I think the menu is interesting! I had a lobster croissant. The lobster meat and glaze used was amazing. The croissant was unfortunately hardened on the bottom and soggy on the top. It had been sitting in the window too long, you can tell from the temperature of the food vs the temperature of the plate. The atmosphere is delightful, the outdoor seating is a perk. The service was just average. We had to ask for a couple of things multiple times. Drinks were forgotten and towards the end so were we. Short staffed?
We absolutely loved this place! It felt like a local secret and it really shouldnt be. It abarely looks like a restaurant from the street so its easy to miss. This little gem of a place had excellent service, drinks, and entrees. We got two Toasted Pumpkin Mallow Lattes, theJamaican Jerk sandwich w/ peach chutney, pineapple and red onions and the Steak and cheese sandwich. They were both sooooo good. We both finished all of our fries for the first time...EVER. All of the sides and sauces were om nom nom. Shout out to our server DJ! And a huge shout out to the owner Megan! You have a beautiful place with delectable dishes.
I come every Sunday. Iβve been around the country and this is truly the best place out there. The menu is creative, every time. The drinks are the same, and the service is always outstanding. The only complaint I have is that the menu is always so amazing that itβs hard to decide. I love the atmosphere and the patio will be so incredible in the summer. Going here is the only thing I look forward to anymore lmao
Delicious and creative food, amazing beer and cocktail service. I have to admit that when I pulled up to the front i thought this was another hole in the wall, but it has gorgeous views and is spacious. I definitely recommend taking lunch here or maybe date night if in the area!
First time eating there before we went to a play. They have an interesting menu. I got their special which was delicious, although could have been a little warmer when it came out. Cant wait to come back when I have a little more time and try something new and one of their cocktails that sound absolutely amazing.
Its a small nice Place, its a fast food place, its clean, the prices are normal, the food tastes good, you can drink πΊwhile enjoying your meal πbut please wait before you will drive, dont ever drive while you still feel drunk π±you are safe to use the one-hour per drink rule. So, if you have two glasses of wine, you should wait two hours before driving. When you do an hour per drink, your body has time to overcome the other factors listed above, and hopefully, you have a safe enough BAC to drive ππ
So lucky to have this basically in our backyard. This is a gem for Owego. Wonderful owners & management, cocktails are really well balanced, service is always fast, efficient, and friendly - even when theyre totally packed. This has been such a great addition to Owego, NY! Worth every penny. Looking forward to this summer on the deck, too. :)
The atmosphere is cozy and features one of a kind decor. The outdoor eating area features a deck with a covered plexiglas porch with a nice view of the susquehanna river. The food is fresh and tasty, but their service was best of all. We had a reservation to dine outdoors but the weather turned cold and windy. We laughed about it, and the staff arranged and lit the outdoor heaters for us which helped a bit, but even after that their staff went out of their way to get us inside. I am thankful for their service so we could enjoy our meal indoors.
Really love the easygoing beachy vibes here. We had a great experience from great service to wonderful food to gorgeous views of the river. This is a great place to go for date night. Fresh attractive food. Vegan and gluten free choices. Even the bathrooms were clean convenient and well thought out. Whats not to like. Well try a cocktail next time.
Interesting take on burgers and fries. Its like regular food that went to Harvard. I ordered firecracker fries and street chicken tacos. The tortilla was clearly made from scratch. The chicken and feta cheese practically melted in your mouth. Everything was fresh. The reason they are not getting 5 stars from me today is bcuz the garage door facing the water was open and I was freezing!Otherwise the staff was nice and respectful.
Super cute little restaurant we found while passing through late at night! We are glad we stopped just for the Firecracker Fries alone! So good! Grilled veggies are also amazing. The building and vibe are just adorable! They are all decked out for fall and have a real fire when you walk in. The cutest!
Great tucked away spot with stellar food. If you get any type of food that might be good to dip in a sauce, ask for the cajun sauce in addition to whatever normally comes with it. That stuff is delicious. I didnt even get a chance to use the sauce that came with my fries.
