Back in February, I was turned down by several other local repair shops to work on my 2016 Mini Cooper Hardtop because it would have been too difficult. I went into Midas and was graciously helped by Brandon and Robert to get my Mini back in working order which included rear brakes/rotors, rear caliper, and an oil change.The service was timely and helpful, so much so that I returned yesterday to have my check engine light diagnosed - O2 sensor needed replacing. The part was ordered the same day, scheduled to get here today around noon. When the part wasnt there in time today, Brandon took it upon himself to drive a full 2 hours to and from Massachusetts to get the part for my car so I wouldnt be stranded for the weekend/work week. I cant thank Robert and Brandon enough as well as the rest of the staff who serviced my, at times difficult to work with, Mini Cooper. They have earned my loyalty and Id recommend to anyone in the area in need of service on their finicky cars! Thanks guys.
Recently, our long trusted auto mechanic retired. We didn’t know where we would go for auto service. A close friend knew we were in need of car service and recommended that we service our Jeep Cherokee at Midas Auto Service at 967 Central Ave Albany, NY.We went there yesterday and spoke to the manager Brandon Munhall. We thought the loud noise the jeep was making was from a faulty muffler. Brandon assured us that he would inspect car and get back to us. Within 10 minutes of us leaving the site, Brandon called us to explain that the loud noise was coming from a damaged flex coil. He also FaceTimed us, not only to show the defective coil but also share his concerns after observing the Jeep had bald tires and finding rear brakes that were in desperate need of replacement.We appreciated the time Brandon took to explain the severity of what he found after Inspecting the Jeep. He went above and beyond to FaceTime us to show us all that needed to be repaired.We picked the Jeep back up this morning, less than 24 hours from when we dropped it off.Brandon went out of his way for us. His staff and him really impressed us. We trust his service and feel thankful we have found such a reliable and trustworthy mechanic and car service center.
I dropped into the Midas on Central ave earlier today for some tire work and was greeted immediately and with great staff. They took care of me immediately and set me up with Netflix and free WIFI. The staff here noticed an issue that I hadnt noticed, nor did my last service station. My rear brakes were shot, after being asked to look at the rear brakes, I can say Im very lucky that the staff took the time to look. My brakes were visibly awful. They had parts on site and took care of me. I cant thank them enough for noticing this huge safety issue. Im pulling a trailer tomorrow. Thank you to all the staff at Midas.
A]ointment times are not honored because according to the manager, appointmentsare set in two hour slots. i.e. 8-10, 10-12 etc. If you go, get an appointment at 8 a.m. and show up FIRST.When I asked why there were several cars ahead of me, I was told they were still working on 8 a.m. appointments.The manager accused me of having an attitude and told me I can go somewhere else. All I did was ask why there were several cars ahead of me. I wanted clarification because I had never dealt with this sort of thing before. I found him to be rude and belligerent.Another worker hung the phone up on an elderly customer who was having difficulty understanding what the worker was explaining to him.Excellent mechanics; however, I will take my business elsewhere which does not overbook their appointments.
If you make an appointment on-line, this location will not honor it even though you will receive an email confirming the appointment. This caused me significant inconvience after adjusting my schedule to arrive for a much needed repair. I have contacted the Midas home office about this. They dont care and will not be doing anything to correct it in the future. They said it is up to the franchisee whether they want to honor those appointments or not. You have to wonder what else Midas will not stand behind. Also, there is currently a 5 star review left just today by Brandon Munhall who is the manager of this location. I have reported it so it may not be viewable when you read this. Based on my very unpleasant experience with him I suspect a number of the recent 5 star reviews were left by his friends or family members. Buyer beware!
The techs and everyone at this location were amazing with my car. They were able to take care of everything in one day all while being flexible with my dad and me discussing it throughout the day. Special shoutout to Brandon for being so accommodating and nice throughout the process.
The customer service was great to deal with and they took care of my car right away. The techs were helpful and courteous. I feel like every part of the process was a good experience. The counter guy went over a couple issues they noticed while doing the alignment all with out being pressuring which is a big plus for me. I would recommend this shop to anyone.
I had a fantastic experience at this location today. Brandon was professional and courteous, and was knowledgeable about my cars needs. I was not offered any services I didnt need, and he made sure I was able to see the issues prior to solution. I really appreciated how they didnt assume I didnt know anything about the car as has happened to me before!
I made an appointment online that was confirmed but the store did not honor it. Wasted my time.Im probably a bit autistic, and in any case I hate talking on the phone, especially with people I dont know, so will avoid it when possible.I dont think its too much to ask that you either take appointments online or not.
Dont bother bringing your car here unless you want to be told you need to spend exorbitant amounts of money for no reason. first off, they didnt want to perform the service I needed which was a radiator flush because I was told I would then need a new water pump ($300 + labor), as the radiator flush would likely cause it to fail. when I asked how long until it would fail I was told could be 5 miles or 500 miles. today I brought my car to Glenmont Family Tire & Auto center for a diagnosis to confirm I needed the part replaced and they just let me know that my water pump is completely fine. they just saved me probably almost $500 that Midas would have happily taken from me, just in case. if youre a woman maybe dont go here by yourself (unless you actually know about cars) since it seems like their intentions are to dupe and take advantage of those who dont know better.
