When we checked in there wasnt anyone at front desk, called the number on the sign and phone just rang behind the desk. About 5 minutes before anyone showed up. The shower was pretty dirty, and shower head was full of calcium buildup. There were no cups in the room to make coffee with the coffee maker. Walls were paper thin and could hear next room conversations. Worst was the breakfast, that was some cereal options and omelettes in Ziploc bags you need to microwave yourself. No coffee available. Air conditioner was also very dirty, clearly not cleaned.Upside is the price was right, convenient location, and ample parking.
Positive: I liked checking out of it. Negative: The rooms smelled like cigar smoke. We requested a new room and this one smelled slightly better. My kidΓΒΏs hurt themselves on a sharp metal object protruding from under the bed. There were only two towels and the toilet paper was empty.
Nearly a no-frills sort of hotel, but they do offer free breakfast and a small workout gym to help you start your morning(s). The staff are really friendly and helpful. 6/5 if anything! I booked through Priceline and there was an issue on their side. At the front desk, Robert was helpful to get us in and also find somewhere to eat later in the day that wasnt fast food. For the price, it all worked out. Its a good place to crash if youre planning on doing things in the area for the weekend.
This property became our new home away from home in Bath, NY for a weekend. It was more than we expected upon arrival! Our former hotel property was sold & under going a facelift. Which included βNo Pets. This hotels location was within walking distance of anything you needed. The continental breakfast was far more than we expected under covid restrictions. Our golden pup Apoll0 made himself right at home!
Not the greatest. Showered didnt drained well shower head is all corroded. toilet did not flush was broken on the inside. Updated TVs and mini fridges. Little reading lights by the bed work but point at the floor and you cant adjust them anymore. Looking for a one-night hotel this would definitely be a good one I wouldnt pay over $90 for the room though.
The worst hotel experience I have had! We planned on staying two nights and had a pretty late check in so we went straight to bed. The next day when we used the toilet it started leaking all over the floor. When I went to the front desk to tell them the situation he said maintenance would be there to fix it. I didnβt want to stay in a room with a bathroom full of water on the floor so we decided to change rooms. Once getting into the next room we realized only one light worked in the room. We called the front office again and was told they would switch us yet again. Finally the last room when we used the toilet also had water leaking from the back! When I called down Hunter, at the front desk, told us the previous guests staying in the rooms we were in did not have any issues and they are running out of rooms to move us to, basically saying itβs our fault the toilets are leaking. I finally decided to leave that same day because I could not stay in a room with the bathroom floor all wet. Please train your front desk staff on how to handle these situations because putting the blame on the customer is not the route to go and update your toilets.
Very clean and spacious room, perfect for an extended stay. Nicely located (easy access to the I-86, not far from the Wine Trail).Because its a part of the chain, next time we see Microtel as an option we will definitely consider it.The only con: the enormous quantity of mirrors in the room. Its a bit disturbing π However, thats more about the personal preferences not the hotel quality.
The accommodations were very nice and clean. The person who greeted us (at 1:30am) was very welcoming and helpful. The blankets were a bit thin, but we had our own heater in the room. The bathroom was a good size, but the shower curtain didnt close properly. Overall though, I would definitely stay ther again.
Worst 2 nights of sleep in a hotel Ive ever had. The staff were fine, they were quite friendly, but there were issues with the hotel itself: The toilet seat was loose, the refrigerator from time to time would suddenly make a loud noise that lasted for 15 to 20 minutes, waking me up several times.Β A loud noise, like hearing a shower through the wall coming from room next door started about midnight on the second night and lasted for 2 hours. The walls are thin and the connecting doors do nothing to stop you from hearing even just normal conversations in the next room. The first night I went downstairs to let the front desk know of my concerns and ask her if the hotel provided ear plugs for the guest. She said they do not, so I would have had to walk 2 blocks in the dark to a drug store in the hopes of buying some, but didnt want to do that at my age. To her credit, she offered to give me a different room but I declined when she said Id still have someone next to me. That night I stuffed Kleenex in my ears but purchased ear plugs the next morning. A small thing, but I discovered there were no Coffee cups in the room the next morning. They did quickly bring some up.In summary, the staff are friendly and try their best, but the hotel has a lot of structural and mechanical problems from very poor sound insulation between rooms to poorly functioning appliances. My travel partner in the next room complained of a loud clanking air conditioner. Neither of us got much sleep. We will not be using this hotel again.
