the misdirection from his employees caused an issue where there shouldnt have been one.He got my car in and out in about 15 minutes. Had it not been for him, Id give them 1 star.I wish I had taken down names, but in the heat of it all, I wasnt thinking about that.
Excellent customer service and prices. I went there for a wheel alignment and I was in and out in one hour. The staff are very friendly and professional. They provide a variety of automotive services in addition to tires. I highly recommend this Mavis Discount store!
Made an appointment for tire installation, confirmed appointment for tire installation, took a day off work for tire installation arrived for appointment and was told tires will not arrive for two more days. This whole ordeal cost me money and time. Horrible experience will not return.
This place the best place for installing and balancing tires. The price is super fair. They work pretty quick depending the time you come in. Winter time is always busy there due to potholes in the city. Make sure to make an appointment at the main office. You can get better deals!
I made an appointment on Friday and the gentleman on the phone told me to come in at 9am on Sunday and emailed me my work order. When I arrived on Sunday - I was told by the staff on site that it is “first come first serve” and was dismissed. What irked me more besides the fact that my time was wasted was the attitude by the staff. I will not be returning to this establishment again.
The experience I had there today was frustrating and unsuccessful- a waste of time. My car was forgotten for 3 hours and the work was not done despite making an appointment. I was told they were too busy but I believe that was a lie to cover up a mistake. I would have liked to be a loyal customer.
Came in to fix a break light and get my car inspected. Staff failed to write down that I needed an inspection despite calling the prior day and being given a ticket number and repeating it to multiple staff members on arrival. After waiting for over an hour and a half I overheard the staff telling another patron that their system was down and they were unable to do any sort of inspections today. The team failed to notify me of this because they incorrectly logged that it needed to be done. After complaining the staff they did fix my break light in 5 minutes at no charge. However when i asked if I could return the following day to have my car inspected without waiting on line I was told it was first come first serve. Long story short, spent over 2 hours at this location to have a bulb fixed and now I need to find another location to do my inspection. The staff works extremely slow and does not prioritize simpler tasks which leads to a large back up of cars. I would stay clear of this place.
My first time there - I had a flat tire and chose them because they appeared on the Bridgestone website and were nearby. They were very honest, friendly, and professional - They quickly determined that the tire could be repaired and it was just over $16.00 with tax. I was very impressed and would certainly go there again.Around a year later, I again had a flat and brought the car there again. They determined that their repair had not held (it was still in place but seeping air) told me that in an up-front manner, and replaced the patch at no charge. Very impressive!
This place is the worse. I showed up and asked how long for an inspection the guy Said 20minutes and they had me waiting for over an hour. And they failed my inspection cus my light wasnt working. Never going there again. The guy in the front desk is always his cell phone also. WORSE COSTUMER SERVICE EVER.
Firstly, this was my first visit at the Bway location, its definitely not my last. I had a great experience with the management (Harry). Its always nice to find someone whos knowledgeable, professional and courteous as the staff at this location.My 2008 GMC Yukon had a few issueswhich needed the right touch. I highly recommend this location if your vehicle needs TLC..Thank you Mavis....
I think the 5 star reviews aren’t real. Not a terrible shop but they definitely don’t like explaining things. You don’t see the bill or get an explanation until after you sign. You can ask questions but they’re surly and of avoid talking so you feel like you’re being aggressive if you do try to find out what’s going on.I came in with a bad tire, completely flat. They couldn’t find the leak. So the sales guy come Sofer and is like “your tire is really old, it’s bald, very dangerous, won’t pass inspection”. Which is weird because the AAA guy looked at it when he was taking it off and said it was fine. They should just plug it. Attaching a picture of the tire. It didn’t look bald to me.The reason why the review is 3 stars is that they didn’t want to charge me. Basically I could either buy a new tire or walk away paying nothing. Which is fine. I suppose.Eventually wound up ~200 for a new tire. The guy wouldn’t look at me, was impossible to get him to explain anything so I had to pick at random.Should say that the place was very busy. Lots of uber drivers (who were pretty aggressive with the staff and the manager). It’s probably a good place if you already know your stuff or have a more combative personality.