We were in town for a wedding and decided to have dinner here! It doesnβt look like much from the outside but the inside is so nice! Itβs such a relaxed and quaint place! We ate outside and the view was perfect. They have a lot of different food options. Theyβre unique too! The meals are not something youβd find at a typical restaurant and were DELICIOUS. The drinks were tasty too!
Traveled back from wineglass half marathon in Corning and was looking for decent restaurant and came across this βgemβ of a restaurant! So deceiving looking from outside so cute and cozy outside dining by river the food was absolutely outstanding! Creative drinks excellent service. Definitely recommend!!
Absolutely dynamite. Devin at the bar was fabulous, food should cost double what it does, bathrooms were what you would expect at a Michelin star restaurant. We had a party of four, it was the first time here for each of us. It might be the best experience to price ratio Ive ever experienced for a restaurant.
Very nice place with a great atmosphere. Smallish so make a reservation. If the deck is open it overlooks the river and is very relaxing.Everyone was very attentive to our needs and the food was great. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I thought it a little pricey. I still highly recommend it.
A beautiful location, cute tiki decore, love the vibrant shirts, and right on the river. I hope it is on the Owego Best list. Shannon, our server was the best! She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was really good for the most part. I had the jerk, hubby had the cuban, both were delicious. Father in laws flip flop burger was a little over cooked more of a flop..π The tacos sounded great! The service was spot on. We will be back
We chose MJβs for a post wedding rehearsal celebration in August 2021. Covid provided some unique challenges, but MJβs did a spectacular job in spite of that. First, MJβs is an attractively decorated and comfortable bar and restaurant. It borders the rice and has a beautiful deck. For our event we had more guests join us than ariginally planned, and MJβs graciously accommodated all. The food was creative, interesting, diverse and accommodated different appetites and preferences, with special attention to taste and presentation. It was all served quickly and each guestβs individual order was somehow kept straight and delivered correctly. The kitchen did an exemplary job! We enjoyed craft beers, and some unique specialty beverages served by a creative and jovial bar staff. There were lots of oooβs and ahhβs when served, and everyone came away with nothing but positive compliments . Many thanks to the MJβs staff for making the rehearsal evening a huge success. I strongly recommend checking out MJβs when you visit Owego, and will definitely visit whenever I am in the area. LTW
My fiance and I order MJs curbside quite often. The food is always amazing, the staff is always pleasant and thats what keeps us coming back. Chicken street tacos, MJs fries and their cheese steak are to die for! Keep up the good work, you have two lifetime supporters in our house. Do whatever it takes to keep your cook as well. Just amazing!!
It seems like the menu here is trying too hard. The menu options are all over the place, without a unified theme of any kind. Each item is quite complicated, all with an eclectic list of ingredients... so it took forever just to read it all and take it in, let alone make a decision. The first time I went there, I ordered the house specialty, filet mignon...I ordered it medium, and was served a RAW piece of meat. The jasmine rice was tasteless. And the edamame beans were too spicy and too much work to enjoy. For the first time in my life I sent the entire plate back and ordered something else. I got the cajun shrimp, thinking it might arrive quickly bc shrimp cook fast. It took 20 minutes to arrive, and i got a bowl with 4 pieces of sliced white bread balanced atop the bowl, completely covering the rest of the food...underneath, I got a whole bunch if creamy cajun sauce that was pretty good, but the shrimp were the little frozen salad shrimp, which was really disappointing! In my opinion, anything other than prawns is unacceptable for an appetizer or entree. The firecracker fries I got for appetizer were decent, but the focal ingredients were buried u der the fries amd cheese so you couldnt see what you were getting till you started digging...and they were not user-friendly as far as trying not to make a mess of myself and the table while trying to eat them. So two thumbs down on presentation!!The second time I went there, I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries, which I got by ordering the burger on the menu and specifying to the server to take a few I gredients off the burger and adding the bacon. I ordered it medium, and it was cooked just right...so my 2nd visit here was much more satisfying than the 1st time, which was a disaster. In conclusion, Id say its a roll of the dice when going here.
