You don’t even deserve a star!!I took my car here for an inspection at 10am and had to call at 1pm to check on it. They told my husband 40 minutes. They did call 40 minutes later and told him it didn’t pass, that the car needed tires, though the tires on the car at less than 3 years old and the car hasn’t done more than 10,000 miles within those years. He went to pick up the car and the guy then mention the car didn’t pass cause it needed pads as well. This is the second time we have brought a car for an inspection there and they told us we need something else done. We will never be coming back here. In the end the car did pass inspection just elsewhere.Don’t bring your car here if you need it inspected.

Got tires a years ago went back for a flat repair that was covered. But they just plugged my tire not patch the tire. Nobody ask me how I would like to have it fixed.

I cannot recommend Mavis enough. Servicing a car can be quite a daunting experience. However, at Mavis, Teddy made the process easy and efficient. He was truly accommodating and understanding.My teenage daughter took her car their for servicing. They were honest, explained what was needed in detail and provided the best pricing in the area. I was beyond impressed with their customer service.The team at Mavis went above and beyond to provide the best service at the best price.I cannot recommend Mavis enough. We will be using them exclusively for our car servicing needs.

Mavis in Wantagh is really amazing. I needed my car inspected and took it to a local mechanic. As soon as I got home the owner called to tell me I needed brakes and wiper blades. I asked for the price and be said between$900-$1000. . It sounded like a lot. My cousin has been to Mavis before and was happy with the work done and the price was fair. I called them gave them the make and model and he came back with a price just for the brakes far less than what I was quoted. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my car back for any work needed
Teddy was great at breaking everything down for me and Alan was my mechanic. He figured out exactly what was wrong with my car and fixed it beautifully. Cars running better than ever. Pricing was better than expected.

While I initially had an issue at this location, the regional director called me to apologize and the store manager made it right by offering a discount on 4 new tires and doing the job at my earliest convenience.I appreciate the professional response.Original issue was that I came out to buy specific tires that were available at this location and was told I would recieve a call when the job was done later that day. I didnt recieve a call. When I returned all employees had left for labor day and the car had never been serviced. My key was locked inside the building while my car was sitting in the parking lot unlocked. This left me stranded and I had to leave my car there until Tuesday morning when they reopened. After I discussed it with the manager, and he discussed it with his mechanic, he admitted the mistake and offered to make it right.

Frustrating experience. Had an appointment for tires and an alignment at 8am. Showed up at 8 and said I was waiting for my car. At 9:30 I found out the alignment technician was not yet in. My tires were done but no alignment. At 10:30 I finally gave up (2 hours and 30 min after I arrived) and took my car home with new tires no alignment. Person behind the desk said they would call to reschedule, three days later...no call. I will take my business elsewhere.*Update* Mavis Team was certainly attentive to this review. Received an immediate email followed by a call back to discuss the issue. Very kind and even offered a voucher for future service. Hoping for a better experience next time. Thank you for your customer service after the fact Mavis.

Had damage done to the drivers side door while car was serviced here. Tried getting in touch with the local regional manager for A MONTH, and no one can seem to rectify this or even give us a call back (after 7 messages). Now involving Mavis corporate so we can get this fixed (and our own insurance company) -- extremely unprofessional to just ignore a customer when damage was done by their team. Wont be returning of course, and wont be referring others here.

The worst customer service. They should be shut down. This Mavis was great a few years ago but now it is absolutely the worst. The customer solutions department does nothing. You put faulty parts in cars and the list goes on. My tire fell off my car after doing brakes with you while I was driving. You should be shut down asap!!! Very dangerous shop!!! This is 100 percent true and I have plenty of documentation to back up my review! I would be happy to show you Mr. Owner!! My husband is having problems now with his car that you just serviced. Mr. Owner if you would like to speak with him you will see that everything in this review is accurate and true. Instead of discrediting your customers you should get to the bottom of what is going on in your shop. Investigate all of these bad reviews because when you scroll down you will see that all of these bad reviews cannot be false.
Came to Mavis close to closing time due to getting something in my tire that required patch work. Teddy didn’t hesitate to help me quickly. I was in and out so quickly. Amazing service.
The staff here are professional honest and perform outstanding work. Ted and his staff are honest and upfront about service and cost. I have tried other places for service but with the service I have received from Ted and his staff they have added a loyal customer. This place is great.
I have been into several Mavis tire store, but nothing like this one. Customer service was great. Store was clean and my car was done in a timely manner as I was told. I walked in 15 minutes before closing, on a hot, steamy night stressed out with a nail in my tire, before a 3 day weekend. I was greeted warmly by Teddy and his team. Before I knew it they had pulled my car in, located the metal in my tire, removed it and fixed tire. I was so relieved and impressed. They’re great!
The guy behind the counter didn’t have a mask on. Another customer didn’t have his mask on either. No one was social distanced. Service was very bad and unrealistic timing on fixing my car. Rude customer service and lazy employees. Every other Mavis I go to I never have a problem I’ve been to this one twice and every time they give a problem for no reason.

