MichaelAngelos in other cities:
Delicious food. Love the outdoor indoor ambiance. It was cooled inside somehow under this canopy. Surprisingly empty for a Monday evening. I went with my sister and we were maybe one of 2 diners. She enjoyed her pasta and I enjoyed my pizza which they accommodated for me to make vegan without cheese. The bread was really good and came with this tasty seasoned red sauce. The service was friendly. Would definitely return and Carlo’s acknowledged us on the way in and out. The food was so good I did takeout and got my partner his calamari for home which he enjoyed and another personal pizza for myself to eat later in the week! Would definitely return. 5/5
The food is always delicious. The waiter on the other hand couldve been more attentive. It wasnt busy at all on this particular night and he didnt bring the bread to the table until the third time we asked for it, which at that point we already had the entrees at the table. Besides that the food is always fresh, always delicious and the Mojitos are amazing. So if you are ever in the area, give it a try.
Good food, no wait, pleasant staff. Came up to Fordham for parents weekend; didn’t make reservations for any restaurant on Arthur Avenue, and wanted to try something “not Enzo’s” (we ate there last time). Michaelangelo’s didn’t disappoint!Appetizers were great - Arancini was a big hit, and bruschetta was flavorful and crisp - NOT soggy. Main courses were generous. Should’ve ordered a bottle of wine instead of individual glasses, but when is that not the case? :)Would happily go back another time!
A family restaurant that makes you feel like a regular. They provided the whole back area for the repass. All the food was amazing. They know how to cook for a very large family and friends. It was a great space for friends and family to spend time together. There is a bar on the back room so folks could mingle and walk around. There was plenty of seating for everyone which was amazing considering they didn’t know how many were coming. The servers were attentive and we felt like the only people in the restaurant. Thank you all for opening up your space to us.
The place has a nice atmosphere. Its very quiet and they play nice music. The food is fantastic. My wife loved the shrimp ravioli, and I loved the rib eye steak. The brick oven pizza is great as well. My 4 year old had devoured it. If you want to go for a nice time out, this is for you.
Took the family for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The outdoor dining area was very relaxing, the food was delicious and the staff was superb. The guy even made French fries for my daughter, its not on the menu, they really do all thats possible to ensure a great dining experience.
We live within walking distance of this little gem. The food had never disappointed. And the staff is super friendly no matter what day of the week it is. I really wish they had a better happy hour but the service and food makeup for that. This place is always clean, and the bread is heavenly
We are vacationing here & searched for an Italian restaurant & we are so glad we found this one! The hours on google say they close at 11 but on Facebook it says 10 & we arrived around 930 but they still served us & treated us very nicely. Our waiter was fast & everything came out just right. The inside is so cozy with the couch seating & lighting. Will definitely return when we come back for another vacation!
Such a great neighborhood place!I co-run a Meetup group, and we have searched high and low for a place that can handle the size of the group (about 20-25) in a private space, AND provide full menu service! Michaelangelos can do this and more, all led by a wonderful manager, Nicolette. The group meets in the downstairs wine tasting room, so we arent disturbing or being disturbed by other patrons. This was key. Also important is the menu. Good, hearty, Norther Italian fare. And the prices are fair, too.We will keep coming back, 3rd Monday of every month!
Amazing atmosphere at this restaurant, amazing food and very well seasoned, had the rack of lamb and it was very good, my wife got the fettuccine alfredo pasta with chicken, for the appetizer we had stuffed mushrooms and it was very good. I give this restaurant 5 stars for food and 5 stars for service.
From the time that we walked in to the time that we walked out the service, food and drinks were fabulously awesomely DELICIOUS! It was like being at home. My favorite drink is an Italian Margarita. They didnt know how to make it so I described it to the waiter and the bartender made it perfectly. Their home made Limoncello is fantastic. Definitely will return. Thank you Michael Angelos for a fabulous time for my Mom on Mothers Day weekend.
