Living in NYC we never get too excited about burgers outside the city which might be better but…. The crispy chicken burger was to die for, perfect blend of juicy chicken cutlet with coleslaw/ pickles and pimento cheese ( you have to try)-Beet slaw - omg!! Brings beets to a different level and you will want to eat beets for the rest of your life )))-Dirty fries is absolutely scream on your mouth!!- NY state special burger amazing, just amazing-MEYERS salad is paradise of a garden- THE DUTCH burger is something special we will definitely come back for )))
EXCELLENT burger on a gluten free bun. Definitely going back for another one. Limited menu, but they do serve some basic adult beverages. Pleasantly surprised at the decor - more modern NYC vibe, not the dark and dingy old world vibe I was expecting. Seating at the road and in front, inside, and out back (that was the best).
So sad…this was such a disappointing restaurant. My sister’s burger was brought to the table with a bun that had mold on it. Mine was severely burnt and I was told that is how it is served normally. 2/3 burgers were returned and we felt so unwelcomed by the staff. We spent $45 dollars for 1 beer, 3 flavorless burgers, and terrible service. Def recommend McDonalds over this place.
We loved the burgers and fries here. Burgers were cooked well. Toasted buns. We went with the double patty and it did not disappoint. The fries were fantastic. It’s a bar with a casual sit down area as well. Overall we enjoyed our experience here and would recommend it for some good eats!
Really really amazing burgers! The special sauce is different than what Id expect, but really good. I enjoyed every juicy bite of my burger and fries. Pricing is good, very affordable and a nice drink selection. Only a couple vegetarian/vegan options. Simple menu and everything looked delicious. I would describe this as a mix between a burger stand and a fancy restaurant. Order at the register, sit at the tables/bar and enjoy. Highly recommend for a good lunch.
I came here for lunch this past Sunday afternoon with my Millennial Chum. Not being familiar with Beacon, we made our meal decision by walking up and down Main Street and looking for a storefront that appealed to us - a decision that has burned me more than once in the past, but it wasnt the case here.I was surprised (not unpleasantly so) by how casual Meyers was. Based on the exterior, I definitely assumed this would be more of a formal sit-down restaurant with waitstaff, but this is more in the realm of a slightly upscale fast-food place like a Smashburger. I was definitely intrigued by the cocktail bar aspect, but since Id been extremely negligent in my hydration in the morning, I bypassed the opportunity this time around. In a marked departure for me, I went with the New York State Special ($7.50), a burger featuring muenster cheese and garlic aioli. The burger itself was pretty scrumptious - a little on the greasy side, but very solid. In hindsight, Im not a huge condiment person and I cant explain why I even bothered with toppings as a result (I guess they looked more intriguing than the standard ones?), but I found the muenster cheese to be too messy, especially in conjunction with how juicy the burger was. The aioli was fine, but taste-wise a little too overwhelming for my palate. Again though, thats really on me - 98% of the time I get my burgers plain because I dont want the toppings to distract me from the essence of the bovine. We will not make that mistake again. The Millennial Chum got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($10) and loved it. She commented that the tiny pickle slices were not evenly distributed but I didnt get the impression she took points off for that. The price point is amazing (which we found to be the case throughout our Beacon consumer experience) - my burger would have been at least $5 more in NJ.On the service side, we were both impressed by the proactiveness of one of the employees. We each just got a cup for water, which you filled up in the back via a cooler-like dispensary. However, the water ran out before I got a chance to fill my cup. When we alerted the staff member, he immediately went outside to restock the inventory, and my mission to rehydrate resumed.I wasnt quite as blown away by this place as my chum was, but Im chalking most of that up to my poor decision to put shizzle on my cattle.
Very delicious burgers and I highley recommend the empanads. Prices are a little high from an average burger but trust me its worth it the ingredients are fresh and you will be satisfied. Just a heads up fries are salty so ask for ones unsalted if you have a dietary restriction or preference.
My husband and I have been really craving a good burger. We read about MOD online and decided to go check it out. We were NOT disappointed!!! The food was fantastic and the service was great. The place has a very comfortable and laid back atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable experience! Highly recommend!!
