A little overpriced but good food. Best yucca fries Ive had in awhile, if ever. The server would not let us split the checks because he said it was too hard and when we asked a manager, he said it was no problem. Server also rung us up as a 6 person table when we were only 5 and a to go order so that the gratuity would be included.
We came for the DJ (Acito) but ended up staying for food and cocktails! The Vegan Mushroom Tacos were soo yummy! Hapoy there were a few vegan options to choose from. The bartenders know how to make drinks and you can taste the fresh ingredients. Only thing is the Host is kinda rude. Not sure if he is just Uber focused on trying to seat people but he def lacks in social skills and greeting customers properly. I have worked and owned restaurants and his customer service is very dry and stern. Other than that our waiter was so cool and he totally took care of us. Will be back and hopefully to be greeted by a smile 😉.
Matt and the staff were great offered alot of information on the drinks and food. Checked on is in between our tacos. Highly recommend the Blacker than berry margarita. So friendly and relaxed atmosphere so needed after the 3 month lock in..Cant wait to come back. Thank you for all your service.
Great food, fun atmosphere, and fancy, unique cocktails. Good for tapas and small plates. The tostones are a must try and the dessert gelato is served in the most interesting flavors such as; chocolate Chipotle, tequila salt and lime, strawberry basil jalapeno, etc.. these are a delight and pair nicely with a plate of mini churros! Dont forget to sample the house hot sauces, tasty and firey, yum! 🔥
Ryan, Kyle and, Tom are all great. Our server Ryan went above and beyond. I definitely recommend the drinks here. The Blacker the berry is really good. Also the shots that they made were amazing. The tacos here were also really good. I will definitely come back here and I recommend this place.
I NEED MORE STARS!!!! Whatever you do, before you leave this earth...go get the Chicken Lollipops, youll thank me later. Super cool vibe, murals are awesome, drink menu is delicious and that food menu is incredible! Think a taco truck but sitting down with some awesome people. And yes, youre pretty...so go let them feed you tacos!!
This place was so bad Id give it zero if I could. We had rice and beans which seemed as if the beans came right from the can.... watery and flavorless. The plantains were so dry they were inedible. The street corn was just mayo and paprika. The tacos were underseasoned and a huge disappointment. You couldnt pay me to eat here again.
Staff were efficient and friendly. Went for dinner before a show at The Paramount. Decor is nice, music a little loud and freezing cold. My wife and I were shivering. The food is mediocre. As other reviewers noted, the food is bland. Mission nachos were the beat of all the things we ordered. Rice and beans are not seasoned at all. Its almost like there is a salt shortage there. The dipping for the yucca fries was too much mayo and very little flavor. We had sprouts taco and fish taco. Ill rate them 2/10 just no flavor. Will I return? No. Plenty of other food options pre show.
Such a great spot! My family and I (husband, 1 kid, 1 baby) last minute wanted a place to eat on a Friday night after visits the Tree/ Santa. It was so so cold and we were so hungry, and didnt have reservations. We walked in and the staff were soooo accommodating and accepting of us with our stroller. We were seated in the back corner, plenty of room for stroller. Great service & wait staff.Accommodating for my 5 year old - he got orange juice and chicken fingersWe got the two bowl options. Delicious and fillingDrinks were great too!Fun vibe! We actually didnt mind the loud music bc it helped the baby stay asleep :)
The food was good, however the waiter was extremely rude! I came in with my friends sort of last minute so I didn’t have my debit card or drivers license on me — but I did have cash and my passport. I ordered a margarita, and was asked to show ID. Our waiter accused my passport of being fake and told me it wasn’t a valid form of ID? Then, he told me he could serve me if I showed my debit or credit card to match my name which I politely told him I didn’t have on my person. He asked how old I was, and I responded with my legitimate age of 22, and with the NASTIEST attitude says: “how are you twenty two years old and don’t have a debit card?” I tried repeating that I left it at home, but he walked away and took a very long time with our order, which is usually fine I don’t mind waiting (especially on a weekend), but given the situation I believe it was intentional. Overall: the food was great but the service was not so great
After a long work week, I was looking forward to going to dinner on a Friday night. I have to say this will be the last time I go to Mission Taco. The service was horrible and it was so loud you could not carry on a conversation. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We ordered nachos as an appetizer. After seeing the table, who came in after us, receive their nachos, our waitress said ours would be right out. Our main course (which was horrible), came out first. Only after telling the waitress we never received the nachos, did they arrive. An hour after we ordered them. She did not once apologize or give us a reason as to why they did not come out as as appetizer. Unacceptable. I would have given no stars if that were an option.Lifelong Huntington Resident.