Brandon is one of the rudest managers I ever came across literally poor communication and doesn’t know how to deal with women customers at all .The first time I came in their with my husband he was so respectful. Over a miscommunication that could of been resolved.Don’t waste your money here at all go to Mavis where their going to respect you after you spend ur money with them
Terrible experience and got yelled at in front of other customers for asking a question and then I ended up leaving after that - so humiliated . No one should be treated that way- the guy said that every time I’m in there I bother him and was yelling this at me. They messed up my car last time and believe that it’s probably messed up again- why else would he be so rude to a customer. I did not yell at him even when they messed up my car. Terrible work and they try to get you to do other things on top of what you came in for- battery- air filter- brakes and on and on. Want to ramp up your bill. Beware - bad service.
We were upstate with a family member in the hospital, and, the dreaded engine light came on…..accompanied by our car hesitating like a shy third grader on the first day of school.Brandon, the manager, assessed our situation and got us in immediately. Our simple engine light was not so simple, but Isiah was determined to get it right, and, we able to drive back to Long Island confidently – and, no issues since.I cannot recommend this Midas enough – next trip upstate will include stopping by just so we can thank Brandon and Isaiah in person, again.
If you care about your car and your wallet you will definitely not want to bring your car here. I came here with my car twice in a period of less than one month. My car was overheating and the first time they said it was due to the thermostat, thermostat gasket and needed a cooling system fluid exchange. Less than one month later that same light came back on my dash. So, very unfortunately this happened when I was only about .1 miles from them and I didnt really know of other options. They said this time it was the radiator fan so they replaced the whole thing. So now having spent close to $1200 at this place you might think this nightmare was over. But no, only two weeks later and its evident that I cant use my AC without the car overheating. I feel I was taken advantage of and now I have good trustworthy mechanics elsewhere so I will definitely not go back there. Ok I just had to go back in and edit my review just to express further and hopefully help prevent anyone from having to dealwith them. They are truly the worst and don’t know what they’re doing. I got charged over $800 for a radiator fan that my new awesome mechanics can’t explain the rationale of them replacing. The actual problem with my car was not nearly as severe and they were able to fix it quickly and professionally. Do. Not go here. Find another mechanic. This Midas is the most unprofessional and lazy group I’ve ever seen that can’t even do their job right. Just don’t go here if you don’t want to get scammed.
Brandon was extremely helpful and kept me informed through the process. Very quick and even took the truck in a day earlier than previously discussed. High quality work, upfront and fair pricing. After moving to upstate NY from the beaches in DE, I knew I wanted new tires to handle the winters up here. Brandon was informative and helpful through the process. They were quick, honest and efficient. They even found that my brake pads were completely dead, and then proceeded to show me after I was a bit skeptical. They definitely do their job right here. I would recommend.
This location was amazing. Brandon was the one who helped me, they did the oil change and even noticed the inspection was coming up and offered to do that as well while I was there which I greatly appreciated bc I had to take the time off work to go. He even went the extra mile to take my old registration off the windshield and put the new one on neatly for me. I was in and out in record time. I’m glad I went to them and I feel comfortable with their professionalism and service to go back in future!
Have been going here since moving to the area last year and have been happy with the service on my car. Since I drive quite a bit for work Ive been servicing my car every 2.5-3 months.Theyre pretty transparent on what needs to be done, usually just following the service schedule of your vehicle (barring finding something needing attention on inspection), and prices are fair. No issues yet with upselling on unneeded services thats a usual concern when going to new mechanic shops. Only a tiny hiccup once when they forgot to put my wheel lock key back in the car but called me within 15 minutes so no issue there.
Went in for an oil change and inspection two weeks ago and unfortunately my rear windshield wiper arm broke because it was rusted. Brandon was very helpful in when it came to the replacement and gave me frequent updates on the status of the new arm as it had to be shipped. I would definitely recommend.
Utilized Midas for years for any of my cars. Used this store once and I will honestly never stop at another midas location ever again. Poor poor management from the “ store manager “ and my tires didn’t even get rotated properly. Will 100% spend the extra money elsewhere for the better customer service.

Ive been using this Midas for 10 years now, and I have a pleasant experience every time I bring my car in for anything. The store manager, Brandon, is personable and easy to work with, and the crew is amazing! Ive had some pretty tricky repairs on my Mini, so sometimes the entire garage gets involved. Theyre all very professional, and Im confident theyll do a great job. Ill be a customer of theirs for the next 10 years.
They dont care about saving the customer any money, they would rather take out a whole system than pinpoint the exact problem and say I wont give you a warranty unless you let us change the whole system. So I took my car went to another mechanic who did it for less than half the outrageous price they told me. Dont trust their word, you can find better places.
By far the best Midas in Albany! My second time here -- super quick service, honest feedback on my car, helpful and kind employees, and nice waiting area to relax while the work is done!Will be sure to return for my next oil change and if I ever needed my car looked at. Definitely recommend!
Do not use Midas at 967 Central Ave. The absolute worst bunch I’ve had the misfortune to deal with. They are rude, cut corners with their work and get nasty when they are called out on it. Their boss was even involved and they were still horrible. I have VIP and they never bothered to ask nor offered a ride share because they didn’t like being called out. Will never go here again, I’m surprised it hasn’t been closed down. If zero stars was an option, that is what they would get.
I love this Midas!!! I drive 30 minutes to bring my jeep here. Todd and Brandon have always gone above and beyond to help me out, giving me the best deals and the best options for any and all repairs. Great work and great guys right here! I cant thank them enough for all theyve done for me!
Honest and fair employees who attempt to do right by their customers! I was having trouble with my exhaust system and needed assistance to fix it. I appreciate that I was able to take a look at the exhaust while the vehicle was up in the air to see what needed to be fixed (because not every place lets you do this!) and they gave me their best advice and a few different opinions for how to best go about fixing the issues.
