Monro Auto Service And Tire Centers in other cities:
Finding an auto service shop that you can trust can be a very difficult task especially when you are a woman. Bob the manager was very welcoming, open and honest about what was going on with my car, how much things were going to cost and what I needed and didn’t need. When it was found out later that I needed additional break services than what he had originally quoted me on he added the break servicing free of charge. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone it was truly great and honest customer service which can be hard to find.
Bob is thee absolute best! He goes above and beyond to help his customers. He is very educated on the vehicles they service. I am a AAA customer and I refuse to go their facilities. I always go see Bob where I know the job will get done right. Bob is the most pleasant, humorous, down to earth guy I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Bob and his staff are efficient and work to best of their abilities to accommodate their customers.
I came in with my right rear rim in pieces and a flat tire because of a caliper issue. They got me in and looked at my vehicle very quickly so I could get to work. They were very friendly and professional and tried their best to help me keep it under my budget. I definitely recommend coming here. Besides doing great work, they make you feel like a friend of theirs. Their great guys!
Bob is awesome. Literally has a story for everything which made time fly while I was waiting. His tech caught an error with the way my directional tires were rotated...which made it seem like there was an alignment issue, which is why I was there to begin with. Anyway, great service, great people, reasonable price. Thanks fellas
Chuck and Bob (and the other guys at the shop) were great. They explained everything thoroughly and made sure to provide the details without pressuring me. Great customer service; my husband and I have been well taken care of by Chuck at another location for a long time, and we are more than happy to continue getting our car serviced here with him and this team.
This is my first time dealing with them and it was a very pleasant interaction I went in for a inspection today and I was early.. they took care of me right away and were very nice they did the job quickly and didnt try to Tell me something I didnt need.. I highly recommend and trust me Im picky..
Had an excellent first experience. My appointment was held at the correct time, expectations about removing my already expired inspection sticker before the inspection (per NYS Law) was given upfront and Bob was a pleasure to chat with. They were able to identify an issue with my car during inspection and correct it without incurring an unnecessary expense.*Disclaimer*I was offered a free handshake for an unbiased review.
The only Monroe Muffler I would ever recommend. I got a plat tire as I pulled into work, I immediately new as soon as I stepped out of the truck. Luckily I was able to get my truck to Monroe in time. After going back and forth about prices and warranty, I Finally decided to get a tire from Monroe rather than tow the truck to do it cheaper. Price was a little high IMO however, Time=Money. They had my truck ready by lunch time. Excellent communication and fast services.
Just went in for my state inspection. I remembered how quick and kind the staff was last year. This is the ONLY Monroe I will ever go to. I have been to other locations and the service was horrible or they would advise things were wrong with my car that were not. Bob is super sweet and the staff at this location are honest and efficient. Strongly recommend!
I find it hard to give them 1 star, but I am doing it after giving much thought. The guys that work at the shop are great. They are the best and very honest. But, their boss, Bob, has no sense of customer service. He is rude in person and on the phone. I just had a horrible experience, got out of the shop, went few yards away and had my vehicle oil changed. I am never returning back here.
Terrible, avoid at all costs. Bob the owner does not honor Monro discounts. Its advertised as $15.99 for a standard oil change but Bob told my dad who took an appointment this past Saturday that they dont carry conventional oil and only semi-synthetic which costs $40...What a joke, avoid this place. Bob told my dad that most cars no longer take conventional oil (are you kidding? dude considers himself a mechanic?).The whole management run by Bob is a joke. This manager needs to be replaced and more competent personnel need to be hired.
I recently brought my car into this Monro Muffler location for an inspection and new brakes. Bob helped me save over $150 on the brake job and my car was completed within a few short hours. A few days later I noticed a new noise my car was making and took my car back in. They spent 30 minutes finding the issue, fixing it, checking the other side to make sure it had been done correctly, and sent me on my way for no charge. Bob and his team are a great bunch of people and I highly recommend this place!