The place is lovely, great atmosphere.I had a brisket sandwich months ago. The meat was very tough. I mentioned it to the waiter and they didnβt seem to care about it. The burgers are great. Some of the other dishes are very pricey for the small amount of food, not referring to the βsmaller mealsβ. I had a mojito drink( barely any alcohol), it was fine until I went to the Boatyard restaurant and the same drink was far superior, same price.
Delicious cocktails, brunch, and lunch/dinner. Im pleasantly surprised each time we go there. The breakfast Monte Cristo is to die for! Also we love the MJs fries! Easy curbside pickup and dine in. Reservations are definitely recommended as this place gets quite busy.
It was totally worth of 1 hour drive. We did not know much about this place. We were looking for nice outside dining to celebrate the anniversary. This place came up on the Google search with high review and great pics of Riverside terrace. Oh, boy. We are happy we decided to go. Awesome food. Great service. Thank you.
We were treated very poorly. Took ten minutes for someone to take our drink order. Wasnt very busy inside. Our food came out one meal at a time, several minutes apart. Food was delivered to tables who arrived and ordered well after we did.Server slammed my nephews meal in front of him. When confronted about the service, the server gave some BS excuse and turned away.Theres a lot less diversity in the current staff at MJs so maybe its because were black. The food is alright but, not as good as it was a couple years ago. There used to be 3 tacos, now its 2.What happened to the old MJs?
The menu is well balanced, and includes small plates to full entrees, with a nice selection of sandwiches and salads in between. Prices are reasonable, staying right around market average.Food was prepared quickly and nicely presented. Four of us dined, each ordering something different, and across the board, everything seemed fresh and tasty. The restaurant can be quite busy most evenings, and its easy to see why. Staff was friendly, atmosphere cozy, and the food was good. I look forward to trying more selections from the menu soon.
Recently visited this restaurant as we were staying in historic owego for a few nights. The food was amazing! The menu was very well thought out. I loved the atmosphere, the whole tiki set up. I had the Flip flop burger, it was delicious. It was juicy and the spices were great. Very flavorful. My husband had the tip steak sandwich, he said it was very good. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. The views of the river are very nice. Well be back when we visit again! Delicious meal!
MJs is the best! Their food is excellent, staff is friendly, and ambience is great. The food is always fresh and delicious, and I have tried almost every item. Coffee is good and the brunch menu is great. The only downside is the parking lot. Getting a spot is difficult and the restaurant fills up quickly. Would love to see the whole place expand!
Very nice place, I would of given it five stars, but I was so cold even with a jacket on. Anyway, the important thing is the food, and it was yummy!! I had the Cuban, which is pulled pork on a panini, comes with fries that has a delicious dipping sauce. I also had the hummus with jalapeno, and it was delicious, tried to get recipe for that, but was told they do not give out there recipes. They need a different sign because the one they have is small and you drive right past the place if youre not paying attention. Waitress was very nice, and service was great. I will go here again.
One of the nice places on the Susquehanna to eat! I love their food and service here is excellent. Their bartender was amazing! I have never seen someone so busy yet so calm! It tends to get very loud because there is nothing to absorb the noise, so you tend to talk louder to be heard. They are usually quite busy, but worth the wait!
Great place! Very well thought out menu and loved the atmosphere. Nice views of the Susquehanna River. Dont be fooled if you pull up and see what looks like a small house. Its small, but spacious because of its great floorplan. Loved the service and the price was just right. You cant go wrong here. Just go early for dinner as parking was tight, but well worth the wait!
