Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza in New York
We‘ve been to this hotel before in 2018 and 2019 and both the service quality and cleanliness/condition of the rooms have deteriorated significantly. There was no Diamond upgrade to an executive room (or higher) offered. We know that this depends on availability, a short explanation would have helped though. Our first room was dirty (dirty walls, greasy minibar) and in a really bad condition (broken lamps, broken towel rack, orange extension cord going through the middle of the room). When we showed pictures to the front desk staff, they seemed to be annoyed and took notes. Then, after asking for a second time, they finally offered another room (which was also not very clean - toothpaste and fat stains on the walls, greasy minibar, but better overall). We felt as if we had to ask/beg for everything and really didn‘t feel welcome - to be honest, as long and loyal Hilton customers, we were really irritated by this low level of service. We had the same situation when asking for a late check out (our flight left at 9pm). We had to ask three times and were always told that the hotel is pretty much at capacity and that we have to come back later or talk to the management as there was nothing the front desk staff could do. I would at least have expected them to get back to us later but we really had to go there three times. On the day before departure, we were told to come back the next day at 7am and ask again, only to be turned down again. Being at capacity is fine - offering no service is not. We have really never experienced such bad service in a Hilton hotel before and will definitely not come back. As a sharp contrast to that, the staff working at UN Café was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is in a great location, near most of the stuff we wanted to do on our Visit. We picked one of the rooms with view so the view was amazing. On our 1st night there our TV in the room wasnt working,we called and they sent 2 guys to look at it but they couldnt fix it. They said they could send someone in the next morning if it wasnt working but no was sent. House keeping cleaned very well the 1st day we were there but the next day they didnt change towels for us the floors were not vacuumed. We were there for 3nights. We expected some bit of compensation but we never got any feedback even after forwarding our unsatisfication.
I stayed at this property for 5 nights to ring in 2022 and had a great time! The entire staff was amazing from Jesus in the UN cafe to the front desk agent that checked me in, housekeeping, the bell hop/doorman, security - everyone! The location is the best that Ive experienced in NYC thus far. You can walk to Grand Central Terminal 5 minutes to catch any subway or commuter trains, or you can walk 15 - 20 minutes to Rockefeller Center and anything else in the center of NYC to be in the mix. The rooms were spacious, I had a great city view, and were clean as well. I recommend 100% and would stay here again.
Good sized room. They brought a refrigerator to the room as requested. No ice machine. No ice cube tray in refrigerator. View from the window was great as promised. Didnt realize that they have tennis court available presumably for a fee. Pay extra for wifi. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Positive: Cool location. Very friendly staff! Room was in a nice position. Negative: My room was kind of gross. They definitely only clean whatever is immediately visible. There were crumbs on the floor, hair, etc. and ~stains~ on one of the couches. The windows were pretty dirty as well. The curtains were stained with something red.
The rooms are also more spacious relative to other hotels in the area, especially the newer ones. Overall a very well kept and clean hotel. This hotel has all the amenities, including a full sized Tennis court in the upper floors. One of the best part about this place are the fantastic views. Especially spectacular views of the New York skyline at night and the UN building next to the river. The Skyline Club is a fantastic place to start your morning with newspaper, coffee, breakfast, and day time view of the city.
Fantastic hotel, amazing staff who were able to help me and my wife with every query and need immediately. The location is great - a short walk to Grand Central, which can get you anywhere.I guess the only improvement would be that this hotel had an honors lounge, and the breakfast was better / clearer, but to be honest we didnt eat in the hotel as New York has more food than any other city.
Very good hotel and comfortable rooms. No consistency to the rooms though. First room, the blinds didnt work, replacement room didnt have a mini fridge. The only other thing to note is that there is NO room service which is a real pain. Im sure as the post Covid situation improves, this will change. Otherwise, would probably stay here again.
If I can give this place a 0 star I would . I had a booking and could not make it . My partner tested positive for covid and was very sick , the hotel refuse to cancel or reschedule my reservation. The room rate was 465 for the night ,and all they can say is that they have to cancel the reservation with-ought any refunds. The manager was not helpful or understanding. Will never book this hotel ever again ..
Wow! Stayed here this weekend for my boyfriend’s birthday. The first room we checked into I was unhappy with, Dorca at the front desk immediately upgraded our room which we were completely in love. The Ambassadors Grill served such amazing food for breakfast. Last but not least visit the gym for stunning views!!!! Loved this hotel we will be returning!
I expect more from a Hilton. Especially one next to the UN. The room is nice. I have a nice view. Overall its an okay experience. Just that though. Okay. Nothing fantastic. Nothing mind blowing. There isnt anything that sets this hotel apart at this point in time. The amenities are closed, thanks to COVID-19. The restaurant has strange hours. Its been an okay experience.
We went in for the for the spectacular view and the view was amazing. However the Hotel experience was very disappointing. Dirty rugs, bugs found on the floor, disgusting dirty refrigerator and dusty. No glassware provided not even at request, they gave me 2 plastic cups so I could pour champagne. No one answered the phone in reception area, I had to connect with their customer care.
