MB Ramen - Huntington in other cities:
Without a doubt one of the best Ramen spots on Long Island. I might come here once a month but the food is spectacular. The staff are friendly and more than willing to have a conversation. For people that don’t eat pork their Shoyu has intense flavor and the broth has unreal depth. They have bar seating where you can see the food made fresh or sit down tables. Although space is limited they make the most of it. You will not be disappointed!
This place was phenomenal. Far exceeded my expectations. Excellent ramen menu. The Tan Tan was hot and spicy as advertised. The crispy chicken and shitake mushrooms in there brought the dish together. My daughter had the Shoyu which was also fantastic with the crispy chicken and bamboo. Additionally they were very accommodating. Very happy to adjust the dish for my not so adventurous youngest daughter. The service behind the counter was great along with the 2 gentlemen running the show. Will definitely return for another great meal.
Atmosphere is great and wonderfully decorated and I love the authentic kitchen bar however the food was mid. I had the takoyaki and tantan ramen for dinner and the takoyaki, I wish it had more tako pieces and the sauce on top felt more Korean than Japanese. Missing that umami flavor from the sauce that makes takoyaki so great. The ramen was alright, I was expecting spicy and flavorful like tantan should be. Instead, very rich and salty with chunks of fried meat which was tough to bite. I get that its not supposed to be authentic but it is kinda upsetting to have something named as a dish that doesnt really represent it.
This place is great. I went there with my family, everyone had a good time and ate their food. Our waiter Rad is the man, he added to the great experience. The ramen came out just as I like, spicy. We love the vegetable dumplings and had the jackfruit bao buns. Theyre buns are so so soft. I really like their buns, I could have eaten the heck out of all their buns. Im going to be talking about those soft bao buns for a while!
Delicious dishes of ramen and some fantastic art along the walls in the back (and even in the bathroom) of the restaurant! Eggs in the ramen arent runny or hard, the chicken and broth have great taste to them, and the bowls are well put together. A couple friends of mine go here at least once a week and I can see why they do it.
Easy to see right off of New York Avenue servicing Huntington Village and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Parking lot is near by. This place has a New York City vibe with Hip Hop music and Graffiti Style writing inside. No Japanese employees to be seen, especially in the cooking area. The staff is nice and accommodating. The Takoyaki was ok as were the Pork Buns. The Sticky Chicken Wings were good! The Broth for the MB Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, and Tokyo Ramen was very SALTY. Lots of flavor but I couldnt finish my bowl. If youre going to compare this place to Ramen shops in NYC, then dont go here. But if youre new to Ramen. Give this place a try.
I dont really like the soup here cause Im picky with Asia food but you can give them a try. The place is small and first come first serve so make so you pick a good time. About food, the soup is quite salty for me. Price is so so (14-15$/noodle). Staff are friendly. I saw a pair of shoe sitting on a top self right on top of cups and fridge. Not sure why they kept it there. No parking lot so you will need to find a spot on street
We came on a whim, not expecting much, but the food blew us away. My favorite ramen places are Ippudo and Ichiran, and to be honest MB Ramen can go toe to toe with them. I’m super happy I don’t have to go out of Long Island to get an excellent bowl of ramen. We had the pork bao buns, the Tan Tan, and the MB ramen. The Tan Tan was decently spicy. Fried chicken was a little greasy, but the broth and ramen texture are great. The MB ramen was super flavorful, full of complex, layered umami flavor and delicious toppings. The flavors are really interesting and unique, different from traditional Japanese flavors but still really enjoyable. Mouthwatering to even think back about. The owner was really friendly. The vibe is chill and the decor is full of popular Japanese media (Full Metal Alchemist was playing on the TV in the corner). We would definitely come back again.
Overview - MB Ramen has solidified itself as a Huntington Village staple amidst the variety of restaurants in town. Owned by two dedicated brothers with decades of restaurant experience. MB Ramen has gotten notoriety with Long Island’s own Grubfather on Instagram.Service- service is warm, friendly, and promptDesign - inspired by Stan Lee’s Marvel comics and Anime. The comics, action figures, and art work provides a casual and playful ambience.Culinary Science- the ingredients are of fresh quality along with flavorful rich combinations that can tasted with each bite. Quality prep of ingredients. The noodles are cooked to perfection. Not overcooked like other places. The pork is not grounded. The spicy miso has so much flavor that keeps you coming back for more.BEST RAMEN IN NEW YORK PERIOD!
