So bad service. made appointment at 2pm, but the doctor just let me wait until 3pm without any reason. THE employee there just wasted me so much time for the simple receipt request. I called many times just to request the receipt to send to me. Anyone should avoid this office!!!!!
I have been seen by Dr. Niziol for over twenty years and have had my share of health problems due to a birth defect. I have always felt well cared for By Dr. Niziol right down to him helping me and my family outside of normal office hours. His ability to diagnose an injury or illness has always been impeccable. His moral values and his care for his patients makes visiting the doctor a comfortable and comforting experience. I have no need to consider going elsewhere for my healthcare, as I know that I receive the highest quality of care one can expect.
My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Niziol for close to 30 years. We have seen him for a whole range of issues, as well as annual physical exams. Our experiences with Dr. Niziol have been nothing but positive. The reception room wait is minimal and the time with the doctor has always been generous for us, in spite of the office always being busy. Personnel is friendly and efficient. Blood work can be accomplished in the office, often eliminating an additional lab visit. Dr. Niziols plastic surgery skills are amazing. In-office procedures involving stitches leave next to no scar. Dr. Niziols evaluations and diagnoses are thorough and accurate and he is extremely conscientious with regard to referral. We feel fortunate to have such a skilled and talented physician available to us in our village.
I live in Ithaca but drive to Dryden for my health care needs because of the excellent care Ive received from Dr Niziol. Each visit has been very pleasant with consistently professional exams and diagnoses. I sincerely appreciate his personable nature, indicating his concern for me as a person and not just a patient. I highly recommend him and his practice to anyone seeking a caring and professional health care provider.
Ive been a patient of Dr. Niziols for 12 yrs and I am very happy with his practice. The staff is very helpful and courteous and the nurse is very friendly, positive and very skilled at her job. Dr. Niziol has always addressed my concerns and I feel I can talk to him about everything. I will never leave his practice. I think they are all great. Thank you.
Dr Niziol has taken care of me and my family and has always been very professional and thorough. I have referred many friends and family to him. He seems more like a friend than my MD when I go see him. It was here at Dr Niziol office that my mitro valve problem was picked up on after an echocardiogram had been done by heart specialist and I was given a clean bill of health. Dr Niziol disagreed and encouraged me to get a second opinion, which I did. I ended up requiring heart surgery repairing my mitro valve. I feel he saved my life. His office staff has always been friendly and helpful more than willing to work with my busy work schedule for appointments.
To the staff of Dr. Niziols office at Dryden medical center, Im amazed at the kindness I have received from the moment of entry I was greeted by two wonderful women at the front desk they were curious kind and very efficient and made me feel welcome from the moment I got there. I was introduced to a staff member (nurse Kevin) and again who was wonderful, was gentle, knowledgeable of my case immediately, and kind from the beginning, he explained everything he was performing on me and was very professional at the handling of my needs with care and understanding. I have been seen by Dr. Ross on several occasions and again he is kind, gentle, and informative to my needs. His professionalism I cannot speak more highly of. On February 10th 2015 I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dr Michael Niziol, his mannerisms and knowledge of my medical problems. I came in a bundle of nerves with many concerns about my health, and came out a new woman. Dr Niziol gave me the confidence that all of this would be resolved and taken care of. I do not take my health for granted with the knowledge of care I receive from Dr Niziols office I feel I am in good hands. In closing, I am truely grateful for the kindness, care, professionalism, and kindness that I receive from Dr Niziol and ALL of his staff, sincerely Dawn Allinger
I and my family have been using the Family Practice Associates of Dryden about 15 years now. Over that time I have had some unique symptoms that I wasnt sure were worth making an appointment for. I have actually felt better about the ability to ask the office their opinion of the symptoms before getting overly concerned over nothing. However, this last November I had a symptom that Dr Niziol was quite concerned about. The office got me in right away and made the arrangements for the CT scan before the end of the day. There turned out to be no serious conditions identified in the CT scan or the subsequent CAT scan. Even so, I am comforted by the fact that I can informally ask about symptoms I may be experiencing and if serious the Family Practice Associates of Dryden office will act quickly to insure proper diagnosis and treatment.
I have been going to Dr. Niziol for about two years now, and today was the straw that broke the camels back. The service at Dr. Niziols office has always been lackluster. The wait times are often excessive (I recall waiting over an hour between my scheduled appointment and when I actually saw the Dr.), and when I finally see Dr. Niziol, he always rushes through the appointment. It always feels like he is impatient and wants to get me out of there as soon as possible. On multiple occasions I have not talked to the Dr. about something I intended to because I was rushed through the visit.Today, 3/10/2020, I was SUPPOSED to have a followup appointment for the ingrown toenail removal surgery I received from Dr. Niziol on 1/2/2020. I specifically chose this date in March because it aligned with my spring break, and I would be in town. Attached you will find my appointment reminder card.I arrived at the office at 2:25, and when I approached the door, it was locked. I called the office and a man answered. I told him I had a followup appointment today, but the door was locked.Office: The practice is closed today, are you sure you have the right day?Me: Yes, I have the appointment reminder card in my hand.Office: Whats your last name?Me: *gives information*Office: Yeah, youre not on the schedule, you must have the wrong day.Me: But I have the reminder card in my hand. It reads March 10, 2020 TIME: 2:30 Office: Well the doc is on vacation, its been on his schedule for a while now.Me: Okay, but I made this appointment back in January the day I had this surgery. I chose this date because it lines up with my spring break.Office: Well, I dont know why anyone would have given you this appointment, the doc is on vacation. How long are you in town until?Me: I am leaving on Thursday.Office: Oh, well the doc wont be back until Friday.Me: Well this is really sh***y, and I think it reflects very poorly on your practice. I might have to go elsewhere.Office: OK, goodbye. *hangs up*I was given no possible solution, no offering of an explanation for how/why my time was wasted, and no apology.I will be looking elsewhere for a PCP, and I recommend you do the same.
I have been a patient of Dr. Niziols for about 15 years. I have found him to be very personable and knowledgeable. He thoroughly answers any questions that I may have. His staff is always friendly and professional. I can get a sickness appointment almost immediately, and the wait in his waiting area is usually very brief. Dr. Niziol was originally recommended to me by a friend and Im very satisfied to be one of his patients.Michael GeraIthaca NY
