Easy to navigate small event center in easy to get to location. Have been there numerous times over the years. The layout offers easy check-in and inside is a great space for parties, exhibits, antique shoes, The Manhattan Vintage show, charity events and so much more.
The Metropolitan Pavilion hosted the New York Coffee Festival. It is a phenomenal venue. About 8,000 people attended the event in 2017. The venue handled the capacity well. Metropolitan Pavilion is well situated near public transportation as well as a variety of eating establishments.
Came here for the annual Denim Days event. Very professional and courteous staff managing a very nice space. Pretty great setup with a hall/welcoming corridor following the lobby, leading to a large space. Could definitely see why they hold the event there every year.
A spectacular small venue in NYC. We went to a bridal show. The venue was extremely clean and the staff was well trained. The event staff were a whole different animal and the rules about dress code and attendees was overly lax. I cant fault the venue for the company that put on the event. Definitely worth booking your next event there.
This place is excellent for your party needs!!Its big, spacious and well thought. they can easily fit hundreds of people at once. The bathrooms are separated from the main room as are the service rooms and the kitchen, assuming they have one. This allows you to get away from the loud noise for a few minutes. Im not giving an opinion on the food since that was something that we provided. Im not really sure if they employ the catering personnel or they use a 3rd party, but the service was excellent. Two 👍👍for the security guards.I could easily give 5 stars to this venue, unnfortunately the Hawaiian theme was not up to standards. The bamboo or reed chairs were creaky and weak, and one of the guests had an embarrassment moment when her chair gave up under her weight. However, I find this minimal and easy to improve.
A nice place for this exposition. A large place to walk around. For New York, comfortable and easy to get in. The subway is close by and a short walk to both the east and west lines.Went to a display of crafts and then a quick subway line to the theatre. The bathrooms are only in one area and the show was a little crowded with vendors. Not much walking room. Other than that, very comfortable. I did not notice a coat check.
I recently volunteered here for Tasting Tables annual Lobster Rumble and I was pleasantly surprised at how massive the event space is. With so many attendees and staff, I was surprised the two bathrooms was able to handle so many people on the main floor. Their builders for the event were top notch - I couldnt believe they completed everything on time, beautiful workmanship and set up.Nice staff overall - took care of garbage quickly and great service.
I recently attended an event here and I though it had a great floor plan and the open space for the expo that took place worked very nicely in the space. They had nice hardwood floors, high ceilings, multiple bathrooms, coat check room available and a nice lobby area too. Great for large events to house hundreds of people.
This place is massive. I was here for a vegan Expo were metropolitan pavilion hosted over 50 vegan vendors just on the first floor. They also had about 3 sessions were they had speakers with chairs. The second floor was half the size of the first floor, however it was still big. This is definitely a great spot for big events of any kind.
Yeah Ive been there a few times actually some beautiful events they have a great venue for if youre trying to have a party or have an established event its actually really good play centrally-located mcway parking but definitely centrally located and its a beautiful space
Located in Chelsea this event space is available to rent out for trade shows, weddings and receptions. It has nice wooden floors, white pillars stretching from floor to unfinished ceilings revealing the pipes and electrical works.I am not to thrilled when the room is set up and the pillars block the view of the screen.Been here for a few shows and find that the room doesnt flow so nicely when you walk back and forth, It seems narrow where the rooms connect. When I have been here for a trade show the pillars blocked tables making it kind of squishy. There are no windows or views and for me, there are so many places to hold venues that this one is a No for me.
Its a nice venue for large events -- the NYC Y Combinator meet up was held here, and there was plenty of space for what must have been a few thousand people. The staff were very friendly as well. The one drawback is that sound from other events or the hallways can definitely be heard in the main hall.
This past week in #NYC #uncubed event had over 30 companies coming to the event. I was blown away with the space and lighting. Since getuncubed event had two floors it was quite nice to walk upstairs or take the elevator. Would I come back YES!PRO- sound was great, the lighting was good and the bathrooms were cleanCON- The stage was not high enough on the second floor
Here for a pop up sample sale.. The building is modem with a big elevator that leads you to any of the 8 floors.. The pop up shop was on the 5th floor. In the room there were several projectors, speakers and spot lights that could be used to illuminate paintings or pictures.. For the pop up they were used to showcase the 50 percent off clothing from last season as well as mirrors to see how you look in those clothes.