I am not one to give 5 stars lightly but Bob and his team were well deserving of the following review. I live in California most of the year, however frequently come to Buffalo for work and to visit family. My first aquaintance with Bob occured last week. I was looking to buy a reliable car here in Buffalo and after weeks of searching I came across a clean Ford Explorer, yet I wanted to have the vehicle inspected to see if there were any underlying issues. I looked up the nearest mechanic and Monro popped up. Upon arrival to the shop, Bob insisted that the seller wait inside while Bob and I reviewed the truck. After a thorough review, he asked me how much I was paying and gave his blessing on the purchase as everything came out clean. When it came time to pay, I noticed I had left my wallet in my rental truck back at the seller’s apartment. Bob trusted me to get my wallet and return for payment. A few days later, I needed to have my NYS inspection done and noticed a few things I wanted upgraded. I made an appointment for today at 10 and showed up to get everything done.I have been around mechanics my whole life, and it was completely transparent that Bob was not only honest, but charging fair prices and recommending only what realistically need to be done per my request.Bob and Ryan did a great job, were friendly and personable and most of all were affordable while providing me with a very high value of service.I am truly grateful I stumbled upon his shop and will definitely be using them for anything in the future.Mechanics are not always able to deliver good news.. thats how the business goes. But when it comes down to it, what matters is honesty and affordability, and this shop will definitely provide you with those. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Went here for an inspection and they noticed a nail in a tire that I had no idea was there and fixed it. Bobs team is super fast, efficient, friendly and most importantly honest. Its the people that make the difference at a car place, and right now they have excellent top notch people. Ill be back for any car needs-
Ive been here twice and both times was treated respectfully by both the owner Bob and the technicians. They always took the time to explain to me what my best option was and did not try to upsell me. During my wait Bob also made conversation and was very friendly. Great place to come, Ill definitly be back for the next service on my vehicle.
I never write reviews but I feel I must let others know about my experience here. To sum it all up: excellent service! My car was serviced as soon as I brought it in. The waiting area was very clean, I didt mind waiting there. The manager Bob is my new friend! He is very pleasent to everyone that walks through the door. He will keep you laughing. I will definitely return in the future.
Tried to set up an appointment at this location for an inspection. A simple request, something that takes a half hour on a 2018 Honda. The only thing I got was a lecture and hung up on. Im not a mean or unreasonable person, and maybe he had a bad day. Regardless, Im telling everyone I possibly can about this location and the manager (Bob) I spoke to. Dont be rude and lecture potential customers, they may just call your corporate offices and say you were drunk on the job.
I was heading to NYC this morning around 5am. A deer with a big rack hit my car and lucky only did minor damage. His horn punctured my front tire as well as cracked my front bumper. I researched the earliest shop to open so I could get back to my trip as fast as I could. I showed up to the shop roughly 20 minutes before it opened (~7:10am). I was desperate for help and Bob happened to have the doors unlocked early. I stressfully walked in and explained to him what happened. He zoned in on the issues that occured and happily attended to them very quickly. I received astounding service in such a short amount of time so I could be on my way. During the wait I was able to speak to Bob Price (Store Manager). He had an awesome sense of humor and made my experience an easy 6 Star rating. Unfortunately there is only 5 stars. I was having a rough start to my morning and by going to this shop in particular it easy flipped it around. Not only Bob, but the 2 gentlemen working on my car as well. I highly recommend this place, not only for the quick and convenient service early in the morning but the pleasure of receiving great customer service. I commend Bob in particular for making me laugh when I walked in extremely frustrated (which is very tough for the average person). I made it to my destination and this was the first thing I wanted to do. Thanks again.
Bob was able to squeeze me in to get an alignment after another location was unable to at the last minute. He took the time to explain other issues with my vehicle to me, and made sure that I left in a safe vehicle, while being polite, courteous, and going above and beyond in the customer service aspect. I will be back, thanks Monro!