This place has a very large donning area which can seat over 80 people. The food is not that good. We had a veal parmesan which was very tough and gritty and a shrimp parmesan which was just ok. The tomato sauce was not good at all. Overall, just an ok donning experience.
Have been coming here for a few years. food and service have definitely declined. went recently for mothers day. very disappointed. had to send coffees back since they were ice cold. I got another cup that was barely half full. think its time to see what other places have to offer.
I order a margarita pizza on uber eats. I was told my food would take approximately 30-50 mins it’s took 2 hours I just received my food I orders at 3:30pm it is now 5:37pm my food is a cold as a winter day in New York I had to reheat the pizza just to be disappointed even more! Pizza is dry no sauce really only taste dough and cheese. I complained on uber eats and restaurant hasn’t even replied and refuse to give me a full refund. I will never again order from this place I will never ever again even go to the restaurant for a meal! Service is horrible and honestly I’m highly disappointed you’re in a Italian area and you fail the one thing that’s your signature. I demand a full refund cause I’m really disappointed and I have to waste more money just to satisfy my hunger.
The ambiance is lovely, but the food is mediocre. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo which was tasteless initially. However, some salt and parmesan remedied that issue. I also had the passion fruit margarita, but it was super salty. I recommend the white wine sangria, it was super tasty. Michaelangelos saving grace is their location, waiters, and ambiance.
This is the only pizza place that doesnt upset my stomach. I was skeptical to try any pizza in New York because Ive always ended up with an upset stomach. My partner forces it in my mouth and it was delicious. I ate 3 slices and i didnt end up sick or nothing. This place made my night, we had a nice little date.
Fun restaurant with expansive garden seating. They serve your run-of-the-mill italian dishes. The pear salad was tasty, if overdressed. The Sangria was like a jolly rancher. The calamari was passable. Bottom line though is that we spent a little too much for the food but had a great time doing it.
This place has great ambiance, the food is decent, but its a large venue with only a single unisex bathroom. That wouldnt keep me from going back. As a reluctant vegetarian, I found myself ordering eggplant parmesan, but noted that they have a good choice of vegetable sides which should make a more balanced meal out of a meatless pasta main. My companion had the chicken Masala, and described it as unusually good and not too wine-y. Service was very attentive (our water glasses were never empty for long). Dessert was less impressive. I had a peach sorbet served in the peach, but the outside of the peach had darkened. This is fine, but I had in my mind that I might eat the peach shell, but the darkening was unappetizing. My companion had a three chocolate mousse, but thought it had to much white chocolate in the mix. Next time I go here, Ill probably find somewhere else to eat dessert.
Nice ambience. Mediocre service and food wasnt great. We waited so long for some extra bread that I actually went outside to a deli down the block and bought an Italian bread back! The staff never noticed. We finished that whole loaf before the waiter finally brought some more bread to the table. We were a party of six.
This place! Beautiful and romantic surprise of a setting awaits behind an ordinary storefront! The prices are very fair and the food grade A top choice. Many say the staff are alittle rude but I am oberving a shy vibe. I found parking right across the street! They respond positively to positive energy. Take a chance, you wont regret it.
Authentic Bronx. This is no Manhattan tourist show, Arthur Avenue is the real deal. Pastry shops, Italian groceries, and Italian spoke by natives. This restaurant is cozy, delicious and wonderful. I highly recommend the specials, brown gravy worth a return trip! It is not cheap ($23 specials), but the portions are generous - lunch leftovers tomorrow! Good stuff!
This restaurant really is a gem in the neighborhood. There is so much room, from a bar and tables upfront, to a huge covered patio, and a private wine cellar, which is where I usually go for family events. They do a great job, are family friendly, and above all the food is great.
Service was not great, food was not good. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter said they were out and we had to point out that it was in the front. In fairness the waiter only checked the back for the bottle. He proceeds to search for a cork screw to open the bottle and searches to locate one and when he comes back my girlfriend points out that it is a twist off cap. We had to ask the waiter if there were any specials. Then we asked for Bread and told they were out. It was Sunday at 6pm! How do you run out so early into dinner service? the Red Snapper was bland and no taste to it and the Chicken parm was salty. Not sure if they are under new management or what but there are better restaurants on Arthur ave.
