Can we relax? Seriously? This place is a mediocre as they come. They serve the purpose of mediocre halal food and falafel, but there are so many patrons in this dump they have expanded like 8 times and I will never understand why. Its okay. VERY okay. No where near warranted for the amount of staff they get. Sorry.
The place is very well setup and covid friendly. The food was good but the Karsali Pide wasn’t that great it was bland. The lamb sauté was good, but overpriced. The Labne/Haydari was really good. The customer service was great. The Kunefe was okay, even though it was fresh it really wasn’t worth it. They didn’t have turkish tea but they gave us regular English tea to accommodate. Good place to visit if you are around.
I am the customer since they open. I bought the two orders to take out. After taking food I have to call 911. Because of food poisoning. After throwing out . Ambulance came . After examine me. They suggest me to go to the hospital . Will not go back . I bought the food 4:30 pm on 06/25/2022. Now 1:00 am on Sunday writing my review .
When I first walked in, I was a bit confused on where to order and no one greeted or directed me until I asked one of the men behind the corner and he pointed to order area. I was unsure of what to prefer at first but I knew what I wanted in my plate so I just let the cashier know and she was more than happy to help me choose something on the menu. I got the chicken lamb mix gyro that came with rice, salad, and bread on the side.I wish they put the bread in a bag or wrapped it. Having it on top of the plate is a bit unsanitary but okay. The white sauce is on the thinner side but it was really good. It tastes like greek yogurt and blended cucumbers. I don’t know what was in the pepper sauce but it was really good. The salad was really good surprisingly. It tasted really fresh and it was just perfection. I think it had parsley, cumbers, tomatoes, onions, and some type of vinaigrette. The rice was well salted but it was slightly over cooked. The chicken could’ve been cleaned better. There was a little bit of fat and jiggly stuff on a few of the pieces of chicken which made it a bit unenjoyable. The lamb was well seasoned but the chicken could use a bit more seasoning.Overall, I enjoyed it and would try to again.
I ordered lamb gyro sandwich, it was tasty, but was a little bit dry. It definitely would taste even better if it had a different dressing. Im not really sure if there was a dressing, because I was only feeling a juice from tomato. Otherwise, I really like the place, Ive been here twice, staff is nice, friendly and efficient.
Went here with my sister on 4/13 around 7pm, the girl thats a hostess who seats people or whatever she calls herself is beyond disrespectful. We asked to be seated next to the window which was a four seater. She answered in a nasty way no you cannot sit there its for four people we are busy. HOWEVER, she had 3 tables with four seaters which had ONLY TWO people sitting in them. BTW they were not busy. Why say no to me then? Let me tell you something, I worked in the restaurant business for a long time, and this is just a disgusting look on the restaurant to hire such unprofessional people.
Extreme expensive for the quality of food and service. I ordered a Memo Shish Kebab small that was a ridiculous think to see. I ordered small sized plates that were just a lot of rice (no good rice) and very basic salad having tiny amount of the meat on it. But dont mess with the info: small plates cost you $15.00. That money wasted. But also the presentation of plates is poor and the serveware is a mix of plastic plates with ceramic. My 8yo kid authomatically got a plastic cutlery like if she is a baby.... a disaster. No worthy your money.
Its a nice change of pace from the norm. The qualities was great for the price. Its cover all your nutrients needs, such as fresh vegetables, meat, starch and bread. The combination is all too satisfying. The restaurant also have seating, wait staff, take out and nice open view.
Its neither bad nor great, but quite okay when you want some Turkish food and have no time to go to your preferred place. The staff is little bit slow and youd have to put effort to attract their attention if you needed something. Portion sizes are good as well as variety of dishes. The place is eat-in and take away.
Something happened to this cafe. My family used to come to this place all the time, even before they expanded. At one point I reviewed this place 5 stars by reviewing. Unfortunately, after expanding they changed. Their food became smaller in portions and simply not good. We stopped ordering french-fried because each time there would be less and less food on the plate. And not just by little, but actually by a noticeable margin! Every time we order kebabs - every time we were disappointed: either it was raw, or the portion was for a child. I got upset and stopped ordering from there. I waited couple months thinking it was just that one time that the food was bad. But after couple months I would order again, and it was even worse. Unfortunately, this place is not worth it.
