Montefiore Hospital in other cities:
If you cherish your life, your family, and you have Covid, Please dont go here. The 5th Floor of 111 E 210 St, Bronx is absolutely horrible. The staff does not care and there is a lack of training/soft skills. My grandmother was in the hospital and the energy received was that they just wanted to fill another bed. Dr. Aneta Ostrowska was horrible and there was also a critical care doctor that was terrible. No empathy, no people skills. Cassandra Berrios was the only one on that floor that was professional, understanding, and had soft skills. Shes great. The 7th floor was much more welcoming with better staff. Celest was also awesome. Im however disappointed in the hospital and they use Covid as an excuse, in my grandmothers last moments we were not allowed to see her.If you are gravely sick or expect quality care please dont go here. There needs to be a thural investigation, they use covid as an excuse for everything.
This is by far the worse hospital that I ever had a loved one in, if I I could give no starsI would. The staff is very un caring nor do they help when you ask for it . When you ask them whats going on with your loved one, no one ever knows whats going on . I wish someone would investigate this matter and the way the employees treat people. Your suppose to be a hospital who care for peoples loved ones yet you dont , why are you even in this business ? I just wish I could have had my loved one moved out this hospital! I will never have another love one admitted in this hospital and if they accidentally get admitted here I will do everything in my power to have them transferred to another hospital . This hospital should be shut down , please do not have your loved ones go to this hospital because they dont care!
This was by far the worst hospital experience I have ever had and I have had quite a few surgeries. In March 2019 I had a total knee replacement. The hospital care was horrible. My husband was there and witnessed the slow response to call bells and apparent lack of compassion by the nurses. After ringing my call bell forever my first post op day, it took forever to get someone to respond. After the nurse came in it then took 45 minutes for her to come back. I was in tears in pain and my husband had to go to the nurses station and beg for pain medication for me. This scenario happened almost every time I needed pain medication, leaving me in tears. I had nerve like pain down the left side of my leg after the surgery but couldn’t get an answer. My IV was never taped correctly on my wrist and loops of tubing flopped all over as I was trying to learn to use the walker. And the IV catheter was placed on my wrist which wasn’t good when trying to use a walker. No one secured the IV with more tape and it even infiltrated at one point.Overall a horrible experience and I will not recommend it and will NEVER go back there. Lack of compassion by the nurses and my surgeon never visited until the day I was being discharged on day 4.I actually have some PTSD from this experience.
This hospital is terrible if I could not give no stars I would the nurse staff are terrible no attention not professional they don’t take care of the patients so if you have a love one there don’t leave him alone because he won’t survive I personally am so upset of this hospital. 👎
I went to the monoclonal infusion center at montefiore. I was given the finest care by the most dedicated, friendly and friendly staff. they gave one on one care.i feel great with treatment .I received a follow up call two days later.it was immaculate and superbly staffed.
If I could I would not give this hospital any stars. I had heard remarkable things about this hospital unfortunately I would love to give a good review but the quality of care that my family and I have seen for our loved one has been HORRIBLE. I am not sure if the staff is stressed out but they are beyond rude, no empathy or sympathy, Annabelle specifically was extremely unprofessional. Patients are HUMANS not numbers or pieces of trash. You are supposed to be ensuring quality care. Lack of communication is a problem!! This hospital needs a major overhaul!! Please I beg you.. do not send your love ones here and if they are..transfer them somewhere else.
Montefiore Hospital is severely understaffed, every doctor that I came in to contact with regarding my mothers care told me “it’s my first day or it’s my second day” no one knows anything no one was helpful from the staff at the front desk who made and changed rules day to day depending on who is working. No one did their job effectively it’s seems the staff is extremely incompetent. I do not recommend this facility to anyone who cares about their loved ones the care and service my mom received was complete trash if I could give Montefiore zero stars I would
I have been a Montefiore patient for years but I have never encountered anything like I encountered on June 7th 2021. I went into their ER at about 12pm. Quickly informed the triage nurse that I was positive for COVID 19 and that I was also pregnant and spotting with severe abdominal pains. The triage nurses were efficient and very helpful. That all changed once I was put in the ER. I was put in a room secluded from everyone else which I kind of expected. What I did not expect was for the staff to completely forget I was there. After 2 hours and not even so much as a pain killer, I stepped outside to ask if I was going to see a nurse soon. A lady at the desk quickly shooed me away and quickly told me I had to stay in the room. I asked when would I be seeing a nurse and she said she would send someone in soon. Another hour passed before that nurse came in to take bloodwork and offer me Tylenol. They ordered an ultrasound which I didn’t have until 4:57pm and by then, there was no heartbeat. By the time someone came to actually do a pelvic exam and explain the ultrasound, it was almost 8pm. I sat in that ER for hours having a miscarriage and nothing. They treated me like I was a pariah. They’re supposed to be professional and aside from the doctor who saw me and the triage nurses, they were extremely unprofessional and very un empathetic. Don’t even bother going this ER. I will definitely be contacting a lawyer.
Horrible hospital. Probably the worst i have ever experienced. Everyone is miserable no one wants to work or do anything. All the nurses argue with eachother and with patients. They sit on there cell phones all day and just dont want to be bothered. They get annoyed if you ask for anything or help. Worst hospital in the USA? Probably. This place is more like a prison then a hospital . Absolutely disgusting- they dont clean anywhere and the whole place is absolutely filthy. Horrible customer experience from start to finish. If you can go somewhere else please do. This place is the absolute worst.
This hospital is responsible for my fathers second stroke that paralyzed him and ultimately killed him. After having major brain surgery, the physical therapist thought it would be brilliant to give my father physical therapy not even 24 hours after his operation. He was FINE initially after the surgery, but that “physical therapy” administered immediately after caused a serious second stroke that completely paralyzed his entire right side. The hospital knew they messed up and immediately threw him out. We were given ZERO explanation for what happened and the hospital wanted nothing to do with him any longer. Thank you Montefiore for paralyzing and killing my father. Send your relative here if you want them to die.
This is the worst hospital I have ever been in no lie. No respect for your privacy or Hippa laws. They discuss your business in a crowded waiting room while other people listen on. The doctor asked me to sit in a gown in a crowded dirty waiting room. I never saw anything like this absolute chaos. Apparently, they cant treat my pain with the medication im previously use to. I came 4 hours ago and they didnt even ask me about if I needed any pain medication. Until I went off. Each time they see you in a room you have to come out. And theyll still say they have no rooms available to talk about your personal info.
