So we stop in on 03/24/2018 second time Ive ever had the NON PLEASURE of eating here and what a pig HOLE not one TABLE was CLEAN THE FLOOR....... WELL lets just say the PARKING LOT WAS 10 times CLEANER and the PEOPLE WORKING BEHIND THE COUNTER LOOKED LIKE HOMELESS PEOPLE DIRTY AND LOOKING AS IF THEY HAVENT SHOWERED IN A WHILE this the DIRTIEST PLACE IVE EVER SEEN maybe they should put the same amount of ENERGY INTO CLEANING AS THEY DO YELLING (WELCOME TO MOES) ILL TELL YOU THIS I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR STEP FOOT IN THE PIG HOLE AGAIN....
Staff are extremely unfriendly. Made my order incorrectly and when asked to make another one gave me the excuse that they had no chicken. Super glad I used my birthday reward on a burrito that wasnt even made for me because they didnt want to cook more chicken. Wont ever be going back to this location if theyre too lazy to actually cook the meat ordered.
Very dirty restaurant. I couldnt believe how nothing was cleaned up on both the customer or employees side. Nothing was stocked well at the soda fountain, things were extremely sticky. Behind the counter the guys were making such a mess getting ingredients into other ingredients. Had the white cheese sauce open and go all over everything in my bag. Im going to give the benefit of a doubt saying they were over worked and more staff was needed, but still it was gross an we will think twice before going again.
Good location, employees were very friendly when we got there. Wait time to get our order in was very long, there was only one couple in front of us, and we waited approximately 10 minutes. While waiting, I could not help but notice dust and filth hanging down from the ceiling, directly over food. The walls and ceiling in this area look as if they have not been cleaned in a long while. In addition, they also somehow managed to run out of chicken. Seems odd, as theres only a couple protein options offered.
Did an online pick up order, placed at 12:45 PM was told pickup would be ready by 1:02 PM, showed up at 1:15 and order was not even made yet. When a comment was made to the employee at the cash register she rudely informed that there was other people ahead of me and that things where busy. The store didnt even have a line and the other person picking up told me he ordered and 1PM and was annoyed that they where this late as well. Another female employee joined in to tell me that it wasnt a big deal and they would start my order after another customer who came in after me. To top things off, they messed up our order and when I let them know they argued with me that it was right. Truly the worst customer experience I have ever had. was late coming back to work for this
This is the second and most horrifying experience weve had at Moes. The first experience is similar to this one but this one was worse. We used to love Moes but after visiting last month, we were disgusted with the conditions at this facility. After the visit last month, I called the corporate office and complained and they assured me that something would be done so we returned yesterday with the hope that something was different. It wasnt! In fact, it was worse and we didnt recognize it until after buying our food. First, we could not use the front door and had to enter through the side door. After getting in line, near the front door, we could see that the metal arm that helps the door to open and close was broken and hanging. There were 2 girls working and it took awhile to get our food. We wanted the lime rice but the girl said no and dipped her ladle into the pan pulling out burnt rice and saying its burnt. Next, there was no lettuce and they had to begrudgingly go to the back to get some (this visit was early in the day not long after they opened). Near the check out, where the drinks are, the drinks were warm because they were not covered in any ice at all and the metal bin that they sat in was filthy with white stuff (I dont know what it was) and tortilla chips. This is the same thing that happened when we were there last month. No ice, warm drinks and the last time no ice, no drinks and the soda machine wasnt working either. (Im not sure if the soda machine was working this time because we didnt stay long enough to find out.) There were only 2 red sauces to choose from in the sauce area, whereas in the past, there were around 6. After finding a table which was a chore because they were all dirty, I went to the bathroom to find blood on the toilet, no toilet paper and a disgustingly filthy bathroom. There is a giant crack and seperation (at least 1 inch wide) in the overhang wall that leads to the back bathroom area. Outside the bathroom there is junk piled up and the tvs were not turned on (seriously, how difficult is that?) After sitting down to eat, we noticed how filthy the floors were. The floors looked caked with gunk, dirt and filth. There was no way that we could trust that this food was safe to eat so we threw it all away and went to Panera which was clean, accomodating and professional. I will not return to this Moes and whoever the franchise owner is should be appalled at how it is being run.
The food is amazing there but everything my husband and I go there they are always out of stuff and they refuse to make more . They dont close until 9 pm and we were there at 5 pm and they were out of peppers and onions and they were out of mushrooms and a few othere things and told us that they would not make anymore . Now mind you they still had 4 more hours to be opened and this is not the first time this has happened. Its like that on a daily basis there . So we just turned around and left because we if Im paying for it and I cant get what I want then Im not giving them my business.
Went there for dinner today at 8pm and the first employee serving the meat was rude and the second employee he was serving the cold stuff like cheese and lettuce etc.. he didnt have gloves on.. putting his hands in all that. Then when I was cashing out. I told the third employee that the one guy had no gloves and I was not eating that. While looking over he was serving yet again with no glovee
Stopped in for lunch and had amazing food, dining room was very clean but bathrooms needed some attention, staff werent dirty but a full beard with no cover while working around food isnt good, the guy that made our food was soft spoken but definitely knew what he was doing, he was fast and friendly
The general manager Jen is very unprofessional and dresses very inappropriate with little baby shorts. I asked for the number to corporate and she got rude and nasty she also told a sick employee that they had to stay there sick and vomiting until the employee found proper coverage. I would not recommend Moes not only because of the lack of respect for customers but also because of the unprofessional attitude of the General manager.
ETA: we stupidly went back again (Dec. 2021). More missing food from our order (yes, my husband shouldve checked) and the chips were raw.Ordered a to-go order. $20 worth of our order was NOT in the bag when we got back home. Food looked disgusting and the bowls barely had any food in them. Not a single item we ordered was made correctly. Also, no chips. Not the first time this happened either. Never going back there.
