This shop is the worst shop ever they steal your car part and overcharge you I went to fix my alternator not even 5 months my car start to go off by itself they don’t deserve no stars please I advise everyone not to go there if you love your car and save your money mr Issa is the worst just known that GOD don’t like ugly
This guy oscar is legit. His team as well. Went on Google and saw good reviews. Called Midtown this morning to check my 02 Buick and told me to come and he could take a look at it. Sure enough I Came in got my inspection no waiting!. Told me the real deal and gave me a deal $300 less than the mechanic I saw the other day. JUST WOW! And on top of that he topped the car off with oil with no charge . GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Coming back to get my car serviced next week. My go to place now.
I had a horrible weekend visiting family in NYC. I drove up from Rhode Island, ended up getting sick and going to the ER, while I was in hospital someone crashed my car and bent axel. I was unable to repair so Essa organized to buy the car from me for my asking price and I was able to take the train home. It was not the ending I wanted but it was the best of a bad situation.
Midtown Auto is the place to go for all your car service needs! Ive gone here twice for brake service and theyve ALWAYS delivered on price AND quality! Oscar is a cool dude that treats you like a friend and not a customer that hes trying to make a profit off of! Dont hesitate to take all your cars here from now on!
I took my truck here (needed collision repair) on a whim after a Google search and phone call. Leon was my contact and he let me bring my truck in the same day. Super nice and professional guy who made the process much easier and had my best interests in mind. The truck was fully repaired in only 4 days or so, and they even gave it a wash for me twice since I was late picking it up.5/5 service, would highly recommend. Ask for Leon or Ruby, both great guys.
A week ago my car broke down near the Lincoln Tunnel - I am from NJ and have triple AAA, but the wait times were over 5 hours.Luckily, my car broke down in front of this place. I called in a panic trying to find a private tower I could afford, and the owner came out upon hearing I was right outside the door. He took my car inside to check it out and gave me some water, which was so kind because I was crying and had been in the hot car with no AC for 2 hours at this point. They charged me an amazing price to tow me all the way back to NJ - after they had looked at my car immediately (for free), diagnosed the problem, and were going to fix it right there but there was no where in the city to get the part until tomorrow. Because of them, I was able to get home.Never in my entire life has a stranger tried so much to help me. I am really in deep thanks to Midtown Center, because I dont know what I would have done if they had not helped me get home that day. Thank you so much!
Midtown Center = fantastic! I was in town for a quick trip in my rental car but had some issues with the tire pressure. It was Sunday and I had a lot of issues finding places that would look at my tire(s). After being ignored and/or told Id have to wait until the end of the day, I called Midtown and they were able to take a look almost immediately. They found the issues and even made sure to make notes on the receipt to ensure the rental agency reimbursed me for all of the issues. Prices were fair and just an overall great experience - something I wasnt expecting from a Manhattan auto repair shop.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Im new to living in Manhattan- I could go anywhere in the Boroughs for car work though. But I chose to come here because of the reviews on the service and their customer service. Michael and Leon were both great! I believe smiling and being polite helps with productivity. They gave me that small town feeling; where I get that experience, a name to a face and good work on my car that I trust and at honest fair price too! Something hard to come by these days! Great job on my car! Thanks!
Best auto repair shop in NYC. I saw a google ad for midtown center auto repair. Their prices are affordable. They have skilled welders that are competent sufficient to patch holes on any kind of part of my vehicle.Come early as they are normally overloaded if a customer is available in after 10AM.Rates are good and also the reverse around 5 hrs for a semi-difficult car welding work. They additionally do engine as well as body repairs too but I have not tried that yet with them - like I claimed they are typically strained.Remarkable Work!-- I was in a car accident and my Ford Explorer wanted some severe repair. The experts at Midtown Center Auto Repair & Body Shop in New York City were terrific. They functioned swiftly, remained in communication with us as well as our insurer, and also I got my vehicle back looking PERFECT (which we werent sure was possible - the damage was considerable). I would certainly utilize them once more in a heartbeat and also would * extremely * advise them to anybody!
