Modern place with tacos, burritos, bowls, nachos and salads. Nice selection of proteins, including marinated grilled tofu. They have vegetarian and vegan options, however be sure to mention if you are veggie or vegan; I was told by a staff member that the pinto beans contain bacon, despite it not being visibly obvious.
Great staff and fresh ingredients make for a quick and delicious meal. The place is quaint and clean. While the burritos are large, the portion size of the meat did not seem to match the rest of the items making for uneven bites. But that wont be enough to keep me from coming back.
I really, really, enjoy the fast and friendly service at this restaurant. I recently took my girlfriend and father here. The food is tasty, locally sourced, and made my girlfriend, who is half Latina, feel very at home. She loved the food and grooved to the salsa music. Definitely a great place for lunch or a modestly priced dinner-date.
Tortillas are cold, meat and beans were not even warm. The picodegio was good, the salsa was cholla hot sauce available from any store. The tomotillo salsa was bland. Very limited menu. If your from the southwest or have spent anytime in mexico you will be disappointed and definitely not worth the money.
This place is great. After working and eating here for almost four years, I can say that the food is great and made fresh with locally grown ingredients. I still love Mesas food, with a grilled chicken quesadilla or burrito as my favorite entrees, although the steak and carnitas (pulled pork) are also top picks for me. Mesa has also some options for vegetarians and vegans with salads, fajita pepper and onions, guacamole, and our recent sazanada (seasoned tofu). At this time, Mesa unfortunately had to close its two other stores in Camilus and Rochester, but Auburn is staying busy! It should also be noted that there is limited indoor seating in the mall next to Mesa (which isnt heated, so its freezing unfortunately), there are no over the phone orders, there are online orders for to-go or curbside pick up. In store ordering is available and catering is still available as well!
Very good tasting Mexican fast food. Only downside is that its $17 for a burrito bowl, small queso and a drink.Update 10/27/20: Had my second visit to this location, and it made for a disappointing lunch. I had a Steak Burrito Bowl and the steak was dry, and seemed room-temperature. The queso was really good but also not warm so it was a thick consistency. Could have just been an off day, but was a bit disappointing.
This is literally the only place that you can have good barbacoa in all of CNY. Ive tried so many other places and they just dont do it right. Im not talking about BBQ Im talking about Mexican style BBQ. This is the one and only place that has it done right. The best youll get for miles and miles any direction.
Whoever is giving them 1-2 stars, yall are crazy I got 3 meals (1 huge burrito, I huge burrito bowl, 3 asada tacos) a margarita, a glass bottle coke and Sprite and tortillas chips for about 35$ (I had leftover for the next day too) the staff was very friendly. The food was good I loved the meat and salsa ♡ this is coming from a first generation American who literally ate nothing but authentic Mexican food my entire life the food is good especially for the price.
Great place for the family to eat may be the only place we can all agree to go. They have something for everyone and it seems a healthy choice compared to other restaurants. Food always taste good and the service is fast you will not be disappointed if you stop by for a bite to eat.
We enjoy Mesa regularly as they offer gluten free fare. We used their catering service today for a graduation party for my daughter who has Celiacs. Our order was ontime. I was offered help to put the order in my vehicle which I accepted. Everything was labeled for ease of buffet set up. We got many compliments on the quality of the main entres( burrito bowl with pollo asado and salad bowl with the same.) Thank you Mesa!!!
The food is very bland, no tase to it at all. The portions are small and not worth the price. Chipotle is better than Mesa grande in any and every aspect possible. My 5 year old could create more flavorful food. I’ve only been here twice and I won’t be going back ever.
I ordered a simple bbq steak quesadilla. Service was prompt and helpful, as I had never eaten there before and was confused. The dining area was clean and welcoming, as well as included seating options outside under a patio. I am definitely going to go there again, maybe will be brave and order something other than a simple quesadilla.
I went to this restaurant tonight and was really really disturbed by the lack of sanitary practices. Associates need training- badly. I saw someone eat food behind the counter while her glove was on, she did not take it off after. Same girl went up the stairs and rubbed her hand along the railing, and did the same coming down, she never took her gloves off. Someone cashed someone out at the register while wearing gloves, never took her gloves off after and instantly went to preparing food. While I was getting my drink I could see how absolutely filthy it was In the food prep area. The trash can was overflowing in the food prep area, I am not exaggerating, and associates kept throwing trash on top of it. They also stored all of their drinks right by it- unsanitary for them also. There were at least 5 associates working, yet every table was dirty. I saw two associates peak their heads out like they were checking to see if it was busy and then they’d return to the back room. No reason the restaurant and food prep area weren’t spotless with the amount of people working. Some service issues also but that isn’t even worth mentioning after everything else I saw. I was there for 20 minutes and observed all of these things. Who is/ where is the manager? These are very basic practices that anyone can understand and follow, I am no expert, just have a basic food service sanitation training certificate. Does your team have food handlers card? I really am tempted to call the health department. Am hoping it was just an off night. Most of your reviews are great. You may need a manager to stop in after hours to make sure your team is doing what they should be...Positive was the guy behind the counter when we first got there had a good personality and was friendly. He may not know what a corn tortilla is vs a flour but was pleasant and kind.
Generally, Mesa is awesome! But on 5/11, I received such a poorly made burrito (it looked like it had truly been massacred—torn, overfilled, etc.) that I was astonished I had paid for it. As I live an hour away from Mesa and specifically made the drive for Mesa, I was extremely disappointed. I understand that ‘beggars can’t be choosers’ especially right now with the pandemic (I also work an essential job—I understand), but this tainted my viewpoint of Mesa completely. It sucked.
Takes over 30 minutes for a delivery order to even go through. Then another 30 minutes for it to be delivered. I placed an order at 2:30 as pick up, it was going to be ready at 3:05. I canceled it for delivery. I placed the delivery order at 2:35. The order didnt go through until 3:05 and delivery will be at 3:35? Ill be at work by then. Wasteful.
Good food and generous portions. A little difficult to order the first few times. They should put numbers next to there menu choices for the non-Mexican speaking public. Also do away with the tip jar, I only tip waiters/waitresses because they are getting a lower wage rate and the tips make up for the difference. What?, am I expected to give someone a little extra for everything I get handed to me over a counter.
Mesa Grande has always been really good in both the Auburn and Camilliius locations. Ingredients are always fresh, everything is made and cooked fresh. All of their options are great, always have a great selection of drinks to choose from and seating is never an issue.
Read and heard great reviews about this place but honestly the food was terrible. Everything tasted old and I had a margarita that tasted like pure Tequila. The meat was cold, the chips were impossible to chew and I ended up getting sick when I got home. It was also expensive and I feel like we wasted our money. Never again!
As someone who visits Mesa Grande in Camillus all the time Im extremely disappointed in the Auburn store my burrito was a mess the rice had absolutely way too much lime and was definitely overcooked and I havent eaten 90٪ of my food you guys should really step your game up .