Our 1st time staying at a Microtel & it definitely wont be the last. We were very impressed with the place!! Staff was very friendly & helpful, Rooms were great! Beds were very comfortable & pillows were fluffy. We didnt go to the continental breakfast because we slept in. So I cant even tell you what was there, coffee was delicious tho, which the have in the lobby 24 hours.
Small room, very small television, not very good lighting over desk, no microwave, no counter space in bathroom, tub drained slowly so covered feet with a few inches of water while showering, but water was hot, no hot breakfast, but room was clean and the staff were friendly. Website said bus, truck, and RV parking, but parking lot was small and did not go all the way around the building, so have to do some manuvering to get turned around.
We checked in and checked out. We did not stay the night and requested a refund. We are in the midst of a global pandemic and this hotel was FILTHY!!! Mask wearing was not enforced. The fellow behind the desk was wearing on his chin. Guests came and went with no masks and no one said a word!! The towels were stained, the carpets disgusting, dust everywhere, dirty walls, disgusting dust and muck filled bathroom vent, and a horrible mildew smell emanating out of the air conditioner. When I approached the guy behind the desk and asked him if there was a clean room with a clean carpet he said, βHow should I know? Iβm not housekeeping!β UNACCEPTABLE!!! We ran for our lives!!
We stayed here as part of the Corvette group for the Watkins Glen race. Itβs a great value hotel. The staff were all very friendly and the room was clean as you would expect. Now that being said, this ainβt the Waldorf Astoria so expect some minor imperfections. The bed in room 118 was probably the most comfortable hotel bed Iβve ever slept in and thatβs not an exaggeration. I was right next to the breakfast area and did not hear any commotion in the morning, only when our group got roudy in the lobby after checking in the second night.
Staff are friendly but the place is old. I think they refurbished the hotel from something there for a long time. You can hear your neighbors from upstairs and next doors of both sides. The bathroom door handle came off. We just put it back. The toilet takes a long time to fill. And I even fixed it once since a flush got struck. It looked to me that there was black mold on the top of the shower wall. The bathroom fan was making lots of noise but the room was still streaming. I wouldnt not go there if you have allergies. And we stayed at another location and it was fine. Just this location is a problem.
Oh where to begin... So I booked a hotel stay at the Microtel in Bath a month prior to going. Reserved 2 rooms (one for my husband and I another for a couple we were traveling with). The reservation process was difficult and I had to call back more than once because of errors on their part and messing up and not getting emails (this was all done on the same day). So fast forward to the day of our reservation I am enroute and I miss a call from a number that I do not recognize but is similar to a number I had called earlier to verify the check in time. No message is left. I decide to call back to see. They state oh yeah so we dont have the rooms you reserved. We have one and we can get you another room. We will reduce the price of that room. When I arrived I asked to talk to a manager to see where things went wrong, they had left for the day (it was 430). The gentleman at the desk was pleasant and trying to help but there was a housekeeper person helping with check ins too and she was extremely rude and did not show any compassion at the fact that the whole process was messed up and the fsct that i was called but no message left and the only reason I knew at all was that I called back was extremely unprofessional. She said well you room is at a discount so it should be fine. As if this is isnt bad enough the person that had checked in right before us came back down and states that they were just sent up to a room that was already occupied by someone else. They walked into someone elses room!!! The rude girl rolls her eyes gets out her phone calls someone and figures out what room this person should be in and gives them keys. Doesnt apologize just states that they are full and ita the busiest weekend of the year. I can understand that but both of these things seem like major errors and apologies go a LONG WAY!So staff was not very pleasant to deal with at all. When asking for extra blankets or towels our friends were told the hotel was out of them. They were offered towels that were stained up! Seriously how do you run out of towels and blankets? Our room was not cleaned while we were there. There was a sign stating they would not give fresh towels unless left on the floor to help with water preservation etc, thats fine but you actually have to go into the rooms and check!! Neither room was touched at all! Also just a heads up the walls are super thin we heard every conversation of the room next to us the whole weekend we were there. If you exited out the side door closest to your room you could not get back in with your room key even though it had the ability to do it, it however was not working and no sign was even posted to let people know this so people just stood there trying their card over and over again.Anytime we went to the front desk they acted like we were a major inconvenience to them and annoyed that we were down there. I went once just to get a piece of paper and a pen as non were in the room and had to wait 10 minutes for someone to even show up at the front desk. Also they had no cups in the room. There was a coffee pot but nothing to make coffee with or drink it out of. (There was coffee available in the lobby).Overall I was not impressed with the service of this place to say the least and will not be going back.