The food is prepared very well, its tender and delicious. We recommend the salmon and chicken dishes. This first time experience wont be our last. We were able to walk in on a Sunday afternoon without waiting for a table, while being come-as-you-are casually dressed.Dont skimp on the desserts..Theyre so delicious that youd have a hard time wanting to share them! The three gentlemen waitstaff are to be treasured.
The best , freshest Turkish Kebabs around. I have been to many in the area, and like Memo the best, because the meat is fresh and juicy. Other places I tried were Istanbul, Sahara and Anatolian Gyro, and Memos food is better. Meat is juicy, adanas are marinated well and not too spicy, and they dont mind customizing the salads for me, which involves making them from scratch in the kitchen (hardly anyone does that! nowadays).
Seems like i bought rubber as meat for 81 usd for three GYRO box size packages ! Food is too hard not fresh at all . Tastes nothing like Turkish Food and quantity is like they selling food appetizers for full meal. Guys buy Gyro off a cart which is much cheaper and tastier than this Shop
They lost a costumer ! been coming here for years and even they raised prices but i didn’t stop coming because the staff WAS good and food was good. but the way they said about the tip was not nice at all. i understand that tipping well is a good thing to do but if someone don’t tip sometimes or tip less that doesn’t mean the staff should be rude to the customer.
A real staple of the neighborhood, and it automatic go to for a quick and tasty meal. They get to know you after a while, and thats a great thing. Familiarity and kindness compliment the great food that you can find here. A menu thats just big enough without being overwhelming, and the food is always fresh and delicious.
Im a frequent visitor to this place, more than for about three years already, but today a new servant/busgirl (a young female with long flowing hair), told my husband to pay her more tips because its not enough for here. She is not professional because she held up our dishes with her finger on top of the plate (its already is an inappropriate appearance for a servant with this hair flowing plus this finger holding the middle of the plate) Good luck with new customers!
Dont know what happened to this place throughout the years but is really declining in terms of everything. Taste of the food is not that great but whats worst is the customer service. Horrible attitude of the two ladies at the counter. And they are charging 25 cents EACH for the smallest container of sauce which is ridiculous given they dont charge when you dine in. 10/10 would not recommend, would rather go to Istanbul. Also desserts are extremely old and served anyways. Just an overall awful experience
Customer service is non existent, staff are rude and have a dont care attitude. Overpriced food that is bland and nothing special. Eveyone commenting that their food is tasty must not have experienced eating good Turkish food. Visited this restaurant 10yrs ago and didnt like the experience, never went back. Gave them a chance again last week, sad to say, nothing has changed. Attitude, attitude, attitude. I ordered to take out and they handed me the wrong order. When I called back 15 mins later from home when I found out it was the wrong order, the male answering the call blamed me for taking the order that was handed to me by them instead of apologizing for his mistake and then screams at me to come pickup my order..huh? I spend atleast $70-150 at a restaurant and dont need to put up with condescending treatment for giving you my business. Good luck staying in business in Covid. No more chances, goodbye forever Memo!👍
I bought a lamb gyro over rice today and it was one of the worst foods that I got in a while. The rice is dry and too cold, meat is to dry and hard. It was actually a left over. Not happy with my order. They shouldn’t have sold it. And I found some hair inside and smthnk like small rock. Instead threw it in a trash. I hope that the owner of store see this and he will change his staff tooo
Ordered chicken gyro, picked up, opened at home and they gave me falafel. My boyfriend call to the place and they said that will deliver chicken gyro to us. But when they delivered, it was falafel inside again! And nobody is answering on the phone.Update: they guy answered, said that he sent to us chicken gyro and going to block our number because we want more and more. When we suggested to sent him a picture of our order he said they we are lying and this is not exact picture.
Picked up the order, opened at home and it was not the same dish. The stuff sent me another one and it was the same wrong dish! Like I ordered a gyro and they sent me falafel instead. When I called them again the stuff was rude and said that will block my number because I want more and more, but I sent the first order back to the delivery guy. Do not order here!
Amazing food with a really nice staff. Reasonable prices and very modern looking restaurant. I wouldnt change a thing on the menu or the decor. The owner is welcoming and is a great entertainer. The only problem for me is that I dont leave near and cant come more often.
Food was good... until I ordered dessert (vanilla pudding) and ate glass in the dessert. I was lucky to have used my molars to crush the glass while eating it, otherwise, the glass would have cut my insides up. After reporting to the server that there is glass in my food, all he offered was another dessert on him and that he told his manager about it. There was no other following action, no discounts, no filing report.