Burgers are pretty good, but I sat at the counter and had to pre pay. Then I gave the clerk a $10 tip on a $15 burger and didnt even get the slightest of thank yous. Oh and by the way it was good but Shake Shacks $7.50 Shack burger is twice as good and half the price!
Awesome spot. Great food and cocktails. The New York State special burger and dirty fries were outstanding. We sat at the bar and immediately noticed the serious cocktail ingredients. The cocktails on the menu board are limited, but dont be fooled. They have an outstanding list of recipes behind the bar, so if youre in the mood for something unusual, just ask. You wont be disappointed. The service was excellent at the bar. We really enjoyed everything.
OMG you guys. Have you tried the veggie burger? Its outstanding. Mushroomy lentily goodness, topped with beet slaw and fresh red lettuce and a potatoey bun, and its all even vegan. I was a HUGE fan of Poppys old burger, but (dare I say it) this is even better. Friends tell me their meat patties are on point, fresh and flavorful. The fries are quite good, fresh and crispy, with a little black pepper over the top. The too-sweet table aoli leaves me unenthused, but its likely just what others want. The beet slaw is worth a trip all on its own. The beers on tap are precisely the ones Id want to find. And I literally dreamed about the double-chocolate slide cookie last night. I want another one RIGHT NOW.Service is prompt and friendly. The inside atmosphere is spare and modern, but likely will fill in a bit as the new owner decorates more. The back patio is the same perfect tree-covered secret nook weve all always loved. Its kindof dangerous having a fantastic burger joint like this in town. Who wants to cook ever again?
Burger was a bit too salty but very good. Theres a patio out back but with limited seating. We went around 6pm on a Sundah for labor weekend and the vibe was definitely quieter. I imagine it gets better at lunch or later in the evening. Predominantly for food, not drinks.
Fantastic place on Main St to go to grab a quick bite and drink. They offer a gluten-free options along side their regular menu items. Cocktails are off the chart(should definitely try the margarita & the negroni). Even though they have a small draft list (3 rotating) but from the looks of their kegs, its all great brews. If you are in Beacon, swing by and check them out.
Theres so many great places to eat in Beacon, its hard to stand out from the crowd... but this place does exactly that! The chicken sandwiches are great (I prefer them without the pimento cheese personally) as are the burgers! Friendly staff (mostly...) and a perfect location on Beacons main drag. Pay them a visit!
Came from the city to go hiking. Wanted a nice burger after the 9 mile trek, found this place and wanted to try it out.Let me tell you, had I not seen the prices on the menu, I would’ve expected to pay twice as much as I did. The fries are so well seasoned, perfectly fried to crispy crunchy perfection. The burgers were also delicious, the sauce they use plus the fresh produce — fantastic. Would love to come here again
This place has the best burgers in Beacon. The menu is small but MOD makes up for it by doing what they do extremely well. This isnt just a basic burger and and aide of fries. Everything is well made and full of flavor. There is no Coke or Pepsi served here either, but they will serve you almost cocktail you can think of. Prices wont break the bank and in the summer theres outdoor seating to make the place even nicer.
Cant go wrong with anything on the menu -- big fan of the crispy chicken sandwich. Highly suggest the fries also. Staff is always delightful. Sometimes there is a wait, but the food is definitely, absolutely worth the wait. Theres a nice back patio which provides a nice, relaxing atmosphere. One of my favorite places to eat in Beacon.
My fiancé and I have been coming here since this place opened and this is by far one of our favorite places to eat. We always get the double Dutch burger with fries (and the fry sauce that it comes with is to die for) and it comes out spectacular every time. Just last night we ordered two specials on their menu, the chili and the risotto balls and all of it was absolutely incredible. Might’ve been the best chili we’ve ever had and the risotto balls had an amazing flavor. Definitely gotta give compliments to the chef there! And also the girl that’s always there to hand out your order is always super nice whenever we go. We don’t have anything negative to say about this place at all. Meyer’s Olde Dutch- keep on doing what it is that you’re doing, you make delicious food!