I am tourist visiting New York with my spouse. I was in Hemstead suite. Its in nicely decorated and furnished with great views of the city. The food served at the restaurant is good. They served me dinner in late evening. Staff are friendly and quick to serve. I would definitely recommend to stay here.
Excellent location for midtown access in NYC, it is far away from the busy and noisy Times Square, it has great views towards East River and Midtown. Rooms are modern, clean and well sized. Staff is very professional and courteous, excellent gym and other amenities, problem: nowhere to get food after 10:00, must go out.
The hotel was pretty nice, but I wouldnt say it was 5 stars. Our carpet had been burned with an iron, the couches were stained, the lamps were frayed, the main shower head didnt work so we had to use the handheld, and the switches for the lights were backwards. But we had an amazing view of the Chrysler Building so I cant complain, honestly.
I am usually a Marriott girl through and through. I worked for the company for close to 5 years and have always had great experiences. We booked our trip last minute and needed a hotel in the area, so we booked this Hilton. I have to say, I don’t think I would return. Although the rooms are spacious and clean the lack of customer service is not worth a larger room. I will say the best part of the hotel is the coffee shop and the staff working inside of the coffee shop otherwise all the others were not very welcoming or helpful. At least they have really cute guard dogs to welcome you.
Positive: The room was exceptionally clean. The view was fantastic. The interior decorating of the lobby was exceptional. Negative: I like a bureau for unpacking, and this room did not have that. The carpet was old. Many of the amenities were closed, including the pool and massage service.
I had to call police in order to get my stuff out of there simply because the front desk refused to talk to me. The manager showed up only when the officer stepped in the building. I have NEVER had such horrible experience in my life. Moreover, the hotel is old, dated and filthy . The staff is not trained properly. The front desk lady was screaming at me using strong language content.I will have my lawyer finish this review providing all the details to whom it may concern. I was badly mistreated in this hotel and such outrageous situation needs to be resolved properly.
Positive: The city view from my room was just amazing! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Negative: I would have appreciated complimentary coffee and tea or continental breakfast being offered. There was a snack bar just off the lobby where items were available for purchase.
I want to take the time to thank the staff of this hotel. I tend to stay here when I’m in town for business but 23Mar was a little different. I always book a single bed room but somehow got a double bed conjoined room didn’t complain. But I was awaken around 1:58a to my neighbor making horrible noise at first I thought to myself that it’s a hotel grown people do grownup things in a hotel but it got to the point the noises turned scary. He would literally be screaming and you could hear him hitting what sound like skin. He proceeded to yell off and on coming closer to the conjoining door. Being a female I was shaken up and could not sleep in that room. I called the front to ask for a security escort to another room and what did they do? Security came and got me out the room and even walked me to my new room and called back to ensure I was okay. I truly truly appreciate your staff so much.
Positive: I loved the room. Next time I come to NYC I will come back to the Millenium Hotel. Negative: When I checked in at the hotel the customer service rep did not tell me about the elevator. I was lost and could not find my room. I eventually went back to the front desk and another customer service rep told me how to get on the elevator to my room.
I recently stayed here with my husband and kids at the Millennium Hilton Un one plaza hotel and the stay was amazingly awesome. The staff was amazing, patient and understanding and the room is clean and comfortable. Loved the view of the city. The restaurant was amazing omg. The food was delicious and the hot chocolate was great. Our server was Mr. Hussain he was very patient, courteous and friendly. My baby pancake was shaped liked a koala 🐨 bear which was so cute and he loved it. I also got the opportunity to meet the executive Chef Mr. Mangit he was very nice and friendly. I would give them a 10 star 🌟. Whenever we are in NYC and looking for a hotel again this will definitely be the one. Thanks for making our vacation a wonderful one.
Positive: The bidet Negative: The staff is extremely rude. I spoke to them over the phone and informed them that my flight landed early and I am an hour away. I will come only if they are able to accommodate me with an early checking. Hotel employee was very rude. I didnt get a room
Positive: The hotel was only about a 15 minute walk to time square. Less then that to grand central station. Plenty of place around for some great food. Negative: Had to ask for extra towels. If there are two beds in the room why would you only give me one towel and no face cloth or hand towel? But have to say they came right up with them. And if that is the only problem I can live with that. The room was spotles.
Had a perfect view from the 38th floor, booked for 1 night but we loved it so much we just extended it one more day just to unwind. The staff was so courteous and accommodating and the rates were not bad either, would 100% recommend and would definitely be staying again.
Positive: Location was good, staff was good. Negative: Our first day there, we were resting from our 6 hour flight and between the time of 4-7 pm some security came to our room and opened our door talking about he was checking to see if we were okay! I¿m not sure what made them think it was okay!
