Ive lived in this town for the past 20 years and tried Every. Single. Shop around. How relieving it is to say, Ive finally found a place that has earned my complete trust. I know whenever i have an issue with my vehicle I can count on these guys to take care of it. From customer service to getting the job done these guys are top notch. Thank you to Armando, John and Roman, three very tactful gentleman.
Ive been going to this place for over a decade. The employees are courteous, and are experienced, as a few have been working here since before I started coming. Theyve done everything from inflate low tires, oil changes, inspections, new brakes, struts and tires, charged the Freon in the AC, and bunch of other stuff I cant even remember. Always fast and honest with me.
This shop had my car for 6 1/2 weeks, and only managed to replace one part in that time. The first mechanic there that worked on it stopped coming to work because of personal issues. The next mechanic to work on my car seemed mostly too busy to make the repair a priority, even after the car being there for 2-3 weeks at that point. Granted the issue was a complicated one, but there is no reason for it to have been there all that time. And even after all that time, the car was in worse working condition than when I originally brought it in. There were days where it was below freezing at night and not started at all for days, eventually killing the 1yr old battery. I had enough of their constant excuses and not making me or my car a priority for weeks on end. In addition, I was never called to be updated on my car, I always had to go into the shop to find out what they did or didnt do. Im never going to that shop or any other Monro for that matter, ever again. I felt unimportant to them, and thanks to them I lost wages from working because it was my only car, and had to constantly borrow my friends car. They simply did not care. Unless you happen to be going in for simple things like an oil change, new tires, or brake job, anything else is apparently too complicated for them to handle and an apparent waste of their time.
John has been a great help to me since I have been coming here. Always smiling, calm no matter the problem is and always manages to fit in a HELLO, no matter how busy he is. He is always willing to show me parts that are bad, so I understand where my money is going. He is always willing to explain things in full and offer advice.A real asset to this company. Armando and Ramon always take great care of me as well. I have come here in a complete panic, as my life as a single mom, running an animal rescue and working 55+ hours a week is crazy. I have been stranded and they offered a ride. They offered to buy me dinner and a large discount because I had sat here too long. These guys here make coming to this Store easy and painless. I was driving with my daughter up to the University of Buffalo. Her engine light came on a couple of times on our trip because of overheating. We stopped into Monroe Auto Service for help. The guys were fantastic! They did a thorough check to figure out what the problem was. Before we knew it we were back on the road with the car running smoothly. You guys were great. Thanks so much!
Excellent service. I will definitely return to this location, I went in for a simple oil change and got a tire rotation and my car looked over. They gave me a detailed report on my tires, brakes etc. The manager and the crew made me feel like I was a long-time customer. Will be recommending this location to all my friends.
I am so pleased with the service I received today. That isnt something that I think people usually say when they go to a mechanic. When I arrived you could tell there was a nice vibe in there as well. Armando and Josh are really nice and friendly, and Im really happy with their work.

Was coming home from work and my low tire light came so i stopped in and the young man Mike 10 min before closing took me right in and got me a new tire causing him to have to stay late...all while having a smile on his face. Stopped in for a simple inspection and they let me know that I had a recall on my car. Armando was very helpful and quick to get it all done. Now I can continue driving safely and having everything working perfectly together.
Great service, the crew at this location are great at what they do. Every time my car needs service they get it done for me. They explain all that needs to be done and show it to me ( not like the dealership where you cant even see your car). So my recommendation is if you live in town or passing through and your car needs service stop in and see Armando and the crew
Very surprised given the wealth of 5 star reviews, but I didnt have the best experience during my most recent visit. Dropped off my vehicle to have a NY state inspection done, expecting to get it back within an hour. The work wasnt done until 4 hours later. When I called at the 2 hour mark, the customer service was less than apologetic and I ended up having to call back, because I was hung up on. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, maybe this is the norm, but either way Ill be visiting another shop in the future.
I wish I could give 10 stars! I pulled off the highway in the middle of my 9 hour road trip to discover part of the under side of my car was hanging off. I proceeded to pull into the nearest car service place (which happened to be this Monro location), and received quick and great service from the store manager, Armando. To top it all off, I wasnt even charged for the quick fix. Talk about GREAT customer service. Armando, keep doing what you are doing. Somebody give this man a raise! Also, in a world full of underhanded mechanics & car repair shops - you can be fully assured this isnt one. Go here!!!