Covid-19 regulations are NOT being fallowed by staff; yet patients and their advocates are denied proper and professional care by hospital staff. Im a health care worker, and Ive never experienced such low quality health care. I bring my mother in , who had a pulmonary embolism, a deadly condition in which timely medical intervention can be the difference between life and death. She was admitted in this hospital and treated for 4 days. After being home for a few days she became systematic and swe rushed her to the hospital as it was advised by her doctors/cardilogist. Once at the ER she is promptly brought inside and both her husband and I are asked to go outside because “no one is allowed in the waiting rooms due to Covid-19”, meanwhile the staff displays disdain, insensitive and unprofessional behavior. Several employees are not wearing their masks properly or not wearing them at all. They are instead joking around, playing on their phones and chatting away. We were given a number to call and ask for information about my mother, I called several times and never got zero information, instead I was transferred to several people to whom I had to explain the whole story again and all they could say was “im just a receptionist I cant get in contact with her nurse not doctor . Im sure the doctors, nurses and staff here wouldnt want their family members to be treated here. They should b ashamed because Covid-21 is not an excuse for unprofessional behaviour. A lot of hospitals are managing very well under the circumstances. DO NOT bring your love one here, their chances of surviving are very low. I will be taking my mom somewhere else ASAP
Be careful just found out Ms. Weiss has been issuing pelham pharmacy sugar diabetes test strips etc prescriptions for me since 2020 and I dont even have sugar diabetes. Pharmacy as well as physician were contacted Numerous times and they refused to fix the issue. Well I had an appointment last week with Weiss and she let me sit there for 3 hours and did not call me, I got up used the bathroom came back in less than 5 mins to find out she marked me in the computer as a no show and they told me to reschedule. Ive been a patient at Montefiore for over 40 yrs and have went through many ups and downs with them but This is the icing on the cake. I WILL NEVER ATTEND AGAIN. Guess she got a call or two from the multiple people who the issue was reported to like Health First and the director of all Montefiore locations.
WORST ER HANDS DOWN! WENT IN WITH A SWOLLEN TOP LIP FROM A BUG BITE. 18+ hours and they still dont know what they want to do with my face. Whether they want to drain it or whether or not its an infection. They gave me no food not even water after i asked for it multiple times. I asked for something for the pain over and over and after I said I was leaving the doctor tells me all I had to do was ask, and brought the discharge papers instead of something for the pain. WOULD RATHER BLEED OUT ATTEMPTING TO WALK TO A HOSPITAL IN JERSEY THAN TO GO BACK HERE.
Wanted to give it no star, but Google makes that difficult. Dirty, messy place. Covid still exist, yet after someone gets up from the chair I had to tell them to wipe down the chairs before I sat. Ive been sitting there for almost an hour, waiting for a nurse who said she was gone to get me some medicine for the allergic reaction. Nurse is still left to show up.I spent close to 2 hours there for nothing. Most of the staff gathered gossiping. I complained to the receptionist and told her I was leaving, and my reason for wanting to leave..the way she responded she didnt care. Thank God I dont have to use them again, I used them because I wasnt familiar with the City. Waste of time!
One of the the best hospital I ever been in and I been a lot of hospitals. More than 10. I am really accident and infection prone and have to have X-rays and IV antibiotics all the time. I had neuro surgery and craniotomy(scull replacement) the doctors were great. The only reason I did not give the 5 stars is because I really picky about my food. The food was not bad but not good and there social services is bad. The Doctors, Resident Physicians and nurses more than make up for that. The neurologists are more than good for clinical visits. That is the reason I picked them to have surgery there. I would definitely recommend them and go there again.
I received excellent care in November 2019, in cardiac critical care for heart failure, viral myocarditis. The cardiac lab saved my life and although I was scared and overwhelmed the Doctors and nurses were fantastic and still email and text me to check on me. Dr Sasha Vukelic, my cardiologist and his team were amazing and I was given world class care and am so grateful to them. Their care and bedside manner was exceptional .
As a visitor the staff is horrible. They misinform you and then are sarcastic and condensing with their replies of I’m so sorry. I was told I would be able to visit my relative after having heart surgery and I traveled more than an hour to get there only to be told I could not visit. Being that I understand covid 19 protocols i specifically asked if I could visit and the doctor ensured I would be able to. I requested to speak to a charge nurse and they continued to deny me in speaking with him or her. I told my relative not to go to this hospital but I got exactly what I expected. Never again will I visit, be patient, or have anything positive to say about miserable montefiore!!
Terrible experience. I was experiencing symptoms completely unrelated to Covid. I did mention having a slight non-dry cough. I was assigned to some Covid waiting room that isn’t even sanitized routinely. Better yet, at all. Next, I wait 2 hours for an X-Ray that took 90 seconds. And, I wait over an hour just to get a results from the X-Ray. My assigned doctor would walk by me without any updates or ETA’s until he just vanished. The final straw is that I don’t believe that they took my concerns about my health seriously.
Staff is phony polite, & uncaring. After not allowing me to stay with my wife because of COVID-19 concerns, neither the surgeon or anyone bother to call me to tell me how the surgery went. After being told I could come back at 2pm, 1.5 hours later I was still waiting in the lobby. Add to that we traveled 2 hours to get there so I was basically left to sit in my vehicle 8 hours. Very poor communication and very poor hospitality.
Honestly I don’t get it!!! More than 6 hours on the ER just so that they can prescribe you with Tylenol for a sprained ankle. So ridiculous. So sad I decided to come here I should’ve just gone to the city they could’ve just taken better care of me providing me with more information.
Emergency room dirty assistant bad .and I have a history ot a mini stroke.doctor no professional. I sign myself out .I pray to God that I dont have to go there my hospital is mount sanai hospital they very professional and they was kind ..took blood fast a test .Don quickly they have my records of my mini stroke.montifiore needs doctors and some staff more caring and Educated.
The Doctors were Great. But the Nurses in the cardiac unit were Horrible. They are abusive to the patients when you leave your loves ones there. I would not leave anyone there alone. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Extremely lazy people that get madWhen you ask for water. They forget to give important medication to the patient. I beg you to please go to another hospital. My family experience was a nightmare. Please take this review serious. If you love your family Dont go to this Hospital!!
