Positive: The internet pictures. There was nothing pleasant about the experience beyond that. Nobody ever would spend more than $-- on a room in this dump if they saw it in person. The listing is a total trick. Negative: The hotel and the pictures were not the same. Its in a buggy swamp. There was no parking. It took an hour to check in. Speaking English at the front desk was difficult. Luggage cart broken. Room dirty. Stinky not cold AC. Dead bugs on floor in bathroom.
Only good thing is their cheap rates. They barely speak English. Did not provide instructions on how to connect to the free wifi then when asked they had a attiude. Ac smelled horrible when turned on. They set my hotel key cards up to expire 4 days early.i visited for a week and my cards expired on day 2? Vending machines are non existent, even tho the website says they have them. Black mold was found on the bottom of the toilet inmy room. Bedding was stained. You get what you pay for
Most unaccommodating pet policy Ive seen in a hotel, might as well not allow pets if they cant be in the room alone (even in crates, including cats). For multiple night stays, who can do that? Even though they allow pets, I still have to pay for boarding because I cant take pets with me wherever I go for work, to include eating in restaurants. So that rules out me taking my pet with me to a hotel that accepts pets. At the very least, where it says pets allowed put something in there that says pets cant be alone in the room.. if I had not contacted the hotel to ask for another night due to not being able to leave my pet in the car during the day after checkout, I would have been completely screwed over 6 hours from home. Honestly... Just a ridiculous pet policy that will end up screwing someone over eventually.
Positive: Either we were fortunate or there is soundproofing involved but for a Friday night, it was unusually quiet and I had one of the best motel/hotel sleeps in quite a while. Negative: The breakfast room could have provided somewhat more of variety in their fare.
Absolutely sucked at customer service. Too many counter clerks with issues who are just plain rude. Would not even look at my booking confirmation with Expedia and charged us an additional $25/night. Told us if we werent happy with the $ she gave us, please leave NOW! WTHeck?? Sorry I interrupted your seventh smoke break out back with the boys in trucks swilling beer. What was supposed to be a non-smoking room most definitely had an addiction to the green stuff, plus there were burn marks all over the bathroom. Not impressed in the least!
Worst hotel Ive ever stayed at! First to begin walking in with drinks and food we soon learned they dont have mini fridges just ice buckets! So having to keep our items on ice, in a dirty ice bucket. The top floors ice machine was out of order, having to walk down stairs and to the opposite end of the building! After coming back to the room I soon realized how nasty it was, dirty mirrors, dusty, one knob in bathroom was gone for the vent, tub was just about black, shower curtain had a bluish stain, and wasnt cleaned I looked up and there looked to be blood or a reddish food spots on the ceiling and light bulb!Front desk lady who had an attitude like I was an inconvenience made me feel uncomfortable to complain. So turning the tv on I realize there was no guide button so blindly flicking channels to channel trying to find something to fall asleep to I got a smell of musty blankets as if they sat in the wash over night before being dried! While aggravated I figured Id get out of the room to find a vending machine, which in the binder for guest they state they have so wondering the halls for 10minutes I soon learned they was not one vending machine!Saying f it I went up to bed thinking this wasnt even the cheapest hotel it was a fair priced place with good reviews, people must have low standards! While asleep I was woken up at 2:10am by someone in the main parking lot blasting music which went on for a good 20-30minutes!horrible, dirty, bad attitudes, dont stay at this place!
Hotel is overall ok. Lobby simple but clean. Rooms are dated. Carpets and room upholstery dirty. Sylvia night hostess is amazing. And frankly the only reason i would come back is because of her hospitality and great smile. Morning lobby guy, heavy set indian man is clearly temperamental and plays favorite. Some people get extended late check out and others do not. You all know which one i am. Nonetheless customer service from him was not the greates and a micro incisent occured that could have been prevented. While in lobby with my 70yr old mother he made a fuss because we were waiting in lobby2 hts for our airport shuttle who was running quite late. My mother was listening to her prayer youtube channel and he ask to put volume down, which she did, but the fact that it was stilll audible he approacjed me and said, you guys arent suppose to be here and now you making noise that my checkin customers may complain anout. May complain ..really?? Anyway he threatened to call police i, which i challenged...he ended up not but...the nerves....for what 🤔
WOW....whoever responds to these reviews!!!! Shame Shame Shame on you, chastising customers because they are inconvenienced by your strict policies, spelling words wrong and mocking them for it. Where the hell did you learn business ethics? I will NOT be visiting this hotel because of the way you respond to dissatisfied guests, because it sounds like you run this hotel like a slum lord and allow hood rats to dwell. By looks of the chair and tub pictured in these posts shows the amount of attention you spend on cleanliness and appearances. I wonder if the Department of Health should be called? Let me think about that....and wait for your response. Shame Shame Shame....