Came for a pre-purchase inspection and the mechanic found a problem with the control arms which was accurately diagnosed it and gave a decent price. However, they also claimed the engine mounts were bad. I had had them fixed recently by a different shop, and a third independent shop verified that the engine mounts were 100% fine. Not sure if it was based on lack of expertise or intent to scam.
My car broke down right off of the FDR. I thought it was the end for my car. I called them and they sent a tow truck very quickly. Before I knew it, my car was diagnosed and needed a new alternator. They fixed it very quickly and I was riding again. I thought service in Manhattan would cost me a lot, but it’s well worth the price. Very happy and impressed with the service and shout out to Micheal the mechanic who was very nice and informative.
The service is horrible. They tell you a price and charge another just because its the boss and he says so. I took my car because it spilled gasoline and they charged me $ 125 for telling me the diagnosis, that I already knew (that I was wasting gasoline) that was their diagnosis😤
These people robbed me of over a grand. A brand new car. Opened up unnecessary things and charged me. Had my car held hostage till I payed for their labor of opening up my car. Never fixed anything. Never go here. Go to your dealer. Or local mechanic. Tow it. It will be worth it. Tow it!
Surprisingly good service! While it is a garage and it is not as esthetically appealing as some shops, the service was great. The manager Michael was very professional, honest and set clear and realistic expectations when I had dropped the car off, after being towed. Was very happy with my overall experience and turnaround time for the repair.
Quality body work, professional and courteous staff, quick service, very reasonable prices, and 24 hour availability. This place definitely deserves five stars. While they were working on one part of the vehicle, they included some small repairs on another part of the vehicle as courtesy.Frankie was very professional, quick to respond, serviced the vehicle in a timely manner, and even when I went back to resolve some small issues on the finishing touches of the job the next day, had the mechanics finish the work the same day without protest. They were also the most reasonably priced place out of 3 locations that I went to get estimates from, and they were the 1 shop that gave me an itemized estimate printed out, on the spot. (I believe you need to be there when the estimator is there for this, which is during the day sometime before 4 pm).Next time if I ever need any work done on my car again, I would certainly return to this garage.j
5 STARS!!! My husband and I packed up the car this morning to head upstate for the holidays when the transmission light went on and the car would not start. When we finally got the car started, we knew we needed to take it in to be looked at right away, but being in midtown Manhattan, we were a little wary of just stopping in anywhere. As it turned out, we found Midtown Center Auto Repair and were happily surprised. Mike, who is originally from Rochester, is a manager there and made us feel so welcome; he was so informative and professional - we knew we were in the right place. Mike was able to diagnose very quickly that we had a known issue with the car’s computer, and he provided us the documentation we would need to take to the dealership. He did not even charge us a dime! We feel so relieved and happy to know that we have a new auto shop we can trust in our neighborhood. Thanks again Mike
My car wouldnt start. I called AAA and decided to try Midtown Center Auto Repair because of the great reviews. All of the other shops were closed due to the Memorial Day weekend. I called and they were super polite and said, Were open 24/7 bring your car well take care of you. Well fix it tonight. I brought the car in and within 30 minutes I had a new starter and was on my way home. A starter replaced in 30 MINUTES AT 10:00pm. AMAZING!! I will definitely take my car here from now on. These guys are great! They service a lot of cabs so they work very quick. I WAS SO IMPRESSED!!!
This place is a rip off. They charged me over three thousand dollars. The managers are rude. They don’t test drive the cars after they finished fixing them. I took my car from the shop and almost blew up on a highway. I’m definitely never going back. They ruined my car.I highly recommend you to go somewhere else.
By far the best knowledgeable mechanics and reasonable prices. I live in new jersey and always come to them for everything. I have known the owner for almost 24 years since my car was in an accident on grand central pkwy and the tow truck driver told me about how goood body work they do. Just recently had an issue with my toyota sienna and had it towed to my local toyota dealer and they gave me an estimate of roughly about $4000. Had my car towed to this shop and they had me up and running a day later with $1400.