This hospital has lost its credibility with me its a total farce in their depiction of this hospital. My mother came to them from the nursing home and I wasnt informed by anyone not even the PA or physician Dr.Asfaw, It was 8 whole days before I knew she was there. The dr. blamed the nursing home the nursing home blamed the hospital. Still it remains until I came looking for her is when I found out. She was at the hospital. This place is a mess!!
I hope that my mother never has the misfortune of being trapped in this dungeon of a hospital ever again. She was to arrive for a procedure at 8:00 A.M and arrived promptly at 7:45 A.M. for whatever reason, she wasnt taken in until 11:30 and was in the recovery room until late afternoon. Visiting hours are until 2-6 apparently. I called to confirm and the man on the phone stated that it was 2-8. My mother even said since they took their sweet time doing the procedure, visitors would be allowed. Once I heard news she was in her room, I arrived at 6:00 P.M. to be told visiting hours were over. Luckily, I was let in to visit for a bitMy mother is a fall-risk and it was written on the nurses board as special instructions. My mother for some reason was wary about calling for help and attempted to use the bathroom on her own. An alarm went off and the nurses said she must press the button to call for help. When my mother pressed the button next time to help, not only did they take long to come, they told her to use her walker. This is why she did not want to call for help because she would receive incompetent responses or delay. Lastly they take her down to get xrays; she was the first one there and the last one seen. Why? Ill gladly stop my work and take care of her if your staff is too incompetent to do so.P.S. They also gave her burnt broccoli to eat, like a dog. These people are lucky this did not go on in my presence. If I hear of one more mistreatment towards my mother, I am personally up there.

We thank all of you 😂and I💕 you all in Jesus amen..
There are many things I would like to mention that will explain why i am giving only one star to this hospital.I came to this hospital with my sister, only because one of the doctors was suppose to be the best in what she needed to had done. If it wasnt for that we would leave after 5 minutes in there. Everyone had attitude, no smile, no hello, people that work there are yelling and laughing about personal stuff... EVERYTHING is dirty no soap in bathrooms ...Nurse had an attitude after asking for some soap to wash hands after giving urine sample... She ended up being very sweet , but only after she saw my sisters medical history and everything she went through. The one start is only because the doctor was amazing and everything went great with her surgery. BUT, in recovery room, there were people after surgery, no curtains pulled around them, stuff talking about patients in the hall, no privacy...After they said my sister can leave, I requested a wheel chair to which one of the stuff made a comment if she needs a wheel chair just to go downstairs .. to which I loudly and angry said YES just to go downstairs ... (my sister has serious cancer, its difficult for her to walk at times and especially after surgery) .. This rude stuff told me they will bring her downstairs while I go grab the car .. When I arrived, I found her sleeping in the chair alone, in the middle of the lobby, with her purse wide open and her phone in her hand. Thats how they just left her there....NEVER AGAIN...One start is only for the doctors work and some nice nurses..STAY AWAY FROM THIS FILTHY PLACE
My husband called for an appointment because he has an extreme pain in his left arm. He was not provided any information that he had to come alone. We arrived at the facility and after talking to two security agents, in the forth floor a lady took our temperature, which was fine, but told me I couldn’t come in. The place was almost empty and there was no waiting areas. Excuse me? please provide proper information to patients so that they come alone if they can!!
I came from Sc to visit my family in this hospital. He was on the first floor. The nurse manager was very rude. Once we walked in she immediately made a comment about us coming in. We kindly let her know that we had already spoke with the administrator at the front desk. She then went to my uncle room to check on him. The hospital was very dirty. The sharps container was exposed in the room. I personally feel that, if you don’t check on ur family while their there that they will not take good care of your family member. If you want good patient care and a kind environment this is not the hospital that you want to come too.
Stay far away from this place. I went for a medical checkup on a bad arm, never got to see a physician. Waited in a non crowded area for hours and ended up leaving. They billed me $1,500 for literally waiting for hours with no help. Im not paying the bill and this hospital can S*D
This review is regarding two of my moms surgery with the cardiology department. Doctor Liptiz saved my moms life after having two aneurysmsurgery. An aortic aneurysm and also adonminal. Thankfully, Montefiore and their doctors saved my moms life and shes continuing seeing her surgeon to this day. There might be some people who are professional but I think overall the hospital does have good doctors and staff. I think they can do better in finding better staff and for the most part I believe theyre doing that.
Used to think this was the greatest medical center. They had world expert physicians. Wonderful specialists. Great nurses and office staff. Website is very out of date..Terrific smooth ease at all aspects. Not any more...try customer service...if you can get to them! Try setting up an appointment without a half day lost on telephone calls. Try getting the department telephone number to set up basic lab test appointments. I now must rely on post mail to send letters to specific physicans..expalin and request appointments....as you cannot get thorugh on the telephones to se up appointments etc. I am so frustrated and fed up...no wonder the excellent physicans are moving elsewhere. I am ready to follow. Certainly Covid-19 has been an issue..but service system has become so poor. My Chart is OK..but not great. I have at least six appointments per month... and easy items like calling for what use to be a walk in lab test...is now days of incorrect numbers. Misleading numbers. Numbers that no longer are active. And no decent directory or assistance. At this point...Id say go elsewhere.
I had a total knee replacement done at Montefiore and it was a wonderful experience. The surgery went well and the doctors and the nurses were amazing. Dr. Cabelli did the surgery and he was there for me throughout the entire process. The room was very clean and even the food was good. The support of the staff and nurses were very comforting to me and made the entire experience very comfortable. I highly recommend Montefiore Medical center.
I have been applying to jobs here for over two years and yes I do know people who work here. After applying and speaking to people who work for the facility I have learned that 99.999% of the time they only hire friends and family members of the staff. Now they will reach out and lie and say they are an equal opportunity employer which is false. Also after even going as far as meeting these new workers while I met up with friends who worked there , I learned the people they hired were less qualified than I am. I will find a was to legally prove that they do this illegal practice of hiring . Everyone deserves an opportunity to work where they want and shouldn’t be held back because of poor choices in hiring.
