We had an issue when my sons car would not start because the ignition would not turn over. It was frozen. Julian B (AAA Tech #Y1802) arrived promptly. Instead of towing the car, he was able to fix the issue and educate us how to resolve a brake switch issue. What could have been a costly experience, became a education and blessing. Reasonable price for what I needed done. They were busy so it took a few days to get done. But the problem I had was fixed and I havent had a problem with it since.They also did a complete inspection for free and detailed everything my car could need in the future; told me how much those things would cost with them but I didnt feel pressured to get any of it done right there and then with them or like they were trying to sell me stuff that I didnt need. Very honest mechanics!
I brought my car in for a clutch repair, I never used them before but they are local to me and I pass by them everyday. the price the quoted me for a clutch repair I thought was high so I researched it some more I got a place that would do it cheaper but they were going to cut not replace the dual mass fly wheel. I called MD and told them that and they (MD) told me you can’t do that check google. So I did and MD was absolutely right.. I also called another transmission place who confirmed not to cut flywheel. So I had.work done by MD. They fixed it earlier then promised and it’s running great they also called a couple days after to make sure that it was running ok (like a drs office LOL ) Great customer service from John super nice and personable. Julian you are a beautiful human being when nobody else would stop in a blizzard to help me with my truck this man made sure that I was taking care of and that I got out safe and secure on top of it I had no way to pay him at that present moment. I have a 1998 Mercedes E320 serviced at their shop that needed quite a few small repairs due to the age of the vehicle. They promptly picked up the car from my house ( it wasnt drive able at the time) and towed it to their shop at no additional charge. They fixed the axle, flushed the braking system, replaced some of the headlight and rear braking bulbs and a few other needed repairs. They then took pictures of the car before and after, which they upload on a big tv screen for the customer to see how and where their money was used. I was very impressed with their work and professionalism, and will be bringing my car there for repairs in the future.
I called Monday morning hoping Matt and his crew could fix my alternator that had just failed. He said bring it over. A few hours later, all fixed. Good people and they know their stuff!
Did a thorough inspection and identified important things that needed to be attended to. Car was finished in a timely manner and had fair prices. Was an overall great experience!

They sent me a link that outlined all of the work and diagnostics that were done, which even included photos of the new parts in the car. I’m also happy there is a 2-year warranty. Excellent service! Joe made it so easy and was so helpful at getting the keys out of my car for me. He was professional, arrived within 30 min of my AAA call, friendly, and got into the car in less than 5 minutes. The experience went from being an anxiety ridden one, to a pleasant and easygoing relief. 10/10 would recommend.
I love this shop. Everytime I come in, Im impressed. They do solid work, they are upfront about what you need, and when they want to suggest more work, they show you a full photo series of all the issues they see. Its not, Oh, you need one of these, its $50, want it?Its Here are some pictures of why this is bad, here is when your cars manufacturer recommends that part be serviced, here is a full description of the issue, and how they plan to resolve it.They show you they know what theyre talking about and that you can trust them to do a good job. Its not some shady way for them to tack on services you dont need.Not only that, but they offer NATIONWIDE warranty on their work. Excellent service. I locked my keys in my truck and Julian from MD Auto repair and towing arrived early and opened the vehicle in just a few minutes. Julian was pleasant, professional and prompt. Towing took a bit too long but it was a late call. The actual service seems to be honest and reasonably priced. Getting the job done was reasonably fast considering the needs of parts and such
I was completely awed by the way they treat you and do a complete check over to let you know what has to be fixed next before a disaster happens and gives you a list in the order of repairs with prices..never have I had this experience they are honest and upfront plus respectful and curtious. I give them more than five stars
I don’t usually leave reviews online but felt compelled to do so after the quality of service and professionalism from MD! After being towed from Triple A far from my home, I was hesitant when they had a body shop nearby recommended, unsure of what I would get as it was not my usual place. But what I found was a professional and caring mechanic shop that made a stressful say SO much easier! I’d consider using them regularly, even coming from 50 miles west. Can be tough to find reliable shops, but they really are a knowledgeable and caring bunch! Thanks again for the help to all of the staff!

