I have been a satisfied Meenan customer for about 50 years, both in my current home and in my previous home. I have not had any problems with service and the technicians come at all hours, even during the night. I receive oil deliveries and have a service contract with them. I never run out of oil and when my husband notices that the tank is getting low, Meenan just happens to come a day or two later.
The Meenan technician failed to inspect my upstairs zone for proper functioning of the heating system during tune up/maintenance call in summer.On 11/03/21, when weather changed, the heat failed to work on second floor.Upon requesting service Meenan made me wait over 16 hours for a technician to address the problem. Extremely rude customer service, not helpful, employees hanging up the phone on customers. Took thirty minutes to reach a supervisor.Do not recommend.
Not happy. Waited all afternoon for a burner cleaning. Made the appointment weeks ago for the only day that fits between other work being done. Called them 2x to be sure they were coming. Was assured they would show up. 30 minutes later they called. Cannot make the appointment. Apparently only one person performs burner maintenance.UPDATE?received a call within an hour of posting this. They were able to send someone out late evening. They get high marks for taking care of this
I never write reviews but just wanted to share that after signing a contract, they found an issue with one of the thermostat . They ended up breaking the whole heating system and when they came back saying they cancelled my contract . Hear the office person saying “ i dont care just leave” despite technician told her well its cold here we cant leave people in this cold . She repeated I dont care. Dont sign up with them !! And if you are resigned them
The company will not communicate with you after signing a contract. When I made an annual service appointment, I asked the representative to please contact me regarding contract renewal. This never happened, nor did I receive a voicemail, e-mail, or physical mail. I got a delivery of oil as soon as my contract expired and they charged me over 3.80 a gallon! I called to resolve this, their response was that they would would charge me 3.25 as long as I signed a new contract. Other companies are charging around 2.80 for a 100 gallon delivery. Greed and insensitivity doesnt begin to describe these actions. To be honest, I liked the technicians, but I cant for the world understand why the company would pull the chair out from a customer who has paid every bill in-full since day one for multiple years.
Woke up with no heat the other day so I called Meenan. I expected to hear they would get here the next day. They gave me a window of time for that day. Sent someone here on time and he fixed it right up.Awesome service. I am a new customer and will be with them forever with service like that. Very pleased ! Thank you Meenan!

So I signed a contract for $155.00 a month for heating oil for the year at the end of the year they charged me all the extra unnecessary deliveries they made.They claimed it was more oil then they accounted for after they sat here and calculated the usage prior to giving the price and claim it would be like that for the year. I called to cancel after I paid it because It was dishonest of them to do that, they do not honor their agreement. The only good thing is that you never run out of oil because they constantly come but beware that you will get charged for that extra oil. After I canceled the contract they came back and re-delivered! and charged me this time separately saying I did not cancel the service I only canceled the contract. So now I have a $531.00 bill and they are negligent to discuss the matter and they will not send me a copy of the contract.
I have been using Meenan Oil for my oil delivery contract and service contract on both our heating system and air conditioning system for more than 10 years at two different homes on Long Island. The service, when needed is always prompt, reliable, professional and they show up! They are a great company to work with!

Ive been with Meenan oil for over 20 years and Ive notice customer service started to go downhill after the COVID. When I call to have my oil delivered, I never waited more than 1 min to speak to a live person. Now I cant speak to a person after waiting literally 45 mins on the phone. This is ridiculous!!
I used Meenan for almost 12 years for oil and serviceFirst off getting a tune up of your system will take 6-14 months. They are that backed up and under staffed (pre Covid)Second I have a contracted price that I paused delivery on due to some work at my home. They immoderately sent me a cancel fee and are harassing me to pay a cancel fee for putting deliveries on holdThird I reviewed the agreement (an email asking me to elect a fixed or ceiling price) which said nothing about any termination feesI am writing this review then co tact if the BBb and filing a formal complaint with the NYS attorney general today since they keep sending me a cancellation fee bill now with late feesThey are owned by petro, Meenan and Petro same shady business.I would run to Slomins. At least there the reps and contract is upfront.This cancel fee is no where to be found in my acceptance of the rates and 1 year term and I did t even cancelScammy. I’m sure the NY AG will have them adjust their bullying tactics and fine them
Great service. My boiler wasn’t working and out of all days it was New Year’s Eve I called for service first thing in the morning on New Year’s Day. And the lady told me . You don’t have to wait. We can send someone now . I felt bad for the service person. But at the same time I didn’t have heat or hot water. Meenan stays with their word they are the best.
So far, so good. We just moved in and signed a contract with Meenan for oil delivery as well as service. Our first routine service including a new programmable thermostat was set up for about 3 weeks. However, a few days later the weather turned cold and we couldnt figure out how to get the heat to turn on, thinking that the thermostat might be malfunctioning. I called the salesman who sold me the contract and with a phone call tot he service manager, he was able to get the routine service appointment moved up to that day. The technician checked out the burner, the oil level in the tank and replaced the old thermostat with the new one. We had heat! I greatly appreciate how swiftly this new-to-us company responded and fixed our problem without it costing me anything additional. especially after just purchasing the house!
Joe Sr. Tech#175 is the best in the business. I know!!! I have been a home owner for 17 years and have had several people come to my house to take my money. Joe Sr. Meenan Tech 175 treated my home (My furnace) like his own!! Its great to see a company like Meenan hire old school guys that care about quality
I have a Gas elite protection program with Meenan, they offer one of the more comprehensive gas heat protection programs. Ive never had to use it for an emergency, but they come out and do yearly service and are always prompt and professional. I contacted them for an issue with my central AC, they repaired the issue professionally and reasonably.
I have been with Meenan for over 30 years. The staff is always professional. Any time my system is not working I simply call them ans service is sent fast. I had service the other day and I have to complement the technician who came to service my boiler. Amazing as always. Anyone looking for new company I highly recommend Meenan oil. They are the beat around....
In these times safety is a two way street. Service person came in with mask as we were wearing as well. All was wiped down prior to arrival. As far as service it was unfortunate for us we did have to call twice, in one day, but for different issues that the first could have not known would happen. Not their fault! Meenan customer service kept us informed. And less than 24 hours later we are back in business. I’ve been a meenan customer for many years. I know there are “better deals” on oil prices but for us having a contract in a time of need takes much of the stress out of having a leak, etc! To our family it’s worth it. It’s an expense for sure but you can’t match being a call away from help.
After our power had been out for 4 days from the tropical storm, our oil burner didn’t kick back on when power was restored. I called Meenan and with 2 hours a service man was at our door. Not only did he fix the problem, he also did our yearly service at the same time. All safety protocols were followed.
