I thought it’d be a nice place to grab lunch. The staff were really nice and ordering was a breeze. I ordered food to go but… how can you not provide a spoon or a fork or napkins when I’m ordering takeout? I’m not just going home to eat it…. And then the food that i ordered was just way too spicy for me. I only ate a very small portion and now i have heartburn. Too much ginger taste in the veg manchurian fried rice. And i really thouhh there would be gravy or something but no, it was dry manchurian. I had to waste an hour at Dollar Tree waiting on line to buy my own forks to eat anyway. I don’t think i’ll get takeout again but maybe ill try eating dinner here with family and ask for spiciness levels to be mild.
Mithaas has never failed us!! ME AND MY FAMILY LOVE MITHAAS AT HICKSVILLE!! From the Uncle at the register to all the people working, make us feel at home, and respectfully help us with our dining arrangements!! DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FOOD!! THIS IS THE CLOSEST TO AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD IN THE AREA!! We drive 1 hour for our family night dinners here!! I absolutely love this place and highly recommended!! I’ll be backkk soon! Thanks Mithaas!
My family’s favorite Sunday lunch spot. Uncle ji is so nice- very polite and respectful. He is very attentive to any concerns. Great service, great atmosphere AMAZING food- best vegetarian food in Long Island. They are so quick with preparing to food. Food comes out fresh and hot every single time we came to this amazing restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if your in NYC!! The best restaurant 10 out of 10!!! I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
My family and I were very content with our visit. We’ve been here before but we have always ordered small things to go. Today we dined in and ordered a variety of food. The service was amazingly fast even though it was busy. The food was spectacular. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and was very delightful. We have some picky eaters in the family so when they’re content we know the restaurant is really good. The staff and the owner were super sweet. I definitely recommend this place !!
I went to Mithaas Hicksville with my family after a gap of 7-8 years and it was a very good and pleasant visit there. We ordered different dishes. Food which we ordered was delicious and the service was 5 star service. Service staff served with smile and also attended other customers with smile which was a soothing experience. Here I must mention about Anoop. He was a great help to us. Very polite, helpful and cheerful person. Overall we had a good and delicious time over there. I will definitely recommend to my other family members and friends to visit Mithaas.
If u r looking for best street food in NY dont go anywhere else other than here. This place has best food and owner is so nice and kind.Staff is courteous.Try every thing here manchow soup, sev puri dahi puri, idli, bhel puri, dabeli, vada pav, pav bhaji ,falooda or whatever u feel like eating. It is best place to eat
Pictures and the happiness those delicious foods brought to our faces speak for themselves! 💛 I’m writing this review as I wait to pickup my food after coming here three days in a row. No joke! I first came here to try out North & South Indian food with my partner the first day, and (to note: we eat out almost everyday at variety of places), so to come back here with my family the next day from Queens and again today to pickup dinner should be a sign for you to give this place a try.REASONS TO VISIT: 1) Food is for the win and price is conveniently decided for each item ✨ 2) Clean place all throughout with parking lot outside that actually has spaces hahaha, 3) Well behaved staff and a lively environment to the point you can keep a sound conversation amongst the little bit of chatters which isn’t bothersome because everyone’s mostly busy enjoying the foods! 4) Fast serving right after you order at the counter and easy to-go boxes places by the door. 5) If you don’t want a sophisticated and private feeling to a dinner, but enjoy some time with good food (to satisfy your munchies for Gol-Gappa and such), this is definitely the place to go!REASONS TO PASS: 1) If you wanna miss out or try completely different cuisine haha. But on a serious note, 2) If you want some privacy or have important conversations over food, then this might be a place to try later.Overall, This is my new favorite and I definitely love this place as a vegetarian myself. Favorite picks so far would have to be 1) Pani-Puri. 2) Aam Panna (first try and in love). 3) Veg Hakka noodles that they made without onions (grateful!). 4) Masala Dosa. 5) Pao Bhaji that my Honduran partner loves now! (So here I am, reordering to have for dinner again haha).Thank you for running this wonderful and yummy place! :)
We love Mithaas! Not only do they have a fresh variety of sweets, they have amazing appetizers and entrees including dosas. The staff is professional, carefully listened to our menu selections, and noted all allergy limitations for our son. The food came out hot and fresh and the service was fantastic! We arrived with a party of 10 and they were pretty busy but we were taken care of!! I’d highly recommend Mithaas to anyone looking for a quick delicious Indian meal.