Great service at Midas during last visit. In general they are easy to work with, fair and I appreciate the rundown on my car without any false pressure being applied to make me get work done. Today I thought I needed a tire replaced, but they checked and it just needed a simple repair. They even readjusted a minor cosmetic issue I had with my bumper without being asked. That was so nice of them.
The worst experience everI have a 2018 Jeep renegade 1.4 turboWanted a oil change I know the basic synthetic oil change is 60$ and I usually go to the Midas up the road and get it with a discount for 50$. They at this store drain all my oil and then come in demanding it needs a euro oil change that is 109$ and the discounts do not apply. After fighting with the manager he finally calls the other Midas and said he can give me 40 off the 109 I only said ok because I wanted out of there.
Had a great experience at Midas. They were reasonably priced and efficient. Brandon was especially helpful and communicated clearly. I didnt feel any pressure to purchase any of the optional services. Ive noticed and appreciated this during other visits to Midas as well which unfortunately hasnt been the norm in my experiences.
I went for inspection...with pre scheduled appointment the guy told me its 21 dollars pass or fail after waiting for a little while the guy calls me and he is like cant do the inspection due to my tinted windows. Im greatful he gave me the option to leave before failing me for the Tint which he could of done. much respect
Great service. I went in to get a quote on my custom exhaust job. They were able to take me in at the spot and even gave me a ride home while they are working on the car. The car was ready in 1.5 hours and they came to my driveway to pick me up. Very quick turnaround, and exeptional service by Brendon and Todd.They are up front, and don’t overcharge you from the original quote, like many car mechanics do.
I’ve been going to this Midas location for years. I got a flat tire and called to see if they’d be able to put a new tire on. The person I spoke with said yes, come on up, so I did. When I arrived, less than 10 minutes later, I was told they couldn’t do it. I’m annoyed with the misinformation and waste of time.
Dont let them do a courtesy check on your vehicle! They literally take your car apart and convince you theres a lot that needs done (NEVER believe them without second opinions) when all you came there for was a small repair. Dont be afraid to haggle them down on their prices. Also the staff does not wear masks, they will be reported to NY state!
Great service! I went there earlier in the morning without an appointment because I accidentally scheduled at another Midas. They were still willing to take my car! Brandon and the entire team at Midas are awesome!! I just dropped my car off then left and Brandon even called me to let me know my oil change was completed!
Just a couple days ago I was in Midas located at 967 Central Ave. I went there for an oil change which turned into me purchasing 2 front tires which I was already somewhat aware that I needed. My appointment was scheduled for 5:30pm and the shop closes at 6pm. Due to mishaps on my part two of the workers had to stay 2hrs+ longer than they had planned. Even though Lou and Garrett, the men who took care of my vehicle had to stay way beyond closing they were very professional and courteous. They helped make a bad situation bearable. I spent more money than I planned for, yet, immediately after driving with my two new front tires I noticed a big difference in my vehicles handling. Fortunately, the next day I had to drive quite a distance and the weather got worse the longer I was on the road. So luckily I was advised to get the tires or who knows. Safety first! So thank you to Lou and Garrett along with the advice of your manager Gary for your professionalism and helpfulness. Job well done!!!Sincerely Mrs. Scott
What a miserable experience.I brought my 2016 Nissan Rogue SV in for a state inspection and oil change. The person I met at the counter glanced out at my car and said he may need to check what oil it takes, and gestured to a sign that listed the cost for the (more expensive) synthetic oil change service.Maybe the fact that they immediately drained the oil after bringing the car into the bay should have been a red flag. After a few minutes another gentleman (who I learned was the manager, Brandon) brought me in to review things. The inspection was fine. When he showed me the prospective price for the oil change I asked whether the price was for synthetic, which he confirmed.I said my understanding was that even though synthetic was recommended, it could also take conventional (which would have cost less). But he was emphatic that the car could only take synthetic, pointing to a label under the hood that specified 0W-20. He said he goes by “what is on the car.”Knowing what was in the manual, I asked why that would be different than what the manual specified. He said I could “call the dealership” if I wanted to; I asked whether they had already drained the oil which they confirmed. At one point he called loudly to his technician instructing him to leave the car while I went and called the dealership (which surely he knew wasn’t reasonable).I did step out to grab my phone to bring it over so we could review the online manual together. I told him I wasn’t trying to be antagonistic and that I wasn’t accusing him of lying, but I wanted to reconcile what he was saying with what was in the manual.He said he didn’t always trust what was online (though it was exactly the same as the print version). I asked if he preferred to see the print manual, then, so we got that out of the car. I asked if we could at least agree that this was the correct manual for this car but he said he “didn’t know” what the car came with. (The manual said “2016 Nissan Rogue”.) After some searching, he pointed to a descriptive section that displayed a logo for SAE 0W-20. But I directed him additionally to the chapter with the fluids and capacities table, which also listed conventional 5W-30 as an acceptable alternative which “may be used and meets all specifications and requirements necessary.”In the end, he downright refused to put conventional in it, saying he didn’t want to be liable for “blowing the engine,” which sounded absurd by now. But of course the oil had already been drained so I felt cornered. He asked whether I wanted him to put the manual back or whether I wanted to hold on to it “in case [I’d] like to read it.” I found out afterwards he was the manager so I apparently didn’t have a point of escalation at this location.I might have felt differently if he had tried to give me a technical or even a policy justification, but this nasty, bullying behavior (in particular trying to call me out in front of his staff) was uncalled for.When it comes to oil changes, I take my car to a shop for convenience. But based on this experience I would be better off going back to doing it myself (as I’ve done on several cars before this). I started coming to this location a couple years back because I liked the service from another gentleman who worked there at the time, but I’m not going to return. (I will also be sending this feedback directly to Midas.)