Total dump. No elevator dingy dirty carpets. It smelled like vomit in the hallway and in my room which was annoying after hauling 3 suitcases up the stairs to the second floor. Left at 4am the next morning with the hall and stairway flooded with marijuana smoke. Terrible.
Great stay. The guy in the morning was very sweet. Room was clean and bed was comfy. They allow dogs and have some truck parking. Go west of the interstate and turn left after the gas station and then turn into driveway after gas station and then park in the back. Check in is in the front of the building
I will definitely be staying here again. The management were super nice even offering to make us a muffin and coffee at 2:30 am so we wouldnt fly on an empty stomach! The bed was really comfy! The room was clean. The hotel was quiet. Great little hotel -close to the airport!
I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Left our room for the day a few minutes before 12:00. As we left, we noticed that there were housekeeping carts all around the floor but didnt see any staff. Noticed that the staff had flipped the security latches on a few of the room doors so they would not close, Im assuming so they could clean them. It also means anyone could walk in and take what they want! We didnt get back to our room until after 10:00 that night to find they never cleaned it. We were told by the front desk that because we didnt leave the room until after 12:00, they would not make up our room.(Uber records from that day show that we were picked up at 12:01). My husband was finally able to pick up some clean towels at the front desk after the staff called the manager. I have never heard of a policy like this before! Also the cleanliness of the place wasnt the greatest, especially the bathroom. Dont want to sound like a complainer but it was pretty gross.
This was my second home last year while I worked in the area. I can’t say enough about this hotel. It was always clean and the staff gladly helped when I ran into issues like accidentally leaving things there over the weekend or working weird hours. Special thanks to Ami who is absolutely wonderful. She does her job well and I enjoyed getting to know her. The morning staff was great too, I just didn’t have the time to get to know them as well.- “the pregnant lady”
Got caught in a storm and needed a room for the night. Front desk staff were so pleasant when I walked in, very welcoming to customers coming in from a storm. The room was clean, sheets and bed were comfortable, nothing extravagant but it met mine and my dogs needs for the night. The only issue I had was people parking their cars outside the windows and blasting music. But I didnt even have to complain because multiple times I heard the front desk staff telling them to turn the music down. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it in a pinch!
Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Room was not clean. There were crumbs on the nightstand, a cup of brown liquid, room key cards, among other things that were left behind and not cleaned by housekeeping. Room smelled of smoke upon check in. We called the front desk to tell them about the smoke smell in the non smoking room to avoid the cleaning fee and they did offer to take a look but the room should never have been bookable in its state. It was 3 am at this point and we declined, only to be woken up with knocking at 8:45. Would avoid this place as the attentional to detail is appallingly not there.
Me and rest of our guys have been here for 7 months. And this hotel has been nothing but to good to us. Ami at front desk is straight forward she is great.. This hotel is clean, quiet, and respectful. And if not after 9am or Ami will come see you to make sure u are curtious to other guest.. This microtel has been a home for some odd months now... definitely a place I would rent or l
This one of the cutest little motels I ever stayed at. The staff was beyond amazing and super polite. Any issues were resolved quickly. The price was just right. And the location to downtown Albany was perfect. Close enough we didnt have far to go, but far enough we werent right in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
The bathroom was not as clean as Id hoped. I bring my own microban since covid19 started but I wish it was cleaner. The linens were clean and smelled freshly bleached. Also. Whats up with the chair? Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great!! Definitely made up for the bathroom. Will be back.
The rooms and amenities live up to the name “micro.” But if you get a good deal on the room, it’s conveniently located to the airport and Albany. Perfect where you just need a place to rest and clean up before moving on. Only two small, thin towels were provided for showering. And the two toilet paper holders were loaded with rolls that each were near the end of the roll, with no backups in sight.
