We had the best sushi, atmosphere and service at Club Sushi over Valentines Day weekend. The restaurant was a great temperature (not chilly like so many places, these days) with fireplaces and a warm ambiance. The owner took the time to check on us and the server was very personable. The food was excellent. The fish is extremely fresh and the prices are reasonable. This is the best sushi restaurant around in our experience.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday there just this week. During nice weather, there is seating outside between two buildings. It is dog friendly so we brought our 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs. A water dish with water and ice was provided. The food was fantastic. We had two of the specials. My ribeye was cooked to perfection. We have also eaten inside this historic building. Very romantic. Almost 24 years ago, Mohegan Manor was the site of our daughters wedding reception. It was beautiful then and the food was great. The owner continues to make improvements to the facility. A great place to celebrate that special occasion. We return frequently. Highly recommend.
I came here a few weeks ago for the first time to have a nice dinner date with my boyfriend. We had the groupon deal and followed the instructions, which said for us to make a reservation and mention the groupon. When we arrived, there weren’t many customers or workers… it seemed like a slow night. So once the man came over & asked us if we had a reservation and we said yes, we took a seat on the couches and waited. When the man finally came back, he looked confused as to why we were sitting there. So again, I gave my name & told him we had a reservation. The man took us to our seat, which was located on the patio. We were not asked if we wanted a patio seat, which we did not.. but it was our first time here and we weren’t sure if that was the only available seating, so we didn’t say anything. The patio had potential to look very nice & fancy, but it fell short, and considering the prices on the menu, I expected more. But we remained excited for our dinner date. The patio held about 7 tables and everyone had a nice looking table & chairs except for us. All the other guests had nice, black cloth table covers & nice chairs. Our table on the other hand, had metal chairs that looked and felt like bleachers at a high school football stadium. And our table cover was plastic-like, it was super oversized for the size table we had, which was unbelievably small and we had absolutely no room. Upon a further look, I noticed it had small dead bugs all over it… like it was stuffed away in a garage somewhere and they just pulled it out and didn’t bother to wash it. We felt like since we were “groupon” customers, they didn’t think we were worthy enough for a clean table. But still, we remained hopeful. Then our waiter came out.. who seemed uninterested to take our order & looked like he was focusing on other things, rather than our table. At one point, he even talked badly about a co-worker, and used the “F” word. I found that very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I gave him my order, he gave me a look and began to explain what it was that I was ordering, like I was unaware. I was fully aware of what I was ordering and confused as to why he was elaborating on what the dish was, like I was supposed to change my order. When the food arrived, both of our dishes were just okay and certainly not worth the menu price for them. Additionally, the overall service was extremely slow. Our waiter was being helpful to all of the other guests around us, but we had to wait an hour for our main course. When we requested the check, that took another 25 mins to arrive, which they added on the gratuity automatically & It was a more generous tip than I would’ve given for the service . And meanwhile, the sun began to go down and the mosquitos were unbelievable. I know they can’t control their mosquitos, but perhaps some repellant candles outside would have been nice, or they could’ve asked us if we even wanted to sit outside, because we would’ve said no.Overall, the experience was quite unfavorable and I would never go here again & would certainly not recommend it to others. If you have the groupon, I would suggest not telling them on the reservation that you have it, since you will be treated differently than their other guests.
Attended a wedding and was blown away with the venue and staff. Its got an old time feel that really makes it feel comfortable and welcoming. Huge plus for the comedy show downstairs, not sure how often they do that, but it worked out for the weekend we were there. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Mohegan Manor is a beautiful place to get married, the catering staff were friendly and quick to help. Our wedding was great and Im glad we chose this venue, although I wish we had asked our photographer bring a flash and reflector since the lighting wasnt the best indoors (for photos). Also, it at times it felt as though I wasnt being heard by management mostly when in person. They were pretty quick in responding to texts and emails. Make sure you confirm that your special dietary plates are available to be made - I had a bridesmaid that is vegan and the chef said that the meal we had requested ahead of time, with management, was not in his notes. They did make her a vegan dish, but they covered it in blue cheese. The chef and the catering staff were quick to fix that once I brought it to their attention. The food was delicious, and exactly what we wanted for the regular meal items.I reached out after the wedding with a few questions about left behind items (or things I had forgotten to have someone else grab) and still have not gotten an answer - its been about 3-4 weeks. Myself and my Bridesmaids were given an air conditioned room to get ready, which was great because it was a very hot day!If you are looking for a beautiful place to get married - especially for the attractive factor, this is a good choice.