Last month I was in a pinch as it was a Sunday and I could not get to my regular trusted mechanic. I decided to try Monroe in Owego and was pleasantly surprised. The manager, John, treated me like I had been a client for years and wanted to keep my business. He didnt try to make a bigger buck on a new guy, rather he actually talked me out of something I thought I needed which saved me some money and built my trust in him and the business. I will return there.
All the guys at Monroe are great! John, Armando, Trevor, and Roman have all gone out of their way to help me in one way or another throughout the last few years. I dont have the best luck with cars but theyre always able to get to the bottom of the problem quickly and get the job done while keeping it in a reasonable price range for me. Definitely recommend Monro Muffler if you want personal service and to have people that will always get the job done quickly and correctly!
Armando and his staff take care of my cars every time I go into the shop. Prices are always fair and they do the job right the first time. I havent taken my cars anywhere and dont plan to!
The crew at Monro Owego are top notch and always do a great job servicing my vehicles. Today I had a noise from the front and they quickly diagnosed a pad/ rotor issue and even tough it was getting close to closing time they went the extra mile to get it done on time with quality parts. Kudos.

Service was really slow, The manager is absolutely clueless, he gets flustered really easy. Doesn’t seem to have any background of automotive, defiantly need to find someone else to run this store.

I go to this location in Owego every time my car needs service. Its a half hour from where I live but the service from Armando and the mechanics is second to none. I highly recommend them for all your automotive needs.

Google has my name wrong. It is Erin Detrick.I have never had such great service! I came in (walk in) for an oil change, and first of all they didnt turn me away. They saw me immediately. 2nd, I had been having trouble with my brakes squealing, but I didnt say anything to them. As the staff did their routine inspection while changing the oil they noticed my brakes were metal to metal. A very dangerous situation. My brakes were just done by my dealership!!! Monro not only replaced my brakes same day service, but allowed me to keep the parts so I could be reimbursed by the dealership. Thank you Armando (manager) and staff!

My car broke down during a visit from out of state. They got it fixed next day (Saturday), which saved my vacation. At this point theyre open Saturday and Sunday. The car was no crank no start. They diagnosed a defective starter solenoid together with grinding starter (many years old). Replaced solenoid/starter assembly and old battery lugs/cable. Total labor charge $165 plus cost of parts and tax. In my view this was a reasonable price for the work done. Didnt charge me for initial efforts at jump start and battery testing.
Today I dropped my Chevy Silverado off at Monroe in Owego, Ny., for a simple oil change & tire rotation. After making an appointment for this service, having my vehicle there at 9:30am my vehicle was ready at 4:30pm. Disappointed. I never received a phone call notifying me, Disappointed. When I was going over the bill, for$90.00!! it was pointed out to me by Armando, the mgr., that I reeeeally need to read the small print on the coupons that Monroe sends out, the coupon I had received was only good for$10.00 off. Disappointed. Appearently, they make up enough in billing & scamming Customers they can afford to no chargefor tire rotation. Disappointed. Armando seemed to think this was humorous. I failed to read the fine print.After being a loyal Monroe customer for over 15 yrs., No more. If this is the way you treat your customers and the way you train your managers, I want NO part of it. Obviously this store needs better mngt. and more customer svc training inorder to be successful. I will not be visiting Monroe again, they can keep all of their coupons and marketing gimmicks, will take my vehicles elsewhere. Disappointed. Will be going to Social Media to share this experience. Disappointed.
Monro Muffler Owego is my go to place for all car repairs and consultations. I have been a customer for almost nine years. I would prefer to travel there than to go anywhere else, and there are numerous reasons why. Crucially, the staff members are all respectful, professional, honest, and expert in their craft. I always feel taken seriously, listened to, and treated like a person. Armando, Roman, John, and Zack are all to be commended for their exceptional, dedicated, and always patient and kind service. I came in to have them check my car, it was overheating and leaking coolant. My husband told me it was the radiator, I told them. They went ahead and checked the cooling system and found out it was just a faulty radiator cap. I so appreciate them not taking advantage of me when they could have sold me a radiator. So much respect for these guys. Thank you Armando, John and Roman.