I ordered Rigatoni bolognese and Chicken Francese. The rigatoni was good (nothing from the other world) but the Chicken Francese it’s the worst one I’ve had in my life. It tasted like they just dipped the chicken in eggs. Tasted like plain fried eggs. Please never order CHICKEN FRANCESE from here.
Reserved a private room for 20+ people flying in from out of state/out of country. Two days before our reservation we received a call saying our reservation was given to another group because they were larger and we would have to find another location. The man calling was rude and difficult to understand. Not even an hour later we received back to back calls and msgs saying there was a misunderstanding and the other reservation was for October not September and they still wanted us to come. Why would we spend our money at an establishment that obviously didnt value us enough to begin with? They were more than willing to discard our original reservation. Such a joke. As I write this they are calling yet again, no doubt still trying to apologize for their rudeness and poor business practices.
I wish I could leave no stars! We ate here for lunch May 10th. We had to be switched to another table due to the seat breaking. The food was terrible. Poor excuse for Italian bread, the Calamari was too rubbery, the sauce was terrible, my lobster ravioli was cold and over-cooked, and the pizza dough was undercooked. The cheese, however, was cooked so hard it cracked. We sent it back twice after being told that brick oven pizza didnt cook dough through. No apology. Seriously..they gave raw dough to a 61 year old Italian and tried to say it was normal. LOL!! And the worse? We witnessed our waiter, Vatan, sneeze over an empty table while having nothing in his hands, and he didnt cover his mouth. It was so nasty. After our meal, he then stood a few feet from us circling as we left the cash for our bill and a tip. And trust me, I dont believe in never leaving a tip, but I almost changed my mind then. It was rude, and obnoxious. Not to mention the whole time we were there he acted as though he had better things to do than his job. This place is a disgrace to Arthur Avenue. Save your time and money. Terrible experience. Just terrible!
Walking around looking for a spot to have a drink and eat came across this place and walked in looked small for the outside but once your in wow huge place. Staff was amazing drinks are very good and the food is amazing and huge portions. Was there for well over 3 hours sitting at the bar. I would heavily suggest this place to anyone just another gem of spot in Belmont.
I went to eat here and i loved it they were really attentive... they dont rush you to eat or anything like that like in other restaurants, they were polite, nice and food is very good. The restaurant looks like a small place but when they take u inside its nice. Definitely recommend it .
So, I took my wife here for her birthday after a day at the Bronx Zoo. The place had a very loud and obnoxious party being held in the dining room area. I cant really fault them for that - what I can fault them for, however, is Fettuccine Alfredo with soupy cheese sauce that tastes like hot water. My wife had no interest in finishing. As for myself, I sat down at a Brick Oven restaurant in the Bronx and expected to be blown away by a personal pizza. Instead, I couldnt even taste the cheese. Floppy, soggy Margarita Pizza that tasted like tomatoes and bread. I get way better pizza in Jersey. Disappointed.I wanted to say the calamari was great, as the fried breading was crunchy and intriguing, but I suspect the squid was frozen, as it was dry and chewy.$3 for a flat 8oz RC Cola, no refills. Yeah, youre not that fancy, Michaelangelo. Check the syrup in the machine.Environment was... mixed. I could tell they were trying, it was unique. My view was mostly of a brick wall with flashing multi-colored disco lights, with some old-Italian style artwork of wine bottles hung on the wall. Lots and lots and lots of nick-nacks and sculptures and textures on the wall. Is this modern or vintage? Looking away from the wall towards the bar was nice. However, within view of our table, was the kitchens bicycles and outdoor trash area. Oh yes, and it is way past time to update the white faux-leather couches in the dining area. You know, the ones with frayed material sticking out the bottom from years of feet slamming into them.Table service was attentive and respectful.Would not recommend and will not be returning.