Excellent food and services. Have tried several dishes at this place and all the dishes taste so good and yummy. Family and friends who so ever I have taken them to eat at this place have enjoyed the meals. Owner welcomes you and make you feel at home. Mithras is my favorite place in Hicksville to enjoy the food.
The quality has been degrading day by day! They used to have the best snacks and fast food in the town. Never eat their salad and onions given with Channa Bhatura and Puri they are probably packed when the restaurant was used to under old management and has mold to it. Ordered Some snacks and got the green sauce and yogurt which was also bad and stinky! Check before you eat their food. Not worth spending your hard earned money on the food that can make you and your kids sick!
Best experience ever!!!!!! BEST FOOD!! Service was amazing. I specially came from Los Angles to New York. This was the best place to eat I ever went in NewYork, It was my first time. FOOD WAS SO DELICIOUS. I LOVED IT. I Will definitely go back. Thank you for your service.
First of all Mithaas is not a restaurant, its a fast food shop, and this shop is totally ripped off, First all food items are over prices, second they charge you 15% service charge for what ? Noone come to your table to take order, you have to go to the front to place an order, no full service, I spent $147.66, 0ut of that $38.21 ,, 15% service charge $17.92 tax $10.29 and waiter cash tip $10So you just spending $38.21 for eating nothing and food is over price, so basically $70-$75 dollar food you are spending almost $150 at this snack shop.
The food and service here is always top notch. I dont really see the negativity that a lot of other people have commented on in the reviews. The food is always warm and fresh. On the off chance that something isn’t prepared to your liking, they do not hesitate to fix the issue. 10/10 would recommend
Mithaas is our go to place for dining in, out and party orders. They have an extensive menu and absolutely delicious tray orders.. every time our guests appreciate how fresh and tasty the food is. They have the best thalis for dine in... our latest party order picture here
WOW… never knew if I’d like Indian food or not. The owner made it so easy for me to try a bunch of things and I’m blown away. Thanks again can’t wait to go back.2nd TRIP: If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The owner was even more kind and accommodating even with the restaurant being extremely busy tonight. He even greeted me by first name when walking through the door. That to me shows someone who truly cares about what he does. Can’t wait to go back.
Best and most authentic food, especially indo-Chinese food tastes like straight from Indian street food. Never found any place like this in/near Chicago. I definitely recommend going here, also the service is great. Staff very helpful and takes very good care of their customer.
This is my first time eating all vegetarian restaurant, the restaurant was very slippery but very clean. I dont really know the name of these dishes but my uncle knew what these were and they were supposed to be the best it was decent but could be way better. Also got a mango Lachi and a faluda the mango Lachi was pre made tasted way too sweet. The faluda like artificial tasted like a rose. But overall in my opinion it was okay could be better in your opinion we all have different taste buds so I give it three stars.
Hello Indians in the states who are missing that mumbai ki chaat, dhabe di punjabi thaali and halwai ki cham cham this is your place.I have visited this place twice and it feels like home.Food 5/5 (My favorite is ‘Raj kachori’, give it a try)Service 5/5 (The manager is so helpful and down to earth)Ambience 5/5
About a year ago my girlfriend & I discovered this establishment and we are now regular customers. I am a fan of Indian food & this is the best place to get a variety of dishes. It is a relaxed ambiance and the staff is super welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They are always very patient and helpful when we want to try a new dish. I highly recommend the vegetable samosas, sweet corn soup, potato & cauliflower dish, the naans, rotis & dosas just to mention a few.