We were able to get a room overnight despite calling at 10pm. The front desk lady, Cheryl, was very welcoming. The room was decent and offered a window out looking a nice backyard/woodsy area. It was a refreshing change from the usual Industrial views of other hotels. The only thing I noticed that kept me from rating 5 stars was a faint smokers smell in the room even though all the rooms were labeled smoke free. The hotel did offer a breakfast, and check out was quite simple!
I had to stay here while I was losing my mom who was in Corning. Hunter and Crystal went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable, continually offered help in anyway shape or form, were the kindest people. They let me cry and talk if I needed too, and always asked me in coming and going how I was and how my mom was. I will never forget this day as this was one of the saddest things Iβve ever gone through. Thank you so much to Hunter and Crystal for the safe, clean and relaxing stayβ€οΈπ₯°β€οΈππ
I stayed here for about a month with work and found the staff incredibly friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. It really felt like home away from home as the staff went out of their way to make sure that myself and my co-workers were very well taken care of. This was one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. I really cant say enough about how lucky we were to have this hotel for our stay.
Manager was great, bent over backwards to take care of us. The house keeping was lousy did not clean the room from the last people that stayed the night before. The manger could not apologize enough for the house keeping not doing their job. The manger took care of us at 9:00 pm so we could go in the room to use it.
I reserved a 2 bed room. Room was nice, decent size, fridge, well lighted, modern. The only thing I could see changing is the size of the tv, way to small for the size of the room. The front desk staff was efficient but not overly warm and inviting. I would stay here again.
Currently a room over here is $51(57 with taxes). For this price you are getting a great deal! The rooms are clean, and better furnished than some $100+ hotels. Everything seems relatively new. On the negative side - the TV is pretty small, there is no microwave in the room, and the choice of breakfast is very limited. I cannot take points for those things since its so cheap and cleanliness is most important to me.I recommend this place.
I stayed here because I was on a job at a local school. Check in was very easy and the staff was very friendly. I liked the location because there was plenty of restaurants close by that I could easily walk to if I needed too. The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfy. I would have liked a microwave in the room though. A bit more selection for breakfast would have also been nice.
We got there to check in at 3:00. Our room was not ready. They gave us the key and said they would clean the room in a1/2 hr. We went back at 4:00 still not cleaned. When we left the house keeper said she would personally make sure the room was clean. She put the cart in front of our room. We came back at 9:00 and it was still not cleaned. We talked to the manager and she came up to clean out room. The manager was great. The cleaning staff was lacking. We have stayed in this hotel for the past5 Valentines day weekend. This is the 1st time for a bad job from the hotel. The house cleaning staff needs a house cleaning
Clean, comfortable, well appointed room. Front desk was friendly on arrival. On departure, I tried to leave a compliment for the staff who cleaned my room and was told shortly to just post it on line by the young man at the front desk. I had planned to but normally hotels inquire about your stay on departure. He was rude.
Room was adequate, housekeeping was terrible. We had 2 rooms for 2 nights, beds were not made, trash not emptied, shampoo & soap not replaced, coffee not replaced in either room. Trash can at front door was overflowing with garbage for 2 days and food and drinks spilled onto the sidewalk still as we were leaving. Only thing going for it was the price
The cleanest and best smelling in bath ny, i have stayed here about 12-15 times last 2 years and have been happy except today the first room had black charcoal looking stuff on the white bed sheets plus tobacco residue on the stand and the second room we were sent to had a pubic hair, bloody snot and head hair over it and the pillows. Will give it another try next time we stay down here.Update: very clean this time, they may have had some bad cleaners last time. Will update 3 stars to 4 stars.