Oh my, what a great bar!I am very much into how a bar feelsFrom the second you walk in their doors, the place has a great vibe. I dont mean its loud, but there is just a buzz about the place. The staff are wonderful... very friendly, and it genuinely feels as tho they enjoy their job.The food?Excellent.Over the last month or so, between us, my wife and I have eaten the following.... their firecracker fries (topped with bacon, cheese and kimchee) - magnificent, street tacos - great, sopes - very good, grilled chicken salad - good and jerk chicken sandwich - wonderful. To make the food taste even better, diners can sit on their small deck, overlooking the river. All in all, you must check MJs out.... you will not be disappointed.
This place is totally out of the way but fantastic. I had the cheesesteak which was excellent. The fries are amazing, they come with what looks like Bleu cheese but tastes milder, and a great dipping sauce. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Definitely give this place a shot.
The place is beautiful and the wood work there that was done is amazing. Especially since the owners did the all the work themselves. The food was great. I got the brisket sandwich. I tend to be picky for sauce but the sauce they give you for the fries were great. Definitely dont need ketchup. And the brisket was perfect. Definitely a must to visit. Especially the views that you see.
This place was by far one of our new Favorite places to go!!! Service , food , drinks atmosphere OH did I say Food and Drinks?!!! Food first off is top notch yumyum!!! Drinks :Some pretty amazing Holiday drinks ...Cranberry mojito is to die for to a Fireside hot cocoa with vodka totally capped off the day!!!I truly cant find one bad thing about this place so I will just brag on !!!I so appreciated the wheelchair access being so convenient and accessible. We are young but my husband is in a wheelchair and we truly appreciated the easy access!! We will be back for sure!! Cudos to the owners and Staff !!!!
Great food, great decor, friendly staff. Its one of the hidden gems of Owego. The outside appearance might make you quiz the place but once you step inside, its a completely different atmosphere. We ordered a few small plates and they all tasted great. You can also find local brewery beers on tap as well.
Might try again since the restaurant is so popular but in the two times I went the food was awful! The appetizer we had with some sort of baked cheese was way expensive for how much you get. The salad dressing was so vinegary me and my friends could not eat it, and my burger was a solid block of charcoal. Since I only ate a bite out of my burger they did comp my meal, but waitstaff was very rude about it. This was a few months ago and google reminded me to do a review. I will say they have some cool drinks though. I would like to try again and update my review. The parking lot is always full when I drive by.
What a beautiful place. Design details of everything from the floor to the ceiling to the bathrooms will blow you away. A hidden gem to say the least. The patio in the back is right on the Susquehanna river. Now not only was all of this stuff amazing, their menu was also put together with fine detail. Sandwiches, salads, small plates...lots of favorites you probably forgot about if youve moved from a larger city to the southern tier. I was happy to see the Vietnamese sandwich or even the Cuban. Gosh I havent had either once since living in downtown Philadelphia. Im not sure how long this place has been in Owego, but Im thankful someone told me about it. You should check it out for sure. Also, if youre going there alone, no worries. They have a beautiful bar you can sit at and meet new people. Lastly, the staff is amazing. I was there during lunch hour with 4 other friends, one waitress and she was on fire. Took care of everyone in a timely manner and didnt skip a beat. I wish I remembered her name, she deserves to be recognized. You can tell she enjoys her job, and the atmosphere as much as you will enjoy it on your visit. Cheers!
Brunch is outstanding, havent been disappointed by anything Ive ordered off that menu so far. The Micheladas are awesome! Dinner is good too, and its great to sit out by the river when the weathers nice. Could use some more draft beer options, but I dont think thats their vibe so I wont hold it against them.
Amazing food. Great service. We stayed in Owego for two days and for two days we ate there. The place itself looks beautiful and has a great vibe. On the second day we came there with our dog and we were allowed to get a table outside. We tried many different dishes and they were all unbelievable! I wish to have a place like this close to my house! I donβt think I will be eating anywhere else when I get back to Owego! Whoever works in the kitchen...wow! Thank you for your hospitality!