Staff is really nice and Im always very appreciative of that. Im just never impressed by the food. Its like thats fine, thats good, thats alright. Its a nice setting for a nice date night. Just dont expect to be blown away by the food.In reply to the owner, as I dont see how to complete a direct response.Ive had a variety of dishes. Ive had Sushi, The Pulled Pork Burrito, a Pasta dish and we came in for Dining week and I had a soup, the fried calamari steak and a pork dish. All were ok to good.
Food was disappointing. They should try to stick to one thing instead of steak house, Mexican, Asian, Italian all in one and none of it done well. table had to send two plates of the pork osso buco back because it was so tough. Service was slow. Out of the 7 dinner there was nothing to write home about.
Very disappointed. First visit the meal was excellent but the waiter bashed the owner which was quite embarrassing. The 2nd visit we made a reservation and there was no door greeter to seat us. So we went to the bar and thought the price for house wine per glass was crazy as even high end restaurants are within reason. We finally sat down and the waitress wanted to take our order before allowing us to view the menu for a minute. Seemed a bit dark as well. Far from intimate for upscale dining as the tables around us were extremely loud. When our order was placed she didnt return to the table and was ignoring customers. They seemed to be out of everything from the start and it was still early for dinner. We were unimpressed with the appetizers prior to the meal. When we became discouraged after quite sometime going unnoticed and dirty dishes were not cleared from our table the waitress was addressed on the poor service and unhappy with us alerted the owner who in fairness asked what he could do to make it right. At this point unfortunately too many things had went wrong and we left without dinner. We were so discouraged and in disbelief that the owner did not address his staff or notice this going on when he was walking around the tables. The waitress also asked us if we were members at the start of dinner. We felt that was demeaning as we frequent upscale restaurants and should be treated the same as a member if they want customers to return. Unfortunately this bad experience has left us with a poor review and no 3rd chance. Not many people can tell you what the word TIP stands for....To insure promptness....unfortunately that was not accomplished for us :(
Went to the Manor tonight with customers for dinner. Excellent selection of draft beer among with a full bar to choose from. The oyster special and crab cake appetizers were fantastic. I had the steak and scallops. They were prepared perfect. For dessert the lemon cake was outstanding.
First time here and it was for a bridal shower. This old building charm made for a lovely, warm setting for the party. Fireplace included. Buffet style brunch. Comments I heard were all good. The chef did have to put together a last minute vegan dish of cooked veggies for my daughter and me, which was tasty. The bride said the vegan dishes were discussed ahead but seemed to be overlooked by the hostess. They worked it out quickly. There is street parking plus a parking lot in the back with an entrance bringing you directly into the bar. I have no idea what the cost is to dine here because I was a guest. Separate bathrooms for women and men.
I ordered sushi to go tonight, and it was so delicious. The sushi was fresh and the tempura batter was light and crispy. Its actually my new favorite sushi spot in the area, considering the Asian cuisines in Liverpool and Syracuse! We will definitely be back to dine in!
We went late on a Sunday and were seated in an odd location of the sushi bar, not the main restaurant. The music was loud, and the atmosphere was almost like the Twilight Zone, because there was practically no one else in the restaurant. They certainly had an extensive sushi menu, although the roll we got was good but not great. The main meal was good, but expensive for the quality. It was not a bad experience, just an odd one. Not sure if wed go back, but if we did, it would be during a peak time so we could sit in the main dining room instead.
