I would highly recommend going somewhere else, even Ikea. The quality of their furniture is overrated for their prices, and in some cases I discovered the exact same pieces available elsewhere online for cheaper (Liam Gray bed for example).Most importantly their warranty is the most restrictive I have ever seen. The bed I bought broke apart after 3 weeks, but they made no effort to seek a solution in fixing/replacing it as their policy states that you only have 3 days after delivery to notify them of a defect. This is highly impractical for obvious reasons and not what one would expect from a supposedly high end furniture store.Lastly, their staff is poorly trained. I had to talk with 4 different employees and call customer service simply to schedule a delivery of my furniture as they didnt process it in the system properly. This was on top of the furniture being delayed multiple times.Even though I like the style of their furniture its not worth the headache. Ill never shop there again and anybody out there should think twice.
Modani midtown has the best furniture!We furnished my daughter’s whole apartment from there and it looks fabulous , great style and great quality! A big thanks to Kamil Ana and Albert who went above and beyond in their helpfulness and great customer service ! They are the best and we really appreciated all their help! We will definitely be shopping with them in the future for all of our furniture!
Kamil was an absolute pleasure to work with! My phone call with him was extremely positive, as he is welcoming and knows his products. My purchase was quick and efficient and he scheduled my delivery for just a few days later. I can’t explain what I liked the most in this store: the furniture or the service. We saw lots of furniture stores, but this one stole our hart. The quality, the material, stile, details - all above and beyond. The manager of the store and all the team was amazing: super professional, fast, respectful and knowledgeable. We literally furnished our entire apartment from Modani (Living room, bedroom, dining room) and could not be more satisfied with the results. Staff is extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with, deliveries are punctual and fast, and furniture is very high quality. Would definitely recommend.
Modani is a wonderful furniture store. I am so glad that I found them. Their prices are extremely reasonable and their furniture looks way more expensive than it is. Very modern!!!We love our sofa and everything else we bought from Modani. It looks gorgeous. The service is incredible. I loved working with Angela (the store manager at NYC location), she is very knowledgeable. She gave us very useful suggestions, answered my tons of questions and helped us complete our dream interior. Angela helped us choose the right furniture.I will definitely be purchasing from Modani again.
The jury is still out on when we will be buying our new sofa, but no matter what our experience at this store exceeded our expectations and was exceptional. The showroom is beautiful and easy to navigate. Prices are beyond reasonable and designs are contemporary, without being overtly modern. Noela helped us immediately and is an asset to the company, and if we end up purchasing from Modani it will be because of her.
Furniture is fine. Store location was good for my needs. Staff was reasonably helpful. Unfortunately, a price mis-mark credit that I was promised never materialized. This was after 3 store visits & two follow-up emails from me. Was repeatedly told by sales person that management had to process the refund. Sales person, herself, could not. Also told repeatedly that I would receive email & notification of refund. Never happened.
What a horrible experience. I ordered the Casa Storage Bed and it doesnt come with the storage on the bottom. They expect you to put your stuff on the floor. The bed doesnt come with instruction or manual how to install the bed after waiting for a month and half to get it delivered. When I ordered it online, the website said it available in stock and ready to ship. After I placed the order, it said due to high demand, it wont be available until a month after. Good luck with trying to contact customer service. The Sale line department line is more responsive because they want you to buy but good luck trying to reach after purchase department, you will be put in hold and waiting and keep pressing # to hold for the next available representative. After a while you will hang up or they will hang it up for you. I am trying to put the negative review on their website but I couldnt. They only put their own 5 star reviews on their website so everything looks so nice with positive reviews. Good luck with your purchase and this is my last. Horrible company to buy stuffs from.
I would first and foremost like to say that Modani is a fantastic company. Their prices can be matched by no one and their furniture looks far more expensive than it is.I bought the Nelson sofa and one of the arms looked like it was a little lopsided so I called the store within the 5 day allotted time frame and they had someone come within the week to fix the issue. My sofa looks gorgeous. Anyone that comes to my apartment thinks I spent thousands of dollars on the sofa.Angela, the manager at the NYC location is truly a gem. What an asset she is to Modani.I have read negative reviews, and let me just say that most companies will not take back furniture, especially after an extended period of time. And special orders, forget it. I dont care what company you purchased from, if its a special order, theyre not taking it back. Considering Modanis furniture is a fraction of the price of most furniture stores and they have a beautiful pieces, I will definitely be purchasing from them again.