This is a great little hotel. Nice, quiet and clean. The manager, Chris, is very friendly, kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean. The restrooms are nice and clean. Nice and up to date facility. Nice continental breakfast. Comfy beds. Convenient and quiet location. This is a great place to stay! When we go back to NY, we will definitely stay at this Microtel again!
A HORRIBLE hotel. Poor service, noisy rude guests. When I arrived there was food all over the floors in the halls and dead bugs. My hotel room had hair all over the floor and stuck in the hair dryer. I complained when I left and asked for a refund when I returned home. They refused and said I had never made a formal complaint. When I suggested they check their video feed they refused. When I suggested they check with their desk staff - they no longer work there. The cleaning staff? They no longer work there. Really?? In a week suddenly all your staff is gone? I asked for corporate info to complain for several weeks but the manager Chris Steffens wouldnt respond to my emails. He actually told my booking agency to refuse to refund the room. An unprofessional hotel. Poor customer service. Disgusting facilities. I took pictures and forwarded them to the manager. They dont care at all. Never stay at a Microtel!I find it especially interesting that they responded to this post by saying I did not make a formal complaint. Check your video feed!!! Its on camera. Ive been asking for a refund for months and you refuse to respond.
Room was small and outdated for the price as well as dirty, several hairs in the bathroom as well as the bed. I was too exhausted to complain. When I awoke I found the room did not have a hard wired smoke detector as required by federal law, a serious safety infraction. I was running late to work (and the parking lot was not plowed!) so I contacted the customer service department when I arrived home, but they could only offer me discount on a future stay and not refund me. Obviously I was not interested in staying again in the future.
The hotel is a bit hidden but maps gets you there. The lobby was nice looking and there seems to be some recent improvements on exterior such as new sidewalk etc. I had room 208 which was a single queen that was comfortable. Looked as though there was new paint in interior, néw desk chair, and new faucets in bathroom. The room wasnt extremely huge, but it was comfortable. Had an ironing board and small closet, but there wa no fridge or coffee. I didnt try brrakfast. Definitely stay there again.
This isnt really a family oriented hotel. At least judging by my room. The rooms are small, but clean, nicely furnished, and decorated tastefully. The lobby is chic, and caters to a younger, hipper crowd. There are plenty of bars and good restaurants just a couple doors down, and Times Square is just a brisk walk or a short cab ride away. Go out, have fun, come back here to sleep it off, and bring a friend.
The room was a little messy, sheets not ironed, dirt on the sink, stained carpet, stained pillowcase, and the bathroom had some janky appliances. The rooms are definitely a bit on the older side, but its comfortable. The saving grace is the polite staff and a pretty good continental breakfast. You get what you pay for.
Unfriendly check-in. Asked for an upstairs room, she wouldnt accommodate us. Booked a suite. Got a room so small there was barely room for a case. When asking about our suite, I was told a suite is a room with a fridge and microwave, and then made fun of and dismissed. The photos on the website show the cheaper room to have a fridge and microwave, but make sure you read the fineprint, photos can be deceiving. The room smelled stale and the carpet, as little as there was, was stained. They allow pets and charge extra, obviously dont use that money to clean and deodorise the rooms. The bit of fabric to make the bed look fancy was stained. (One can only speculate what it is). This is the only motel that doesnt have coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was average, didnt see anyone checking on dirty tables or refilling. Only positive, the queen bed as no kings at this property was comfortable. We did notice most the upstairs rooms were not occupied, so why was it too much to change our room. I would never stay at this wyndham property again.
Couldnt give it zero. Bed had been sat on, indent on bedspread! Pillows on the floor! Hair and dirty trash in garbage upon walking in! Not our garbage! An unknown substance on the light fixture next to the bed! Only one staff on duty for 12 hours for a fully booked hotel! Not safe!