Well staying in the hospital is better than ER here but then again I could be stabbed in the eye repeatedly and that would be better as well. The night nurses were the best here in my three day stay. One day nurse came in and I said my pa n was a 15 and she decided to have a conversation on my discharge. I then told her I am sorry but I can’t hear you please get pa n meds and hen we can talk. She walked away with attitude and took 15 minutes to come back. They then wanted to discharge me without a doctor coming in to talk to me about how to take care of my wounds from surgery I just had yesterday. I felt that was strange and said I am not leaving till a doctor addresses my questions, gives me instructions and takes one last look at surgery to make sure all is good. Very inattentive staff and not felt welcomed. Like I said the night nurses were there and check on you and made sure you were good. Only pleasant time in my stay.
If I was able to not give any stars I would!! My boyfriend went to the emergency room due to illness. The RNs on the floor were very rude and inconsiderate to the patients. I wanted to know what was the procedure for getting medical records and the RN was cutting me off, i couldnt finish my sentence. She automatically assumed I was rushing her so she got very nasty quickly. Her RN friends also were nasty. The RN really had the audacity to tell me to wait because shes having a meeting with the supervisor. How can an RN tell a patient to wait because she was in a meeting? Very ridiculous!! I work at a hospital and the customer service in this hospital is beyond the worst. I was planning on transferring to this hospital but after the night I spent on 05/08-05/09/2017 i wouldnt even try to.The Supervisor Kathy Harris or Hath no sure what was her last as she continuously kept covering her work ID doesnt have much control of her staff. I am very disappointed on her behavior as a supervisor she also put words in my mouth. And ignore everything I had to say. Not once did she even apologized for her unprofessional staff and not once did she even acknowledge the real problem. Left this hospital with such a bad taste in my mouth.I would like to speak to the director or coordinator. Please do not ignore this reviews or the others.Thanks.
This Is the worst hospital in nyc. My brother was transfer last Thursday nite from Montifore in Nyack. I visited him on Friday the 18th and found my brother in a dark room and it was only 7:30pm. I found the room dirty with syringes and trash and his medication that was given on the shift before along the window seal and on floor. When I complain they was so rude to tell me it’s not their job to clean up behind the last shift. I then ask to speak to his doctor to give me a update on his care. I was then told that doctors only work from 9-5pm and it was 7:30pm. They said I can talk to his PA that covers the floor when she’s not there. After making some noise and demanding to speak to any dr. That’s on call. Cause I know a PA can not be the only one on duty without an attendant dr. In hospital. I then ask to the administrator on duty, I was told they will contact. I then notice 2 other families was waiting longer to speak to an administrator too. They had 2 patients in the hallway in a bed servicing them there, without privacy or nothing. I waited 2 hours before she showed up. But I know that a administrator is usually not a nurse but a nurse came. I explained what was going on. She did nothing to fix situation. I will be requesting a transfer out of this hospital. I don’t recommend this hospital.
They have one of the best sickle cell programs around. I was only here once while I was visiting but the second I said sickle cell crisis they took me right back and got me started with fluids and pain medication. I was admitted fairly quickly and even got a private room which is almost nonexistent in NYC hospitals. Every doctor I had was extremely nice and understanding of what I was going through.
I am visiting a family friend in the psychiatric unit. Ive been here a few times and can see that the unit is well organized, clean. My friend is at fall risk and is always with someone now. She did fall and so far no injuries. The nurse have been keeping us in the loop and while theres room for improvement, we have to stay on top of all aspects of treatment.
This review is solely based on their Emergency Room, I’m certain everyone in here has received adequate education to perform their roles to the best of their abilities but when it comes to anything else the people working here are just terrible human beings. I was outside of a cat scan room for 10 minutes while three employees inside just chatted about their day, after 10 minutes I asked if there was a line I wasn’t seeing and my comment made them disperse and actually do their job. I wonder how much longer I would’ve of been waiting had it not been for me being outspoken. I get it, it’s not an easy job but when someone is feeing truly terrible and the people who are suppose to be taking care of you are just standing around chit chatting how could you truly believe you’re being provided good care? No one is clearly communicating, nurses say things such as “no rush” And excuse me, but I’m in a rush to feel better! Patients who clearly can’t walk on their own are moving about, their risk of falling incredibly high and no one seems to care. I’m not asking for 5 star hotel concierge service but a little human decency would go a long way.
So far this has been the worst hospital in the Bronx the nurses are rude and nasty they have no compassion for the patients or their families. I’ve never been so disgusted with a hospital before I waited 13hrs and I was never told what was wrong with me. Also the nurses and staff fighting among each other so unprofessional. The doctors were great but you need better nurses that will support the doctor better
This hospital saved my husband life. Caring and professional staff and the doctors were very knowledgeable and fast acting in his care. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is for the old rooms and some cleanliness issues and short on supplies at times but overall the care was awesome.
It took me nearly up to seven and half hours just to complete my stay at this hospital. I arrived there at 4:01am on a Saturday morning. Staff called my name to take my vitals. However none of the nursing or doctor staff called me to assist me any further. I had to ask the staff to have a doctor call me to be seen. My name was called after 7am. I did manage to get services I needed. By the time I left the hospital it was after 11:30am. Unfortunately, my visit to the facility lasted almost 7.5 hours. The _____________ people and their ____________ caused me to waste 7.5 hours of my time. What an engery draining experience. 🙄😐😠😤.
Their ER department is horrible. I went to the ER with my mom via ambulance, we got there a lil before 1pm. Fast forward 1:58 in the morning she still wasnt put in a room but her bed was ready at 7:30 pm. Anytime you asked someone a question they automatically said Im not her nurse, without even hearing what the question was. The doctor disappeared for hours and the nurses calling him. This was the absolute worst ER Ive ever encountered. And I NEVER want to come back again. I wish I had the option to give it negative stars
Horrible service if I could give it 0 stars I definitely would. The staff is incredibly rude, the RNs and security especially. They cut you off, theyre quick to dismiss you and they dont care about their patient. I asked to stay with my mother who has a brain tumor, suffers from depression and does not speak English and I was told that she can speak for herself and that I needed to leave the emergency room because visiting hours were over even though we had literally only been there for less than an hour and it was only 11am. These people shouldnt be working at a hospital if theyre going to be treating their patients like animals instead of actually trying to help them.