Fun casual atmosphere with delicious ramen! The menu has a lot of ramen options with several broths for a variety of authentic flavors. The kitchen has a open concept where you can watch the chefs assemble your food behind the bar counter with seats for a more intimate dining experience. The inside of the restaurant itself is definitely an anime / comic fans paradise , the walls and ceilings are covered with art, comic book pages, anime figurines and more nerdy paraphernalia. Also, awesome hip-hop and rap soundtrack playing in house too.In the pictures: Tan Tan ramen, fairly spicy and incredibly savory. would recommend. Sticky Icky wings: a little spicy, sweet, gingery.Dont miss this cozy, nerdy ramen spot!
If youre looking for a quick meal, look elsewhere. I came on Saturday afternoon, and there was a wait - ok, expected. Was told 15 min, more like 25 min. Ok, fine. Sat down, ordered immediately. The ramen took over 30 minutes to come out - and all tables werent even filled, so it wasnt crazy busy. We finally got our ramen after complaining and about to walk out (because we had a movie to catch!).What I found most interesting was 2 guys walked in after us, were seated immediately, and got their food at least 10 minutes before us - while my friend and I had been waiting a long time. I also saw these 2 guys talking to the staff as if they knew them. So, why can they get their food quickly and I cant? The ramen was average, the noodles are store bought - saw them brought from the back the front in large bags. They dont have the deep spoons typically offered when eating ramen - just standard metal spoons. I couldnt enjoy my meal since the whole experience took way longer than expected and I had somewhere to be. (I wouldve thought over an hour more than enough time for RAMEN.) I might be willing to give this place one more try but 30+ min for ramen is unacceptable. I feel like they are understaffed so I hope they hire at least one more person to cook the food!
Hands down best ramen spot on long island Ive never had a single complaint about anything Ive ever had here. Severs are very chill and you never have to wait very long for your food. They hang peoples drawings up on the walls too its cool looking at the artwork people made, you can tell they care about their customers
My favorite ramen place on the island. Portions are HUGE, prices are beyond fair, and staff was courteous and attentive the whole time there. They have veggie ramen and bao bun options if you dont eat meat. I recommend trying the sticky icky wings and their namesake ramen, the MB Ramen. You wont be disappointed when you eat here!
Me and some coworkers ordered off of Doordash and we ordered alot of food. However the bag did end up breaking, leaving food on the ground and alot of sad and hungry workers. With a quick phonecall and some really amazing customer service, we were able to get our food accommodated. This restaurants staff are so patient and understanding that these things can happen. Thats what makes us strive for always improving our work environment and becoming better at helping others. The food here is so good too ! Ive ordered several times before and we will continue to support this business.
Pretty small place with a chill vibe, good food, pretty good service. The chef behind the bar was cool to chat with and watch him make food. Ive had the dan dan noodles(very good if you like spice) 2 different ramen bowls (tokyo& tori paitan) both very good, crispy chicken rice bowl was probably my favorite though with juicy crispy chicken and a nice spicy mayo drizzled ontop.
We recommend EVERYTHING here. From the cucumber salad to the sticky-icky wings to the ramen, the flavors are balanced and DEEP, with layers built painstakingly from high quality, fresh ingredients. Sit at the kitchen-bar and discuss the food with the chefs...get enlightened! Food (5.9/5!) Atmosphere (4.9/5) Service (5.5/5!)
Ordered the crispy chicken rice bowl for my lunch break thinking it was just your basic rice bowl with chicken and Mayo/barbecue sauce but I was pleasantly surprised to find the bowl was DELICIOUS!!! It was packed with pickled veggies and their chipotle sauce 😋 and I also had their ginger lemonade which was so refreshing wish I ordered a pitcher of it!!! Will Definitely be returning for more lunch/dinner munchies. Also shout out to the staff for being really friendly
Came here on a Wednesday night and was sat down right away. The place was small on the seating side but did not feel cramped at all. The service was prompt even if the waiter could not recall who ordered what when he brought the food to the table. An order of edamame was placed for a starter. The base season of sesame seeds and a tangy sauce was a nice twist. However, a little salt would have elevated the dish. For my entree I had the original MB Raman with pork belly and added a spicy sauce. The broth was rich and nice. The pork was cooked perfectly. The size of the dish was more than enough and didn’t leave you feeling over full.
