STAY AWAY and do not buy from these guys. Bought an engine form these guys and was told that it was rebuildable and it is not. I called them and Mitch said there is nothing I could. Now im out of $450. STAY AWAY from these guys.

I wont delete my comment and the fact that you would ask someone to delete a negative comment because you thought it wasnt your business says a lot about you. I am not confusing locations. This is the place I went to and had a terrible experience. I still have the receipt and everything. But its no worries. You have plenty of positive reviews and you also have reviews similar to mine from other people that are just as negative. That is the point of reviews. To better aid people in making a decision on whether or not to bring their business here. So from my experience, I would NEVER go back here for any part or service offered. That is just my review. I am sure you and I both know and have experienced that sometimes all it takes is one bad experience to make you not want to do business at a certain place. Called in to find out what they would give me for my car. It runs well, but it was recently was in an accident and due to external damages it was totalled by the insurance company. Insurance company they called a local salvage yard that said it is worth 1300 to salvage - thats fine.When I called here, they were immediately dismissive, told me theyd give me $175 for the car, and would not listen to anything else that I had to say. Dont waste your time doing business here.

I had the pleasure of scraping a ton of product there and always seem to get grade A service.We have been going for years. All the trucks go there at my company and are in and out quick and very accurate.Great service and greats folks.Very professional and informative.Would go no where else.

I dont usually post reviews but I felt the need to review Mid Island Salvage today. I see that others have commented (one even today!!) that this company rips people off, and unfortunately that has been my experience as well. I do the scrap circuit as a contractor, and I have a rough idea of what everyone is paying for basic things, romex wire, clean and dirty copper tube, and while these guys may quote you high on the phone, your ticket and the weights somehow end up off and far less than they should be. Again, this is not my first time at a yard, but Id hate for others to think their getting a great deal when theyre quoted on the phone, only to get ripped off by the man in the glass box once you get there. And honestly, is a smile or a hello to a new customer to much to ask? The only thing they cant salvage is a good reputation!

Today I went to sell back some metal copper that my 14 year old son with the help of my brother, who is a air-condition technician, took apart from 2 air condition units that was replaced at my home. The weight was 113 and they wanted to pay me on $23 stating that the bin that they weighed it in was 96. So the previous woman that posted that this company rips women off was correct. I told that man, he can keep the $23 dollars and shame on him, for those people that need the money to put food on their table or pay their rent because they may have fallen on hard time. I have never done this before but I wanted to support my son trying to make some extra pocket money and how hard he worked at taking everything apart. The men behind that glass enclosure and work in that place are disgusting human beings.

DONT GO TO THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!Im a long time scrap metal seller. Being a contractor I get all different types. I moved here 8 years ago from NC. From then untill now Ive always went here.They are not really to friendly. Being from NC I figured ok maybe this guys just business, nope wrong. Turns out he just thinks people are something he can walk all over. And by the way if you have a $100.55 recipt he gives you $100. Never any change. Really? So. If 150 people come in a day he keeps the change. Probably pockets $100 right. You think it stays in the register? Lol. Wonder how much more he steals and swindled. WONDER IF HES THE OWNER.?? DONT THINK SO. He does not seem to have an innate, biologically determined urge to attain a goal or satisfy a need..with the exclusion of.... sitting in a bubble all day like a floppy impotent fish, Also probably has no skills to do anything.Except 2 spanish guys, been there for years.Ive never really looked at the recipts to much...except the other day i asked the GUY. (I say guy because in the 8 years I have been going there, hes never even tryed to be cordial or introduce himself like a man. Always short, and treats everyone like a bum drug addict.), What the price of the steel was on my truck and pointed..large A/Cs some chain link fence posts a stove and miscellaneous decent weight stuff...he told me .10 cent per lb...well 3 very heavy loads later. Boilers,cast. Radiators. Some light stuff like stove lawn mowers exc.. Well that last load I know was over 800lbs.. The boiler alone was 500lb I know for a fact.....well a 600lb.recipt/ticket. Was few hundred lbs off @.04 cents a lb.!! Got me looking at all my recipts....sure enough they have been ripping me off..He lied to my face.When I questioned him politely if he remembered me asking the rates before I off loaded. Then asked him to explain the discrepancies on the receipts. And asked him to adjust them .He flew off the handle said he wasnt adjusting nothing told me instantly to never come back. Then I told him he should not lie to the customers. And its awfully foetid how he treats customers that bring his BOSS money..without US you have nothing..not just me.. Hes a pathological prevaricate.Anyway.. Fool me once shame on you,Fool me twice shame on me..I may just be a stupid country boy, but I wouldnt even stop my truck to go turn in 100lb for $4.....$10 sure. .04 cents a lb only covers the gas to get the scrap. Only they make profit? We work for free? I scrap because I like to think its smart. Free money right. Not if your loading up just to pay for gas. Not intelligent.Im just very disappointed in the malicious nature of this company. I thurally recommend you not go there.DONT GO TO THESE RIP OFF ARTISTTheres no difference between anything here steel,iron,sheet,cast, stainless nothing..04 cent scumbag liarsTheres is my 2 cents. It dont matter just use this as a reference. Youll make your own decision.Go off Moffet in bayshore. Way better and fair. John is the boss there and introduced himself to me within the first 30 seconds. Like a man does business. Your word is a bond and handshakes are a contractual ageement.

Stay away from this place, dishonest and sketchy . Bought a used battery from this place and they promised they would take it back if it doesnt fit . I took it back the day after, guy charged me 48$ for piece of crap and gave me store credit even though he promised he would return my money. Also kept a 10$ deposit for my old battery that I never used. Ended up buying a brand new one , go to ace right across but not them.