Extremely disappointed. Reservation at 8, had drinks, apps and dinner and was handed check at 8:31. Not an ounce of ambience. Drinks so watered down my margarita tasted like limeade. Basically paid 70 dollars (5 drinks between my husband and myself) for a shot of lime juice over a packed glass of ice. And I asked for premium tequila. This was a second visit and we gave it a second chance. Don’t waste your money, Taco Bell at least provides some anticipation in the wait to get your food in the drive up lane.
Tried to order online. Got order confirmation and was told 20 min. About 15 min later (after we already left to pick up the food) I received a text saying my order was cancelled. I called them and they said their online system does that often (maybe take down the Order Online option, in that case?) We were already outside the restaurant by the time the guy offered to make our food and we didn’t feel like waiting, so we went somewhere else and was told we’d get a refund. So now we have to watch for the $50 to go back on our card, I guess. Not a great experience. Can’t speak to whether the food is good. I’d recommend going elsewhere though, somewhere they can actually manage their orders properly. Plenty of other options in the area, not worth the hassle.
Good food and a nice ambiance. If you want to have a GREAT time ask for Ryan as your server! As a business owner specializing in service I can assure you that you will be ecstatic about him as your server. I will go out of my way to ensure hes working before I decide to go! Thank you Ryan for always making it a memorable time!
So tasty its insane. Made the mistake of filling up on appetizers before being able to fully appreciate and finish the different varieties of tacos I got. Nice place with a great vibe. Like a hip bar but lighter, less noisy and more family oriented. Nice mural on the wall, great bar area, cozy area to eat in booths where you can talk intimately and a fun neon sign in the back for possible pictures.
The food at Mission Taco is outstanding. The drinks on the menu are fun, unique, and delicious. The service is fantastic, especially the managers. They do a great job at making sure the dining experience is exceptional; of which it most certainly was. Overall, Mission Taco is a Mission success and it passes the Huntington Village test. Definitely stop down if you have not already. It should be a stable in the village for quite some time. I am so glad they opened this up. Get the lollipops, best item.
Literally the best nachos weve ever had. Has a great list of options for vegetarians. Went on a Saturday night at 630pm with 4 kids including a baby and we were done in an hour. Appetizer, dinner, dessert. 60 min. Perfect for when you need to get in and out quickly. We saw lots of other families with small children and didnt feel out of place. Hope this place survives. They deserve to. Huntington village can be tough. Great food, great service. Old school hip hop playing... Im thicker than your average poppa.
I thought the food was awesome. The atmosphere is something Huntington Needed. The staff was very nice and well trained. The managers made sure our experience was great. The Drinks were delicious and we thought our food was one of the best Mexican dining experiences we’ve had. I’d definitely go again, and soon. Mission Taco is a success.
What a great experience. The decor is amazing. The whole spot is trendy and feels like a hot spot in Brooklyn. The drinks are innovative and artistic. Now for the food, if you are looking for creative authentic tacos this is the spot! A lot of vegan options that I loved and the cauliflower app is simply delicious. Thanks Mission Taco we will be back soon.
The tacos or should I say the one $7 taco I received was not good at all. There was no flavor to it and the salsa is the worse I’ve had. It did not taste like a salsa. They charge everything per piece. I got the guacamole which was $12 which I think is ridiculous for mashed up avocado that was not seasoned. The only thing I did like was the fried sweet plantains. I don’t think I would try this again. I was so excited to try this and have tacos and I would rather eat at On the border which has a lot more flavor. Tacos are overpriced as well for one piece which they did not explain. Also the server had a bit of an attitude in the beginning since I asked her for a separate check since I work with special needs adults and needed it for work. She softened up at the end but that was a turn off as well. They really need to work on seasoning their food!