Positive: The view Negative: Hotel didn¿t have ice machine available for guest. Checkout was entirely to early they didn¿t even allow us to checkout late. Room service kept knocking on door at 830am in 20 mins increments to see what time we¿re checking out be super annoying
My husband and I stayed in this hotel during 1 week and I was wondeful. The location (10 from the grand central station and 20 from times square and the 5th avenue) , the employees were extremely generous and kind .Hussein and his collegues from the breakfast and George the concierge for the luggages :) :)Perfect from our arrival to our departure. The view from our room was breathtaking and I recommend without any problem the hotel. Thank for making our stay memorable and fabulous. Thank you so much.
My team and i stay here at least 5 days a month for work sometimes more. Staff is great, rooms are a little dated, carpeting needs to be updated, bar and dining are downstairs in an awkward area away from the lobby, last time I tried to use hilton points and was charged the full rate and told that I would have to call hilton Corp to settle it.
This hotel was going to get a 5 star review but due to poor customer service its been reduced to 1. Here we go....Why you should stay here :- Rooms were big and clean- We had two adjacent rooms and stayed on 32nd floor.- Views were great !- Location, although it looks far away from the main attractions it actually only a 6 minute walk to Grand Central Station- Hotel area seemed quiet and safe (we walk everywhere and all around the local area)- Time Square probably 15 min walk ish.- Concierge (two guys working there) were absolutely first class and sooooo helpful with arranging a Taxi for 6am in the morning. They are a credit to the hotel. Thank you. This would all have got 5 stars but it goes to show how some poor customer service on very minor issues can destroy your rating....1. There were no cups in our room to make tea using the inroom kettle so I visited the restaurant in the lower ground at 8am to ask for some cups that I could take back. Ohhh noooo what a mistake. The lady there looked at me like I was crazy and said no we cant give you any cups because this is a restaurant and made me feel very unwelcome there. Terrible customer service. Went elsewhere and got some disposable ones. Thanks Hilton!2. Hilton Reward points. Guhhhhhh! If you actually want rewards for spending thousands of dollars on multiple rooms for your family holiday you can forget it. Only credited for one room. What a joke.3. Receptionist messed up our room keys and after it was eventually resolved didnt apologise and said it was our fault the keys werent working. 4 keys all not working held by 4 different people but it was our fault. Attitude needs adjusted.4. Price of rooms, expensive but not untypical of NYC and we book 6 months in advance which saved 50% if we had waited until nearer the time.
Positive: I went over max characters in 1st review so this¿ll b brief. West tower IMO is better than East. Bigger windows and nicer bathroom with walk-in glass shower vs tub and shower curtain in East tower. Negative: Restaurant is lower level with no outside view but is well lit.
There were several reasons why I selected this rating for my stay at the Millennium Hilton at One UN Plaza on Valentines Day.1- I requested an early check-in (3pm) and it was granted, but ended up having to switch to a room on a lower floor because my original room still wasnt ready at 5pm. So I waited a very long time and had to switch to a less satisfying room to keep my schedule on time.2- Front desk service was terrible. At the time I arrived to get into my room, there was a long line with only one person behind the counter. I had to wait almost 30 min to get to the counter to try and check into my room (which still took 1-2 hours after standing in line that long).3- When trying to reach room service or concierge, no one answered the phones. I called repeatedly, about 5 or 6 times only to have the phone stop ringing after 2-3 minutes of letting it ring. When I went down to the front desk to see if anyone was there, there was one representative sitting there and it wasnt busy.4- No Ice available. When I looked around on my floor there was no ice box and there was no ice bucket in the room. I had to go downstairs, again, from the 36th floor, to try and get ice and was told by front desk that I couldnt get ice cause the restaurant was closed. I had to walk outside in the freezing cold to get ice and find something to put it in so that I can have cold drinks, which the refrigerator in my room was not able to do.5- The wi-fi network and password were not given to me at time of check-in and since the concierge was not answering the phones, I had to call room service to find out how to log on.6- there were items under the bed from the previous renters stay that I had to remove, which wasnt removed by the cleaning staff prior to my check in (and mind you, that I was given this room because it was ready and my original room wasnt).7- My digital key did not work.Overall this stay was not as relaxing as I wanted or expected it to be for my girlfriend and I. Im giving an overall experience rating of 2 only because of the view from the room, which has nothing to do with the hotels service. I probably will never stay at this hotel again. I have stayed at Hilton Garden Inns, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns, and Doubletrees, which are considered your lower end hotels, but had much better service than the Millennium Hilton across the street from the United Nations.