Im genuinely unsure what theyre doing differently...but the burgers here are *easily* my favorite in the Hudson Valley. The New York State Special is my go-to, and comes out perfectly every time. Ive also tried the hot dogs, coleslaw, fries, and others...and so far nothing has been disappointing.
We stopped in here for lunch while we were in town, it was excellent! I got the burger which was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I added bacon and pickled jalapenos, it really put the burger over the top. We also got the chicken sandwich and it was also fantastic. Of course we got fries and they were perfect. Crunchy, salty, and the fry sauce is not to be missed. Id be a regular if I lived in town.
The food was really good, but the service was unparalleled. Albe truly went above and beyond for us; was so welcoming/genuine, and even helped us track down a phone charger to get some juice before our train ride back to the city.Ill make it a point to eat here any time im in town!
The food was amazing - my friend and I got the veggie burgers and fries. Very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is very cozy and cute. The staff are very nice. I love that they are environmentally conscious as well. Highly recommend you check it out if you’re in the area.
Food was delicious. Definitely craveworthy, the crispy chicken sandwich and chili burger were outstanding. The bartender crafted a delicious cocktail with just an idea of what I like. With that said, it is expensive ($75 for our family of 5!) For what was essentially burgers and fries. Also, small inside with limited seating. I really enjoyed it but others in my party thought it cost too much to deliver big
Simple menu, really good burgers, fast friendly service, reasonably priced compared to other places in Beacon. Definitely recommended if you want a tasty burger. We had the Double Dutch and NY State Special with house slaw... all were Excellent! We didnt order the double cooked fries, but saw a few people who did with a bunch of toppings... Looked like a great choice. Have it to try it next time.We had a great experience and will be back again!
Arguably the best burger place in this area, I have yet to hear of or have tasted anything better. The staff are just delightful, service is fast. When we visited the place was packed and the food was heading out of the kitchen with no loss in quality. I highly recommend you seek out this establishment, you wont be disappointed.
This was my second or third time visiting Meyers Ilde Dutch, and the food, prices and service are excellent as usual. Right now, there is dining in the restaurant, and all staff members wear face masks. The night my friend and I went to pick up an order, when the gentleman (I forgot his name, but his professionalism was fantastic)was not taking orders he was cleaning. He was very much on the ball, and I was very impressed with his customer service skills, too. When it comes to restaurants in #BeaconNY I could go on and on, because every time I dine in Beacon, New York, I eat excellent food, receive amazing customer service and pay reasonable prices.
Got the NY state special burger, and asked for the aioli on the side, along with a side of fries. The staff were nice, however, the food wasnt very good. Took the burger out of the wrapper, and not only was the aioli on the burger, but it had a burnt cheese skirt around it. The fries were stale, and had clumps of black specks on most of it, which I can only hope was pepper.
We had a bit of a wait for our food. It was a busy Sunday evening. After a 4 hour hike we were definitely hangry. When we finally got our food it didnt last long. One of the best burgers Ive had. The pickle was sweet so it went well with the savory. No 5 star because the drink menu was a bit pricey given the setting but all in all the food was amazing.
Delicious, creative food. Classics like a loaded wedge salad, mouth watering burgers and crispy hand cut fries. Yummy twists on a basket of fries with toppings like chili, pimento cheese & coleslaw. Simple decor adds to the very welcoming feel of this establishment. Outdoor seating weather permitting. To top off the experience the ever capable & fun loving staff is efficient and precise. Oh, dont forget the full bar with some cocktails worthy of a speakeasy. Go get a burger!
My spot for burgers on the main drag in Beacon. They do them well to order with the Patty on center stage. A nice frills burger here is a damn good burger. Fries, chili and chicken are good. Enjoy the specials when they have em but if its your first time get a dang burger.
Fantastic food. Burgers to write home about. Fries that are out of this world. The COLA is the best I have had in my 65 yrs on Earth. Have sung the praises of this place since my first visit 2/26/18. Have taken multiple groups there 5 times since. Check this place out. You need to be prepared to have burger a bit on the rare side, unless you order differently. I order medium well.