Manager Jen extremely rude. I would not recommend this Moes. go to the next town over . The one in Amsterdam NY is very dirty. Walked in to order food , staff was sitting down at tables not caring that there was an line no workers behind counter aslo no Moes greeting . Tired to order stack but they didn’t have anything stacks made Jen told me I can’t get what I wanted because no one was making the food and they don’t plan to .this is afternoon time ( lunch time ). Ask to speak to higher manager and she walked away as she was saying things I can’t write on here. I high recommend a different moes . You could possibly get sick of how dirty everything is they don’t clean grills they honestly clean nothing. But that manager Jen gotta go. It’s her job to make sure everything is running correctly. Probably only have her as manager because no one wants to work there. I go here once a week every time gets worse and worse. They lost my services done with this place!
Usually have a good result when I go there, however the last time I went I ordered on the mobile app and specifically ordered a home wrecker with pork and when I got the burrito it was meatless. Even for being busy there should be no excuse for blatantly messing up and order. Even if it is Cino de Mayo.
Well I ordered for 5 people to start with and their register system had just errored so they kindly gave us the food on them sho we didnt have to wait while they tried to fix the problem, Awesome.! Always love the food here they fill up whatever you order so its like overflowing. Their queso sauce is the best and we live their fresh made chips and they give you a ton of them as well. Its been a tradition over the past few years for my sisters Anns I to stop their after a group holiday shopping trip
Location has gone down hill since Covid. Placing a mobile order an expecting it to be ready on time is a joke. Gotta way an additional 20-30 minutes to get it. Ice machine is usually out if ice. Soda machine is always out of flavors. Not worth the price. Chipotle may be coming to the area.
There was no typical Moes greeting when I came in. The lettuce was brown and the only drink machine had no ice. The worker said it doesnt work even though they have had multiple repair people out to fix it. The girl behind the counter was arguing with young female customer. Later a customer came in to order but stood alone at the counter for five minutes with no one there to take her order. She eventually walked out and the store lost a sale. The tables were all filthy. Perhaps they only clean them once a day? Ill not be eating at this location again.
We waited a long time for our food and the line was moving really slowly and it was very frustrating. Im giving five stars because the workers threw out somebody who refused to wear a face mask after throwing his food in the trash. Anybody whos willing to stand up to these goobers is okay in my book. But they really should pick up the pace there.
Amsterdam Moes is running one of the better crews. Weve had very good service and even when its incredibly busy the young staff put the effort in to be pleasant and efficient. This has not always been the case at this location.They still have some trouble keeping up with bathroom and dining room clean-up and keeping the salsa station fully stocked when they get hit but thats to be expected in trying to manage employee overhead with appropriate staffing for the busy times. Its not the staff but the staff level as that spot has high highs and low lows for traffic.The staff are at their best moving food out the door and they seem to work well together. They manage the high variability of the busy and down times as well as they can. As a bonus they often catch ways to save on the bill during check out, like ordering a certain combination of items as a special deal to save a buck or two.Keep up the good work.
Been to this one twice in the last 3 weeks . First time was ok even though short staff only 2 people were there but did there best. Second time just now ignored for roughly 5 minutes all the while the two young ladies working there dropping vulgaritys like they were out on the streets heck of a way to run a establishment... Done with that location
Food was excellent! The crew working were awesome...very friendly and walked us through our first time! Dining room needs work...dirty tables... over flowing garbages... bathrooms not clean at all! I am a manager for a food chain...the conditions of dining and restrooms completely unacceptable! But I will stress the crews customer service was on point!
They ALWAYS mess something up I don’t know why I continue to order. Today they didn’t put beef on my nachos and the drink had no ice which wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t FLAT and disgusting. This place is never getting my business again you would think little children run it.
Was better historically. On more recent visits the tables are dirty, they run out of meat/fillers (rice, beans, etc.) holding up the line, and things seem to be in general disarray. Maybe understaffed, but underwhelming experience.On most recent visit: employees had masks on below their chin during a pandemic. No plans to return.
I Usually love going to Moes. But this last experience was not the best. Server was not very polite, and rushed me through my order as if i was unconviencing him, by having him do his job. Tables were sticky and nasty, very apparent that they have not been cleaned in some time.. Chicken was hard and tough. Not an enjoyable experience.
I wish I got the names of the two young men working tonight, Saturday Jan 4th, they were fantastic! So friendly, very welcoming, attentive, quick with my food I haven’t had an experience this great at any of the many moes I have visited! Those two guys really made for a great visit and I will be back again!
I’ve been coming to this Moe’s restaurant for the past year now, stopping in every Friday evening to place my order of a ‘Close Talker’ (previously known as the ‘Personal Trainer’) with chips and a cup of queso. There were some rough patches where I was experimenting with what I sought to be the best salad combination, but in the end I’ve found a comfortable place that has even begun to remember my order and my face.It’s actually a little amusing, but the manager (or assistant manager?) has begun calling me the “hitman” due to the fact I wear black driving gloves reminiscent of spy movies. I don’t mind it in the least however, and have actually fed into the joke a little.I always look forward to Fridays now, dubbing the day ‘Moe’s Night’, and have yet to be disappointed by the Moe’s itself. Sure there was the time they switched to chopped Iceberg lettuce instead of Romaine due to the outbreak of salmonella, and the time they were out of Chicken, the only meat I truly enjoy on my salad, and wouldn’t have any prepared in time for my order. But these were exceptions that any restaurant can have and are mostly beyond their control, so I give them a pass on it.The staff if friendly, if ever so slightly exhausted by the never ending crowds, and my salad is delicious and quickly devoured upon my return home.Now while I haven’t stayed to eat in the restaurant very often, I do know that they have one of those fun soda machines that allow you to mix and match a variety of flavors and sodas. It’s like being a kid all over again, except now I have a receding hairline and have to pay bills every month.Overall I highly recommend this Moe’s location to anyone looking for a reasonably priced Mexican-themed meal.