What a great place to hang for an adult night out or with the family. The selection of tacos was more then enough for everyone to find their favorites. Everyone loved what they ordered. The atmosphere was beautiful and inviting. Don’t forget to get a drink! I loved the Mission Margarita. The staff is super friendly and our food came out with very little wait. I’ve already been back. I can’t wait to go out for another adult evening.
The food was delicious. Great place for a Saturday night. The servers were attentive, the managers checked on our table. Drinks were also good. Tacos were great, the staff who ran food made sure we knew which taco was which. Fun place in Huntington. Definitely going again.
Very limited Mexican beer selection. Bartender was more interested in talking to woman than getting our order right or making sure we had everything we needed - for example no napkins! Did not get our order correct due to trying to talk to the girls. Oh and this is the best I can say! Food was totally without flavor and served cold! No one asked about having salsa or hot sauce or anything that we may have wanted! The sauce would have helped this very poor excuse for tacos. You only have to drive a few miles to get real Mexico/Central American style tacos that will have 5 times the flavor-4 times the service at half the cost - u will not be in an artificial taco bar but a low cost dive type place. They can keep their artificial style, flavor and service / as a sanity check try speaking Spanish to the staff - you will get a the same puzzling look that we had when our good hit our mouth!
The place was nice and the drinks were good but the food needed more seasoning. Most of the proteins were a little on the bland side. It was a pretty busy night and it seemed like the kitchen/service was making mistakes and rushing food out so Ill give them another shot. But with this place just focusing on tacos, most of them with similar toppings (just different protein or veg versions), they can at least make them properly and with more flavor.
I went there Saturday night with my friends for the first time and I was so impressed with the interior design but that’s not all i was impressed with. The staff and food was absolutely incredible. The food runner was also extremely knowledgeable about everything and was incredibly nice. He recommended that we save room for the tres leches spongecake and his recommendation was spot on. It was the best I ever had.You can count on me returning again and again and again! Thank you so much!
Every time we go we always have wonderful experience, weather we go for dinner or simply just for their amazing cocktails they never disappoint. They have delicious food With lots of option that will definitely make you want to come back. Once you try it I’m sure you will also make it one of your favorites toco joint. They have beautiful decor with great lighting. They also have a huge 30feet hand painted mural that will amaze you every single time. I almost forgot to mention that Mission toco has great vegan/ vegetarian options too. A must try and a great addition to Huntington village. Thank you mission.
Self proclaimed “mami margarita” it’s safe to say I know a good margarita. This place has it. Bartender Manny always makes it right - very few ingredients, you can taste the tequila, they don’t use sour mix. ✅ ✅ ✅ The tostones are really good here too. Don’t come here expecting an authentic taco experience - it’s not that. It’s a taco joint with good music, chill vibes and bomb drinks. I come here more often than I should. If my review made you come here and you see me- i expect a margarita 🤣😋
Food at Mission was killer. The drinks were awesome especially the Mission Margarita with foam. The food was delicious, the Chicharron, Tingha, Carne Asada, Barbacoe, and Tuna were delicious. The lolipops were awesome. Desert for the churros were also great. Pretty good prices too. Our server Ryan made the night even better, personable, caring, and pretty funny. he definitely recommended some good items and made us at home. Rest of staff were also nice and extremely attentive to everything. Definitely coming back soon enough. Can’t wait to try some of the other food and drinks on the menu. Place fits in the village perfectly.
Ive been to this restaurant 4 times now, and every time Im blown away by how great everything is! Their food is delicious, the drinks are outstanding, the atmosphere is welcoming, and their service is fast and friendly. My favorite things are all of their tacos (especially the tofu chorizo one - delicious), the churro dippers, and the spicy margaritas. By far one of my favorite restaurants in Huntington!