The food here is amazing! I found this place on Google and wanted to try. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the long wait.I came one night with my kids and had to leave due to the wait. The next night came again without kids and still had a long wait. But the chef was very nice and recommended great opinions due to someone in our party having a food allergy. We tried 5 dishes all great. And we all had the Tan Tab Ramen it was amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and I will 100% recommended this spot very chill.
I celebrated my nomination last night in this gorgeous place. Well we enjoyed a phenomenal evening and the venue was absolutely one of the reasons for the successful celebration. The team participated in a very nice style, the food was great and my friends were extremely overjoyed. We shall absolutely return for more events. thanks very much.
The MB Ramen (the dish itself) and the Spicy Shio Ramen are the nectars of the gods. If youre ordering from this place for the first time, get one (or both) of those. You wont be disappointed. Their other ramen dishes are really excellent as well, but those two are absolutely amazing.
Arrived at 8pm and was told it would be a 20-30min wait to be seated. I chose to wait since I drove over half an hour to come give this place a try.Since I was waiting with my 4 year old in the freezing rain, we went to wait in the car. They never took my number down to call but we came back within in the right time frame only to be told they gave our table away and we have to wait outside again for the next one. The gentleman at the door insisted we stay outside right by the door and wouldnt even let us sit in the waiting area to the side to prevent catching a cold. This is very poor customer service! As for the food, it was decent. Ive had worse but Ive also had better. We tried a few things and the only thing that stood out was the sauce on the edamame beans. Price wise, it was more expensive than others.Ultimately Ill be sticking with my usual spot at Slurp Ramen, its a further drive but well worth it!
Honestly, its a cool place. The decor is fun, the restaurant is bustling, the music is fine; theyve definitely got a good vibe going.Ive tried most of the ramens on the menu and lately they just taste cartoonish if that even makes sense. The flavors are all very bold, but very salty or spicy. I just want to taste the complexity and richness of the broth, rather than the additives. Also, fried chicken in soup?Ill continue supporting because I like what theyre doing, but maybe add a healthy option to the menu? Or vary the flavors a bit more?
The BOMB! Have not dined in yet- but order from here like once a week! My partner (who is Japanese) introduced me to ramen (the kind that doesn’t come in a package 🤣) and we have tried just about every ramen place on Long Island and in the City. We are often disappointed but this place has gotten it right! Absolutely delicious and never disappoints!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our server was awesome. The food was incredible. The jackfruit bao was the stuff dreams are made of. I got the pickled cucumbers and you may think word its just pickles and youd be wrong. They were the perfect offset to any spice you may encounter if you order the shisto peppers which were some of the best I ever had. Now lets get down to the ramen. I got the veggie ramen. First off that broth was unreal. So yummy yet I wasnt left feeling like I ingested a ton of sodium. The entire ramen dish was incredible. I ate all of it. I cant wait to go back
Edited: it has been a while since my last time ordering from here. I appreciate that the owner reached out to me so quickly after my negative experience. though I didnt find out for quite some time and never got back to him. I wanted to change my review as things have improved and I do still wish to support this local business. the staff is great, they always seem happy to be there, like they truly enjoy the atmosphere they create. and the food is some of the best Ramen Ive ever had.
I LOVE MB Ramen!!!!!!!! I have been there several times and I am never disappointed. It’s only 20 mins away and even if it was further it’s worth the drive. The employees are nice awesome and helpful. The chefs are so cool and so talented. The aesthetics is great. I love chilling there man and I have spread the word. I can’t wait to go back again
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this little gem in Huntington 2 years ago and it’s our favorite ramen bar. We drive for almost an hour whenever we crave a warm spicy bowl of ramen (that Tan Tan tho 🍜...you have to get that for sure!!) and their bao buns. Had the pleasure of meeting the family that runs the spot and we love the way they work and the energy they put in to creating that perfect bowl of ramen to be enjoyed in fitting atmosphere. Solid 12/10 experience every single visit.
Its not Ramen, its pasta in hot water.UPDATE: The owner has now called me liar, so now Ill add my comments about its phony, tacky décor adorned with cheesy anime accessories found on wish.com. Of course, there was some Anime playing on the TV. So disingenuous. Now what, MB owner? Still think I didnt eat there? Tell you what. Ill give you the card number I used when I paid, and you can refund me. Hows that.
The food was tasty, but there were too many additions in the ramen. I have a personal preference to have my ramen simple, but delicious. Nevertheless, I would recommend that you give this place a try. I may customize my ramen in the future to be less loaded and still have the base I desire.