I was planning to book a cabin or lake house for the weekend but was having trouble finding one that was pet friendly. So we opted for a hotel instead. Overall the stay wasnβt terrible, but I definitely wonβt be back. The front desk staff was rude. On the phone and in person. Never once heard βThank you for your stay,β βBreakfast starts at wheneverβ or βHave a good weekend.β I understand that itβs not their job to be nice but even a smile would have been welcome. I truly felt like a nuisance calling to book the room and again when checking in. They did agree to an early check in (of 30 minutes) and agreed to upgrade my room to a suite (at an additional cost) so that we could have more space, which was nice. Although the front desk did make a huge show about asking all the housekeeping (in front of me) which rooms were ready etc etc. When we had called earlier in the week to book they said that there was βonly one room availableβ for Saturday, so it was odd that suddenly there were so many options that just needed to be cleaned. The room was extremely basic. A bit dirty. The sheets were scratchy. The fridge didnβt work. The stools were very stained. The shower didnβt have a liner, just a thin fabric curtain. The towels were very worn and rough. The toilet paper roll has half empty (likely not replaced since the last visitor) but the last sheet was sloppily folded into a triangle, which was a nice touch. They supplied shampoo and a face and body bar (no conditioner). The walls were extremely thin. The bed was comfortable, but the blankets were thin. The sheet had a small blood stain on it, and I found a bug on my pillow. I would have asked to change rooms, but as I had already requested a room change to have more space when we checked in, and no one had been accommodating from the start, I didnβt even bother. We only stayed one night and will not be staying again, which is a shame because weβve always had good experiences at Wyndham hotels. Oh well!If youβre looking to stay somewhere in the area, get a lake house. Or save your money and try the Super 8! I guarantee itβs not any worse than what we experienced.
Very clean very spacious rooms, very comfortable bed. The suite had a hot tub and refrigerator/microwave with sink, plenty of storage. Lots of mirrors, really nice hotel, highly recommended over the others in the immediate vicinity, especially over the days inn. Pizza across the street and taco bell next door. Go for it if you have the choice.
This hotel is clean and comfortable, and the price is good. However, there is very little soundproofing. I heard three different dogs barking from other hotel rooms throughout the night, and we could hear our neighbors before 7:00 a.m. The breakfast was typical of MicroTel - packaged pastries or bagels. Not a bad place to stay, but more soundproofing is needed.
The rooms are ok and desk service is fine but the complimentary breakfast is AWFUL...the rolls are hard, the food is cold and its such a turnoff after having an otherwise decent stay. If you want to keep clients coming, you need to spruce up the complimentary breakfast because right now, it stinks.
My husband + I decided to stay here for my 29th birthday since I love Hammondsport and this hotel is a 10-20minute drive away! That part was great! However, when we checked into our hotel, there was a big pile of USED sheets, pillowcases, and towels sitting right inside the door of our room. I reluctantly moved them outside but they sat there for hours until I had to call the front desk to remove them. The woman at the front said shed write it down but we never heard anything after that. We also had a large, mysterious stain on our carpet right next to the bed. The only other complaint we had was about the showerhead - we understand that the hotel is trying to be eco friendly but there should still be water spraying from all parts of the showerhead not just the outer rim - this along with light water pressure makes it IMPOSSIBLE to fully get clean, speaking as a woman who spent 4 hours driving - a proper shower is a must. Other than that, the complimentary breakfast was great, the room size + layout was modern and awesome, and they had vending machines that actually worked right by the elevators so who doesnt love that. Just a couple things to work on but mostly, good stay! Would recommend!
The hotel was fairly clean and comfortable overall. The bathroom floor boards could use some attention, but otherwise it was a good place to stay. We stayed over Easter and they put out eggs for the kids to find which I thought was a nice touch. The breakfast is a standard continental breakfast - prepackaged muffins, patries, cold cereal, and bagels. The coffee was so so and probably my biggest gripe. π There is a Dunkin Donuts within walking distance, however.
My wife and I didnt get the room we originally sought after or paid for by description on Ogoda.com. We had really noisy neighbors after I requested a quiet room. We then after my wife wanted to go someplace and had her hands full kicked the door and immediately a woman came and was telling her to leave the hotel immediately and for me to give money to her outside. Later I was told that it was reported that we were coming and to keep an eye out on us via a caseworker through DSS, we have been in Bath NY for 2 weeks and from what the neighbors were saying about us it was very clear that our privacy was thrown out on a line.-B.Anderson
We walk in and the lady behind the desk was rude. We go to our non smoking room and walk in to it smelling like stale cigarette smoke. We tell the lady behind the desk and she says she will upgrade us. We go to our new room and there is a spider on the comforter and BED BUGS underneath the pillows.