I had a central A/C installed last April by Meenan. First the salesman sold me a unit that I agreed to and right before they were to install it told me he made a mistake and that that unit was only used in other states and told me the new one I was supposed to get which was a lesser of a model for the same price. After arguing they finally lowered the price a little .They were supposed to get permits for the work and here we are a YEAR later and after over a dozen emails with no response I still do not know if the permits were filed, I do not know if I actually get a physical permit for my records or if its just on record with the county.NO ONE EVER GETS BACK FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE A SIMPLE QUESTION!! I would stay away between the bait and switch with the unit and this I would never use them or even refer them to anyone. I used them because they are in business a long time and frankly I dont know how if they do things like this!
I am updating this review to 4 star. I was contacted by a supervisor at Meenan and they were able to set an appointment closer to today and take care of me.Took a day off from work to wait for the tune-up guy and he didnt even bother to ring the doorbell and left saying I was not home. Now I have to reschedule for 2 months later because of their laziness. STAY AWAY!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! At 7:50 a.m. I reported an oil leakage from the copper tubing line going from the oil tank into my home. Again at 8:20 a.m. I reported the same leak and having difficulty turning off the shut off valve. Jaimie said she would request assistance ASAP. Nobody showed up until 3:35 p.m...almost 8 hours later. This could have been a huge clean up bill had I not been able to shut the valve off. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY. My opinion is ...They just don’t care!!!
Meenan has amazing people that work for them. Whenever there is an issue, starting from the person on the phone to the tech that come out to my house is very friendly and patient. The techs are simply the best. They always show up when they are suppose to. They go above and beyond. They have always left my house clean after a call and no mess. They make sure to check with me before leaving that everything is working and the way I prefer it.
I would highly recommend Meenan Oil for stepping up and doing the right thing by helping my 88 yr old mom out. We had a new oil tank Installed 4 years ago, some trouble occurred and Meenan and their installation division Milro Group stepped up and rectified the situation. A very special thanks to Anne Schmidt who spearheaded this, and made it work out for us!
I found out at around 6 PM that i didnt have hot water. Checked the tank and it looked empty. I called Meenan and they said i should have about half a tank and wasnt due for a delivery until september. She said she would set up a delivery in a few hours. Around 8 a technician shows up, and at first i didnt understand why he came instead of an oil deliver. He checked the tank, and then looked at the hot water heater. Turns out there was a leak in the heater, and used up all the oil! He said there were a few parts that he had to replace, and then he would put in 20 gallons of diesel. He was there for a few hours, and got it all fixed. Thank goodness he came. He was efficient, professional, and wore a mask. I was so glad to have Meenan as my provider, to help take care of this.
The service call was later than the scheduled appointment with NO communication. Since it was already an hour after the scheduled appointment and it was already evening we wanted to know the new expected arrival time but was told by the office that they couldn’t contact the driver ( not allowed to while he’s driving).Finally, the office did call back with a time, and the repair part of the service was very good.We still have to reschedule the annual service.This is a case that if there was good communication a lot of frustration and negative feelings would have been avoided.I hope this review helps your service and other customers!
I’m very happy with the service I received today and every time they responded. Everything was in my contract so no out of pocket costs. They are always fast, but in a pandemic I thought I would be waiting a long time to get a tech out to my house. Brian Z was at my house when they said he would be and he fixed everything quickly. I am a long time customer and I will continue to be.
Been a customer for well over 20 years and I have to say Meenan has never let us down! I rarely have a problem thanks to their annual oil burner tune ups. But recently something malfunctioned. They got here quickly and got everything functioning again! Joe (tech no. 150) the service tech. was fantastic!! Super knowledgeable and an incredibly nice person.. He truly is an asset to the company. Thanks Meenan. I personally would not go anywhere else!
Excellent. First time home buyers and our experience has been great. We needed service on our boiler at 11 at night and Joe (tech #150) came out within the hour and was very pleasant and knowledgable. He did a fantastic job. Also, the customer service rep. was super nice and called to let us know that someone Was on the way. Thank you all for your service!
I’ve been without heat due to a broken pipe for almost 12 hours. Tech came out last night and said someone would be here between 8-12. No one came instead they left us a voicemail saying that they’d reschedule for Wednesday morning. Just spoke with another rep saying they’ll be here today by 3. So let’s see. I’ll update soon.Update: still no heat. Meenan wasn’t able to fix the problem so they outsourced it to another company. It was too late in the day for them to effectively have a solution. They’ll be back in the morning. If only meenan hadn’t cancelled my original 8-12 time slot due to a clerical error I’d probably have heat by now.Final update: finally thanks to order-a-plumber, I got heat but still no outreach from meenan to make sure everything was taken care of or even an apology. I guess this is what you get from a big corporation.
Meenan,s technicians have always been the best. A recent visit to fix a problem with my boiler ended as usual. The problem fixed. Expeditiously, quickly, and without any hassle. The tech wore a mask to comply with recent virus rules. Best oil company out there, by a mile.
As always, Meenan delivers. I love that I can call them at any hour of the day & someone will come out. They explain what is wrong & what needs to be done. Their repairmen are always courteous and clean up after themselves. I have been a customer for 20 years and would highly recommend Meenan.
My contract was coming to an end when I received an e-mail from another oil company with a much better price per gallon for oil. I called Meenan before renewing my contract and asked if they could match the price. They said they couldnt. I was still due my annual boiler cleaning so I asked to make an appointment. I was given an appointment for two months out. I told them my contact would be up 8 days before that day. They said dont worry your owed the boiler cleaning and will be there to fulfill there obligation. well needless to say they never showed up and when I called they said even though my appointment was on record my contract was up and they were not coming.Do not do business with this company. They are dishonorable and do not live up to there word
Company will use any tactics necessary to raise your price and hope you do not realize - double talk when on the phone with you and then not care to try and help - even with them helping they wanted to be almost $1.00 more per gallon than any other company when I should have been locked in from Feb 2021 - unethical business practices and unwillingness to admit mistakes - stay away at all costs
3/17/20 Meenan calls to schedule a burner tuneup - FANTASTIC _ very proactive - like car maintenance ! So thrilled ! Other companies didnt do tuneups - claiming any service calls was the tuneup. So thrilled with Meenan !!All of the Techs are Knowledgeable and courtesy . And will take the time to explain the issues with the burner if you’re interested. And also tell me what they are doing . Just fabulous!! So Happy I switched back to them 2 yrs ago !
I have no complaints about Meenan. They are quick to fix any situations that arise and I have only dealt with amazing customer service. They are quick to come when I call, even on New Years Day when we didnt have heat, they were there in one hour.Every oil company is going to have issues but we just moved and we took them with us to our new house after having them for 2 years in our other house.Highly recommend them

I would highly recommend getting service done by Meenan. When we made the initial call an appointment was made right away. The tech came (James) told us what we needed and they ordered the parts. From initial call to work being done took about 8 or 9 days. Our tech was very knowledgeable and the price for all work was great. We had our Fujitsu ductless system repaired. No a/c due to thermistor issues. Good work.