My boyfriend and I have come here several times and have never been disappointed! The employees are all friendly & personable, and the food is phenomenal. It’s very cool being able to sit at the bar and watch how everything is made. There’s a very laid back, comfortable vibe here that I can’t explain but we love everything about this place and will remain loyal customers.
Found this place on Yelp and the reviews were not bad, so decided to try it out.OOOF, it was not a good idea.I ordered the Veggie Ramen and literally got hit by the sea. It was so salty 🤮The tofu was quite crispy, but other than that, the soup was incredibly salty and almost inedible.Service was slow and took a while to even ask questions about the menu.Im not sure what others like about this place, but Id be wary of their ramen as its really, really salty (and not good).
There was point where I ate here at least once or twice a week. The ramen is delicious and almost everything on the menu is good. The staff is super friendly as well and I have never encountered any problems with service. My personal favorite ramen would have to be the Tori Paitan. The inside vibe is also very cozy and well decorated.
I rarely write reviews, but I had the most amazing experience here and is by far one of my new favorite places to go!! The whole atmosphere and the vibe of the place is so chill and relaxing. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner is one of the most chill and coolest guys Ive ever met. He takes the time to talk to you and is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcomed. He even let us be apart of a taste test for a new item! I thoroughly enjoyed being here and the food was absolutely amazing, and I definitely cant wait to go back again!
I’m blown away. I travel all around for good food and especially ramen and this place beats any I’ve ever been to before. I’ll start with the ramen. The noodle is the perfect texture where it has some bite and chew to it and is the perfect hydration to where it soaks up some of the broth but doesn’t get soft or soggy very easily. The broth has tons of umami and savory notes like nothing else. The aroma oil and tares shoot the flavor through the roof and the toppings just top of this work whether you choose the chashu, shrimp tempura or whatever else. If you’re even still reading this the sake, ginger lemonade, beer choice and bao buns were the bees knees so just stop on by. FINAL VERDICT: Would definitely go again
Wow! This place is great. The decorum is nice and the service is fast. Now let’s get to the ramen: this is probably the best ramen broth I have ever had. I had the “traditional Japanese” ramen and loved it. The bar seating reminded me of the great time I had while in Japan. In Tokyo many of the ramen spots only have bar seating so this was a nice surprise.
Amazing! Referred to by a friend and didnt disappoint at all! From the ambience of the place to the amazing authentic food on the menu!!! Great experience. Owner chatted with us and even let us be part of a taste test for a new menu item! Definitely need to try it out! Pork buns! Rice bowls and their RAMEN!!!!
This place has a good traditional bowl of ramen. Noodles are made before hand wish they were made fresh but it does keep the wait down. It was busy but I was still served in a timely manner, the hot sake is a must as well as the MB Ramen. The chefs are great very friendly I truly suggest sitting at the bar!
Dive bar meets Narruto. Narrow small restaurant with bar seating but instead of the bar, its a kitchen. Also has some tables further back. Narruto playing on screen. Prints of Asian comics on walls. Rap playing. Gives a cool ambiance. Staff were very attentive. Food came out very fast. We had white miso, veggie noodles and veggie dumplings. All, was delicious. Broth in the noodle soups was delicious.
Love this place, its a go-to for me every time Im in Huntington. The Sticky Icky wings are some of the best Ive ever had and Im a big fan of the Tan Tan Ramen (great if you like spice). The environment is cool and a fun place to go with friends, a date, etc. Definitely a new favorite with a good vibe in town.
Went on a Saturday afternoon. The food is very good, some things are a little salty. The noodles were cooked perfectly, broth was superb. Service is quick. The ambience is also why people go. Seems like something out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Liked the music. Small, so had to wait for a table.
Really dope spot.Staff are fun, friendly, helpful, attentive, and not too bad at dancing or singing along to their well curated hip hop.The atmosphere stands out, working with a blend of comics, hip hop, and anime. Not to mention the impressive collectibles collection that hangs above the bar.The food speaks for itself. Great flavor and great texture on both the pork buns and the Tan Tan Ramen I had. The ginger lemonade was a real treat (pretty sure its made in-house).Must stop spot in Huntington Village.
OMG! Finally a great Ramen spot in Long Island! The broth was amazing (the chef is gifted), the people were friendly, and the music was fun! Even their fresh lemonade was refreshing and tasty. It was a perfect way to treat myself. Ill definite be back for more of what they have to offer.