1. I made an 8:00 Appointment for oil change and tire rotation. Got there at 7:30 (anyway) to limit my waiting time because I KNEW the appointment was virtually meaningless - it appears to be first-come-first serve. At 8:20 they still hadnt started working on my car. When I asked, I was told the mechanics regularly come in late and theres nothing they could do about it. Crazy!2. I asked for 5W-30 Full synthetic oil. I watched them pour the oil from a pre-filled container, so I have no idea what they actually put in my car.3. I asked for tires to be checked and inflated for colder temperatures. This was not done until they told me the car was completed, and I reminded them.4. Tire rotation was done in a manner inconsistent with what was specified in my owners manual. When I asked, they said it didnt matter for radial tires. Not sure if this is true or not.5. Everybody I dealt with was very courteous and polite. In the end, they discounted the service by $10.00 - I assumed as some level of compensation.I wont be going back
Not once or twice, but three visits I had to make here because they can’t balance tires. The second they broke the rim center cap and tried to glue it saying it was old that’s why it broke. I had to speak to the manager to have them order one when they were hesitant. Went back again to pick the piece up and have them redo the balance and came out worse. Went back the third time and they did the balance and made it no diffenece. To make it worse they did a wheel alignment WITHOUT telling me they were going to do it and I only found out once I noticed my car on the lift and it was halfway done. So now my car shakes at 60 STILL, and my alignment is completely off and pulling to the left. So I have to pay again for another wheel balance and an alignment that they did without asking me to do. They are costing me much more money. They will never work on my car again and I’m writing to the better business bureau. This place is the worse.
Going to Mavis was a very positive experience, they replaced a damaged tire, replaced hi beam headlight and did NYS Inspection. Harry handled everything and he was very efficient and a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend Mavis at 5760 Broadway! Shaun had ordered tire yesterday and it was in stock as promised!
Mavis is a great place for tires...and things like brakes...their prices are great and the mechanics are well qualified...work is always complete in a timely manner and with great care I definitely recommend Mavis for your tire and brake needs.....very happy with their service and care to me as a customer .
Family road trip had us passing through New Jersey to New York over the George Washington Bridge. We picked up a screw in a tire at the toll right before the bridge. Mavis had us patched up and back on the road in under an hour! Looks like they are a pretty well oiled machine over there judging by how they were moving through cars and customers. The guys helping us were friendly, the price was right, and they fit us in even though they were pretty busy. Thanks Mavis team!
HARRY & HIS TEAM ARE THE BEST!!!Whether he has 15 cars in his garage or I am the only one Harry ALWAYS makes me feel like I am most important. I wish all local companies ran their businesses like Harry does! I know I can only give 5 stars but I want to give 10 stars!!
Good prices however tires were balanced incorrectly, when returning the car they tried to blame it on the rims. After rebalancing the tires the car drove fine.Also had to call and confirm the tires I requested had arrive and called to see if the the work on my car was completed rather than the customer service team calling to notify me.
Three hours to change two front tire.😡 I went there first thing in the morning, it wasn’t busy. The thing is that they told me it would take 45 to an hour, but it’s not true. if I knew it would take three hours I would go to a different place. I will definitely not go back and don’t recommend to anyone I know
Been there 3x. the supervisor has always had an attitude but I never paid no mine until yesterday his attitude was ridiculous. very very rude and I will never be back to them. he tried to tell me tires i was installing arw garbage and wont help in snow. when my vehicle was finally done I had to pull my car out myself and find the lug lock myself cause nothing was handed to me professionally.
Unless my car has to go to the dealership for some odd reason, I always take it to Mavis on Broadway. They back up their tires..are timely in their work. If my car needs a lot done and I have limited funds, they take the time to help me prioritize what needs to be done first to keep it safe and running until I can get each thing fixed. Never have had a bad experience.