I have been a Meenan customer for 11 years and have never experienced the rude customer service that has been mentioned in other reviews. I speak with them several times a year and have always received professional courteous assistance. Occasionally I check their oil and service contract prices and with the two of them combined feel they are fair. I especially like that they have a large service crew who usually arrives quickly in an emergency.
The last thing I needed during this social distancing was to have a problem with my heating and hot water. I had no choice but to call Meenan. The service man came into my home wearing a mask and gloves to repair my boiler. He was polite and very professional and was able to even preform a tune-up that was scheduled for May. Great Job Meenan!
We used to buy oil on the spot market believing we were getting a deal. Having a contract with Meenan gives us peace of mind and excellent service that you cant put a price on. Routine maintenance is anything but routine. Complete tuneup included all filters, lines flushed, nozzle cleaned. Bob arrived on time and spent 2 hours doing a thorough job.
Meenan remains highly reliable with very good customer service. The family home on Long Island where my mother resides has probably used Meenan for a couple of decades. This week we had an oil odor in the house (was probably from the street). We called Meenan just to be safe and a service professional was there in 1.5 hours. He did a check up and tune up on the burner and verified there was nothing to worry about. Always fast and reliable, thanks Meenan.
Had to have an emergency call on a sunday because we were getting weird smells and some smoke. Meenan arrived in less then 2 hrs. Brian our technician was really nice. not only explained what our issue was but what we needed to do to our system. And everything was included in the service agreement. We didnt have to pay anything. Thus far any technician we have had in our house has been pleasant and all reps were nice. They have also been really good about delivering oil without us asking.
My entire experience with this company has been aweful! I went with them because thats who the previous homeowner used. I buy the service plan but they wont come service it without charging. Twice I tried to service with them and it keeps costing more. So Ive spent about $500 after paying for a service plan where nothing is covered. So then I ask to cancel my service plan. The transfer me from Customer service to customer service....so long I wrote this review and will prob be on hold for another half hour. I should have went somewhere else!!!
Weve used Meenan for 24 years after switching from another company. Their service personnel are very well-trained and calls are responded to quickly. Oil prices are a bit more than cash on delivery companies, but obviously it is because they have to maintain a large and efficient service force. Recently purchased a generator from them. Pricing was competitive and they did an excellent job, including making sure proper permitting and codes were followed.
Unfortunately I made a contract with Meenan for 2 consecutive years and now i regret it! They always gave me the cap price on my oil deliveries even if the market price was lower, worst customer service EVER, they dont let you talk and very rude! Because i didnt want to renew my contract for this year they left my house without delivery and i ran out of oil so they would charge me extra $60. Never again!
Calling Meenan is a painful experience and requires about 20-30 minutes at most times in order to get a human on the phone. There is clearly a limited number of receptionists answering the phone no matter what time of the week or time and season. I need to speak to Meenan. My last few service visits have been very disappointing and required second visits to fix the mistakes made by previous service appointments. The most recent technicians, with one exception do not seem interested in their job. As a customer for almost 50 years, I see a degradation in their work ethic and the management which was very strong with Bill Anderson and others never deals directly with the customer.Very disappointing.
On multiple occasions I have needed to call Meenan in a hurry because of issues with my 50 year old boiler and when my wife was home with the newborn baby and the heat went out at around midnight, they were there in an hour with someone to get us going until the morning. When the boiler finally went, I had them replace it with a new system and its flawless. I cant say enough for their service. Pay for the best service plan. Its worth it.
I have been a Meenan Customer for 11 years now. I want to thank them for the amazing service I always receive. The customer service is awesome. Prices are decent. I have been a customer for 3+ years, because I like the price ceiling they give you, and because they have a monthly payment plan, so it makes budgeting for oil a bit easier.Thats where the good ends though. As with most companies, you have to pay an annual fee, and that includes service to your furnace. But good luck getting an appointment. I had to wait nearly 8 months for my appointment (they came in August), and it was at 8pm. I totally forgot all about it when someone knocked on my door saying they were there for the furnace.And the delivery people stink. They leave my gate open regularly after the delivery. We have a dog, and we dont often walk around the house to make sure all our gates are closed. Recently, we heard a crying from our front door, only to find my dog there. The gate was left open from the delivery. Luckily it was so cold out the dog didnt want to wander too far from home. Youd think that ensuring that gates are closed behind them would be common place.Ive recently cancelled my service with Meenan after awful experience with customer service. I just wanted pricing for the new year, and got such an attitude, and when asked if I could speak with a manager, they said no one else is here and continued to supply the worst/most rude customer service Ive ever had.
Meenan has over charged me for 1.5 years . The rates they offer are $.30 cent higher per gallon for locked in rates than I have found anywhere. The customer service dept feels since they have 20,000 clients your not important . You can have a service contract but if they dont come once a year and you dont call they wont care or credit you. I switched from Slomins to Meenan some years ago and have never regretted the move. Meenans techs are professional, skilled and overall nice guys who get the work done efficiently. Meenans service contracts are a great value - they honor their commitment and dont try to nickle and dime you. Their phone agents, sales team and others are also professional, but even more importantly for me, they are helpful,l folks that understand what its like to live on Long Island and have to deal with what we deal with on daily basis. They listen to my concerns and always seem to do the right thing. I highly recommend this company.
Their burner service is excellent, but the people answering the phones give out wild appointments times. I called in August to have the yearly burner serviced, but informed November would be the date. I indicated to the representative I was speaking to that would be a breach of contract and that I would look for another oil company if this is the schedule. The agent was kind enough to call their dispatch, and now I am getting my burner service tomorrow between 8-12 AM. I am satisfied but scheduling this servicing should not be this difficult.
Stay Away!!!Read the reviews carefully before signing up with Meenan.They failed to show up on a emergency heat call for 48 hours. They also tried to tell me my water heater was dead and to buy a new one for $3,500 when all my heater needed was a simple adjustment.We were with them for a grand total of 2 oil deliveries.The 2nd delivery a hole mysteriously appeared in my tank. They wanted over 5k to just install a new tank.We switched to gas instead. No more headaches.Meenan then fails to send me an itemized bill to close out our account. I tell them on 3 separate occasions that I need to see what I am being billed for. I finally get a bill after months of asking for 1.I dispute 1 charge on the bill and was then told i was being sued by them!!Do yourselves a favor and stay away from these people.The blanket response on these other reviews from the owner asking you to call and discuss is a joke. Nothing gets resolved.They just string you along.
My service technician, John, arrived within the time frame that I was told. John was extremely knowledgeable and not only knew exactly where my problem was but then in a understandable explanation told me exactly what my problem was and how he would repair it which he proceeded to do unexpectedly quick. John left my home as clean as he found it.Problem solved, heat works and everyone here is very happy, thank you John!
