Dr. Kaplitt is an excellent doctor. He answered all of my questions and helped me understand the different options I have with respect to my treatment. His compassion coupled with his vast knowledge made me feel more confident in taking the next steps with my medical treatment.
My visit with Dr. Kaplitt went well, he was very nice and most of all veryinformative. He took the time to explain everything so that I would completely understand the treatments available to me for my Essential Tremors.The staff was also very nice and helpful, it was a very good experience.

I brought my Dad to Dr. Kaplitt this week to see if he was a candidate for the Neuravive procedure to help Essential Tremor patients. My Father was originally misdiagnosed with Parkinsons and then ET. Hes been treated with pharmacological interventions for ET for more than 4 years by multiple neurologists connected with Stony Brook University Hospital, none of which have worked. Turns out Dr. Kaplitt, within meeting my Dad for no more than 15 minutes believed he was misdiagnosed and does not in fact have ET, but another movement disorder. He referred my Dad to a neurologist who specializes in that particular disorder. After over 5 years of progressively losing right hand function, we finally have hope. The wealth of knowledge, caring and expertise demonstrated by Dr. Kaplitt and his staff is unmatched. A simple google search will unearth an array of videos documenting the life changing impact Dr. Kaplitts research and practice have had on patients. If you suffer from ET or need a surgical intervention that falls under the umbrella of this fine doctors expertise youll do yourself a great favor by making an appointment and seeking him or his teams help.
I first saw Dr. Kaplitt two years ago and my experience since then has been exceptional. I recommend him without reservation and I am gratified that my view appears to be shared by a large group of patients, as reflected in the other reviews. On top of everything he is both personable and empathic. Kristen and the other members of staff are also exceptional.
I had Dr Kaplitt for my spinal stimulater implant procedure. Being I had two prior back surgeries I was very concerned on how this would go. He was very professional answered all my questions and the staff was top notch. The procedure was flawless. I want to thank him and his staff for a job well done.
Dr. Kaplitt and I had a virtual visit. It went extremely well. He was very prompt and professional but relaxed so I was comfortable. He was very thorough with explaining the procedure but not condescending. He did not rush. He took his time and answered all my questions.
Dr. Kaplitt was excellent. One of the most important qualities in a doctor, I think, is curiosity. Dr. Kaplitt patiently spent an hour with me (in person during Covid) gathering information to piece together the puzzle and explaining the medicine. So often people compartmentalize, and doctors are not immune from this. Dr. Kaplitt put my issues in full context rather than a narrow spectrum. He is a guy who thinks outside the box. I knew that I had his full attention, that he was interested in me, and that he wanted to figure this out and help me. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Kaplitt is an exceptional Neurosurgeon and his expertise on helping those afflicted with Chronic Pain is Exceptional. I have unfortunately had many back surgeries and his staff is by far the very best! Christin is The very Best PA I have ever worked with, her knowledge of the Spine, Pain Management and the Procedures themselves is truly amazing! Dedicated neurosurgeon, who, I would not trade for anyone else when it comes to Deep Brain Stimulation for Dystonia. Have had it since 2004. Gives you the facts straight out about risks, problems, programming issues. Does not tow a company line. His first priority is always the patient, you. Just a compassionate physician. With Kristin, his NP, best DBS team on the East Coast. Highly recommendable.

Dr. Kaplitt is an excellent doctor. I came for a consultation for focused ultrasound. He explained it to me along with possible side effects. He was clear and considerate. I respect him. Although, after having a CT scan, I am not a good candidate, I learned something and I am glad I had the consultation with Dr. Kaplitt and his NP.

2022-09-14Dr. Kaplitt and his team are exceptional! My husband underwent a clinical trial for Parkinson’s using a noninvasive treatment for tremors and has had outstanding results. From Dr. Kaplitt’s excellent treatment, investigative mind, and ability to connect, you know where you stand immediately and what next steps look like. More importantly, he does not rush you and takes time to explain the condition, the treatment, and the results. He has an outstanding, attentive team too! One of the best doctors we have ever worked with....

2022-07-20I went to see him to discuss treatment of my Essential Tremor which medication is not comfortably handling. Dr. Kaplitt took his time and explained clearly the two procedures in full that he can do on the brain to help me. His experience goes back over 20 years and I felt very comfortable with everything he said. I will be proceeding to have one of the procedures with him in the near future. With this being such a scary thing his bedside manner is very kind and his explanations are very clear. I would highly recommend him if you are having tremor issues.
