My wife loves to support local businesses and figured she give Moms Ceramics. The owner made a custom made platter for my wifes bf bridal shower in July. All the of the guests at the bridal shower signed the platter and my wife returned to Moms Ceramics to have it sealed and fired off in the oven. Since August my wife has had limited communication with the owner. When she does she gets made promises but the owner never follows through with them. This was supposed to be a bridal shower gift and my wife is very upset by it.
This is my happy place! CATHY; the owner; is fabulous! Shes welcoming and so are the regulars . CATHY is very talented and creative. Ive been going there for years now and net plan to Stop! She always has new items to work on! I highly recommend Moms Ceramics
Sorry to say that a fun girls’ night turned into an epic disaster. My girls and i decided to attend an event at the store to make a snow man cookie jar. We had a great time! During the painting of the cookie jar, they emphasized the importance of painting your initials on both pieces of your snowman, which we all did. This detail will be important later .. read on. :) At the end of the night we learned that we would not be taking our snow men home that night, as they needed to go into the kiln, and it would be about a week before we could pick them up. Okay, fine. We asked the owner if she’d like to take our phone numbers to call us when they were ready. She laughed and told us that was way too much, she would never remember to do that, so please just watch her Facebook page, she would post when they were complete. I thought that was a bit strange .. can’t manage to call ten people to let them know their project is ready for pickup? But okay. Fast forward almost two weeks later and there has been no post on Facebook. My girlfriend calls the owner who tells her, “oh, yes, they’re done, come pick up” — great! How the heck were we supposed to know that?? 🙄 anyway, my girlfriend goes to pick up .. they’re missing the body to by cookie jar and the hat to my girlfriend’s cookie jar! It’s a big mystery, no one knows where they could be. My girlfriend leaves the store with a couple of half completed snowmen cookie jars and is promised they’ll let her know when they figure out what’s going on. She waits, hears nothing, reaches out to the owner, texts repeatedly .. no response!! Finally my other girlfriend decides to stop in the store several days later. They find her snow man hat, but they’re still unable to locate my snow man’s body. After some investigation, they find that someone else “accidentally” took home my snowman body instead of their own. The problem is that for as much as they told us to make sure we painted our initials on the jar, they don’t check what people are taking as they came to pick up their jars, so people can just take whatever they want. That being said, they contacted the person who had the wrong body and that person said they would bring it back, and we could pick up the correct body a few days later. In the meantime, i had texted the owner for an update. She told me she would be in the store in an hour and let me know if she found my body. I said great, thanks. She never, ever texted me again after that. I texted her repeatedly asking to please just let me know if the body was located, if it was back in the store, and she couldn’t even be decent enough to give me a yes or no response. Absolutely nothing. It wasn’t until i was about to dispute the charge on my credit card that my girlfriend reached out to her and she gave a snotty response saying “the body is here just like i said it would be”. All in all i find it absolutely disgusting how someone can run a business this way. Disgraceful lack of communication and then to be rude on top of it!! All because of their own lack of attention and mistakes!! NEVER AGAIN!! and it’s so disappointing because we actually really enjoyed the activity.
I was in town visiting my friend and her 3 kids we took them here and it was a hit. I made a piece myself and they went out of the way to make sure it was ready before I headed back home. Really impressed I will be back the next time I visit!!
They got spots on my piece when they glazed it. Otherwise a good place to paint ceramics.
Mom’s ceramics is the best.... it’s my home away from home.... Cathy the owner the nicest person I have ever met ... she goes above and beyond in every way possible.... I have personally seen her stay at the shop many hours past closing to finish projects for people who needed them yesterday, when they only started them today.... she puts in 100 percent all day and everyday .... she never stops... always trying to do everything for everyone... she has a true passion for what she is doing and is always finding new and fun projects for all of us to do.... if you want to get out and have some fun this is the place to go.... even the customers always go out of their way to help everyone... and you will never feel like the new person ever!!
This is great place owned by a wonderful creative women named Cathy. All the women that attend class are helpful and nice..we have a lot of fun and even more laughs...Ive been going since she opened..its just agreat place!!

2022-04-29What a welcoming environment!We had our staff party here and could not have picked a better spot. It was a welcome relief to connect with each other in person, to engage our creative sides, and create something to take home. We even brought our own drinks and ordered food from the nearby pizza spot. Cathy easily creates an inviting space for any skill level, always ensuring youre having a good time forming your creation. You better bet well be back on our own, with our partners, our families, and for their events! What a gem.

2021-03-03Looking for an enjoyable time, Pop into Moms Ceramics!Spent last night talking, laughing and painting with my family and other patrons in the shop.Cathy (the owner) is a lovely woman, very helpful and informativeto all new-comers. The shop has many options to choose from.The environment is friendly. Prices are pleasantly affordable.This was my first time painting ceramics and I will do it again!Give it a try, youll enjoy it!

2021-04-25Cathy was AMAZING! We had our daughter’s 3rd birthday party there and it was so much fun. Cathy helped plan everything and made it so easy for me. She is so kind and clearly loves what she does. The kids had a blast and we can’t wait to go back!

2021-03-02Theres no place like Moms. Cathy and her art studio are amazing. The shop offers many types of art classes for the novice to expert artist/crafter. Everyone is friendly, social and helpful. I very much enjoy my time at Moms ceramics. Being creative is art therapy for me. Take time to enjoy some :me time, youll be happy you did.

2018-01-20Found moms almost 2 years ago and new immediately it would become my favorite place. Cathy the owner is an amazing artist and can help anyone create a masterpiece. Everyone there is like a big happy family. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. It’s no wonder they were voted best on Long Island.