I have to sincerely disagree with everyone. Overpriced mediocre food. Takes a year and a half to get it because the kitchen is tiny and the low lighting is often too low to read the menu. The times there is live music the guy cant sing and stands obnoxiously close and they blast the cheesy music so you cant hear what anyone is saying. One big room with no soft features means it is very loud when crowded. I have given them numerous chances and now refuse to go back.
A nice little gem on Arthur Ave for Italian fair. It looks like a normal restaurant from the front however on the second floor the dining area opens up to a large area with a translucent roof that allows natural light in. The setting reminds me more of Key West with the filtered sun coming in and the random knick-knack decor on the walls, but I thought it was fun and relaxing.Although its the usual array of Italian entrees that are very well prepared, although the pizza is underwhelming. Although the toppings are excellent, they bed down on more of a bread dough than a pizza crust, like what you might whip up at home if you were on a hurry after work. It seems to me that it goes into an oven way below pizza-cooking temps and instead bakes like bread. There are no burnt or crisp areas at all on the pizza.Besides the pizza all the other food was top-notch and reasonably priced. You can get pizza at quite a few other places on Arthur so choose something else off the menu and you wont be disappointed.
This waa one of my favorite places to have dinner, now its definitely not. Ive been to the restaurant three times this year thinking I should give it another chance but was highly dissapointed. It seems as if the wait staff is just there to be there not friendly at all, on the other hand the bussers and bartender are very friendly and helpful. I had a waiter today in which acted as if he was the one paying for my dinner and it was his way or I can go somewhere else, not good for business at all. Sad to say that after years of knowing and dinning at this restaurant I will no longer be going because of my past three horible experiences this year. I only put three stars because of the bussers, bartender, and the food is somewhat still good but not as good as before.
Went here about 3 weeks ago for fine Italian food and I was completely satisfied. Michaelangelos is located in the heart of Little Italy and they have a fabulous back room. Always ask to sit in the back, youll understand when you go.As a group we ordered the caprice (fresh hommade mozzarella, tomato, balsamic glaze and fresh basil). Then we shared the rice balls which were to die for. Finally I had the chicken parmigiana, all together this place is well deserving of the five star rating. We also had dessert, triple chocolate mousse. If your looking for fine Italian food in the Bronx, dont hesitate to head over to michaelangelos
About a month ago, we, a party of four had dinner here and requested separate checks. Our check came (for a party of two) and there was an 18% gratuity added to the check. The lighting was dim and the copy very light, we did not notice and tipped an additional 20% over and above the amount. True, we should noticed, but added gratuities unless noted on the menu are illegal.I called the next day and spoke to the manager, who said the owner would call me and issue a credit, because this was done in error. No one called. I called again and spoke to the owner, he said he would issue a check and I texted him my address. It has been three weeks and nothing has been received. This is unfortunate, we enjoyed the food and the service was good, but this leaves a bad taste.
So I decided to take my friend out for her birthday, and based on the reviews I thought this would be a nice place. It was not, if there was a worse rating than terrible I would give it to them. One there was no one there which is to be expected since this was on a Wednesday night. I ordered mussels with marinara sauce for appetizer, the mussels came out and had a terrible smell to it. Now I grew up around seafood and have eaten seafood my whole life- the mussels were old and putrid. My friend who had never had mussels still tasted it and told me it was disgusting. I called the waiter over explained to him what was going on and this gentleman actually took a sniff of it - I gagged every time I did- and stated thats how it normally smelled. Wait...what?! Then I ordered a glass of pinot grigio which tasted like $2 wine. My friend had ordered eggplant parmigiana and I ordered Shrimp Risotto. Which I love risotto- this place sucks! I can maybe understand if you cannot cook a good Risotto, which is hard to if anyone has ever seen Hells Kitchen. But the eggplant parmigiana ... you couldnt cook this correctly. Even the potatoes it came in tasted like they had been roasted for waaay too long. Overall this place should honestly either shut down or change ownership since I cannot see any other redemption. Please save yourself the trip and go to any other restaurant but this one. Its just a waste of money.