Went to Monro today, I am a Homecare RN from Rochester, didn’t have much time and discovered that one of my tires was very low on air. I called the shop and spoke with Bob, store manager, he gave me the location and told me to come right over. I pulled in, his guy came right out, got me right in and took care of me within 10 minutes, they were awesome and took great care of me, I was on my way in minutes, so glad they were there and open, thanks guys, great job and customer service!!!
I wanted to share one of my worst experiences for an oil change. I stopped by the Amherst location around 7:45AM thinking I can just get in without an appointment, however, I was told that they had an 8AM appointment. I asked BOB the manager (not sure if he can call himself one) a simple question, was there only one person working? It seemed like I ticked him off. His response to me was, what kind of business do you think I’m running, do you think I can have my employees working 12 hour shifts? I just asked a simple question, I told him Ill come back at 9. Unfortunately I had to call 10 minutes prior to my appointment to re-schedule for later that day, he said to come in at 1:30. I get there asking him about the $19.95 oil change and the first thing he tells me is your truck needs 7 quarts, I said Ive changed my oil at other Monros and they never mentioned that. His response, who do you think is going to eat up the cost?!. I was like just go ahead and put 7 quarts. Ten minutes later he asked me if I wanted two new front tires because they were low, he had suggested he can put them in the back but he would rather put new ones. I said just put them in the back (he must have not liked my answer). He then tries to cash me out and asks what coupon will I be using, I said the one on your website, he says which one, I say the $19.95 oil change. Can you show me? I had to pull it up on my phone (like he never saw one of these before). I finally cash out, and he tells me you are no longer welcomed in this location! I asked him to repeat what he just said and he says you heard me, like I can fire employees, I can tell a customer to not come in my shop anymore. I asked Bob, what kind of circus are you running here?, and he just asks me to leave. I did let Bob know that I would be writing a review. So there you go, if you happen to visit a Monroe and Bob is working (Amherst on NF Blvd), I would recommend going elsewhere. BTW, thanks to Bob, I will no longer be taking my business to a Monro.
Ive been here a few times now and I wont be going anywhere else. They always get me in quickly and the staff is phenomenal. They saved my bacon when my drivers side door latch froze while I was driving to work and couldnt be closed. They got me in, got it fixed, and had me on my way in 20 minutes.
John went above and beyond to help me when I needed my brakes changed and an inspection. He sent an employee to NAPA to get parts for my car out of the area that he didn’t have access to nearby. There was a nail in my tire that I didn’t know about and John had an employee patch it up immediately. He also found me discounts to help with the cost. He is awesome, GREAT customer service! I will certainly be back. Thank You!
DO NOT GO HERE. Quoted me $1,000 and paid $90 somewhere else. My exhaust had a hole in it and was just hanging under my car instead of attached with a bracket. I had a mechanic look at it but they insisted on looking at it themselves. I was then quoted $1,000 for a new catalytic converter!! What a scam!!! I only went here because I just moved here after graduating. So instead I drove three hours home and went to my mechanic there and he fixed it in less then an hour for $90. If I was someone who didnt have friends who knew what they were doing these people would have scammed me out of so much money. I feel very badly for anyone who goes here and doesnt have the friends like I do or has a strong understanding of cars. I promise you can find a better mechanic somewhere else so please dont go here!
My husband and I enjoy coming here for service on our vehicles.... however on Wednesday’s or Sunday’s when manager Bob is not there. Everyone else is an absolute delight to deal with at this Niagara Falls Blvd location. As for Bob? He should not be in a position that deals in customer service.
Very poor service. The front desk agent was chatting on the phone for 20 mins and kept me waiting when my car was done already. I had to interrupt his chatting and said I was in a hurry to go. He said how long do you expect it takes to work on your car, huh? I was happy with the other clerk last time so I came back but this one was terrible. I will not go back to the place anymore. If you dont want to ruin your car or YOUR DAY, dont go there.
