Buyer beware!! Know your rights before doing business with this or any other funeral home in NYC. Funeral homes in New York are regulated by the state of NY and required by law to provide a price list upon request for their services. This funeral home will tell you when you call that they have a price list but when you ask for it to be emailed to you they refuse and want to tell you the prices by phone. If they have a price list it should be posted on their website where customers can see it or at least emailed to the customer when requested. Troy is fast talking and slick....one minute use of the hearse to transport the casket to the cemetery starts at $505 depending on how far the cemetery is and the next minute use of the hearse is $2415.....dressing the deceased not included, price for the casket not included. This is the most expensive ride to a cemetery that I have ever heard!! If something as easy as emailing a price list to a customer is a problem than that tells me that they have something to hide and are interested in stealing extra $$ from their customers. There are plenty of funeral homes......take your business elsewhere.
I must say that McCalls representatives were very professional and very accommodating with all that we wanted for my grandmothers funeral. They were able to prepare & organize everything that was needed for the arrangement in a timely fashion.
The service was excellent my family was very satisfied as well as I am. the quality of service that was given accommodated all participants that spoke during the service. all family members as well as friends and extended family. I as well as family highly recommend the services, and personal care given to our deceased family member.
My brother Stephen was treated with respect and dignity by the staff at McCall Bronxwood. They treated our family with much love. Thanks so much.
The professionalism is totally disgraceful! During my love one service one of the attendant’s walked around during the service with her phone in hand and on speaker watching Youtube! It was very disrespect and unprofessional!
I will never regret the choice I made for my brother. The staff did a great job with him he looked the same. The service was amazing. I willDefinitely recommend this establishment to anyone in need of great service.
PAID $14000 to bury my mother and they ripped us off not even giving us a head stone and plus the casket was cheap lookingCriminals

2022-01-31Upon the death of our dad on Thursday, January 13th, we contacted McCalls Bronxwood Funeral Home. I was given instructions on the required documents. My sisters and I met with several of the staff to get the process started on January 14th. We were assigned to work with Mr. Joseph Jones. Mr. Jones and all the staff were exceptional in keeping us informed every step of the way during such a difficult time.The service itself was far more than I expected. Dad served in the Korean War and the presentation of the flag was extremely touching. Our dad was not a member of a church. McCalls provided the requisite pastoral services. Rev. Norman Coleman presided and Rev Kevin Wade provided the music. What a dynamic duo!!! Rev. Coleman did not know our dad personally, but his words of comfort to the family, and the honor and praise he expressed for our dad were clearly genuine. Rev. Wades voice was at times soothing and then invigorating. We felt the spirit for sure!I can not thank the McCalls staff and Mr. Alston, the owner, enough for the care, concern, and comfort extended to our family in our time of need.Georgette Howell

2022-06-07Pat Myers and her team were entrusted with handling and preparing my mother for burial. The caring, sensitivity, respect and dignity afforded not only to my mother but to the family was unparalleled! Pat Myers is to be commended for having such caring and professional staff. She/her staff helped to make my mother’s home going one that will never be forgotten.

2022-05-01Thank you very much to the staff at MdCalls. My mothers makeup was on point along with her hair and clothes. My siblings and I was very pleased with the service they performed on our mother Edna Henry March 2020. They also did an excellent job on my Uncle Hylton Wright who’s service was on April 19,2020 they did an excellent job on his face and clothing .

2021-05-17I cannot say enough about the exemplary service of McCalls Bronxwood staff.My sons service were 3 months ago. Joseph, Stephan and Troy was always attentive, compassionate and professional. Great communications: in person, texts and phone calls. My son looked sooo good! They made sure our requests were met.

2021-09-02I wanted to thank McCall’s Bronxwood Funeral Home for their services and making my Dad look handsome for his Homegoing service. Professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We want to personally thank Linette for all that she did especially during COVID with all the restrictions. As always clean, comfortable and roomy for all of our family members and friends who came to view him. Our limo drivers were courteous, professional, and pleasant. McCall’s Bronxwood Funeral Home guided us during an extremely difficult, sad time making the planning of his home going uncomplicated and comforting. 2017-08-24Most difficult time of my life and these people think of everything and make it as easy as it can be. I have unfortunately used them twice for my loved ones and the care and concern is above and beyond. There was one day were i was called 20 times and usually that would be horrible but they just wanted to make sure that everything was the way I wanted. If you need them use them. They are the best of the best.

2015-10-21The arrangements were excellent. I have nothing but praise for the service provided by McCalls staff. They met all of my expectations and were compassionate and easy to communicate with. they kept me and my family abreast of every issue and left all the decisions up to us. I was especially impressed with Shawn, who handled everything for me. Even going so far as to give my Dad his pocket handkerchief to place in y Dads suit pocket jacket because it matched. Shawn did not try to give us things we did not need. He listened, he cared, and he took care of everything in our time of need. EXCELLENT SERVICES..

2021-03-08The Funeral Director Anthony Johnson was very disrespectful. He said very nasty you cant stand outside of the chapel you have to go inside or outside. He also told the people go make sure they go up to the family before leaving the chapel when there is suppose to be social distancing. The bathroom was dirty and had no tissue and the paper towel holder was stuck and you could not get paper towel. The chairs in the chapel was dirty and wobbling. Horrible customer service and in addition when I first called I had to correct them because I spoke to two people and neither of them said I am sorry for your lost.

2020-10-03I attended a funeral service today October 3-2020 that was prepared by McCalls Bronxwood Funeral Home Located at 4035 Bronxwood Ave, Bronx and I was very much touch by the angel in that casket. All her Memories was in that casket. She was nothing less than the angel we all known her to be. Thank you to the staff and team who dress her and put her together for such a day as this. I did not cry because she left. I cried because seeing is believing and seeing her made me aware it was her lying there. She looked the same and at peace. GREAT JOB McCalls Bronxwood Funeral Home. I pray and hope you can make me look the same when my time comes to go. I can go on and on but your work have always blew me away. Not sure how you do it, but you do. 2014-10-15Sincerely, the best customer service Ive received (outside of 5 star hotels). The staff were concerned, interested and worked with us all so well. They were responsive, organized and did wonderful work to ensure that our loved one looked beautiful for her last viewing. I can hardly say enough...McCalls is a treasure.