We had such a fun time at the Level for a Zagat Wine Tasting. The Pavilion was neat because the scene was fun inside and outside. Upon walking up the stairs we saw they were having a Pop Up Flea market with unique vendors mainly selling upscale mens merchandise. It was fun and people were nice. If you are in the area, it is definitely a place to check out!
The Metropolitan Pavilion is an event space on 18th St between 6th and 7th Ave, home to any variety of events. Ive been here for CE Week, Sheckys, fashion events, wine events, just to name a few off the top of my head. Based on vendor/booth setup, Im generally not a fan of the MP as the space is decently sized but not huge so crowd management can be a concern.I was here last month for CE Week and was instantly turned off by the mess of people, all vying for the same booths. Turning around and getting to other rooms was not easy, nor readily apparent as signage was inconspicuous. In addition to the main event room on the ground floor, there is a smaller but still spacious event room on a lower floor, accessible by elevators and stairs near the entrance.
Okay. Its official. I have Stendhal Syndrome. I become seriously overwhelmed by beauty and art.I was at Metropolitan Pavillion for the Outsider Art Fair. And theres the rub.Art fairs agitate my Stendhal Syndrome. Theyre overwhelming. The space itself? Meh. Its an exhition hall. It all depends on whats there.
Metropolitan Pavilion is a gorgeous event space with multiple floors, lots of creative possibilities, excellently taken-care-of wood flooring, lots of white space, columns and tons of open space which makes events here a pleasure to attend and most likely very easy for users to execute whatever event they are envisioning. This space is totally suited for a corporate event that required polish and boring aesthetics, an awesome raging dance party/live show which requires snazzy lighting and a cool museum meets abandoned warehouse feel or something right in between.Ive been here for two different events. One was a Guinness Tasting which was flawlessly executed. Tons of free Guinness, regular and imported seasonals? Check. Free cheese, grapes, pretzels and peanuts? Lots o checks! A learn how to do a perfect Guinness pour station? Nope - there were actually TWO of these. Awesomepants. The other event I attended here (which was last night) was a start-up career fair...but it wasnt your average collegiate-type shin dig, it was like the Coachella/Woodstock/Burning Man/Mardi Gras of career fairs. Indoor skate park? Check. Puppies, champagne, cupcakes? Check. Photo booths, tons of free swag, central biergarten, warm freshly baked cookies, live canvas/oils art installations, bar, corn hole, free food? Multiple checkmarks here kids!Obviously Metropolitan Pavilion is whatever the event planner/sponsoring company(ies) make of it, but its a gorgeous space in a decent location that is in proximity to lots of transportation options (1, F, M, C, E and loads of buses like the M20, M4, M5, M6, M14, M23 and probably a few others) and Im giving them 5 stars for always providing me with a fantastic experience whenever Ive had the joy of attending events hosted here.
A bunch of models that were asked to attend castings showed up today, some had spent hundreds of dollars on air tickets to attend the castings and a security officer named Chris who owns his own modeling agency refused to allow models to enter the building. This is a huge conflict of interest. Them having someone attend to the door that owns an agency and preventing models from working is unethical and most likely illegal. The models work with the same designers in NY, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta. Chris from EMG Modeling agency then pushed his models on the designers ONLY after asking to see emails from models showing scheduled castings. He would then refuse to allow models to enter the building and send his models to their castings. Shady way to do business!

2020-03-01Good place for an event and gathering. We went to a food event for one of the big distributors of me in the city and it was quite a nice event with great space to put all the different exhibitors as well as a place for Ben so they can perform.

2021-12-12I went to an oddities fair in this venue, and it was very nice. The fair itself was a sight to be seen, but the spaciousness of the venue was a sight to behold all in itself. It’s a short walk from the subway, and is in close proximity to a few great eateries in the district. If you are looking for a place to host an event, I’d recommend putting this venue on your list.