Dr. Niziol has been our family physician since 2012 and my wife Linda, my son Chris and I have but very positive assessments of his professional competence and cordial personality. Dr. Niziol has always patiently listened and persistently sought appropriate therapy for our ailments. He has consistently treated us with great respect. In addition, Dr. Niziol’s staff (receptionists and nurses) is prompt, helpful and courteous. The physical environment of Dr. Niziol’s practice is adequately welcoming, clean and free of commotion and confusion. I would confidently recommend Dr. Niziol to anyone searching for a competent and reliable family physician.
Dr. Niziol has been my family physician for years. He has always treated me with respect, listened carefully when I shared my symptoms, explained concepts and procedures that I didnt understand, and worked cooperatively with me on my medical plan. If he needed an update he readily looked up information on the web (unlike other physicians I have had, who have not been willing to update their knowledge, even on request). He unhesitatingly referred me to specialists when my needs extended beyond his professional expertise; he knows his limits. He is a humble, highly moral person, a credit to himself and to his profession. I like him, respect him, and hope he never retires.
Hello , Im writing this review to a Doctor who greatly deserves it!! I have been real sick since march 2015. I looked up DR Niziol in July and he was watching me like a hulk., around October he was noticing problems with my heart and he nailed that baby!!!! I Now have a pacemaker after years of screaming to other doctors that something isnt right!. I cant say enough about that man he is polite and explains everything to you and most of all spends the time to make sure your ok before you walk out of his office .I would like to add he doesnt give you all these pain killers and other drugs that are not needed he just gives pure good medicine and is always there when needed on the spot! The one thing that makes Dr Niziol very special is that he treats you like a person not in big language just down to earth and he doesnt leave any stone un turned when it comes to your health his heart and sole is in it. I would use doctor over and over again. Dr Niziol thank you my friend for taking great care of me and to your staff.also.
Our family began seeing Dr. Niziol prior to the birth of our second son in 1985. All six of our family members still continue to see Dr. Niziol. He is spot on with his diagnosis each and every time. He has an outstanding bedside manner and takes the time to make sure he answers any questions you may have. Our children are all now grown and continue to use Dr. Niziol as their primary care physician. His office is very clean and welcoming, and his staff are equally pleasant, cheerful and most helpful. I would recommend Dr. Niziols practice to anyone in need of a doctor.
I have been a patient with Dr. Niziol since 1999. He has always treated me as a person instead of just anther number. I have found not only Dr. Niziol but also all of his staff to be, not only up to date in their knowledge but also helpful in their care and actually very pleasant in their interaction with me.Whether by phone or in person this practice actually practices competent, considerate, and comforting care. Something mostly missing in todays rude and crude world. Kudos Dr Mike to you and your whole crew. I am one satisfied patient. Thanks guys.
Dr. Niziol’s office mailed me, on 8 August 2016 , a letter dated 5 July indicating that he will no longer be providing me services effective 30 days from the date of the letter. The 5 July date was not a typographical error as that date appeared five times in the correspondence sent me.No reason was stated for terminating services.I think one might argue this type of behavior constitutes patient abandonment. Very unprofessional and borderline unethical in my opinion. Great way to treat your patients, Doc!
I was excited to finally find an angelic provider in Carrie Goodrich. After years of let downs, I had finally been referred by a friend to a provider that listened and was pro-active in treating my various issues. One issue involved a controlled substance that I was given a monthly written script for. Last month I misplaced the script and had called the office to ask for a replacement.I showed up at the office that night and was greeted by an extremely rude Mrs./Nurse Niziol (who had also once been my check in nurse, to my major dismay, as she is a miserable old hag). She gruffly said You had an appointment tonight! I replied that I had been notified earlier in the day and advised that the appointment was not necessary. She then said Youre insurance isnt paying us. So I handed her my card and she said Well... all of the information we have is correct. Come in here! So I went through the door and she proceeded to tell me that they werent going to be able to write me a new script until the following month as the substance is controlled and the script #s are monitored by the state. I replied that if that were the case, they should be able to track the fact that I never got the script filled. She said abruptly Well, its only a weight loss aid, so its not like its the end of the world! I replied that it was a major inconvenience and left. Two days later I called the office to leave a message to speak to Carrie and try to figure out a resolution to what to me WAS a major issue/setback in my treatment. Unfortunately the lovely Mrs Niziol answered again. She said Oh yes you. You were in the other night. You lost your prescription. I already told you that we cant write you another one for a month and so there is nothing to discuss. I was only able to get out You are so ridiculous before she hung up on me. I called back later that day and spoke to a receptionist. She took my message but of course I never got a phone call.A week later I started to experience these spells that would cause me to be out of it for anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes. They started on a Saturday, so I called the office on Monday and they were not able to get me in until Wednesday. When they started to be more frequent that morning I tried to get in sooner on emergency, but they said they had nothing available. I ended up spending 5 hours in the emergency room. They thought most likely that it was a reaction to stopping my medication so abruptly. I was released and told to follow up with my doctor.I showed up for my 530 appt Wednesday. The latest new nurse (the third since I joined the practise only about 3 or 4 months ago) greeted me, took all my vitals and history and told me Carrie would be with me in a minute. Exhausted, I fell asleep. I awoke an hour later to a woman handing me a generic letter and telling me I was being released from the practise. There was absolutely NO reason for my release in this letter. I asked why I was made to wait an hour only to be released and she had nothing to say to me. Being in the medical profession myself I found this completely unacceptable. I had a few choice words to say on my way through the waiting room.I guess if you plan to be seen here, you should kiss the Mrs rear so she doesnt dismiss you in the midst of your treatment as well. Otherwise, I would just keep looking for an office with a more pleasant and welcoming environment. My only hope is that Karma has its way with this witch and I am lucky enough to read about it some day VERY soon!

