Had to be towed over to Austin and his crew over at monro for a missing caliper bolt and it turns out i had a coolant leak as well. They took my car right in and were able to get it fixed up for me. Austin went beyond expectations and has made this situation completely stress free. I would recommend this Monro to anyone! Good guys looking out for people
I had an 8AM drop off appointment to get my car looked at I show up the guy tell me I have no appointment I show the guy the email request he then tells me at 8AM that he won’t see my car today I really don’t t know who dropped the ball the man that’s overworked or the website that let’s put requests in and the store not receiving any of them. I don’t see this place lasting much longer if they only schedule one person
We have had a great experience at Monro Muffler on Grant Ave. We have taken our vehicles there for several years now. Kevin is very knowledgeable and never once have we felt like we were being told we need to have work done that was unnecessary, unlike other places we have been. Our experience has been wonderful, and we always recommend them to friends and family. If you need your car worked on call Kevin at Monro!
I just took my vehicle to Monro for NY State inspection, wipers and an oil change and had excellent service. I have been bringing my vehicles there for many years and they are awesome, especially the manager Kevin Gorton. He is so personable and knowledgeable. They always call me first if there is a major repair that needs to be done, and they try and give you the best price they possible can. I highly recommend them for all your car repairs, not just mufflers!
Kevin the manager really knows what hes doing. We have been taking our vehicles to him for years. Always fixed right the first time. I have been a auto tech for 35 years and the last thing I want to do is work on my own vehicles. With Monroe and Kevin I dont have to worry about it.
Monroe muffler in Auburn, NY is the place to take your vehicle if you want great service that is dependable. My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to Kevin for over 25 years. Always get great service. Will tell you what needs to fixed, if it needs fixed now or if it can wait a bit. If your vehicle isnt safe, he will do what he can to make it safe. Would not let me take my truck home one afternoon because it wouldnt be safe. Convinced me to leave it at the shop and his guys had it fixed the next day. Even finally convinced our daughter she needs a professional mechanic working on her car instead of a fly-by-night friend. She now takes her car to Kevins shop for everything. Wont go anywhere else. Only shop we trust with our vehicles.
Disappointed. I suppose I deserve what I got because I was trying to save money. I purchased AutoZone parts and brought everything to Monro for the labor. Front brake rotors, pads and sensor replacement.They did the work but couldn’t reset my car’s computer. They didn’t test drive the car, but I didn’t ask them to.Turns out the brake rotor was warped out of the factory and I ended up with a bad vibration on braking.I had the whole job redone in Syracuse and they told me the sensor was either never replaced, or the sensor they put in wasn’t secured and was severed. When I called to let Monro know of the warped rotor, they said that I could buy new rotors from them which they would guarantee and they’d replace them, but labor costs and cost of new parts would be incurred. Maybe this makes sense to Monro from a financial point of view, but made me feel they don’t stand behind their work. After finding about the sensor yesterday, I decided to leave a negative review. I wouldn’t go back there— despite the COVID economy, they showed no interest in cultivating me as a repeat customer. In a service business with lots of choices for consumers out there, this is not a good strategy.
Was alittle concerned that there was only one guy working in the whole place? Get him some help! Took about 40 minutes and could have been done faster if he didnt have to stop what he was doing to answer the phone and talk to customers as they walked in. Andrew was friendly and helpful.
Ive been going to Monro in Auburn for several years and always have a pleasant experience. There are very few mechanics who are honest and will tell you when you do *not* need to service your vehicle. I know I can trust the manager, Kevin, and the other employees to take care of my care without taking advantage of me.
Monro Auto Service is a great place. I have been using this place and dealing with manager Kevin for 20 years. They are very honest and fair pricing .I have reccomended many people to go there. I will not take my vehicle anywhere else. Keep up the great job. A loyal customer for life. Elaine
They were going to charge me $1350 saying my water pump needed to be replaced. I gave them my info to find out if I was eligible to open a credit card with them to pay for it. I went with my gut instinct, and brought my car elsewhere to be fixed. Water pump wasnt broken. I just got a letter in the mail saying that even though I didnt give them permission to do so, they still opened up a credit card in my name. Please, go anywhere else.
I have gone to this Monroe for 15 years. The reason is because they are always very professional and helpful. Whatever they are fixing/ taking care of on my vehicle is always done right and I leave a happy girl.Just want to say THANK YOU and the work you do is appreciated!
I only give one star because the owner was super nice. His employee stole out of my vehicle. I notified the owner. I paid for synthetic oil change but I only received regular oil. Thank goodness my engine wasnt ruined or else I would have sued. I do NOT recommend going there!
Can very highly recommend this place to anyone...Ive been there numerous times through the past few years, and have never had anything but an awesome experience! The manager, Kevin Gorton, is THE BEST in the business...and, he better stay there as long as I drive, lol! Hes reliable, knowledgeable, and honest...and, I know I can always count on him. Whether its something scheduled, such as an oil change or inspection...or an emergency, like a ball joint or strut snapping as I leave work...hes always taken my car right in, and provided the best service I could ask for...always with a smile, even on a busy Friday afternoon. I went here because this place had decent reviews. I made an appointment online and when I got there at my appointed time, the guy at the desk said they had a lot of cars and to come back an hour later. He was rude and not helpful. When I came back, he said, “You don’t give up do you?”Well, definitely giving up on that place. Not going there again.
I was a hot wreck.!!!! I had just purchased a used vehicle and was having second thoughts about buying it... all weekend I avoided driving my new to me car. A 2009 Honda Civic. I researched on the net where I could get a 25 point safety inspection . I started reading reviews for this store. I was impressed especially regarding the staf. I can’t say enough about this place. The staff especially Kevin are extremely friendly very knowledgeable and Thorough. Kevin answered all of my questions and Eased my mind. When the inspection was done.( By Carl whom will be the one working on my vehicles ) Kevin took the time to explain everything they did to me. My husband had an appointment there this morning and the minute he walked in the guy was rude and he told my husband he didnt have one and he said Im not inspecting your vehicle today he was saying the f word and cussing my husband out telling him he needs to respect america and told my husband to get out I will not be taking any vehicle there again he just kept saying f you he had no right to speak to my husband that way
Im sorry to say but I had a poor experience at this business, while visiting family from out of state, I had all four shock and spring replaced here, when I left I noticed that my shocks were new and clean, but the springs were dirty and covered with fine mud and surface rust.. Then I discovered that instead of installing NEW break lines that I paid for, they simply cut the old ones and left them hanging there, then installed homemade aluminum lines rite beside them, and hung them with zip ties! Poor business, and dishonest to boot. There are many other shops in town, take your business down the road. 😥
Guys who enjoy working on cars nice as can be bring you in show you the issues ask questions your not just sitting in the room wondering what’s going on you’ll get an update every ten mins or every time the phone rings ... every two mins the entire 40 minute I was there for a pick front end alignment they sent it straight with what they had to with withHighly recommended
Monro is the best in the area if you need work done this is the place to go you will be greeted by Kevin store manager or his assistant manager Matt both great guys and always willing to help you in anyway they can to get you going down the road safely and the technicians do amazing work!!!! Andrew (front desk) is friendly, fun, and up front with me on what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and any service/pricing/warranty options that are available to me. The work done is always top notch and I highly recommend going there for quality service by mechanics without any shady performances or work. My preferred place to have my car worked on!