Our friends recently gave/received a liver transplant. They had the BEST of care. When we visited, every single employee we met was smiling and helpful. I recently retired as an OR nurse in a different hospital, and I was really impressed with the care they got. they get the highest rating from me!
This has to be the worst hospital. Nurses and interns in the ER are rude alike. No one cares about your love ones and bother to check and keep you updated so you end up spending tiresome hours waiting unnecessarily. My mom cannot advocate for herslf and couldnt trust they would either. Poor customer service Montefiore!
One of my colleagues came to work not feeling well, this morning. Suddenly, she informed me that she had heart chest, tingling sensation in her hands and was not feeling well, and had a strong headache. I was lead by the Spirit to asked her if she wanted me to inform administration of our school, so that we can call an ambulance service. As I ran down the stairs to get our nurse and tell our school secretary to inform admin about the urgency. I got back up to keep an eye on her and in less than 10 minutes the ambulance just showed up! It was a speedy service! They got in our small room (closet) and took her blood pressure and as a result she was taken to Montefiore Hospital. I was given permission by my school to accompany the patient. As we entered into ER the admission process took place within 15 minutes, meanwhile, they asked me to wait in the waiting area for the visiting hours.Visitors Hours runs every 2 hours:From 10:00-12:0012:00-2:00pm2:00-4:00pm4:00-6:00pm6:00-8:00pm8:00-10:00pmThe emergency room was packed of patients breathing one on top of the other! There is very little room available between the small cubical for patients privacy. I heard many of the people complaining about the lack of Hygiene in the bathrooms, so I checked on myself. The bathrooms were filthy and stinky smells were coming out in the hallways. Public hospitals hygiene is to be rigorous and impecable in order to avoid contamination and the spread of diseases. The ambulance service was perfect timing!I heard many of the patients complaining about being there for long time without being getting attended.Suggestion: Increase manpower to do the jobs.
I had excellent service there 5 years ago for a major surgery. Dr. Kinkhabwala, and Dr. Reinus handled my case really well. Dr. Ballaban-Gil was a part of the process as well and she was wonderful. Dr. Ballaban-Gil is an amazing doctor and knows her stuff. All of them were great. The nurses during my stay were great as well (except for one, but I wont give a bad review for one bad nurse on the night shift).
I was having pains in my chest and i was having trouble breathing. I was at the ER for 12 hours with no idea why this was happening. All test came back negative and they sent me home with Motrin while I was still having trouble breathing and severe chest pains. The nurses were rude and not attentive to your needs at all. I asked a nurse for help and she told me its not like she was standing around she just happen to be walking by. Some advice form someone who works with the public daily is find nurses that truely care about their patients that dont act ghetto because a patient asked for help.(ITS YOUR JOB) I would rather have drove and hour away to get better care then deal with this place ever again.
The regular hospital itself is fine and is maintained good. The ER was over crowded and to see a nurse was a 4 hour wait and get get medication for pain is about a 6 hour wait and to do an X-ray is around an 11 hour wait and the worse part was how unsanitary everything was!! The whole ER was dirty!! I was afraid of getting infected with something. The bathrooms smelled horrible, were dirty and had blood all over the toilet seat, seemed like no one had cleaned it at all, I understand when there is a lot of people come and go things will get dirty but this experience was at 8:00am. I would recommend not going into that ER if it can be avoided
The ED was wonderful. Went to NW1 and it was awful. No pillows, no blankets, no towels to shower. Was told couldnt have food until saw MD. Saw MD was cleared for food....food never came. Asked numerous times. Never got antibiotics or daily medications. Called RN numerous times and she kept sending in tech. Btw, I WORK HERE!!
3/17/18 @2:32 PM Wait time was RIDICULOUS, WAITED 13 HOURS all for a simple catscan that couldve easily been done hours ago. They also prescribed the wrong medicine which only made the pain worse. Emergency room was filthy and reeked of urine. Doctors and nurses were too busy having a social gathering while patients were sick and in pain. They couldnt have possibly been any slower and careless. The nurses AND doctors are a DISGRACE. Do not waste your time here. You will have to wait AT LEAST 12 HOURS TO GET TAKEN CARE OF. DO NOT come here. If you do decide to come to this shithole be prepared for the nurses to lose your urine sample, never receive your blood test results, wait hours unattended in agonizing pain and deal with nurses in the emergency room with disgusting attitudes who are only money hungry. TERRIBLE experience and so much time wasted. Be smart and choose a better and more organized hospital like North Central Hospital or Lebanon.
I only have had bad experiences here no dr wants to hear your opinion. everyone is busy chit chatting and not respecting patients all the way from the ER to where ever they find a bed for you. The red zone is the worst even the doctors will tell you. Now the blue zone is falling into the same hole nurses talk loud in the hallway when you are trying to sleep. medicine is never delivered on time. I would not recommend anyone come to this hospital. People who give good ratings must be extremely lucky...The absolute worst hospital ever !!!!!!!!! 0 STARS
This is the worst emergency room, the staff is extremely rude and could care less if a patient is running a high fever plus missing all her medications. my grandmother who is over 85 years old has been unattended for more than 8 hours and waiting... It does not deserve even a star.... And to add to it, due to their negligence my grandmother passed away days later in the hospital
Because I have no insurance as a single adult with no kids or family; I was treated like a joke in the ER. Heard then say Leave her last and minimal care; she has no insurance. Bet she is looking for meds as well. Ultrasound and CT were nice to me; as well as two GYN attendants. The rest just left me there dehydrated with no fluids bag. They kept saying even my allergies to medication and dyes bothered them. I left still in pain and with no answers to why I doubled over in pain and throwing up. All I got was We know you are in pain, just cannot find it; but we think it is a kidney stone or polyp, or hernia, or cyst.. We just do not know, but do you want meds? NO I DO NOT WANT MEDS!!!! I WANT TO NOT BE TREATED LIKE A WASTE OF TIME. I WANT THE SAME HELP YOU GIVE INSURED PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD A JOKE MEDICAL SYSTEM!!! I WOULD HAVE BERN BETTER OFF STAYING HOME AND NOT LOOSING HOURS AT WORK I NEEDED!!!
