Mint House at 70 Pine NYC in New York
We stayed 4 nights and it was a great place/space for the money. Our 2 comments are on the AirCon which was quite loud (we could even hear the unit from our neighbors). As well as the lack of usable restrooms in the main lobby after you check out. Itโs a bit of a concern if you are waiting to leave or get picked up for the airport. Other that that it was a great stay.
We had such a wonderful stay at Mint House! First of all the hospitality was amazing. Daniel helped me check in and he gave me all the tips I needed for our little staycation. After that we got settled into what I like to call the โmini apartments.โ The interior of our room was modern and had all these unique portraits hung everywhere. The room was spotless and very well kept. We had so much space that we even had a kitchen! It definitely felt like a home away from home and we didnโt want to leave. The check out process was very smooth thanks to Gabrielle!
Kitchen was really clean & and service was really kind. It was like living in a really nice and modern apartment. I have never been to a better hotel! I have been to and Ohio, Mississippi and California hotels and so far in my life this one is the best. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is like brand spanking new. So if you are going to New York best hotel. I have been here 2 years ago last week a year ago and yesterday and so many other times and every time it was the same quality but got better every time I went there.
If you are looking for extra room for your family look no further. The Mint House was low key and very private . The staff was great across the board . Just a few blocks from the seaport on a quiet street . The coffee shop downstairs ( BLACK FOX ) is just as solid . After my stay at the Mint House itโs hard to imagine another spot .
Beautiful clean rooms! The rooms are very spacious and the upgrades are definitely noticed. The beds and duvet were comfortable. There is a nice selection of coffee and tea for guests to enjoy in your room and the delicious chocolate almonds were a great touch. JP checked me in and he was awesome to talk to and gave great customer service. I will be back!
As returning guests to Lyric@70Pine we were greatly surprised to see that the hotel had redecorated the rooms. A nice โwelcomeโ card was a nice touch. In January 2019 we enjoyed already the luxury of the spacious rooms and the wonderful service. Seeing the new decoration of the room we felt like returning home. The room is not only redecorated but also new furniture has been added. The daily service, for kitchen, bed and bathroom, works perfectly. Just like the very friendly service of the reception staff. Any question, any reservation, everything was arranged immediately. I surely recommend the Lyric@70Pine.
I ended up here after a disastrous AirBnB experience. After that I wanted a clean, safe, and quiet place to sleep during the 14 day quarantine period NYS placed on travelers from out of state. This hotel provided all of that and more. Not only was it the cleanest hotel Iโve ever stayed in, there was no noise even though itโs near Wall Street! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with allergies or respiratory issues. The rooms were also spacious which made work from home a breeze. The staff downstairs were kind as well. I canโt wait to stay here again.
Lets begin with cleanliness. I stayed for over 20 days. The cleaning staff are lazy and dont do a great job. Do not expect sheets to be changed often or for the place to be cleaned and sanitized regularly. Next beware of room size category. A one bedroom 2 bathroom has many sizes. From a spacious option with a couch/bed right when you walk in, a large dining table next to a full kitchen, a separate couch and living space. Then there is thier ultra compact room that is very small. A round table that sits 4 right when you walk in. Empty dead closet space with no hanging option or shelves. Only 1 couch that turns into a bed so if you use the bed you dont have a couch to watch and you lose all living area space. Yet they charge the same price for all within that category. Next they do not maintain the rooms. Remotes are missing, lamps dont turn on or off you have to unplug to turn off etc. Next thier staff. Hit or miss some are very nice others are rude and not considerate. The reason I gave 2 stars is because some of the time was pleasant while other times were not.
Avoid at all costs! This hotel is death trap barely hanging on and are thieves. I arrived to my unit with unclean linens that held nasty odors from previous guests and fingerprints everywhere. They lied and said it was clean and it was clear that their housekeeper could care less after complaining in Spanish in front of me to the young girl working the Front desk; offering a covid risk environment. They will also steal from your credit card and blame it on their system. Justin, the Manager charged me 4 times the amount for a 1 night reservation consecutively after I checked out. The staff are also sick coughing galore at the desk and stem from areas outside of Manhattan which make this hotel extremely unsafe. One staff person had to consistently step into the hallway because her cough was continuous and noticeable while I waited for my flight in the lobby before exiting quickly. The elevators didnt work and I had to wait a long time to get back upstairs. If you are looking for an unclean, unsafe, unhealthy stay that will cost you 4 times the amount on your credit card after checkout and leave you having to wonder how you will climb to your apartment - then this is the place for you. This place had empty halls and no guests. I can understand why.
