1 Michigan buried and Special fries with homemade fries and extra sauce. Always my go to meal and never disappoints! Local favorite year round!!!!

Great lunch spot. Cash only they do have an ATM.I always have to get a root beer float. The deluxe burgis delicious.

Michigan sauce is second to none, thats all there is to it. Also love the homemade fries with the skin (they offer your well known crinkle fries too).. and the special fries with mich sauce and cheese are crazy good. they use real melted cheese too, not the yellow wax cheese (they might offer that if you prefer it, not sure). Great menu, have heard good things about other menu items, look forward to trying a few. Last and maybe first, great friendly service.

They use generic hot dogs from Sysco food service here, which is offputting. The meat sauce is extremely spiced, packs a punch, which somewhat overshadows the hot dog. Its tasty cause its still a hot dog, but I wouldnt go out of my way for one of these.

Always a great experience at Mcsweeneys! The waitress was literally running. From the time we sat at the picnic table to the time we were served was less than 10 minutes. It was noon and they were busy. Service with a smile as always. The food was hot and the Michigans were good as always. Remember the sauce has some kick to it, so if you like your Michigan sauce plain without heat this isnt it. All in all its a 5 star experience every single time!

Ate here a few weeks ago on the way back from Ice fishing and the food was great. The waitress was amazing. She was very friendly had showed awesome customer service. You could tell she loved her job. I am not sure what her name was but she def earned the tip we gave her which was the same amount as our bill!!!

My wife and I, a couple out-of-towners, spent the week exploring the Champlain Islands and surrounding area. We wanted to experience some famed Plattsburgh Red Hots (otherwise colloquially referred to as Michigans. McSweeneys is well regarded by the locals and its now well regarded by us too. Bare in mind, its still the Covid age, so business procedures have to adapt. So you cant go inside to place the order, but they handle call ahead as well as car-side orders. Our waitress Taressa was out to our car window the moment we pulled in to clear up any questions we had and take our order. Taressas help was top-notch; she was friendly, patient, and helpful with answers.We ended up ordering some Red Hots w/buried onions and mustard , onion rings, and poutine fries (gravy and cheese for those not local) with a couple bottles of soda, and our pup even ended up with a sliced hot dog of his own. Taressa brought it all out with some ketchup, Franks hot sauce, napkins and utensil. After a dash of hot sauce on mine, I took a bite, it was delicious. You can see the little flecks or pepper seed and red skin, and theres a sweet spiciness too it, but not too spicy. My dog loved his sliced hotdog, but I almost had my first Red Hot down before my dog finished his. My wife skipped the hot sauce and said it was just the right level of spice for her, not too hot.The poutine and rings were fantastic as well. The poutine having gravy and cheese layered well throughout the fries, and the rings crisp and warm. Now the price, thats the icing on the cake. Now Im used to paying more for food back home, as an out-of-towner I was expecting to pay nearly double what it cost. Its a fantastic deal!Locals of Plattsburgh, Im jealous of your easy access to McSweeneys. If youre a traveler anywhere in the area, swing by for some great food and friendly help. McSweeneys by the city beach has the best kitchen staff thanks in part to a young man who told me he actually looks forward to my order as we had a SNAFU back in May or June which was as much my fault as theirs, but as the saying goes in retail and hospitality,The customer is always right. The wait staff goes out of the way to thank you, and most call me by my name which is important regarding loyalty, as people tend to return to restaurants that make them feel valued. Thanks McSweeneys Rt.9, you know this is the location by the city beach... Great people who have great food !