Drove intoNyc from Washington DC. Accidentally drove into a bus lane & over an elevated ledge cracking the oil pan on a Ford Focus. The tow came quickly & represented a good start. My expectations were set, that they could repair the car & “Get me in my way.” SinceThey were 24 hr, I Did Not Seek options. First the cost quoted was $1500 for a Ford Focus oil pan & oil? ITs not even my car. Then it was $750. It was going to be done ASAP, then aPart needed to be ordered. It would be ready at 9am, 10, latest. Then 1. Perhaps 4pm.I was clear & stayed that I wanted toHave car towed (not repaired) & could take Amtrak home. So the mechanics kept stringing me along. I just spoke w/ Mike, who seemed competent & trustworthy, but at this point, why would I trust any work or Price quoted.I will revise my review if this works Out & car is Fixed in a Reasonable time period.Let’s see if Owner (Ruby) & Management (Mike) can deliver a satisfactory result for a simple auto issue.Would NOT Recomended emergency / after hour service! Jose, whoTowed the car was great! I hoped a tip would help... tip = “to insure promptness. It doesn’t, don’t bother. Sorry!
They installed a new tail light right away and then did an inspection. They were quick, reasonably priced, and effective. What more could you want? This repair shop is a great resource for those living in Manhattan. The cabs come here for a reason.Tip: be aware they do inspections on Sunday but not Saturday for some reason.
My Fiat 500 starter stopped working so had AAA tow the car to Midtown auto early on a Sunday morning. They did the starter change the same day and car was ready to go before the evening. $347 for labor (2 hours labor per manager) and $ 292 for the starter ( manager states someone had to go all the way to NJ to get it) before taxes are applied. See receipt photo. They do tell you the price up front and are open 24 hours.
Took over an hour just for someone to look at my car when other mechanics were walking around doing nothing. Then tried to charge me $500 for work that cost me $90 to do 15 mins away and took 20 mins to do. Extremely rude person running the place at night. Mechanic was nice.
Conflicted about this review, when I first walked in for a simple NYS inspection one of the mechanics told me to bring my car in, next thing I knew this older rude Israeli manager rushed over to me barking at me to get my car out if the garage asap until the two cars ahead of me finished upWhen I saw the 2 cars ahead leave the garage I pulled back in, only to have this same manager yell and argue with me as he hadnt called me back In. I was just trying be helpful .I went back outside and waited for an hour! No one called me back in or even came to check on me.This is where it got better, after waiting for an hour I went back in and requested an update. I Immediately received great service from an older soft-spoken gentleman manning the front desk and he took care of me and my car promptly. I was gone less than ten min after speaking to him.Meanwhile the Israeli manager was still in the garage with open bays , he never came outside to get me and didnt say a word or apologize , just glared at me.I would not go back to this garage, it a shame as they seem capable. But that one manager (owner?) completely ruined it for me.
Terrible service. Went in for an oil change and waited through about 45 minutes because Taxis get preferred service due to a contract. So this means you have to wait every time a taxi drives in. They literally stop the work on your car and only go back when theyve completed the work on the taxi. If you are in a hurry. Go somewhere else. Update 9/5/2018 Everything about the response given by Mid Town Center is false. The truth is the mechanic that was servicing my vehicle stopped working on it and moved over to service the Yellow Cab. Work on my vehicle was restarted only after the yellow cab was finished and drove off. I even complained to the manager and he was the one who told me that they have a contract with the Taxi service and they have to service them first. He also said that he was sorry if I dont like their service and am free to go somewhere else. You be the judge.
My girlfriend left her car here for a state inspection. When we went to pick it up, they had changed all the brakes and rotors without her authorization, and handed us a $700 bill. We will be seeking some recourse, but in the meantime anyone considering taking their vehicle here should know that this place is shady to say the least.Update: We ended up getting $500 back after the DMV investigated. This shop is one of the worst Ive ever encountered.
Majority of the guys that were there (black) was very kind. 100% I must say.I came there because I had an issue with an squeaking noise coming from my car. It was determined that it MAY be the ball from the axis from the front left wheel. Which was a guest and not for sure that was causing the issue for the squeaking noise. It could of been the suspension, tie rod, shocks or struts. To test out whats the issue you have to properly test out the car, meaning drive it around, and test it, and run a diagnostic test.I was told the axle which all add up to $900 for one wheel MAY be the problem which was told by the supervisor who was working the shift.Which is absolutely ridiculous.
