It was extraordinary, everyone had a good energy, me and my children loved it. Few tourists and we are among the faithful.
Having the opportunity to go to a gospel mass like the ones you see in Hollywood films when you are in New York, on a Sunday morning ... is a privilege for a few. At Metropolitan Baptist Church, which is one of the oldest churches in Harlem, built in the 19th century, masses with gospel choir performances always take place on Sundays at 11:00 am.
We went as tourists to see and feel a Gospel Mass, the church members behaved very well with all the tourists. Great voices, a beautiful church and formidable atmosphere, that if we were more tourists than parishioners.
Spectacular! The people have incredible voices and are very kind to tourists. Very authentic :)

2021-05-26Even though I was attending a funeral. The church is magnificent. And the Pastor and organist were amazing. I would greatly recommend this church for a Sunday service or even a funeral.

2019-07-20I went here for the funeral of my dear friend. The sanctuary is very large and clean. My only issues were that the sound system didnt work very well and they didnt have a ramp for wheel chairs. Other than that, Id like to go back and attend a Sunday service.

2020-07-15Its no longer Metropolitan Baptist church! The church was purchased by Baileys Funeral Home. Unfortunately, it was my reason for being there. Baileys is a well established funeral service and, as usual, provided a wonderful service. Highly recommend them to anyone who requires such service.

2020-01-25Attended a funeral here, the funeral home did a okay job but the body looked beautiful. The organ player talked about my friends who wanted to sing, I thought that was so ghetto cuz he cant sing all that himself, thats why nobody goes to church cuz they judge you so much smh