The only reason to stay is the look you get from 38th floor. Room prices way too expensive for the standard you get. Bathroom not fully cleaned, carpet looks like 20+ years old. Ceiling with cracks, no „good morning“ when entering the hotel. Breakfast far too expensive for what you get. Selection on the breakfast buffet looks like a 2 star hotel. Interior and Style like a hotel from the nineties. Not again…
If there is a ZERO star, I will use it to rank for Nicole, a front receptionist, on April 8th, 2022, at the Hilton Millenium Hotel United Nations. After multiple flight delays and reschedulings, we finally arrived at the hotel around 10:30 PM to check-in. The airlines also rescheduled us to fly back to Florida on April 10th at 9:00 PM instead of 1:30 PM. I politely asked this front receptionist about the late check-out because I was willing to pay extra to stay rather than roaming and waiting at the airport till 9:30 PM. She abruptly said with a discriminatory voice and rude mannerism: No. You need to check out on the day of your departure! I asked her if this hotel had a late check-out policy. She once again said: NO. You need to check out on the day of your departure! I asked her if it were noon. She raised her voice: 11 AM! I asked for her name. She became belligerent and didnt disclose her name. I asked for her name again. She also became belligerent and accused me that I may use her name when speaking with the hotel manager tomorrow morning so I could get a late check-out tomorrow.I talked to another front-desk receptionist the following morning, and she confirmed that the hotel did have a late check-out policy and wanted to know if I wanted to. I requested to speak with a hotel manager, and he (Matt) confirmed the late check-out hotel policy and was willing to help out, but I told him that I would rather fly home and will contact the airlines to find out if they could get me out of early flight if possible. I also asked Matt if Nicole was her real name, and he confirmed. I suggested Matt review the security camera last night to understand the situation. In my entire traveling experience, I had never had this unpleasant encounter before when a front-desk receptionist lied straight out of her face with a discriminatory voice and unprofessional behavior, surprisingly at the Hilton Hotel. I am sure that there are plenty of highly qualified applicants in New York for this position. I also wonder if Nicole has received any proper customer training. I have ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY in my business when my employee lied to my customers.I strongly encouraged Hilton Corporation, Human Resources, and Managements to retrieve the security camera on April 8, 2022, around 1:30 PM, and use it for employee trainings.
Positive: Wendy in the coffee shop. The staff overall was amazing, but she was so lively and everyone enjoyed her Snicker latte! I would honestly go back for the coffee drink alone. Negative: I think the river view was better than the city view. I would¿ve paid the premium for that view over the city. :/ I also don¿t like the fact that the room hood is $--- and it¿s still a hold on my card. Typically is $-- and refunded w
The hotel is old. What is more, hotel do not provide bottle water even I asked for.I booked 6 nights they said hotel only provide 2bottle of water when check in no more in the rest of night, Secondly, there is no fridge in the room, which I think cannot meet the standard of Hilton. Third, non-stop beep always annoying noise in the room. Last but not least, no one pick up the phone in the reception. This is an awful trip
Positive: Next to nothing. Maybe the view from the room? No friendly staff that greets upon entrance, but we definitely were ¿looked¿ at. Negative: Carpet was filthy, and there was an elevator blocked off I in the most messy, ¿we don¿t give a crap about the hotel we work in¿, type of way. Stepping off the elevator to our fl was like a scene from a ¿help this hotel¿ show. No managemen
Believe it or not, this is not a good hotel. I just got here and regret to select this hotel. The personel attitude is zero. Service is BS. The name caries a lot but nothing actual. There is no parking close by hotel. There is no business center which you expect from a hotel close to UN. Anyway come here if you dont have other options.
Positive: we like the heated toilets! the housekeeping staff was excellent. great tv. Negative: booked into the wheelchair accessible room. no dressers, or place to store clothes except the suitcase. Also the clothes bar was at a low level to accommodate reaching from a wheelchair, but the safe inexplicably occupied 2/3 of the hanging space.
Positive: Attractive hotel, attentive and courteous staff. We had a great view out our window of the United Nations, the East River and part of midtown Manhattan, including the Empire State Building. We loved the heated toilet seat! Room had a recycling bin. Negative: Its a little bit out of the way, although its a 9-minute walk from Grand Central. Room was a bit small but was comfortable and clean. (Ive stayed in much smaller rooms in NYC, though.)
Unworthy and 2-star, the worstest hotel where i was stayed, found nothing positive, need bypassing such hotels and need thrown out of booking.comdust, damage, darkness, poor windows do not insulate sound, do not sleep, the view of the skyscrapers ventilation system, which sparks a loud sound 24h ...
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I planned a birthday trip for my fiancé and I thought the Millennium UN hotel was going to be a luxury experience with excellent views. I was so wrong. I have never experienced such unprofessional and rude service from a hotel. Literally THE WORST. When we finally got to the room, it was filthy! During a pandemic! The sheets had a stain on it and there was a face print on the window. It was gross. There were ring stains on all surfaces around the room and there was dirt and hair in the bathroom!!! We immediately asked to check out of the hotel. The receptionist didnt even ask what was wrong with the room. She simply walked away from the desk and came back and said it was fine if we left and we would not be charged anything. We left and checked into a great (and CLEAN) hotel, the Hyatt Centric which had a great view of the empire state building. Michael and Rochelle at Hyatt Central made our stay so memorable. It was a relief. But to my surprise I was emailed an invoice from the Millennium UN Hilton charging me for 2 nights. I called the hotel and was treated like a scammer. They said they needed to investigate if anyone opened the room door. Needless to say, they did not say they still have not tried to resolve it.