Ive been using Mavis for years in Bellmore, however this was my first time at the Mavis in Wantagh. Excellent, fair, honest, reasonable. As a woman on my own the staff has built my trust. I have always been given accurate information when repairing my vehicle. I have never had a bad experience here.
Found a screw in my tire at the very last minute and tried 3 other places, neither was able to take me in at that moment. I saw here was still open and went right in. They were great, so pleased they were able to take my car in right then and there!
My friend had a great experience with mavis tires. There was an issue between him and another customer bothering him. Manager Joe was awesome! He took care of him and hooked him up with great tires
Great crew in this shop, both the manager Terry and general manager Joe are awesome. They helped me out after I had a serious issue and made sure I was taken care of. The crew members are honest hard working. If there is any mavis you should go to, its this one.

Great customer service.. my battery was dead.. as soon as I was able to jump start my car they took my car as soon as I got there and my battery was changed within 10 minutes and I was on my way. Thank you!
My wife dropped her car off at around 10am to get 4 new tires, and didnt receive any word about it all day until she called around 4pm. She was told the car would be ready by 4:45, and when she she arrived wound up having to wait until after 5pm to get her car back. No explanation or apology was offered for them taking the entire day to do a simple job. She was then charged more than what she was initially quoted for what seemed like a dubious reason.Seems clear to me that they forgot about her car all day.
Top notch service across the board. Shabear, who runs the shop, is extremely helpful, thorough, fair and honest. The mechanics are personable and knowledgeable. The entire team takes utmost pride in their work and it shows. The shop is extremely busy yet they somehow manage to keep everyone moving while maintaining the highest level of service. My wife found a completely flat tire on our car. She called Mavis and fortunately found out they were open for the next hour. Teddy did a good job talking her through what to do. We were able to get enough air in the tire to bring it in. They immediately went to work on got us a new tire and on the road again. The entire team was great and that is why we continue to use them each time we need tires or have an issue. Thanks Teddy and team

The guy helped me out with the price, understanding that I only had so much money. He truly went above and beyond for me and it meant a great deal! Having worked as a mechanic and have friends that are mechanics, I have grown a distrust for most auto motive repair facilities and feel the big name places are going to be overpriced. However, this Mavis discount tire changed my mind on that. Don, the only guy behind the counter on a Sunday, was great . Got a fair price for four tires and alignment . Not only did he make feel not ripped off, but he went above board by staying open later than he had to accommodate everyone. He even held his cool as one Ahole customer was giving him greif about his last minute flat being fixed .Kudos to you Don. I recommend this place highly.

I got a nail in my tire and went there to fix it. I told them to patch it and they ended up plugging it. Thats the least of my concerns. After the nail was plugged, I went home and noticed that my car tire PSI sensor was not working.(it said I had a flat when actually the tire pressure was at 36psi) it WAS working before the took off the rim. So I drove around for a few days hoping itll recalibrate itself, I didnt. So I called the shop and told them what happened and the manager told me to bring in. When I brought it in and refresh his memory he tells me oh the sensor was already broken you can see his facial expression change as if I caught him in a lie. I told him so why didnt you guys tell me that day, he said we were just trying to go home. So then I told him you are just saying that now. He said we can check the cameras. I woulda played his bluff and actually went through the camera footage with him if I didnt have to go to work. So Then he tells me I would have to buy a new sensor and it cost $65. If they had told me it was broken that day they were fixing the car I wouldve said no problem. But they messed it up and wont own up to their mistake. I would suggest staying away from this Mavis, the manager is a liar.
Let me start off by saying i run a repair shop and know all the games that are played when it comes to shops.I found a nail in my tire on a Sunday and did not want to risk it becoming an issue so I took it to Mavis hoping they could have me in and out in a reasonable time. After talking with another customer who had been waiting before me he had expressed his frustration that he had been waiting a long time to just have his tire looked at. They claimed they could not fit his car in any other repair bays except for one which had a car in it already.The service writer was in the back talking with his girlfriend who by OSHA standards is not allowed to be in the shop. No one would have cared had the service been better.Every time a customer had asked why they needed a part/service done to their vehicle the service writer would come up with a bogus excuse that anyone with car knowledge would know is redundant.Anyway, when it finally came to having my car looked at, they did not even attempt to pull the small nail I had in my tire out, no attempt to plug it or patch it.Mind you the car is brand new and the tires are new and they were trying to sell me on a $300 tire when I did not need one. When I had asked if they could just plug it for me so I could be on my way they said they could not company policy. I kindly asked for my keys back and will be plugging it myself. I understand there is more money in selling me a new tire however I didnt need a new tire nor did I ask for anything other than a plug.Unless you absolutely need to, and dont mind waiting around for hours just to have a nail looked at, avoid this Mavis at all costs. There are many more reputable tire shops within a few miles from this shop that wont try to sell you on things you dont need every time.