Had a nice experience here, and Id recommend it as a reliable ramen spot in Huntington.Came to meet a few friends at around 9 on a Saturday night. Had to wait about 10min to be seated. Friendly staff all around. I had heard that when this place opened the food was questionable, but this was not my experience at all.The ramen was delicious. The perfect amount of spice. The iced green tea hit the spot - unsweetened, just the way I like it. I left full and happy. Will definitely return. Love that its available for delivery as well!
The waiter was the best thing about this place. We couldnt believe how messed up our order was. It took us over an hour to get our meal and then half of the meals that were placed on the table were actually burnt. They were truly disgusting. We complained to the waiter and he immediately took them away and proceeded to make us new meals. Unfortunately half the meals came back different from what we had actually ordered. At this point it had been close to an hour and a half and we were too hungry to say anything, so we ate what we got. The owner was very nice and did offer our party free drinks. None of us enjoyed our meals, but I will say they serve good beer.
Fantastic ramen, came here looking to warm up and I got the right spot staff was friendly and attentive. I got the tan tan which was pretty spicy but had a lot of flavors. Not a lot of seating so get there before the rush, and it’s pretty cramped so don’t slurp to loud.
Ive ordered from mb a bunch of times and always had a great meal with easily 5 star quality ramen. My most recent order for takeout must have had an issue being packaged or something as I ordered a bunch of food and one of the ramen tops came loose in transit, upon getting home the bag had soaked with the liquid and teared right through the bag as It was lifted, called them up and they said not an issue, made me another one and as I got home they even included a pork gyoza on them for the mistake. Definitely will continue making this my primary ramen spot, thanks a bunch guys would rate you 10/5 if I could! Delicious and amazing food.
Prices are very steep on some items, like straight up robbery, such as $14 for an IPA BEER... especially while supporting them during quarantine. that put a bad taste in my mouth. The food is good. Inventive yet Traditional. Atmosphere has great swag. Unique addition to Huntington atmosphere. Shoyu bowl is my favorite.
We had the tan tan noodles (spicy but soooo good!) and mb ramen with chili pork dumplings and they were delicious! The service is remarkable always making sure we enjoyed everything, portions are decent amount so be hungry! The atmosphere is eclectic and small, but walking in you feel very welcome and they have great taste in music its explicit lyrics so maybe not a place for those uptight about that sort of thing.
The food wasn’t very great. The dumplings were alright but tasted like rubber. They also gave us “ginger lemonade” without telling us the price making it seem like it was free. I admit it was partly my fault for thinking that they would give us something free but at the same time they should’ve told us that it wasn’t free. After I ate, I got a really bad stomachache which sent me to the bathroom immediately. personally I thought the service was great besides the food. go at your own risk
Went to this ramen shop for the first time this evening. Cute little place conveniently located right off Main Street on New York Avenue. All staff were very warm, polite and professional. Menu was very clear and not overdone. Appetizers were amazing. Tasted fresh and hot. Main ramen dish was full of additional meat and supporting ingredients. Everything was hot and tasty. The 4 star review is due to the actual ramen NOT being the star of the show. Took my family here because we all agreed we wanted a good ramen meal. We all agreed that the other items were good, but the actual ramen in each of our bowls was underwhelming...maybe even disappointing. The ramen texture and taste wasnt any better than something store bought. We all left disappointed we didnt get the hearty ramen experience we had hoped for, however everything else we tasted was fresh and solid. Might (small chance) go back to try other menu items, but will skip the ramen.
Love this place! I loved it so much I had to bring my best friend! The ambiance is great, the staff is super friendly, the food is great and they’re quick! I also love that they play old school hip hop here. My kind of vibe haha. I also love all the little games and decorations here. It’s such a cool place with great food. Highly recommend!
Its lackluster ramen. Granted there is no ramen around here, thats probably why people think its so good. It is not. Its below average. People who think this is good ramen have never eaten real Japanese Ramen before. Also, social distancing is not a thing here. Tap the glass and stick your arm in for your takeout - its a Corona party inside.
Great vibe at this place with just as good ramen. The chef was grinding when I came in and produced bowl after bowl of really great ramen. I loved the chili oil they used, always had me coming back for more. Prices are super fair for the Huntington area and the quality is great. Will go back again for sure.
The food wasn’t good. The dumplings were alright but the ramen was plain and had no flavor. It failed to meet my expectations. They also gave us “ginger lemonade” without telling us the price making it seem like it was free. I admit it was partly my fault for thinking that they would give us something free but at the same time they should’ve told us that it wasn’t free. After I ate, I got a really bad stomachache. Personally I would totally not recommend this place.