Worst experience ever had. They will steal your cars parts very politely. My car was shut down and they said the fuse is burnt. So I bought one fuse $353 from them and took back my old fuse (though they didnt want to give me). Later, I noticed inside fuse, pin is broken and there are no sign of burn. The very next day, I experienced the same problem again and I went to another repair shop, they just changed the battery. Never will go to this store again. Theyre very polite but not trustworthy.
SCAMMERS!!! Had my car towed there last night because it wouldn’t start up and I live 2 1/2 hours away. The mechanic jumpstarted it and it started right up. He went on to tell me I needed to spend $700 on a new battery and alternator. (He told me if I didn’t get either I wouldn’t make it two blocks) I called my cousin who is a mechanic and described what lights were on in the vehicle and everything and he said I didn’t need either and to just leave. After trying to tell the mechanic that I didn’t want to get a new battery and alternator, he changed me $93 just for jumping it I WAS ONLY THERE FOR 15 MINUETS!! He was very rude and said that if I paid $140 for a new battery he wouldn’t charge me the $93. So I paid the $93 and left. I MADE IT THE WHOLE RIDE HOME WITH NO PROBLEMS. 133 miles is how far I live and the guy said I wouldn’t make it two blocks!! These people are scammers who just want your money and are very rude!!! 0/10
The body shop did wonderful work fixing serious dents and repainting the damaged area, it looked like nothing ever happened just as promised as the boss. And everything just happened during the weekend in 1 day. Not only their fixed the car, they cleaned and perfumed also the inside. The price is a bit beyond my budget but I cant thank more for their help.
I called and asked for an estimate. Guy was rude on the phone and just said “no, bring the car in” as his default answer. I told him exactly what I needed a bumper replacement and fender repaint. He said again, “no we don’t give estimates, bring the car in.” I said I could email pictures this is a simple job. Again, “no, bring the car in.”Literally said nothing else. Long pause. I just hung up.There is no reason to have to see my 2018 impreza in person to give me an estimate. I want an OEM bumper replacement and touch up paint for a scraped side fender and I have pictures. What’s the problem?Your response is lackluster. You should be able to give a clear estimate for a fender replacement over the phone. Replacement is the same process at every garage (parts, paint and labor). Your response also doesn’t explain why the guy on the phone was so grumpy.I called 3 other auto body shops and they all gave me estimates ranging from $750-$1000, for a bumper replacement using my car vin number. They said they can’t give me an estimate on repainting my fender which is fair. They took the time to answer my question with care. Something your guy did not. Just saying “no bring the car in...” is lazy.
Found Midtown Center Auto Repair online. Saw the amazing reviews and decided to try them out for myself. Glad I did because I was nothing but satisfied. Prompt and precise as well as professional . Will definitely be coming back for any future auto repair needs that pop up along the way.
I went there a couple of days ago with our BMX X5 which was leaking antifreeze from the expansion tank. They located the issue immediately, which was a small hole on the expansion tank. Called up BMW dealer to get the part and gave me an estimate for parts and labor, which was more than fair. Frank did not mark up on the part and kept the cost of labor at the minimum. The technician did the job carefully added new antifreeze liquid and took all the necessary time to flush the system from residuate air bubbles, using the appropriate tooling. While I was there waiting for the repair, they got very busy servicing a lot of Taxis, Uber cars, Police cars and a few German luxury cars. All in all good service at a fair price.
I called to ask a question about something that was wrong with my vehicle and the guy who answered was so rude to me. All I did was ask if he has an idea about what might be wrong with my vehicle and he said that he’s not going give me that answer until he charges me for a diagnosis, started ranting and then slammed the phone down on his end. Don’t waste your time
Buyer Beware - or more correctly - Women Beware. Drove my recently serviced (by my LI mechanic) 2000 Toyota Camry into this shop on a Sunday at 11 am for a NY State Inspection. Within 5 minutes the car was put up on a lift and me and the boyfriend were seated in the office. After 15 minutes, with car still up on the lift, the man appeared and spoke exclusively to my boyfriend. There was a looming serious issue with my apparently leaking power steering fluid. When I interjected, I was ignored. When I basically called BS on this cash grab, I was led to my car where the mechanic pointed out oil coating wires (yeah, thats supposed to be there) as the issue. I was told that my car failed inspection. Have since discovered that even if this HAD been the case, it is NOT a failable reason. Oh, and according to the head man, I was leaking oil too from some cracked mechanism. Shame on you. I got my car RIGHT outta there.I took my car, during the week, to my own honest, reliable mechanic on LI (Go H&H Auto, Amityville for quality service and respect for women) and guess what? Immediate pass. No issues. Shame on Midtown Center Auto Repair for their fraudulent and sexist ways. Stay away.