The Techs are professional and explain to the customers what happen or why the boiler stop working. This is one of the reason I stay with Meenan I feel confident that they will fix the problem no matter what time of day it is.There customer service has also been topnotch.
I just renewed with this company in the beginning of January. they came to check my boiler . i had to pay five hundred for a boiler part they said had to replaced. That is not the problem. On the contract I signed they are suppose to do automatic delivery. On February 27th i come home to find no heat nor hot water due to no oil. called them they send someone with emergency 10 gal at a cost $25 with the promise of next day delivery. I called them the next day to make sure they will be sending that delivery they confirmed . I came home that evening to find out no oil was delivered . i call they can not explain why. end of our conversation with the promise of early delivery March 1st, it is 10:40 am. no sign of them.My oil tank is on empty. I am so upset but I cant even cancel cause I signed that contract unless i pay them 400 dollars.. their service SUCKS..THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR PROMISES BUT WE NEED TO PAY IF WE WANT CANCEL....I just check my mailbox they did come at 639 amleft me 533.61 bill in my mailbox . does not change the fact that their are a terrible company .. happy that i got my delivery early. but I am still not a satisfied customer..
Have had Meenan 3 months. 3 service calls. First 2 went well. Easy fixes. Third one yesterday they sent out a Tech with 20 gallons to hold us off till tomorrows oil delivery. 11/08. Their date was 11/12 then on another call 11/20!! Never would have made it through. They didnt put the 20 gallons in. Said l had 10 inches of oil. On top of this the Tech tells my wife that we should get a new oil tank in basement. Rusting. This is while Im at a cardiologist getting checked out. Christ!! I called at 8:07 this morning 11/07 and am transferred to a salesman Ed. He then tells me their main guy Joe Wilby l think he said will call. Never did. I called at 4:15 and the staff was nice but it seems the right hand doesnt tell the left hand what its doing. I finally find out Meenan doesnt install new oil tanks!!! They told me to call a company named Milro in Freeport!! Their reviews are horrible!!! Im in Shirley, N.Y. 2 Seniors stuck in a house they only bought in August. Can l use another installer?? That means another call to Meenan. Help!!!Why did l get a response from Petro Oil instead of Meenan????I dont have Petro!!!
Update on below - cost me almost $100 in logs to keep fire going, my wife and I both had to take 1/2 day off work, and it took 47 hours from first call to final resolution. Cant imagine what my electric bill will be since we had heaters, range, and oven constantly on.---------------------------Several issues. Typically takes several months to get a maintenance appt.We have an outage now. We called 17 hours ago and still no service. Tried calling back and just get busy signals (presumably theyve taken the phone off the hook). Running out of firewood and concerned pipes will start freezing. Not sure anyone else is better but this is certainly not good. Presumably the line isfrozen. If they were good, they would have serviced the problem in a reasonable timeframe. If they were really good they would have notified customers and put additives in the tanks to reduce freezing.
While the staff at Meenan was always professional and qualified, I recently learned they have a very bad policy in place. I sold my house last week and had to get a reading of my oil tank for the closing. Even though my last bill for oil was $3.749 (non contract price) for 66 gallons and the previous one was for 211 gallons at $2.939 they priced the oil at $2.499. They did lower the last bill to my contract price of $2.999 after I complained but they delivered 277 gallons (on a 275 gallon tank) in the past 2 months. Their explanation is that they price the oil for a closing based on market price (not sure what that means but I havent paid $2.49 in years). I was a customer for over 32 years and they are more concerned with getting a new customer and cheating me out of the money I paid them to look good for a potential new customer. I am very disappointed with them. By the way, when I explained this to one of their customer service reps she said she thought the oil was priced at current delivery rates and was surprised at this policy. Very poor communication within the company and obviously something that they should be ashamed of doing to long term customers.An update 6-26-19. Per Meenans response to this post, I called the number the Meenan representative said to call - which I know from being a customer for over 32 years is the general number. I was a little concerned because they didnt leave a name or specific extension or department. But, I called this morning and spoke to a customer service rep who didnt know anything about google reviews and said she would check with her supervisor. I was then put on hold for over 25 minutes and eventually hung up because now I felt like a fool as they really dont seem to have any process in place to handle inquiries such as mine. So, now you know how they didnt make me happy which is contrary to what they posted.6-28-19. Tina, a Supervisor, called me on the 26th and was very understanding of my concerns. She was unaware of the policy and said she would talk to her Manager and get back to me next week. She actually called me the next day and told me that because I was a long term customer and they didnt want to have me leave feeling cheated they would reimburse me the difference from what I paid versus how they priced the oil. This actually made me feel better because it is more in line with how I felt they treated me over the years with very good service and respect. I still cant give them 5 stars because I feel their policy of pricing oil is wrong, but as far as service and quality they are very good and get 5 stars for that.
I have been a Meenan Customer for 6 years in two different homes. I have had my ups and downs with service and repairs, but overall I was satisfied with company as whole. Unfortunately, this year I received no letter or phone call to alert me of the upcoming renewal. I called in 3 x times to discuss my renewal. I never received a call back until I filled out a survey and gave a negative review. The rep stated they have been busy with other renewals and she apologized for the delay. She told me oil had gone up significantly (60 cents) over my previous contract. I told her I would be shopping around and I asked my account to be suspended. She informed me I would receive a phone call from the retention department. This is the point were things became heated, Catherine from retention was total professional up until I rejected her offer. At that point she became irritate because I was leaving Meenan over a 10 cent difference in price. She explained to me that Meenan was on par with government and COD prices, I told her that she was mistaken as of last week the COD prices were $2.65. In all my years I cannot recall when my set fuel delivery ceiling price dropped. I did not appreciate being berated over wanting the best price, especially since my alarm service is through Meenan as well. Catherines excuse for the lack of the call back was Meenan was implementing a new phone system that prevented them from making outgoing calls. A claim another rep I spoke to afterwards refuted. Her actions have caused me to look elsewhere for fuel and alarm services with other companies that value customers. There are several other companies that seem to value customers more, especially veterans. If you want customers to stay, it pays to treat them with respect and understanding.
I have a service contract with Meenan Oil. I called during this Covid 19 epidemic for a slight fuel leak dripping underneath the blower motor onto the concrete floor. The Meenan tech responded promptly and was wearing all of the necessary PPE . He spent about 2 hours working on the problem replacing numerous parts, (new blower motor, fuel lines and fuel pump assembly). He also performed a complete tune up and cleaning. I have nothing to complain about Meenan. Yeah, their not the cheapest but what full service oil company on LI is. I believe they are very reliable and recommend them to anyone.
I contacted Meenan because I had no hot water. It was approximately 8pm on Thursday. The gentleman on the phone waa very nice. He told me he would send a technician to my house anytime between now and 5am. Thankfully they called me arround 10 and told me the tech was on its way. I also received an email to track the tech and find out how long it would take for him to come to my house. The tech took less than 30 minutes and fixed the problem.Thank you Meenan for your 24/7 service.