The full experience would be best described as meh. Cost: Chips and salsa should be gratis at any taco joint ( that’s what they want to be called according to the mission statement on the website). $4 for ~15 chips and 1.5 ounces of salsa. The tacos were just okay, nothing worth gushing over but at $5-$6 each the certainly could have been more substantial.Food: Tacos definitely lacked flavor in the protein but the cabbage was good. Otherwise each was a small variation from each other so while sharing we thought...”oh, yours tastes like mine”Service: A classic situation of simultaneous over service and under service. Pushing one specific app super hard which actually made the experience funny. Ordered a beer on the can menu and they must have been out ...so they replaced it with something else without mentioning the replacement and had to return the replacement. Placed an order for three different apps and one made its way to the table before having to enquire about the rest...of which one more made its way but never all three. One in our party ordered a second beer...totally forgot to bring it until the server returned with that “what’s wrong” look. Support staff looking to clear plates from the table mid-bite which is highly annoying since there were empty table and they didn’t need to turn our table for another guest.Overall there is far better Mexican a block away with impeccable service and food that has never disappointed. Sorry mission taco...high hopes were dashed in this visit . Not likely to return unless someone that I trust tells me that you have turned it around
Great Time at Mission Taco.Drinks were fresh and delicious, Tacos were full of bold flavor and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. Our server, Emmett, made some great recommendations (chicken lollypops were reeeealy good!) and we had a blast. Cant wait to come back!
Dined here with the wife on a Saturday night. Nice vibe. Big bar scene. Not too noisy. Love the cool mural in the dining room. Good selection of wines by the glass. The Rioja Reserva was excellent. Ordered the guac and street corn appetizers - winners both. The seafood tacos - tuna, breaded fried Dorado, and shrimp - were all really good. The wife did not like the power bowl which had way too much quinoa and not enough veggies. Very attentive service. GO.
The tacos were ok. They all seemed to be missing something in the taste. The best one was the mushroom. I had six different ones. The pork, the brussel sprouts, the shrimp, the foie gras, cant remember the last one. The service was great. I probably wont go back because I would much rather eat at Dirty Taco.
Much needed addition to the Huntington libation and dinner scene. Awesome unique craft cocktails, authentic tacos and some. The aesthetic and position right on New York Ave is a great spot to be in the center of it all. 90s west coast hip hop on the radio while we were there was a plus. We will be making this a regular spot for sure.
Worst experience ever. there was a bug frozen in ice in my friend’s drink. if that wasn’t bad enough there was a fine black hair under one of my tacos (I have thick red hair). the salsa is liquid with seeds and doesn’t taste good at all. tacos are tiny and overpriced. Bill was $57 even with all the compensation. No redeeming qualities at all.
Music was extremely loud to the point it was hard to hear across the table. We commented when we walked in and the hostess said shed see if theyll lower it. It stayed loud. Some of the tacos were good, others I wouldnt order again.Service can definitely improve. Waitstaff and bussers need more training. Ill try again in the future once its more established.
It was amazing! First time going there with my girlfriend tonight and the staff were all friendly, the food came out quickly, it was fairly priced considering its Huntington, and the atmosphere was great as well! Above all else, the food was amazing and I cant wait to go back again!
I might Be over simplifying the taco but to me if this is all you do (no entrees no burritos) the tacos have no reason to be less than excellent. Unfortunately for mission this was not the case. Both my gf and i were Completely underwhelmed by the tacos. I had One of each of the barbacoa, chicken tinga and carnitas taco. My gf had the tuna taco. We also ordered the Mexican “street corn” which came in a bowl not on the Cobb and was meh and an order of tostones which were flavorless. On the plus side our margs were solid and my gf thought the guac was good. I thought It was good but to me that’s a gimme if you’re in the mexi space. Also the music felt like we were in a bad club - cheesy and loud and didn’t match up w a Mexican concept. We both thought this place will be out of biz in 6 or so mos that’s how underwhelmed we were
Overpriced, it has a lot of great indgrediants in their tacos but sometimes too much is not always good. Personally id rathet get a real taco, cheese, meat and lettuce with hot sauce on a big tortilla not the small orginal ones that are made from corn fall apart and dont taste good. The place is deffinately beautiful and the bar is excellent!