Very nice place! Love the decor, especially the fireplace. Very friendly and helpful staff. One of the best clam chowder soup bread bowls Ive ever had (they actually remove most of the bread so you get a lot of soup). I had their cheese steak sandwich with the specialty fries yummmm. Cant wait to go back and try more stuff. Also! They have many gluten free items!
Food was excellent. Had the cheese steak and my wife had the Mexican torta. Not very Mexican if you will, but the pork was great nonetheless. Great prices for food. Service is really slow, but the food was hot when we finally got it. Drinks were good, but a bit pricey. Will definitely go back for dinner and want to try the brunch.
What a pleasant surprise at my latest visit to MJs.I know the food is always very good but what stood out on this visit was the bartender.I notice a lot of small details where ever I go, most places you can expect good service and thats it, living in this are its what you get.last night I was extremely impressed with I believe her name is Megan?she did her job in a way that is very rare to see today.nothing crazy or over the top but just spot on, service.very professional, polite and she seamed to do it with ease, she didnt have to try to impress anyone it just seamed natural to her.As I said MJs food is away consistently above average and the service I received from Megan was even better. The beer seamed colder and the MJs burger tasted just a little bit better. If you have never been to MJs please put it on your list.I hope you get to meet Megan but Im sure all the other employees with do a fine job.Hats off to management for hiring her and I hope they take good care of her so she doesnt leave anytime soon.Shes a stand out for your business and she will only make your establishment better.I will definitely be going back soon even just to see it my experience can be matched.Well done Megan, you are a Rockstar in your field, dont change a thing.
Seriously the best breakfast Ive ever had. Bacon was 1/4 thick, french toast had an amazing homemade dark berry jelly. Little twists on the standards. Strawberry memossa was so good with bits of berries. Had a Mexican hot chocolate on the way out that was a perfect end. The interior is beautiful. Such attention to detail really makes it a pleasure to be there. Great view of the river too if you sit in that section.
I had the cheese steak after hearing a customer and the bar tender rave about it. It was tasty but pretty small. It comes on a baguette. Some people may like that I did not. I believe that a cheese steak should be soft and chewy not hard and crunchy. Appetizer was very good.
My favorite place to eat in Owego. A warm, rustic atmosphere sets the stage for a delicious meal, and it will be; I havent had a dish there yet that wasnt great. Be sure to ask about daily specials, which never fail to impress. If I ever have family visit, I make a point to bring them here; a great restaurant all around.
I love the atmosphere here. Its beautiful with decor that looks like its reclaimed wood. Very open and airy. I cant wait for the weather to warm up so my friends and I can have a drink on the deck in the evening and look over the river. Ive only had an appetizer and one item from the brunch menu, but Im very excited to try the rest of the offerings, which all look so interesting. Great beer selection including local breweries, delicious bloody Mary with spice level to order (and the mimosas looked good, too), and a wine list with finger lakes wines. Very friendly bar tender/manager who appreciates the staff and friendly wait staff as well. Im looking forward to visiting many more times!
Dont drive by without stopping in and checking out this restaurant, it would be easy to do, not much of a sign outside. I have tried most of the menu and there has been nothing that disappointed, as a matter of fact with the specials and the seasonal menu changes there is always something new to try and most are phenomenal. All of the wait staff that has served me is very attentive and the bar tenders are excellent, just realize that there are a lot of specialty drinks and they do take quite a while to prepare but they are well worth the wait. The atmosphere is warm and inviting once inside, with a tiki bar theme and the deck overlooking the Susquehanna river providing a great view on warm summer afternoons and nights, usually with a very nice breeze. My only suggestion is the same one I have with most of the places that have limited draft beer selections, they have been almost completely taken over with the latest fad, IPAs and micro brews, which is fine for the young crowd who enjoys fruit flavored beer or fruit in their beer, having a few more domestic and regular choices and more reasonably priced drafts would serve them better for more distinguished tastes. Besides that, this restaurant is absolutely what many other people have said, a hidden gem!