Supervisor locked me out of my room for an hour. Housekeeper was rummaging through my belongings. I asked them to call the police. They told me no & told me to call them. My cellphone & work computer was locked in the room. Over an hour I paced the hallway. I left to make a call at Taco Bell. Then the cops finally showed up. I had three cops escort me to the room. It stunk of marijuana. They set me up. I had to unlock my phone to prove it was mine & they stole money out of my wallet. Supervisor later told my employees that I pulled the fire alarm! Terrible. I reported it & they said Iβm on the do not rent list! Absolutely disgusting!
Room was clean and staff was very friendly. Had an issue with checkout. Looked at the receipt and noticed we were overcharged by almost $100 which had already been processed on my debit card. I brought it to the attention of the front desk attendant who said she was aware the computer had been glitching the day before and charging guests for an extra night. My concern was that If she was aware the computer has this glitch and was over-charging guests, she should have paid more attention before processing our payment. She did issue a refund, but of course it wonβt hit my bank for 3-4 days. So in the meantime we are short almost $100 which is unfair.
It took us 2 tries to get a room that was clean and 2 tries to get one that didnt reek of cigarette smoke!! Even the room that we excepted had a smoke cent and needed to be sprayed with deodorizer before we would accept it. Other than that, it wasnt bad. Through this ordeal the staff was appoligetic and accommodating.
Decent and Inexpensive LodgingI like the Microtel in Bath, NY. Whenever we visit Hammondsport, we stay at the Microtel because of its convenience and quality. The rooms are small but the staff has big hearts. Breakfast is the primary weak point here. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to add king size beds to the room possibilities. We stayed in a room with two queen beds this time, so the space is available.
Walked in to our room and it reeked of a foul odor. Turns out the staff cleaned the room and bath but left a plugged up diarrhea filled toilet untouched. The wife almost vomited and I felt dirty just touching the door handles and phoneFinally got another room that was much better. Think I will stay at the budget next visit
The location is roughly within an hours drive of Corning, Watkins Glen and Ithaca, which is reasonable given the price of a nights stay. Breakfast is very bare bones, with no hot food unless you count toast, but itll get the job done. The hotel and rooms seems fairly clean and modern, no complaints there. The WiFi speed in my 3rd floor room was absolutely ATROCIOUS, though. Video streaming was out of the question, and even text-based webpages were very slow to load, with the connection dropping often.
Good quality for the price! And thank you to the staff for a great stay at the Microtel Inn in Bath New York. This is a great place for our CanAm group to stay when we attend Watkins Glen IMSA race. Nice hospitality and good rates. Hope we are booked here next year.
This hotel has serious noise issues, almost as if no sound insulation whatsoever. We could hear everything happening in the hallway, the ice machines and the other rooms and we couldnt sleep before midnight till everything calmed down. And then we were woken up at 4am by the sound of something dripping outside, probably an A.C. It was so loud it woke us up and we couldnt really sleep after that.
Rooms are good and comfortable BUT walls are paper thin. We could hear EVERYTHING from every room....not ideal for honeymoons. New, clean, good value. The free breakfast is really simple, toast, bagel, coffee, OJ. 30 min driving to Corning Museum and 30 min to Keuka lake.
We stayed in the hotel for 2 days in July.My husband received a 1 gash on the head from a defunct security lock while we were checking in. We spent our first night at the hotel with me performing first aid.The hotel offered no recompense for the injury and we only received a trivialising letter from corporate 6 weeks later. The hotel made no recognition or reply to a request that the door be made safe for other visitors. They did not even have the courtesy to call my husband direct with an apology.I would not recommend anyone to stay with the hotel group not due to any concern with the hotel, but for the compassionless staff alone. Obviously a flaw in corporate training to teach that the injured customer is never right?