Went to this place last weekend because after I hit a bump when I was braking a heard a grinding noise in the front of my car. I brought my car in after just having my mechanic check my whole car 2 weeks prior and I was told my back brakes were causing this and I should get a new mechanic. After $430 dollars later and new back brakes I left with the same noise and grinding. Turns out , after going elsewhere it was just a warp on my front rodor and it just needed to be smoothed out. Looks like they just wanted to rip me off or never even checked my front rodor where I said multiple times that’s where it was coming from.
Fast service. Inspections begin at 11:00 and that is when I arrived. I was driving away with a new inspection sticker at 11:35. Everyone was easy to talk to. If you enter the far right door, you will see a high desk in the back of the shop. Walk back there and tell someone that you need an inspection. They will tell you what to do.
After dinner and a show, my wife and I were stranded with a dead battery. Tow driver Shawn took us to Midtown Center Auto Repair a.k.a. Auto Body Shop NYC at 537 W 38th St, New York, NY 10018. So glad he did. Open 24 hours a day, the technicians got us up and running in little time. The prices were fair especially for Manhattan. BIG THANKS!
Do Not Get Your Car Inspected or Worked on Here...On August 18, 2015, I was directed to Midtown Center Auto Repair for an Inspection by some Gas Station Attendants on Houston Street, NYC. When I got there I was greeted by Mr. Andrew Bello who took care of me promptly and courteously (Invoice# 653). While waiting I tried the candy bar machine which took my dollar and didnt give it back. My mental antennae went up... An employee returned the dollar bill.Andrew told me to wait in an Office while my TrailBlazer was inspected. After a short time, he lifted my truck and showed me why I failed my Inspection. A steering Gear needed replacement (Steering, suspension front end and chassis/ frame) as it was leaking oil. He also noted Lighting and Reflectors and that my horn did not work. The horn did work and my complete front end was basically new. My mental antenna went up again...I asked him for an estimate which came out to $955.02. I asked him if he could do better for cash and he said to avoid paying tax, he could do it for $850.00. I paid $37.00 for my Failed Inspection. I said Ill think about it.On August 22, 2015 at 7AM, I brought my car to Pep Boys on 38-19 21st Street. LIC. where I previously had work done. Eric, the Service Manager, greeted me and I checked my truck in with Kevin at the Service Desk. I told him what I was told my Mr. Andrew Bello at Midtown Auto and he said, I will have your car Inspected first to see if what you were told was accurate. I said to myself, that makes a ton of sense.I had three bulbs replaced and passed my Inspection. I requestioned this gear problem mentioned by Mr. Bello to Kevin and Eric, to ensure that my steering was safe; money was not the issue here. Eric looked me dead in the my eyes and said, If there was anything the matter with your truck, it would not pass Inspection. PepBoys honored a 10% Coupon and I was on my way knowing I was not ripped off and that my truck was safe and Inspected properly.DO NOT bring your vehicle for Service to Midtown Center Auto Repair & Body Shop unless you want to get ripped off and have the Federal Government ripped off as well.
This place is amazing, had a flat tire coming to the city at Lincoln tunes entrance in a late model MB at 1AM Tuesday night , MB road assist never showed up .... called these guys in NYC , they picked me up and my car, in NJ , brought to the shop, replaced the damage tire, all done from 3-4 AM ... great hardworking teamthanks EssaNorm
OVER PRICED. I was charged double for the parts and labour as compare to parts available at auto shops outside. And also I was never clearly told about the actual price of the parts installed rather they gave me flat rate. So unprofessional. I suggest avoiding this shop if you love your car.
