Have you really lived in Northern NY if you dont have a picture in the big red chair? We had noticed that the quality of the soft serve ice cream wasnt the same the last couple of years, but when we went back this Spring it was back to the old reliable high quality standards. So many options of hard ice cream, and their ice cream cakes are a family staple.

I have such a great, memorable experience shopping here. I found this ice cream shop over a year ago when I was looking around on Google Maps. I was excited to try their wine Ice Cream which is very unique. I have visited almost 50 creamiest and ice cream shops in the East Coast, and wine Ice cream is very unique. This is the 2nd place that sell wine Ice cream. The Mercers wine Ice cream is not creamy as I had expected. It is more like a creamy sorbet. I sampled 5 different flavors are of wine Ice cream and surprisingly, the ones I picked out before arriving were the ones I like most. For someone who doesnt drink much, almost rarely, I can taste the wine in the ice cream. I bought 10 pints of strawberry sparkling champagne, cherry Merlot, port wine, and peach White Zinfandel. I had a scoop of peach White Zinfandel while I was there. It was very light and I say to eat. It doesnt taste ice cream because it is not creamy. Not sure how much milk was used to make it. It reminded me of ice, sorbet, very light - less creamy ice cream. It was good. What impressed me during my visit was... My hotel is 30mins away and I forgot to pack ice before stopping by. Even this f I did bring ice, running around all day might have melted the ice before arriving at the ice cream shop anyway. The young ladies were so helpful. They didnt have ice nor dry ice. They offered the ice they can scrapped off the interior wall to f the freezer. I was really surprised and pleased by how they were willing to go above and beyond to help me out. They were also very patience. It was my first time there and they offered my sample of all the wine Ice cream they had available for sale by the scoop, all 5. I wish customer service is offered at the superior level everywhere. Thank you!!! Oh I didnt have a chance to try their regular ice cream. I already stopped at an ice cream place a couple of hours before coming here. I was so full! I might stop by tomorrow on my way back from Alexandria Bay if it is not too late when I return to the area.

This is the only place Ive ever seen with a wine ice cream. I had a taste of it and it was really good.

We bought a pre-packed pint of ice-cream and it tasted very bad, it had ice in it and felt like it was melted and refrozen. I was also dismayed to discover that they use artificial flavoring in all the ice-creams.

We drove about 30 minutes out of the way and boy am I glad we did! The ice cream was FABULOUS! Had pumpkin and butter pecan! So good! Going to make this a regular stop when we are in the area.

Great selection of ice cream me and my sister took a Saturday girls trip with our coolers cause we live an hour away got our wine ice cream which is amazing and some of our good old fashion favs. Plus got some cheese spread the they sell there that is amazing and then we had ice cream for breakfast. Dont forget your selfie in the big chair

Solid little ice cream stand. Nothing amazing enough to make me go out of my way to come back. The waffle cone was stale as was my wifes. Mine was a dipped cone hers was not. If I was out that way again I would give them another shot though staff was friendly and fast. They also seemed to offer a cooler full of other things like cheese, cream sodas, and croghan bologna.

I was told that Mercers Dairy had the best milkshakes around. Made from scratch(no need to be in a hurry). Many flavors to choose from (including a wine milkshake! Maybe I will try on my next visit) I had a classic vanilla for the ride back to Rome. Well worth the drive !!