Disappointed w/ Midas . Came in to get a broken tailpipe repaired or replaced and left paying $800 for a Fuel Pump. Service and Staff was terrible . Dont have anything good to say about Midas and will express to anyone who listens to take your vehicle somewhere for service. No Stars . Michael A Grady
I came a few days ago for an oil leakage which turned out not to be that at all. My battery had died and Midas promptly changed it for me. My problem is that I was told that my alternator was the problem and was what was gonna keep killing my battery. My warranty company wouldnt allow my alternator to be changed because this Midas only offers a 90 day warranty on their alternators (which cant be helped) so i went to Jeep to get an extended warranty on it. When I got there, they had to run their own diagnosis and it came back saying nothing was wrong with my alternator. Couldve saved $170...Edit: I just got a call from Midas and am very satisfied with the customer service. Although the diagnostic fee was from Jeep, I was offered mechanic services up to $220 for my troubles which is more than generous. Im glad I can continue getting work on my car done here.
Great service—even greater people! Had an appointment to change my battery out, but couldn’t start the car up to get her there. I called the store to move my appointment back and Brandon offered to come and jump start it. Both, Todd (manager) and Brandon, are very nice guys!
Ive never had to seek a second opinion with the care of my Range because of the impeccable job Midas provides each and every time. They are honest and take the time to explain the root of the issue. I appreciate their patience. Having a functioning vehicle during this pandemic is essential and Im happy they were open and to available to assit.
Updated Review: New staff member (for me), Brandon, is very friendly and welcoming. He should be a teacher with the ease at which he explains and shows where the problem areas are on your car, without coming off as arrogant. I came out with more knowledge about my car than when I went in, and I have been returning for a few years now. The midas team here cares about your safety, and I will continue to recommend them. I have kept my older review for comparison.Friendly staff and great service. Went to Midas for my first and second oil changes and will continue to go here for all the rest. Couldnt ask for better as they definitely watch out for you (they caught my expired inspection and upon request, helped me get it up-to-date). Keep up the good work guys.
I really appreciate the time that Brandon, Alex, Jim and Harry took to look at my Tahoe Chevy 2007 and all the great feedback I received. Especially the way Brandon cared about the SAFETY OF MY FAMILY FIRST. I thought the price was reasonable. They are very fast and dont have you waiting at all. He schedule me right away it was perfect.
I was sent here from another Midas and I am so glad I did. Todd from this location was amazing and got the job done for me when another location said they couldn’t and tried pushing me to another tire company. Had an unexpected and unfortunate incident as we pumped the wrong gas into our car. Took hours to get other services including triple a so when we took it to Midas we were relieved and felt extremely comfortable that they knew what they were doing and had been super friendly, making the incident seem not as bad. Thanks again!
Been here a few times now and I must say besides the place is spotless clean including the bathroom I met a service manager Brandon and I can say that his price and professionalism was by far the best I’ve dealt with in a long time. I just sent my mother there and she was very impressed as well. Keep up the great work and convenience, I will be back for sure. I’m leaving this review for the store at 926 Central Ave across from McDonalds. Thanks Again Brandon and crew!
Stopped in to get my brakes checked not knowing what was wrong exactly. These guys got me in fast and got it all taken care of! Made the best of a bad situation and I will definitely be back next time I need something looked at! The guys at Central Ave are the best. Had a great experience here.
Staff are great, we use them for all of our fleets repairs.Jim is also a great mechanic and always makes sure the work is done properly, answers our questions and provides great advice to keep our fleet running, and we are a construction company so we abuse our vehicles and they take great care in making sure we can abuse them another day!
Once again outstanding customer service from the staff. Brandon helped me the last few times I’ve been there and from customer service, patience, and knowledge he has been outstanding. Definitely has kept me coming back whenever I have an issue. Additionally 1 year later still coming because they always help in a timely fashion and are very knowledgeable
A busy place to be before a snow storm, but the staff hussled and got people in and out as efficiently as reasonably possible. Got my tire rotation and wiper blades done within the allotted time, if not sooner. I was impressed and pleased with the pricing as well. Im sure that Ill be back in the future for anything else that I need done.
Filed a formal complaint with Better Business Bureau and New York State.On 3/4/2021 (Thursday) at 11 am, I brought my car to the Midas location on 967 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205 for emission inspection and oil change. Initially, the car mechanic who performed the inspection informed me that everything was good with the car. During this time, I heard that the staff Brandon Munhall who was working at the front desk was questioning the car mechanic sarcastically, are you really going to let this car pass? A little while after, Brandon Munhall stated my tires need to be changed and provided a quote for the repairs. I found the quote to be overpriced and therefore declined. He continued to pressure me to make the repairs at this location. Afterwards, at checkout, another staff informed me that my car failed the safety inspection. Later that night, I was reading through the documentation provided by the location and saw that the vehicle inspection report states the failed safety item is Tires and Wheel Fasteners. Therefore, I went back and read the documentation provided by Midas named Visual Courtesy Inspection which outlines the details about the inspection. Under the Tread Depth section, it states LF 6/32, RF 4/32, LR 10/32, RR 4/32. I then looked up the New York State Vehicle Safety/Emissions Inspection Program requirements, and under the section Tires, it states Tread depth - must be at least 2/32 inch when measured in two adjacent major tread grooves showing the most wear. The Visual Courtesy Inspection document did not mention any other comments regarding the tires. I found the discrepancy odd and therefore called Midas the next morning (3/5/2021) asking for further explanation. Brandon Munhall responded to the phone call. When asked about the discrepancy, he states that the first car mechanic made a mistake and insisted that my car tires did not meet the New York State requirements and are 2/32. He then told me I can take my car to another location if I would like. During the same day (3/5/2021), I took my car to another Midas on 1722 Central Ave, Albany, NY, 12205. They did a re-inspection and verified that my tire tread depths are LF 5/32, RF 4/32, RR 5/32, LR 9/32, and noted no irregular tire wear. My car passed the inspection at this separate location.