I’m not sure what really happened here tonight if we were part of some crazy new dining experience I wasn’t aware of or what..... we made a reservation for 7pm for 7 people. Upon arrival our group was asked to wait in the bar until everyone arrive which is perfectly fine and understandable. We notified the staff upon our whole party arriving and they still told us to wait. After tracking down someone again we were shown to our seats. None of us had been to this place before and we thought restaurant week would be a great opportunity to step outside the box. Which was quite the mistake. While the waiter was kind and considerate and none of what is to follow is on him so thank you James for being one of the only redeeming qualities of the night! While poor James is trying to take our drink order a lady who is running food is interrupting him constantly .... after two tries our 4 beverages (the others had drinks from the bar still) we order and delivered approx. 10 minutes later. Again we tried to order dinner but the same lady kept coming to tell this young waiter he was needed in the kitchen and asking him questions while he tried to take our order. Which kind of was a task in itself because of the loud booming of pop hits you could hear clearly as if you were at a dance club from the sweet 16 party upstairs. The first course finally arrived and some plates better than others but very inconsistent for those that had got the same item. The sushi that we ordered to accompany our first course was however fantastic! The second course came at various times for the 7 of us and we had to ask for one of our parties food as it had been forgotten. They were accommodating to switch out the Brussel sprouts that arrived with meat on them for our friend who cannot eat meat but only after there was a disagreement about if it was meat or not ... which turned out to be some sort of dried meat like pepperoni or salami. And then we wait.... and wait .... and wait ... and wait.... approximately an hour goes by and we finally receive our last course, thank god my friends are hilarious or I would have been bored out of my mind. And the waiter did bring us bread when we asked if there was something we could have during the wait.... however upon arrival the lamb dishes that were ordered were extremely rare like fresh out of the fridge rare. Before someone says that you’re supposed to eat your lamb that way believe me I understand but it was like it was straight out of the fridge rare. They did refire the meals but at that point we just wanted to go after being there for over 2.5 hours enough was enough. At one point at the end of our meal a older gentleman which I would assume to be the owner came over and I expected him to ask how our meal was or to apologize for the delays or the extra rare lamb but he simply asked if we needed more beverages and moved along quickly when we said no thank you. We did ask James if this was normal for this restaurant and his response had to do with the private party upstairs and the number of dishes the kitchen staff was responsible for. While I can understand that but if you’re going to participate in these kind of events I would at least perform a menu that my kitchen could execute flawlessly if not for the sake of the diner to have a great experience but at least for the kitchen staff not to be so bogged down. All and all the sushi was good, James the waiter was a good sport and the company was fantastic but next time we venture out to B’ville I think we’ll skip Mohegan Manor.
Two tall, steep staircases to banquet and gathering areas, no elevator, small chair lifts for individuals unable to handle stairs. The staff did not properly clasp the safety belt - very scary! An unfortunate choice of venue for a wedding with many older guests. Roast beef was great, but some chicken portions were raw and the vegetables were blah. Small portions served by staff on buffet line. Not recommended for receptions.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in town. Dont be scared off by this place being labeled as a sushi restaurant. The sushi is AMAZING, but they also have Mexican food, other Asian-style dishes and lots of American cuisine, like steaks and seafood. Theres something for everyone here. My favorites are the lobster lover sushi roll and the lamb chops. The house dressing (if its always the same) is really good too. I am sure all the wait staff is nice, but after our first experience with James, we request him every time. Between take out and dine in, we eat here once a week or more!
This restaurant brings back many fond memories with friends and family over the years. I have made some great friends here as well. The fine dining is top notch and the dishes I have enjoyed are too many to recall. If they still have the Prime Steaks I highly suggest them! I have been to weddings here and fundraisers and it is always well maintained and such a cool atmosphere! Four floors to entertain on and it is in a historic building which adds character and interest as well. The owner, Dennis, who I have come to know well over the years is always welcoming and comes to visit to make sure we are always well taken care of. Hospitality at its finest.
Had my sons 21st birthday party in the huge private lounge downstairs. What a great spot for an event or party. They have a huge bar with great selections, excellent sound system with ten thousands music options, 2 fireplaces, multiple couches and private seating areas. The 9ft pool table was a hit. had over 30 people for a 4 hour party and the place was perfect. The private bartender was so nice and on top of everyones needs. The sushi platter and caseadias were excellent. Will be returning for retirement party. 2 guest of ours were so impressed that they are scheduling there upcoming functions.