Delicious food but HIGHLY disappointed that they allowed a puppy to be in the building while ordering food. A German Shepard puppy at that who sheds uncontrollably and can use he bathroom at anytime. Clearly not a service animal either due to the age. No one said a thing and just allowed it to happen.
My most recent visit at moes I was served by tianna and Lou and they were fantastic! Friendly, attentive, really gave me excellent customer service. Please hire more people on their level because they are the ones who will keep me coming back! Thank you both for such a great experience at moes today!I would like to give 4 stars to Phil. Tonight I went in to grab a quick dinner and it was pretty busy. Phil was doing a great job taking care of the rush on his own while the other employees stood around. eventually they got to work but not with the quickness and friendliness that Phil had. I was really impressed with his effort that all the other employees lacked. if it wasnt for Phil Moes would be getting a 1 star rating from me tonight.
The STAFF!!! What a hoot! This group was the best. We had just stopped in after hours of stop and go traffic on the 90. Tired, hangry, 2 whiny kids and a baby. The staff accomodated us and cheered up the kids. Such a positive experience. Thank you!!Love the menu, the drink machine is neat, and the place was very clean. Perfect
Pretty average Moes, but what do you expect for fast food pseudo Mexican? The salsas to me are the stand out, fresh and tasty. The quality of the meat (particularly the chicken) is also good. Perfectly fine for a quick bite, and clean bathrooms! Not a fan of the queso dip, though, tastes like white Velveeta.
Disclaimer: I’m from Texas and I’ve have many different burritos, from food trucks, restaurants and chains like moe’s. But I’ve never had one as bad as the one I got from here. The rice had no flavor, the chicken was dry and hard, the burrito wasn’t mixed at all, the salsa had very little flavor past cilantro and the bell peppers tasted watery.The place was gross, food on the floor everywhere, tables in booths were turned sideways, the seats and tables were dirty as well. When I got there the place was empty, however it did get busy after I sat down with my food. The server making my burrito was nice, but very messy. Instead of using a spoon for my guacamole they used their hands and then rolled and wrapped my burrito so it and the foil was covered in it. The other server getting my chips just dumped them on the basket, spilling onto the tray and the floor. The food prep area was messy with food everywhere. The music was way too loud and the server and I kept saying “What?” to each other because we couldn’t hear. I got the Monday deal, which made my Homewrecker, chips, salsa and guacamole about $9.50 but honestly it wasn’t worth it. I may be picky, but the place was a wreck and that’s enough of a reason for me to not return.
Normally very good experience. Last night I was working late & asked my daughter to pick up Burrito Bowls for herself & me. At 8pm... no rice whatsoever, no jalepeno?!, no cilantro?!, no peppers, no chicken. And then ti top it off, they skimped on the gauc & chips. NOT a quality burrito bowl!
I absolutely love Moes! Its a fantastic place to eat if you love tex-mex food! Its a little pricey in my personal opinion, but the delicious products that they create are totally worth it! The best day to go to Moes is on a Monday; the price of their burritos are around 6 dollars. If you have been to a Moes before, this place is just like every other Moes. Now, if you have never been to a Moes, then I highly suggest you take a break from your diet for just one day and go here for a delicious lunch or dinner! Be sure to grab a take home bag if you eat smaller portions, as this place tends to over feed you! Also, dont forget to order a cup or bowl of queso because the side is just never enough ;).
5 times ordered the same exact thing and all 5 times the prices ranged from 10.6 to 14.4. After the 3rd time I asked why the price increase every time I order the same thing?They say I have to pay what er the register yells them .Sadly... Ill Never darken there doorway again . Way to go Moes... Drive all your customers away!!!
To me everytime Ive went to moes and ordered food it seems like what they give me is smaller and smaller. For instance I went in today and ordered 2 bowls and on both of them it seemed like there was barely anything in there. You could see the bottom of the bowl when it was barely tilted to the side. Everything you ask for seems like they skimp on it and you feel like you have to ask for a little bit more because the first time they barely gave you anything. Idk if Im going to spend the amount of money I do to eat there might as well go to chipotle because I know Im going to get what I pay for. Seems like moes gives you 3$ worth of food for the 7$ you pay. Whats even more funny is I only go on mondays because of the special and they raised the price of that. All and all if you want to over pay for small portion food this is your spot.
I had placed and online order for lunch today and I have celiacs disease - I had noted to have the worker to please change their gloves prior to making my meal and stated that it was going to be Gluten Free - After submitting my order a few moments after I did get a phone call from Moes informing me they were out of the spicy chicken I had asked for and I simply had them replace that with reg chicken - and then he went to inform me of the cross contamination with the corn shells due to being fried in the same fryer as gluten food items - I thanked him so much and just thought so thankful he did reach out to notify me of the cross contamination to inform me. Very pleased!! And the Salad that we turned my hard tacos into is DELICIOUS!!
This is literally the WORST Location ever. I know 6 year olds who can move faster and do a better job than the majority of those employees. How are you going to have a line going out the door but still be as slow as possible and have 3-4 people working but Still getting nothing done? I literally sat there watching my already made burritos sitting there getting cold while the lazy employees did nothing but pass by myself and several other customers waiting for their food or for their order to even be taken. This place is literally a joke. Me and other people ended up just walking out so now Moes is not only losing business but their having to throw out perfectly good food their customers are walking out on. What can anyone really expect from Amsterdam though....UPDATE on 8/24/2018Today moes redeemed themselves because of 2 gentleman that took such excellent care of me and made sure i left 100% satisfied. Their names were jose and steve. Thank you both so much for being so kind and so attentive. Now I’ll come back again.