“Accommodating in a time of need”This hotel accommodated a large group of restoration employees for a lengthy amount of time without hesitation. The staff was very informative and accommodating to our corporate company’s needs. Compared to other hotels, we would say it is above average. The location was convenient for our work requests and the rooms were clean and odorless. Our employees were able to feel at home, away from their homes.Westchester, New York - 2015
Stayed overnight, the staff was extremely kind and welcoming. The accomodations were good for the price, and the utilities in the bathroom were all satisfactory. There is free wifi, always a welcome sight. The breakfast in the morning including muffins and cereal and a few other bread products. There was also a pancake maker, but unfortunately I couldnt stay to use it. 4/5 because I only stayed there for a few hours and can not definitively say it was perfect.
Disgusting Room and overall stay. I took pictures of the mess. There was rust stains on the rack in the backroom, the bathtub mat had purple and black stains on it, the outlet was smashed, the blow dryer had human hair and debris in it, the freezer had dirt frozen into the ice, there was dust on the closet, there was an empty soda bottle behind the curtain, there was a smell when we got there. The hotel acknowledged these issues and offered us a $25 refund - which was basically an insult. The owners of the hotel are totally un-customer service friendly. I am posting pictures on my website as well as facebook for everyone to see. But stay elsewhere - my wife didnt even want to take a shower it was so disgusting. But late at night after a long day cant switch hotels.
STAY AWAY - THIS PLACE IS FILTHY, DISGUSTING. I had them move me to four different rooms, and each of them were equally filthy. They have the absolute poorest quality/cleanliness standards I have ever experienced at a hotel. I know I wasn’t staying at the Marriott but still, for $100/night I shouldn’t have other people’s remnants still lingering....everywhere. Too grossed out to step into any of the hair-infested bathtubs and the restroom sink was just as bad. Hair clogging every dryer, as if NOTHING has been cleaned (or at the very least wiped-down or sanitized) after the previous guests’ stay. Lackluster and flim-flammy owner with a lazy cleaning crew who are more likely to be heard singing loudly in the halls while vacuuming than paying attention to any details of cleanliness....I was just shocked and disgusted. I was on a business trip paid for by my office, otherwise I would have found a different hotel on day one.
Decent Spot that is Dog friendly which is a must in my book. I made my reservation online and didnt have a button to mention a put in the stay.. so when I came in it was initially an issue since the dog section was filled up. the girl at the front desk quickly made some calls and pulled through with an available room.upon going into the room I got a burst of ash/tray aged cigarette smell -even though these are non smoking rooms. I was kinda reluctant to stay in such a heavily foul cigarette smelling room but at this point I wasnt going to make issues -so i opened up the window and blasted the AC. it wasnt 100% but made the best of it even though I didnt want to keep my 10 month old puppy here to inhale it. we arent a smoking kinda family. there is a note in the room saying if someone smokes they will be charged a smoking cleaning fee.. where does that go if the room isnt cleaned of the awful smell?the bedroom had some bug issues.. and oddly and wAy randomly we had a bee just simply appear on our wall.......... at 10:30pm -that wasnt there at all the day and night prior and for the few hours we hung out in here. I thought the Candyman was going to appear. I truly believe all hotel should have a monthly exterminator as a must and requirement!
Unacceptable nose in room due to laundry machine on floor below acknowledged by desk staff. Without any rooms available, they days I had no choice but to check out and find another accommodation for the night at 9pm. Manger offered no compensation. Luckily Expedia called them to ensure I was refunded.Note that this hotel is located on a very busy highway, and is not well maintained.
Ive stayed at Microtels in other cities and have never had any issues. The breakfast is your typical continental breakfast. The room rate is reasonable, especially since I was only staying over night to rest before getting back on the road. My issue is their bedbugs. Silly of me to think that staff were not aware they had bedbugs. Although I was offered another room...no thank you.
Well, they are located behind a gas station. The have good enough parking to accompany guests vehicles. They have a mediocre breakfast in the morning from 7-930am. Rooms are nice and clean to a certain degree but they have random stains on surfaces that could be cleaned, and my rooms chair was broken. I found out the hard way when I sat in it. I fell backwards onto the floor. Seems like a cut corners or clean only whats needed to avoid BBB inspection. But you get what you paid for and for the price this is what I would expect. Front desk isnt always manned. But the front desk people are nice when they are there. They have one washer machine and one dryer that cost 2 dollars each to start. They also have a very tiny fitness center. Their ice machines have mold growing in them. They could use a thorough cleaning.