I was so excited to try this place out being that its closer to home than Jackson Heights. But once we got there we werent treated as nicely as they were treating everyone else. Once we got to the counter one guy asked what we wanted, as I proceeded to place an order for some sweets he literally walked away from us and didnt come back to help us, another guy came to take our order. He told us itll be 10 minutes for 2 orders of pani puri and 3 orders of rasmali. Cool. No problem. As we sat there and watched literally 8 people that were behind us be served with smiles, got their food, and began to eat, we continued to wait for our to go order for an additional 30 minutes!!! For pani puri and rasmali!?!? Disappointed. I really wanted to like this place, but I didnt. I was turnt off by the lack of professionalism the two men had, so it kept me from ordering all the different foods we wanted to try. I really got the impression that we werent Indian enough. The sweets we did purchase were extremely fresh and some of the best weve ever had, thats the ONLY reason Im giving two stars. The pani puri was subpar, Ive had better, the puris werent fried completely that they puffed up all the way, so it had chewy edges it wasnt light and crispy like the ones Ive had in the past. They also had random people walk in to use the bathroom, and instead of waiting in line toward the dining area, their kitchen is completely open and the random girl off the street was just standing in the kitchen waiting for the restroom. That was a little weird, I dont think anyone off the street should be able to be in your kitchen.
Great value, great taste. The food is very tasty and the portion size is big. Authentic Indian & Indo-Chinese street food. The chai is also nice and the portion size is also good. Very hospitable staff and great desert / sweet selection. We ordered the pao Bhaji, medhu vada, szechuan noodles, Manchurian rice, gobi manchurian, and Ras malai…all excellent. Excellent, friendly customer service too.
Came here yesterday for lunch and had a great time! We had the mix veg pakora, channa bhatura, and badshahi falooda to drink. It was all very delicious. I especially liked the channa bhatura, the flavors were wonderful. We also bought assorted sweets to take home. Im not sure the names of all of them, but they both look and taste great! Inside the restaurant was very nice too, it was very clean and bright. Im looking forward to going back and trying more.
Awesome! I was totally impressed by the quality and quantity of the food at this restaurant. We were few of us ordered varieties of food and got to taste everything and it was delicious and we did not have to wait too long (although I’ve heard there is an insane crowd at this place during evenings). The place is very clean as well. A must visit place for foodies.
I loved the food here at Mithaas Hicksville. We tried Chana bhatura, shahi paneer, lachha paratha, rice and mango lassi. Food was fresh and delicious, Good in quantity too. The atmosphere of the restaurant was such that we felt we are sitting somewhere in India and having our dinner. This place definitely has that Indian vibe. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I would definitely go there for that delicious shahi paneer. Thank You.
This was my first time eating Indian food and I had such a great experience; eating the food and enjoying the restaurants environment. It had such a modern style with touches of beautiful print everywhere you look. We had garlic naan, Dahi puri, vg saala noodles and the mango lassi. AMAZINGGG!!! Everything came out nice hot meaning it tasted soo fresh 🤌🏼
This is the first time I visited the Hicksville outlet. Amazing food and service. The Chole bature is undoubtedly the best. We also tried the Mithaas thali which had an amazing variety. Last but not the least - we wanted to try something authentic and order makki di roti and sarson ka saag. The saag was definitely one of the best I had in so many years.
Great food, very rich flavors! Not expensive or overrated and good portion sizes. The only thing is it’s pretty busy and the system is such that you have to get a table order food tell them the table number, and they serve then.So next time you want to dine in get a table first.100 points for chat 👌🏻
You want good Indian vegetarian food this is the place, cooked in Indian Punjabi way and delivered with a smile. It is but of a cafe ordering style no doubt, meaning you order at the cash and they deliver but it is comfortable and family oriented. I have always enjoyed it whenever I went with the family.
Love this place!!! Amazing food. Treated us like family. Owner was very hospitable and friendly. Despite the incident today which I feel so bad about it their service was great. Thank you for the best Indian food. We got channa bhatura and Aloo pyaz prantha and it was delicious.
Your most highlighted Menu item Channa Bhatura - Mithaas Special !!! . Bhatura was good. Chana tasted terrible. Over or under cooked spices left bitter taste in mouth.Channa Bhatura is one of the most basic Indian snacks. Moreover, this seems your signature dish. It has to be perfect. Please take care of that.
Last time I visited this place was pre Covid, so lots has changed since it reopened including ownership. The food however is still as delicious as before, but the service was lackluster. I guess we can blame that on the place being super busy. We ordered traditional Indian food along with info-Chinese and their Famos Khori. The restaurant in housed in the complex that also has an grocery store, so we were able to finished 2 things.
