We had water coming into our basement from three different locations. We got three different estimates, and Midstate was the fairest and their plan sounded as the most sensible. We had a trench dug along two walls and a sump pump installed. The job was completed exactly as stated, professionally and on schedule (it took three days total). We then requested an additional job to repair a window well that was leaking. There, too, the estimate was fair, and the final price turned out to be even lower than we expected because, when they came to do the job, they realized the repair needed was simpler than they initially thought, as the window well would not need to be replaced after all.Overall, we had a fantastic experience with everyone we dealt with: Courtney was always prompt and helpful to schedule the appointments; Shawn gave us fair estimates and clear explanations of what the projects would entail and how long they would take;Travis and Ryan, who did the first job, and Lloyd, who did the second one, were all great—professional, hard-working, courteous, clean.We couldnt have hoped for a better experience and highly recommend Midstate Basement Authorities.
Basement had only jacks holding up the house, and they were deteriorating and failing. I had gotten a couple other quotes but Mid State had the best reviews, were far more focused on my concern, more professional, better rating with the Better Business Bureau and the pricing was about the same across the board. Everyone I had contact with there and at my home was GREAT! Friendly, patient, courteous. Had some additional concerns after and they came back out and addressed, didn’t make it difficult, just took care of things. Thanks so much MidState!
I am very satisfied with the work and the work people who repointed and parged part of my basement concrete block wall. At my request, they stapled up big sheets of plastic to keep dust from the work out of the other, finished part of my basement. They were knowledgeable and efficient and were ready to alter the work order to make the outcome better.I appreciated that the worker phoned each day to say when they would arrive here. The office staff is very efficient and emailed me all the receipts, etc. The person who did the original estimate gave me a packet of the materials to keep. So, I was well-informed about what would be done.All in all, a professional, thoughtful group. I would definitely hire them again.
This company has literally changed our quality of life. Theyve come twice for two different parts of our basement. We began with a wet basement and a smelly house, and now thanks to encapsulation and multiple sump pumps, we have a dry basement and good air quality. Across the spectrum including initial contact, administrative staff, engineers, and the team on-the-ground, every single employee has been personable, kind,, and good-natured. But we especially give kudos to the team who does the truly filthy, daunting physical labor; to a person, they are amazingly energetic and hard-working. The company seems well-managed and responsive throughout the process -- from giving us a quote, scheduling, to project completion. They make the whole messy process go seamlessly. We enjoy working with them and are grateful for the resources they provide.
When we bought our home the inspector missed some key issues, like part of the basement having caved in. Midstate fixed that and put in a new drainage system. I never saw any group of people work as hard nor as diligently as them. They worked nonstop and did an amazing job. They also encapsulated a large crawl space and what a difference it makes. I would highly recommend them.