I would like to share my experience. My engine seized while turning onto the LIE, it was getting late and my phone was dead. I had been waiting 2 hours for AAA when i saw a tow truck pass, I flagged them down thinking it was for me. It was not for me but but the operator offered to see how far AAA was for me. It turns out AAA NEVER SENT ANYONE TO ME, it was then past midnight and i was starting my new job early in the morning. Julian not only towed my car but tried to fix it for me before hooking it up and taking it away. Thanks to Julian, I made it home safe, and my car made it to the repair shop. Julian is truly one of a kind, I could tell this is more than a job to him and he truly cares about his clients. He was on his way home because his shift was over and he still treated me with respect and helped me. He went above and beyond for me and i am forever thankful that i crossed paths with him. Went here back in a January 2021 for the first time & I will continue to go back. Leaving my car for an oil change this week and I could not be happier with their service. Their customer service is immaculate. Staff is very friendly. They give you an amazing breakdown of everything they did to your car and what else your car would need, should you choose to fix it, as well as explain everything to you if you do not understand. Wonderful communication. The price is also very reasonable. Keep up the great work!

After a flat tire MD Auto Repair ordered new tires and replaced the old ones. They did a wheel alignment and kept me informed and up to date. I felt like they knew me, like we were friends! Great job.
Julian was very punctual and responsible. He called me in advance and told me the ETA and arrived exactly as he said. He was very courteous and helpful and handled the delivery of the vehicle to the tire place and the tire people. Everything was exceptionally well.

They did a detailed inspection of my vehicle and texted me a list of issues (with photos) that needed attention according to urgency. Upfront with cost. Very pleasant to deal with. My battery completely died getting onto a major highway. Towing was prompt, careful, and free from roadside to the shop. Carl, the tow truck driver, introduced me to the staff upon arrival. John at the front office was courteous and personable. Everyone at the shop remembered my name. Phone updates were prompt during electrical analysis and battery installation. I received exceptional and professional service at a more than fair price. You can tell these guys genuinely want to help folks out.For half a decade my wife and I have been looking for an auto shop to consistently take our cars to. Weve finally found it.
Im new to the Patchogue area got recommendation from AAA Matt And the rest of the guys were very courteous and professional they did a great job on my Jeep grand Cherokee. I will be back to take care of the maintenance issues on the truck after the detailed safety inspection of my vehicle .
My car broke down and I needed a tow. I called my insurance and they set me up with a tow from MD Auto Repairs. They told me 90mins before someone would be there, I was ok with that. The time passed and the tracker said the tow would be arriving, I got no call or update from MD Auto Repairs. I left work and I was outside in the 90 degree weather waiting for this tow, since no one called me I called them. They tell me another 90mins, I was like why didn’t you call me or update my insurance and they said they were busy. Nice service right! Be careful if you have to use their towing service or just save your self the hassle and don’t!
I have been bringing my cars to MD for years. I swear, they can fix ANYTHING! My daughter had my truck in New Orleans for last semester, While down there because of the poor condition of the streets the bottom of the truck underneath was deemed unfixable. She was able to drive it back to New York and I brought it to Matt at MD. He fixed it up and it feels like a new truck! They are the best!
Extremely professional. Not only did they send a full report of everything they checked (with pictures), they walked me through each item individually. I was seriously impressed with the service. 100% recommend.
My daughter’s car was making knocking sound and stalling. My husband thought it sounded like a problem with the engine. He called Hyundai and was told that the warranty expired last month. We had it towed to MD Auto Repair in Patchogue. They told me the engine needed to replaced and it would cost $4000 to have a used one installed. The man I spoke with couldn’t understand why it wasn’t covered by Hyundai’s warranty (it’s a 2017 with 57,000 miles). I called Hyundai and spoke to someone different and they said it was covered! It just needed to be towed to a Hyundai dealership. I called MD Auto Repair back and explained the situation and asked to pay him by phone. They told me they were very happy for me and didn’t charge me anything! If anyone needs their car repaired, please go to MD Auto Repair in Patchogue. They are very honest and compassionate!