Very bad service, bad persons, special owner and manager they are layer.I never seen in my life people like them. Also very expensive. Service is really really bad. didnt fix your car they made another problem to you. if you dont want headache please dont go there. they apply to you 3 different very expensive amounts for nothing .
Franky and his genius mechanic Kelly took in my Mercedes 2005 320 CLK and treated me like a king. In 40 years of dealing with mechanics, these guys took the cake. Rocket Scientists. REASONABLE prices. I live in Northern NJ. They are the ONLY people who will ever touch my cars again. No game, no BS. I went in their in a 911 situation and they just MADE MY DAY! Nuf Said.
I called in today to ask a question on part changes, the entire call took 2 Minutes! He asked me for the vin number. Put me on hold while I was looking it up that was about 30sec. When he got back I told him I have the last 7 digits, the guy cut off my sentence and said” I need the plate number or vin number, call me back when you have them” and hanged up!!Obviously I have the plate number and would’ve gave them to him if he didn’t hang up!! What kinda service is this?
Essa is a gem.Mike, on the hand, is rude, unprofessional, screamed at me because he did not want to hear how to get simple approval from my warranty company, said he was sick of dealing with me, and hung up the phone on me.Avoid this garage like the plague unless and until Mike is not in a position power. The most offensive and rude manager I have ever dealt with!
Our car broke down while I was taking my daughter to Boston and we ended up getting towed to their shop 8 o’clock on a Friday night Mike was beyond helpful and went out of his way to make calls on our behalf to several Ford dealerships This enabled me to still get my daughter to Boston for the weekend and Mike kept in touch with me so we could make arrangements to get the car fixed Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and ultimately they did not do the work on the car but they still went out of their way to help us get it towed to the dealer we bought it from If they were this helpful and trustworthy when they weren’t going to do the work and get paid I’m sure they would be even better when they were working on your car Without hesitation I would recommend Mike and you will be in good hands
Been going to these guys for as long as ive been driving (about 20 years) and they are always spot on. very fair on pricing and they wont do a lick of work unless you come to an agreement, unlike other places where they are vague on pricing then screw you in the end. i would trust them with any domestic or foreign car anytime.
Its quite fine in emergencies as its 24/7 and they mostly have all parts like headlight tail light bulbs sockets brakes but they sell its overpriced i got an headlight bulb for low beam by Phillips 511 its mostly cost 15 and 25 for a pair or you can say including tax 30 for a pair from original toyota dealer and they sold me a single low light beam for 38 including tax... i was in emergency and to avoid ticket i got that light bulb.. but they shouldn’t be charging someone more than the original MRP.
I had 17 y.old Prius with some small dents ,chips and scratches.I asked manager Frank for the estimate and the price was fair.I did not expect that the car would have such a smooth surface and Toyota OEM factory brilliant blue pearl metalic paint. They did the magic and the car looks brand new and this is not an exaggeration.Managers Frank and Mike were great and Israeli guys Rony,Ruby and Rami could not be any nicer.
Extremely extremely rude and very unprofessional. I will NEVER use their service or even recommend them. RUDE people. You are right, I have never used your service and will never use it. I called to make an enquiry and the person who picked the phone was VERY VERY VERY rude and even hung up on me. VERY rude
These people are a bunch of crooks, my father came with a check engine light on we did about $360 worth of work the car still had issues came back and they told my father that to get the check engine sign off he is going to need about $1700 worth of work more than we spent already Imy Dad called me asked me for my opinion I told him to leave we will take it somewhere else we took it to another auto shop they charged us $800 dollars for everything that needed to get done and the car runs great ...it is so disappointing that theses crooks was try to take advantage of a 75 year old man and scam him for all the money he has $800 from $1700 is a huge difference for the same amount of work that was being done don’t go to this place they are horrible !!!!

2022-08-01I called to ask if they had any used BMW tires , the person who answered the phone said no and hung up without asking if I was interested in brand new ones (which I was) I called back and told him he hung up on me and he asked if I was interested in anything else I said yes I would like to know the price of new ones he gave me the price and I hung up on him without responding to show him how rude it was to do that. Will never bring my service there smh so disrespectful.