This place is zero in service I placed an order online At delivery.com to be deliveredThe lady at the phone I asked for her name she bumbles her name not to understand ,I asked for manager no manager she tells me call tomorrow, she didn’t listen to what my problem was that my order it wasn’t delivered but they charged my card she just keeps on talking no education at all she talks at the same time as you very very low class!I hope the manager know what low class workers he has!
Been ordering their food for years and extremely disappointed with the way they handled one experience. I placed a $150 order for a large number of people at a medical office. They messed up 4 out of the 8 things that I ordered, and did not send another, and their mistake made my order $40 more expensive than it was supposed to be. When I called, I didn’t even ask for refund for my whole meal (which I should have) but simply asked to refund me the difference. The person who took my order said it was “my fault” and refused to play back the recorded phone call. He said the only way I can get a refund was to send back the wrong food and wait another hour and a half for my order to be delivered. I asked to speak with a manager, he put me on hold and then came back saying the manager wasn’t there and would call me tomorrow. Naturally no one called and i called at the end of the day. Again they told me the manager wasn’t there and would call tomorrow. No one ever called me. So unprofessional. Never ordering from here again.
ALSO DEAD FLIESUmmm I’m sorry didn’t know I ordered a wrapping plastic with my sandwich! And signed up for waiters and management who simply run away from you when you address the issue. No refund, no “sorry”, no understanding even.I don’t recommend this place because I have a lot of questions about the status of workers and sanitary procedure in this cafe. And plates and cutlery are... I don’t know, over 20 years old?
An excellent place to eat relatively inexpensive. I tried in the past other dishes, but the best, in my opinion is the lamb shawarma (gyro) on a turmish bread. There is plenty of meat and vegetable salad with the hot sauce on the side and the traditional kefir sauce. The podtion fits a big hungry man. The rest may ask for a doggy bag. Also, non alcoholic drinks are available.
Gyro was ok but the customer service was terrible. The young lady that greets you in the restaurant was very sweet. We were seated outside which was not a problem but the staff outside was not attentive nor were they friendly . Our waitress was decent but the gentlemen waiters were terrible. I would never go back there.
The food itself is 5 stars easy but for the love of God can I please have some sauce when I ask for extra sauce. I mean were talking over a decade I been going there n after not being there in over a yr I stopped in got some great food asked for extra sauce and behold , literally 1 red sauce and 1 white sauce for 2 plates ? N if u ask for more on top of that u get a dirty look 😆.. I dont get it I spent 50 dollars on a small dinner for 2 n I just want to enjoy it with some extra hot sauce . Keep in mind u have to be consistently skimp with the sauce over a decade to have that be the difference of a 5 star or a 3 Star ..
Waiter took an order and simply forgot about it. In half an hour they started to say sorry and asked for another 15 mins. I refused since I had to go. Its not a big deal though, however its not so difficult not to loose orders when its not even a busy time 5 – 6 tables with ppl.I thought its a main function of a waiter. Instead of this they did a lot of useful things as I observed – they took napkins and put them in different places. Removed forks and spoons. Who am I with my small problem?
The food is consistently delicious at Memos. The hummus is heavenly. The grilled chicken is my favorite. Everything is very fresh, portions are generous and prices are moderate. The dining area is casual, comfortable and clean. Bring a group and order a variety of appetizers and entres.Check out this Turkish restaurant.
Very poor customer service!!!I asked to put rice in a separate container so it will not get soaked in a salad and they said that thats not the way they serve the dish and I have to buy rice separately in addition to what they put on the plateSo no problem to charge for extra rice I dont need but a huge problem to put the rice on the side ( dish include meat, salad and rice )Ive been a loyal customer for 7 years !Never again !
Awesome food, everything is fresh🍲💯👍👀wonderful service. Its definitely worth the $$$ for a huge plate of amazing rice, Sheppard 🥗 and most important stuff and melts right away, the food is awesome thats all I will say.. You have to try it out on your own and Than put ur opinion
Babaganoush, gyro (both lamb and chicken) and lamb shish kebab were excellent. Grape leaves were not as spectacular but not bad. Beet salad was just not particularly interesting. Creme caramel was great, not overly sweet as some places make it. Overall good food at reasonable prices. A place you can sit for awhile and talk as its not noisy. Great for hanging out with friends.