Great service but food was okay. Dosa was the best, super light and airy and stuffed with nicely seasoned potato mixture. You may like this place if your really into patoora and non traditionally spiced cholla. Im a huge fan of halwa puri so in comparison I did not enjoy the patoora. But if you are into that then do give this place a try. However the masala chai actually was horrible. It had waayyy too much ginger. The mughali sweets were worth a try as well.
The food was very oily and one of our dishes had a plastic bag tie in it. They gave us another dish as compensation but who would want to eat more after that experience?! There was no hand soap in the ladies toilet and i had to wait for a long time for them to come and add some. Our table was dirty and i had to ask twice before it got cleaned.A waitress also came over with some food that we didnt order and so she had to take it back.Ive had some tasty sandwiches from them before hence the 2 stars but this experience was a bad one after which i wont be going again.
Conveniently located in the Apna grocer strip mall about 3 doors down. Warm and clean decor, head directly to the counter to place your order & they will bring it to your table. One critique, the menu needs to be a bit more descriptive. Excellent vegetarian place for lunch when you need to get in and out. Whats most unique and fascinating, is the menu features dishes from regions all over India (including Manchurian style) and they do it up authentically from all corners of the country. Definitely something for everyone. We had a yummy thali, cheese dosa--very light airy and flavorful, dal makhani--the butter flavor came through just needs a bit more fresh ginger, and A MUST TRY: papri chat--the BEST ever (show the photo, attached, to the person behind the counter to insure you get the right dish). Desserts are ok, recommend that you stick to the savory dishes. Our server was a delight too.
Loved our visit to Mithaas restaurant. If you are ever in the Hicksville area and are craving Delhi style street food - definitely try this place! Highly recommend the chili garlic noodles. They have a great selection of sweets as well. Great customer service - the wait staff were so kind and certainly go the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. A must go!
We first visited this place when they just opened. Probably because it was super crowded and they maybe couldnt satisfy everyone, we werent really happy with the food. Went again recently. Tried the Amritsari Thali and Mithaas Thali this time. Loved every bit of it. Portions are huge though. A thali can easily be shared with a friend. Will definitely go back.
The food was very bad nd I order pav baji they good pav so bed potatoes is not good test I eat only 1 spoon nd second day I have pain in my bally my husband order alu tikki chat they dont give me chatani nd chat test is so varied I m not go again. The food was very bad my money going to west.
Best authentic Indian food in town of Hicksville. They have a good variety of most Indian cuisine, the manger Mr Hans is a pleasure to deal with.Never had any issues, I have been going there for few years and it’s always a pleasure.Even though they are busy sometimes, but the service is fantastic. Highly recommend!!
I took our visitor from LA here with very high hopes. We ordered shev batata puri. First bite of shev puri brought tears in our guest’s eyes. It was extremely spicy. So spicy that it literally burnt our tongue. No joke. We have been experiencing this inconsistency in the quality & taste of the food in past few months. On the other hand other stuff we ordered was good but couldn’t enjoy it because we had already lost the sense of taste to EXTREMELY SPICY shev puri. Really disappointing.
The best Indian Food in Long Island.. Their chaat items as well as their indo Chinese food is out of the world. Their customer service is even better as the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Their Hans manager is always accommodative of customers needs. Overall the best place to go for indian chaat and north indian food in Long Island.
Went there first time today. Ac was broke the only thing k ordered were 5 soda cans they charged me $15.46 which also includes 15% service charges. I had to call the guy and ask him to give me the menu since we’re ignored for few mints even tho they were doing nothing. Worst experience ever. Don’t recommend going there.
Nice, mild food, reasonable pricing, looks clean but by the end the clean part vanished when a crew member brings the water jug and I saw his thumb was in the jug dunked in water I told my wife not to drink from this and we left the place, management should have instruct their workers that dont lean over food, wear sanitized gloves and make sure dont put fingers or thumbs in water or other items. Never go back there, and you should too if youre clean quality conscience, because whats looks good doesnt mean it was prepared with cleanness
Wow what a service and food I been here last night with family omg my entire family was amazed by the food and the quick service we tried many dishes each one of them was outstanding Chana bhatura pani puri and saag was out of the world above all the smiling faces of the serving staff was unforgettable definitely will come back inshallah.