Although the rooms were clean, I was on the bottom floor and the noise from above was terrible. My parents were in the room above me and I could hear all of their movements and trips to the bathroom. The doors of the rooms also slam so I was kept awake by noises from above me and from the hallway. My neighbor starting going in and out of his/her room at about 4 am and I heard the door slam everytime ... arghhhh. I was absolutely exhausted and miserable by the morning. If you stay here, request a room on the 2nd floor. Postives: good air conditioning and clean rooms.
After this hotel was recommended to me, I planned on staying for 2 months for a work assignment. I ended up checking out on the 3rd day. Every morning I woke up with BUG BITES on my arms and legs!!! Also, one evening my mother could not reach me by cell (poor reception) so she called the hotel, they were rude to her and refused to connect her to my room because guest information was against the law to give out. I stay at wyndham hotels often for work, I would never recommend this location to anyone.
Clean, quiet. AC works great. Decent restaurants. Breakfast was ok. Basic continental breakfast. 3 bad things. 10 channels to choose from. No cable, come on this is 2016. Wi Fi, wait you get 1 bar. If you have Sprint like me, youre screwed. Im a non smoker. The building is non smoking. There was a lazy guy that smoked in his room. Get off your azz & if you want CANCER lite it up outside A Hole. I always give true honest reviews good or bad. You can follow me on Twitter @cubbieblu72
My reservation number was 65050300 dated 05/28/2016. i was travelling from Buffalo NY to NJ. Upon reaching the hotel, the staff told me that the hotel was overbooked so i have to travel 25 miles to another hotel, which was on my way back. They said that they had tried to contact me but I never received a call, missed call notification, voice message or an email message. They even said that they had overbooked three other customers (as if i will take some solace in that). ..THE HOTEL IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY.
Clean room, friendly staff, and a good location. I reserved 2 Queens but got one bed and one pull out so my friend had to sleep on that. They also never answered the phone number that was supplied on the webpage. Dispite those minor complaints I would stay here again.
So...just tried to check into this place at 630pm, only to be told they have my reservation, but out of the 67 rooms they have...none are available due to lack of house keeping. At least 3 parties have experienced this ahead of me. Wonder if they will make it right?
We love staying at the Microtel in Bath, NY - just to visit or whenever we are going to races at Watkins Glen International! Weve stayed elsewhere in town but after many years this is our favourite. The drive to the Glen, via Hammondsport and Keuka Lake, is incredible for anyone who loves driving sports cars (ok, Corvettes!). And those beautiful scenic vistas! The Glenn Curtiss Museum with its Alexander Graham Bell connection is a must see too. We have always found the Microtel staff helpful, the rooms spotless and the location perfect (close to all that Bath and that beautiful part of upper New York State wine country has to offer). You bet well be back soon!

2022-06-15We stayed one night here on our way from Texas to Boston! We had no idea at first where Bath is. Now Bath is one of our good memories. Staff are very nice, the room and bed were clean. Breakfast was simple, it was a little more than my expectation. I highly recommend this place π

2022-02-13While the staff member that checked us in was friendly, the room was gross. It was very small and one of the pillow cases was filthy. We pulled the blankets back only to find a stain on the sheet that was very disturbing. We did get our room changed but the second one wasnt much better. It smelled of dirty body. The carpets were stained and the shower needed a good scrubbing. I would not recommend staying here.

2021-11-21I lucked out! There were only a couple of rooms left and I was able to get one after driving many hours from NJ. Staff were awesome, kind, friendly, funny, helpful. They made me feel safe and welcome. The room was clean and very comfy. WIFI worked with no issues. Complimentary coffee, etc. was an added bonus. I highly recommend this motel!

2021-09-03Kudos to the staff. We were treated like family as was every other consumer we encountered. Friendly, accommodating and attentive. Clean, quiet room (even next to the elevator). Common areas clean and inviting. Well suited for an overnight stop. Basic bagged breakfast due to pandemic restrictions.

2021-10-11I had a good stay at this hotel - the room was quiet, clean and comfortable, with a clever design and nice decor. Cons: the carpet could have used a shampooing but it wasnt too bad; the room also smelled strongly of cologne. Overall though it was a nice room.

2021-08-15One of our favorite hotel stays ever. The room was exquisitely clean and we felt safe and comfortable even in the age of COVID. Loved the comfy, cushioned window seat in the room too! We would gladly stay here again, it was perfect!