Today we ordered two kebabs to go, when we arrived home and started eating and saw that it was not meat, all onions inside. Inside the kebab there were a couple of pieces of DRY meat that cant be eaten, its dry and everything else is onions instead of vegetables. Kebab was so dry that how much sauce didnt water it didnt get any better. For such money and service, they dont make good food, and I dont advise everyone whos going to eat there, well never go back there again and well tell all our friends not to order food from them.
We ordered a delivery and basically paid for rice, a lot of rice. Three tiny peaces of meet sprinkled over the rice and some soggy salad on a side. For that price I would receive much better food from a local Chinese restaurant. Also with some rice but some real food coming with it. Total rip-off and waste of money. Will never order again. Grossly overpriced rice. They should change the name of the restaurant because meat was barely there.
Their employees are not nice to the customers. I ordered large chicken shish kebab and they only gave me one hot sauce. Then I went to ask for three more the guy gave me only one. Their hot sauce is tiny I don’t understand how is going to be enough for a large shish kebab. If you go by the size then you should get three sauce for large.
I dont know how to say this but I hated the service and the food wasnt even cooked right plus it was very cold , we had to ask them to recook it and surprisingly still came with blood. We asked them once again and yet to come with blood once again. And the salad was old it made us very sick even the kids too hated the food and was sick just like the adults. When we asked to see the manager to complain about the bad food he never came to see us and that shows how disrespectful the manager was .
Rude waitress with big attitude. I usually eat from Memo Shish Kebab but after my experience with her, I will not come back to avoid her nastiness. Also restaurants this big should have changing table in the bathroom for babies. How can big families dine in with small children if you cannot accommodate?
Great quality food. I strongly recommend them. Both take out, and eat in person. They take their work and quality of their food seriously. Never a bad dish or experience. Polite, experienced staff. Great vibe and location.Update: my order got messed up on the website but they were able to update it and get it to me in even less time than expected. I really wish they had locations in other parts of New York, but they are only in Brooklyn. Hope they expand.Whoever gave them bad reviews: you people have no peoples skills. If you act bad it is on you, not on the staff. I have never had bad experience.
The food is good, the service usually is too. This time, when I ordered food, the guy who brought it was angry because he didn’t get a tip. He went like “I drove 2 miles here for you and no tip.” “I want tip.” I don’t entirely blame him, because the pay is pretty eh, but you don’t just demand a tip, a tip is a choice, not a requirement. The guy was a tall person with a cap, and vest, no glasses.
I went there about 1 week ago and ordered something. I waited about 20 minutes for my food and literally more than three different people walked in with no masks on from outside. The workers did not say anything and there were signs clearly on the door. Furthermore there was a couple that got up from the table who finished eating and they got up with no mask on, paid for their food with no mask on, and exited the restaurant with no mask. I will never step foot in this place again. My sister has lupus and God forbid I could of brought something home to her. They should be respecting the CDC rules! Dont go here! ❗❗❗
Dinning here was an interesting experience the food was fairly good however the waitress that we had was very difficult. She refused to give us water was very difficult the whole time and when she didnt like the tip that was left she proceeded to leave the resturaunt and ran after us after us and cursed at us.
One of my favorite restaurant I like to dine at occasionally. The food is great and the waiter and waitresses are superb. Although recently, a few of their staff changed which kind of made things unsettled. I went to dine their with a group of friends recently, and one of the waitress messed up what we ordered and the consequences were that 1 of my friends had to wait to get her food until everyone finished theirs, only to find out the waitress did not take her order at all, and then had to wait longer to get her food. Other than that, I still love the restaurant, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The renovation was an excellent job too. I cant even remember what it used to look like before anymore. If only the previous staff had come back.
I recently went to this restaurant with a group of friends and the food was delicious!! My friends and I are hispanic and we wanted to try something new so we went their. Although the food was good, the people that worked their especially the women and other costumers were looking at us some type of way. We noticed how we weren’t receiving the same treatment of those who where Russian, Uzbek or Turkish speaking. When ever someone else came they were so welcoming and went several times to their tables and asked them if they needed anything and they only came up to us to give us the good and that’s it. But hey at least the food was good🤷🏻♀️
Yesterday my fiancé and I had the pleasure of dining in the cozy outdoor enclosure at the Kings Highway location. We were cheerfully greeted by a duo of adorable young ladies determined to make our experience an awesome one. They worked in unison to cater to us with smiles visible in their eyes, above their masks. The food was perfect to match the service. We enjoyed it so much that I gifted them with my handmade masks. Don’t mis this dining experience.