I bought a bed, a couch and a lounge chair last year. They did not deliver the chair. Their delivery guys brought all these huge boxes in my apartment and required me to sign. I had no chance to check if everything was there. I signed and they took off as quickly as possible. I later saw the $600 lounge chair was missing and contacted my salesman Christopher about when the missing chair will be delivered. I thought it will come in a second delivery. Christopher told me I confirmed with my signature that I have received the chair. I told him that my signature I made on the delivery guys smartphone was copied behind each item. Christopher then forwarded me to customer service and to the delivery team to investigate myself!My requests led nowhere. They assumed I was lying. I bought furniture for more than $3000 and they assumed I was lying!!! They did not even try to make up for it by offering me a discount on future purchases.The couch was delivered without a manual. Luckily, I was able to figure out how to assemble it by myself.The quality of the furniture is very poor for that price. It is below IKEA’s quality and double the price.I do not recommend this rip-off of a company at all. Stay away.
I had previously ordered some furniture items from the New York location and had a wonderful experience. When it came time to buy some new pieces, I reached out to the salesman (Jaime) asking his advice about what would go best with my new space. Jaime was extremely helpful and gave some suggestions. Modani was having a sale that ended at midnight that day, and since the New York location had closed by the time I was off work and ready to order, I placed an order online. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!! When I placed my order I was immediately charged in full for the items. The online team confirmed my delivery date for the following week and said they would follow up with a delivery time window. I took off work (since they only deliver on weekdays) and prepared for my delivery. I never heard about a delivery time window, and when I reached out to the company on the day of delivery they never responded. I e-mailed them multiple times over many hours, and tried calling numerous times with no answer. I finally got ahold of someone, and they said they would not be able to deliver the items until the following Monday. I said this did not work for me. They said that I could reschedule when the delivery person contacted me to confirm. When they called, I said that time did not work, and asked to reschedule. I once again was not able to speak with a person, but left a voicemail saying the delivery time did not work and to please contact me. I never confirmed delivery. I once again never heard back. Low and behold, on Monday I got a text that my items were being delivered in 15 minutes. DESPITE NEVER HAVING CONFIRMED AND DEFINITIVELY SAYING THAT DELIVERY DATE AND TIME DID NOT WORK. I called the company and once again no one answered. I rushed home from work and waited for 30 minutes until the delivery guys finally arrived. No one from the company ever contacted me. Although I was ultimately satisfied with my items, the delivery process was such a nightmare and the customer service was so incredibly horrible that I will never be placing an online order again.
Poor quality furniture and poor quality customer service. Bought an L-shaped sectional black sofa that has come apart in every way imaginable. The couch is poorly made and stays in good shape for a couple of years max. Then the stitching starts to come undone. The pillows sag. The faux leather tears almost everywhere. Contacted the company and they were no help/did not care at all.Would never buy from this company again. They do not back their items. Be careful.
Shopping at Modani for our new apartment in Brooklyn was an outstanding experience. By the first contact with Gilbert until the manager it was an overall 10 plus treatment. The delivery team also. We needed to swap a couch because didnt fit out living room layout and it was done the next day. Definitely shopping there again. Five starts staff.
Stay away! I should’ve went to RAYMOUR or pottery barn. Even Jennifer furniture is better than their poor quality material on any upholstered product they have. They will offer you a discount for any poor quality product but will give you the run around until the “30 day” policy expires. They never replaced my damaged white verrier chairs. Every item delivered to me was flawed. The floor samples look better. Thieves.
It was unfortunate that a couple of the items advertised on their site was not available, but the items I did order showed up in perfect condition. The delivery staff were kind and in and out in 30 minutes. The salesperson at the store was funny and upfront about everything - including the price. Definitely recommend if youre a fan of modern furniture and ease of order and delivery.
Their products are defective!!! I bought the Palerma Dining table and took delivery about 13 weeks ago. The finish started showing white streaking right away. I looked the other way, unfortunately, but now bubbles are appearing. The customer service person would not entertain an exchange, a repair or a return. Instead we were offered a meager store credit that would barely cover the delivery fee. They should stand behind their products and not make people pay extra for protection. Buyer beware - they sell cheap quality for hi-end prices and DO NOT stand behind their furniture!! See the pictures for yourself.
This company is associated with the scam website called brevilleespressomachine.com. The website has the same address. The seller of website uses a bogus UPS tracking that said ‘delivered’ on date 2 weeks prior to order date. Upon emailing ‘seller’ a generic highlighted response of wait 24-48hrs and not to contact credit card company or take any action and then no response since and no other way to contact ‘seller’. Disputing the transaction with credit card company but its difficult with the fake tracking number showing delivered
I wish if there was less than one star option. The workers are very rude and disrespectful.... dont know the value of customer treatment. We walked around the show room and they didnt even bother to walk with us. Stuck to their chairs and their smart phones are a bunch of grownups in their look but teenagers in their attitudes!!We were told the delivery will take place in 3 weeks and now we entering the 5th week and the sofa is still not here. What is worse, is that they dont call you in advance to let you know about the delay so that you dont have to take the day off from work. And they even get agitated when you call them asking about the delivery.I wish if I can return everything now. Made a major mistake by choosing my furniture from Modani and hope people will find a better place to buy furniture.