Just received a call from my gf whom attended her inspection appointment and was told they are backed up and that she would fail anyway because of tints without even taking a tint meter to it, then proceeded to claim her current inspection was obtained illegally. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. They are lucky I wasnt there.
This was an awful experience. Not only were they rude and condescending - the car came out worse then when we left it! The bill was roughly 2000 dollars for all that was wrong with the car and pushed to make us pay. They left tools in our car as well. People were not wearing masks either.
I accidentally put the wrong gas in my car( you can stop laughing now) so I had AAA tow me to this shop. The staff was very friendly and responsive, I needed to travel back home- a three hour plus ride. They got the job done, explained the procedure. I was not overcharged or my situation taken advantage of. Thanks again for the quality care and your consideration!!
I got full service oil change and I needed air in my tires, putting air in the tires was supposed to be apart of the service. But instead of putting air in the tires they told me the tpms was broken and it was gonna cost 90$ per tire to fix. I later put air in the tire and it was fine. Make me wonder what else I was lied to about.
I always get great exceptional service when I go 967 Central ave Albany,NYs location. Brandon is always a pleasure to see and work with. He is professional,respectful and explaining things that need to be done, with no pressure or over aggressiveness. Service at this location is always a pleasure thank you!
The shop was very clean including the bathroom. I was promptly greeted by a customer service rep and he was very knowledgeable. The service tech was courteous and professional. I watched the tech work on my vehicle and could tell he was thorough in his job. I would definitely go back for future repairs.
Service was scheduled to take hour and a half and it took over three hours. The service was slow and many times nobody was working on the car. When asked, the explanation was they had more cars in service...still nobody was working on any of the cars. As a former Mercedes Benz Customer Service worker I know how a client should be serviced, in particular when the car was inspected in March. In general, very slow service which we felt we did not need since no real assessment was provided...After talking to the Manager I have been asked to review the report provided so that I learn something...
All the staff are very friendly and of great service attitude. (You have to get their sense of humor though.) Any problems, solutions and prices were professionally communicated.Just a reminder on appointment - better call the store to schedule if one doesnt want to wait for long. The online appointment service doesnt set the exact time of appointment.
I took my car to this location because I previously took my car there for a muffler they took the muffler off my car then called me saying they can’t find a muffler for my car and I have to come get my car or they would charge me storage so I pick up my car without a muffler at all 5 months later I go back to the same location 976 central avenue to see if they can find a muffler I also needed an alternator at this time they do a diagnostic on my car and confirm that I need an alternator ok they do the work I pick up my car I didn’t make it home they put an ALTERNATOR in my car that belongs to BUICK and I have a Mitsubishi sport it caused more damage and they got really indignant and refused to right there wrong this location is a scam and rip off don’t trust the old guy Jim or his co conspirator the younger guy with big blue eye I ended at 1722 central ave they found the problem and took really good care of my car concerns
Brandon answers the phone, bad attitude.....I’m asking questions over the phone, don’t have time make me come in like they going to take care of the problem. I show up, tells me he has cars up being worked on (why make me come in then?) then tells me come in 4:30pm makes a appointment for me I said ok to then tell me I need to wait for the walkins to get taken care of first before getting to mines witch I made a appointment for! I would not recommend this ( Midas!!! )
Great customer service! Fast and friendly, and doesnt overcharge customers. Highly recommend!!Update: I used their services again and this time they were still friendly but the service was not good. My seltbelt and airbag light came on as soon as the car was return and they didnt screw the fuse box cover back on. The cover fell off while I was driving. I had to screw it back on when I got home.
These folks are phenomenal.Ive gone here three times for my 08 van and theyre always 100% friendly and professional.Small details: the office and bathroom here have been really clean every visit. The gentleman at the desk learned that I like coffee after my first visit, and now he makes a fresh pot before I get there. AWESOME.More importantly, they do a seriously good job. They show you whats up with your car before they repair/bill you (which I thought was standard until the folks at Monroes didnt do that when I tried them). Also, this last time I was surprised by a cracked sway bar. I transferred my money around, but it took longer than I thought. These guys jumped through an outlandish number of hoops to help me out. I mean, they couponed out changing a directional light, stayed late to help me fill out a Midas credit card(which I decided against since I wanted to just pay outright), and then even let me leave my van at the garage overnight so I could pick it up after work. The whole process could have been a nightmare, but they were super patient, understanding, and accommodating.Definitely would and do recommend this place to my friends. Great business run by great human beings.
I can’t even explain how great my experience was here today, just know that I’m never going anywhere else for my car services. Let me start off by saying that I was due for a car inspection, went to another car shop and was given a grand total of $1300 for what “needed” to be done in order to pass my inspection. I was told I needed Brake pads and front rotors most importantly plus a few other things. Went to Midas and I worked with Todd Laviolette today, to my surprise I didn’t need any of that. I just needed a new windshield wiper to pass inspection. My brakes and rotors were practically new. I couldn’t believe it! my car made squeaks when I started it, my belt was too tight; he loosened the belt for me free of charge. paid for what I needed to pay for today in order to get a passed inspection sticker and I was on my way. The mechanics were wonderful and cared about their job. Wonderful experience here I truly recommend this car shop to anyone. Give Todd Laviolette a raise lol.
