I only tried the sauna but would definitely would like to try out their other services. The setting is definitely very relaxing and the staff are very friendly.
What a beautiful atmosphere and environment to relax! The Infrared Sauna was INCREDIBLE. I felt amazing and have never slept better. I had never done a sauna outside of the gym and Renee gave me a tour and couldn’t have done a better job making me feel comfortable. Highly recommend!
I had the absolute pleasure of spending my Sunday afternoon with Purdie and it was magical. It was like spending time with a friend. I was nervous as I had never had micro blading done before. But it was painless and I felt so comfortable the whole time. It was something I had wanted to do for so long and after the past year I decided to just go ahead and do it And am I glad Purdie came into my life.
This place is truly a garden of exploration for the mind, body and soul. Immediately upon arrival, I was impressed with the calmness of the space. The decor and aromas transcend you to a place far away from daily life. Over a few months, I’ve tried the salt room, crystal bed and Somadome. All treatments have been new and enriching to me personally. The ability to heal, detox and renew so rapidly in this space is what keeps me coming back for more. Thank you for creating a true wellness center!
7 sensory crystal bed is amazing. Went in not knowing much about what to expect but I’m happy I got to experience it. Excited about planning my next visit. The whole place was beautiful and spotless. Staff was warm and welcoming.
My niece and I went to Modern Sanctuary for a Salt Room session and LOVED it! What a great place! Very serene and the room was relaxing and beautiful! The staff were all very sweet and accommodating. I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!
I booked one of the packages at a great price and it was such a relaxing experience. the woman who guided me through each service was super friendly and knowledgable about the benefits of each treatment. theyre also doing a good job with covid precautions, which i definitely appreciated
The staff was welcoming and the place is pretty cool in a Zen New York way. I tried the Soma dome and it did not dissappoint. The lighting in the dome helped get into a pretty good still meditation. Definitely worth a visit especially if youre looking for stillness in a city that never sleeps.
This place is OK compared to other salt caves Ive been to. The room has only 3 plush chairs and stools which would make it ideal for a halotherapy experience. However, its very brightly lit and was too warm for my tastes. It took me a while to be comfortable in the chair and relax. There was no soothing music in the room although you could hear it in the main area when you first enter. The staff was pleasant.I do give Modrn Santuary credit for offering a multitude of services. I did accomplish what I wanted which was a halotherapy experience to calm my asthma.
This is SUCH a beautiful space! I took an amazing meditation class with Ko in the Himalayan Salt Room. WOW! There are not enough words to describe this room! Salt block walls, a bed of salt on the floor, and salt being pumped in through the air! This room is beyond stunning and I felt like a new human walking out of it! Definitely check it out!
My visit at Modrn was top notch. The staff was very friendly and patient answering all my questions. I tried the somadome which was beyond relaxing and the Himalayan salt room is a must! I’ll definitely be returning and recommend this to anyone.
The himalayan pink salt room was calming, I could have tasted the salt on my lips. Since I got the Groupon deal I got to go back to do yoga in their.
They sell an infrared sauna, but it’s just a hot air sauna with a red light!! False advertising. I brought this to their attention and they were confused. Also, there are no changing rooms or showers so you have to walk out covered with your sweat and massage oil.
I visited Modrn for the salt room and ended up going back for the somadome and sensory 7 bed. I love the calm atmosphere and immediately felt relaxed and rejuvenated. next im going to try the infrared salt sauna! love this place.
I didn’t have a great experience, I walked in seeking to see what services they offer. No one was at the Front desk , waited 20 mins until I can find someone to help me. This place has horrible customer service. Finally when I was able to talk to someone, she showed what seem to be a brochure of out dated treatments that’s really not effective, fake Reiki services, all around terrible experience the minute I walked through the door. What a waste of my time. Please don’t waste your money there. There’s nothing modern about this place. I was confused with this Groupon wellness center. This place is TRASH they DO NOT offer top of the line service yet alone no one seems to be experience. Just of bunch of dummies.

This was one of the nicest spaces I’ve been to recently in NY. The reception area is beautiful and welcoming and my sauna experience was so relaxing. Such a “hidden” gem in flatiron!
I love the salt room. I will definitely go back for yoga in the salt. However, I also tried the Somadome. It didnt work at First, but they fixed it. I feel more relaxed and focused at home than in the dome thats set in the waiting room.
Putting aside the validity of their health benefit claims and the high cost to sit in a room with rock salt on the floors and walls. This is a place that aggregates holistic medicine and aestheticians, many who are not holistic. Find a quiet spot yourself and skip the salt, the smell of acetone, and the cost.

So beautifully and harmoniously structured that you will find something amazing in each corner of the space. Besides that, the personal is wonderful. No cellphones allowed according with the peace and awareness you will receive there.
Whenever I am under the weather or just exhcuasted I go to the salt room and leave feeling rejuvinated. I am a huge fan of Modrn Sactuary and their mission of healing people. I definitely recommend checking it out.