Worst experience ever!!! Decided to go to Arthur Ave for some good Italian food settled on Michelangelos as we saw they had good reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed they sat us in front of the kitchen as we listen to loud waiter staff conversations and were carryin-on we could barely hear ourselves speak.. we spoke to hostess and she refused to accommodate us and very unprofessional.. food is overpriced and terrible will never revisit again
I shouldve known my experience was going to be difficult once I called to ask about their hours since it says 11AM-2AM on google. I called about 4:30pm and was put on hold for about 2mins while the hostess went to ask someone for the hours, and its not like she put me on hold to answer a call because I could hear everything going on in the background. But I also called to make sure it was appropriate to bring a 10 year old, but she let me know that it was so I asked if I could make a reservation and if we could sit outside. We arrive close to 7pm and the hostess tells me theres seating at the bar, I had to remind her Im with a child and I dont want her at a bar. She then corrects herself and says that its a table near the bar. It was fine, so we walked up the little ramp into the outside and was seated on the far right, away from the beautiful dining area and near the bar. But once I sat down I see several couches available but the host tells me theyre only for parties of 4 or more and walks away. As Im sitting I can see a gentleman with his girlfriend sitting at a couch but it seems he has crutches so maybe thats why hes at a couch. As Im reading through the menu, here comes the host sitting a couple at a couch next to the gentleman with crutches. (Wow). At this Point I dont want to be a pain but theres another couch by the gentleman with the crutches and so I ask the hostess if we can sit there instead. She immediately tells me No! and I let her know that I just saw her sit a couple at a couch! She then tells me they had a reservation , WELL I DID TOO. (Why is this girl fighting with me, is this a restaurant or my phone company) This doesnt end here, she asks me what time did I make my reservation because they made their at 12pm (never was it my business to know that) and I tell her I made it around 4:30. She finally stops TALKING, and asks a manager or however was next to the bar if she can sit us there. (Lawd)We get moved, greeted by a server who only spoke to us twice the whole night (which is fine but still) and ate some fried rice balls with mozzarella, lasagna, and their Michael Angelo fettuccine alfredo. let me rate the food for you• Fried rice balls with alfredo -It was okay, its 3 small balls for $13.(It wouldve been worth the price if it was fried mac and cheese balls, just saying.)• Lasagna $16 -Delicious!• Michael Angelsos Fettuccine Alfredo $16 -Blander than a MF. I liked the spinach and broccoli but there was absolutely no flavor which kinda confuses me because theres Mexicans working in the kitchen and I know their mama taught them how to at least use some salt and pepper.I wont return, and I think the only thing saving this place is the decor, the waterboys who actually seem to care about the customers or at least have personality, and maybe the drinks (I didnt drink but I saw many people with Sangiras).Btw! Dont use the middle stall in the womens bathroom because the lock is missing ;)
Food and service is OK, But i do not like the table that is in front of building next door. It is unethical and disrespect to neighbors. Please remove the table in front of that building know the neighbors and that is wrong. One it is illegal to put the table there and food services will be called if not changed.
It has a great and comfortable ambiance the backyard really suprised me, big and spacious, the food came to the table quite fast and hot (big thumbs right there) the ingredients felt fresh and well presented, i definitely recommend it, personally dont see myself coming back again but that doesnt mean its bad, but didnt wao me
***Everyone Please Read***Moments ago i just googled search calamari in the local Belmont / Little Italy Area for anyone in the Fordham Manor Area of the Bronx. Ive ordered here plenty of times from my jobs on the fordham for the same as seen on their google listed menu price $11 for calamari online (Im picking up my Order BTW) .. when I called she put me on hold for quite some time to handle people in front of her so thought maybe in person would be better ,funny thing is when I arrived I saw my order on the table figured Id give her a moment as she made me wait til she finished all the call orders to acknowledge the only person waiting for a pick up order...I am completely pissed off and mind blow as to of how i was spoken & serverd to from your Host this evening , for asking about a $16.33 Take out bill for one side order of calamari. For a Native of the local Belmont area im extremely disappointed & discouraged tonight , Seem like if you dont go to Fordham University in the Bronx as the saying gos Forget About It and hope to find a New Restaurant with Sea Food dishes since im swimming with the fishs waiting for these greasy calamari... 2022-05-15STAY AWAY! I ordered a prosciutto pizza from this place. The picture is what I received.... A horribly looking overly BURNT and COLD pizza. No prosciutto no arugula some type of wilted green leafs on top and thats it. Unacceptable. Will never order from this place again.