Great location! Great stay! The services were just as I expected for this location. The staff was polite, professional, and accommodating. We had no issues with the room. The space was clean and all amenities were as expected. Everyone we encountered was professional. If I had one suggestion it would be that the front desk staff provide the list of dining options available in the area. Other than that - it was a great stay and we will definitely be back.
Enjoyed my stay at the millennium. Convenient location, good gym, clean room, welcoming lobby, and relatively quiet room on a high floor. Wish the gym would have been open after 1:30pm but hey, the fact that it wasnt was a good reminder that when in NYC, there are better ways to spend ones time than going to the gym!
Very good, clean rooms, fit with all the comfort amenities you didnt know you needed. The view is near perfect but that is to be expected. The thing that sets this place apart is the service. Quick and simple check-in and checkout. Would recommend this place to anybody!
Stayed there in the 35th floor..3535 for my milestone birthday..absolutely gorgeous rooms with awesome view of the city...so beautiful..but this hotel us kind a far from the busier places ..just over one mile or so from times square but the walk can be 25 minutes and by cab 15 minutes (20$)..not much food choices nearby....I personally felt that I could have taken a room near the busier places though it was more pricier, in winter because its easy to get out n get in..here once you come to the room..there is hardly anything to do in walkable distance..so quiet.otherwise..great place..everything was nice..if you d like to roam around all day n night..it makes more sense to stay closer to the times square or empire state n that way you can get to the hotel room very easily..all depends on your choice..
I was trying to book a room for 30 nights but after talking to a rude pig of a woman on the front deck at One Millennium UN PLAZA NYC , approx 2.30pm 4 times 20/1 , i asked to speak to Jason there but she kept putting me thru to central reservations.Central reservations said being 30 night stay that sales should handle my reservation.Sadly sales said it was not their job but the guy tried to help but he could not.I have stayed at this hotel , prior to Covid-19 , for the pervious 4 years for 30 days at a time each year, and this situation is not new to the Hilton chain.I was calling from Australia the 45 minutes the 6 calles i made were a waste of my time.
This Millennium Hilton is located right next to the UN building on the East River. The location is very convenient for a visit. The rooms are spread over ten floors on the upper floors. The view of the city is magnificent. The furnishings in my room were also high quality. The bathroom was spacious and had everything you need. The Wi-Fi speed was okay (20 Mbps). The on-site team seemed very professional but not very cordial. Unfortunately, the lounge was closed at the time of my stay. It would certainly have made the visit even nicer.
No hotel cart, so all bags are dragged upstairs by you. No dressers at all! Unbelievable! Closet has a low bar, and only 12 inches of hanging space. Internet free only in lobby. Awful towels. Coffee in the room is so minimal. 2 powdered creamer packets. No room amenities. Who pays $50/person for breakfast? Front desk answers no calls. The TV was nice.
I’ve rated this hotel 5 stars for the ease of driving to it, the customer service at the front desk, and the friendliness of the housekeeping members that I interacted with. This was my second stay here, and I love it. It’s only a couple of blocks to grand central, and a couple blocks past that is Times Square. My room was clean with excellent views of the city, the UN, and East river. I hope to be back soon!
Such a lovely, welcoming place, rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. As a first timer in New York with my family and ever changing travel restrictions due to covid, we found that staff couldnt do enough to help us and were very quick to offer suggestions and advice.
If you are traveling on the UN business there is no better place to stay. The UN headquarters are literally across the road from you.The rates are reasonable provided you book well in advance.Higher floor views are absolutely breathtaking thanks to floor to celling panoramic windows. Nice Coffee served on the first floor. Service is attentive and polite. If you arrive during especially popular UN events you can expect lines on check in/out.Air conditioning system is powerful. Too powerful to my taste, though (had to stay under the blanket not to catch cold). Depends on the room - if it’s not blowing in your face it’s all good.
I’m so glad I went to this hotel after I spent one night at the W at union square. The staff are polite and quiet along with a sweet dog who checks luggage before entering hotel. A cafe is in lobby and fast elevator I choose a corner king room (room3027)so happy I did enjoy rainy view because of hurricane but amazing view of river and city at night. Loved the couch and spacious room the curtains need to be fixed didn’t close all the way. Bed is firm and nice tv and very tiny fridge ☹️can’t hardly put a to go container or drinks. Not sure about breakfast didn’t get any information and left cafe because of long wait. Everything looked clean but most did wear masks I would definitely come back
Overall we enjoyed our 6-night stay here. The view was spectacular and the employees were all very helpful and nice. The only downsides were the room wasnt very clean when we checked in (we talked to the front desk and the cleanliness issues were resolved) and we didnt have a mini fridge in our room. We requested one our first night there and we never got it. Other than that things were smooth sailing and we wouldnt mind staying here again if were going to be spending a lot of time in Manhattan. Its in a pretty good location so you can walk to a lot of places. Plenty of dining and bar options within a 10 minute walk.
