Tom at Monro Auto in Avon, NY was very friendly and personable. He was honest with me, and didnt try to talk me into a repair I didnt need. They are honest and will be my go to place for any future oil changes or repairs.

Store Manager was very accommodating: I took my car in Sunday afternoon with a flat tire. He quickly ordered my tire and had it picked up from Rochester so I could have my car Monday. He kept me informed of the process. Thank you for wonderful customer service!
Superb service here. Tecs loosened a bolt forMe that I couldn’t get myself and gave me a replacement on the house. I will definitely be going back here to have my car serviced. ToMonroe muffler corporate-give the guys who r working the counter a raise so they don’t quit
Chuck went above and beyond to make sure I could get brake system fixed. The guys ran into a couple problems and stayed late Sunday to make sure my car was safe to drive for me to have it for work.
I took my van to Monro for squeaking brakes in the back. They called me and told me ALL brake pads and rotors MUST be replaced. I was pretty sure that wasnt the case. The rotors may have had some wear, but they still have life in them. I had just had the rotors looked at by my normal (and reliable) mechanic a few months prior. I just told him to replace the pads in the back and the brakes are working fine.On top of that, though. They told me I MUST replace the hub bolts. They made it sound like, if I dont they wont be able to use them. I was in a hurry on the phone, so agreed. He never told me the cost or warned me of the cost. I paid $6 per hub bolt and ended up paying for 24! Theres no way ALL of them needed replaced. Maybe none of them did.I felt the gentleman was manipulative and irresponsible in his communication to me. My only positive is that they were able to take the vehicle quickly and got the job done fast.That said, I will not go to Monro again and I do not recommend them.
Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Have a courtesy shuttle, but no we cant take you 1 mile to your office in the freezing cold temps. Declined to have them repair an issue that was covered under warranty at the dealer on my vehicle. Wouldnt work with me or help me any further. No manager available to talk to. Should have never returned after they took a grinder to my parking brake shoes and told me that was the fix to get them to stop running.
Another great service experience thanks to Frank and the crew at Monro in Avon. I received quality, courteous, professional service - at a great price. My vehicle maintenance was completed while I waited - and was finished in a timely manner. The freshly updated waiting area looks great, and is clean and comfortable. Took my car in for brake service and after the inspection they found what I expected. New rotors/pads front & back and caliper service. All good. However I was quoted almost $1200 for this work. I told the sales guy I couldnt swing that. So he called his district manager and got it down to $825. Still a no-go for me. Then he asked where do you need to be? and then offered to do it for around $650. Now at that price I probably would have done it, but I was turned off that they essentially wanted to charge double that at first. So I passed on the repair and took my car elsewhere.
Curt is the best! They fit me in last minute and spent quality time ensuring I got the best service possible. Great customer experience and I highly recommend coming here. They will treat you like family and fix anything quickly/efficiently! I drive all the way from Rochester because they are great!
I read a bad review from I guy who took his car there the other day. I guess if your car needs work it needs work. If the store closes at 7 I guess you should get there before that. The guys in this store are the most honest and friendly I’ve ever met. Keep up the great work and remember you can’t stop people telling lies from behind the cover of the internet. Good quality work and honest customer service. The work I had done was done on time, and as expected. The store manager (Kevin) explained the problem to me, and agreed to save the replaced parts for me to evaluate. Once the job was finished we both looked at the parts and he explaind why they made the recommendation for replacement. Overall I was very happy with the result.
I’m giving this a one star review only because less is not possible. The manager on duty was rude to several customers while I sat there for over an hour to be told that my vehicle would not pass inspection. I waited an additional half hour after being told this to get an estimate on what “needed to be fixed” and for my vehicle to be brought back out. Overall, I am sick at how obvious it is that this place is a profit maker as many people need an inspection and have few options but to fork over obscene amounts of money to these people in order to legally drive their vehicle. By the way, not only did I waste my time sitting there but I had to pay for “the privilege” AND drive off without my inspection as their time is paid by NYS law whether it passes or not.....I refused to pay them for the repairs they suggested to deem my vehicle safe as I’m sure I could find more affordable elsewhere. Bottom line, don’t go here, I’m aware that almost many business chain mechanic shops do the same thing but the fact that this place provided it with a side of jackass is inexcusable.
They wouldn’t air up my tires, said their hose was too short to reach outside. I offered to pull my truck in, they told me to take it across the street to the gas station. It’s funny because their air hoses reached out side during the summer, maybe the cold caused some form of shrinkage. Last year they pinched my fuel line while doing an oil change, was without my car for three days waiting for parts. Used to be a good place to take your vehicle, but the service has certainly gone downhill.
Kurt is very accommodating and has helped me on many occasions. The entire team is very friendly, helpful, and respectful. I’ve been taken advantage of at other car mechanic locations but this place is above and beyond what you would expect at a “chain mechanic”. It feels like I’m going to my family mechanic every time, and being so far away from home, that makes Avon feel just that much more special to me!
Kurt and his crew are top notch. I lost my brakes towing my bass boat. Found out my master cylinder had blown a seal. He was able to source one the same day and had it there within an hour! Had me back on the road and I was fishing in no time! I would highly recommend this place!