2021-06-27From the manager to the waiters and cooks, everyone was very friendly and attentive. Now the food, OMG, it is extremely delicious! I have no idea how they make their marinara sauce, however, it is finger licking good. I had to take an order to go. I am definitely going back!

2020-08-08If youre looking for an authentic deli with awesome sandwich combinations, you must drop by this place. A tad pricey in comparison with its neighboring competition, but it offers some of the best burger combos in the area - the menu is massive. Wasnt able to drop by before the pandemic so not sure if they always used the same ingredients previous to lockdown (the patties and fries seemed to be frozen/precut). Nevertheless, this place is a community gem. They have ample curbside seating and decent service. In the same vicinity of 7/11 and tons of other outdoor dining options. Be sure to wear a mask if you order inside. The cons of this place is that we sat ourselves and no one acknowledged our existence on the side seating portion of the establishment.

2021-02-18Went there post Christmas in 2020, Just did a simple google search and found this gem. The entrance to this restaurant can be deceiving, Its actually a huge one with open brick walls, lots of green space and pretty lights. The ambience was delightful with music and the staff was very courteous. We were a group of 3 and there were no other guests when we entered. Ordered Rissoto Arancini and White pizza, but got a veggie pizza with white base instead which I believe was due to my voice being a little inaudible in mask but nonetheless the pizza turned out to be good. We were given complimentary breadsticks with salsa, which was nice to cure hunger pangs till the food arrived. The restaurant also has two restrooms. The prices are on the higher side but the taste covered it well. My only suggestion being, when I asked the server if the Rissoto Arancini was vegetarian with eggs in it, he had replied that it has Cheese, which vegetarians do consume but vegans dont. If the servers could be informed the difference between Vegan and Vegetarian, it will help people like me with dietary concerns or limited food options. Would definitely visit again when in Little Italy.

2021-03-03We celebrated my husbands 50th Birthday here. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We definitely recommend this place. Well be back for sure. Thank you for making it a very enjoyable experience even during Covid times.

2021-04-28The food was superb and ambiance was beautiful! Bread with dipping sauce and the bruchetta were fresh and so tasty. We ordered the margarita pizza and the white pizza and hands down - best we have had. Service was a tad slow but worth it. We were not in a hurry. Appeared there was only one server at the time, who was also bussing tables. Cant wait to come back!

2022-03-12Visited on a Saturday evening. Last minute reservation was no problem. I wondered why. Discovered Spanish music, no Italian staff, a clear plastic ceiling on a back yard dining area that leaks, a charge for using a credit card, and an automatic high percentage tip for four (4) or more. I will never return.

2019-02-25Looks very small at first, when you walk in, but opens up tremendously in the back to a nice seating area and bar area (bar not pictured). Would definitely recommend the chicken a la Michaelangelos which was a great meal with the side of vegetables. The rainbow cake and desert were a great way to finish off the meal. Great price and great restaurant overall.

2019-07-01Just had an amazing dinner. Our server was Leonardo, a polite and professional gentleman. I was happy to have ordered the white sangria and one of Michaelangelo’s specials as my friend ordered a chicken parmigiana. This I will say is a place I wish I had gone to sooner and will come to again. Next I will have to try their pizza as it was a fun experience.

2022-06-08Food taste good Service is excellent , but the serving sizes are horrible and the prices are very high. You shouldnt leave a restaurant still being hungry after spending a arm and a leg.