Mithaas is all time favorite of my family best food outstanding service today it was crowded but the owner was making sure that everything is good by visiting all the tables and the boys are amazing smiling faces they impress everyone who comes in. Will be back soon.
This is my second worst experience with mithas first I ordered raj kachori taste was awful and now second time Worst samosa chat i have ever had there was hardly any samosa in it only a small samosa and lots of chana and taste so bad lots of tamarind sauce in it..wat a waste of hard earned money..wont go there again Highly Disappointed 🤮
This is second time I come here. Last time I had the Vegetable Biryani and it was very good. This time I went for the Mithaas Thali. It was ok. I passed on the buttermilk-type sauce though. But its a nice dish, or should I say tray, to experience a variety of flavors. There is a surprise round treat that was unexpected. Save it for last.
Great variety of Indian dishes, snacks, sweets and drinks! Chana bhatura are really tasty! Staff is friendly, place is clean. The quality and freshness of Mithai (sweets) could be better, sometimes it’s dry. The prices of food dishes and sweets are a bit high for a snack shop self service place. However, if in the area and in the mood for some Indian snacks it’s worth stopping by!
Super fast service, delicious food, kind staff! This restaurant is PERFECT for any occasion. Not sure why people are saying slow service, I’ve come in with a party of 12 and still food starts arriving within 10 minutes. The taste never fails to amaze me. Even with large parties everyone has a good time. The menu has every variety: South Indian, Punjabi, I do Chinese, EVERYTHING!!! Love it here, I come every time with guests. Thank you mithaas!
Unmatched food taste. Love this restaurant!the place is a bit crowded, very limited space. There should be long wait times if you arrive at peak times. But its all worth for the food.I love this place for giving unamericanized indian food. Dont forget to grab some sweets :)
Mithaas is a go to place for us when we think about going for Indian food. The variety of food they have along with the flavors brings me back to India. The food is delicious and their customer service is the best . Their attention to the needs of customers is absolutely unmatched. Love coming here.
I wish I could have more stars because their hospitality and food is beyond incredible. I came especially from Milwaukee to get the sweets and try their menu. I highly recommend to everyone because I’m pretty sure whenever I’ll come back in the future to New York, I’ll always visit here.
Great place with great service. The variety in food is abundant, delicious and fresh. The service is top of the line less than 5 minutes of wait for them to bring out the chaats. Noodles and Thalia were amazing as well. Vegan Mayo is awesome as well. There Masala drink is awesome. Must have!
We heard a lot about it so we went there yesterday and ordered pap bhaji that was ridiculous and bhaji was awe full.... it seems like they mixed all leftover veggies in it .... when we complained... they replaced it with this burned paneer tikka.... baddest experience
Out-of-stater here: we were in the mood for Indian cuisine and stumbled upon Mithaas. What. Luck. My friend and I got 2 separate dishes and ended up splitting them because we couldnt decide which was our favorite. At the end of our meal, I asked to be served what the owners favorite treat was, and he did not disappoint. One of the best dining experiences. Everything was absolutely delicious!
About 2 years ago I gave this place a 4 out of 5 star rating. After several unsatisfying orders now.. sadly I have to give a 1 out of 5.I ordered samosa chaat, and it tasted horrible. Tasted like old left over chick peas put into the chat and too much tamarind sauce.I also ordered veggie hakka noodles. There were no veggies in them, it was just loaded with unflavored dried noodles. It was not even a busy time when I had gotten these items to go. The only reason I gave this a 1 star is because the person answering the phone and checking out was nice.Sorry Mithaas, I followed from your Edison, NJ location and now I will not be coming back to you guys.
Went on a Sunday night. I thought it would be a slow night but turned out to be very busy. Its hard to see the menu on the TV screens behind the counter. There are too many choices in small print. We ordered the grilled paneer Tikka and the chole bhature. The paneer was good, came out sizzling and was pretty tasty. My wife asked the server for some lemon to squeeze on it. He said ok but we never saw him again. Chole bhature had 2 big bhature but the chole bowl was a little small and too much liquid in it and not enough chole. Also the bhature although large were a little on the soft side. Ive had better at other places.
To experience the best vegetarian Indian food in New York, Mithaas Hicksville is the place to go to! Undoubtedly the BEST chaat in New York along with all your other favorite vegetarian dishes! I am a regular customer for years and I cannot recommend this place enough!
