Always a pleasure dealing with Mel Carr. Lisa was awesome and incredibly responsive setting me up with an appointment via email, and a week later during the appointment? A phone call (and text, and email!) when were on the way. Keith arrived when he said he would, and an hour later had quoted me for the work, completed it, and cleaned up. All of us are sensitive to price and Im very sure I can call around and get a better price, but when its this easy to work with them? Well worth it.
Carlos and Dan did an amazing job with installing two new light fixtures on the outside of our building. They were professional and so nice to work with. Will definitely be using Mel Carr Electric again and would ask for Carlos and/or Dan to be available.
Called to diagnosis and provide an estimate to correct problem which centered on the electrical panel. Took my inputs until the issue had been identified enough to recommend remedies of different levels and costs. Zach (and apprentice Carlos) was pleasant, knowledgeable, respectful, mask wearing... all that one would want in professional entering ones home.
I would like to thank Zach and the team from Mel Carr for their outstanding service, knowledge and professionalism. The recent storm caused major water damage to my electrical system from the weather head down to my electrical panel. It was an emergency job and Zach and the guys did an amazing job getting everything replaced to make it safe so my power could be restored. Thank you, so much.
Keith and Carlos replaced the weatherhead and entire service connection to the utility transformer. They upgraded us to 200amp service, replaced the old breaker panel and added grounding needed for code.They were both super friendly, polite and professional and clearly knowledgeable and skilled. They did great work and cleaned up thoroughly.Id highly recommend Mel Carr Electric.

Ten years ago Mel Carr upgraded wiring to my second floor. This time it was upgrading of first floor to accommodate heating and cooling systems. Response time was rapid - one week after estimate, all work concluded in one day. And Zach and his assistant were impeccably clean and neat. I coveted his battery powered vacuum cleaner which removed all signs of construction rapidly.
Your electrician, Keith, came on time with another electrician (Brock) as an understudy. They were polite and professional. The job was to finish wiring a basement bathroom from the breaker box to the room. I also added a couple small things (installing a receptacle for the waste pump and two light fixtures) to the original scope of work, which they did gladly and properly added to the bill. With their work the room is now up to code, and my wife and I are very appreciative for their expert work in a timely manner.
Gary did a super job. He arrived early, assessed the problem and solved it quickly and professionally. He worked neatly and explained everything he was doing. Highly recommend him to others and will certainly use Mel Carr Electric in the future.
Dan and Brock were on time, extremely professional, friendly, explained everything well, werent pushy on sales, and I would have them back in a heartbeat. They came to install a new outlet for a 240V AC unit. Everything looked perfect when they finished and they did a great job.
Dan was very professional and informative about the work and what to expect. He gave us a quote for the work as well as pricing options. I have only gotten a quote and not done the work just yet but will in the future. The company was able to get Dan out here the very next day to help with our problem.
Smart and professional electrician came, Dan Amodeo. Mel Electric is such a 10 out of 10, from their supervisors, admin services to their techs. We had an electrical fire, and needed help quickly. They took care of everything and recorded it all for me. I am very grateful to have found them and will only use them in the future!