Although the food might be good the people answering the phones and taking orders were AWFUL!!!! If you are in a service business, I always thought the customer is always right !! This was NOT the case. We called and the cell service was not the greatest so i called back . A man answered and I asked for a MB TAN TAN...and apparently, he didnt know what that was ?? He said it called a TAN TAN....I apologized for my mistake and tried to proceed with my order . We then got disconnected and a woman answered . She asked us to hold, and put the phone down and we heard her entire conversation....finally picking up, I asked if we couldPLEASE place an order (after being on hold for 10 minutes)...She told us, it wouldnt kill us that we had to wait on Hold and when I said we would like to talk to a manager, she said SHE would relay the message honey ...really....this is a business. With all that is going on ...where is the kindness, the humility...We have all been through so much, and i dont appreciate when ordering FOOD, I should be hung up on multiple times... I am a Huntington resident for OVER 30 years..I work at Huntington Hospital, and i would NEVER EVER talk to a patron, a patient or another person like that no matter what the circumstances.. She said shes really busy .....Well i hope it stays that way ...Because you LOST MY BUSINESS ...Good luck Jason, Maybe you need a better STAFF!!
Love this place, first of all the music is perfection thankfully someone can finally be brave enough to bring hip hop front and center i love it!! bringing that offical ramen food and vibe to huntington, chef/owner is great. Very personal experience, they were waiting on their liquor license which was the only downfall but i am assuming they have it now which completes this place.
Drove 30 minutes to get this ramen even though there are at least three ramen spots much closer to me. Well worth the drive, as the food is consistently great. I’ve had the crunchy chicken rice bowl, spicy tan tan, and sticky wings. All were very very good, highly recommend
The ramen is either a hit or a miss. Some days its amazing and packed with flavor, other days it is nearly flavorless. Never know what its gonna be like.Havent tried many of their other dishes, but their takoyaki was good, but a bit too mushy for my liking. The service is amazing. The servers are always around if you need to grab them. Theyre quick on their feet, helpful and friendly.
The staff cares. They really want you to enjoy your meal. I brought my son, a very picky eater, to try ramen. It wasnt his thing. The staff then brought out a couple of small bowls of broth for him to try. They also made him katsu over rice. They did all of this voluntarily and just for the price of his original ramen. That was incredibly generous! My son said, I really like the people here and left a thank you note on the bill.I have eaten here twice on consecutive Tuesdays. The ramen is very good and so are the rice bowls. It is small but nice. It can get warm. You better like old school rap (I do). It think it works.Overall, it is a nice meal with people that care about their craft. I really enjoy the place.
Ive come to this place a couple of times, I must say...the sticky icky wings are *chefs kiss* amazing. The fried chicken in the tan tan noodles marinating in that spicy broth? makes my little heart sing. Bless the man who decided to put fried chicken into spicy broth ramen. Truly a blessing.
So I love this place but if I ask for extras in my ramen.....why would you put it with everyone elses extras in a cardboard box? That makes no sense. If Im asking for extras in my ramen (same as every other order that wants specific extras) why would you just put them all together instead of thinking oh this one soup just wants an extra egg maybe put it in the ramen that asked for it? Instead of putting every extra in one cardboard box since we all ordered something different. They also skimp on fish cakes. I ordered two orders of them and got two small slices (its 3 per order)
First I will say MB Ramen is delicious. It has a great flavor, I cannot deny it. The broth is delicious. However, the broth is very oily. I had their MB ramen Bowl. After eating a bowl of it, you just feel gross. Ive had ramen thats not so oily, where you felt satisfied eating it. Perhaps the other broths arent like like that. Still worth another go, with another type of ramen bowl.
Gave wrong orders. Hair was in the food. The waitresses were extremely pleasant. We were a couple so they compd one of the meals in repentance. The atmosphere was very casual, lot of Japanese modern culture theme, anime and comic books included. Mix of hip hop, rock and a bit of J-Pop. Something for a more casual than a romantic dinner. Beverages straight from Japan
Ate lunch here yesterday with my wife. Walked in and the atmosphere was hip and clean. Sat down at a table of our choosing and ordered two steam buns and two ramen bowls. The pork steam but was fantastic, crispy, soft, delicious, cold, hot, spicy - it was really perfect. Shrimp steam bun didnt seem like it was shrimp at all but flavor was great anyway. The MB Ramen bowl was AMAZING and the chicken ramen bowl was great. Eggs were cooked perfectly and all the different ingredients meshed really well together for a really great lunch on a rainy day. The broth though, was the best part. It hit the spot big time. Would highly recommend this place but not for anyone who is not a fan of hip hop as it gets played pretty loudly. A+ from two hip-hop , ramen lovers.