I’m kind of familiar with Indian food. But I know that when I’m craving it I need it! We happened to be in the area and googled places nearby and came upon Mithaas. It’s kind of like smashburger where you order at the counter and they bring out your food. The staff was so friendly and helpful and even we even did a “surprise us” for our appetizer. Everything was so good! Mind you, this location is vegetarian. We are not vegetarian but it did not matter. My favorite thing was the bindi masala. I had the mango lassi which was very tasty. We rounded our meal out with a couple of desserts and some coffee. Just a great spot with welcoming vibes and delicious food with lots of variety. I guarantee that you will leave full.
Mithaas is one of my favorite Veg Indian restaurants. They have very delicious food and good variety. My children relish their food and sweets too. Perfect place to eat when craving for yummy foods! The owner was very kind to us and came to our table asking if we liked the food and if everything was good.
Mithas is one of my favorite vegetarian Indian restaurants. They have very tasty food and good variety. The perfect place to crave for my delicious dinner! The owner was very kind to us and came to our table and asked if we like to eat and the staff service there is also very fast and good.
I have been going to Mithaas Hicksville for about 3 years now and always leave there satisfied. The food is always delicious and I find the service is always fast regardless of how busy the restaurant is. I especially love their Indo-Chinese dishes, but honestly, everything I have ever ordered here is spot-on. Also to note, I am highly impressed with their vegetable biryani as well as their samosas, which come well-stuffed! Thanks for providing such great food to Hicksville and surrounding LI communities!
The food is good. But the inconvenience of the place outweighs the food. The line where you order is also the line to pick up take out is also the line that you pay after your order. You pay after you eat. It’s very chaotic and only one person working at the cashier. I stared at my takeout for 15 min as I waited online to pay. People that wanted their checks paid ahead of me. Phone calls were taken ahead of me. Good for the business to be busy but some of the busy is inefficiency.
Mithaas is my go to Indo-Chinese restaurant. This place was my second Indian restaurant when I was first introduced to Indian food. The food is a good variety so you can really get all the good tastes. The owner is so sweet always making sure we are happy with our food and it comes out of the kitchen fast and hot. The desserts are delicious! If you’re thinking about giving this restaurant a try, DO IT!
Decent restaurant. It is clean, and they serve food in a timely manner. Quite frankly, the food itself is nothing great, it is like any other Indian restaurant in long island, but sometimes the food isnt fresh. Its fine if you need a quick bite to eat, but definitely not the place if you want to get a full meal.
My review regards catering from Mithaas;I worked with Hans for catering. Everything went swimmingly. Hans was easy to work with, communitive and quick to respond. He helped me get the food delivered as well. It arrived on time, hot and truly delicious. I knew the food would be good as Mithaas has great authentic dishes, but sometimes with catering you worry of other complications; but they got it to Huntington (30 mins away) still piping hot. Good work all around. Would use again without hesitation.
This place is wonderful . Customer service is amazing. If you are craving the taste from back home. This is the best place to come and enjoy your food at. The owner is very down to earth and cares about customers needs. Food is very delicious. I recommend their Bombay grill sandwich. Bhaturas are great. Milk Badam is good. So really recommended.
It was a nice place, but now it is the Worse. I live 65 miles away from Hicksville, But I was still going there with my family till yesterday, 09/08/2021. Food was cold, had no taste, no one knew about what customers ordering and what they were delivering.Whenever I go Hicksville area, I always stop and have Food from Mithaas but not anymore.Even I called staff to show them the bugs around and top of the Food table too.NO MORE MITHAAS HICKSVILLE!!!!!Bye 👋👋
Mithaas is one of the best places in NY that I have been coming to for a long time. Their chaat reminds me of Mumbai - their Sarson ka Saag and Makke di roti reminds me of Delhi and their Dosa’s of Chennai. Where else would you find the taste of India. Love coming here and would give them 10 * if I could.
Not every place warrants a review but Mr. Haans (owner) deserves a standing ovation! He has done a wonderful job at creating a unique, quick, home-style fast food establishment! The food is far more flavorful than the competition...with respect to all the flavors offered on Mithaas menu...the majority of the food is a home run!Id say its extremely difficult to deal with the type of clientle the modern generation offers (pretentious and entitled) but Mr. Haans is always smiling, ready, respectful and gracious.Give it a try!