An uncommon experience for common work needed.I had a minor repair needed but car was out of operation until completed. When I arrived I was supplied with a compete multi media overview of the health (or unfortunate lack there of - not due to any fault of mechanic) of my vehicle & it was complete with easy to understand photos & video of the various components of my vehicle as well as graphics that explain each component. Matt was a total professional and it is refreshing to be reminded what good customer service is from MD. I am so used to not even being asked my name & just handed my keys & a bill that it has made me forget how a true visit to a mechanic should go. I will always use MD for my auto needs for now on & I am glad it took a small $80 issue to find them!
As I was turning a corner, a situation caused me to bump into a curb. The result: blew out both passenger side tires at the same time. The MD flat bed towing truck driver suggested that I use his firm (MD) for repairs. The recommendation did not seem impartial at the time but he expressed a positive and confidence in the recommendation. I decided to trust his recommendation and agreed to bring the truck to MD. From the moment I arrived to the complete repair, MDs professional and polite communications were first class. I was impressed. In fact, MD took it upon themselves to do an all point inspection of the vehicle for my benefit. Ever detail of the inspection was documented by a photo or video and sent to me for review. I was impressed. Overall, good people and MD and I will use them again. Frank.
I went to Matt’s for the past four years and I use to think it was the best place for my car, but recent events have me looking elsewhere.
Unfortunately I cannot write a good review of this companys towing services. On September 9, my 17 year old daughter needed her car towed from Islandia NY to Middle Island NY. From a house to a car repair shop. She filled out the form online for AAA and the tow truck came about two hours later. I was not with her at the time the driver picked up her Toyota, but I was on the phone and asked to speak to him. The driver, Donald, would not speak with me, even though I wanted to confirm the details with him. He did give me the number to call Matt and pay by credit card. But I wanted to confirm the address, because its easy to make a mistake with so many auto repair shops all over.My daughter drove with her friend to ### Middle Country Road, where the auto shop was. It was a 20 minute drive from Islandia to Middle Island She and her friend waited for 45 minutes, and the tow truck never came.I called her again, and said CALL THE DRIVER! You need to find out if he took the car to the wrong location. He finally answered.The tow truck man, Donald, towed her car to ## Middle Country Road, the WRONG ADDRESS, dropped the car off and gave the keys to some spanish speaking man, where the man LOCKED her car in a gatedparking lot and would not give her the car or her keys! He told her to come back tomorrow! She said NO I NEED MY CAR NOW. This is the WRONG place! This man was asking for the TITLE to the car! Seriously? No one has the title to their car on them! I was on the phone with her, trying to talk to these people, furious that they would not give her the car so we could get it to the CORRECT auto place. I was walking out the door of my house with the title in my hand to go deal with these people, when FINALLY, after 3 spanish people came, they checked my daughters license with her insurance card in the car, unlocked the gate and gave her the car back. Then she had to drive the car, with brake problems, to the CORRECT auto repair.How does a tow truck man not check first before giving the car and keys to the wrong place? The correct auto shop was waiting for our car. And my daughter was waiting in the lot! She called him twice while sitting and waiting for it. He finally picked up and told her where the car was. Very very rude. Sorry but I WOULD not recommend MD towing company. When I called to speak to Matt, (head of towing?) I could not reach him directly. And they said the problem was that AAA (which I have contacted them also about this) gave them the wrong address. AAA messed up also. That is VERY important ! The car needs to be towed to the CORRECT address. And the towing guy needs to confirm the address, and give the KEYS TO THE OWNER of the car ( or at least confirm with the auto repair that they are expecting the car??) . She was there waiting for it! NOT SOME RANDOM person who does not speak English!!! Especially for a teenage girl! Double CHECK THE ADDRESS BEFORE towing the car!

So they did a complete diagnostic and physical check up— ps they are picking my car up on Tuesday 6-1. I want to start off by giving the biggest shout out to Julien. I hoped I spelled it correctly! Any who! I was stuck at the CVS and while I waited for my tow truck service. I was approached by some weird guy who would not leave. When Julien arrived he also tried to get the guy to leave, but the guy would not take the hint. As Julien fixed my car he ran into an issue of getting my rusty bolts off the tire. Julien used ingenuity and was able to change my tire and waited the guy out so I could leave safely.. Needless to say I was soo grateful that I got my tire changed and Julien assisted me with the creepy guy. MD Auto you got a GREAT WORKER! Now can we discuss getting my car fixed LOL :)
Was very accommodating with our schedule, fair with repairs and pricing. I picked up my husbands car for him and Matt was very nice and made me feel comfortable. That is sometimes not the case as a women going to a repair shop. I really appreciated it.