SHADY booking practice! We booked this place months ago for 2 nights. We just received a call that said we had to stay for 29 nights to get the price we were quoted. Apparently you have to read the fine print to find out that detail. It was a $500 a night difference. Now we have to scramble to try to find another place.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Lyric in one of the creative suites and we didnt want to leave! We loved the quiet location and the close proximity to the subway. The hotel has great amenities and there are several places to shop near by for any necessities. The decor was exactly our style, and the record player in the room was an extra special touch. The staff was friendly and very helpful! We cant wait to go back again.
I was overly impressed and pleased with our stay here! The location was great. Very close to multiple subway stations and it was so quiet in our room, I almost forgot we were in NYC. Rob and Clarissa at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and very clean! Would recommend this hotel to anyone!
LOVE this place! Excellent customer service--Gabby was very helpful, friendly, and accommodated an early check-in as our previously booked airbnb canceled last minute. Studio rooms are exceptionally spacious (huge!), the bed and pillows were so comfortable, room was quiet & very clean. Kitchen had everything you needed to prepare your own meals & the market is just downstairs. Such a cool vibe. Definitely will coming back the next time Im in NYC.๐๐
Stayed in a beautiful studio for 6 days and it was wonderful. Loved the design, so much space and so well thought out. Itโs as if you live there for reals like a New Yorker.Right next to the metro station, and in a Art Deco building. There is a gym too, laundry also in the building, and the room has a record player for some nice NYC vibes. Just overall awesome and highly recommended!
Our stay was great, we were only there for a short time and we really enjoyed the room and the area. The room was very spacious and made it feel like you were at home. During our stay we noticed two personal items were missing so we called the hotel to see if they were able to locate them. The staff was able to find one item but not the other and we are sure we left them together, none the less it seemed very odd that only one item showed up. The room and locale is great but I would mind your belongings very carefully.
I visited the NYC Mint House property in December of 2020, amid the harshest of times for the hospitality industry; especially in NY. I am a restaurateur, so I have a keen point of view on hospitality when Im on the receiving end, with the highest of expectations. I must say that Mint House NYC has surpassed every expectation I could have dreamt of!I could rave about the decor; the sq footage you received; the cleanliness; the amenities and every other physical attribute one could wish for in a hotel, but what actually makes it even better (as if I wasnt already completely sold on being a repeat customer), was what I consider to be the pulse of this greatly put together body of a property... the amazing manager Robert Naeder, as well as staff Danny alongside a young lady whom name escapes me, but I remember it starts with an M. The care and service I received was second to none!In my travels I frequent hotels internationally and domestically, looking forward to receiving the highest expectation of hospitality as every day I have to ensure I meet these same expectations in my restaurant business. With moral amongst hospitality workers low with the state of the current pandemic, this can easily be lost. Well, not at Mint House! If you are looking for a place to say, be it business or pleasure, do yourself a favor and look no further than Mint House NYC.
The apartments are hotel rooms but with a kitchen. The room was nice and spacious. The aircon was terrifyingly loud, so I wouldnt recommend staying there in the summer. The hotel provides ear plugs already in the room, which are needed even if the aircon is off -- the traffic outside is loud and the wall doesnt really reduce the noise. The staff was friendly. However, when it came to payments they were struggling. I had paid with the wrong card and came back to reception some 20 minutes later to switch payment to a different card. They took payment on the second card as well and said it would take up to 5 days to refund on the first card. Then refunded on the wrong card and the wrong amount by about $150, solving nothing and costing me money. Not sure I would stay there again.
I want to start out by saying this is by far the best hotel Ive been to in NYC. I booked this hotel for Valentines Day they fulfilled every request that was submitted. I had the pleasure of speaking with Clarissa(I hope its her right name) and Gabby, they made sure my stay was phenomenal. They knew exactly what I was looking for, I usually dont do reviews unless its necessary but I have to give credit where its due. The room was so beautiful, spacious and CLEAN!! I will definitely be going back to Lyric Hotel.