Positive: The room was spacious and clean. Negative: Our AC was not working and the people next to us were playing music at 11pm and the hotel didn¿t send anyone up to address the loud noise until we asked to switch rooms. We had to run down to our old room 30 minutes after we switched and they were loud
- door was creaking- wind was whistling through the windows- room was cleaned, but deep stains were everywhere, on the couches, on the carpet, even less visible parts of the sheets- underneath, the sheet protection was ripped- mini-refrigerator was deeply stained- all these, together, made you sick, were repugnant- the room was heavily used, albeit functional- the shower wall connection was splashing- receptionists were tired and lack enthusiasm or joy- lobby looked weird, with a mesh protecting from dropouts, like a grenade mesh sustained by ugly steel columns painted in black. Ive never seen anything like itHotel has great potential, but needs a revamp. I will never choose this hotel again and will never recommend it to anyone else.
Do not let the hotel give you room 3801. Its next to the elevators, and any time they operate you will hear pipes/metal will bang around in the ceiling. Its like a hammer hitting the wall / ceiling. We slept very poorly even with ear plugs. Cannot recommend this hotel.
Disappointing experience with customer service. I booked a trip and was to check in on January 13th, and well I would have loved to stay at this hotel and was very much looking forward to it, on January 12th, changes to my travel plans had to be made due to Covid. As I tried to get ahold of someone to see if I could late cancel, the third party that I booked through informed me that due to the hotel’s decision, I was not able to be refunded. When I called the hotel directly I was transferred to a manager, the line only went to a voicemail and I was unable to speak to anyone. I was only looking for at least a partial refund/credit or at lease a credit to use in the future. However, I am left to eat hundreds of dollars for the cost of 3 nights I had booked even though I never checked in and was unable to speak to someone about a late cancellation.
The view from the room is truly incredible. The bellhop staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and were very helpful. Cant say the same about the front desk, who upon check were not a friendly and welcoming. Make sure that if you are Gold or Diamond you ask about the Food and Beverage credit you are entitled to, they do not tell you. I only knew because I read about it in someones review and asked.
Positive: The location was great, easily accessible, and the staff on Sunday, November 7, was just amazing. Negative: I didnt like was that I booked this hotel specifically for the reason that you guys said parking available on site. It did not. When I informed the front desk at the hotel, a rude woman, said I know they list it but we dont have it. So false ads.
A good value, especially if you have Hilton points. Waterfront views are nice, 5-10 min walk to Grand Central, and they have fridges and coffee makers in the rooms (many NYC hotels do not have these). The door man was very friendly and helpful with motorcycle parking advice. It’s a bit dated inside and has some peeling paint. The rooms have high tech bidet toilets but they removed the controllers
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The city view was beautiful and wonderful to wake up/fall asleep to. The hotel itself isnt directly near a lot of things open and did involve a bit of a walk but we didnt mind. Being Hilton Members, we loved being able to get the digital key and check-in before the 4:00pm time. Quick walk to subways and Grand Central. Overall great stay.
POOR POOR POOR Customer service. Rude agent. Checking in took 25 min of waiting. After complaining same agent suddenly told me my room is not ready. I asked why, he said he doesnt know. I asked manager to clarify the situation . Finally I got a different room, half an hour of Hilton nonsense.
Almost great. The quality of the sleep we had there, for NYC, was terrific. The mattress was excellent, the pillows comfortable, the AC/fan worked well, soundproofing on the walls seemed decent. However, there were some stains on the carpet and wall and no coffee cups were included with the coffee maker. Even though a tennis court is at the hotel, we were told we could not use it--it was only for long term guests. Small details in the grand scheme of things, but I feel like these details do add up to the quality of the experience.
Nice views, but utilitarian and somewhat bland rooms. Also, what kind hotel charges $15/day for internet in this day and age?? A total rip-off! The hotel itself is a bit out of the way unless youre going to the UN. Check-in was fast, but it was at 10pm, so thats not saying much. I did appreciate the shaving kit, though.
The hotel was generally fine: large rooms, great views. My issue was with my specific room which had a constant, loud thumping noise coming from the air conditioning. While at first I didn’t notice it much in the evenings, by the third night, it was unbearable.I complained and asked for assistance with my luggage to move to another room but was told there were no porters at night. The staff was largely unsympathetic to the issue and the engineer who can to my room even commented the noise was persistent on this room. Why let people stay here then? The following morning I asked to speak to the manager for the second time and was told he would contact me. I was there for 5 nights and was never contacted.I understand rooms have mechanical issues and despite the annoyance of having to re-pack, I also understand sometimes guests need to move rooms. But unsympathetic, indifferent and rude “customer service” reps and managers who never contact disgruntled guests in unacceptable, especially for the rates being paid.FYI, I’m also Hilton Honors Silver but no one seems to care - perhaps too small a potato.