The staff are friendly and caring, its just that there is not enough staff to handle the amount of people pouring into this place, mainly the emergency room. It feels like people just went in there for a hot meal or some attention. My mother was rushed here from her job because it was the nearest hospital and it was like a Civil War Medical Tent, just bodies laid out wherever there was a spot to roll them up to. No privacy and people just hanging over one another, bathrooms that cant be locked, homeless, or near homeless, just wandering aimlessly who were taken there for God knows what reason. Just a true nightmare and I feel very sorry for the staff who have to work under these conditions daily.
I was in the ER for 12 hours....with a broken foot, couldnt walk, and did not eat a single thing. I asked multiple nurses if there was anything I could have and was told by some since theyre not my nurse, they couldnt provide me with anything. I told another nurse EXACTLY where my nurse was (on the other side of a curtain) and she said okay, Ill tell her then walked right in the opposite direction, she never came back to check on me, or do anything. Ive never felt so blatantly disrespected. How is it that someone tells you theyve been around for half the day, and has not had anything to eat or drink but a tiny cup of water, and you no effort to help find my nurse for me when Im hungry, thirty and cannot do for myself?
This is the worse Hospital I have ever been to, I had an emergency situation and was told to see in a chair for over 12 hours, no food no water, the doctors forgot I even existed. After my Ultrasound I had to wait 5 hours for them to tell me my scan was clear and I could go home.I took my 4 year old son to the pediatric ER a few weeks ago and they let him sit in pain for 12 hours, also ignored.Horrible doctors, horrible service.
I worked at this Hospital and it is always short of staff from the hours of 5pm-8am and it is really bad! I seen a lot of messed up things that i dont want a talk about & a lot of the staff dont care, there rude & just show up to get a check & do nothing & just stay on there phones or shop online using the computers from the hospital like a lot of bad CNAs do, that dont do there job!..I would not recommend family or friends to come here! I myself wouldnt come here! #NorthBronxHospital
Worse emergency room I have ever been to. They treat patients like animals. I spent 10 hours there for something that should have take no more than a few hours. These peeple are putting peoples life in danger. During 10 hours there I witness horrible Hygiene, poor hand washing and people fighting out of frustration. Stay away from this hospital.
Worst ER experience I ever seen. My mom have been many time and every time I tell her why she goes there. I always end up taking her out of there. They dont have enough staff. Too many people in the ER. They try to admit my mom and took her upstair but when she got there They told us she was going to be in a hallway because they had no bed. I was like hell no. I am not leaving my mom here in the hallwall. They just care about the money not the patient. How you going to leave a patient in the hallway. Dont go there people. Worst hospital I ever been to.
From my arrival to the ER to getting admitted I experienced the worst I have ever in this hospital! All the nurses are rude in the ER, they dont care about you as long as they get paid by your insurance they stick u in any corner. In the ER they had me sitting on a chair with a blood clot and my foot got ran over by a man moving a stretcher. Then they took me upstairs to get admitted and I was left in the hallway for an entire day where the floor was full of drug addicts trying to rob you, until I finally put my foot down and told them if I dont get a room I will sign myself out! Whatever u do dont come to this hospital its very dirty and everyone is rude and nasty and all they care about is getting your money!
I rate this hospital one of the best of the Bronx area, when you are in patient the doctors are great, now the staff like nurses and nurse assistance you might not like all their performance. On the ER area I understand we are in a over populated city dont expect to be the only patient with an emergency in any ER area in this city.
I understand that hospital profession can be hard work. dealing with peoples lives... but in saying that...They never get their act together. Never get my sons appointments right. Long waiting time for a schedule appointment an hour.. two or more. Why have a schedule appointment . Never properly follow up on ordering my sons treatments. Sent it to wrong the clinic. We found out that our son has osteoporosis from a medicine the prescribe to him over 20 years ago. They neglected to check for the side affect (osteoporosis) this treatment cause in his blood work. When we had a sit down with a supervisor and the doctor assigned to our son. They said that information that about Osteoporosis side affect caused by this treatment was the most resent information they had. That was 20 year ago. INFORMATION THAT IS 20 YEARS OLD IS THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION THEY HAD. IT DIDNT ACCUR TO ANYONE TO TELL US! Now our son has to deal with this condition. The supervisor said he would personally look in to this matter.. 3 months later the supervisor retired without doing anything and the doctor was reassigned. One time my ex-wife had taken our son to the ER. After waiting for 3 hours there, she asked for his doctor. Wanted to know whats going on. The doctor told her our son was dying she could wait. This is professional care?! Not one time has my son gone to an appointment there without there being a promising out come. My ex-wife leaves there frustrated be cause the lack of provision and lack of professionalism
I went to the ER with my husband he was taken in the back rather quickly but as you know you have to be seen by a resident, then a nurse and then lastly by a doctor in training. Waiting in the waiting area, its freezing the bathrooms are disgusting. Now all my doctors are Montefoire physicians that speaks volume but that er needs improvement. I am not satisfied at all.
I came in for Asthma treatment and after being registered I was seated in the emergency room for 38 minutes before receiving treatment for my asthma smfh.I thought I was going to die as I gasped for air asking for help as nurses kept walking past. I finally received treatment after I demanded a supervisor smfh.
I came here only today , I asked for nurse noone looked and answered. I came from 2 hour away from here for my hubby, I asked 1 sheet and blanket. Whoever gave m sheet she said they dont have blankets. No arrangements fr family to sleep who comes from far no attention and care who is coming ..... worse system ever I say. I Thank to my city Hospital much much greater then here.
Doctors and or staff is great. If your gonna spend a few days there you’ll get a taste of what hell could be like. No one care if you wait four hrs for a cup of ice. Your are a real bother. Make sure you have a family member or friend bring you food or you will starve cause the food is bad. I wouldn’t give it to raccoons. Also, plan on discharging taking an entire shift.
Never go to this Hospital ER unless your Ready to Die !!! Its always a overcrowded meat grinder with a careless ER staff with a Poor attitude and and a lonnnnng wait time and Usually No bed until 24-36 hours later. My mom had cancer and after seeing the careless touch and go staff, I had to get the Councilmans and Assemblyman to get her released so she could die at home in my arms....As they kept screwing things up, nurses left old needles in her bed, I walked in while my mom was in soiled robe just standing there alone in room to which I had to change and wound up staying there until her release 24hrs a day. Its a Business First and a Teaching hospital period. I would give it a 2 on a scale of 1-10... I could go on but you should get the point...