Mavis installed a muffler in 2016. It broke.The original muffler lasted 14 years. It lasted through NYC potholes and 2 rear end crashes.The manager said it must have been hit. It wasnt He had me pay $277 to replace his cheap mufflerMavis does not stand behind its work and its parts.The cheapest mufflers usually last 5 years; the better ones last 14 years and more.The car still makes muffler soundsDont go here for service
Used to like this place, got new tires and kept hearing bad vibration told them it sounded like a wheel bearing. Got I back said the did alignment and balanced wheels but that my wheel was bent. Took it to a place to have the wheel straightened and they told me it wasnt bent. Took it to a specialist who told me that the wheel bearing was bad and that it needed alignment, I told him the wheels were just aligned, he told me the wheels were never aligned.
I had 2 tires replaced yesterday and the others checked. This morning the low pressure light was lit on my dashboard. I went to Mavis to have this checked out. There were about 4 people signing customers in. The tall guy without a uniform handled me. He was rude and nasty when I told him my problem, mumbling under his breath and making me feel really uncomfortable. He told me to wait in the waiting room when I stood in the office. I said Id wait until the problem was checked out and he stood next to me trying to intimidate me into moving into the other room. I have never experienced such a hostile environment!! I will NEVER go to this store again!!
I called ahead of time and was told there was a sale on the tired I wanted. They told me they would call me when my service was done. Two hours later, I returned even though they never called me. Not only did they not call after finishing their work, they claimed there was no such sale and refused to honor the price. What low service.
Very pleased. Michelins for my Lexus RX350 purchased end of 2015 were mounted and run great. Just returned due to a low tire pressure warning light, thinking I had a flat tire, but no - they were all low due to the sudden change to cold weather in NYC. They checked all the tire pressure, and did tire rotation - NO CHARGE - and with a very pleasant attitude. Thank you!June 2018Recently had struts and brakes replaced on both vehicles we own. Service and courtesy is very good. Prices more than fair for work done. They also did oil change and other minor maintenance, as well as alighnment. VERY PLEASED.July 2019Still riding of those Michelins bought in Dec. 2015. Returned for rotations and alignment, which feels like a necessity at least once per year.Still quite pleased with Mavis in Riverdale.
Went there because I thought I had damaged my car rim and to buy a new tire. After their inspection I was told that the rim was fine. I said great and proceeded to tell them that I wanted the same exact model tire that was on the other three good tires. I was told that I had to wait for at least 2 1/2 hours and they would call me when they were ready. Ok, no problem, I would wait.I waited, no call so I went back. On my return they said the tire was there. They put it on, everyone was very attentive and friendly. I also had a wheel alignment done.I then drove to a car wash and while they were putting Armorall on my tires I noticed that the tire was of a different make!! I called the office, spoke to a very rude worker and was told to come back, that they would give me the tire that I paid for. No apology, nothing!When I was there they acted very cold and non caring towards me. After the correct tire was placed on the car I was then told that the rim was bent! How could this be?? I was just told that the rim was fine. that is why I purchased a new tire and got an alignment! If the rim was not good why didnt they say that from the beginning so I could have purchased a new rim?? and certainly not have gotten an alignment!LADIES BEWARE! I do not advise you to go near this place! I am filing a complaint with the Consumer Affairs department!
Great service with Harry. The other 2 guys working there have bad attitudes and just rude to me. I only go when Harry is there. I went one time when Harry wasnt and almost lost it with the 2 other workers there. I dont know why they are like that with me. But its annoying already.
Im a girl who knows nothing about cars and I trust these guys. I left the last star out because they have no strating for people who are waiting. I have a feeling this is by design because they dont want people to wait? I really have no idea but it causes everyone to stand around in front of the garage, inside the shop where for insurance reasons people are not allowed to go, and inside the retail area. The no chairs thing isnt working
I had terrible experience..I made an order via telephone for 2 front replacement Cooper tires..when I arrived at the store in Riverdale I was told there were no Cooper tires on sale. In fact, they were out of Cooper tires. Nika tires were substituted on my order and they cost more than the Cooper tires ordered over the phone..it was a classic bait and switch.