My wife and I like Modani furniture and we really enjoy coming to the 19th street store however we have not always had the best sales rep experience but today was different. Vito, whom works at the store is an amazing sales rep. He was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. We’ve delt with other sales reps that were lackluster and you would think we were bothering them when we asked to be shown items. So, If you dig modern furniture, it’s a good spot. And Vito is a good guy who clearly enjoys what he does...major difference. Huge.
Other than the manager, the sales consultant who helped us throughout our $50,000 purchases was absolutely excellent. She showed skill and consistent insight into our needs and how we wanted our home/condo to look like. She was not in any way sales aggressive. Her demeanor was positive in scale to selecting, delivery, home placement and in exchanges. Yes she worked for her employer but in doing that she also worked for and with us. The store Mgr was arrogant, inflexible and distant in knowing the customer 101 guidelines of customer satisfaction and motivation for repeat business. We might as well had been just “snooping” to in turn buy of line from another vendor the way he spoke and treated us. Our sales executive was the reason we excluded all vendors and bought 100% of our furniture, accessories and art from her and from you. What you did not have to meet our needs (mattresses) she qualifiedly recommended another vendor close by. Bought couch, dinner table and chairs, accent mirror. The stuff looks good but all very poor quality. Within a week the buttons on the chairs fell off, the wood frame on the couch started to chip. Had to return the couch three times because the color was different between the different sections. Good prices, poor quality. Buyer beware.
Ive been searching for a particular headboard I saw in a movie for months with no success. I was contemplating getting it made, until I saw it on the Modani website. I went into the E 19th st location and was greeted promptly by Christopher. He was attentive, yet gave us space to explore. He was knowledgeable about every piece of furniture we were interested in and showed us some pieces we never knew we wanted until being introduced to them. I walked out with the bed of my dreams and will definitely return for some additions. Great experience.
Ordered a bedroom set / office furniture / dining table on March 31. Roxanne Leon the consultant in NYC called and told me delivery was set for April 5 from 12:30 to 4:30. Called them several time to remind them they had to arrived by 4pm since condo would not allow them in. She assured me that they would come on time. Even after 5pm nobody showed up or called for updates. I called over a dozen time by river left me on the line or hang up the phone very unprofessional team. I will never purchase another furniture fro this company. If I can give you a no star I would. If I was purchasing cheap furniture a I would understand but paid so much for their unprofessional and incompetent staff.
Ordered dining table and chairs, which the quality are just fine.But the 5k white sofa with extension is unacceptable. Make sure check everything in front of the delivery guys. Cause my sofa It came with a dime size loss at the side. We didnt check on the sets when it arrived, because this was the second time we order from them, the first time got no problem. We told the delivery guys not to remove the plastic warp because we wanted to move in to the house 2 weeks later after the furniture arrived, just prevent it from the dust and dirt. Then weeks later, we moved in, and i grab off the wrap of the sofa set by set, and then it was like , FUXK!! there is a loss at the side, and it looks like a hole. Also passed the return period.Then it went to my 1k bed frame. It is so unstable and noisy cause by the terrible assembly. They charged me couple hundreds for the assembly, which is i dont mind. But they are just so unprofessional.I spent more then 8 k here, but the quality and service should be @ 2 k max, wont go back again.CHECK EVERY ITEMS IN FRONT OF THE DELIVERY GUYS NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE, CHECK THE ASSEMBLY !!!
This place essentially robbed me of $423. In early September I came into the store and purchased a sculpture for $250, and upon placing the order, a young male sales associate brought me over a bill for $423 including a $100 shipping fee. I told him I don’t need it shipped as I live only a few blocks away. He said shipping charge is a must so I asked to cancel the order— he said he would refund the cost and that it would take several days. After a 2 weeks I called back and spoke to the salesman; he said the cancellation did not go through, he apologized and said he would do it right then and that it would take a couple more days to process. A month later it was still not taken care of and I tried calling again but no one had any idea what I was talking about because the order was never processed and the salesman was “out”. In the end, I had to call my bank and have them handle it through the fraud department. The customer service here is beyond terrible. STAY AWAY!