Sprawling, clean, well-designed and tastefully appointed spaces (freshly redone) that have fully, nearly pro kitchens and your own record player w/ a borrow-based record collection downstairs. The staff is young, bright, attentive, without being too obtrusive. Overall vibe is more luxury Manhattan condo than NYC hotel life, though they clean your apt, and are happy to bring towels at all hours, even though there is a laundry room on every floor. Staying for a month and while its pricey its probably the best deal if you cant handle first last and security to move in somewhere atm. We are grateful. And enjoy being off the main Broadway Thoroughfare (though only a two min walk). Plus youve got Fo Sun Plaza. Dont know it? Go find out for yourself.
This was our second stay at Lyric and we are sure there will be many more.We love the spacious rooms and the art decor. Most importantly , we love the impeccable cleanliness .From the moment we entered the hotel the staff was welcoming , professional and helpful. We would especially like to thank Ariel, Kevin and Claritza for making our stay so pleasurable.
I chose to book this hotel for a short 2-night stay in Manhattan this past January 2020. I had already reserved a room elsewhere but found Lyric 70 the last minute and decided to contact them. I emailed to ask about the room and if I could do something special for my husbands birthday inside the room. I received a quick reply from the staff, specifically from a man named Robert, who answered all of my questions. Incredibly, he worked with me for about 2 weeks on a plan for my husbands birthday surprise, never missing an email or ignoring a detail. I decided quickly that this hotel was the place to be and booked! When we arrived for our stay we checked-in easily and made our way to the room. There were sweet, simple gifts for my husband and a darling little letter from the staff. I almost felt like it was my birthday too! We cannot thank Robert and the staff at Lyric 70 enough for what they did for us.The room: Spacious and comfortable, super clean and quiet. HUGE kitchen, dining, and resting space. We even had an extra bedroom and walk-in closets. I am not sure it was the room I booked, it sure felt like an upgrade, but either way it was WOW. Not a big view from our windows but that was no issue due to the size of the room. We didnt feel suffocated at all.Bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The shower didnt drain perfectly, a bit slow, but nothing to remark further about. The bathroom shampoo, body wash, and conditioner was so nice that I purchased some after our stay. Robes were comfortable!Kitchen has everything you need. No olive oil but we made it work. Coffee is great and the maker is super chic. :)Bed is amazingly comfortable. We were jetlagged beyond belief so that was heavily appreciated. Finally, the record player and sound system were pretty good. The building Lyric 70 at Pine is in is quite cool too, art deco style. Check it out!Thank you again to the staff at Lyric 70 at Pine for everything you did for us. We will be back whenever we come to Manhattan.Cheers!
I can not say enough things about this hotel. Not only is it spacious, but the things they have for their guests are top notch. From water to gourmet chips I love staying here. Also the most amazing restaurant is located in the building. The service is also outstanding.
I get home after checkout and realize my switch was left there on the bed under the blankets and the cleaning people stole my Nintendo switch and never gave it back despite us offering a 200.00 reward. They did give me back the jeans i left there so I guess its something. The staff didnt seem too worried that this cleaning person just stole my console and they didnt much care to do anything about it. I will be lodging a formal complaint later with the manager.
This is a very new hotel located conveniently to Suncorp Stadium and the nightlife of Claxton Street. Amenities were very nice. The double doors onto the balcony meant that we heard nothing from the street (and we were the level above the bar) Room service breakfast was deliciousthe avo and feta smash was great.
Me and my family spend the weekend at the lyric hotel in downtown Manhattan the hotel is new and have Hugh rooms very nicely designed with a full kitchen, the service is wonderful we had a little problem with our dishwasher we called the reception and they sent the repair guy in less then 5 five minutes.highly recommended
The Kaiseki is excellent and the produce top quality. The cleanliness of the room was well kept. We visited the Villa Rakuen section of Hotel New Awaji in February of this year and wow. The staff at the hotel were among the most attentive Ive ever experienced. A great gentle*** helped me with luggage.
My fav. hotel! Love that it looks like an apartment/studio, rather than a traditional hotel room. The interior design is awesome. Also, my boyfriend booked this hotel for my birthday weekend and asked the hotel staff for special birthday add-ons to the room. When we arrived there were beautiful spray roses, a birthday card, red wine, whispering angel rosรจ and a birthday cake from momofuku milk bar!!! I loved everything they got, the staff made us feel really welcomed and outdid themselves!I will definitely return to Lyric at 70 pine
Not covid safe. The front desk person (clairtza?) took down her mask to greet a guest she knew outside of work. Be forewarned you will need to consent to a background check and $500 security deposit, neither of which I have ever experienced up until now. The background check and deposit also take a very long time to go through so be prepared to wait a while for an email once you register and before you can actually check in.