The one female employee was very rude to the customers.She raised her voice with another female customer i could sense frustration within the crew members they were not working together at all the young kid seemed as though he didnt want to work he was told to cook some bacon and he never did i noticed that they were running out of a lot of things seemed as though they were not rush ready..this was my first time at Moes and im not sure if i want to come back being with the poor service my girlfriend and i and her sister recievedIm a Manager and i would have fired her on the spot and sent the other ones home with a write up and as for the young kid i would also have sat him down and told him either put some fire in it or he is out the door as well!!
First time going to moes......and let me say it was a.....Disgusting and unclean establishment, stood waiting for quite some time as we watched the manager out of uniform wondering back and forth past the door on her cell phone we watched many other employees see us and wonder past the door. Sophia wondered out on her cell phone while picking at her face with her gloves on....gross. She asked me if I needed anything while still texting with her back turned towards me. I had to re ask the same question three times because she was so concerned with her fb and text messages.There was a lot of cross contamination going on not changing gloves after handling money.The protein options looks juiceless and dry with hard outsides I had to inquire as to how long the meat had been out and if there were any fresh ingredients coming out she ignored my fresh ingredient question and said the meats have only been out for less than an hour....rubbish I wasnt born yesterday not only was the meat looking like it was in bad shape it was close to rock hard and room temp if not chilly.Sophia took a customers money and quickly came back and reached her hands into the olives with the same gloves.The drink and utensil station was coated in fuzz and remnants of other unidentifiable things,most of the tables had sauce and food crumbs all over as well as the floors and chairs. For the price your paying for the grass fed beef you would think quality service or at least common sense and respect would come with it.I will not be returning nor will our family.

