ZERO STARS. Very unprofessional! I missed out on a rental opportunity because Thompson would not take my calls. I simply wanted to schedule a viewing. I texted first as he requests on his voicemail I wont respond to any voicemail- after numerous unnecessary drawn out texts that led nowhere he said he didnt have time and would call me back later- he didnt. When he FINALLY took my call (after another 10 tries) he said the rental was taken and blamed it on me for not being proactive enough!

My landlord was a great guy and took amazing care of the property and in no way does this review pertain to him. As far as the Maxwell property management and its owner Thompson go, easily the least professional and disguisting display of managment I have ever been subject to. The man will take your security deposit and say the cleaning fee was exorbitant when in reality that is not the case. Hes a liar and hes delusional, beyond that hes creepy, inappropriate and doesnt recognize the nuances of professional courtesy. To give you an idea,hes a property manager whose voicemail reads dont leave a voicemail ,text me because I wont respond to a voicemail, God forbid the property had an emergency situation. Please do not engage in business with him because he will wrong you, im not the sort to write a review nor a scathing review but id feel bad if someone didnt head this advice and got burned in the same manner.

Thompson is an amazing and experienced property manager, he has managed our property for two years now and we have nothing but great things to say about his management. He is responsive and knowledgeable in his field. Thompson has made renting our home a stress free experience!

I was in the Navy for 10 years. I was stationed in Ballston Spa, NY for my last 3 years. During that time, I purchased a 4-unit apartment building. I managed the property myself and didn’t really have any problems.When I got out of the Navy and got a Job in Pittsburgh I knew I needed a property manager to manage my building. I searched around the area and interviewed a couple of companies. When I came across Maxwell Property Management, I had a really good feeling about it and had a great interview with Thompson. I then asked my real estate agent and broker if they had any thoughts about Maxwell Property Management and this other company I was deciding on. Without hesitation both of them had said, “definitely go with Thompson, I have heard nothing but good things about him for the past 20 years around this area” Pretty much right there my decision was made. I have been nothing but happy since I have hired him.A couple months after he took over, we started to have some issues with a tenant. Thompson was in excellent communication with me the whole time and we eventually took care of the issues. If it weren’t for Maxwell Property Management, I would have lost thousands of dollars.I highly recommend Maxwell Property Management. Thank you!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible company to work with, tried to go backwards on their contract from day one, charged excessive cleaning fees AFTER they said the place looked good. Took advantage of a 100 service disabled veteran. Run run run away from this company. I will be filing a lien against the homeowner, and a small claims against this company. Additionally, a BBB report will be filed and the real estate Commission will be notified. Horribly unscrupulous firm. Do not do business with these people.

Thompson and his staff are a great team. If there were any maintenance issues that ever needed fixing, he would come over right away and fix it himself or the girls would have somebody else over very quickly. Thompson and his staff were also very accommodating and considerate in terms of pets as well. It was certainly a pleasure to have rented from such an understanding group. I would highly recommend renting from this management team if given the chance.

I wish I could rate zero stars. Avoid Maxwell Property Management at all costs!! If you are looking for a rental and they are listed as the property manager, run far far away and look elsewhere. They are not worth your time or money. The owner, Thompson Herrick, is rude and condescending and doesnt give a hoot about anything but his wallet. Any money you put down for a security deposit you will likely never see again, no matter how good of a tenant you were or how the move out inspection goes. They force you into using their own cleaning company for move out even though its not stipulated in the lease. And if you do not comply and use another company, they threaten to withold part of your deposit to cover cleaning costs because they will send them in anyway after you move out and the inspection is done.If anything needs to be repaired or any issues addressed, expect to be given the runaround all the time. The staff there has very poor communication skills, they never respond in a timely manner, and dont care.If you are currently renting, keep written records of all issues you communicate to them and they do not address. They WILL hold these issues against you when you move out. Get everything in writing. And get a lawyer.If you are a homeowner looking to rent your home out, do not use this company. You are paying good money for a property manager and Maxwell does NOT give the properties they are being paid to oversee the care or attention they deserve.Google this company and see the bad reviews on yelp and elsewhere. They are bad news.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Driven completely by profit. Definition of slum lords. They dont take care of maintanance requests in any kind of timely fashion. I put in a maintance request to fix our back fence when we moved in last December, they said they wouldnt do it until spring. It never happened, even after second request, and then they waited for our lease to end in SEPTEMBER so that they wouldnt have to fix it. It took them over a week to fix the mailbox after their plow guy demolished it. Their maintance guy just walked in our house without any preamble or permission.You wont get your security deposit back either, as they force you to use a cleaning company they hire who are way overpriced. I cleaned the place myself and it was spotless, to the point that when I did my final walk through with their agent Tod, he even commmented on how clean it was. Yet, I was still charged over $600 in cleaning fees which isnt even itemized, other than a very vague description. Then to top off the overcharging, I was charged a percentage that gets paid to Maxwell. So of course they don’t mind the exorbitant prices.Their office is a mess as well, when we told them we were not renewing our lease they were awful about scheduling showings and we even had people show up that we never even knew about. Bottom line dont rent from them. They are an absolutely terrible management company and I would be appalled if they represented me.

This company is absolutely terrible to rent from! Thompson is purely driven by money, he gives off a shady vibe from the get go. They will nickel and dime you on every last thing. Dont expect to receive your security deposit back in a timely manner either. The cleaning company they FORCE you to use is way over priced for what they do. Whatever company they had snowplowing for them seemed to show up when they felt like it. The biggest storm of this winter and they didnt show up until days later. Forget about maintenance requests you will be better off fixing it yourself. The list goes on and on. I would not recommend them to anyone. Do yourself a favor and rent from someone else or have a lawyer ready. Id be embarrassed to have these people representing me if I owned a rental property.

Last summer my family and I relocated to Saratoga County for a new job assignment. Being new to the area we wanted to rent before buying. We were getting near the end of our house hunting trip and we were not having much luck. Then we met Thompson at a property. He was very courteous and professional. Since that property wasnt exactly what we wanted, he really went out of his way for us by taking us to two other houses on very short notice. Meeting someone in the area that we felt was looking out for our best interest was a huge boost to our morale and something that we hadnt found with other agents/realtors.After a couple of frantic days meeting him around town, we settled on a home in Saratoga Springs and since then weve had nothing but great service from his support staff in the office. Anytime we had an issue, we got a quick response, even right around the holidays.I would definitely recommend Maxwell Property Management to friends and family.