Horrible. I never write reviews but I feel compelled too. Never a problem before we switched to meenan. We like the idea of the service contact and got the cap rate. I have had 3 deliveries in the past two months. They came theee days ago and my tank is less than 7/8 full. They show we are at 93% capacity. We are actually 87%. I asked them to stop deliveres and I was told they cant they are not a will callCompany. I cannot wait until this contract is over. Never again. Over $800 on oil in the span on 2 months and we are not home during the day!
I am beyond frustrated with Meenan. I have been a customer for over 20 years, and have found the service over the past few years to have declined. Long waits on hold, high prices for heating oil and services contracts, and I have been over-billed several times. One price on the receipt, another price on the bill.
I have had this company for many years Ive been very satisfied with the service, now it is Sadly ALL about the Customers $$, rather than the Customers ! They sure call you to renew that service contract, but thats where it seems to end, once youve paid for it! They Never yet have called me to schedule the Free Tune up thats part of it, you have to call them! In all the years Ive been w/ Meenan, Ive not broken down or used my contract for anything but that included Tune up.However, after trying to get through 5x & make an appointment, I first was told it had been done for this year. But I quickly offered proof it hadnt & tried to schedule the service they owed me for my last PAID Contract. I was given a date of December 07th.! They did say they would try to get me in sooner, Maybe.Now my old contract due for renewal, for which I had already been sent the New Higher price for, only came w/ a service contract price, NO RENEWAL OIL PRICE!SO, on 9/21/18 I was given the price (which I Had to ask for) of $3.16, this is up from $2.60! I said, I didnt want to renew w/ such a high cap & wanted to wait a bit. Then that afternoon received a letter in the mail that I would Have to renew or pay their Varible price. I called back & said I didnt need oil now, so please dont deliver any now or till I decided what I would be doing. It seemed fine w/ them on Fri. 9/21.Yesterday, an abrupt, pushy woman named Donna called to give me ultimatums or force me into a commitment. She claimed the price was NOW $3.81 A Gal & if I renew on the phone Immediately, she would Do me a huge favor & honor the $3.16 price. If I didnt, they would Not be doing any Tune up here whether it was scheduled & paid for didnt matter!I said since, I never used the service contract, AS USUAL & THEY Were refusing me owed , paid for tune up they should refund my last years service Contract payment. Thats when the Real Double talking started! I felt I was being threatened into an overpriced deal & asked for a few days to think about it. She said I HAD to Call her back by 8:30pm or she was cancelling my account! She finally agreed to 24 hours, But she wasnt holding The $3.16 price! This is the way youre treated as a long standing, always paying on time Customer? I then out of curiosity checked the COD prices, which were Not Grossly increased in the last 4 days, as she mistakenly claimed! We know their less, but $1.32 a gal less, I dont think so!My Lawyer says to take you to small claims court, perhaps that will get your attention!
Went into a service plan I was told it was cheaper ended up being outrageously expensive. Not to mention once the service plan was over they came to fill my tank and literally barely put anything in. Ran out of oil this was in April. Had to call them to get an emergency refil. I was charged for a full tank the man who came showed me how much they put in I believe it was less than 30 gallons. Than charged for the 10 gallons for them coming out to hold me over. On top of being over charged against the agreement for prices that went up. I didn’t realize I fell behind because of this, called for a settlement and to get the price situated for the low fill. The lady we spoke to said she needed to speak to management and she’d call back. She never did, left almost no notes. Still trying to get this situation under control but customer service doesn’t care and are rude. Stay away! Customer service rude, they leave no notes, pawn you off to the next day or some one else, only out for money, and they play games with prices.Once this is situated I’m leaving this company and using some one else. Can’t believe the ride I’ve been through with this unorganized rude company.
They have let us run out of oil 3 times in a row when we have a contract with them for automatic delivery. This is how they treat my wife and I on Veterans Day, which she happens to be a vet. Way to look after the ones that volunteer there lives for your freedom. Meenan you guys have to get your act together big time.
Was our first service call since we moved into our new home and it was a pleasure from the phone call to the service Tec. Being Thanksgiving week I thought for sure I would be waiting days, nope .. I called mid day and had a Tec at my house by 5:30, being a fire homeowner he was great and patient with us. He fixed what we needed and in no time, thank you for your service .
Called Meenan to schedule an emergency refill and was hung up on twice. Their associates dont seem to know whats going on or what departments work on which days because we were told someone would call us back by 9am and when no one did and we called back someone else said that dept doesnt work sunday. Got the run around and just really prefer not to work with this company anymore as anytime weve had an issue everyone weve talked to (and Im not talking about 1-3 people - MULTIPLE PEOPLE) are not helpful, kind or considerate in any way.
Our fixed price automatic delivery contract expired and as we were negotiating with new companies as well as Meenan for renewal, their truck shows up and fills the tank without our permission. Meenan charged us $3.30 on the invoice for 190 + gallons while the price for this delivery advertised online is $2.70, Meenan robbed us $ 140 in one delivery When I called them asking what was the reason for this delivery, the answer was We are an automatic delivery company I replied our contract expired and no automatic deliveries anymore. And even if you do deliver, why charge $3.3 instead of $2.7, then I added is this how you treat a loyal customer for 3 years The answer was, The only way to stop automatic deliveries is to close your account I replied Then please close my account The lady replied OK and hung up.
We had a few experiences in our home and this company has been A+ plus to us. This evening we had an emergency and they came right away to our home thank you Jose for your time and services during this difficult time were in Thanks Jose for today .Thank you Meenan for ur outstanding services .
Thank you so much for coming to my rescue , the phone agents were so friendly and understanding about my situation, they called the service department for me , talked to the service department thru me , they really helped me out and put in the extra time for me !! The service mechanic was very knowledgeable and very friendly considering the early hours of the morning !! Thank you Meenan for the excellent service and quick response !!
We are sooo grateful that Meenan was able to send a very competent, kind repair man to repair our boiler! It was less than 10 degrees last night at 4:30 a.m. when our boiler had a major malfunction which caused major problems with the other boiler components. This meant we had no heat! Meenan answered the call at that ridiculously early hour & sent a very knowledgeable & competnet repair man that morning at 8 a.m. & fixed all the boiler issues for us! Sooo happy & grateful! The major repair was free as well because we hose the platinum plan when sgning our Meenan’s contract! So worth the extra cost!
Wow. Meenan came today to fix a slab leak in my home. Ive heard nightmare stories about the mess and expense of having a slab leak fixed. The technician that did the work, Brian, did an outstanding job. Brian clearly knew what he was doing from the moment he got here. He was very neat and precise in his work and the job was completed in a very reasonable amount of time, which was another great concern (more time = more $$$$$). Thank you, Meenan, thank you Brian. I would highly recommend both for any type of plumbing and/or slab work.