I have gone to Monroe for oil changes, inspections and simple things of that nature, as I don’t trust them for more involved work. I have sat in the waiting room and listened to Bob the store manager treat people on the phone completely rude and talk down to them for no reason at all, and act like we the customers are bothering him because we’re calling for work. Just a miserable human. Every time I was in there he was rude to people. He was finally rude to me because I didn’t understand what he was asking. He talked down to me in a condescending tone because I asked him to explain what he had asked. I have heard him say racist things after he hangs up with people on the phone, and has even had the nerve to tell me about a racist lawn ornament he has hidden is his garden. I should’ve stayed away after that.
Impeccable and honest service. I brought my vehicle in to get the brakes looked at and Bob and Dave were honest in saying my brakes were fine and did not charge me for checking them. It’s their honest and great service why my family and I will always bring our vehicles to this particular location.
I was driving home from work and noticed my car got REALLY loud out of NOWHERE! Of course I freaked out and called my dad who told me to try and stop in at Monro Muffler. I called quick and talked to Bob who told me to stop by. I pulled in and immediately was taken care of by Bob and Ryan! They explained the issue to me (and even to my dad because of course I had to tell him everything first), fixed my car and had me on my way in under 15 minutes! Incredibly happy with the service I received today!
I have been almost nervous about writing this review, because the amount of times I have been helped out by Monro in Amherst. TLDR; If you need car work, you can trust Bob and the team at Monro will give you a FAIR price with HONEST work. In 2019 thats what is most important to me.It will be best if I dont use names anymore, in fear of retaliation from corporate business practices from higher ups.I brought my car in once after hearing some scraping and seeing some bent metal below the vehicle. They got me right in, explained the situation fully, and we came to the conclusion to just remove the metal plate that had bent. I was not charged for this visit. This is just one of MANY of the times the team at Monro has helped me out, when most businesses would charge you or scam you out of more money. With these business practices that I refer to as Old School (you scratch my back ill scratch yours), I have never refused to bring ANY of my vehicles to Monro knowing Ill get honesty and integrity from their team when it comes to figuring out what is wrong with my vehicle, and taking care of it in a financially viable way.As long as Bob Price and his team are running things over at Monro in Amherst, you will always have a customer in me.
I moved to Amherst a couple years ago and went to this place because I did not know the area. I have had nothing but good service from this place. Bob has helped me out on numerous occasions and the staff there is always helpful and friendly. Called them this morning because I woke up with a flat tire and they were able to squeeze me in for a patch. Could not be more happy and recommend them to anyone in the area looking for friendly honest service. -Jim Sabo
Id like to think Im a great judge of character and the manager is always friendly and seems very trustworthy. I come here for all my repair needs and they always take care of me without all the extra nonsense. I havent once been sold on extras nor have they even tried to.
Brought truck in they did alignment and rotated my tires. Put my new tires on the front less then 10,000 miles on them. I now have half of a new tire and bald on the outside. Took to local shop they said there is no way an alignment was done the bolts had to be torched free to do the alignment. They fixed it and now I gotta take Monroe to court to get my money back they charged me for an alignment. They also owe me some new tires!!! Do not let them work on your vehicle.
When I called Monro, I was in need of service as soon as possible and they were able to get my car taken care of within a half hour of when I called. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, even funny! I had a very good experience and will definitely go to Monro again! Thank you!
I took my car repair shop, with a exhaust problem and was told I would have to wait for parts.I then brought it to Monroe muffler and brake at 2865 Niagara Falls Blvd. Amherst NY 14228 , they repaired the exhaust problem quickly and efficiently they were courteous and professional.
I was treated terribly by a D-Bag manager named Bob. He told me my Jeep Cherokee only takes full synthetic oil, and that he would not put anything else in it. I went to my vehicle and read the manual. Seeing nothing stating this, I returned with the manual to show him and discuss it with him. He immediately raised his voice and said he didnt care what my book said, and that he was not going to change the oil with anything but full synthetic. I told him to calm down and talk to me without yelling at me. He said he wasnt yelling, again raising his voice. He called me a punk motherf*cker and told me to go get my oil changed elsewhere. This was the Niagara Falls Boulevard location. I left and went to the North Tonawanda location, and had my oil changed with SEMI synthetic, and was told that oil was fine for my vehicle when I asked. The person here was polite and professional, unlike D-Bag Bob at the Niagara Falls Boulevard location, who ought to be fired.