I celebrated my graduation this evening in this great restaurant. Well we enjoyed a great evening and the venue was evidently the reason for the fruitful event. The crew contributed in a gorgeous way, the cooking was appetizing and my buddies were extremely pleased. We shall definitely come back again for more events. Thank you very much.
My order took almost 2 hours to come. After complaining to the person who answered the phone all he had to say was “it’s the delivery drivers fault” and said our food might be cold when it arrives and hung up. He was not helpful in the slightest, completely rude. Won’t be ordering from here again.
Nice cozy place. The waiter was very kind and helpful. The food was great, definitely get the Saganaki cheese – fantastic. The prices were also reasonable and we got a 10% discount for paying cash instead of by card. Definitely a pleasant place to go for lunch or dinner.
Ordered memo sandwich the meat was raw and nasty. Called to inform them about it the girl who answered stat arguing and said “anyway it doesn’t matter now! If you want I can order but it will take long” done with you guys. I have been working in restaurant business and I would never put smth negative. It happens I understand but why you don’t take responsibility and say simple sorry....
Would get 5 stars but their prices are way too high! I want to support local business but as we have not been able to work due to the pandemic, money is too tight for the ULTRA expensive items. Times like this a local business should adjust their rates to keep business coming in, not scare it away. Sad!
Served on a sticky table. The menu was ill informative about what was in each dish. We were served plastic cups and my chicken was undercooked and raw. There was no seasoning and the rice was soggy. Not worth what I paid. Wanted to try something new, this place isnt worth it. I wont give up on Turkish food but I will give up on this place. Left disgusted. Do yourself a favor and just dont.
This place was eh. Nothing special. The food was alright. The white sauce was runny. Almost as if they added water. The food itself was not hot and it was cold by my 4th bite. The place itself could be cleaned up. The table was dirty as well as the utensils and plates they gave us. The condiments on the tables were all dirty. The staff were nice but inattentive and seem like they were ready to go home.
Small platters are filling and are about $12-14. The grilled chicken tasted delicious, but the chicken gyro was mediocre. The way the chicken gyro was presented and tasted felt like they had given me scraps. The rice tasted like the rice that would be served at my high school. The white cucumber/yogurt sauce is good, but I didnt really like the red salsa/Sriracha sauce. Fast service. The bread was delicious, but they said they didnt have butter.
Best thing about this place is their admin/hostess. She is Most friendly and helpful person in the place. We ordered lamb and chicken gyro. I am sorry, but ALL of the meat was DRY and not marinated at all.We will probably nor come back just for this reason. Meat and quality of the meat in every gyro is crucial piece, especially at the price this place charges.
If I can give them 0 stars I would for their lack of customer service tonight!!!! I WAS a regular customer but tonight was my last night patronizing them. I ordered my usual meal along with a salad. Half way through my food I noticed a hard plastic particle in my food. I immediately called it to the attention of my waitress. She said to me that she wasnt sure what it was in my food and the rest of the meal was on the restaurant. However, since I was unable to finish my food I wanted to place a new order that was COMPLETELY edible. The waitress had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for a new order despite the fact that THEY carelessly served me food that had some sort of debris in it. When I asked to speak to a manager they blatantly told me there was no one on duty. This was a HORRIBLE experience and their customer service was just as bad. PLEASE BEWARE if you care about your health!!!!!!
This restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is very nice and bright. Their food is delicious. For the appetizer,I ordered babaganosh. For the main course, I ordered the lamp chops and the chicken gyro. The chicken gyro was okay but the lamp chops was outstanding. The best lamp chops I have ever had in my entire life. Prices are very good too. Will recommend it for family and friends and will definitely come back again.
Memo Shish undoubtedly excels at tasty, meaty indulgences, but their inconsistent service leaves me hesitant to come more often. While they are friendly, the waitstaff often misconstrue my orders or forget to relay them to the kitchen. It is equally vexing and surprising when the restaurant is otherwise empty. I also find it peculiar that I get charged slightly different amounts each time I order an identical plate. That said, their food is usually well-done. Despite the awkwardness with service, I do keep coming back for their lamb gyro and chicken kebab. Plus, their bread is as addictive as any Mediterranean place can be. I suppose I am a glutton for punishment. It is near the train and many places of business; overall, a good lunch spot. If you are in the area and looking for a decent gyro, kebab, or falafel, then its worth a try.