The burgers, fries and drinks here are good. Now dont get me wrong here, but they are way over priced and mine was a bit too salty. Ill probably never come here again just because I really cant afford eating here even once a month. For double cheese burger fries and a craft cola it cost me 20 bucks not including a tip.
Literally had the JUICIEST burger Ive EVER had at Meyers Old Dutch! A lot better than expected, and thats always good! Service was great and friendly, priced were reasonable and the sangria was, also, delicious...as wer their awesome fries! Their organization and cleanliness around the eating area could be a bit better, though.
Place is fine. Their sauces were a bit too vinegary for my preference and I found it very odd that they don’t tell you what the beers are. Despite me asking about the ipa, nowhere did they mention that it was grapefruit flavored (why?). I could see finding a few things I love here if I lived nearby and needed a burger spot, but for me it just didn’t cut it.
I loved the menu at this place, as I felt like they really thought outside the box as to what to offer when it comes to burgers. The food was good, although I will say that the burgers were small, yet very tasty. I ordered a side of double cooked fries which had the perfect amount of salt, but I was still hungry afterwards so I just ended up ordering another side of fries. Now I know that if I go back, Ill prob order a burger, fries, and maybe a side of cole slaw or something to feel satiated.
I don’t believe you should advertise or call your business “olde Dutch “ if yo are not serving Dutch food. This business is a burger joint and has nothing to do with the cuisine of the Netherlands. I am from Holland and I am constantly looking fir Dutch food restaurants. This fooled me and its a shame.
The worst most expensive hot dogs I ever had. Paid $18 and change for 2 hot dogs with chili, cheddar cheese and onions. Got them to go. When I got to the nursing home to eat with my grandma (who was craving chili cheese hot dogs) the buns were so saturated with grease from the chili that they were hardly edible and ver salty. I would not recommend the hot dogs. Can’t speak for the rest of the food they offer
The burgers are pretty much perfectove that they come with pickled jalapenos and theyre perfectly cooked and seasoned. not to mention this bite in my photo had a good ratio of everything to perfectly represent what a last bite should be.the chili was borderline reduced too much and almost burned from steam table where its probably held but honestly with the coleslaw and homemade fries i wasnt complaining. it was really good.
The most wonderful place in all of the Hudson Valley, best burgers, crispy fries and a dedicated gluten free fryer so safe for celiacs. If I could give it 1000000 stars I would. My favorite is the bestie salad- simple salad, add a burger, grilled onions and goat cheese. So good.
Been here twice already. Fantastic food at a wonderful price. You serve yourself for condiments and water, and they bring the food to you via the numbered signs you keep at your table. Staff has been wonderful, food is so tasty, atmosphere is amazing, and drinks are totally worth it. Enjoy!
LOVED my meal. The fries where delish, the burger was good and the service was fast. There was a line of 10 people ahead of me and my food came out in less than 11 minutes (not a joke I was so hungry I timed it). Would def recomend going. Such good reasonable prices too. The only feedback is I wish there wasnt a fee for switching to a different cheese. My boyfriend and I didnt like munster cheese and it was an upcharge to switch to cheddar (his choice) or goat (my choice) but honestly we both walked away with a great meal and spent a total of $22 so it wasnt a huge deal at the end of the day.
Cool spot in Beacon. Very small upfront. Back outdoor patio. 2 waitresses who have been there for a while now. Ordering situation is dumb. U have to get up and go to the register to order meanwhile they come up to you at the table when food is ready?🤔 Limited menu. Guy owns Kitchen Sink down the street.
Limeted burger menu, everything is done perfectly and will not disappoint. The best cocktails ive ever had are served Wed thru Sunday. I went on Sunsay and was hoping to go back before I had to leave town Tuesday but was disappointed when the restaurant gave him time off...everything was phenomenal. Bartender is a savant!! Fantastic!!!!!
We were here the last Saturday and the burgers are good. Otherwise the cocktails are horrible. We tried the Bloody Mary and is the worst one I ever tried. 60% water... with some strange things on the top.... just horrible. The Mojito probably is not much better... it was a customer adding apple juice!!