I have been privileged to be exposed to a wonderful, fast-paced, busy family practice by working for Teri RN and Michael Niziol M.D. for this past year as a new family nurse practitioner graduate. This type of environment fit my personality well and I was able to create a solid foundation as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care with the help, guidance, and patience exhibited by Teri RN and Micheal Niziol M.D.I give the Niziol family a lot of credit for the ability to run and manage a successful private practice for almost 30 years while raising 4 successful children, supporting all 4 children while attending college at the same time, building a new home, and being emotionally and mentally available to their staff and all the wonderful patients of Dryden, NY and surrounding area. This practice has helped mold and refine me into the compassionate, thorough, efficient provider that I am today. I will be ever so grateful for this priceless experience that I endured with everyone from Family Practice Associates of Dryden,NY (patients and staff included).Sincerely,Carrie L. Goodrich, FNP
Please Avoid here for immigration health inspection. While normally it takes $150 for both physical exam and blood test, I was charged nearly $600, note that it’s not coverable by insurance! They quote you $295 only for the physical exam( simply several test and questions from the doctor), but will charge you a lot more for blood test, even if you have all vaccine shots!

2022-02-03My dad has been a patient of Dr. Niziols for many years. I accompany my dad to all his appointments and I can say that Dr. Nizol is a great doctor. He cares about his patients and does his absolute best to give the attention they need to make well informed decisions in their care. My dad has a lot of health problems and because of Dr. Nizol my dad has them under control. If I have any questions or concerns I can call the office and his staff will help me without issue. We are aware that it is a small practice and come prepared with a list of updated medications and current concerns so as to not take up to much time away from other patients. I find that this helps us have a successful a visit.