This place is constantly packed. There are always pushy people trying to crowd the entrance and the service desk. Always a queue of cars. It was so busy the day I went. The work was never performed. They said the printer was busted so I couldnt get a receipt. Although a fleet vehicle, it could have been anyone. Not cool!
This was the first time I was ever in this Midas location. Have to say that I am very hesitant when it comes to mechanics. These mechanics are great and most importantlyt very honest. My car came out driving like a queen!!! They did some major overhaul work in the front end. I would defintily come back here! Great place and great workers. All profesional and nice!!
Another great service at my Riverdale Mavis.My 2011 Hyundai Sonata needed annl. inspection, oil change & tire rotation.Service writer Dante told me itd be ready around an hour & half. It was done sooner than expected. I was so happy & it was convenient. Another great & fast job completed by my Riverdale Mavis.Thanks to Dante & the whole Mavis team!!As usual I will return soon!!
Stay away from this place. Bunch of con artist. Sold me 4 new tires, few months later one develops a bubble. They tell me its from driving with low tire pressure and sell me a roadside warranty and replace the tire . Two months later same new tire develops a bubble this time they say its from potholes, replace the tire and charge me again for a warranty and balancing. Last time coming here or any Mavis with any of the three cars I bring here. Filing complaint with consumer affairs
The Kingsbridge Mavis tire shop has my seal of approval. Harry and staff know their stuff and always allow you to make the choice. They do recommend maintenance that you can pass on. Overall they will not take you for a ride as others in the neighborhood are known to do.
This Place is the worst , they charge for a wheel alignment even though knowing that it will not work on the car because of different tire size . I go back there and they refused to give me a refund .i will report them to the BBB about this .taking advantage from hardworking people to be honest and fourthright but this place is truly a bad place to do business in i do not recommend it to anyone
The guy below doesnt understand how tires work. If you hit a pothole or a crack road, youll get a bubble on the tire. The bubble means you cut inside the tire and it needs to be replaced. If you dont replace it, next time you hit a pothole, the tire will burst which is due to road hazard damage. Extremely common esp in NYC. Futhermore, these guys were real cool and even gave me a discount on a tire. I will come here again!

They are always courteous and respectful.I have been to many service stations in the area over the years, and hands down they are tops.They are more than just a discount tire business. They provide full automotive service, and are honest and reliable.I would highly recommend them for all your automotive needs, and not just for tires.

2022-03-08I like this location as there is a big waiting room as I prefer to wait and see for myself what needs servicing vs go home and take my chances if theyre being honest. As for Harry I found him to be a no nonsense but overall good guy.

2022-05-16My new go to mechanic. Previous shop I used had to relocate because of new zoning, wish I had come here sooner. I have an older model car, 2003 Nissan, after I brought it in its running like new. Highly recommend.

2021-07-07The first time I came here I had a great experience. The second time was a complete opposite. The first guy I approached that was working today seemed to have an attitude as though he hated his job and wasnt really welcoming at all.Even after getting my oil changed, no one came to tell me it was done. They just put the key in the envelope at the desk inside. I happened to look out the window into the garage and didnt see my car. The guy asked me what I was looking for and I said, My car. He said, Oh heres your key. Its out there!I was given my key and told to search around for my car, but I came back and told someone else I wasnt going to keep walking around in 102° weather looking for my car when someone could have called me from the waiting area when they finished. Especially after being told to wait an hour and a half. One of the workers finally said Ill go get it, and parked it by the garage door.I guess this is their way of saying they no longer want my business. Ill only return to exercise the warranty on the 4 tires I purchased in March of 2021 if I have to.

2020-06-30Really nice honest people at this Mavis location - Harry, Sharon, Angel. I had been to the dealer for warranty work and they said I needed front and back brakes. Harry agreed with the front but didnt see a need to do the back brakes. On top of that they were 25% less!