On April 19, I went in to have my tires rotated and a wheel alignment check. I knew that I also needed an oil change and was planning to go to the dealer for this. As they were doing the rotation, Brandon brought to my attention my much needed oil and filter change and offered to do the change for me. At first I said no, because I had plans to take it to the dealer, but then changed my mind. I was glad that they told me about it and knew that it was not an up-sale since I knew I had to get it done anyway. I am so happy that they were proactive and saved me the time of taking it someplace else. Brandon was quite helpful and I will definitely go back to Midas on Central Ave
After a very frustrating week of dealing with the manager at the Saratoga Midas in regards to a flat tire, I had the pleasure of working with Brandon today who was filling in. After a week of being told tires were ordered and werent and then tires not being shipped in time Brandon took the initiative to call other local Midas shops, have one of the Saratoga mechanics meet halfway with another mechanic to get the tires I needed and then have them put on all within two hours of my first meeting him. I will be now using the Midas in Albany as the customer service is first along with quality.

Then the manager tried blaming me saying I didn’t say anything about it. THAYS YOUR JOB!!! I would never do business again with them
After going to Glenville Midas for so long and dealing with Todd (the manager) I was so upset that he had left that location. But I was happy to know he wasn’t too far off and had moved to the current central ave location! Just went and got brakes and oil change and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service! Been going here for nearly a year now for a oil change since I was in college. Made a appointment which usually takes around 30-40 minutes they tell me every time, but this time it took 2 and half hours almost 3 just for a simply oil change. Two more people came in after me and didnt even schedule an appointment, and left within a half hour so that tells me that there customer service is horrible. Then they quoted me a tire price which was extremely high, while taking my tires off at the same time, like I was going to accept there offer at that very moment for a almost 600 dollar tire replacement which I didnt need until it really starts snowing. I felt like cursing these people out at this point, but I kept calm and proceeded to head out after they finished. I felt so disrespected and will not be returning to this location ever again.
Today my goal was to get my New York Inspection done ASAP. After several attempts to do so at other shops that told me a later date or hours to wait I finally arrived at the Midas garage on Central Ave. Before I even made it to the door I was promptly greeted by Gary. He told me he could get the truck in immediately. Upon inspection I was greeted by Randy who invited me inside the shop to meet the mechanic who I was working on my truck. George did an expert job. And Lou inside the office was honest and courteous to everyone that came in. Id highly recommend choosing this shop. And I will return for any and all repairs in the future.

I had a great experience getting an oil change and state inspection at Midas. It was so convenient that I could drop in and drop my car off; Shane, the manager, is really friendly and charismatic, and I felt comfortable with their shop despite that Id never been before. I had lunch and went shopping in the vicinity, and despite that they were pretty busy the afternoon I came in, my car was finished 30 minutes earlier than Shane had ballparked for me. (He called me to let me know I could pick up my car whenever I was ready).I was really impressed by Shane and Dave-- they make taking care of your car and adulting easier. :)
Amazing! through thick and thin these guys helped me with everything I needed, they had no problem waiting for me to run for cash to pay, they helped me when my card was declined, and I was talking to a person who I knew cared about my experience with Midas. Always a pleasant experience ..... The staff are friendly and take the time to show me any issues or problems that my vehicle is having. The service is great and Im usually out of there in less than hour. Gary has taken good care of me and I will continue to keep coming here for all my Maintainence on my vehicles. I went to Midas after an independent mechanic openly lied to me about the condition of my car. The mechanics at Midas were very honest and straight forward and told me my car was in a great condition. I really recommend this place. The quality of the service is excellent as well as the quality of the personnel there.

This is the best service Ive had for my car BY FAR. I wouldnt want anyone else working on my car. I went in for an oil change but i ended up needed new tires BAD which i was unaware of. They truly cared about my safety. They brought me into the shop and showed me my tires and my control arm, and they showed me why they were worn down (they werent just bullshitting me for more money..which most places do). They got my oil changed, four new tires, new wiper blades, and my inspection in the same day! They also brought me to UAlbany in time for my class so that I could leave my car there. Wonderful experience. I would recommend this midas to everyone! Thank you especially to Lou who was extremely generous and made the experience great. I wish I knew the others names...but all of them were great!
Went for my inspection on a Saturday expecting a lengthy wait. They got me in and out in less than an hour, and were really courteous. Several other customers arrived while I waited, all with different problems, and the employees all seemed genuinely helpful. Will definitely return.
Had a flat tire on the way to Montreal and stopped in here to get it fixed. Lou did a full inspection of the car and made some recommendations. Lou explained everything in great detail and answered my questions. I did take a few of his maintenance suggestions, but what I liked most of all is that I did not in any way feel obliged to do anything I didnt want. Lou was fair and honest and I appreciate that. Great experience.
8/18/2016 Excellent Service as usual. They provided a more cost effect measure for my car by really going over my car with a fine tooth comb and not a 1 minute quickly assessment. This is why you come to Midas. Real knowledgeable mechanics, honest mechanics that value their repeat customers and provide the highest service possible to keep you on the road and happy with your car. Its nice to see a familiar face of your mechanic and get that hometown feel as you are greeted. Always a pleasure to see the guys and they make bad situations better.
It’s hard trusting or finding a reputable auto mechanic or repair shop without being taking advantage or overcharged. The manager at this Location has more than 30 years of experience and work history with Midas. The mechanic who worked on my truck, as more than 20 years of experience. I will refer this location to my family and friends, and anyone else that I know needs work on their vehicle. I’m sure I will return for regular maintenance with my other cars as well.