The service was fast and well done.I had a problem with the manager. The whole time I was there he was making racial commits. It made me very uncomfortable. In these time of racial tensions. I feel that anyone that has to deal with the public should keep their thought to themselves. He also had plenty to say about long haired people that do drugs. As we all know everyone that has long hair is a drug addict that cant be trusted. He also had to throw in the mix his affection for guns. He hit all the expectations of being a redneck.
My spouse took her car to Monroe for possible brakes and noise. They fixed the noise for free and they said the car did not need brakes! Honest mechanics are hard to find, trust Monroe!Rob
Showed up 8 mins late ran into some traffic guy behind the counter said figured you weren’t coming took a walk in and two other cars have a seat it’ll be 1.5 hours. Worst customer service ever over a 20 min oil change and then to act like your so busy with a entire staff walking around and two open bays. Pretty much the typical everyday with any Monroe. Here we have the cheapest oil change but you will be sacrificing everything else. Will not be returning.
You always get great service at the Monro Muffler in Avon, NY. Frank is very accommodating and friendly. I’ve been going there for years now and won’t ever look anywhere else.
The manager on duty, Mike gave great customer service. Was straight forward and honest. In a time where its harder and harder define good mechanics, I would definitely bring my car back to Monro

Terrible service. Incompetent. Dropped my car off Saturday night. I waited all day Sunday to hear when I could pick my car up. An hour before close I called and they hadnt done anything to it other than hook it up to the code reader. The guy on the phone had no idea what was going on. Even though he said hes the one that hooked it up to the reader. Didnt know that the coil pack is one unit on my vehicle rather than 4 separate units. I told them never mind and that I would just come pick it up. When i got there they had left their code reader on the roof of my car. And to top it off they couldnt find my keys. Would not recommend.
Head manager was more then excellent. Head mechanic was very knowledgeable. The people who work here helped me on a level like someone would at a small family run shop. Defiantly will be going back.
Have taken my personal vehicle there and our comps box truck to always be fit in and taken care of. Told any costs ahead of time so if I don’t want to do it they don’t. Mike has always been a pleasure to deal with
I had taken my truck into this shop and the manager kevin was waiting on me, he was nice. I needed the muffler fixed in the truck i have and they said they could do it. ok then i said do it. Dropped off my truck and it took about 1 week to get it back i understand that because there were no parts for that truck, But when i got the truck back it sounded as i didnt take it in at all, so i called and got adam the person that worked on my truck and i was told by him he had screwed up on the connection, ok fine then fix it, FYI..why would any one there do something to any ones truck or car and knowing that you are doing it wrong? that just shows me that they do not take any pried in there work..and there customers dont matter to them...So i called Kevin on 6/27/2016..and told him what i was going to do with the truck and bring it back, lets see how they handle this, keep you posted.

Had an appointment on Sunday. They were supposed to check a tire that had a leak. They checked it alright. Came back and told me that it was not repairable that I had a nail in the side. Tried to sell me a new tire. Went to u need a tire in the city and the fixed the tire. I will never take my vehicle there again for anything. The just didnt want to fix it. I wish I could have marked this with no star.
I’ve been taking my car here for two years now and these guys always take care of me and do an excellent job on my vehicle. If you want some loyal individuals working on your car who do a great job I’d suggest coming here over anyone else any day.
This is literally the worst customer service I have ever had in my life. They were beyond rude both of my visits and failed my car twice even when they said it was completely safe. Their advice was to “drive it 25 miles then come back” both times. I know nothing about cars but I do know when I’m being scammed AND treated poorly with terribly customer service. I wouldn’t even bring a tricycle here.
Got a oil change and tire rotation. 2 lug nuts fell off my tire a few days after. Is it that difficult to just tighten them🗑🚮
Poor Customer Service and Pricing is high just got to GV Ford or Bob Johnson it will cost you less and save you some money. The front desk associate was very rude and had a poor attitude to all 3 customers in the waiting area everyone was looking at each other laughing at his poor demeanor. I know i will never return and was going there for 3 years until this new guy with little man syndrome started at the desk idk why he was so rude other than the fact he was trying to grow a poor high schooler beard ! lol i will be going back to GV ford or Nicks in Caledonia.
Kurt and Tim are the best. My family has 4 cars so we always need something. They always work with our schedule even with little notice. They are fair and honest about our vehicles needs.