This is my first visit to MD Auto they were very thorough in there inspection of my vehicle. I had a leak dripping on my gear shift and wetting the passenger side for a year. I had taken the vehicle to the dealer where I have been going for repairs since I bought the vehicle and they told me they cant repair the leaking because they are not the one who installed the vehicle windshield.MD Auto came through and took care of the leaking and also replace my muffler that was noise. And got rid of the engine light.I recommend MD Auto for their clean and knowledge work.
Communicationi was in constant communication with John. He informed me of the progress of my repair and recommendations from the inspection performed on the vehicle. Needless to say the car is running smoothly. 1st time here and was very impressed with customer service. Means a lot to me. Great job MD Auto.
I own a large service company and work in multiple states. Because of this I put over 100,000 miles on each of my work vans per year. I take all of my Vans to MD Auto for literally everything. They are so great at what they do that I have never broke down on the side of the road. When I take my Vans in for oil changes they go over everything and have found many things that would have normally caused me to break down but they have always found it first and fixed it. Most recently was my brakes. When they were changing them. They found my Wheel bearing Assembley was grinding and they showed me. They changed both in the frontend and now that Vans runs so much smoother. That would have definitely caused me to get stuck on the side of the road if they didnt find it first.. They are incredibly honest and do exceptional work. I have recommended them to many of my friends and family because it is so hard to find a automobile repair company that treats you like family and does only 100% quality work. They will never try to sell you something you dont need. If they tell you that you need something repaired get it done because if you dont its your own fault when you are stuck on the side of the road. Great technology on the digital diagnostics. I saw photos with red arrows pointing to everything that was wrong with the vehicle. I will definitely be using their services again in the future.Other mechanics think theyre slick by loosening up your valve core stem giving you a slow tire leak two days later, so that you wake up in the morning with your truck sitting on the rim, when you have somewhere very important to be. MD Auto Repair are honest mechanics that you can trust and wouldnt play such games after not buying a new tire from them.
MD Auto repair performed a pre-purchase used car inspection for me and handled themselves as the highest of professionals. In terms of customer service, they were courteous and responsive on the phone, kept to their schedule, and followed up with appointments. Specifically as an auto repair business, they provided a detailed report of the vehicles issues accompanied by photos, and, took the time to explain everything to me by phone. I dont think Ive ever dealt with such a well run and professional business, regardless of the trade.

Ive been going to MD for a while now and they never disappoint. Recently I had them do an alignment on my F150 after some suspension work and the truck feels brand new. I dont think there is anything MD Auto Repair cant do. If your looking for a reliable mechanic shop, this is the place to go.