The location and set up of the hotel is very nice. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the room. The staff made us feel really welcome and when we entered the room/apartment we almost could believe our eyes. Im guessing this is as big as you can get in ***hattan for that price. Its a hidden gem.
First off we stayed many times when this was the Q&A and thought it was outstanding. We stopped staying here in April of 2018. They started using a different service for their bedding and my daughter had a reaction to it. At least thats what the manager and I surmised. Since then we have stayed at the Assemblage which has the large square footage as well as the kitchen. Although it does not have an oven. When hearing that the Q &A had new ownership we decided to try again. It is much closer to the office on Water. Well..we were not pleasantly surprised. The living space in our room is wonderful. We like the new white walls..they helped somewhat with the dark feel of the rooms. The kitchen is almost exactly the same. The issues we had are as follows. Our first evening, my daughter went to take a shower and her bathroom tub was full of water and sludge. We called Engineering and they worked on it for over an hour....plunging and plunging while we ate our dinner. ๐คฎ we were than told that he had to leave and he would tell the front desk. Waited for a call from the front desk and never received one. Finally we called down and they said someone would be up first thing the next morning. So we got up early and waited. Called down at 9 and they said noone was here yet. Finally at 11:15 someone came. We were annoyed. No call from management...no apology from management. Not like Q&A at all. Btw...the toilet in the master bath was not working either. He fixed that as well. The other is no tv in the bedroom. I get it...when Im home I dont want a tv in my room. When Im in a hotel... um...yes! So...is saving yourself a few steps and having an oven worth it? We will see....oh...and I would come from anywhere in the city to the Black Fox!! โ
Ok Iโll try to make this short, I book this room on line, and they have 24hr check in. We came in around 10:30 - 11:00 pm and I had an issue with my credit card. I was working with Daniel and I was kind of nervous but I was lost and thinking Iโm about to be stuck here in the city with no room But DANIEL was very Kool and was more than willing to help he said ok give me a minute and see if I can work something out and boooooom he was able to look in his computer and do something magical and was able to get me in the room. He was very helpful getting tea and records (I believe each has a record play). All I can say is Daniel played like an MVP in the crunch time for me in a time of need! Iโm greatly appreciated for his help... also I have to give an honorable mention to his co-worker Clarissa when we called in she was breaking down and helping us with the decision of getting a car or not and just being they are personable and not just a worker.... I love staying here this place is the truth!
Didnt think it was worth swapping a room for but could be a bit unnerving. What is wrong with the service I was 3months pregnant and it was boiling outside and I was really feeling sick. The entrance to the hotel was difficult to find because of construction and scaffolding on the building when I was staying.
Had a great stay at the Q&A residential. The room was much larger compared to typical NYC hotel rooms and had a full apartment-style kitchen. The room was out of this world and the staff was aces you get a full apartment which is unheard of in ***hattan. A short walk to Ground Zero and Hudson river.
We had an excellent stay at Q&A. The 911 memorial and ferry to the Statue of Liberty are within walking distance. Black Fox coffee shop on the lobby level was a huge plus for fussy Australians. I reserved the room to be cleaned at 12 at noon and it went well for a few days.
Very friendly staff. Everything was clean. Our every requeat was met, including clear detailed advice on what to do in New York City. I would visit again but perhaps once all the proposed works were completed so as to make full use of the tall building and appreciate its appearance.
The moment we entered the old building on 70 Pine Street we were amazed by the architecture. I like how the modern decor contrasts with the Art Deco architecture. Everything is only a couple of blocks away at most and it is perfect for being in ***hattan but not near times square. The Subway is just over the street and it is spotless clean.
Nice hotel and the interior is great too. Definitely spacious given nyc price. Check in process was a little nerve wrecking because there is almost no space for a car to park outside you need to park partially by the curb. But the thing is I saw a car got ticketed for doing so hence I was wary about doing the same. I had no choice though because I had luggages. The other option to park elsewhere and drag my luggages across streets was not feasible and considered at all. They provided umbrellas in the case of rain.