I really don’t want to share anymore of what every one say and have 1 Star.. I feel every one have bad review is what exactly went through today with family member!!It is shameful in 2019 hospital still can’t run 5*I hope someone really care about “Care”!! In business customer review is very important, so to what need to be fix or done for customer satisfaction!! Imagine is a hospital to sick people, not customer!! It should be more CARE!!I would of gave less then 1 Star if I can!!
They saved my life when I came from Boston Mass. when I attending my brothers wake/funeral in the Bronx NY 3/15/2016.I had a stroke during the wake and they rushed me from the funeral home to Montifore and I under gone emergency surgery on the right side of brain and they removed a blood clot the size of a golf ball and Im ever so grateful for the quick response and I had long recovery and Im still in therapy for OT and PT I had to learn how to walk and talk again but because of the quick thinking of the staff at Montifore and the care I received while I was there was excellent.Thank you all for giving me my life back and a second chance.
Terrible service for the elderly. My grandfather has been hospitalized for two months and lt saddens me the way they treat their patient. The nurse Grey was so aggressive towards my grandfather, that l had to intervene and call the floor supervisor. He had the audacity to scream at me over my grandther bed while trying to transferred my grandfather to another bed. For someone who had open heart surgery, a stroke two weeks later, and a gallblader procedure you would think they will be a little more compassionate and attentive. Another nurse by the name Ajemra came to administer drugs through his IV while being on the phone with someone. lt baffles me how you’re capable of administrating important drugs to a patient while having a full blown conversation on the phone. If l had the strength to transferred my grandfather out of this hospital, l would. All you hear is loud laughter and conversations in the hallways while there’s sick patients trying to rest. You hear them have personal conversation about other patients as well. Whatever happens to HIPPA policy? So unethical and unprofessional, and this is coming from someone who worked in mount Sanai hospital with elderly patients. You can obviously tell they hire just anyone to do this job. Nurses that lack ethical professionalism, nurses that actually care and pay attention to their patient and aren’t just there to collect a check. If you can avoid this hospital please do. l just pray and hope my grandfather leaves this hospital alive.
The doctors in their are evil. They dont have your best interest at heart. Im not saying all, but most are. Most doctors are about money the longer you in there and the more they have you do with your situation the more money for them. Its all about money. Its sad theres people in the world that dont have your best interest at heart, however look whats going on around the world. So is not surprisingly why these doctors are the same too. Make sure you do whats best for you and consider all your options. The doctor I had wanted to get me in trouble telling me I was neglecting her medical advice and she was not going to give me nothing because she wanted me to do a procedure. So I stood my ground got my facts together went back and fourth with her and she had no choice to let me on what I requested because she seen I knew exactly what I was talking about. And how I caught her in her lies more than twice. It wasnt just her the other ones that was seeing me had to stay on her page too because they work together. But Im glad I pray and God The Father helped me what to say and pay attention to. They was even doing things they was not supposed to do. Because Im not new to the situation I went in for. But is all right everyone will have to answer to what they do one day. Most of these people dont even believe in the true and living God anyway. Jesus is King.
Dirty bed sheets, flies crawling all over the floor, Ppl screaming in pain and for medical attention while nurses and doctors takes selfies just two feet away. This is just some of the horrors me and my boyfriend experienced in this hospital. We went to the er, most of the staff was alright however the nurses are just bad they lie, leave unlabeled blood around, and God knows what kinda medicine all over the place just waiting for someone to take it... Had to wait close to three hours in the er, for a doctor to see us after we alrdy waiting for about three in the waiting room. The only good thing about this place was the doctor we saw was actually helpful.
Was there 1 month ago. Dr Ross Kaye is an idiot. DO NOT ASK OR LET HIM TAKE OVER YOUR CARE!! I had to have him redo my discharge papers and he still got them wrong. He let me go with a left swollen kidney which is getting worse and the other one is doing the same thing. Hes a punk. Dont trust him. Montefiore needs to vet the little wanna be doctors better.I was in a room with the door propped open with an oxygen tank, no call button, no blankets and the sheets had dried blood. Nobody did anything!!Please, really THINK before you choose this place. At least stay away from Klau 7 and dr ROSS KAYE
My mom was here for three weeks n had a great time until the doctor said they would sent me to Careone hospital in new jersey. they did a terrrrrrrrrrible job with my mom n now she is so much worse then she was before. I will never go bak to Montefiore or CareNONE ever again
Today my husband took our kids to the ER and at 11:33 am they told him they will be right back with motrin for both. Well at 12:45 they gave them the Motrin both boys came in at 10am with fevers of 100.4 and 100.9. Montefiore has changed a lot, I understand these are doctors but if you going to be a doctor with no type of shape form of compassion then do not become a doctor, go ruin someones elses life. Disgusted with the doctors the past few years!
7-15-2017 Right now I am seating with my family in the children emergency waiting area. As we came down the stairs a strong smell of cigarette and marihuana overcome the whole area, I just could not believe that our hospital permit that their workers smoke in an area where sick children have to pass by to get in the emergency room. Inside the emergency room for children it was dark and not very good looking. Not people friendly. We love montefiore but I think they are growing too fast too soon. I Hope they pay attention to details like they always have done and that they continue collecting feedback from their customers. :-(
This is the most inhumane, disgusting, horrible hospital I have ever been to. The hospital itself is understaffed, unclean, unsafe, and generally gave off a vibe of hopelessness. There is no privacy in the Emergency Room due to far too many patients on the floor. Once they finally remember you exist and decide to actually spend about two entire minutes taking care of you, they leave again to assist someone about one foot away. Someone or something should take care of making this place at least somewhat decent and bring it to a certain standard that one would normally equate with living in New York.
I hate it here they take super long to do anything, I’m pregnant and been vomiting non stop and still barely got anything done to me. I’m scared and cold and bored and angry .... they don’t help I been waiting for a room for about 6 hours to get admitted. After I been here over night in this same little room they had me in to connect me to fluids. It’s frustrating cause I’m still vomiting.
I called to find out if a family member was still at the hospital, I was transferred three times then left on hold for almost 35 minutes! Twice a person would pickup and say please hold then put me back on hold. Either you guys are under staffed or need to figure out what’s going on. FYI no one ever picked up the phone to help me after 35 mins on hold. I got tired of holding and hung up! Very poor customer service!