Very disappointed. Use to be One of my favorite places to go. Looked on website to make sure didnβt need a reservation because we live 45 minutes away. Didnβt say you needed one. Drove all the way there and told us we needed a reservation. I was beyond angry. Might not go back. Update your website MJs
One of the best hidden gems around here. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the constantly changing drink and food menus give you a new tastes to experience. They are usually busy but they amazingly keep wait times to a minimum. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Cool atmosphere and solid cocktail menu. Pleasure to have a prime bar in town that doesnt involve rain or corn... Plates, from our trials, seemed a bit meek. However, portion control shouldnt harm anyone.Update: Just updated my rating to 5 star. Have been there several times since my post, and havent been let down by drink or fare. Our favorite place to go out in town.
Had the Pho something sandwich and tri tips. Both were excellent. Deviled egg appetizer was really good too. Service was good. Nice craft been selection. Good atmosphere and you may be able to sit on the deck by the river. Only negative is they could use a little more parking.
I definitely recommend this restaurant for your next dinner out. The food is high quality, and the cuisine creativity is of a much higher caliber than most places in the area. I felt like I was dining in a high class restaurant in an urban area, rather than sitting by the river in the country.I came here by myself while passing through the area on Monday afternoon around 3 pm, expecting the place to be completely empty. Yet there were still families eating, and people relaxing at the bar. The staff made me feel welcome, and were very knowledgeable about the menu. They were very understanding about food allergies, and very accommodating. The restaurant appears to be a local favorite, as the waitresses appeared to know most of the patrons.I ordered the firecracker fries and authentic mexican sopes. The fries were fantastic and a definite must try dish! They are fresh cut and crispy and served in a very generous portion on a sizzling cast iron skillet. The pork on top is moist and beautifully flavored with a savory salty and sweet marinade. The kimchi adds a great level of spiciness to the dish. The sour cream and special sauce didnt contribute much to rhe dish but did help with fun appearance. While tasty, the sopes werent as authentic as the menu would have you believe. The tortilla is fluffy and crisp, but lacks the zing of lime in a traditional sope. The thinness of the tortilla also prevents the eater from picking it up. The refried beans and steak were well seasoned and piled on generously for a small plate dish. The choice to use goat cheese in the dish is a strange one, as cojita/queso fresco would have been more consistent with the authentic sope. The sopes are served with a fantastic pico de gallo. The tomatoes are fresh and the cilantro is plentiful. I only wish the dish would have come with more pico, as it really helped balance out the dish. The accompanying hot sauce was too spicy for my taste, but has flavor that is sure to excite hot-sauce-enthusiasts.All in all, the food is delicious, the prices reasonable, and the staff very friendly. I will definitely return.
This is the best food I have ever had. Thats a big claim, I know, but the mix of foods and flavors and variety is beyond explanation. The melted cheese with ouzo is so delicious people just ooh and ahh then shut up. Just go. Oh, and to top it off its beyond reasonably priced.
Ordered a meal and a drink at the bar and seemed like an inconvenience to the bartender. The place wasnt busy at all and it took 10 mins for me to get a drink sitting right next to the draft spouts. I received awful attitude from a heavier set middle aged woman for asking for a single beer. If youre looking to have a nice time dont think MJs is a quick and friendly stop. Better off going somewhere else and saving money instead of overpaying for small proportions and being treated like youre wasting their time.
This restaurant is located on the edge of the Susquehanna River. It has an outside dining experience where you can watch the muddy waters flow by. They have a delicious menu which is mostly beef but they also offer delicious salads and a flaming cheese entree. The table tops inside are beautifully made each one unique and individual and the whole Ambiance is very warm and friendly.
Food great tasting but Small portions. Slow initial service with small crowd. Left $40 for a $30.65 bill and was asked if I needed change. Said yes and when she came back only $9 was brought back. It was only $.35 cents but I did not know we rounded off bills. Rude. Even know I would have left it, it should be my option.