We just had an initial evaluation and estimate for the work that needs to be done. Jimmy was professional and told us all about what the work entailed, how long it will take, and the cost. We will be getting an upgraded electrical system which is long overdue in our 47 year old house.
I am in the process 9f renovating a property. Ive had many electricians come out and give me quotes. Dan took the time and explained the pro essay. He was professional friendly and knowledgeable.
I had a tree come down just after Easter 2022 and it completely removed the electric meter from my home. Gary Chafetz was able to make it out before National Grid completed work on the service restoration. This allowed for all the information he needed, to be collected by himself and directly from National Grid workers. Gary was able to get the ok to reinstall the existing meter that Grid workers were about to remove from property, which allowed for my electrical service to be re-established just hours after my neighbors was, even thou we had much more extensive damage to the service line in comparison. All penitrations were fully and professionally sealed and the weather head was securely attached to my house. The install ended up addressing a few concerns I had ever since moving into the home 2 years prior (after seeing this work I am certain power is securely connected to house now). Gary was also super helpful and happy to discuss a few other electrical concerns I had with regards to adding more outlets in the basement and eventually adding a generator lockout switch to panel box. Somewhat unexpected that while attending to storm aftermath we find our go to electrician, however Gary really was so amazing that I dont plan on ever using anyone else for my electrical needs. As probably one of the most important points its worth mentioning that the job pricing and even insurance claim advice were both spot on. I did, out of curiosity, search some competitive pricing for the same services conducted and Mel Carr was at or below averages. Gary also provided us with options for repairs / improvements with the low end (just to get power restored) to the high end (worry free for many years). Although I decided at the time to just get power restored, Gary provided a detailed breakdown of what the additional items were in the worry free for years repair and why these things could be but did not need to be replaced just yet. Gary also made sure my wife was on the same page with all discussions we had and offered to show each items to her if she wanted to ensuring we were able to make the most informed decision together, this was appreciated greatly by both my wife and I. Because of the honesty, competitive pricing, willingness to answer all questions, putting my mind at ease and providing the full picture of the current state of my homes electrical systems. I would recommend Mel Carr but I would highly recommend Gary Chafetz as your electrician for all residential needs.
Electricity to above ground pool repaired and conduit replaced. A bit of sticker shock here. But Zach explained all well. He was polite and efficient and got us back in working order quickly.

Dan did a great job with a very difficult situation. He even took components back that were defective and then completed the job. It turned out to be alot more complex than originally assumed but he stuck to the job and got it done.

I cant say enough good things about Mel Carr Electric. This is the second time they have done work at my house. The moved, repaired and replaced outlets. The work required them to be in a very cramped crawlspace and attic. They did so with no complaints. Had Dylan here today to help me try to locate a buzzing that I have been hearing. He checked attic to basement, then turning off breakers to try and isolate where it was coming from. In the mean time he could not hear the buzzing so as he throw breakers Ii listened. I could clearly hear the buzzing EVEN when all the electricity was shut off. I think my next call is to an ear doctor. Thanks Dylan.

I have now used this company twice in the last couple of years for various task and have been completely satisfied both times. They sent Gary again today for another request of mine and just like the last time he did a wonderful job. He was in and out , kept the area clean during the work and afterwards. Most importantly, politely explained everything involved with the process. We contacted Mel Carr Electrical to do a service call on a home we recently moved into. We had some concerns and wanted to know if they were major issues. Gary came to the house at the scheduled time and was very helpful. He was thorough and informative and let us know what needed to be done and all of our options. There are certainly things we can do ourselves but when we need to use a professional electrician, we will not hesitate to use them.
Very knowledgeable, professional and respectful young men: Didn’t make fun of us for having a simple fix as we were using the wrong light bulbs! (But there are so many choices!). Instructed us on what to use. Informed us on price to replace the dimmer switch in the future.

Our underground service went, and I called four service providers. Mel Carr responded right away, and their entire service process is the best Ive ever experienced! I was notified of the upcoming visit for the initial review, and they sent an eMail and Text along with a picture of the technician that would be coming and when. The technician called to let me know he was on his way. He was extremely professional, answered all our questions, and worked with us on an installation date. This same notification process was done for the day they came to do the work, and the next day to turn on the service. This company understands the meaning of Customer Service, and it is exemplified by their staff. If I could rate them above a 5 star, it would be double!
Keith and an associate were very professional and thorough as well as personable. The messaging system kept me informed and made me feel like I knew what to expect. Also, whenever I called the office with questions or to make an appointment, everyone on the other end was helpful, courteous and pleasant. Not only is the work & materials quality but the way they run things.
I contacted Mel Carr to have a couple of issues addressed (fix dryer outlet and a circuit that was tripping) and some new outlets in my basement. They were kind and responsive on the phone and got me set up with an appointment. Connor came out and fixed the dryer outlet quickly and was professional and informative. I set up another appointment to have the tripping circuit diagnosed and basement outlets added. Connor and Dylan came out to do that work, and they did an excellent job! Although pricing is on the higher end, their responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work is worth it to me.