2022-01-21See similar review by Oliver below. Expect to pay 600$ plus and get a huge bruise or even a blown vein in the arm. Cost is incomprehensible, the skill level of the nurse who did my blood draw is unacceptable. 3 weeks after my blood draw at this office my arm was still very painful and bruised so I went and got checked with my own doctor, worried something had gone wrong. This had never happened before and I mentioned the nurse had poked around a lot, taking out the needle tip and put it back in at different places. My doctor explained that the nurse who did my draw must have punctured the veins multiple times and that I got a blown vein. Also, apparently that is not proper or sanitary practice at all. Beware.

2022-02-28Those who want to do IMMIGRATION EXAM, please DO NOT come here! They just want to take money out of your pocket, in a very rude and domineering way. When you inquire them on the phone, they will deliberately conceal or mislead some of your concerns and when you paid a non-refundable deposit, you fall into their trap. I regret that I underestimated the negative reviews in the comments. I know you may have no good choice for your immigration exam because of location, but, be responsible for yourself and your green card. Dont take risk!!!Some facts:1. You lose your 50$ if you want to cancel the exam2. You end up paying much more than expected3. Worst experience ever in the US.

2022-03-02This place is terrible. I had a few questions on doing a medical exam for my wife for her to process the USCIS application. They unexpectedly told me they are not going to partake in insurance fraud and they are not going to do the exam? Then the lady hung up on me? So confused. I have no idea what they are talking about! I called them back again to try and make sense of what was going on. They just hung up on me afterwards. This place is awful as far as I can tell. Their loss. I was going to pay their $325 fee to do the exam. Found somewhere else to go.

2021-05-27I was recently recommended to Dr. Niziol by a friend. As a new patient I expected the typical 30 day wait period until my records could be reviewed but the office had me in within two days. Dr. Niziol was excellent. Very personable, understanding, empathetic with very good bedside manners. He is extremely thorough and determined to make a proper diagnosis. I find that most doctors today push you through like another number waiting in line to bill your insurance and either do nothing or push a bunch of medications on you before they know what is really going on. He is the best doctor I have seen in years. Thank you Dr. Niziol.

2021-10-25One of the best Doctors, never have issues to see him when I need. Takes me 40 minutes to his office, is worth it. Always take his time to listen to me about my health and other personal issues in my life. Thank you so much Dr. Nizol.

2021-09-28Ive been going to dr. Nizol since I can remember, he is an amazing doctor, very personable and gets you right in and out of the office, however recently Im not sure whats going on with the communication between the pharmacy and the office, refills are taking longer and longer, paperwork just doesnt get sent, its like they could care less. And some medications it hurts to go without. :/

2020-09-15I have been seeing Dr. Nizoil for about 6 years now. My whole family goes there. However recently the office staff has just not been doing their job. My son gets a home nurse an they have messed up the paperwork 3 times with not putting dates or signatures an then when asked to fax new ones over ,they say they will an the place never gets it. To the point I had to physically go there an pick up the paperwork to fax myself because the aide was not getting paid because they didnt send it over correctly. My mother in law an father an law have been going there for 15 years and recently changed to the other dr in dryden due to them messing up the billing and not fixing it even though she had the receipts of paying her bill.We love dr nizoil he is an amazing doctor an has always taken care of but the lack in the office is really affecting the care that he can provide. The rnecent change in office staff has got to go. Or Im going to have to seek another doctor as well. :-(We miss the Julies, and Jay an the other guy that was there. They always were right on top of things.

2016-10-09By far the best physician I have ever found. My whole family has been seeing him since 2009 and we have no complaints. We were tired of doctors who wouldnt look up from their lap top during office visits, and the general arrogance. Dr. Niziol has never made us feel rushed , he has always taken the time to talk to us and has allowed us to be very involved in our medical decisions. If you are looking for a doctor who will listen to you and treat you with respect he is the best! We drive all the way from Syracuse just to see him!

2015-03-06Dr. Niziol has been my Primary Care Physician for the past 20 years. He has seen me and my family through several serious health issues and cared for our day to day health needs. He has been a wonderful and supportive physician. He listens to what you have to say. He makes sure all of your health needs are attended to. I recommend him highly to anyone who is looking for a personal/family doctor who cares for and nurtures his patients!!