Love the atmosphere and decor of this cozy gastropub. Sangria and beer selection were both great. Appetizers (Mexican sopes and stuffed Portobello) were both extremely flavorful. And main dishes were varried and tasty at good value. My groups orders ranged from a fancy version of Philly cheese steaks to healthy steak and veggie sautee and we enjoyed every dish. Cant wait to come back on a sunny day and sit on the deck overlooking the river!
Yesterday evening 11/23/19, My husband and I decided to try MJβs for the first time. We arrived around 4PM and they were not busy. After being seated it too at least 10 minutes for our server Briann L to approach our table. By that point we were ready to order, so we placed our drink order and food at the same time. I specifically told her I needed my meal GLUTEN FREE. My husband and I both ordered the Cheesesteak, his regular, mine GLUTEN FREE. After another 10 minutes, she returned with our water and no Beer/Cider. After placing our waters on the table, we watched her go over to the bar and put in our beverage order. Not five minutes after our beverages arrived, our food was delivered by a runner. It was Delicious! We were very happy with our meals and talked about returning another time to try something else. We paid our bill at 4:52 and drove back to Binghamton. By 6:30 PM I was doubled over in HORRIBLE PAIN! My body was drenched in sweat and I felt like I had ingested RAZOR BLADES. Since I generally do not have a Cross Contamination issue, I am convinced my GLUTEN FREE needs were not relayed to the Kitchen. Something obviously contained GLUTEN. Something in the flavoring of the Cheesesteak ( Soy or Worcestershire Sauce ) or perhaps the Cheese Sauce on the Cheesesteak. Maybe it was the Dipping Sauce that came with the Fries. Iβm not sure, but I never have a reaction this bad unless I have ingested GLUTEN. MJβs came highly recommended to us by a friend that works at The Lost Dog Cafe. We were told the owners of MJβs worked there previously. After hearing that, I trusted I would be able to eat at MJβs without issue. Apparently, that is not the case. Now I will be in gastric distress along with headaches and joint pain for the next two weeks, as that is how long it takes my body to rid itself of the contamination. Thanks.. Happy Thanksgiving..
Great setting, good food. The kimchi fries, wow! Some items are on the bland side but I have to think thatβs the areas tease. All and All I would have gone 4 stars but they put everything in there and I can tell they are purposefully holding hold back on the spice for the blander folks of greater bing.
By far one of the worst meals Ive ever had. the portions were embarrassingly small. the hashbrown casserole was raw and tasted like cheese whiz. the omlette I got looked like a 1 egg omlette, instead of the typical 3 egg omlette. it was completely saturated with grease. the omlette looked like it was literally floating in a pool of orange grease, which I mistook for hot sauce at first. despite the amount if grease the rest of the omlette was bland and tasted like it wasnt seasoned at all. as a career chef, I will say, this place needs a kitchen overhaul in talent. I took 3 bites and was so grossed out i couldnt even take another bite. absolutely disgusting. I will not be returning and will certainly let people know to avoid this place. a complete and total ripoff.
Wow! We were amazed by interior--wood if all shades beautifully Incorporated with industrial, plus door and logo reminiscent of knights of old. The gas fired hearth was welcoming. The Xmas drinks inspired and the food.... Do not miss MJs fries! I usually avoid fries, not these!!!!!
The staff was very friendly and quick made sure we had what we needed but the food wasnt all there. My boyfriend and I had the tri tip sandwich and it was all bread there was hardly any meat. We were very shocked at the portions of meat for the price we paid secondly the bread was hard and dry and overly toasted and the meat was very chewy. We saw what others were ordering around us and were very shocked at how much they were paying for such small amounts. The fact its definatly not an atmosphere I would goto again and have music videos of women shaking their asses on tv while trying to enjoy my food. On the other hand they had some banging mustard sauce for the fries. I myself dislike mustard but the sauce was delicious.