Mithaas is my go to Indian restaurant in Hicksville. This is hands down the most tasty place to eat with an excellent staff to go along with it! They never fail to deliver the most prompt service and quality food. I eat here at least once a week for their most delightful vegetarian options.
Quality going in to the drain day by day and price going up , they used to have very good food , now it’s garbage they serve stale food rice looks like 2-3 days old and paneer makhni cold, samosa and bread pakora has no taste in it . So please do your self a favor, save you money and stay away from this restaurant 👎👎👎
Service got better than before but food was hardly ok.We ordered thali and few different types of chat. Bhelpuri was bland, rajkachori was lacking lot of filling, just had boiled green sprouts, and the worst was the shahi falooda, I would say “if you don’t know how to make it just say that. “ They should name it Rose Milk not shaahi falooda.
I used to love this place. Their food quality and taste . But now post COVID the manager is changed and we were really unsatisfied with few pick ups. Instead of fried rice , noodles were given , also the food quality has gone down for sure. The other day I saw the manager apologizing to the customers. Happy about it . But still people waiting for food in long line do not want his apology ,rather their order ready. Put trained people who can understand the customers and serve accordingly. Hope the management reads it and takes necessary steps. Good luck !

2022-05-15Absolutely amazing food and service. They honestly had such great fresh food and the quality and quantity of the food was great. I was there with my best friend and nephew and we all loved the food. Even my nephew who is just 13 months old enjoyed their food. The person who was taking our orders was extremely sweet and kind, honestly he made the experience more home like. We didn’t feel as if we were in restaurant. Would definitely be going back sometime soon!

2022-01-10I’m an American born Bengali gal and my parents have been missing that street food experience that they had in their country. I had a few every now and then but Always sensed they missed it. Went here cuz of my uncle and saw such a childlike glee to my parents so i was ecstatic for them. I couldn’t eat much. If you like spicy food… DUDE the spice level in this establishment is quite spicy indeed with awesome flavor. AND the service made me feel good too. The owner greeted us and even made sure everything is okay. Such a sweet and kind gentleman. Definitely recommend this spot! For the food, and hospitality!

2022-06-03I understand a little bit of Hindi but still..my friends that came did not at all. Yet whomever was there to serve us spoke in Hindi instead of English.Thankfully my Aunty knew how to translate because I was highly disappointed in the fact they even spoke a language I do not understand thoroughly.I personally would not recommend anyone I know to come there again.Food was great though.

2022-05-07This place is incredibly delicious! We went for Mothers day brunch on a very gloomy and rainy day. We ordered channa batura, Raj Kachori, aloo piyaz paratha, Aam Panna, mango lassi, masala chai. Also got injeer halwa and some brown halwa to go. Both were equally delicious. The service is quick and pleasant. The place is very clean. Would definitely recommend everyone to go if you are in Hicksville.

2022-01-21Me and my friends, we all went for a dinner at their place and the best food ever! I would recommend y’all to go and try their food once. We LOVED the tandoori soya chaap. Pav bhaji, Dosa were good too but everybody should try the soya chaap. The only thing i think needs a little more improvement was the idli’s we had with sambar. Besides that, everything was perfect! The environment, the staff, the place was clean and the food. Here’s some photos and videos we took.

2021-12-12Excellent food and service! Mithaas is the place to go if you want to try pure authentic Indian street food. I would definitely recommend Sev Dahi Puri out all the foods we tried! Take a look at the image! It was fantastic! I found some items to be a little pricey, such as $9 for 2 vada paavs, but the taste makes up for it. We will go back definitely!

2022-07-06Consider this as a Mithaas annex and not the real deal from Edison, and you’ll have a great time.Hot prepared food is done locally. Anything not hot is trucked over from the mothership in NJ. If you happen to go on the days that the truck gets here, you’ll love your experience. On the off days - perhaps not so much.Sweets, lassi drinks, other cold prepared items are where you’ll find this difference.Paranthas, bhatora, hot dishes are fantastic. This is a North Indian place, personally I found the dosas and southern dishes better elsewhere in the Hicksville area.