I chose this place to get a per-purchase inspection, they were very thorough, quick and professional! The office gentleman was very knowledgeable, patient, and explained everything to us. The added bonus was that they have advanced technology, I received a text with my maintenance summary with photos, the issues & the suggested repair. Also very affordable. I will be using them going forward. Highly recommend.
My wife had a flat tire on her way to work. So I brought her car to MD Auto. Upon arrival I was greeted right despite the place being very busy. All of the Mechanics were Servicing other vehicles so the manager of the place actually took care of my tire repair himself. After getting the run around from our PREVIOUS mechanic, and having our car stall twice in two months, (we were told by said Mechanic: its nothing that we did. Also, we cant find anything wrong with it. So your going to have to call us when it does stall out again. Why should either of us, jeopardize our life or the car because they COULDNT RUN ANY TESTS? (This mechanic and shop was highly recommended via friends, but after this, we had to walk away.)So two days ago, my mom called M & D (right up the street!). And they fit us in right away. Of course on the way the car stalled AGAIN! Thankfully even with being busy, they were able to do a Diagnostic Test (calling us first and walking us through the process and the cost) (which the Former Mechanic for some reason or another couldnt do). And they instantly found the problem.My mother is an essential worker at Saint Charles, and so for her to have the added and unexpected stress of car problems and possibly getting stuck late at night or early in the morning is highly unnecessary and unnerving.John & David were an absolute delight to work with. From the moment we walked in the Office until we picked up the car (almost a half hour after closing because we had to walk up), they were wonderful! John was behind the desk smiling, courteous, sweet and kind, genuine and honest.When we came back to pick up the car, it was after closing hours (as I previously mentioned) and they never once complained.Again, when we got back to the office, we asked to speak with the Mechanic who worked on our car. David came to meet with us. He couldnt be more pleasant, understanding, knowledgeable, and empathetic, and he took time out of his duties to answer any questions we had.On top of the absolute professionalism, the shop and office are beyond clean! They have a nice little waiting area with TV, massage chair, electric fireplace, and a computer that shows clients the status of their vehicles. Its a nice cozy place! (But it was such a beautiful day out we wanted to go for a nice walk around town), we wouldve loved to stay! --Professional, friendly, competent, honest and fair--I found these guys while searching Google for highly rated mechanic garages near me. My car had a misfire that I had gotten fixed at a dealership, but the misfire kept coming back. Matt was able to pin point the problem to an electrical connector and resolve the issue. Ive had many experiences with mechanics who have cost me countless $ on unnecessary repairs, whether because they didnt know, or didnt care. That was NOT the case here. Matt spent some time with me before he did the work, asked a lot of questions, and I could tell he genuinely wanted to solve the problem for me. I know a little about cars, do some of my own work, and know my own car well. Matt was open minded and didnt patronize me as so many other mechanics have in the past. They kept me informed the entire time, and the price (which was fair) was exactly what they said it would be. I should add that this was all on a Saturday, and on short notice. I have two jobs, rely heavily on my car, and need it working properly. So I am very grateful to have found these guys. They lived up to the hype, ***HIGHLY RATED***

Matt and the men working their were extremely courteous and informative . Breaking down and having to get towed to a shop can be very stressful but they made the experiance way smoother. I was waiting to get raked over the coals bringing my diesel truck to them but it couldent have been anymore opposite of an experiance. I met MD Auto when I called AAA. Turned out my engine needed to be replaced. Matt the owner found me a rebuilt engine for an incredible price, saved me a ton of money and the engine has been great. I have been bringing all of my vehicles (3) to him ever since. Great to find a great HONEST mechanic!

Got into a big bind, shredding my tire and denting a rim I had no idea was previously damaged. These guys worked seemingly tirelessly to get a new rim for me from local shops on Long Island, even went so far as to order one because it seemed like the right size, And got me all set up. These guys literally CALLED 4 CAR RENTAL PLACES on my behalf to try to make sure we were okay - everything felt personal, not just professional, which is exactly what you want with your service. Hooked me up and now I’m rolling better than ever, can’t recommend them enough.

I went here because of a flat tire, they found the problem and fixed it. The person working the front desk was extremely helpful and polite. They also gave my car a courtesy inspection and found several problems I wasnt aware of. They are professional and their customer service is exemplary, I would come back here again.

The employees were very friendly and experienced. The atmosphere of the shop was professional and clean. The staff seems very community oriented I observed everyone who came I was treated with a big hello and when the mechanics came up front they said hello to people in the waiting area. Ended up going to MD after my car was towed after overheating. Having issues with you car is never enjoyable but MD towing made the whole experience as easy as possible. They were timely and professional when it came to contacting me and completing the needed work on my Jeep. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
The staff were polite and efficient. They fit me in right away even though they were busy. I was an out-of-town visitor and was about to leave New York for an 8-hour drive home. Im very happy with their service and look forward to using them again if Im in New York and have an automotive issue. The towing service was excellent as well.