2022-01-24Cute gem π of a restaurant tucked into Owego. Brunch menu and regular menu are fabulous. There are a lot of options for both, and the options are unique. My friends and I ordered ALOT of food and everything that came out was too notch, even the drinks. Devin was such a good waiter too! I would definitely call ahead for a reservation if you can as it gets very busy and there isnβt a lot of seating.

2021-12-27From the moment we entered to the moment of leaving we were given the best experience. I started for with the holiday special drink sugar cookie and that was Absolutely delicious. Sweetness to perfection. Than we got an order of the kimchi fries. Out of this world! That is a must have!! My burger was flip flop and it has pesto on one side and BBQ with bacon. Just absolutely yummy! My boyfriend had the gyro and he said he really enjoy that. The only this we didnt care for was the guacamole. It was missing some flavour and tomatoes. I cant wait to come back and bring my family. Oh also out water was being filled the moment it was empty, and it was a busy evening. I would recommend if youre more than 3 people make a RSVP.

2021-08-15I had never been to MJs bar and restaurant before this visit but it did not disappoint! We arrived Sunday at 1pm to a very busy restaurant. We were expecting a lunch menu only to find out that lunch does not start until 2:30 and they were currently serving brunch. We were a little disappointed, but ordered a couple brunch burgers and cocktails anyway. Our disappointment abruptly ended there. This restaurant has a really nice, almost tropical feel to it. A decent sized and well decorated building with an option to sit out on the deck overlooking the river. While I cannot speak for the lunch/dinner menus, the brunch menu was very adequately priced with most of the menu items being in the high single digits or very low double digits. Our wait from the time we ordered until the time we got our food, in a very busy restaurant, was approximately 10 minutes. The brunch burgers were, in a word, faultless. A burger meant to be eaten with a knife and fork with a perfect mix of toasted bread, runny egg, hamburger, sausage gravy. The absolute quintessential brunch dish and hands down the best brunch I have ever had. Seriously cannot say enough good about the brunch burger. If youve been here and never had it, get it.This single dish alone is enough to convince me to visit MJs again, soon. At the time of this review MJs was rated 4.7 stars and if their entire menu is as great as our brunch was, its easy to see why.

2021-09-13Loved it! The signature cocktails are super cute! Ordered two small places and two big plates. The small plates were the stuffed spicy mushroom, and Authentic Mexican Sopes. Both tasted great. The Sopes were not spicy but they were really good ordered it with steak as the meat. For the big plates we ordered the the flip flop burger and the MJs burger. Both were amazing and the MJ fries with the sauce were also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. But Id also suggest making a reservation if you plan on sitting at a table and not taking your chances at the bar. You also have to call for reservations.

2022-06-08All the other reviews times 10β¦lol. Great atmosphere, great food, great staff. The menu is in a class of its own and you wonβt be disappointed. On the river so the views are awesome. And the best thing for me is the decor. A sawyer and crafter myself (Norwood HD36v2), this is a place for me. Too bad itβs 4 hours away from home. Will be back in town for business and will make MJβs a place to sit and wind down.

2022-04-14Went here for date night with my boyfriend, and I was astounded. Ive heard about this place from friends, and it definitely exceeds expectations! The cocktails are amazing. The food was delicious. Im a huge fan of seasonal menus that make you want to try all of the options! The interior design is pretty and cozy. I love the view of the river. My only complaint is that I passed it because the sign isnt super obvious (it has a crest and was hard to see what it said from the road). Otherwise, now that I know where it is π , I will be coming back again and again.

2022-02-19Super staff friendly, great food, and beautiful space. My good friend had a birthday lunch here with us plus his family and it was great! Our server was very attentive and patient, got our food out quickly despite how long it took us to order, and navigated around the noisy kids very well. The food was delicious and plentiful (we definitely didnt need 2 appetizers AND 2 full meals for two people π ). I had a tasty dry RosΓ¨ and my friend said the other specialty drinks were good, too. The kids were a bit pickier and didnt like their chicken, but Im sure its hit or miss with kids.Overall, a really nice experience. Well definitely be back!