My trip to Midas was an unexpected emergency. My exhaust pipe separated and was dragging on the pavement. Lou was able to help me immediately. He actually showed me what had happened to my vehicle, (Something that is rare these days.), and provide me with a friendly, reasonable written estimate for the repair. I have four vehicles and go to service shops on a regular basis. Lou treated me like a family member rather than a customer. I cant remember when I was treated better by a repair shop! Lou and his staff are top notch in my book. I TRUST my car to a true professional!
They put the wrong size tires on my car & then refused to replace them! Then I got new brakes on my car & 3 months later they are grinding bad! DO NOT GO HERE! The assistant manager also found me on facebook after bringing my car there to hit on me. Unprofessional & ruined my car!
I recently visited this Midas for new snow tires, because of our winter season. I was treated kindly from start to finish by all of the employees and was offered coffee during my wait. The snow tires work great and I got them for a great price. I will definitely return to this Midas for further work on my car.
The staff were incredibly friendly and seemed knowledgeable on oil changes and tire rotations. I paid for the services and left, just to go on Central Ave and have all of the lug nuts on one of my tires come off. I had to pull into the armory lot and I spent the next 2.5 hours with my aunt and uncle as they fixed the tire and suspension. I plan to call tomorrow morning for a full refund, as well as a refund for the lug nuts we had to buy from Advanced Auto. I will not be returning to Midas. I could have been seriously hurt or have hurt someone else.
Gary, Lou and rest of the guys were extremely courteous and helpful during my visit. My car was making a lot of rattling noises (thought the bottom was dropping out!) and the guys knew exactly what was wrong and had it fixed in no time. I will be returning and will definitely recommend this shop to friends and family. Thanks again guys!
I went to this Midas because my brother told me about this place and how great the people are here. Assistant Manager Lou Hildebrandt did an outstanding job. His crew was outstanding also. I went for a car inspection, and AC problem. Note: My son drives this car, and he is in college. I took my car on 20 Sep 2016 to the Midas on 967 Central Ave in Albany NY 12205. Then did there job right. They found the left front coil spring broken. Thank god they found it during the inspection. The broken coil spring could cause a blow out of my tire, and heaven know what could of happen after that. I was so grateful they caught the problem before something went wrong. Thank God :) Im a single parent, and my son is the only one I have. He drive this car , and I drive my truck. When my car as almost done, I had a chat with the store manger. I only remember is first name only, and its Harry. I informed him that Lou, and his crew are doing a great job. I let him know that I had served, and retired fro the U.S. Army. Harry has one of his son in the Military. How great that talk was. I feel the price was great also. I thank both Mr. Harry (Manager), and Lou (Assistant Manager) for the great service I had received. David Soberos customer service was outstanding. Unlike the manger, David was very kind and spoke to me as if he actually cares about my car being repaired properly. David saw that I was clearly upset after dealing with the manager to he point where I was ready to leave but he took over and resolved the issue and worked with me to guarantee customer satisfaction which I really appreciated especially since the manager had been extremely rude and dismissive. If you ask me, I feel like Davids problem-solving and customer service skills were amazing and he should actually be a manager because he really held himself up the the expectation to get the job done as a business but to also satisfy the customer as well. Whenever I come back to Midas David is the only person I want to speak to because I know he will just the job done in a pleasant and polite manner. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty. Their mission was to make sure I left a happy and satisfied customer, at which they successfully did. Lou (manager) calling all around town to get the parts I needed, and Pat the technician, took the time to show and explain to me what issues I had going on with the car. But, most importantly they didnt force nor pressure me to have these additional services done. I forgot to mention that these guys stayed after hours to make sure my car was fixed. I want to thank Lou, Pat and the young man who drove to pick up the parts. TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!!!
I used to go to MIDAS for everything until that day came. My Corollas break was loose and needed to press hard to stop the vehicle but it was inspected and passed with the break issue. Since, I had the break issue, I took it there and asked them to check, they gave me an estimate of around $300 to change the break pad and rotor. I agreed and did that but the day I drove back the vehicle from them, I felt its still loose. When I took it back to them, I got a lot of bad behavior from the manager. That day was a Saturday and busy for them which I can understand , if they had asked me to come back on a different day or just keep the car to check later , it was perfectly okay instead they just did not acknowledge the issue and said there is no issue with it.So, I ended up paying $300 bucks for nothing. The manager was very rude and had do not care attitude. I would never visit them again for sure.
I experienced the worst customer service EVER(Brandon) proceeds to tell me he will not honor the same price for the same work done by the same company then... Proceeds to tell me and my girlfriend to go to that other midas. Ended up taking our business elsewhere. Negative star in my opinion
Ive been going to Midas for the last 6 or 7 years now for several different vehicles. I can say that overall Midas is a great place to bring your car to- I currently have a 2011 Mini Cooper and Mini always recommends going to their dealership for servicing due Minis unique build. Ive only been a few times for large jobs. I always bring my car to Midas for oil changes, inspections, and regular maintenance. Staff are friendly and always take the time to let me know whats going on with my car. They are not pushy, but do let me know of any future problems that may be due for repair down the road & will visually show me, instead of sending me on my way with a hefty invoice & no information, which Keeler Mini has often done in the past. Midas also offers competitive prices and always has coupons available on their website. I was just there yesterday for an annual NYS car inspection and ended up only paying $10.50 with a 50% off coupon! Overall, great place to bring any vehicle for routine maintenance & repairs! Trustworthy and knowledgeable staff & they offer competitive prices. Ill continue to use Midas for my Mini & other vehicles in the future. Best, Nicole
Came in for regular preventive maintenance ,no check engine light everything perfectly working like a well tuned machine than a couple of days lata all the lights are on an cylinder 6 is misfiring this is the same thing they just replaced for 545.oo now I still have to pay money to get the engine light off after your mechanic failed to do his job an its not they fault it the same exact part of the car you was working on than the manager said said he can refuse me service because I was talking very unprofessional I would never come here again or recommend poor service nothing but a bunch of crooks
I was being told that my rear breaks have some serious issues and they need to be replaced ASAP. Then I thought I should have second opinion about it and then after reading reviews about this place,I decided to take second opinion from here and guess what!!! I was not wrong. Lou guided me through the problem (which was not there in the beginning!!) very efficiently. I highly recommend this place for auto repair. Great job by Lou!!