2021-04-19So not only does this place have amazing food and a ton of gluten free/vegetarian options but there service is incredible! Thats all you really need to know but if you want a real story, buckle up...Last month I had planned a twenty person suprise birthday party for my brother. We were not able to have a 30th party for him due to covid, so we planned to make his 31st extra special. The venue (that we all love and still do!) called me 3 hours before the party was supposed to start to tell me they had a Covid outbreak ...and needed to cancel to keep us all safe and healthy. We of course wouldnt be charged for the party being canceled but how were we going to host 20 people with less than 3 hours notice AND keep the change of plans a suprise? Alhough I appreciate the restaurants actions it did leave me in an insane time crunch.Mesa Grande was my immediate thought for delicious, allergy friendly food, that everyone loves and they cater! Miraculously the team member who took my panicked phone call walked me through what to order and then contacted her manager to confirm the details. They made it happen! I ordered hard and soft shell tacos, chips with queso, guacamole, salad, and black beans. The Mesa Grande staff were able to get all the food made and loaded into my car in just 2.5 hours! This gave me enough time to grab party supplies, booze, dessert, and get to my moms house to set up before guests and the birthday boy arrived. The party was a huge success 🙌 My brother was shocked! The guests were well fed and happy. Mesa Grande saved the day. I cannot thank them enough or recommend them enough. In a time of social disconnection, difficulty, and hardship, Mesa Grande was instrumental in safetly bringing my family together.

2018-07-15I really enjoyed the meal here! I thought the steak was very good and thoroughly enjoyed the tacos. The guacamole I thought was very good as well. It was a humid day that I went and I thought the chips were lacking a little bit of crispiness but they were tasty. I absolutely love the glass cups and washable utensils. This is a business that really tries to take control of its footprint. The service was also quite nice. My only gripe was that the prices seemed a bit high. I come up here about once a month for business and live downstate in the New York City suburbs. The cost is almost the same as I pay at Chipotle in NYC. I would definitely come back but I wish the prices were more appropriate for the area. I feel like more people would come by if the prices were more manageable.

2022-07-01This place has fallen far from what it used to be…. Ordering online says it takes 30 minutes, but after order is in the cart it now says it’s an hour minimum to be ready, just for a single burrito bowl. I closed the website and ordered from Moe’s and it was ready in 20 minutes (free chips too). I used to love this place but it has slid further and further down my