We luckily arrived early for my daughters road test where an NYMV Person told us we could not use my vehicle since the inspection had expired this past spring. Despite my pleas that I had been working from home due to the pandemic the car had not been driving, they fell on deaf ears. Looking across the street I saw MD Auto Repair. After checking in with Matt to explain our predicament, he told us that he could get the car inspected before our 11a test appointment. In the end they got us taken care of and in the end she passed the road test. Thanks to Matt and his team for making her day.
Took my vehicle to Matt and his team just yesterday, and I was blown away with their service. I dont think Ive ever sat in a shop and laughed so much with other patrons and staff.I needed my brake pads and rotors taken care of urgently. Matt made it work, gave me an appointment for an hour after my frantic call, and assured me that theyd have me in and out as quick as possible. When I got there, Matt wanted to make sure they addressed my concerns and took me for a quick test drive to figure out what noise I was hearing from my brakes. Im also super pleased that the team was so honest about what I needed done on my car, and didnt give me an insanely high price. They didnt try to do more work than I needed, and had me out of there in an hour and a half! I will absolutely be returning :)Thanks for your hard work, gentlemen! Also, shout out to Chris in the front, he and his father had me cackling while I did some paperwork!
Nice place, prompt service, friendly staff.The place seems to be a great place. They seem to have many returning customers. I was there for a simple car inspection, but while there, they had a returning (loyal customer) that said how good they were. They were very friendly to me and I liked that. Then, they even offered for me to come back and they would put my new plates on my car for me. And, I did the next day, where I ran into another loyal customer and she had nothing but great things to say about them. I think when I will be needing any type of repair work on my vehicle, I will go there. They have been there for 40 years, so they must be doing something right, hehe.
These fine gentlemen went through tons of trouble detailing all the issues with my Ford Taurus, taking photos and documenting them just so I could view them and even went through several payment options with me, discussing what my options were. I am rating this shop a zero. Scheduled the car to be towed to collision shop and was told it would be 60 minutes. No call back and 90 minutes later, called again and was told it would be 15 minutes. I informed the after hours service that the collision shop closed at 12 noon. Got a call from Matt, the owner, who said they could access the car and do the work and I told him it was already authorized by the insurance company to have it done by the original collision shop. The car was not towed by 12 noon and without a doubt this was done purposely. If AAA recommends using this service, ask them for the name of a another towing company.
Helpful and very knowledgeable, they made a big repair (differential rebuild) in a short time.
They identified that it was a dead battery. They were able to do it that same day! I’m general, kind people and happy to do business with them. The price was reasonable as well.
Had MD auto repair and towing come out to tow my Bmw and the driver joseph was absolutely great, funny and professional. They had my car sitting at their shop for almost a month trying to find out my car was constantly draining its battery. they kept giving me false diagnostics and costing me money. i brought it to another place once i was done with their lies and they fixed it the next day. MD auto just didnt want to admit that the first part they replaced was faulty and would rather lie and keep my car for a whole month.

Unfortunately for me my tranny went. Fortunately for me I had MD Auto do the repair. Took a little longer than expected but Matt made it right by refurbishing the headlights. Have had other minor work done here in the past and this experience was the same. Excellent work at a fair price. Highly recommended.
They were amazing. Im so happy that AAA directed me here. I was far away from home (5+ hours) and my car got jacked up!!!, but, they fixed what needed fixed so I could make it home safely. I was worried about cost. And I mean worried to the point of tears because I was going to be stranded with no way home. But the cost in the end was right where it needed to be and they helped me so tremendously in my time of need that I really cant thank them enough. The staff is great. So friendly and they know what they are doing. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who is having car issues. I never write reviews either but these guys deserve it!!!!

I was up to NY for a funeral from FL. A piece of wood or something came from truck in front of me on the LIE. Got into engine compartment cracked radiator. These guys couldve taken me and they didnt. I wanted an alignment done,coming through the city I nailed 2 Big pot holes.. They couldve tried to get the alignment done charge me & say it needs work but is better with the alignment. They didnt, they told me not worth wasting $ on alignment without bearing done.Im back home and doing bearing myself.Im a retired ASE certified Technician and shop owner. These guys are a good bunch.Thanks for getting me back on the road fast and for a fair price. You will be seeing my family on Long Island after the service I got in an emergency.