From the hand painted mural and the industrial-esque lightning to the local music and natural ingredients, this place just begs to be called a Hot Spot. The food is fantastic, all natural ingredients and hand made on premises, and the cocktails are all fresh squeezed. Reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere will cement Mission Taco as a must-go landmark of Huntington.Welcome to the neighborhood!
My office tried ordering lunch from Mission Taco the day they were scheduled to open, only to find out that the opening was delayed. This was disappointing, but we decided to try again in a couple of weeks because we were very excited about this new place. That brings us to today. The first sign of problems was when I called and asked to place an order for pickup and was met with dumbfounded silence and placed on hold several times. The order was eventually taken - over $90 in food which included 11 tacos, street corn, 2 orders of guacamole and the pretzel with queso fundito. When my coworker came back with the food we were quite a bit disappointed. The queso fundito was basically cheese water with a rock hard pretzel and cost $15! The guacamole we ordered was one sliced avocado in a bowl! Were we supposed to smash it ourselves? And mix it with what? And eat it with what? The only saving grace was that the tacos tasted really good and really authentic. We just dont know if they were worth $5 or $6 each for the size that they were.We called to solve the confusion about the guacamole and were told that they dont serve guacamole. I brought to their attention that it is clearly written on their menu. After some more silence we were told to come back to pick it up and return the avocado (really?). When we went back we were given the tiniest (think salad dressing) container of guac. We had to refer to the menu again and point out that it was listed as a Table Share appetizer. So they got a bigger (think soup) bowl and filled it about 2/3 of the way. Ok, now what about the chips? To which we were told that chips only come with salsa. We had to repeat again that this was a Table Share appetizer and ask what they would do if we ordered this in the restaurant - would they serve it without chips? Bells finally went off and we got our chips. There seem to be a lot of kinks that need to be worked out at this place. Hopefully they figure things out. Maybe the experience is better if you dine in. The tacos were delicious, but stay away from the queso fundito because its a rip off. Thankfully there are a lot of lunch choices for us in Huntington village. Maybe well try this place again after weve tried everything else.
Street tacos in a bunch if different varieties. We went as a group on of 6 and were sat rather quickly for a friday night. Attentive and knowledgable wait staff. Someone delivering a drink spilled in on the table and promptly returned with a replacement shot and apologies. Try the spicy margherita and def do not skip the plantains!
I don’t understand the two negative reviews. It’s not a fine dining restaurant. It’s a cool and fun place. The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and tasty. The dishes were clean, the staff was pleasant, and the drinks were fantastic. This place is a hot spot. Stop hating on it. Great place.
Place is absolutely beautiful and food is fantastic. the tacos and other dishes are innovative and a great place for couples to go to for mexican drinks and food date night or friends just hanging out,the owners are attentive making sure your dining experience is a fun one!
If I could give zero stars I would! This was single handily the worst experience that I’ve ever had at a restaurant before. The server purposely ignored my girlfriend and I the entire night. Other tables were having problems too and they didn’t seem to care about it and were content with having their customers having a poor experience.
We were there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm in the middle of January. We sat at the bar....There were people taking pictures of the place I guess for the internet or website.Which made us very uncomfortable. Then a group of about 16 people around 25 years old came in and were rowdy and loud.We understand that its Saturday afternoon and its busy since it was a nice day out but we were casually dining and we were interrupted by this nonsense. We will never eat at this place again or spend any of our money there. This is very sad because we usually go out to dinner in Huntington three to four times a week and graciously spend money at each restaurant......Sadly to say we will not be returning...
I dont think I can properly express in words just how great this place is. Tostones were phenomenal, you can never go wrong with a beer pretzel, and the shrimp and grits were an absolute favorite :-) Their tacos are amazing - the octopus brought tears of joy! The jack fruit carnitas, sprouts, and mushroom asada are mouth watering vegan alternatives. Everything about this place is on point - the ambiance and decor, the incredible staff, their obvious LOVE for what they do! We hope for many fine dining experiences at Mission over the years.
