The staff is not very helpful, classes are canceled due to instructors not showing up and rather than letting the members use the pool to exercise on their own, (lifeguards are there anyway) they close the pool for cleaning which in my opinion is unfair that hour should immediately convert to open time, I and other people travel from far to get there to be turned away.

2022-03-22So grateful for Metropolitan Rec center! My sons learning art and hes enjoying learning from Teacher Pringle greater control of the pencil to express himself. Having a teacher is better than just learning on his own. Hes also learning to swim from Coaches August and Coach Johnny. Hope he can take advantage of the self defense class soon too!

2018-12-12Could be a bit better, but the staff more than makes up for any lacking equipment. They are friendly and cooperative. I enjoy the gym, while my son does swimming. The membership is affordable and reasonable.

2013-07-13The facility is clean and well lit where you can work out in comfort. I have spoken with staff about the equipment useage and other things where they were very helpful. Also, I just purchased a new membership for a reasonable $150 for the entire year. Cant beat that no where in the city. Cool place...

2019-04-07Cool spot payed $75 for six months of pool and workout room access wish they kept later hours at least a couple days a week. Having a 9 to 5 means can only use on weekends.

2018-10-24Extremely rude customer service! I called to ask about the times they would be open today (Wed), and what time their pool would be ready to use. I received an extremely biter response in which the lady told me to call back Friday to see reopening times. I then continued to ask her about the time they would be open TODAY (WED). She repeatedly kept telling me call back Friday for reopening times, which never answered my question. Then, when I asked once more if she could tell me if it was open today she hung up on me. She hung up on me! I don’t know ahout you, but no matter what you’re dealing with you should never hang up on an customer. Extremely rude customer service. Need to fix this. I will never swim here again until her attitude changes. Definitely not the kind of tone you should use on someone that is a paying customer, who simply asked a question. Unprofessional. If I could give this review 0 stars I would.

2019-10-13Nice location. Dont like thats its part of the parks department and you have to be a membership to enter. They dont accommodate families who have friends over for the weekend. This is an option they should offer.

2015-06-01I am giving the 1 start for the horrible experience I had today as I enrolled for a year membership. As other reviews have noted the 150 for the year is a great deal. I live a few miles away and thought I would stop in for a swim before going to work or as time permits. On the first Monday of every month they have an open house where everything is free. I checked out the facilities and thought I would join just for the swim (great deal 12.50 per month for access to the pool). I interrupted the 3 guys working the front desk from looking at some movie or something on their cell phone to let them know I wanted to enroll. One of the guys told me are your sure? its free today..yeah for today..but not the rest of the year!! LOL. This is the part that is very upsetting. I asked the person helping me what are your peak hours, or when is your busy times so I will know not to come? He explained that there really was no slow times as it is unusual times when they get slow or busy but to try after 8pm. Before he could go any further one of the other guys who I later found out was a supervisor had began saying these words (without warrant or being asked). we dont have peak times, we are busy all the time. I responded with i was asking because most places with workout equipment have times that are busier than others he was very rude and continue to make me feel like I was an idiot or something for asking a general question. You guys need to get rid of this guy. He obviously is not happy that new people are the reason he has a job and even when I asked him why is he telling me this. his response was im just talking my response to that is shut the f*** up if you are not being asked a question or speak when being spoken to. Rude, just very rude. I dont care if it was 5.00 a month or free dont do this to people.