After waiting over 2hrs at a garage chain, I googled garages and was lucky enough to see MD Auto at the top of the list because of their positive reviews. They took me immediately and serviced my car with no problems. So glad I went to them!
At the discretion of AAA my car was towed to MD Auto for failed brakes. I am visiting N.Y. from Orlando and just had my brakes done including the master cylinder about 30 days ago. The master cylinder failed and I was not able to get any relief from my mechanic in Orlando. Matt ( I assume one of the owners) was able to secure me a credit through a warranty company that my mechanic in Orlando didnt help me out with. The credit amounted to more than half my Bill. The process was painful but Matt was able to get that done with same day service. I doubt that I will ever need mechanic services in Patchogue,N.Y. but if I do I will run back to MD Auto. They did a great job with a great attitude!!!

I never write reviews, and by never I mean this is the first review Ive ever written. I do not trust mechanics at all, Ive always had problems with them, but let me tell you, thank god Ive found this place. The owner Mathew is super nice and welcoming, he makes you feel more like a friend than a costumer. And they know what they are doing. Ive had a noise in my car that no other mechanic could tell me what it was, no one could figure it out. Every place I went they would just guess what it needed and give ridiculous estimates. I took my car to Mathew for an inspection, and to have the noise looked at. He found it, changed the parts with GENUINE brand original parts, and poof, the noise is gone, and my car drives like new! I will always go back to this place. Thank you guys for the professional work!
My car was stuck in a super tight parking spot so the first truck geico sent was too big to get behind my car. After telling geico they need to send a smaller truck, they sent MD auto in an even bigger truck... and this guy got it out! You CAN TRUST M and D not only did the crew do an excellent job but Matt was very thorough with everything that needed to be done every step of the way .. My Jeep runs smooth service there is is great!! Told me I had a leak in my muffler, when I really had a vacuum leak. They tried to charge me $800 to do a job that I got done somewhere else for $200. Also, took them 3 hours to give me their wrong diagnosis, without even putting the car up on the lift. They were going to charge me an additional $150 to diagnose the check engine light, despite the code reader giving an accurate reading for free at autozone. I know this place has a lot of loyal customers in Patchogue, but I really hope people get a second opinion before giving them a dime.
My car died on the side of the road due to a Serpentine belt and my I can still drive it home mentality.It was my first time using AAA and they sent out Joe for a tow from MD Auto who had me laughing at a time I could have been panicked. The original plan was to take it to my local (Sayville) shop, but after speaking with Joe, I felt more than comfortable letting him take the car back to his shop. I am glad that I did - speedy repair that came in under estimate, and phone calls from them letting me know what was going on with the car (needed a part ordered) every step of the way during the Christmas/New Year week! Kudos to you all at MD Auto! I will be scheduling a regular maintenance with you all soon!Jim
The truck driver Joe was the best! My van was dangerously stuck on the side of the highway and he towed it anyways, with an f150 on the bed at the same time! He was awesome and got it to pepboys just fine. He made me smile after a crazy day and was the best person that could have come to tow.
I only came across M&D when I had to use AAA. Boy am I glad that I found these guys. Ive had to use their service a few times since and I couldnt be more happy with the services provided. Came in to have car inspected, my car computer wouldnt communicate with their device. They took their time to troubleshoot and find the solution (broken wire under my dash). Professional, reliable & friendly. I Definitely recommend.

My cars starter went while at dinner in Patchogue. They picked it up and towed it to their shop. Fixed it within 24 hours. Great warranty! Very friendly. Clean waiting room my only complaint and reason not 5 stars, poor communication. I had to call several times for updates.
The men at this company are so professional and courteous and very friendly. They did everything they said they would without being pushy. And really took the time to go over everything with me. They even emailed me pictures of what they found in my car.

I had a terrible experience with a tow that i received. I was very disappointed. Matt the owner called me the next day and was very apologetic and compassionate. I was actually taken aback. He told me he would look into the issue further and prevent this from happening again....i hope that he does as this tow driver was absolutely horribly RUDE and inconsiderate. After speaking with Matt I am revising my review to reflect his care for customer service.
I got a flat tire. I called for roadside assistanceThey gave me an ETA, they were pretty accurate. Joe, the flatbed driver was AMAZING!!! FAST & FRIENDLY!!!! I counldnt thank him enough. Next time i catch a flat, im calling them. I saved their # in my phone!!!
Never, never will I bring back my car-I brought my car in for an inspection. It passed on emissions, failed on safety-including windshield wiper blades?? Had them recently replaced and they are working well. Told them I have a mechanic in the family, and Ill bring it back to rerun the inspection and got the strangest look, as I was quoted over $300 to get the work done and then it would pass. Within a few days, my check engine light came on, with nothing prior causing an issue that should have caused it to come on. I need to double check that nothing improper had been done, as I have this sinking feeling. Had great results with them a few years back, and this was why I specifically went back to them and was willing to wait. Never again. And if I find out any thing was improperly done, I will be following through. This is my honest experience and nothing made up nor exaggerated.