2022-07-011,000 times better than the last time I was here. Well made food. Fast service. The place was cleaner then ever before.Would give 5 stars but there was a non uniformed employee yelling at her employees. Very rude and allowing her children to help them selfs to cookies and drinks. Shame on her.

2022-04-07Not only has it become frustrating that I can no longer order a burrito with everything in a bowl and the tortilla on the side - they wont even let me pay extra for a tortilla on the side, but now they failed to fulfil a catering order for 25 people. I even called 4 days before to confirm. The staff had no idea what to do and I have not been able to talk to a manager of any type despite multiple calls. Very frustrating. I love the food and staff are nice but the management is clearly lacking.

Unfriendly, unmotivated staff (not understaffed, they had 4) They were out of ingredients, chips were gross, had to wait forever despite no line to be served and then to be checked out. The place was filthy. No music playing. Never going back again. Stay far away.

2022-05-31Went today, while my meal was fine. The guy running the counter overcharged my friend then started to yell at him over it while his co-worker had his belt undone with his hand down his pants. Booths were dirty, counters were dirty, condiment area was dirty. This place really needs routine health inspections so it gets shut down.

2022-01-21If I could I would give it less than 1 star took minimum 10 minutes for the slob in the front to acknowledge our existence and then finally proceed to make the worst burrito I have ever had in my life, Absolutely zero flavor. After an additional 10 minutes I finally get to the register where it took another 5 min to check out and get the disgusting food. To top it all off the man cutting the meat was also simultaneously wiping his nose with his cutting hand. The Amsterdam location is a disaster and everyone working there needs to be replaced immediately if it wants any chance of a comeback. Dont waste your money time or taste buds.

2021-12-07Every six months or so I give this place another try. And it fails, miserably every time. Last time I had to wait 40 minutes behind online orders, some that came in after I had already been asked my order. In fact, the gentleman behind me was tired of waiting and placed his order online while waiting, and checked out quite a bit ahead of me. Tonight, 7 pm, after waiting 20 minutes with one person ahead of me, they had no black beans, no Adobo chicken, most veggies were empty, no potatoes, and when I get to cash out Im told cash only. Being told there was a sign, I decided to go see it. It appeared to be written in red crayon, on the back of a menu, and hung at about two feet off the ground in the front door. I went to my car to see if my wife had some cash and one of the workers started flirting with my 17 year old daughter.

2022-02-13I had previously given a pretty unsatisfactory review, but i think its fair to change it since then, since they seem to have made positive strides with getting better people. The last several trips Ive made have been well worth it.

2022-04-09The General Manager Brian physically fought an employee in the parking lot cops were called and what was done about it? Nothing! He still continues to work his shift, not even the District Manager Carrie would do anything. This place and the people running it are extremely unprofessional and do not need to be in a management position anywhere. Calling the Corporate number on Monday to file an official complaint.