Mel Carr Electric got me in quickly for a really time-sensitive repair we needed. The guys were super professional, and did everything way faster than I expected it to take. Arrived exactly when they were scheduled to and were done in an hour. My only regret is not hiring them sooner to do work, now that Im moving out of the area. Very satisfied with this business and their employees. We have had several upgrades and replacements over 3 visits to get everything we wanted done. Dan was able to identify the problem with the wiring in our outdoor lampposts that were installed by another electrician we had found with an app. Dan fixed the wiring so the lamps are working now. We will start with Mel Carr next time we need an electrician.

Efficient, neat, prompt and friendly service. I have no basis for comparing costs so I did not rate on Good value. Technician went several extra steps in checking things out, and spent time explaining how they would approach a couple of future projects we had in mind and gave rough cost estimates. Altogether another excellent experience with the company.Keith came by for the third tme (to install a new chandelier this time) and did his usual fine job, showing attention to detail for us as well as effiefficient and neat work. Mel Carr Electric provided immediate services on a number of occasions and acted with the utmost adherence to professional standards. Wiring for a new dishwasher was not working. For 30 years, our dishwasher was on the same circuit as other outlets. Sean brought everything up to Code. He was thorough, professional and cleaned the area surrounding the repair..

Its an annual service provided by Mel Carr Electric and one which I really appreciate. Keith, Connor and all the staff that Ive interacted with (Rachel and Lisa in the office) are excellent. Love being their customer. I expect that all the electricians are skilled, but I requested Keith because hes the one I know I am comfortable with. Hes as considerate and kind as he is talented.
Keith gave us our quote and explained everything in detail. Once we agreed to the price and to have them do the work, we were scheduled for the following week. They arrived on time today, replaced 6 recessed kitchen lights, about 20 outlets (from 2 prong to 3) and put in a GFI that was needed. Very friendly and they did great work. So relieved finally to have the outlets all updated!! We will have Mel Carr Electric come back for any future jobs and we highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done.
Mel Carr Electric is one of the most professional companies Ive ever dealt with. I have had them do multiple projects that have all come out better than expected. Their communication was amazing, from the time I booked the appointment, to their arrival to the after service survey, I was kept informed throughout the whole process. I had Mel Carr Electric come to wire my shed for electricity. They sent Connor. He was very professional and extremely friendly. The work done looked amazing. I received a quote from another company and it was over 50% higher than Mel Carr. I dont usually leave reviews, but Connor definitely deserves some props.

We installed two lights with motion sense activation last fall and enrolled in the silver plan. We just had our comprehensive home safety inspection which was included free as part of the program purchase enrollment. Zach M. was our tech. He did a phenomenal job answering all questions and providing key ares of concern with which to improve our home safety and value. He answered all our questions and was not pushy about sales. We were quoted for three big ticket items and were pleasantly surprised at the affordability and pricing fairness. The secret with a good deal with Mel Carr is to roll all your project into one because their volume pricing is amazing.

Great customer service, but outrageous price compared to the other quotes Ive gotten for the same work. They came in at $3,600 where the other quotes came in at $1500.They might be great, but check other places before you fork over that amount of money. Great CS isnt worth an additional $2100.
Dan and his assistant Jimmy were super friendly and very efficient. We had 2 ceiling lights installed, new wall switches installed, and a new updated bathroom fan installed in our master bath. They asked any questions before doing certain things and paid attention to detail. We would recommend Mel Carr Electric to everyone. Great service from start to finish!
We have a new clothes dryer and the breaker must have tripped when the old dryer crashed. After buying a dryer and realizing the outlet was fried I called and scheduled an appointment. Due to volume the appointment was two weeks out! However the next day they called to tell me there was a cancellation and they could be here in 30 minutes. Keith came, found the problem, fixed it and I was back at work in time for a video call. First time we needed electrician but won’t be the last time we call Mel Carr for service.