I could not be happier with the hotel from a service standpoint and the overall layout of the rooms but more importantly the staff and how youโre treated is top notch the Experience Iโve had there working with Robert Is the same type of service I received at luxury resortsI would highly recommend this hotel to anyone trying to stay in Financial District of New York City
This place is the closest u can get.to a luxury apt when renting a room for the night ..that is the 100 to 150 and night11 range if nothing specjal is going on near it in the city the avaerge hotel room would cost you...music.decor in the halls and building has orginally amazing wood.steel and marble in the entrance areas and 1 st.floor..room every has album amd a.record player to.play the album (LP){{vinyl))..
Here you get a nice smart hotel, with excellent beds and an apartment that you could only dream of. The staff is wonderful. It is the little things that besides good cleaning, make the place great. For example. that we got water with us on the trip to the airport, that every day there was a packet of delicious coffee for the morning coffee, of course brewed on our own slowbrew jug.We lived in a one bedroom apartment and IT WAS JUST DELICIOUS!
Great hotel, very nice and well located, well received and very good apartment very clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had a very good week. Indeed it is a little noisy because of the city but nothing that prevented us from having a great time. I highly recommend this place.

2022-04-28Our family had a great stay at Mint House! Very spacious and well equipped apartments although quite dark (high rises everywhere and therefore also no view). Beautiful old art deco building. We had groceries delivered upon arrival which worked perfectly. In the basement there is a bowling alley, a gym and a screening room - all included. And a nice supermarket with lots of ready made food and an entry directly from the hotel. Nice bakery and deli shop just around the corner. Subway entrance literally in front of hotel entrance - line 2 and 3 will take you straight uptown and makes it very easy to visit the city.I would highly recommend this place for a stay in NYC with kids and when you want to have a bit more space than just the usual hotel room.

2021-12-20Stayed in a studio here for a couple of months. Much bigger than a typical hotel room. Comes with standard kitchen stuff such as utensils, cookware, and plates (no rice cooker though sadly). Internet was pretty fast and stable all throughout the building (except elevators). One con is the lack of sunlight due to the surrounding buildings and Mint House only occupying floor 2-6 of 70 pine. This was further compounded by the somewhat lacking lighting inside the rooms.Excellent location for the 2/3/4/5 trains (which go uptown or to Brooklyn easily). Good selection of food within a 5 min walk (my favorites for everyday were Dig and Blue Park Kitchen). The attached grocery store was convenient for small/rushed purchases but grossly overpriced for consistent shopping. The 24/7 front desk was awesome. They did a great job with packages and guiding food delivery people upstairs. The complimentary cleanings were well done (remember to ask for them if you are staying for a while). The few times I made requests (extra hangers, some Lysol, etc) they were granted quickly.

2022-04-10My family and I stayed at Mint House while visiting New York City this weekend. The residence was superb. Very clean and spacious, and easily accomodated our family of four. The hotel staff was friendly before and during our stay. We even had groceries delivered on the day we arrived. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Mint House management for an absolutely awesome experience ๐.

2022-01-23Was here for a few months, place was really spacious and clean, but the rooms tended to be a little dark. All the cookingware I needed was provided and the cleaning service was great every time they came by. They even accommodated my 2 large cats, and were kind enough to let the catsitter in when I was on vacation. If you meet Kelly at the front desk, shell definitely handle anything you need with ease. I knew I could trust her to get the job done whenever I talked to her.Overall a great stay.

2022-05-20The good:1. By now you know that the rooms are huuuuuge! Too big for me but not a reason to dock a star. Just a lot of dead space and a strangely small bathroom for the size of the room.2. The full kitchen if you need it.3. Ridiculous amounts of closet space if you plan on staying for quite some time. The bad1. Getting into my room. The code worked when it wanted to, and never on the first try. Had to go to the front desk on two occasions to address. Accessing your room should be easy. It wasnt for me.2. The water. My bathroom water went from scalding hot to cold without me touching the faucet. I informed the front desk and the issue wasnt fixed. The so-so1. The gym. It was large but some of the equipment feels older than dirt (eg the bikes). Would likely satisfy most people but I feel like the space could be much better. There is apparently also a subterranean gym but the attendant didnt seem to want to allow me to see it. Strange. My experience seems like the aberration and thats all good. But I simply needed to get into my room and have a hot shower, and both those things were an issue. Not going back.

2021-10-01The rooms were incredible, so much space and so clean! Location was great too, so easy to get anywhere in the city and away from the hustle and bustle. They were also able to validate parking at a nearby lot which was great. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again!