WORST HOTEL EVER!!! Horrible Service, and Trashiest place I’ve ever seen... ‼️🛑‼️WARNING‼️Don’t waste your time or money They should be shut down, it was so pathetic I couldn’t even stay there, I paid for somewhere else. My overall stay was about a ZERO out of ten. The staff was really rude, not customer friendly at all, when I asked a basic question they responded so rudely then began to speak to one another in a foreign language. How rude was that!
This place definitely lives up to its name, MICRO. The rooms were very small but it was clean and the place was well kept. Found this place through AAA and it is pet friendly. The dog slept well, but I bet he felt a little cramped. Cheap place to stay for a night. Only issue we had was with our room key, the sensor doesnt seem to be that sensitive, so you have to leave the key in the slot a little longer than 1 sec.Free internet and you get breakfast. I got danish and yogurt. No hot chocolate though and no waffles =(The shower was amazingly strong, which I like. The water wasnt as hard as other places weve been to. They had hair dryer, fan, and heat lamp in the bathroom.I would definitely recommend this place though.
Avoid at all costs! I should have known the second I walked into the lobby this would be a nightmare. The entire lobby reeked of cigarettes and instead of even a “hello” I was greeted by a middle aged heavier set woman playing with her tongue ring. Eventually she flatly said “name?” and I responded. I have an emotional support dog (a legitimate one that is actually necessary for me, for who I ALWAYS carry paperwork on). She said there’s a charge for having my dog (I’ve never been charged for having my support animal travel with me) and I told her that I have her paperwork with me proving that I need her during travel and when I set up the reservation I made sure to tell them that I had my ESA with me, nobody said anything to me or even reached out to me to tell me otherwise. She rudely responded with “well they’re not service animals so it doesn’t count”. No, she’s not a service animal- she’s a support animal. I travel on a regular basis for work and not ONCE have I ever been charged, or has anyone given me a hard time. Also not one person told me otherwise when making the appointment or even reached out to me to tell me otherwise after booking so why throw this at me when checking in? I ended up canceling my reservation and going to the Holiday Inn Express. Much better service, no smoke, cleaner hotel and you guessed it; no ESA fee.
Quiet and clean. I opted out out of morning maid services and she never knocked on the door. Awesome.Breakfast is a little sparse with cheese danishs, muffins, bagels and yogurt. If you wanted something hot there is a toaster, no meat or eggs. Drinks are OJ or coffee.Parking lot has holes so dont park in the back. It floods when it rains.
Pros: clean room, quiet place, location-right off highway, airplanes coming in, window seat in sun for cat. Frig & microwave, fast internet. No strong cleaning product/perfume odors or musty/mold! Didnt check out breakfast, not my thing. Only con which might not apply in every case, crack the window and all the cig smoke from people in their cars comes right in.
Location is directly next to RT 87, behind a Mobil gas station. We arrived late at night, parking was difficult but available far away. There is no elevator, so carrying our luggage up to the 2nd floor for our 2 night stay came as a surprise. The other guests gave the feeling more of a halfway house than an business-like feel. Initial opinion of the room was good, although it is small.
Excellent motel, great service, good rates, great free breakfast, great location, great staff from thesales manager to the room maids. It is easy to find, closeto the airport, near plentyof food establesments.I always stay here when Imin the Albany area. I wouldrecommend this Microtel totravelers and friends. 😎
I don’t even need to say anything, just look at how the hotel responds to the bad reviews here by not acknowledging their mistakes and exposing the guests instead.Costumer service was absolutely disgusting and the front desk woman extremely rude.If you are looking for a chill stay this is not the place, they will make your life hell.
Good area nice rooms a little small.me and my fiance stayed cause the air conditioning in the semi broke.so we chose here.1st shift counter people was awsome but the lady that was up there of the night shift. Just plain out rude i dont ever wanna deal with that kind of attitude again. If you dont like your job then maybe find a different one.i have been to alot of different places and have never seen that kind of attitude cause you ask for an extra towel.
Cheap for area. Stinky rooms ,old mattresses, tiny televisions, vending machine, credit cards only. Also got lip for the credit card only machine, told me to go to gas station down the street, at 3 in the morning in the rain, to get a water, offered the guy 3 dollar bills to use his credit card because I dont trust those machines with mine , he said no, there is your sign.