First time dining here. Its a very casual setting and I liked that they dont rush us to leave after dinner. The free bread was warm and delicious--it tasted good with the complimentary yogurt sauce. We ordered a chicken gyro and chicken kebab entree and both came with rice and salad. Both dishes were very good, the chicken was tender and moist. I can tell they marinated the meat for a long time and the breast didnt come out dry at all. The small entree costs $10.50 and its decent for their portion size. I think it might be a tad expensive than other Turkish restaurants though. Didnt get to try their desserts but they look delicious too. Would recommend coming here for a quick dinner.
So I just come to this place this night and the waitress came asking for tip and even tho we give her some good tip for the Service SHE has given us she wasn’t happy about and and made sure that we knew it I really don’t recommend you guys coming here to have fun because at the end of the day u gonna get your mood messed up by the waitress
Food is terrible definitely not professional they used their bare hands!! The staff and manager are extremely rude.Edit: The review above is from about a year ago. We visited once more and wanted for Memo Shish Kebab to redeem themselves. However they still have the same issues. This visit in particular, the cashier was incredibly rude, rolling her eyes and yelling for no reason. We were wearing masks and it was hard to communicate, and she apparently couldnt understand that. We were trying out best to be kind but this woman was truly disrespectful.
Not a fan...10 times out of 10 the sandwich falls apart on you. Next issue is that after half hour of eating the Adana, kebab or whatever I always experience acid reflux; it’s painful and I feel ill. Lastly, with exception to the two young ladies at work by the register, the workers there esp the o es preparing the food seem very rude. Couldn’t pay me enough to go back there and eat. Never again!
Normally i would place my order online through grub hub. (Falafel and shepherds salad)They delivered to my address with no problem. Today i called to an order i without grubhub. The person taking my order made me aware based on the distance they will not deliver to me unless I add something. Then proceeded to tell me the minimum is$ 80 which is not listed on grub hub or their website. The food is normally amazing I will give them that.
My gyro meat was served cold. I requested that it be reheated. Even after that, it was still only warm. On 2 or 3 previous occasions, my meals were absolutely deliciously wonderful! Lets hope that my dining while they were busy explains why my meal was not their best effort.
The staff are really hard working and nice, however, my last experience was a disaster. My chicken was undercooked and the salad was definitely old. The cucumbers in my salad along with the tomato were almost rotten. The salad had a very foul smell. After I called and complained they replaced my order and even offered to credit my account. I still gave them a chance, but it was the same result. I personally think Istanbul taste much better and this place is way over priced. Im sorry the food isnt the greatest.
Totally revamped since the last time I went, so I was looking forward to seeing how the food would taste. We went on a Saturday night and were happy to have reserved in advance because it was slightly crowded when we entered. The appetizers were bland so we had low expectations for the main dishes but were blown away by how delicious the meat was. It seems to be a recurring theme at most Turkish restaurants but the servers were very inattentive and seemed to be more interested in talking to one another rather than doing their job. Overall I would definitely recommend trying Memo’s because the food is worth it. I didn’t try the desserts and I wouldn’t really recommend the appetizers but besides that everything we got on the entree menu was delicious.
Ive dined at Memos four times. I enjoyed very much their cold appetizers, including the hummus, grilled eggplant salad, and shepherds salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and flat leaf parsley. All the cold apps were delicious. My last visit I had their chicken kebabs. The were incredibly delicious. They were moist, very tender, seasoned to perfection with a wonderful smokey grilled flavor. I cant wait to go back for more chicken kebabs and appetizers. The service is attentive and the prices are very reasonable.
I always write a review for any food outlet i visit. My review depends on the taste, price and quality. People like restaurants that have great taste, price and quality. I order chicken Adana on bread and mix chicken and lamb on bread. I have eaten Adana in Istanbul, Turkey but this didnt had any such taste and overall expensive. The only thing that made me give 3 stars was the taste and quality of the Baklava but Baklava is something that almost every where has great taste. The Baklava was also over priced. I would say the taste was not Turkish of the main dishes. Overall a decent place.
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The the food there is great and the crew is very friendly and cooperative. Every time we eat in this place we pass a pleasant time. I warmly recommend this restaurant.