The team at Midstate Basements was EXCEPTIONAL, from the folks in the office, the guys who did the estimate, and the crew that completed the work!! They went out of their way to make the scheduling work, and when the team arrived at my home I was very impressed with their professionalism and patience. They walked me through the project, explained all the steps, and answered all my questions. Then they made sure I was totally comfortable with the plan for the job. Very thorough. I was not home while the work was performed. But when I arrived home I was amazed at how clean and finished they left the job site. The sump basin in the basement was installed perfectly. Our project required 80 feet of drainage line dug through our garden and across my front lawn. I was absolutely amazed at how great this looked when I got home to inspect the work. They removed and replaced everything in the garden like you wouldn’t even know they dug it up. And the line across the front yard was fully prepped and just ready for some grass seed. The sump pump is working great and the basement is dry as a bone. No problems whatsoever, and I would highly recommend the team from Midstate Basement to help anyone with a wet or flooded basement. Would not recommend. Had leaking issues inside basement and sump pump drainage issue. While the water leaking into the basement was fixed, the sump pump drainage was relocated to fix the issue but in the end, the new sump pump drainage location created a problem x10. Was then quoted an additional quote of $1,500 to fix the drainage issue.
Midstate was amazing from the first time I called. Was very impressed with how quick they came to do an estimate. Steve did a great job repairing a section of my basement wall and explaining everything.
Midstate Basement is an excellent company and they do stellar work! Recently Ben and his crew did major structural work to my 1907 lake cabin duplex which included pouring new concrete pads for structural support, core filling existing cinder blocks and redesigning and framing new support columns and joists. They also encapsulated the crawl space with heavy duty plastic and added spray foam around each post and the entire crawl space perimeter to the rim board. They are competitively priced and do exactly what they say theyre going to do. I am extremely satisfied with their work and highly recommend this company. The folks at Midstate Basement Authorities are wonderful. As a small businesswoman Im always surprised that some businesses just dont put the customer first. Not so with Midstate Basement Authorities. They were utterly professional, unfailingly courteous, very hard working and, perhaps the best part, theyre effective and fast! Within three days my basement was done... and so was the flooding! Hands down these folks are the best around. Highly recommended.
This company repaired my foundation with ease. Using updated technology to seal a hole in the side of our limestone mortar and stone foundation. I now feel safer then I ever have in our home! Very professional onsite team. They answered all of my questions and then some! Billing was easy and the billing department were very easy to work with and kind! 100% would recommend!
After waiting 3 weeks for an estimate appointment and finally receiving the estimate, the salesperson refused to answer any questions about it. I sent several emails over the course of a month asking for clarification on some of the statements in the estimate, and received no response.
Great company! Eric, Bill, Adam, and all the rest are dedicated to service and I would highly recommend them.
I needed a foundation repair due to frost heaving. I hired an independent structural engineer, who worked with Midstate Basement (mostly Eric, who was in charge of the operation) after I hired them as well.Eric implemented the plan of the engineer and contributed some own solutions for the repair of a retaining wall. When issues arose during the excavation Eric proactively contacted the engineer, and came up with a solution. I did appreciate that he double-checked his work with the engineer, which for me as a home-owner was reassuring. Eric completed the work for what I believe to be a competitive price. Of course only time will tell whether the repair will hold up (its just been a week since completion), but it appears to be professionally done and I am hoping that this will be a long-lasting fix.
We recently moved to the area and bought a house that turned out to have a garage that leaked whenever we had heavy rain. It must have been very dry when the previous owner lived there as they never mentioned it..... Midstate diagnosed the problem (an exterior wall that seeps) and their drainage installation and wall sealing solved the problem. They were responsive, reliable and a pleasure to work with.
We had what we would consider to be a decent size job, and Eric and crew were exceptional. They put in very long days, and had a terrible work environment because of the rain...and by rain I mean NEVER ENDING RAIN. These guys continued to work through it and the many other issues that came up during the job. Despite the travel difference, they arrived promptly every morning and got right to work. Through it all, they remained professional and worked long days to get the job done. We do have to have them come back to complete work- by no fault of theirs (weather factor), as well as do a couple things we added. I wouldnt think twice of referring anyone to them!

This team was awesome! They made our basement crawl space air tight, installed a dehumidifier and fixed our sub-pump. They went above and beyond, fixing a water leak and even killing mice! I cant say enough good things.
Eric and crew were great to work with on a big job they just finished for us replacing the entire foundation of an old house in Ithaca. The original foundation was in danger of collapse. Working with Taitem Engineering the crew at Midstate assessed the scope of the job and designed a fixed bid job to shore up the house, replace several joists and remove the old foundation walls. Along the way the entire HVAC system had to be removed and put back and plumbing and electrical had to be changed across the basement. The house looked like it was being raised up mid job with the old foundation removed and the house safely shored up.After removing part of the old foundation walls the crew found further structural issues with the house framing. They consulted with the engineer and came up with a plan to fix the problem. It was a change in scope and design, but Eric didnt change the price of the job. They changed the footer and wall design and worked with me to get the approval to change the job. The additional shoring that was needed on the job because of the change didnt cost us anything extra and now the house is level, secure and stronger than it was before by a longshot. Plumbing, HVAC and electrical are all back in place and passed inspection. Erik even personally made sure the hot water was on and working throughout the house.The crew worked hard on the job on time and professionally each step of the way. Eric also managed multiple subcontractors on the job and dealt with the permitting process and the City of Ithaca directly.Last day on the job they were cleaning up small specks of material that I would have missed or not really cared about. They also communicated well with the church next door to use their parking lot for access. After the job they returned the church parking lot to better than it was before by grading out some gravel others had snowplowed into a corner before Midstates job even started.Ive already recommended Midstate to friends and wouldnt hesitate to work with them again.