The good: good location for food and supplies if youre walking. rooms are clean + guest laundry. the bad: rooms are small (I think Im in Japan first thing in the morning) there is no place to sit outside (go buy a table micromanagement)or a garbage can anywhere (so my beer cans go in the bushes). the ugly: the internet is downright crap cuts out every 20 minutes a 15 minute YouTube video takes about an hour to watch and forget about Netflix.
I went to draw a bath and the water looked like pool water there was so much chlorine. Theres only one washer and dryer and they werent working when I was there. Do yourself a favor if you have pets and go somewhere that they dont charge you a fee. The WiFi also worked poorly in the second room I was in apparently because it was at the far end of the hotel. I had to go into the lobby to use my tablet.
Horrible experience! Never staying or recommending anyone too.Came in town for business, when I checked in asked for two things that I must have, strong WiFi and TV must have HDMI so I can do my work. I was told yes, then after check in NO HDMI connection for tv, brought it up to front desk..told they will fix it. 3 days passed, not fixed yet so I walked again to front desk..Krishna at the front desk..shocked and replied oh he didnt fixed it yet, then she pause for second and said oh he said he cant fix it cause too much work. So I asked can I use the tv at the lobby so I can use it for 20 mins, she asked this sales mgr ( no qualifications whatsoever) came up start yelling at me and said you cant do anything inappropriate here. I was shocked ....I told him I need it for work you guys assured I have it in my room thats why I checked in. Anyways gave up, since I already paid for week, might as well stay.2 days before I check out, I went to work in the morning when I came back i am missing my nicotine patch and nicotine gum ( almost $200, two Brand new boxes and one open) I looked everywhere, cant find. Ask the guy at the front desk, his respond oh we dont know, we just fix the bed thats it, we no touch anything else then I asked okay, so who take the trash, he responded we no take trash I fix only bedWas really disappointed, had to leave and get a different hotel before I loose my clothes. So next time you are in there, be careful!!
Avoid this place at all costs! Manager Manny Patel and his sidekick Chris accused us via phone of smoking in the room that smelled if piss!! They are crooks and liars! Never again-we havent smoked since 2007! Said a screen was pushed out, never touched window or screen. We WILL dispute this but they r trying to rich off people with this scam!!
Clean room, Friendly Staff, My only negative, we were told you needed your room key to enter the back door, The door lovk was broken and anyone off the street could access the building, Didnt seem to bother the staff at all,...This needs to be fix, as a priority, like now,......
Their plumbing sucks...I shower and water takes 2 hours be for it goes down nastiest Feeling ever.no fridge,no microwave...overall this is a 1 star motel,I give 1 star because I slept here anyway since I was already here...the hall way stinks by the way...and the rooms smells awful thats the complaint from 8 other people we spoke to and this isnt the first time its like this all the time.

2022-06-28I hesitate to give out bad reviews but wow, this place earned it. Came here originally with a two day reservation and ended up staying just one night. The fridge was plugged in but not cold and had something growing in it (and wobbled). The cabinets and desks were all chipped. The vanity/counter in the bathroom was broken and looked like it was held together by tape. And the shower head spray is wider than the stall and the curtain wasnt quite big enough and water ended up all over the floor. To top it off every level of the bed other than the top sheet had weird brown/rusty stains spotted all over it. Slept about 3 hours and checked out as soon as I could in the morning. As well the security door on the side wasnt secured and when I brought it to staff attention they shrugged it off and didnt notice it getting fixed until the following morning, thats not really the kind of safety Id imagine a hotel should strive for.Only redeeming quality was the front desk clerk the morning I left. She was quick, friendly, and got me checked out and refunded without a hassle.

2022-01-10Positive: Location Negative: I got a call from front desk staff at 4:30am accusing me of smoking in my room. She woke me up and was very rude. I told her I am a non smoker and she said maybe I was smoking something else. All other front desk staff was friendly and helpful. No vending

2022-05-30Positive: Spirit of the manager Negative: Dirty bottles in the refrigerator, TV not hooked up, no channel guide in the room, driveway was a wreck