I booked a flight and hotel package through Expedia with the Millennium hotel as our accommodations. My husband and I got to the hotel late at night to check in. Come to find out, they state that Expedia “cancelled” our reservation last minute. We called Expedia and there was no cancellation on their end and it still showed us as booked for the room. We had already paid almost $1000 for the room. We spoke with staff at the hotel about it, and we were told that Expedia would have to “fix it” by talking to the higher ups. The hotel staff refused to talk to Expedia about the apparent mix up. We then asked if we could still get a room that night so we would have somewhere to stay and the hotel staff told us that our room we had reserved was still available, but we could only access it through our previous reservation and Expedia would have to “pull some strings”. We were 100% fed up with everyone at this hotel so we finally were able to confirm that Expedia could get a refund for us by talking to the hotel. And then we found a different hotel to stay in for our weekend. 3 weeks later, we find that Millenium Hotel STILL HAS OUR $1000. How could the room be cancelled if they still had our money?? All Millenium Hotel was trying to do was get Expedia to offer them more money for our stay. Millenium was clearly unhappy with the rate we had got our room for when we booked the hotel several weeks ago. This was clearly a shady, disgusting act on Hilton’s part and the employees. I am STILL WORKING TO GET MY $1000 REFUND FROM THIS HOTEL THAT WE NEVER STAYED AT! As we were trying to figure this all out at the hotel that night, we found several other people who were in the same predicament who booked through Kayak and Priceline!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Do not stay here.Stayed for one night and had dirty brown water running while I started showering. After I asked for a different room they said they didn’t have anything. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the water to run through and it was still with a brown tint, had to finish showering though. Worst part when I asked for full compensation, they did not do anything about it and I am still trying to receive a compensation for the night.
Positive: Friendly staff and room had nice bathroom. Negative: Filthy carpet in room and corridor, sofa was also very dirt. In-room dining not available, should have indicated that at check-in and on TV menu. No bottled water provided, streaming apps did not work, room very basic and nothing like photos on website.
The hotel has good location, far from the noises and crowdness of the city, easy to walk to any other attractions with many neqrby good choices of restaurants, shops and places to visit. Its in front of the United Nation building. The hotel is clean and safe. The chick-in and our process were fast without waiting and helpful staff. With greeting by bottel of water. The room is veey large, clean and quiet.Although the view was at the city, but because of high floors the view was amazing. Enough closet space. Iron and table as well. There is a coffee machine in the room. There was daily room cleaning. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast at their restaurant was above average.
This hotel is TERRIBLE with keeping up with reservations. my significant other and I had booked a room and just to follow up the day before we get there, they use an excuse saying “we can’t find your reservation”. literally the day before we were supposed to go. we showed them proof, even contacted the manager and they still said they can’t do anything about it. how disappointing! terrible job and communication skills, very unprofessional. I recommend going somewhere else that will not waste your time :)
The hotel rooms view is amazing, the room itself is good, clean and the AC control is ok.Unfortunately they sewm to have an issue providing coofe carton in the room, or they are cutting cost by putting only one carton cup for coffee use.The only problem is thet its not easy to reach the fitness center (gym) on the 27th floor, as there is only one elevator that can take you to it and you have to keep pressing the elevators buttons until the right elevator reach you by chance to take to you to 27th floor.
For the price point, this hotel is in need of attention. The king room we stayed in had ceiling tiles in various states of alignment, with most of the tiles in the hallway mostly out of the track. The bench at the end of the bed was stained. The bed skirt was stained. The mirror in the bathroom had a crack in it that was taped over with a piece of packing tape. Its just not in great shape for $459 per night.
The hotel is absolutely amazing, I consider myself to be a lucky man that Ive stayed there for couple of times. They have one of the most mind-blowing view for new york city. One of the things that I didnt like that the swimming pool was closed permanently as they said to me.Plus, no microwave service or ice machine....I think its ABCs of hotel industry.Anyway... I used the Iron to hear up some pizza slices. Lol
Stay away from this hotel!!!!!The cleaning staff came into the bathroom to clean while I was taking a shower!!!!Forget about guest service!!! They never picked up their phone and always got to transfer to another line and then transfer back. You have to wait on the phone over 5 mins each other when they pick up.They also ran out of amenities constantly. No shower gel, no shampoo…there is always something missing!!!Overall, horrible service at the hotel!!!! The management really need to look into this before it destroys the hilton brand!!!!!
It ok. Nothing exceptional. The views from the room is the only thing that is very nice, the hotel itself is very stero, the woman who register me was not friendly my bathroom and shower room gad hairs so my experience was just ok. I get very grossed out with other people hairs so for me us a no-no.
Who is Jimmy there in reservation part? So rude worst ever. I asked his name to complaint about his attitudes and he just hung up on me in the middle of the talks saying Why do I give you my name?. What a manner. I am on my way to stay there now. I will see how you will handle it.