Took a vehicle here for an oil change and tire rotation. Man by the name of Frank was very testy. 2 hours later it’s done, get 5 miles down the road and have a bad wobble. We get out to inspect it and the drivers rear wheel lug nuts are a few threads from falling off. Terrible experience.
Should have known better than stopping in for a simple repair. Didnt want to fix problem,. Only Replace it to the tune of 780.00 love to sell you something you dont need. Thats OK , I still have my 780.00 Be thay dont,. Commission commission commission, thats all that that see $$$$$$

Thought I broke a brake pad when it turned out a rusted gas tank belt had started scraping the drive shaft. Showed me the issue and got me back on the road fast. Excellent service.

I go to Leroy Monro Muffler Avon wants to charge me $49 plus tax just to have my wheels balanced Leroy is charging me $19.99 for all four wheels to be balanced why would I spend 20 more dollars when I can drive 5 more minutes down the road and plus the one in Avon is a bunch of hacks anyways

2022-06-01Five stars normally, one star today.We have gone to Monro in Avon for over 20 years. We have always been happy. Except for today. My car needs a new exhaust. Took it in on Memorial Day. Obviously parts stores are closed but I did get a diagnosis. Tom, the manager, called me Tuesday to say if I could bring my car in they could get it done before closing. I couldnt bring it in, but he said to bring it in today. I took off work early so I could bring it in. Tom was off, but there was an assistant manager who was gruff and complained about his job and how s*** happens if he takes a day off. The parts had NOT been ordered. The price on the computer screen was 140 dollars more than the price I was quoted yesterday, The parts people said it would take a WEEK to get them in. I have a noisy car that I was told would be fixed today, but now I get to wait another week. I asked for a resolution, and was told that well, he could order the parts if I wanted. If I wanted. He did try to call Tom but no answer. But he didnt leave a message either. I left the shop very puzzled and discouraged.I called corporate and was equally as frustrated with their response. The woman I spoke to seemed distracted by all the noise of her loud coworkers in the background. She did contact the shop for me, and I was told that, well, the parts were ordered today and theyd take a week. I responded by telling her I wanted to know why I was told to bring my car in today, only to be told the parts arent there. No real answer. She said she would bring my case to the District Manager, Tim. But she could not tell me an approximate timeline when he would call, nor was she willing to give out his number. So calling Guest Services was just as useless as dealing with the Assistant Manager.Again, we have taken all our cars to Monro for repairs and they have ALWAYS treated us well. Not today. I just want my car fixed!!!!!

2022-03-05I’ve never written a bad review before, but I feel this is necessary. I will never go to a Monro Muffler ever again. I have had the worse experience and there customer service is horrible. I had brand new tires put on my car back in December 2020 at Monro Muffler. When I went to get my car inspected on 2/25/22 I was told my tires will never pass. I haven’t even had these tires a year and a half yet. I put roughly 18,000 miles on these tires, and they have a warranty for 40,000. When I researched the tires I found out they should never have been put on my car because there not compatible, and they admitted to this on the phone. They also said I okayed the wrong tires. Who would okay the wrong tires, and who would even sell someone tires that weren’t compatible? They also told me the manager who use to work there was fired for this exact reason. They wanted me to bring the tires back to them so they could inspect them(I also provided proof of tire rotations that were done during oil changes). They told me some of the tires were fine, and they didn’t all need to be replaced. However, the two tires were worn so I could keep 2 out of 4 of them. I have an AWD car and can’t have different tires on my car because it would put unwanted stress on the AWD drive train which can damage it and cost me more money. They also said they would have passed the tires (they never would have passed anywhere else). I didn’t have them inspect my car because the last time I was there (just a few months ago for a car headlight bulb) they told me I needed new brakes. When I went to get my brakes done at a local garage they told me my breaks were fine. I got a second opinion and was told again my breaks were fine. I do not trust this company, and the reason I’m writing this is to help others not get scammed by them. I feel as though I was taken advantage of because I’m a women, and don’t know much about cars. I gave them an opportunity to make this right, and they refused to help me. The only thing they care about is making sales even when it’s not morally correct. I’m hoping writing this review will help others not go through what I have gone through with this company.

2020-08-07Went in for a pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle and the store manager, Mike, was terrific. Very helpful, good advice, knowledgeable, steered me in the right direction.... I didnt wind up buying the car, so glad I took it in and Mike could accommodate me without an appointment. I noticed they have a sale on tires today!

2021-09-09Went on Labor day to get new tires and they were unable as the tires on my rim were the wrong size tire. They did not have any they could do that day and recommended i call a couple local places to get it done that day. The tech was honest and said he could put tires on but will not because it would not be safe which im glad he didnt. I ended up getting tires elsewhere however, their honesty and professionalism have earned my business in the future.

2021-04-03I experienced incredible service at this shop. I came in after blowing a tire on the highway and needed to get back home to Buffalo. In the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday these guys got me 4 new tires (all wheel drive vehicles 🙄) and on my way in way less time than expected. No appointment, no warning, I just showed up in a pinch and they really helped me out. Thank you!