I went to look at the couch/sofa at New York location. The staff there were on phone or sitting in front of the PC as if they had no intentions of helping customers. After looking around when I asked for some question they hesitantly got up. The furniture looks nice but the staff is really rude and incompetent.I was told that I can get 99 home delivery if I order from store or on phone. When I called they were like this particular item is not available at store so we ll have to ship from Miami. So 99 will only cover warehouse to warehouse cost. I was like I am ready to wait for sometime if its cheaper shipping but they had no clue when they will have it in nyc location. This was after I called the third time.If they really have no interest of selling stuff to customer they can just say so and I will gladly go to another location.
The delivery people are really really terrible. The dont answer the phone, the never return your calls, and they dont give you the idea what time they will be delivering.They sent me an email with incorrect delivery, after which I immediately called and tried to fix the issue and they forgot to bring the item in their truck!Avoid this store.
Ordered set of dining chairs and a centerpiece for dining table. One of the chairs came damaged and nothing was done to replace it despite complaints. The centerpiece was never shipped and after much to and fro on the phone for over 3 months, staff agreed to transport it to the NJ warehouse from where i was to pick it up. But the staff kept forgotting to include it in the shipment meant for warehouse in NJ. Long story short, I had to chase the item as it was not delivered, drive all the way from my home in NJ to NYC to get the item. Most dishonest staff ever! They just lie to save face when on the phone till you eventually catch them out on their own lies. Worst store ever!

WHY WONT THIS COMPANY CALL ANYONE BACK OR RESPOND TO THEIR MAIL INQUIRIES?!?!? Ive tried to reach out to this company on 5 SEPERATE OCCASIONS via their online help on their website, called their contact number (during the posted business hours), written on their Facebook site, email, ..... AND NOTHING!!!! I just want some simple information on a product I want to buy. They must spend SO MUCH MONEY on marketing via Facebook, email, etc. only to PISS PEOPLE OFF! Not a fan of this company and I havent even had the opportunity to purchase from them. I should really interpret this as an omen and forget that I even like this item.
They’ll find a number of ways to con you. In my case, they were not careful about how the order was placed so I ended up with a couch that is essentially backwards.I pointed this out to my sales contact, who blamed me for the mistake.I then pointed this out to the delivery guys and they INSISTED that I keep the couch until they can reorder a new one. They wouldn’t take it back with them.When I called customer service, they continued to blame me. They also went on to inform me that because the couch was delivered (never mind that the delivery crew refused to take it back with them), it meant the couch was no longer “new.”So now I have to pay about $1,000 to get the correct couch because their clever delivery guys told me to keep it here until they could fix it.

2022-04-27Been driving all around town looking for furniture in stock. Yeah, I get that the pandemic has created this supply chain issue, and waiting is the norm. But I didnt have to wait. I got a super popular sectional delivered within 3 days. Will be coming back. As you know that icky feeling you get sometimes when shopping for things like cars because you get stuck with an overbearing salesperson?? Not here. They gave me plenty of space, were very patient, and made me feel welcomed. Thank you for the awesome service!!!

2021-07-30They have a huge 5 floor showroom that has more than what’s visible online. We bought a marble top dining table here that seats 6 people that wasn’t visible online at all. They give you the option to buy the floor model for any piece for 10% discount. Affordable with good sales (our table was $700). Easy to order and only about $100 for white glove delivery and installation. They can do a free certificate of insurance if your building requires it. Delivered within a week. Also the sales person gave us her individual email and contact number and was super responsive to all questions.

2022-06-09I have the bergamo sofa and it has been used for 2 years (technically purchased 4 years ago but it sat unused for 2 years), and the two main cushions have developed a very large sag. The couch is really uncomfortable to sit on at this point. I do not expect this type of breakdown in such an expensive piece of furniture. I highly recommend staying away from this furniture brand.

2022-04-20Where do I begin… I was on Modani’s IG page and saw a sectional that I fell in love with. I instantly went to their website and started a chat. I left my contact info for a sales person to contact me and in 24 hrs my message was answered. This amazing store manager (Kamil Faour) from the garden city, ny store contacted me via text. She told me who she was and that she would love to assist me with my purchase. She spent the entire afternoon assisting me with my over the phone purchase and all the glitches that hinder a smooth transaction. She guided me every step of the way… I can’t wait to reach out to her for my future purchases. She offered top notch customer service professionalism and excellent knowledge of product.Thanks for today Kamil, I can’t wait to place my next order with you.Modani is quality at an affordable price!!!!!

2022-02-03Don’t waste your time they promise 3 week delivery windows they can not meet. They are falsely advertising quick shipments to get people to buy.My couch was supposed to arrive today it never showed up. No one even bothered to call that there was an issue with my purchase (really glad I took the day off of work to be home for the delivery). After phone calls all day and wrong information given several times they offered a 10% discount on a March 17 delivery when the couch order was originally placed on Jan 17.If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