2022-03-23We currently are staying at your amazing Hotel. We requested a room in the West Tower with an amazing view as said wanted to surprise my son and just one word stunning view. Staff at the front Desk is friendly and helpful we didnt book via the honor program still get treated like honors. Can definitely recommend this hotel for an amazing stay. Clean room and super friendly cleaning lady. Highly recommend this hotel to my family and loved ones.Only downside I can say is that we never seen anywhere mentioned of a deposit of 75 dollars per day, since we are Europeans we never like to use credit cards and our Master debt card wasnt accepted sadly.

2022-05-31Hotel was clean. Front desk staff was friendly.Room was neat. Got a really nice city view. Only concern was that even Hilton group is room service is facing supply issues. I called the room service and asked for and additional coffee supplies which we can use to brew in the coffee machine provided in the room but strangely they said that they are running short of supplies and they can’t provide anything. Apart from that the hotel is really Good. The restaurant in the basement of the hotel is fantastic. Great taste and service.

2022-06-19My 2nd stay and I keep saying I will be back.Location: Near the UN.Lobby: Clean, UN theme, seating areas inside and out, before check-in or while waiting for your ride. They can and will hold bags if needed will enjoying the city.Staff: Professional and friendly with great personalities.Safety: Had no issues with safety in front of the building or during my stay, even when I was alone.Elevator: Clean and safe, use key card to access floor another safety feature. The best partRooms: Spacious compared to many hotels Ive stayed in, as well as to be in the city. Some Ive seen some barely had turning space. Ive done both the king city view and king suite and I have not been disappointed yet. And yes they came with lovely view of the city as well as the East River.P.S. HILTON you have a gem with your Manager Zack and his staff they go above and beyond to keep the standards of the Hilton name and because of Zack I have already referred others and as for myself I will be back. Thank you guys so much!

2021-12-21We came here as tourists. It’s a very nice hotel, beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff is friendly, they have dogs in the front which I found very cool. The views from our room is amazing. The service was very responsive when we had requests. However, the bathroom sink leaked the entire time it was used. This issue caused everything around the faucet to get wet which is the reason for 4 stars. The fridge could use an upgrade as well as the curtains. There was also no microwave, and didn’t even know they had breakfast until my last day. Lastly, they didn’t come and clean one of our days with the reasoning being short staffed and we had to call. However, they came quickly after. Overall, I’d recommend! Great spot.

Super safe location & the view from our room.......WOW! Walking in from a long day in the city to see the city lit up.....yes!!! Touch screen controls for lights is cool! It can really set the mood you are looking for! Oh and the bathroom & shower.... lets just say you can have some fun in there!

2022-05-29This hotel was just okay. Me and my husband stayed here in mid may for the weekend and to be honest It was not really what I expected from a higher end hotel. For over $400 dollars a night. I expected more. The lady at check in she wasnt exactly rude but definitely not friendly or welcoming. There was no room service, no robes in the room, no reference guide for things to do in the area. Thank goodness Im a native New Yorker so I knew some of what was in the area but its been a while since I been too the city so things have changed up a bit, so any nearby restaurants or suggestions for things to do would have been nice. The view of the water from our room was a beautiful sight and the beds was comfortable but I would not stay here again. I had a better experiences for less at more budget friendly hotels.

2022-01-18We stayed for 4 nights and loved the hotel !The first night we had a great corner room with a fab view over the East River. The next morning we were given an upgrade to a room with THE best view of the Chrysler building and the Empire State Building. The room was lovely and very clean. We had breakfast in the hotel .The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was delicious but overpriced . $8 for a cup of coffee and $19 for smashed avocado on a slice of sourdough toast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and want to say Thank You to the lovely gentlemen on reception who gave us the upgrade.

2022-01-28Stayed here about two weeks ago, overall the stay was good, the room was spacious with a great view of the city. I had two different transactions on my card because i ended up extending my stay for a day and for both transactions they took out a security deposit that i have yet to get back, shortly after my stay the two transactions finished processing with the total correct amount but my bank account balance stayed the same, tried calling and kept getting sent to different departments and eventually hung up on, kind of a bummer because i did plan to come back but after all this not so sure. Recommend leaving a cash deposit because they will hold onto your money otherwise.

2022-05-31I only stayed for one night but loved this place! People were very friendly and efficient. The view from my room was absolutely gorgeous and the room itself was a lot more spacious than any other rooms you’d get at most of the hotels in nyc. The lobby had a nice small cafe and there are seats outside where you can drink eat and enjoy the jazz music they play in the morning.

2022-01-02Views from our room were incredible. The housekeeping was done to an impressive standard. Enjoyed visiting the UN Cafe and Ambassador Grill, very nice service! Overall a very good stay and would recommend. Its just a shame that free WiFi isnt offered as it is in the majority of other places.