Had a leaking hot water heater. Meenan service came quickly, assessed the situation and recommended courses of action. Technician was professional and courteous and quickly called in the situation to Meenan Sales, who came by that day to provide more details on remediation.
Used Meenan for two years - ceiling contract and full service boiler contract. Tech for the boiler both PMs was great. Customer service in the office and by the sales team is horrendous. Ceiling rate went up 70% after the first contract - I get it that there are introductory prices but 70% is crazy. I signed with them again because I didnt want to deal with it. Now they want to go up again this year on the ceiling contract even though oil prices on LI have gone down. To top it off, the sales rep that called made several insinuations that I was an idiot and not understanding how things work. I no longer recommend this company and cannot wait to have natural gas on my block if NESE can get approved.
Zero if I could. After much harassment about renewing we caved because we didnt,have time to shop around and it was February. The previous year they put us on a balance billing which never made much sense. They called 3-4 times a day for a month to get us to renew. A month after they reset our contract I wake up to the house being cold and figured let me check the tank. It was empty. I find a voice mail from 4 days earlier regarding our account being past due. Funny that I only received 1 past die call before they stop delivering but I got 400 calls to renew my astronomical contract. Needless to say I will finding a more reliable company. It is 5% outside I have an elderly mother and a toddler but they felt freezing my account was the right thing to do after not getting a response to their one phone attempt days prior.
Just got off the phone with meenan. Im was trying to renew a service contract. Ive was trying to negotiate a better ceiling price after telling him I didnt like the price and that other companies were offering much lower pricing. He told me that a lot of people dont like a lot of things and hung up the phone. I guess Ill be calling someone else. Oh and I never received those credits they promise you after referring two friends.
Over a 30 year customer - shame on me. I got too comfortable until something didnt seem right. Service folks didnt write up complete calls and I had to prove someone was at my home with my receipt. Supervisor wasnt exactly warm and fuzzy to a long time customer. Then I did some pricing and found I can pay much less with contract and oil prices with Tragar. So Im trying them out. What a fool I feel like I have been. Check out Tragar comments too. Worth investigating.
I’ve been a Meenan customer for more than 10 years. In that time, I’ve never had a negative experience. Every employee I’ve had contact with, from the representative that answers the phone to the technician who comes to service my oil burner, are courteous and professional.
I hate writing negative reviews but had the worst experience with this company. Dont sign a contract with them, they trick you. 500 dollars to end contract early. They deliver over 800 dollars worth oil coming every 2 or 3 weeks when the tank is not 1/2 empty and refuses to listen. Customer service members are so rude. STAY AWAY..cant wait to end my contract with them.
Its my 2nd year with Meenans. my 1st year was ok, no major issues, price was good and I even had extra service done on my boiler. My 2nd year, not so great. 1st of all prices went up even though price of oil in general has dropped. I was satisfied with the service so I decided to sign up for another contract. Now having a hard time scheduling a cleaning. Called last month and couldnt even get a date they said they would call me. Just called today and they gave me March of next year. They said theyll put me on a waitlist if something opens up. So Im supposed to just wait around for a call. Totally ridiculous! First of all you took up all these contracts you should make sure you have enough people to do the job. Very unhappy. Will not renew contract next year
I am 83 years old, have a new 9k system and my house is sitting on 64. There is no customer service. The overall performance is non-existent and we are very dissatisfied. Based on the previous negative reviews on Google I feel much more justified. Stay away from this company ,
Service technician exceeded my expectations, he replaced my failing burner motor and also replaced the pump which was the reason for my initial call. In addition he gave both of my units a full servicing, answered all of my questions and gave me some helpful advice, a big thank you!
I have tried 5 companies on Long Island, all provide better pricing than Meenan. They lock you into a contract and game over! Since I refused to renew my contract after the year term, they made 3 deliveries in 3 months to fill my 1000 gallon tank. I asked them to not go over 500 gallons, they refused and said they could fill at their own discretion. Terrible behavior and very petty!
I love meenan... they are really gr8. Chris, mike and technician came today for tune up are awesome..... chris gave us best price for heating oil and even at late night (around 9 pm... wow) mike called up and scheduled inspection and worked on my contract.... todays tune up guy he was also very nice... explained me everything about system, my thermostat... wow great experience...gr8 price and really helpful people... feel like i am in safe hands.... thanks chris & mikefrom vikas
The telephone wait was long but when I got through, I was told of thetechnician coming within the three hours window and sure enough John, who I know came shortly. The cleaning of the burners were also doneinstead of coming back the following day, the scheduled appointment!
Very unhappy with this company. I plan to switch as soon as my contract ends. They dont honor the price cap. They tell you its in the fine print that they can add a few cents to each gallon because theyre a premium company. What a load of bull! They dont call to schedule your annual maintenance. If you dont call them, they dont remind you.
Prices went up A LOT this year. They wanted us to renew - our contract expires at end of February. Meenan is more than happy to renew now, but when we asked to cancel at the end of our contract, the guy refused to cancel. REFUSED. We are ok to wait till end of contract to switch, we just want to cancel now. Meenan basically said, we dont care, you have to call on the LAST DAY to cancel. Hoping what, well forget? what a crappy way to treat people. STAY AWAY.
On hold for over an hour for a service call. Finally promised a service call between 3 and 6 pm (10 hours after call) and then they didn’t show up. Now not answering phone.. I would think twice about this company. I am switching unless I get a call and apology ( in which case I will post) within the next hour or two. I paid a service contract!
The most horrible company ever. I just purchased my home in Sept, never had any experience with oil moving from NYC. The way they advertise their company is that they are family owned and operate. I love underdogs and will support mom & pop shop over any large big corporation.So I signed up, and thought GREAT! ehhh wrong. Although I have a contract, I stopped/pause my delivery because the house is vacant. When I called to paused the delivery, NO ONE said it breaches your contract. So from this company, I have never ever received a single drop of oil or any servicing from this company and they have the nerve to send me an invoice for $400 for breach of contract. Yes, I am upset...highly.When I call the customer service, based on the notes from the previous representative they claimed I called in to cancel my contract. Is this how family business operates?And so unfortunate for me as a first time homebuyer to deal with an incompetent company such as meenan. My opinion is, that Meenan oil is worse than those bloodsucking corporation. I rather blow up my house with explosive than let them anywhere near my property. The nerve of them .Exploiting their customers, preying upon their lack of experience and they think they can send whatever invoice or bill they want and then they threaten you to put you in collections.
They suck! Website, payment method, and if you love that thick heavy long island accent accompanied by a do nothing attitude in their service department then this is the company for you. Prices are through the roof for oil, they had to come back 3 times after they did my boiler, and when I told them I was shopping around or could you work with me on the price they could have cared less.