The place was not clean enough, the glasses stained with fingerprints and there was an odor in the sauna.
I cant believe this place is almost 5 stars. The equip they use is cheap and flimsy and customer service sucked. I wasnt acknowledged or directed at all when i got there. Not worth the cost. Also not exactly my idea of therapeutic.

2021-09-29Went for the 30 minute Himalayan Salt room session. A friend had suggested it after his session went so well at another place. He said his pores opened and his sinuses completely cleared up. He loved it so much that he bought a package.I decided to give this place a try after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately, it felt like absolutely nothing. Literally. Nothing. I felt like I was sitting alone in a waiting room filled with salt. There was no smell. Nothing. Just some relaxing music.After leaving, the very nice attendant asked how it was and I told her that I felt nothing. Didnt smell anything. Wasnt covered in fine salt, like he (and other reviews) said I would be. Perhaps I completely misunderstood what this was supposed to be but this was a wholly unremarkable experience. I was told by the attendant that people usually just do this for a place to relax for 30 minutes but that it doesnt really do anything at all.If your thing is paying $35 for 30 minutes to do nothing, enjoy. If theres that big of a market for this, maybe I should be opening my own place. Just find a room - fill it with himalayan salt and watch the $$$ come in.

2022-02-08I went to MS this past Sunday the sauna = truly good. Ive noticed over the years MS has changed drastically, for the worse, in terms of staff and operations (my opinion). Im accustomed to the staffers that were welcoming, smiling and full of personality and that comforting feeling that came over you as soon as you stepped off the elevator. Those things exist no more. The guy at the front desk was very disinterested in my presence and came knocking on the door 2x for me to come out of the suana (unprecedented for me). I wasnt lingering. Got my Groupons refunded. No more MS for me unless its Mississippi !

2017-05-19I visited modern sanctuary for the first time today after meeting the owner a few months ago. Unsure of what to expect, I was blown away from the moment I entered there space. I was encouraged to try a 25 minute session on their brand new crystal light therapy bed which promotes physical and emotional healing. Within the first 2 minute after laying down in one of their heated crystal light beds, I left the busy Manhattan Friday behind and spent the whole duration of the treatment feeling like I was free of worry free and in another world. As I finished my treatment, it took a few minutes to adjust and get out of the intensely relaxed state that I had been in. Modern Sanctuary has over a dozen different individualized treatments and works with professionals in all different fields.

2021-06-28We received a very warm and professional welcomed, arrived a hour earlier and the waiting area was postive, comfortable and set the mood for relaxing. The young lady on duty was engaging, friendly and informative made us feel like family. Registration is a breeze. Groupon redemption was on point and received with no issues. Had fun, relaxed and will be back!!!!

2019-07-27The services they offer are magnificent. Its a wonderful entry into self care. I love the salt room and cant wait to try the infrared sauna. They often ask for customer input for new services. The receptionists are usually pretty nice and welcoming. Its a great place to unwind and recoup.

2020-01-16I went to Modrn Sanctuary on two occasions, to visit the salt room and to try the sensory7 experience. Customer service was outstanding both times. I was warmly welcomed and serviced as soon as I entered the spa. The spa is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. The salt room is magic and the sensory7 experience is a true multi-sensory experience. I plan to visit Modrn Sanctuary again in the future. Thumbs up!

2021-03-25Visited Modrn Sanctuary today for my very first dermaplaning treatment with Rothaus MD. The space is so welcoming and I cant wait to spend more time with their other services like the Himalayan Salt Room and Infrared Sauna! Oh and a massage asap! But on to my review today...Juliana is so wonderful at everything she does! I just received a full face dermaplaning treatment for the very first time, and wow, it’s incredible! My skin is so soft and buttery! I’ve always had lots of blond baby hairs on my face and it’s so fascinating how silky my skin is now without the layer of dead skin and hairs on it. Everything soaks deeper into my skin now and I barely need any make up with how great my skin is looking!I was nervous at first but Juliana explained every step of the process, she continued to give me guidance and check ins throughout her work on my face. It felt very relaxing, like someone was perfectly scratching an itch you didn’t know you had!If you’ve ever considered dermaplaning- book an appointment with Juliana ASAP! I wouldn’t just trust anyone with a razor blade and my face!

2018-05-25This place is heaven! My first experience here was the salt room which was absolutely beautiful. For my next visit I booked a session in the meditation pod which was lovely. The pod has a comfortable plush interior and the top section, which extends down, emits a soft glow. I left feeling so restored and happy! The staff are very welcoming and the space is clean and thoughtfully decorated. I also had the pleasure of meeting the founder, Ms. Alexandra Janelli, during my last visit who took the time to explain all of the services and was so warm and down to earth. She has created an oasis in the city. This is truly a unique and delightful space for self-care.