This place is soooo good. Its an old building so it has tons of character the floors squeak when you walk thru they have plenty of seating inside and a nice size deck in back. The owner greeted us at the bar and walked us to our table outside. We looked at the menu and they had a great selection. Seafood steak burgers sushi mexican lots of variety. The food is not average at all it is exquisite. Its made fresh so it takes a little longer. But dont let that discourage you. It is well worth the wait. They bring you bread with infused oil to dip it in. Very good all kinds of red pepper and garlic in the oil. Yummy. We had bone in rib steak garlic mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The steak was one of the best Ive ever had potatoes were seasoned just right. The veggies were mushrooms Brussel sprouts artichokes and broccoli. Tossed together over a flame. The staff was very helpful. So to end. I would recommend this place if your looking for top of the line food made fresh in house.....DELISH!!!!
The mohegan manor and club sushi is a joke. I was greeted as I walked in a older man named Dennis he was very pretentious and seemed more interested in notifying me that he owned the place and was quick to return to the bar. The place seems thrown together and odd smells seem to come from club sushi (located in a basement of 1900s building) almost like a moldy dead animal. I requested to be seated upstairs. I proceeded to order off a menu that clearly was thrown together and was very disappointed in my choice of sushi. I also couldnt help notice the older gentlemen(owner) Denis seemed to stumble around the restaurant interrupting costumers during meals to spark conversation he clearly was intoxicated and seemed to be more of annoyance than anything. My waitress also was incapable of telling me much about the sushi I was ordering ...if you find yourself here turn around because this place has a identity crisis ...is it a sushi restaurant or a fine dinning restaurant..neither its a joke
I went into Mohegan manor tonight as part of a village winter program, it was a poker run type of thing. Out of 10 bars I paid the most for a bottle of bud and received a 6 month old bottle of beer way past its prime that tasted like crap, I will not ever bother to go there again, there are plenty of bars in bville that sell fresh beer at a reasonable price. ,
Dennis Sick the owner of Mohegan Manor is an arrogant , unprofessional human being ! My daughter planned a surprise Birthday party for me at his restaurant ! A party of 25 , that he gladly accepted her deposit for ! The day of the event she and a couple of other family members arrived at the restaurant , 1 hour early with a cake and balloons ! To find the establishment CLOSED ! In a panic my daughter began trying to contact Sick , with no response ! Eventually he walked out of a bar , across from the restaurant , reeking of alcohol , and literally knew nothing of the event , until he scrolled through his phone and found it ! His generous attempt to make it right was to give my daughter back her deposit , and an extra whopping $25 for the inconvenience ! The inconvenience of now trying to figure out what to do for a party of 25 , for her mothers surprise 50th birthday party ! When he returned my phone call , I personally thanked him for destroying my Birthday , and demanded he apologize to my daughter , and he instead chose to hang up on her ! Enough said ! FYI I would have given him zero stars but it wouldnt let me !!!!

2022-05-26The owner is an amazing individual and a pleasure to speak with. The atmosphere is inviting and staff are consummate professionals. It was refreshing to find this little slice of heaven nestled so well in the heart of Baldwinsville, NY. You will be had you stopped in.

2022-05-06I really wish I had taken a picture of the steak salad! One salad was enough to feed a family of 4! Delicious! Steak was well seasoned and you know how salads always taste better when someone else makes them? Very true here as well. However, it was just really good, lettuce was crisp, veggies yummy, tomatoes had flavor! I was skeptical but tasted sooo good. Thank you!

2022-04-06I lived in Baldwinsville for the past 6 years and tonight was the first time Ive been to Mohegan Manor. My wife, two children and I had the warm mushroom salad and the escargot as an appetizer and they were phenomenal. My kids had mac and cheese and a cheese pizza for their main course and they loved it.. My wife had the eggplant parmesan and it was delicious. I had the pork ossu bucco and it one of the best meals Ive had in a long time. Even the house salad dressing was great. We had creme brulee cheesecake for dessert and loved every bit of it. My only regret of the evening was that it didnt happen 6 years ago! I think my wife and I have found our new favorite date night spot! Our server Michael was great and Dennis was a gracious host. We will definitely be back.

2021-11-07Dennis was great to work with and provided a beautiful space for our wedding. He worked with us on changing the date due to my stepfather’s deployment being extended during Covid. The food is always delicious there and his staff is always friendly and on point.