I got my standard oil change......yet I got more then I ever expected and not in a good way.I left my car there immediately and went to home depot to pick up something for 10 minutes. I came back and they were testing one of my tires, havent even started to change my oil yet....I went there for just a damn oil change. Then they stripped my lug nuts from that tire which made getting an simple oil change a 2 hour process.Ive been to this location countless times and Ive never saw them preform tire testing without my consent (I normally stay and watch everything). Had I known that this was standard procedure (as it was told to me by an on site supervisor) I would have either; one decline the offer or two just went Monroe in Latham, NY to be frank.
Guys were polite and helped me fix my brakes. I had installed aftermarket calipers that were not working even after bleeding them and my e brake was not holding. They explained and showed how the aftermarket calipers were defective and had a distributor drop off oem calipers and installed them.
In have used this Midas for the last 20 years. As always Gary, the manager, took care of everything I needed . I do the stuff I need right away and budget for the things that can wait. Fair prices and great service. If you are going anywhere else you might want to change your mind.
This place sucks, dont go here for anything. A bunch of power hungry losers who think they are bosses. No wonder the parking lot is always empty.I parked in their parking lot to go grab my contacts from Taras Optical and was going there for an oil change after.Some guy with glasses comes storming out yelling at me saying I cant park there or he will have me towed. Told him I was there to grab contacts and then get an oil change and he said I dont care get off the property of we will tow youTook me less than 3 minutes to grab my contacts so its really absurd that he would treat me like this when I was coming there to do business. Will never go to any Midas if these are the kinds of people they hire.

2022-02-05This Midas is my go-to place when my car is being dramatic. I showed up early on a Saturday morning and my car was pulled in right away. I came because My heat/AC and defroster were barely working. Christian did great work on my car and it works like a charm now! I was relieved they could fix it the same day and the price was reasonable. I mostly interacted with Brandon at the front counter and he was great too. I also had them test my battery as a precaution. Brandon politely explained the information on the ticket for me which I appreciate a lot, as I dont know much about cars. I always leave with a better car and I learn more about my car too. I highly recommend this location!

2022-04-23Every time I call to see if they can fit me in the same day it’s never a problem, I have such a busy schedule and don’t get plenty of time off so this is always greatly appreciated. I’m always in and out, everything I ever need gets done and nothing more. Brandon is super nice and has great customer service. Went for an oil change and he noticed I needed my inspection done, was able to get both done in a timely manner.

2022-05-20It’s always tough to get an appointment for work on my car. Brandon helped me out over the phone and got my car in and out STAT for headlight replacement which he said I didn’t need due to a plug coming loose (saved some bucks) and new wipers which were affordable. . I Would highly recommend their services, and this is not the first time they have helped me. 5 ⭐️

2022-01-13Took my car in for an oil change and check up. They got to my car quick and did the oil change. However they were trying to get me to do over $2.5k worth of work on my car including replacing all of my brake pads and rotors. When I told them that I got them all replaced back in June and had driven under 20k miles since then, they tried telling me that it was actually only the back brakes that needed replacing. They then proceeded to list the front brakes as needing replacement when I asked for a list of items they recommend I fix. I also had mentioned I was thinking of getting a new car soon and didn’t think all the work they suggested was worth it. I was met with “well you don’t know how much your car is worth.” They tried to tell me it was worth a few thousand more than what Kelly blue book lists even though that is supposedly the process they used to estimate it’s worth. ( I went through the exact same process as they were doing it on my own computer and came out with different numbers.) All in all it felt like they were being aggressive and pushy and trying to get me to do more work on that car than it was worth. Just be warned that they will try to get you to do as much work on your car as possible. Otherwise they are pretty quick at getting the work that you actually want done.

2022-04-22Solid place. Mechanics were all nice guys, and they only quoted what I needed and showed me each part and why it was being added. Had a trailing arm snap and they got me in immediately, all the other local garages were booked out weeks. Pricey for sure, but you gotta expect that from a chain garage. Labor was fair value, its just the parts that are a bit pricier than Id like. I absolutely needed that part though, and the nice staff and quick turn around made it mostly worth it.

2022-04-11I have visited this store several times. But they lost my buckle when changing the air filter. TWICE. I feel so disappointed because they didnt tell me for the first time. I thought maybe it is not they fault until it happened again. I found it immediately after the service for the second time. My tire pressure light also was on after the service. The manager didnt apologize to me at all and very rude. I hope they know the importance of honest and respect. I dont know how they can raise their children to be a decent person. Hope the world will be better.

2022-07-10Needed to get an inspection done last minute before heading away for vacation. Checked three other places and everywhere else said I would have to make an appointment and it would be a couple of days before they could get me in. Called Midas and they said come right in. They got me in and out in a half hour despite the short notice. Very impressed with their speed and customer service as they were very busy and still got me taken care of so quickly.