This is my second time coming here. I was really excited to have a ramen shop in Huntington. I never review places and am extremely lenient when it comes to service and restaurants, but wow...First time the pork buns showed up after my ramen bowl, ok freak accident. They give us another bottle of hot sake for the mistake.Second time we sit down with 4 of us, no one else in the shop, very important. The waitress, if you could call her that, was slow to respond and take our orders. We sat for maybe 10 minutes before we got our order in. 30 minutes goes by and we dont have our pork buns. The chef and waitress were laughing the whole time barely paying attention, and theres a 3rd employee sitting behind the curtains who audibly stated I dont want to work today while puffing on his e-cig in the shop. We should have walked out right then and there, but felt bad.An hour goes by, our pork buns arrive stale and shittily made. The ramen arrived luke warm, noodles overcooked, and my mushrooms in the soup felt like I was eating rubber bands. My buddies bowl arrived half full and not made to order as they so happily chant to you as you arrive.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.Theyll be out of business soon.
Incredibly chill spot. The MB Ramen is a great tonkotsu, and the veggie ramen options offer some of the most umami packed vegetarian broth Ive ever tasted. The ambience is extremely polished, but laid back at the same time - great art, books, murals, decor and friendly people surround you and the music is perfect for the setting. The thick, cloth napkins and water vessels are a thoughtful touch, too. 9.5/10 - now my second favorite place out of 25-30 ramen shops Ive eaten at.
I wanted to like this place. I really did. The veggies in the ramen tasted off. Not fresh. Also the owner said the ramen would be on the house if I could beat him in the capcom vs snk arcade machine. The controls were not responsive. I call that a weighted bet. Ive tried all the ramen places in nassau county that I can and I love Huntington so much, I was hoping this ramen place would be great. I hope they pick up their game because its got a cool themed decor and its in a prime location. Ill change my review if I ever give it a second chance and it improves.
Underwhelming storebought noodles and tastes that dont quite come together betray an otherwise electrically fun atmosphere with an excellent ramen shop aesthetic. Free Neo-Geo arcades and the chance that the other menu items might have something more will bring me back.
Went here last sunday. place was not crowded we chose to sit at a table first the waiter gave us warm water 😲. we order a couple of buns and some ramen. after about 15 or so min a couple came in w/their 2 kids next to us then another couple sat behind my husband. after about 10 more min the couple with the kids got served all their meals 😡i don’t know about you but 4 orders before 2 being served then the couple behind my husband got served and they messed up one of the orders well now😡😡 finally the other waiter came over and made some lame excuse about the orders getting messed up coming out of the machine he apologized. i personally think our waiter was on something. after 6 more min he served the buns not to bad better at slurp in port jeff. well now another 10 more min go by and no food. well here’s the kicker i tell him to just bill me for the buns that this was ridiculous he calls over to the cook and goes kill the order guess what they still didn’t make the food. 2 stars for the buns. -0000 for service and-000000 for food i never received
I see a lot of hateful comments on here and Im not sure why this place is a must try! My boyfriend and I traveled to the most talked about new ramen restaurant to try the vegan section of foods offered here and boy was it worth every penny to take that 1 hour out of the way trip! The broth and noodles were the best Ive ever had! And we recently came from a vacation in hawaii where all they make is ramen! BEST BROTH AND RAMEN NOODLES! the soup also had a wide sectional of vegetables that add more flavor and nutrients. I can tell it was careful thought out and everything is organic and hand made, truly a master piece. It doesnt stop there everyone is very attentive and nice and can answer any of your questions on the foods, they know every ingredient as well as the process on how its made it was a wonderful experience all around. I hope they will forever keep the customer service and quality of food. The only change I would make is to add more broth to huge bowls that was offered I was left wanting more lol. I was excited to leave this review as the food and service is all top notched. Ps try the wavy noodles youll love them
Nice environment and friendly attentive staff ruined by overpowering loud noise that resembles music, rap(?) and food that looks like ramen. I had the MB Ramen, tonkotsu. I tried the soup itself first, missing, the typical Asian style soup spoon, might as well eat the stuff with a fork too and forgo the chopsticks provided . Rather than being greeted by a nice pork favored broth, I experienced a woody tasting liquid that left me wondering what I was eating. On the way home, I attributed this to the torch charred black edged processed ham (?) slices trying to pass itself off as chasu. Worse, the noodles were store bought also, a rather bland concoction absorbing all taste that no broth could help. I see that other reviews are favorable, TV and friends did recommended it highly, so MB seems to fill some niche but if you are looking for a place to have Japanese style ramen, this is not the place to go. I was not even enticed enough to try something else another time. One last comment, as of 11/2018, the menu online is an old version that has prices generally $2 to $4 dollars cheaper than what is charged currently, so dont be surprised.