2020-02-18If you need to get a NY State inspection done on your car, look no further than here. After calling and visiting a few other inspection stations, I decided to bring my vehicle here. While the facilities may not be visually appealing or have a posh customer waiting area, the service was excellent, and the price was transparent. I met the owners, Michael and Leon, and they were very professional and personable. The rate for an inspection is $35/$37 (which is dictated by The NY State), so dont believe other shops if they give you a higher price. Definitely recommended and now I know where I will take all our cars when they need a NY State inspection.

2022-05-12Avoid. They fixed everything and forgot to perform the inspection, for which reason I’d originally brought the car in!! When I went back with two summonses for missing inspection stickers, the owner ordered the car inspected for free, then tried to bargain with me—come back for repair and I’ll give you the amount as a discount. I insisted he pay the fines, so he copied the violations and assured me he would. When I came back 2 weeks later he told me to “get the *%#* out of here.” Do. Not. Trust. These. People. With. Your. Business. For. A. Second. This is a follow up. This was NOT a fake review. YES an alias; these guys are vicious.I don’t want them coming after me.To be fully transparent, I know from speaking to other customers that they do great work and they do it for a VERY reasonable price. But for them to make an error —probably an honest mistake— that cost me in violations and NOT TO MAKE IT RIGHT with me, after promising to do so, means you’re taking a huge risk with this place.I wrote the above review after I returned a second time to demand the owner follow up on his “promise” to speak to the mechanic who made the mistake. He had not spoken to this mechanic, and he had not gotten back to me. I had to call and speak to the mechanic directly, a week after the mechanic had returned from a trip, and he had no idea of the issue. When I decided to go in, admittedly FUMING at the deception and demanding he give me the measly 150.00 for the violations, the owner told me to get lost, called me a low life, and spat on me. So, yeah, great work, but be careful if they make an error. They take zero accountability.

2022-01-25Somehow both of my headlights went out at the same time as I was leaving town for a work trip. Since it was late, I was searching for a 24 hour garage and after a few attempts found Midtown. They helped me as soon as I arrived and even explained how to change headlights and tell if the bulbs are out upon request. Very professional and speedy. I really appreciate them squeezing me in and being patient with my limited car knowledge as a new car owner. I wouldn’t have made it to my work trip otherwise! Thank you, Essa!

2022-02-27This shop tried to scam me by refusing to pass my state vehicle inspection unless I purchased new tires from them. They said the tires were bare on the inside. I couldnt tell but it seemed fishy so I left. The next week I took the car to Pep Boys who passed the the car, said the tires were fine and said if anything my brake pads were a little low but not enough to warrant failing the state inspection. This is exactly why state inspections should not be provided by repair shops. Anyway, DO NOT go here.

2019-09-30This is a great garage run by good professional fair people with skilled dedicated patient mechanics and fair prices. Ruby wasthe manager when we arrived. I had no idea places like this existed in Manhattan. When our car had problems in rush hour as we left town for Maryland (on our way to get our kids and go to Family member funeral in Pennsylvania), I felt like I was having a nightmare as I pushed the car to the side of the road with 5 million people honking behind me. I urgently searched for a garage and found them nearby with lots of great reviews. They came and picked it up minutes later, worked on it through the night, and got us on our way at 3:30a. I never could have imagined feeling comfortable camping out much of the night with my wife in a garage in Hell’s Kitchen waiting for auto work to be done—but the staff was incredibly cheerful and friendly and they made the experience so much better than it could have been. And when things get complicated, as they often do with cars, the garage staff deals with you fairly—making us feel comfortable with a negotiated amount of additional charges for an additional part we hadnt originally discussed but which they explained was necessary and even lending us a car so we could dash to New Jersey before a store closed to pick up yet another small inexpensive but crucially important part they only realized we needed as they were handing us the keys—and then installing this small part (with what turned out to be great effort through the night due to a complication) for no additional charge. They insisted it be done for our own safety, even though the car was running and they could have easily gotten rid of us and left us to whatever fate on our ride home. The only conclusion I could come to in dealing with them is that they really care about what they do and they care about their customers. Thank you to the team at Midtown for taking care of us. The car runs perfectly. We made it home to get our son that morning. And we made it to the funeral in Pennsylvania that afternoon. Couldn’t have done it without you. We recommend you to everyone we meet.