Joe came and attempted to repair the tire however informed me it was my valve stem. so he proceeded to un jam my spare and put it on. the entire time he was courteous and informative, very respectful and sweet. i hope to see him the next time i need AAA

If youre a lady, do your research before accepting whatever this shop tells you. I needed an oil change and also needed air in my tires. The shop owner tried to tell me I needed additional maintenance referring to the air tire pressure light on. I took my car to a gas station and filled my tires for $1.00. My car was a brand new Hyundai Elantra 2017 with less than 3,000 miles
Our car broke down on the way to NYC, The guys worked on our car all day and got us back on the road. They were courteous, hospitable and, best of all, did a great job at a reasonable price.I highly recommend them

Worst shop to ever exist has been found. Had a vehicle towed, waited 3 hours for them to pick it up. Then waited for other 4 hours for the car to be delivered to the repair shop. Apparently the original towed truck broke down. So another was dispatched. I was never told, no update on the status of where my vehicle was. Their response was, Things happen. lol bunch of a*hole. Avoid at all cost.

Called them for towing service and repair , they told me to wait 1 and half hour but even after 4 hours they never showed off. Called back again then they told me they didnt have any record regarding my case.. Disappointed. Still waiting for the response.

They did a good job They took the time to look in to all the problems of the car and told me what was wrong now my car runs great and with no leaks on thank you
The staff is great and very friendly, upfront and honest about what goes on with your car. They explain clearly willing to take my car back there anytime something is wrong.

Great service got a flat on the way to work the spare was flat they towed me to their shop plugged the tire had me back on the road quickly the people were very friendly and helpful I would highly recommend MD auto repair.

2022-03-05Its so hard to find an honest mechanic on long island. I finally found one and I wont ever go anywhere else. Customer service is exceptional. I went in for an inspection on my Lincoln Town car. My gas cap was broken and they fixed it free of charge! They told me my brakes and rotors would need to be changed soon but I still had some time on them. I decided to have them take care of them while the car was there. They changed the brakes, roters and fluid for a very reasonable price. My car is driving so much better! They also got everything done in 1 day. Very happy with the service I received. 10/10 would recommend!!

2022-06-17When my car broke down, I had it towed to M & D Auto. They saw what the immediate issue was (a broken radiator and corroded lines), they replaced parts, fluids and did maintenance of the system. They also gave me a thorough courtesy inspection of my car. I especially appreciate this because it is an older car. I will definitely return for more service. They have been honest, thorough & courteous. I recommend M & D Auto to everyone

2022-04-16They have now done oil changes, inspections and replaced my front end suspension on my Envoy. Really happy with their work. Plan on going back. Love that it is also part of my community and family owned and not a large chain. They also have a great warranty on their work. They also are a part of AAA towing service!

2022-06-30I dealt with Matt who was above and beyond in every aspect. He made sure to recommend fixes I could do for myself as well as offering to fully handle the service if I needed. In the end I was able to drive my vehicle again the same day! Really above and beyond in every way. Fantastic service.

2021-11-30Fantastic service was an a++ prompt and they talked me threw everythingUnfortunately there was no sence on saving the car due to lower ball joint giving out the price they quoted me for job with upper and lower ball joints and an axle and few other parts was good just car has had other major problems with it and more money into it was not worth it to me and my wife .At the end of it they helped us with getting rid of the car

2022-02-13So glad I found this mechanic. They are friendly and not trying to scam you like every other Long Island mechanic. Got my brakes done on my 2018 Kia Soul and they just want what’s best for you and your car. They offered me the premium brakes which had a great warrantee on them that was only a couple bucks more than the next step down. Well worth it! Will never go anywhere else again!