Ive eaten her at least fifty times. I dont know why Ive never posted a review until now. They are one of the best Middle Eastern/Turkish Ive ever eaten at and I have tried many around the world. It is very popular and for as good reason. Sit down service or take-out.
This place been a staple in the neighborhood for a while, even undergoing a renovation a couple of years ago. I believe they opened when Carvel closed about a decade ago. I have heard only praise from them, my friend that visits his family has gone there a couple of times and suggested we grab a bite there. We were seated quickly and they placed the dipping sauces but no offer of a drink. Its part fast food part restaurant I guess. I had a chicken kabob in a pita as a sandwich and it was very tasty but small for the price, I feel. I requested and was served a cup of tap water no ice offered. I enjoyed the food but didnt care for the table service much and may try them again as the food was tasty.
Love the Shepard salad with cheese.Order a small one. Which with cheese is like $9 Youll get full and they give you free bread. Many great things on the menu too.Very good service. You can pick the food, eat there which is a nice casual dining experience, or have delivered.Because they are popular, it may be crowded so be patient but the food usually comes quickly.
Honestly with the amount of Turkish restaurants in Brooklyn its hard to stand out.. memo shish proves that statement wrong! This place is what I would say easily the best of the best in the Turkish food arena. Literally you cant miss with anything on the menu and it puts even the most fancy Turkish restaurants to shame. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice.. very well worthy of the travel if your coming from outside the area!
Had the lamb gyro wrap to go. Staff was friendly, service was quick. But 2/5 stars because any kebab place needs to make sure their meat is on point. The seasoning was decent but the lamb itself was smelly and had that after-taste that bad or old lamb meat tends to have and it was also dry. The smell and taste sat in my stomach for way too long after eating. Managed to avoid bad red meat for years until now, so disappointing!

2022-01-09Just a super solid neighborhood spot, huge indoor dining compared to a lot of local spots nearby. They also have a big outdoor patio. This place was bustling all through the pandemic and they are even open late night. It’s a middle eastern cafe/diner vibe. Memo’s is fast casual for sure. Huge grill in front, lots of desserts and they have their own delivery service (call them directly to support and cut out third party fees). The tabule salad is freaking delicious and fresh. Loved it paired with the hummus on their homemade bread that comes toasted on the side. Chicken soup is basic and fresh and straight to the point with a tomato based broth and tons of chicken chunks. The lentil soup tastes super “ healthy”, it’s rich and delicious. Loved it.I usually get their lamb gyro which is always good on the go. If you live nearby this could easily become a regular spot for you. Its fresh, no frills, straight to the point, FAST, reliable and always open.

2022-02-23I have eaten authentic Turkish food both in Azerbaijan and Turkey, and unfortunately this does not come close to the food Ive eaten on my visits. As a matter of fact, if I were judging solely on authentic Turkish food scale, this place would probably get two stars. However, considering other Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants in Brooklyn, Memo gets four stars in my book because the overall quality of the food is good and the service is fast. The prices are average for places that have indoor dining.

2022-03-25This place is awesome! Im a big fan of their lamb Adana (get the large, youll thank me later)! The wait times are low, the restaurant is relatively clean. Dinner for two will run you between $75 to $100. The lamb chops come a little too well done, so order one temp less (if you like medium, order medium rare). Other than that, beautiful customer service, awesome food, and awesome ambience!

2021-08-25Nothing out of this world. Service was mediocre and food was overpriced. I ordered a chicken kebab and chicken adana which came with veggies and rice. The whole container was basically full of rice. I paid $19 for only 5 chicken kebab and 1 chicken adana. Nice. The chicken kebab was on the drier side. I couldnt finished the chicken adana. The aftertaste was similar to lamb, and I dont like lamb. (Hence, I got chicken.) If you also do not like the taste of lamb on your food, do not get the adana. The chicken kebab sandwich was okay. Nothing spectacular. Too much onions. And Baklava was overly sweet. Dont get it.What i didnt like was how they just threw in 2 pita breads into the bag without wrapping them up. Covid is still up and about, and its just unsanitary that they did that. Btw, fix your vent, its dripping dirty water on your customer.

2022-06-15I was really bias about going to the restaurant with the naming and stuff but I was wrong. The food is good and the server was really nice to us, he even gave us tea for free at the end of our meal. The prices are good for New York overall!