I switched to Monro about a year ago and never looked back. I always have a great experience and the prices are fantastic. The employees at the shop in Owego (the 1 I frequent) are always nice and always take the time to explain things to me!
I took my car to Monroe to have some tires put on. Unknowing to me the tires were the wrong size. Wouldnt you think the shop manager who put the tires on Armando would come out and tell me that the tires are the wrong size and that they might be dangerous? He did not I could hear some rubbing as soon as I went down the road I returned home only to find that the tires were rubbing the inside of the wheel well and shock...Again nothing was said by the shop manager Armando but he gladly took my money and sent me down the road un safely... I got the right set of tires I had to return to the shop because I figured it should have been under warranty. Only to find out Armando charged me twice...Stay away from Monro Muffler in Owego this is the third time that Ive had to deal with her Shady business practices. Once Armando tried to over sell me a muffler for $100 until I argued with him because I wanted to keep my old one..Bunch of crooks and the mananger is a thief..Lastly I also called the Monroe service complaint department and ask them to review the tapes from security Because Armando lied to them and said that he had warned me about the tires. False
This is the only place i bring my car. I won’t bring it anywhere else. Good prices are a plus, but it’s their excellent customer service that brings me back. They do anything and everything to make sure I have a good experience. They’ve yet to let me down, and this is the only place I recommend going to.
I took my car to get an alignment about a month ago. After the alignment, the gentleman told me that they had aligned the front, but did not align on the back because it was not adjustable, but it wasnt too bad and sent me on my way.Fast forward a month later, Im traveling with my pregnant wife and a tire blew. Turns out the wasnt too bad was indeed kind of bad, and the tires had been so badly worn that they continued to wear unevenly down to the steel belt.Im at the dealership now, and besides the fact that the back is indeed adjustable, the entire rear end is so far off alignment that the new tires I just bought would have quickly been worn as the past tires were.Thanks Monro. Never going back again.
Was visiting from out of town and needed a tire fixed, stopped in Monro and the guys there were awesome. They got my tire patched up and back on the road in the short amount of time. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

I went into Monro because my brakes were making noise where I was told they were dangerous to drive without repair, I thought maybe because I am a woman and know very little about cars I was being scammed which has happened in the past, but the Manager Armando took me out to show me exactly what they were talking about, and I could see I shouldnt be driving it, so needless to say they repaired my brakes and now I feel safe driving my children around once again thanks guys you are the best and have a customer for life

Just No. Big chain that cuts corners, preys on the ignorant. I would recommend you use youtube tutorials to do it yourself long before Id tell you to go here. I would recommend Ricks across the river or Moores tire by Lockheed.

2020-11-14Great staff....very helpfull. Brought my car in about 10 minutes to close because my tire light came on. I just wanted some air in it but they said it was very low and they thought it had a hole. Long story short they put in on the lift and fixed the tire for me. Thanks for all the help and thanks for staying late to make sure i didnt get stranded on the road. Will be returning and recommending you guys.

2020-09-01On June 29th we took our car to Monro in Owego to get 2 new rear tires and an alignment. They called in the afternoon and said they needed to replace tie rod end links in order to do the alignment so we agreed for them to do the work. On August 1st I was driving home from work going about 60 mph and noticed all of the sudden the steering got very loose and then heard a loud bang. I immediately lost complete control and could no longer steer. Luckily nobody else was near me because I would have crashed and could have been killed. This happened right near home so I was able to eventually get it in the driveway. Once I got it in the driveway we checked it out and the front left tire would not move when I turned the steering wheel, I checked under the car and seen the left tie rod just dangling because the end had come undone because it was not properly done when Monro replaced it just a month before. The neglect of the auto shop could have cost me my life. They have now fixed the tie rod ends and reimbursed us for the tow to the shop. They told me, when I had it taken back, that on the initial repair they didnt have parts for a chevy impala so they just decided to use parts for a chevy cruze which obviously didnt work out. We will never go to this shop again, very dangerous.

2018-03-26I have only had fantastic experiences with the Monroe in Owego. Im a relief veterinarian and travel about 2 hours a day for my work, which is all over upstate NY, and I need my car to work well- and I only bring my car to Armando and these guys. They are always friendly, always super helpful, and have never let me down with a car problem. On top of that, as a woman (who admittedly knows squat about cars), I have always been treated respectfully and they are always happy to thoroughly explain any issues the car has and to give me options before doing anything. They even shuttle me to and from work when I leave the car with them. My experience today was with a slow leak in my tire. I brought it in, they spent quite a bit of time localizing the issue, and then patched it up. When I went to get the car, they didnt even charge me, telling me that they just appreciate me being a loyal customer. FANTASTIC service, totally fair prices, super friendly group of guys. Highly recommended!