Issue 1: I don’t understand why it is so difficult to get a customer representative on the phone.There is an emergency service that needs attention, but after 25min I (still) have yet to speak to a representativeIssue 2: there was an issue with my VA so I could not get a full-up. I made an appointment to get it fixed. Done.I never got a fill up afterwards. At less than 1/8 of a tank, I called to see what’s up-they informed me that on their system, I had 3/4 tank. The rep had the audacity to argue and say that I could not get a fill-up for several daysBecause of that issue, my house has not been able to get warm water or heat. And now, pretty certain that the pipes are frozen and I’m unable to get warm water
During the cold month of February and our boiler acting up,we called to have a technician come look at it. We were told someone would be there between 3pm - 9pm. Well it was much earlier than 9 when tech Brian showed up. Brian was polite,professional and everything you would want as an employer. Brian got our boiler up and running and we continue to be strong supporters of Meenan. Thank You Brian!!!
STAY AWAY FROM MEENAN!!! They are the worst! Still waiting 4 weeks for a refund that Donna from insulation never processed (according to Roxanne from cust. service) . Had to keep calling and now Im told i have to wait another 2 weeks for $1598.00 refund. They told me they have two computer systems and only one is helpful. Why is that my problem and why is that their excuse. 0 stars from me. You have been warned!
The worse experience ever. As first home buyers, we were excited to sign up. They promised to deliver an emergency drop of 10 gallons before a cold week-end (below 30 F) because the tank was completely empty. The inspector came and said hed rather a family with women and a minor to freeze than to possibly get the company sued. Because our tank wasnt safe. We never received any oil and still got billed home. If we were weak people, we would have rushed and buy a new tank for NO REASON! The next company that came were more than happy to have a contract with us. They said that our tank was FINE and better than most tanks theyve seen.I never want to deal with these people again.
The only reason i am giving this company 2 stars is because they kept my oil tank full. High-pressure sales company, only care about making more money off of you. Contract terms are beyond me. Had an emergency no heat/hot water and had to switch to heat pump. Now i am being charged $400.00 for them not being able to sell me more oil. No personal touch, just out for your money in every aspect of their company. i should have read the reviews on them.
I am a new customer for meenan, almost a year, live in east meadow, i so far do not have any major issue but i have asked many times that i want to see oneday how their system works when they deliver oil but so far i never had their schedule of drop, almost feel like something is not adding up. however i would recommend that since the oil price going down everyday, Meenan should lower their price also.
After instructing to not deliver oil they actually did. This is after they told me that I was on hold and I wouldnt get any oil. I told them to not deliveranything but they went ahead and did! The woman on the other hand said, well I dont have any note of that and WE CANT JUST TAKE THE OIL OUT ok. Which part is it?, am I on hold or my instruction to not deliver not clear enough? Ugh
My family has been a Loyal Customer to Meenan Oil for years. I have never had anything bad to say about them, until now. Today we have run out of heating Oil. You may ask why this is the case? Well when we called the office Meenan disclosed that the driver did not have a clear path to provide oil to our home. The only issue is the company never told us about this problem. The company instead made us wait till the coldest night of the year to run out of heat. Furthermore, Oil was delivered by another oil company across the street in the same conditions, road and type of house. The resolution Meenan proposes? waiting 5 hours to get an emergency supply of gas without ANY time frame for when we are to receive oil. This is unacceptable behavior by any company, DO NOT use Meenan oil.
Brian was very professional and nice. He checked the attic trying to find evidence of water drops creating the dripping sound in one of the bedroom’s air flow window. He also checked the basement HVAC system for any unusual situation. All the pipes did not show any leaks. Finally, we decided to wait and see what might happen later. I changed three air filters, and I will try to read and learn more about Heating system, HVAC, and water pipes how they all work together in the house.
Semi emergency ... water leaking out boiler back pipe, because (I suspected) expansion tank was shot, and pressure 30-35 instead of 20called at like 8pm ish, promised by midnight .. there 11:30. was surprised when they scheduled for that night - thought it would be next daycouldnt have asked for better service, svc guy Bob super friendly
Horrible company. The customer service is the worse and very unfriendly and only want to take your money. I had 1 week until my contract ended and had just under a half tank of oil. Told them I dont need anymore oil at the high locked in rate. They said I needed a last fill up or id be charged a cancellation fee of 700 bucks for refusing oil. A company like this doesnt deserve to stay in bisiness.
Be Weary of Ceiling Price Plan. This plan is supposed to fluctuate with the market with a max price. I signed up for a price ceiling plan the past 2 years. Last year the price fluctuated with the market, but this year they price gouged me. My ceiling was set for $2.79/gal. On my last oil fill up, they charged me $2.76/gal. This is despite the fact that oil is the cheapest it has been in 15 years. COD companies were charging less than $2/gal and New York State listed the average price at about $2.40 per gallon for the day that my delivery was made. Other contract based companies were charging around $2/gal. Slomins was charging $1.79. I called and complained and they offered me a coupon book for local restaurants (Thanks, but no thanks). Last year when the price of oil was higher, they charged me 20 cents less a gallon even though my ceiling ceiling price was higher. On my second call to the company, the rep told me that it was a warm winter, so they had to charge us more.Although the service has been good in the past, I really felt like they took advantage of me. I will be shopping around next year.

Oh Yeah his wait time was about 45 seconds to put on my sons Heavy Coat for the 33 degree Temperature.And the Nasty look as he drove away was inspiring to get. And not pass on.Have a Great day
We have NO HEAT AND NO HOT WATER. We were told we would have an emergency delivery shortly and then when no one showed up we called again and they told us that we would have to wait and that they werent going to come now! I have a sick old lady who lives here. What kind of company does this. I have read the other reviews. Almost every review is like this. Were dumping this company in the morning.
Zero Stars. Called them 3 days in a row for oil delivery - oil tank down to almost empty - BUSY SIGNAL ALL DAY AND NIGHT. What if this were an emergency? No Heat? Frozen pipes? Its been in the single digits last few days. Will look for new oil company when contract is up..
We have been with Meenan for 3 years and weve suffered through their inability to keep appointments, their overpriced but reliable service, but as of today I have officially had it with them. Market rate is $1.38/barrel today and what did they charge for delivery two days ago - for which their was no receipt or record btw - a whopping $3.31. Their excuse? Your contract for last year has a cap of $3.79. Well that may be, but they are supposed to charge MARKET RATE. And they dont. They are liars and extortionists. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THEM. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!