Good decent ramen place. I enjoyed all the food. As another reviewer said, if this is your first ramen place then youll love it, otherwise if you compare it to places in NYC then its got a lot to go to get on par. What hurts this place SO MUCH is that the ramen noodles arent homemade. The only way I know is just how different these are from Ippudos noodles. The texture of these noodles are like those 25 cent store ramen packs. Ippudos are like actual pasta noodles. Also keep the buns simple!! Theres so much unnecessary stuff added to them. I want my buns simple and saucy.

2022-03-14MB Ramen! Best hole in the wall ramen spot! Huntington has a ton of great foodie finds, but this one has to be the absolute best reason to drive out of your way to have this taste of nostalgia. The atmosphere, the staff, combined with the unbelievably delicious menu you will not be disappointed. Bring your friends, bring your family, and have yourself an awesome time. Pro tip: be prepared for a lot of liquid so pace yourself with drinking.

2022-01-12Good service, friendly and helpful staff.Crispy, spicy dumplings are awesome. Pork buns were very good.Had the MB Ramen. Its not a traditional ramen, but it is interesting and different. If youre a purist, this one is not for you. Its just good.Hot sake, Sapporo beer, and now they have a nice, dry prosecco that goes well with the meal, too!

2022-03-12Great experience on a busy Friday night.Stopped in on a Friday night and this place was packed! Was helped by the staff at the door and was put on a text message wait list which was nice. The wait was minimal, about 5 minutes. When we were seated, we were given water right away and ordered drinks. Service was top notch. Quick, friendly and attentive. For food, we split the pork Dumplings and each got an order of the MB Ramen. The Dumplings were amazing; crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. They had a strong meaty taste to them, not bland like most places. The ramen was a gigantic portion for the price, great value. More important than value, taste. The taste was great. Not too salty, loaded with pork, and the mushrooms were very fresh. For sure this is one of the better ramen spots Ive been to. 👍

2022-06-27MB ramen is a gem in Huntington! The ramen was perfection. The broth was absolutely perfect. It had just the right amount of bone flavor and wasn’t too salty. It is better than some of the ramen spots in the city. Takoyaki was delicious as well. Also love the vibe, feels like you’re in Japan with the Anime decor.

2022-05-30This is more of a hip, divey, izakaya-ish place, not quite for family dinners. Theres also just street side parking, so youll have to come early to secure yourself a parking spot in the area. That said, it still gets 5 stars, because of the ambience, friendly service, and excellent food. The Tan Tan men is great! Tokyo ramen is rich tonkotsu ramen, while the MB Ramen is the same with black garlic oil added in. Kids are sure to enjoy the walls adorned with comic book pages, as well as the figurines/toys of comic book characters all around the bar. Even though we were a little family of 4 that stood out like sore thumbs in a small venue, we still had a great dinner.

2021-08-05We had a fantastic experience here. The place has a fun kinda nerdy comicbooky vibe. The wait staff was super pleasant and helpful and the service overall was amazing. The kitchen is right when you walk in the door and is very clean. The food is fresh and if you are sitting at the bar is cooked right in front of you. The house ramen was fantastic and the shrimp tempura was amazing. The pickled salad that came with the shrimp may have been my favorite thing.

2021-12-06Delish, we got there a little before 1pm Saturday was empty when we arrived. Just after we got seated it started filling up! Server gives you water to share for the table in a old whiskey bottle. The portions were very big. My mom who isnt much of a ramen eater enjoyed the donburi. I was happy to see they also have bao buns. Our food arrived quickly. You can park in the lot a side street over if theres space for free.

2022-04-09Awesome ramen here. Parking outside isnt great but the food is always ready quick. They give quality chopsticks and authentic plastic Japanese soup spoons with take out orders too. If you order online you can earn points for discounts too.