Nice old school feel, friendly staff (sing good!) We had the spicy falafel(gluten free), the double Dutch and hand fries done right. Nice job on the sauces and soda...flavor and uniqueness all around while sitting on stools at the counter. A most peaceful and enjoyable lunch. ThanxNAMASTE
New York State Special - the garlic aioli made such a difference. The burger looked plain at first but with one bite, I was pleasantly surprised. We didnt add any of the free toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle) but glad we didnt so it didnt dilute the flavor. I would have this again 🤤Double Dutch - this thing is massive and looks more delicious than the NY State Special. Unfortunately, it was not the case. The paties were thicker than the NYSS, even though they were 1/4 lb each too. It was also dryer than expected, even though the place claims that all burgers are served medium. There wasnt enough special sauce to combat the dryness.Loaded Fries - spicy beef isnt that spicy... The meat was in larger chunks than I expected and it was a bit dry. Pimento cheese looked like 2 scoops of ice cream. It was good but I wish it was more distributed. Not a big fan of the cole slaw on top...You order first, get a small little number, and then wait for the server to bring the order over. The numbers are so small that the servers waste time trying to look at numbers. They should swap to standing signs with numbers instead to make it easier for themselves. Or call out the order number for pickup. The weekend lunch hour had such a long line! But everyone was seated and most took their orders to go.One bathroom was clean.Condiments, utensils, and water dispensers are on the side. Seems like everything is self service but there isnt a sign saying to place trays back (other people were also confused what to do with their finished trays). The servers are quick to take your dirty tray away, though. Ketchup, fry sauce, and Sriracha 🔥

2022-01-22I was starving after a day of hiking and this was one of the only burger joints open past 9PMDefinitely a great burger, even outside of starvation mode. Almost gourmet really, since garlic aioli isnt particularly common outside the city. Glad to see Beacon has artistry in traditional art and food.Highly would recommend the dirty fries if youre fiending. Its got that Texan and Midwest feel with the fermentation from the coleslaw and then the heartiness from the chili and pimento beans.Would come back next time Im around the area.

2022-03-29The best burgers we have ever tried! Not exaggerating. The fries were amazing too. Although the space is not big, it is cozy indoors and the artwork really caught my eye (the big burger on red background canvas!) The fry sauces were great as well. Probably the best dining experience we had in the area. Will definitely be back to have more burgers when I visit the town again.

2021-10-08Came here on a slow day because I was in the mood for a burger. Really happy that I stopped by! The burger was sooo yummy but it was the Dirty Fries that got me. Really great food and good beer options. May be my go-to place for a burger when Im in town!

2022-05-20Customer service was good, no waitress so you have to go up and place your order for food/ drinks- but notcomplaining (self serve water and basic plastic cutlery). Burgers were alright- nothing special about them. Drinks were bad. Ive had better CHEAPER drinks in my small town. Drinks were expensive and NOT worth it.Image depicts a $14 flower power.

2022-01-05Only experience was with take out food. Burgers were great. Crispy chicken sandwich was crispy and tasty. Chicken satay sandwich really note no relation to any satay I have ever had. It was tasty but puzzling. Fries, coleslaw, were just what you would expect. This is a good solid food option serving up stuff you might get in a fast food place but many times better. Service on Boxing day 2021 was really fast so its probably really fast all the time. I would definitely go again if I lived nearby. Recommended!

2022-07-03Meyer’s Olde Dutch is THE spot to check out in Beacon. The exceptional quality, service, and speed in which the food comes out is unparalleled to any other spot on Main Street. Could not recommend MOD enough!

2022-06-13So good I was midway through devouring my food before I realized I should have taken a picture! listen the burger (NY special) was perfect. The garlic aioli with that Muenster cheese *chefs kiss* but what really blew me away….THE DIRTY FRIES! Chili, coleslaw and pimento cheese over perfect fries?! Next time I’m ordering JUST that! It’s that good! If you’re a fan of guava and sour beers - that beach zombie is 11/10. Can’t wait to go back!

2021-08-15Food was very good. Burgers juicy and great sautéed onions and great bacon there.Fries were double cooked and fresh cut.