2022-08-13We ran into car trouble when our coolant reservoir burst. The 2 men working here were the only willing people to stop what they were doing, take a look at what the problem was and suggest a temporary fix until we could reach a Nissan dealer for a dealership related issue. They even helped seal our reservoir and refill our antifreeze. I would recommend as first time customers that are not based in Auburn, as they are such helpful and reliable people. Gave SO many helpful suggestions and were ready to answer any questions or concerns we had. Come to Monro if you need patient and understanding employees. They’re not here for a quick money grab and won’t make you feel rushed.

2021-07-13I purchased my car from a dealer and it was problems from day one. I brought it to the dealer 3 times, who over the course of the 2 months Ive had it in for repairs for 5 weeks. I get it back after the third attempt and about an hour away from my home in Rochester, the Check Engine Light started flashing due to both driver-side cylinders misfiring. I cant stress just enough how lucky I was to have been towed to this place.The moment I got there, Austin and Richard were super kind, understanding, and accommodating. They listened to my tired and frustrated explanation of how screwed Id been, and went through the options I had available to me. They listened to what I suspected and took my ideas seriously.I had to leave my car there since then, and have spoken with them several times since. Theyve continued to be understanding, and were looking out for my best interests. They knew that given the likely cause, itd save all of us time and money and effort for me to have my car towed to a nearby dealer. They recommended dealers and towing companies nearby which made me not have to search. On top of all of this, they decided not to charge me for the diagnostic they did.These are the type of people who make a terrible, long, and tiring day better. The moment you talk with them you know theyre looking out for you, and not just trying to take your money or take advantage of you. I would absolutely go here again.

2021-08-01Was recommended to by my brother and did not disappoint. Very nice and helpful folks. Went in to flush out coolant and were able to find any leaks that I had, describe and show them to me. A bit busy, so make sure to make an appointment a couple days ahead of time.