Mr. Price was professional and a total pleasure to do buisness with, he walked me through the entire process which I dont need to say is an great thing to have the work being done fully explained. I would recommend this particular Monroe over other locations because it feels like family, thank you Bob for everything!!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Please go elsewhere! So my belt used to squeek and finally ripped off. (My own fault for waiting so long) So I took my vehicle here to get fixed. They said the alternator was going bad and needed replaced immediately. I said no, that cant be the the issue cause I had suspicion of their money-making deeds from past experiences. So I drove my vehicle, with no belt, up the street (vehicle died along the way). But another mechanic popped the hood and said, dude, youre missing your belt, your alternator is fine! That was the last straw. Im not car-savvy, which is my problem, of course. But Im done with this establishment, and the stupid/inexperienced mechanics working on my vehicle.
Needing a state inspection before the month was up and heading out of town, I scheduled an appointment two days ahead at 1:00. I showed up a few minutes to 1 and the man sitting at the check in desk asked me for my name. He informed me, with a rather rude tone, that I indeed did NOT have an appointment scheduled with them. Quick to shift the blame, he called the other location. I did not have an appointment scheduled with them either. I thought about showing him my call log from two days prior with their phone number...or telling him that when i called they told me they are located next to Zebbs, but instead had to listen to him tell me repeatedly Well I have no idea who you called but it wasnt us! So he absolutely blamed me while using an accusatory tone. This all had to be my fault. I should have shown him my call log. I would rather not waste my time since he told me then sarcastically that i could wait 4 to 5 hours for it and that was my only option. No apology whatsoever on his end. I walked out knowing I am now severely crunched with time to get it inspected before the end of December. Lets just say I will NEVER go back there and will be sure to inform my family and friends as well. Not to mention...kind of uncanny to find multiple exact situations as my unpleasant one in this log of negative reviews!
We signed up online for an appointment for a four wheel alignment 3 days prior to the date we wanted. We showed up today at the correct time and the manager, tall middle aged guy with glasses, said there was nothing scheduled for us. He asked when we signed up, expecting us to say today, at which point he could say that is why he never got the appointment. We insisted we signed up several days ago, he then said we probably have the wrong location. We even told him we had an email confirmation for the appointment at this location and he didnt even want to look at it. He pretended to check the computer for like a second. He never apologized for anything, all he said was he can take us on sunday, 2 days later. We shook our heads walking out the door. Never waste your time at this place, we are never coming back.
There is a reason this place has so many bad reviews.... I made an appointment for a car inspection 3 weeks ago and they decided to tell me when I showed up for my appointment at 4:35 when I was scheduled for 5 that the inspector could not come in today. Maybe they could have called me? They called down the street and they could not take me either. Do not list a service that you can not provide even with an appointment. Thank god for the location in east aurora who took me Last minute on my way home.
I was getting a sound from my front tire on my 2011 Nissan that was still under powertrain warranty. I called Monroe and asked if they could diagnosis the problem and what would happen if the issue was under warranty. Monroe said that they would call the dealer to make sure the issue was under warranty before performing the repair. So they say I need a new wheel bearing and would cost $500. I asked if that was covered under warranty. They said no because its not part of the powertrain. So I called local Nissan dealer and they said wheel bearing would be covered under warranty. So I called Monroe and they said Oh...most manufacturers stopped including wheel bearings in their powertrain warranties in 2007. They then said that they could repack the wheel bearing and perform alignment for $100 because even if its covered under warranty the dealer wont include a wheel alignment. I Called Nissan and they said an alignment is not necessary for the replacement of a wheel bearing. So I ended up taking the truck to the dealer and they said the problem was not the wheel bearing but rather the rotor plate was just rubbing. They made quick adjustment and issue resolved free of charge. I had a second experience at Monroe where Bob the manager was working and a Canadian couple came in to have some repairs done and where trying to pay with Canadian currency. Bob was pretty rude to them and said he doesnt accept Canadian currency. As soon as the couple left Bob expressed his thoughts about Canadians in a very vulgar manor and said what do these f&#**#& Canadians think I am? I dont want their currency. He went on to say how he is fed up with the Canadians coming in while their wives are shopping and they just browse and ask a lot of questions and never buy anything. Every other word out of his mouth is a curse.