Theres one technician here, I think his name is Lloyd, who always goes above and beyond. He really knows his tires, brakes, and all components connected to them. Another garage had replaced a valve incorrectly on one of my tires. Lloyd caught it when I came in for air. He explained the problem and fixed it. I could have had a blow out/accident if he wasnt so astute. At all times he is helpful, caring, nice, and really good at his job. I highly recommend this Mavis. Other Mavises are not as good.
This is my first ever review, good or bad. I’ve been coming to this location for a couple of years now. Although this shop gets very busy at times, the guys here are always diligent and helpful. Like a good mechanic, a good tire shop is hard to find. Recommend.
Needed NYS inspection in 3 days & my usual center was unable to get me in. I went to Mavis & he told me return by 4pm & my inspection was completed in 20 mins!! Thank you!!

Watch out! They just want to sell you on things you dont need. Went in because my car was pulling to the right really bad. I knew I might need front tires replaced. I get the call that I need all four tires replaced, and new suspension which would cost $1010. I said take it down, Im not paying that. On my way to pick up the car I get a call saying they talked to the manager and the work would now be $668. I said no thanks. They basically admitted they were ripping me off to begin with. Went to another mechanic (American Muffler in Westbury) who said I just needed new tires. Saved me $400. Car fixed and rides nice and straight. Mavis just wants to sell you things you dont need. Be warned!

Absolutely Disgusted with the complete lack of Customer Service , We had brought a vehicle in after breaking down, for 3 days we received the run around and numerous excuses and the vehicle was never looked at while new customers were brought in and taken care of for 3 days while our vehicle was ignored. Absolutely Unacceptable treatment. We were forced to have the vehicle towed a second time to a different Mavis location that took our vehicle right in. We are completely disgusted by the unacceptable mistreatment, lack of customer care and overall horrible experience..

Its upsetting the lack of professionalism in this shop. They are clueless, Im sure theres some good mechanics there but unfortuantly I had an experience with a women who thought it was more important to text on her cellphone then talk to me about my vehicle. I will never bring another car back to a Mavis tire just based on Wantaghs location.

Honestly, I usually have a hard time with car places. They usually try and tell me I need the world and there is soo much wrong with my car but not this place! Chris was awesome and I forgot the other mans name but he had very short buzzed hair, older gentleman, he actually worked on my car and he was awesome as well. They were both so nice! I really liked the location as well and how it looked inside. They even had a kids section with a tv that was playing movies for them! If u need anything with tires. I highly recommend this place!!
Want to take some time to review this Mavis , this past summer 2019 took my Toyota RAV4 for a catalytic converter and 02 sensors installation,Shabbir the Manager was extremely knowledgeable about the situation. Mr.Shabbir has a great team of people who are effectively efficient and Mr. Shabbir also got a lot done to fix this issue because of smog and NYS Inspection. Poppy the mechanic who worked on the car was awesome along with Mr Shabbir and Mohammed and the whole team ! I definitely recommend Wantagh Mavis !! Ty Mr. Shabbir and everyone Awesome Work !!! Have been coming to Mavis Tire in Wantagh for a couple of years now. They are very honest, reasonable, and pleasant to deal with. Sal and Harry managers are both teriffic. Where most other repair shops including my vehicle dealerships have tried to sell hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs, Mavis has never tried to oversell or make repair suggestions on things not needed. I trust them!!! Good for most repairs, oil changes, tires, brakes, etc.

I have been a Mavis Cuctomer for years....Until NOW.....Im out of state and my 20 yr old son calls me to tell me his battery light came on, of course I tell him to bring it to Mavis . The Battery light turned into an Alternator, Starter, and Power steering Fluid and Brake Fluid that Must be flushed, Ive never seen an Alternator and a Starter go at the same time, he had No problem starting his car, also $80 each for the 2 system flushes,which the car was not brought in there for. This bill turned into a 1300. Bill. I feel they took advantage because he was a kid and wanted to make as much money as they could off this kid. Never again.......
They quickly diagnosed the screw in my tire as too close to the rim to plug. They offered me the exact same Bridgestone tire for my 2016 Honda CRV-EXL for $195. I called Honda City service and their price was $104 with free balancing of all four tires.........might pay to shop around.