I spoke to someone last year may about renewing my contract, but I guess it wasnt renewed, but they sure did renew service without contact almost 300 for one year! now my point to the comment I work in a commercial business with out contract and oil is usually more expensive than my home oil, understandable we order 200 gallons at $269 per total $538 from a different company affordable fuel pay as you go. Now I get home and find a bill for 195gallon at $399 per gallon 778.05! BIG DIFFERENCE! BY THE WAY I DIDNT ORDER IT!!Now the question how long was I getting OVER CHARGED??FEELING CHEATED!! So I go to both my neighbors to ask about there oil situation.one in contract $237 per gallon, other no contact pay as go $243 per gallon!! SO HELP ME UNDERSTAND $3.99 PER GALLON FOR DELIVERIES I HAVENT ORDERED , BUT ITS AUTOMATIC NO CONTRACT IS INSANE!!IVE BEEN WITH THEM OVER 5 YEARS AND FEEL LIKE IVE BEEN MUGGED OR HELD UP!! PLEASE BRING UNDERSTANDING TO THIS SITUATION!! AFTER CALLING I WAS OFFERED A 100 OFF IF I RENEW CONTRACT ONLY !!AFTER I WAS JUST OVER CHARGED ALMOST 250!! Worse place ever. They charge a thru the roof price for oil and sell you on a oil contract only to find out nothing is ever covered they say free till they get to your house then it starts turning in to a huge deal. DO NOT SIGN A SERVICE CONTRACT HERE. Then to top it off they have the worse customer service
I over paid last month because i forgot i was in auto pay and paid my bill. I just got a letter 2 days ago saying i didnt owe this month because of that over payment but they took the money from my account anyway. Did you think i wouldnt notice ?? UPDATE... this will be the last year I have meenan. They talked my mom into a cap of .85 more a gallon. Shes been with them for over 40 years and all they do is take advantage of the eldly.SHAME ON YOU MEENAN.
Just like all companies, there are bound to be issues that may arise from time to time, but the route in which they choose to resolve these issues is a testament to the kind of company they are; there are projectors that might project the issues onto external factors and there are advocators that truly own the issue and are sincere about resolving the issue and treating the customer with respect. thanks to Dave at meenan for resolving an issue for me and really showing a sense of ownership.
The customer service this company gives its customers is fantastic the deliveries of oil are always there before you even call automatic delivery system works great and the service end of the company is amazing prompt complete and correct thank you for the excellent experience .from John Messina
This is the worst Oil Company on Long Island we are on automatic delivery they forgot to deliver the oil took several phone calls to even get there attention, ended up with frozen pipes, on my last call there customer service rep Miguel hung up on us. STAY AWAY from MEENAN OIL

2022-01-22We purchased our first home last year and signed up for a service contract. Since signing up, they have been to our home numerous times for service. They are always very responsive, the technicians are professional, and they always resolve the issues with our older boiler. I highly recommend Meenan! Thank you for being so reliable!

2022-02-01I usually never write reviews. This company was very inconsiderate. I lost my dad a few months ago and never really dealt with paying the oil bill other utility bills. Didn’t realize the contract with them ended in December. Meenan never informed us and sent us two deliveries with the rate of $4.02 and $4.59. When speaking to them they did not consider us being a loyal customer to them and gave us a rate of $4.00 to lock in while competitors were offering rates way below that. I really wanted to stay with them because we didn’t have issues, however I’ve lost respect for them and they lost a loyal customer. Please make sure to shop around before signing a contract with them.

2022-05-28Update:. Meenan called me today (next day) to reschedule service to this coming Tuesday. I appreciate the quick response and moving the appointment up to this coming Tuesday.Original Post (1 star): Im a new customer to Meenan with a service contract. They were supposed to come today for the afternoon time slot for an AC tune up. This service has been scheduled for 3 months and my wife and I have arranged all our travel plans around this. They just called and cancelled claiming they had too many emergency calls. They then offered a July 9 time slot. 1.5 months later when half the summer is over is unacceptable service. Waiting until 4:00pm to communicate with me about cancelling is also unacceptable service. After pushing, I was able to get June 9, but am very unhappy with this service right now.

2022-02-08I usually don’t review companies but I had the absolute worst experience ever and really needed to share.My husband and I were first time home owners and recently had a newborn when we realized our oil heat wasn’t working. We had a service contract with meenan and was informed it was unable to be fixed so we were referred to their sales department who sold us 5 mini splits for Heat and AC. We spent almost $17,000 on these units and we still were unable to get warm!!The units were actually blowing freezing cold air out while on heat mode. When we informed Michael McBride who sold us the units that they were not working he told us that the units were not supposed to be working in cold weather or in the snow although we were previously told they would work up to -5. I kept asking why he sold us these as heating units If they wouldn’t be working in the cold. He was extremely dismissive to all of our concerns/ issues. We had many many phone calls escalating to Supervisers and they finally sent back out the installers. At that point we found out they hired a third party contractor to install our units and it appeared Meenan did not want to send their own service people and only wanted us to deal with this third party contractor they used for our job. We kept saying that we hired them not this other company etc.At one point this third party contractor came back to troubleshoot what was going on and when we asked him how he was doing he said he had a slight cold and was feeling under the weather. This was in the HEIGHT of Covid (omicron) so I asked him not to come inside (we had a newborn) and called Meenans main line. They informed us no one else would come and we had to use this one guy. This guy wasn’t even able to fix the problems and weeks went by with more and more calls and frustrations.Eventually I was put in contact with a supervisor David Cooperman and meenan sent their own service staff to look at the problem. They determined it was a issue with the unit not the installation and they needed Fujitsu to come out and evaluate the problem. About 2 weeks later (and lots of sleepless nights due to the cold) Fujitsu came out and confirmed the unit was broken and needed to be replaced. Meenan then wanted us to wait for them to process the warranty before replacing the unit which they had no timeline for and said it could take MONTHS!! After several more calls to supervisors they agreed to replace the units and they now work.It had been 7.5 weeks from the date of installation until the broken unit was replaced. I asked for money back and they acted like they did everything right and didn’t understand where I was coming from. At no point during this entire process did they say sorry. The entire process they made us feel like we were being difficult and picky. Needless to say this is still ongoing. 🤯😩. We are very disappointed. We chose a large company like meenan to stand behind their installation and do the right thing. If they installed a broken unit they should have come out the very next day to replace it. The process should not have taken 7.5 weeks of frustration.

2022-02-19Last night had boiler problem at 8:30pm. By 11:00 Brian was at our door and by midnight, all fixed!!I even got a lesson in the mechanics of the system.He was great and meenan is great.

2022-03-29My boiler went out at 4pm for no heat , i called back at 8 pm for an update and was told that I was next to be serviced, 2 hrs later I called again just to be told that I have 2 other call ahead of me now. This company is so unorganized its ridiculous. I have kids in the house and its 25 degrees outside. Im sure other ppl have the same issue as me but a company that cant give you a straight answer when you call or dont have a supervisor to speak with when you call at any hour is totally unprofessional. This is not the first time this happened, will switch company once my contact is over.