Walking into Huntingtons Mission Taco was a lot like walking into the trendy modern mexican spots around NYC - just in a wider building. Its a really nicely decorated space, and will make for a great bar scene after dinner service on weekends.Cocktails were great and theres a small but meaningful selection of tequila and mezcal to pick from. The Chips served with salsa with the drinks were stale/chewy and we had to get the bucket refreshed. Later servings were crunchy and all good.Three different tacos made up my main course; in order of recommendation: Barbacoa, Chicharon, (fried) Fish Taco. Both the Chicharon and Fish Taco suffered from being over-fried, with the core flavors of the meat overwhelmed. A few bites in the Chicharon had enough meat to satisfy, but not all. The Barbacoa on the other hand was richly flavored with jus and meat aplenty.

2022-02-05Great atmosphere, people and food! We come in as often as we can and are always happy. We recently celebrated our baby shower here and they did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Mission Taco for a nice night out or your next big party.

2022-05-06If I could be 100 stars I would! This place was amazing from the food, drinks, staff, ambiance, decor, music and vibes. I definitely will be coming back, so if you needed a sign to go this is it. You will not regret it!

2022-04-17Although this location has a great atmosphere the food leaves much to be desired. The location seems to be more focused on its bar half then it’s dinning half. First if you going to charge 7.50 for one taco please insure that it’s at the least hot. I ordered 3 tacos all cold and lacking with taste. Second the menu need need to be better put together combo platers should be included to maximize the menu and minimize the use of paper see as its on a clipboard. Lastly if you want to portray a taco restaurant at least pick what style what want you can’t have traditional Mexican well paintings but play old 2000s r&b this is confusing. If none of these things can be fix at the least heat up the food please cold food is disappointing.

2021-07-01Had the 4Alarm Blaze margarita...lives up to the name with a kick. Service was good. Atmosphere fun, the music is all club remixes so hypes up the vibe. Tacos are solid and definitely a fusion...but the drinks and atmosphere are what youre paying for here

2021-07-05I really liked this place. Such a cool vibe, great drinks, tasty food and fantastic staff.I stopped in on a hot day to sit at the bar and watch a NY Mets game. This was the perfect spot. It was cool and comfortable....plus had everything that I was looking for.My bartender Brendan was awesome. He was engaging and a great conversationalist. He loved working there and definitely took pride in the quality of the food and drinks that they served. He made a killer Margherita...I had three! And the maple bacon appetizer was off the charts delicious. The staff loves this place so much that Ryan, another bartender, was there eating lunch at the bar on his day off. This is a place that I can see myself spending alot of time! I cant wait to go back!

2021-11-18I love me a good taco spot and Mission Taco did NOT disappoint! I wish I remembered to take pics of the food, but it was just too good! By the time I remembered, the food was all gone, lol. But their nachos were amazing! I would come back for just that alone!

2022-03-07Dined here for brunch on a Sunday! What a great time, the music was great and the ambience was nice. The food was also good, a little hot for me in terms of spicy, please note I can’t eat jalapeños but taste was great. Our server was very nice and had great table side manners, and the sangria was delicious! Overall great time!

2021-07-10Atmosphere was great, the chips and guac saved a star being lost, but food wise, you can do better. Going to a place with “Taco” in its name, you’d think they would be good at making tacos…Over salted, over spiced, over cooked dry meat. I want to give this place a second chance based solely on how the place looks, which is amazing. I hate leaving bad reviews, so if I go back and have a better experience, I will give a new rating.

2020-12-30I love the work bowl and power bowl (vegan) combined with the fried tortilla chips. We did substitute tortilla wrap with lettuces on tacos (sounds weird but they actually taste good and low calories). The cocktails are good and creative. Our waiter, Ryan, was very friendly and attentive to our need. He took care of my friend who had too spicy pork belly taco and substituted it with delicious steak taco. The Guacamole is sadly overpriced and not too good