Mel Carr Electric was great -- they gave estimate & completed work within a week of my call. Very professional , and laid out options for each project we had. Even though he ended up being short-handed, Dave (the electrician) was on time and completed the work quickly. I also appreciated that he was very conscious of his impact (noise, etc) as my wife and I both work out of the house.
Had an emergency where water got into the breaker panel box and shorted out everything and it started arcing. Called Mel Carr Electric and they came super fast to shut off power and make my home safe. I wound up needing a lot of repair work done and they came the next day and fixed it all. They treated me like family and put my needs first. They did a excellent job and I couldnt be happier. I will definitely be using them in the future with any of my electrical needs.

Had burnt shorted wiring all behind sheet rock. Dan and Jim did an excellent job of running new wire through my house without having to cut into the sheet rock walls. Dan started at one end and Jim at the other. Both Dan and Jim did an excellent job and had it all done in a day which I thought with the amount of work ahead of them it would have been 2 days. I like that they explained to me what they were doing through out the day. Would definitely have these two back for any future work needed

Mel Carr has been fantastic. We had an issue with our fire alarms and they came out and fixed everything within a couple hours. Dave Barcher was the tech and he was excellent. Then one of the replaced units died less than a year later and they came out and replaced it free of charge (again within hours of a call). Then they came back after a recall was issued (which they kindly notified us about) and replaced every single fire alarm again without charge. Their team is professional, on time, knowledgeable, and courteous. Their work is great. My wife has been home with our children/dogs each time and was never made to feel uncomfortable in her own home. Thanks for everything!
Had a wiring problem in my house. Mel Carr Electric got a technician to me quickly. The electricians were professional, quick and left the workspace clean. The service charge was very reasonable. Highly recommend these folks. Theyre going into my book as our new electrician!
They came to figure out why my Ring doorbell was constantly off line and determined I needed updated transformer. Installed one and also noted a few things in basement were not wired properly and fixed at no extra charge- fixed an outlet that stopped working- no extra charge - stayed to ensure doorbell in house working and discovered wiring incorrect and fixed - no extra charge. Ill call them again in heartbeat for any electrical service.

Keith and his assistant Dylan repaired our 220 line outlet for our clothes dryer. In repairing they moved the line to wall where there is no moisture. Keith and Dylan also replaced an outlet box. The men were very professional, worked quickly and neatly, and explained what they were doing. Mel Carr Electric is an excellent company to work with. I would also like to throw in a thank you to the company’s phone contact Allie who scheduled our appointment. She is excellent too.
Was able to easily schedule an appointment. Technicians arrived on time (and called ahead) and were knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. We didnt know exactly what the source of some flickering and nonfunctioning lights were, and they were able to diagnose the most likely causes (loose wiring in the panel and some overloaded circuits) and address them quickly. Didnt try to up-sell us on anything. Might be a little on the high end in terms of price, but not unreasonable and I feel we got our moneys worth.