STAY AWAY, DONT GO HERE. I am a mechanic from Ontario Canada. Automechanic colleges in Canada are Government inspected. Not in the U.S. in Canada the mechanics are tested every 5 years and licensed by the Government. Not in the U.S. The owner of this location had to look at a video on a computer to learn how to fix my vehicle. Most Monro customers come here ONLY for a oil change. Please go to Ontario Canada for vehicle repairs. Its the safety of your family riding in your vehicle.
One of the worst monro location in the WNY area. Bob is by far the most arugant rude person I have ever met. He tries to add more serivces that you defintiely dont need. The cost was estimated to be around $275, then I went to another guy on NF blvd too who fixed it on the spot with only $25 cost (versus $275 estimated by Bob). I forgot to mention that Bob does not take an online appointment. SIMPLE ADVISE...STAY AWAY...

2022-06-17My wife and I took our family car to Monro at 2865 Niagara Falls Blvd. just over 1 year ago. We had the brakes replaced there. It was for new brakes and rotors. The price was a quite high however I wanted a quality job so I agreed. The price.. $856.98. Weve been a monro customer for the last couple of years for inspections and oil changes, again a little high in price but I wanted to think I was getting quality workJust over 1 year and the brakes started to pulsate. We went back to the Shop. We were told that the rotors were damaged and needed replacement. I am not sure of the exact quote but It was over $500.00 to replace the rotors. Chuck would not budge on the price. The vehicle is driven almost exclusively by my wife and the driving habits have been consistent. The original brakes lasted 33502 miles and the brakes after Monro installed them lasted only about 5000 miles. This is just 20 days after the warranty.Either the job was done incorrectly or they are using sub standard parts.Does he really think I would spend another $500.00 for another inferior job?Maybe these brake jobs are designed to fail just after the warranty period? The old adage.. fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, well you know the rest.

2022-07-01Charles is very kind and personable. Was able to squeeze my fiance in for a NYS Inspection. Talked my fiance through honest pricing of tires. We both appreciate it!

2021-08-03Had my inspection done here and they pointed out my from brakes were about to go. I couldnt afford it that day, and they offered me a discount to get them done after payday. When they did work on my brakes they noticed some of the caliper parts got destroyed because the people who did them last time didnt pay attention. The manager (whos name I forget) and the tech both stayed late to get the parts and get my truck done that night. I told them to go home, that I didnt need it done that night but they insisted.10/10 would come again.

2020-10-06A huge THANK YOU to Bob and Ryan. We were leaving Buffalo the morning after my husbands surgery and realized the full size spare underneath the Jeep was loose and wobbling. With a 2 hour drive ahead of us and no tools to fix it we stopped in. They were more than willing to not only help us fix it but show me how to tighten the spare if it happened again. They were both very friendly. We passed plenty of shops but decided on theirs and I am glad we did. Thank you guys for the great customer service and ability to help on short notice.

2018-02-20Had the best experience worth writing a review. This particular location is a no nonsense location. You walk in and are welcomed by the manager. He tells you before they take your car what you need, what you will pay and how long you will wait.I was impressed by that. Competitors advertise 9.99 oil change sometimes and then you leave paying $30 without being told anything. While I was waiting, there was definitely a small business, family atmosphere. Everyone being greeted the same and treated with a personal touch as they left.Bob Price was the manager in charge and from what I saw runs an honest business. As a previous business owner I cannot say how great it is to see customers treated this way.

2021-08-06Super friendly! I was having my oil changed and my State Inspection updated, and they handled it quick and affordably! Definitely bringing my car here again.