This place does good work but there is a ridiculous amount of up selling and they are way over priced. They get one star because they had my car all day and i still had to wait an hour after they closed for my car. Thats very very very unacceptable.
Its an okay place to buy tires, depends on who you deal with. They charge you for everything right down too the air plug for the tire so make sure you get a deal before you have the tires put on!

Had a flat tire stop right in front of Mavis discount tire they did not even help us they said the van will not fit inside their lot all you had to do was get a Jack and change my tire I already had the spare out they did nothing to help I called us roadside assistance came in 20 minutes in front of their lot and fixed us and we were on our way Mavis discount tire you should be ashamed of yourself and go out of business we broke down in front of your business and you couldnt help us are you serious it was a Sunday by the waythank you us roadside assistance and no thank you Mavis.
So the brake pads have a lifetime warranty but are designed to fail after about 20k miles so now you have to go back and pay for labor to install new pads which is the same cost as the original install. What a scam.

The crew here is ran a by a young hungry go getter named Jose. Professional, honest and kind plus very helpful, while simultaneously holding his crew accountable. Ill drive to wantagh for their service instead of my local east meadow mavis. Its really hard to find an honest efficient repair shop. After trying many mavis locations, i will only go to the wantagh location now. Jose and his crew are #1 in my area. You should deffinitely give them a shot.

My 75 year old Father dropped off a set of a wheels to swap over for the winter, they made him drop off and put back the 20 inch wheels into the van without any help. What kind of cruel service is this? Also, $105 to swap wheels? I dont recommend this place to anyone.

I was the second person in the place at 9am when they opened and the only person waiting for service. I was only getting a NYE inspection and 2 tires. It took over an hour for them to bring the car in and just short of 3 hours to complete. Way WAY to long for this, especially at a tire store.

2022-02-22I want for a car inspection and passed. However, the mechanic tried to sell me brake pads which they had in stock and were ready install. I took another car to be inspected and it Failed due to brakes, which once again, they already had the brakes I needed in stock and were ready to install. I knew my brakes were good and went to get a second opinion from a trusted mechanic. It turns out my brakes were 100% fine and the Mavis in Wantagh were trying to sell me something(brakes) which I didnt need. Stealing from customers by purposely (failing) an inspection and sell them the solution (brakes) which they didnt need is both an abuse of power for a certified NY inspector and criminal in my opinion. Mavis Discount Tire can be good for flats, etc, but do not get your car inspection from them.

2022-06-28I went in with a nail in my tire. Took me in right away. Showed me how worn my tires were and they were able to get me two new tires on my car right away. Very quick service and very pleasant people working there.

2022-07-01Came here to get brakes diagnosed for my Jeep ahead of a roadtrip. The mechanic said they needed replacing, and that the brakes would be ordered and they would reach back to me in a few days to do the job.Of course, I never got a call back.I took my Jeep to a local, highly reviewed mechanic that specializes in Jeeps to do the fluids, and asked for them to take a look at the brakes. I was told that they are more than halfway new and in no need of replacing at all.I guess Im glad I never got that call back. Avoid unless you want to be charged for unnecessary work.

2022-03-10These guys are scammers. My wife got a flat tire that needed replacing, I called with the specific tire size and was given a price for a new tire balanced and installed. I was told they had the tire and to come right down they were pulling the tire down as we spoke. when my wife went they pulled her car in changed the tire and when she went to pay they were charging her $100 more than what I was quoted on the phone. When she argued they told her they didnt have the tire they quoted me so they gave her a better top of the line tire. She was there 10 minutes after we spoke on the phone how could they not have the tire they just said they had, and why wasnt she informed of this prior to billing her. They are liars and scam artists and I wont even go into what I told them when I got on the phone with them, but they ended up changing the tire the next day to the one I originally ordered but still charged me over $20 more than the original quote. NEVER AGAIN MAVIS! youre not the only Tire shop in town...

2022-07-02Do not go here. They lied and told me my tire was unrepairable brought the same tire to a local mechanic on Merrick road and said the tire was fine and plugged. They are deceiving and will lie just to get a couple of dollars out of you. I know most places are a little shady but this is ridiculous. Plus the disgusting language in front of my wife was just beyond unprofessional.

2022-05-03I had an appointment to get a tire replaced. When I arrived I was told that the appointment would not be honored because workers had to leave early. I told them that this was unacceptable as I needed the car for work. The manager accused me of being an American. I am an immigrant and proud to be an American. You get a star because I cant post without giving you a star.

After an absolute horrendous experience with Kumar (who really should not be a manager in this place. Corporate should really reevaluate who they have running their showrooms) but again thank you Justin for taking care of my situation and saving a customer for the future.