Installed a 240V outlet and some 120V outlets in our garage and upgraded our panel and wire leading into the house. Solid workmanship. They sent out the electrician (Dan) who would be doing the work to look at give us a detailed quote. He answered all of our questions and explained their work plan up front. The power went out in my garage, and one side of the den that’s connected to it. I tried to problem solve myself to no avail. I’m a Veteran, and pretty new to the area...so I took a chance and called the number on the sticker of this company that was on my fuse box. Lisa from the office was very friendly, and immediately set up my appt, and then when I found out I had the day off from work—was able to change my appt to an earlier one to accommodate me—thanks! At the scheduled appt....Electrician Dan Amodeo came out. He was professional, friendly, efficient, explained what he was doing as he was checking, and answered all my questions. A really good guy! The electrician came out to give an estimate for a good deal of work. Right on time and very professional. They sent an email reminded the day before and a follow up email the morning of telling me who my serviceman would be and a picture of him. When he (Gary) got here he was extremely courteous and professional. He was patient and clearly knew his subject matter, After a tour of the house, he went back to his truck and 15 minutes later provided a variety of estimates. An absolute pleasure to deal with. The electric connection to the house was pulled off after a tree fell during a storm. The power company had restored a temporary connection, but we needed get a permanent connection. After no reply from another company, we called Mel Carr Electric. They had a cancellation the very next day that they slotted us into. Dan Amodeo troubleshot a challenging dual light fixture installation and reassignment of source power to two formerly switched duplex outlets for us, along with apprentice Carlos. The two of them came up with the perfect solution for our application and did the installation the same day. The room, trim and walls were only minimally disturbed and will require only a bit of touch-up paint to remedy, thanks to Dan’s creativity and Carlos’ support. Dan’s experience has proven to be invaluable to us and no doubt, Mel Carr. My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the end result- thrilled is more like it. We will continue to request Dan and Mel Carr in the future.
This company is great! We spontaneously had the electricity in one room of our house go out and couldn’t figure out the cause. None of the fuses in our circuit breaker appeared to have been blown so, following an attempt to flip all of them and do some Google research, we gave in and called Mel Carr. They immediately impressed me with their professionalism. The operator took all my info and told me he could dispatch someone immediately and that I should expect a call from the electrician once dispatched. Within minutes, Jason called me and with equal professionalism confirmed the details and my address and gave me an ETA of 20 minutes. When he arrived he was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in addressing the problem. He even wore plastic covers over his work boots to keep from tracking snow into our house. The problem turned out to be some loose wiring which he quickly and easily fixed for us. The price was fair and Jason was even able to draw up a quick quote for me for upgrading our circuit breaker (something that my husband and I were already discussing). I was emailed my quote and my receipt which was a nice feature for their computer program. When I called Mel Carr I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can honestly say it was an excellent customer service experience! Don’t hesitate to call them yourself!
My outside hookup was corroded and no longer compliant with current codes. I called Mel Car Electric to get a quote. To utter surprise the call went through and not to voice mail. There was a person on the other end of the line. Can you believe that? The person on the other end was cordial and set me up with an appointment for the following Monday. Before Monday came I got an email with a bio-pic of the person who would be writing my estimate. The quote was very reasonable and he called to set up a date for the work. There was an opening the following Tuesday so I agreed. That Tuesday he called and showed up on time! I’ve worked around contractors all my life. That is nothing short of astounding! From the initial conversation with Allie to arrange an appointment through to the face to face encounter with Keith and Jimmy, I was impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, respect and concern. My initial call was for a non-working light switch outlet. Issue was quickly identified and rectified. Upon inspection of circuit breaker box, mis-placement of amp boxes and improper wiring was identified. Keith repaired the issues which could have endangered our safety. This was a good professional company but it is expensive. A section of my house was not lighting up. It was problem of a reset switch, which they managed to reset. Also, they replaced an outlet and that was it.I was charged $269 dollars for this job which i think is on the higher side. But I recommend this company for professional job or a major overhaul not for day to day minor stuff. Hope this would help people.

We’d been without power for nearly 48 hours before National Grid finally got here. Then we learned that our meter panel box needed to be replaced and could only be done by an electrician. Since thousands of homeowners in our area needed an electrician as a result of the storm that coursed our outage, we were in danger of not being able to get anyone to help us before the weekend. They accommodated our emergency need even though we weren’t an existing customer, managed to connect with the city inspector, and got our power restored by dark. All done in a professional manner and the work was well done.

He was faced with a daunting challenge of replacing an old circuit breaker panel that was in a very difficult location to access. Instead of rushing into it, he discussed with me different options. When we agreed upon an option, he carefully and meticulously did the work. I was very impressed with how professional he was. He also installed a new vent fan in the bathroom that didnt have one and did a fine job with that too. Gary and Carlos were awesome at diagnosing the non working underground cable to our outside yard lamp. Better yet was their suggestion of alternatives & cost for repairing the cable to the light. Using their Ditch Witch tool for a new trench across the yard and putting in a new cable with connection was the best fix at a reasonable price. A big thank you for their hard work on a particularly hot humid day.