Misstate did a GREAT JOB of water proofing the basement where I had water penetration.Workmanship and clean up was EXCELLENT, but the best part was------SHORTLY AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED THE SKIES OVER ITHACA OPENED UP AND DROPPED SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN ON US.NOT A DROP OF WATER CAME IN !!I highly recommend them !!Signed,Don Edwards
I realized that my sill beam had rotted away under part of my house, so I gave them a call to come take a look. They were originally booked out, but ended up having an opening two and a half weeks sooner, and squeezed me in. On top of that, they were able to come out a couple of hours earlier than expected (of course asking if that was okay first, which is certainly was). Don came out and took a look, and it turned out that they wouldnt be able to address my specific situation, but he was more than happy to give me some information about what was going on )which happened to line up with what I expected) and who to contact to get it fixed. He was also willing to spend a couple of minutes talking about what getting the job would look like, confirming my suspicion of more than likely needing to accommodate access to the issue for the inside. He thought he was giving me bad news, but this actually just confirmed what I had already been expecting, and helps my wife and I plan better for it when we do end up getting it repaired. Over all, I would definitely work with them in the future if I have a problem that they specialize in. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly, professional, and super informative. I will definitely be recommending them, and calling them myself in the future for basement waterproofing (once my original issue is fixed)! If not for the age of my house, we would be working with them for the original repair.

HAD FLOODING IN MY BASEMENT AS MY SUMP PUMP STOPPED WORKING. CALLED ADAM AND HE CAME TO MY HOUSE WITHIN HOURS AND HOOKED UP A TEMPORARY SUMP PUMP TO STOP THE FLOODING UNTIL I DECIDED ON UNIT I WANTED. ONCE I DECIDED, THEY INSTALLED NEW UNIT WITHIN DAYS. WERE NEAT, CLEAN AND ORGANIZED IN MAKING SURE WATER WAS BEING SENT FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM MY FOUNDATION. NOTHING BUT HIGH PRAISE FOR ADAM AND HIS CREW AND WOULD RECOMMEND MIDSTATE BASEMENT FOR ANY WATER ISSUES YOU MIGHT HAVE.

2022-03-15Our experience was excellent from start to finish. They first were the only company we reached out to who responded via email and phone within a couple hours. They continued to be responsive throughout the whole process. We had a consultation with Bill who was extremely knowledgeable and offered us multiple solutions to the issues we were facing with our basement. He listened to our goal and came up with a plan that fit our needs exactly, providing a quote within a couple minutes.The work done was incredible; Steve and Tyler did a fantastic job! I believe our basement was likely their worst nightmare as we had constant running water they had to contend with. They ran into many unforeseen issues with our basement due to its age and water, but they found a solution to each one of them.They never strayed from the agreed budget or time commitment, even though Im sure the water and extra issues could have increased that cost easily. Their whole team was knowledgeable, polite, and great at what they do! No more flowing water in the basement and now we have the peace of mind that it wont flood with the setup they put in place. Highly recommend them!

2021-07-05I hired Midstate, out of five quotes from local companies, to install French drains, a sub-pump, install a wall support system for my foundation and encapsulate my crawlspace.Everything was impressive from the evaluation, the quote through the final walk through. I am so impressed by every employee I have interacted with through the project.Our crawlspace was a scary nightmare and now its a dry, clean, usable space.Im so happy I chose to go with Midstate.

2021-10-29Midstate Basement has been awesome and we are so happy we decided to have them do work for us. Courtney was wonderful to coordinate with over the phone. They were able to bump us up 3 months early for our sump pump installation. The guys who came to work at the house for two days ( Daniel, Devin, and Jason) were so nice, considerate, and accommodating to all my many questions and concerns. I would recommend them without a doubt.

2021-10-31From the first phone call to the completion of work, the entire process with Midstate was great. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and punctual. Shawn and TJ worked with us to make sure we were well informed of our options, and of the work they were performing. The project took a few days, and every day TJ let us know when he would be arriving, and kept us informed throughout the process. It was great. We are very happy with the work done. We will definitely call again if we have any other issues, and we will certainly recommend them to anyone in need of basement repair. Thank you!

2020-08-25Eric and his team were a pleasure to work with. They provided prompt, professional and quality service. I would highly recommend them for all of your basement needs. Work we had done was floor and wall encapsulation, foundation parging and install a sump pump and dehumidifier. 2022-05-08Asked for someone to quote me. Gave me 3 week out date. Took half a day off of work and no show. Called them to ask why... I was told they tried to contact me to confirm. Asked what phone number and it was not even close to mine. No sorry we can come out another time or anything. Was told sorry but you needed to confirm. I asked repeatedly for a weekend quote as we all work durring there hours but no.