About a year ago, I called Mel Carr Electric in Albany, New York because a outside wire coming from my garage was smoking probably due to the worn insulation. I called the well known and well advertised electric company I had used in the past on many occasions. But when they never called me after their first assessment, I decided I had to deal with a company that was interested in my safety as well making money.I called Mel Carr Electric having seen their well kept trucks and their rational drivers on the road.They gave mean appointment soon after. Jason fixed the situation temporarily and gave me an estimateFor completion of the work.Due to health reasons and surgery, I did not call back for about six months. At that time, Rob (the owner) let me know that the initial estimate would increase after a date that was soon approaching. Connor and Dylan did a great job. They were on time, asked if I wanted them to wear a mask indoors, and left the room cleaner than when they started. Not only that, during the course of their investigation tracing wires to fix the problem I called them for, they came across a dangerous condition with a 45 year old wire in my basement. They explained the situation to me, what they needed to do to fix, and replaced the wire for me. After that they checked the rest of the older wiring in the basement to make sure everything was safe and secure. I will sleep better tonight. Could not recommend these guys more.

Zach and Mel Carr were prompt, capable, and respectful. Getting a contractor to show up is usually a miracle. This group caused none of the headaches contractors usually do, and they fixed everything as they said they would. They arent cheap, however. Thats your tradeoff. Pay for a professional, or pay in time and energy chasing down a neighborhood fixit person.

My techs name was Jason and he was great. He ran the quote for me about a week earlier. Super friendly, knew his business, understood my job and offered advice and tips, which I gladly accepted. I needed to have the main service meter box replaced. As this was a semi emergency, the work had to be done quickly. Dave and Zach came to the house to provide an estimate of what needed to be done. I approved the estimate and they started the work. Within a couple of hours, they had completed the work. Excellent workmanship and extremely pleasant to deal with. Dan Amodio and his two apprentices Jimmy and Connor did excellent work. My elderly mom was having difficulty with her home electric. The lights kept blinking and the TV would go off and on. National Grid told her she immediately needed to have the service to her house replaced. I called two companies. Mel Carr Electric responded within several hours and explained what needed to be done and what the cost would be. They came the next day and did the job. They completed the job in about 4 hours. All 3 employees were extremely courteous, professional and competent. They even wore plastic booties over their shoes whenever they entered the house since the grounds outside were wet and muddy. I would highly recommend these workers and this company to anyone who needs residential electrical work done.

I felt that enough time was given to each step of numerous steps to bring our home up to code. Great care and good communications as the Mel Carr team worked through each room.. I would recommend Mel Carr Electric to anyone interested in hiring professional electricians to fix any electrical problems.
Jeremy was very capable & professional. Much appreciated. What made us uncomfortable was that Jeremy’s supervisor called him twice to give him a hard time about his time on task. We spent $1500 for a new exhaust fan to be installed; as a customer we don’t want the boss calling to say “hurry up.” We could hear his boss via cellphone. Not happy to have Jeremy interrupted & take his time away from our job.
I have used Mel Carr Electric three times and each experience has been exceptional. Today, I had Dan replace two flush mount light fixtures in my mudroom. They had diagnosed the problem over the phone explaining that I needed to purchase new light fixtures before they came. This saved me having to pay for them to come to my house twice. Dan did a great job and took his time, explaining everything as he went. He was punctual, arriving when he said he would. He completed the job in a quickly, and the price was reasonable.I have also used Jason two times and he was also great to work with. He diagnosed an electrical problem with my cooktop, and replaced a ceiling fan with a flush mount light fixture. He was very professional and easy to work with. I thought that the price he charged was reasonable in both instances.I would highly recommend Mel Carr and will continue to use them for all my electrical needs.
I have used Mel Carr Electric several times now, and they are invariably exceptionally pleasant and easy to work with, starting with the scheduler (Nick) , who is always cheerful and flexible. Dave B. has done a fantastic job each time hes come, and has taken the time to clearly answer all my questions. Hes a totally can do guy, efficient, neat, and friendly. And the prices are perfectly reasonable. Great company!
A tree took my power line down, Mel Carr Electric responded quickly. Dan the electrician was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done. I was impressed at the quality of his work, knowledge, experience, and professionalism. I will be using this company in the near future.
Installed 3 replacement ceiling light/fans. Replaced bathroom outlet w/ new GFI. Professional as always. Customer about 35yrs. Wore booties so he doesnt track, swept up after himself, and took old fixtures to dispose. Very courteous, respectful. Im going to have him come back next month to do more replacement light/fans & outlets.
I watched the work performed with confidence and he answered every question I ask of him. He fixed my stupid mistake. When it comes to electricity, please leave it to the pros like Gary. Thank you
Dan and Carlos did a great job repairing my electrical panel and installing an exhaust fan in my basement on Wednesday, July 14th. Water from heavy rain had leaked into the panel, and new wiring had to be installed from outside and into the basement. As soon as the exhaust fan was installed, the smell from my fuel tank and furnace was negligible. 🤗🤗🤗 Dan and Carlos put in a long day at my house and they were very professional and good natured about it.
Gary and Connor were prompt, polite, efficient, and did a completely professional job. Ive had two separate jobs done by Mel Carr over the years, and Ive been thoroughly satisfied both times. First, Dave B. came by and fixed faulty wiring from a previous owner of the house, getting my lights and outlets back up and running. Most recently, Gary C. fixed the wiring and outlet situation in the kitchen so it was up to code for installing my new dishwasher. Both times they were in and out in under 2 hours, and at reasonable prices. Mel Carr Electric will continue to be my go-to electrician going forward.
Not sure where to begin -- Suffice to say - this is the only electrical contractor/electricians i will ever use in the Capital District. I will start with Rob. Knowledgeable - listens - understands his clients/customers needs - doesnt impose but gives thoughtful advice when he thinks his client is asking for too much/not the right etc etc. - always available and timely and a sheer pleasure to do business with.Dave - solid as a rock - really knows what has to be done to achieve the outcome the customer wants and is an electrician extraordinaire.. Also a truly lovely human being...a pleasure to do business with as well.I experienced a massive loss in my home this winter and needed a lot of work done...and done around the schedules of many other contractors - Carr never complained, always made themselves available - got the job done...and beautifully. They are also very cutting edge with the latest lighting options..Most importantly, the team at Carr Electric always gets to yes...never a cant be done response...Love this company!!

2022-02-09This is a reputable company with a solid reputation. I like their business model. Mel Carrs approach to problem solving and customer service is appreciated. Replacing a panel and restoring power is a tedious and complicated job. The team of Zach and Carlos worked tirelessly until the job was finished at 8PM to make sure power to the furnace was restored for a very frigid February evening. Its been a while since Ive been very confident in a home repair contractor. Good job! Two thumbs up for sure!

2022-02-19The technician/electrician, Keith, performed a safety inspection at my home. He was courteous, professional and thorough. He pointed out items that needed attention and entertained and answered my questions regarding his findings. He also provided an itemized list of said items and provided options that I could be comfortable with in having concerns addressed. I will continue to use Mel Carr in the future. Their operation runs smoothly and has built-in checks and balances. They arrive when they say they will and always call ahead. They perform the work as specified and approved and its guaranteed. Peace of mind is priceless.

2022-01-14Gary came to our home to provide an estimate. He had time to complete the project the same day, and we had two new outlets within 2 hours. He also gave us some quick advice and explained the pricing well. Friendly, professional, and efficient! No mess, even though he had to go through our attic, basement, and cut through some drywall. Everything about working with this company was convenient and professional. I would absolutely recommend! Wayyyy better than getting the runaround with home depot.

Carlos fully explained his thinking on all the components inside the house that I asked about.Dave the service manager thoroughly answered my questions via telephone about comparing electric consumption prices of electric boiler, geothermal heat pump, air source heat pump, oil, and propane, as well as my queries about the feasibility of installing an electric boiler with our current service panel.