Service is horrible, nurses in the emergnancy room are rude and spend more time talking about gossip then taking care of there patients. They don’t take the time out to explain what they going to do before hand and also pick and choose what patient they want to deal with at the moment .
This hospital has the most unqualified people working here a lot of them dont even understand English but they got them working full time they cant do basic wound care as in changing the wrappings and all they do is cover up for one another this is bad really bad and I havent even scratched the surface they need cameras in these places too soda and competency of the people they hiring as the management is not doing a job with the level of incompetence that is coming from the people who supposed to help the patients
I have been in Moses more than 10 times. I had 2 amputations, bypasses, heart attack, etc... The drs. & nurses were excellent. I sometimes go visit. I only have one complaint and I dont remember the drs. name(I saw so many) He was a PA. He couldnt find my vein to insert the IV and he asked me (very seriously) How do you shoot up? I was never so insulted in my life. I never have used drugs. I guess he thinks everyone from the Bronx is an addict. I wish I cvould remember his name. Otherwise, wonderful hospital & staff.
This has been my hospital since birth. The best doctors you could ever ask for. In my 19 years of life, Ive only ever encountered 3 awful doctors and 1 disgusting fellowship nurse [she deliberately left vomit in the bathroom I was entering from a patient and informed no one, when my mother told her about it she began to yell at her], and when these situations do happen unethical/unprofessional, Montefiore is swift to match the punishment to the infraction.I have epilepsy [developed] and asthma. Ive sprained and fractured ankles, fingers, and have gotten many deep cuts. My brother has heart disease and multiple mental and physical disabilities. He went undiagnosed for 6 weeks and they were able to save him. He received his pacemaker and many other surgeries and therapies here. From a severe cold to literally near-death expereinces, Montefiore is there to help.
This is the worst hospital ever on Nov 15th, 2016 I went in to the ER at 11:30am due to some heavy and shape back pains and neck pains they told me it might have to do something with my spine the whole time from 11:30am to 10pm they had me sittin in that hospital in pain...never did the try to help me feel better or anything that sat there looking at each other as if nobody had answers to none of the questions I had. They sent me home still in pain with a book telling me how I should sleep and some Naproxson. They cater to who they want and do what they want never again will I return to this stupid hospital
Montefiore Home Care is terrible. My father was sent home after a knee replacement on a Tuesday and was supposed to have a nurse evaluate him the following day to set up a physical therapist schedule. The nurse supposedly could not get into the building, the next day she called out and no one informed us. One excuse after another and my father still has not been receiving physical therapy three days later and now has to wait through the weekend. Anyone with a brain knows how important it is to receive PT after this type of surgery. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL service.
Very bad very unprofessional they act as if you are a criminal and you have no say so if you have mental problems. The supervisors and all who work here are all the same. The security guards think that they are cops which they are not. My boyfriend has mental problems where he cant be alone and ever hospital he goes to Im allowed to be with him because his mental health, but here they do not care. They didnt wants to be with him. So if he was to go boonkers than they can call the guards and make him look like a fool. Where Im the only one that can control him. Im never going to take any of my family or recommend any montefiore hospital. Very displeased. 😠😠😠😠😠
SHAMEFUL BUNCH OF LAZY THIEVES!!! I received a bill that I was not supposed to get. My insurance would have covered it 100% as long as it was re-submitted with the coding United Health Care needed, which was a diagnostic, but they refused saying that it was a room use fee (are they into real estate now?) The wonderful UHC agent, Marcy, pleaded with them do so but to no avail. Poor attitude, awful customer service skills!
I came in with chest pains and asthma. They said I had to wait. Then it took the doctor two hours just to come talk to me. They er was filled with doctors and other staff members sitting on their asses doing nothing with a packed ER. They sent MW for xrays and sent me home and the issue and whole reason for coming to the ER was not resolved.
Another E.R. complaint. Was there for chest pain a few weeks ago. Before change of tour in a.m. I was very uncomfortable and scared. I was getting blood taken and an ekg. There were employees there in front of the area I was in looking at stupid stuff on the Internet and joking around. One woman in particular was talking very loud and using profanity in every other sentence. No kind of professionalism on her part at all. There were people on each side of me who seemed to be in alot of pain. Who wants to hear people joking and cursing when you are worried about your health. Later a nurse had to come and reprimand that same woman about not helping with a patient. The rude woman told her she was taking a test on computer. Come to find out she was told she was not eligible for it and who told her to take it upon herself to make that decision. My thing is that the patient experience starts when he or she sets foot in the door and yes appearances do count. Kudos to the 3 dedicated employees who were pleasant and professional towards me especially the nurse who realized I was there for 5 hrs and got me something to eat.
Been in the waiting room for almost 6 hrs before getting called to check me. Been telling the same time over and over again. No hi nothing like that. Once they call me to meet the doctor they had me wait for more time. Everything clean and all but the waiting time was horrible.
This hospitals Has a program that the kids come here for school hours with a school that has disability kids .. they have an interview for the students and select a little bit And a lot of students don’t get chosen and they just tell the students maybe next year That’s messed up
My son broke his hand, amd we went to the emergency room. After the registration process my son sat for two hours waiting to be triaged. The the triage nurse called out, last call for Zakari Moose. So I went to the room to verify whether or not she was calling my son. Then she told me that she had been calling him and that we needed to go to the fast track /peds doors. so we did but when we spoke to the nurse in that section she had no record of me in her files. so she walked my son and I back to the triage nurse who was working with some other individuals. The peds nurse asked her if she sent us to her and she said no. At this point Im trying to figure out what was going on, but I was still calm. Then she told us to wait until she was finish with the individual, just stand off to the side of the room. Then she called my son, Moose. So I walked cross the room and said, MY SONS NAME IS NOT MOOSE ITS ZAKARI MUSAH. Then she said, Im trying to register him, then I said to her there was no reason to call my sons name over the speaker when were only steps away. Its very disrepectfull to call a person and not pronounce there name incorrect. Then have them Stan to the side and not acknowledge the fact that you told them to go there. I asked her if she was really a nurse and she got upset and called security . Then they seated us in the Asmatic station which was filthy . This hospital ER department is unsanitary, and the doctors and nurse are very Im professional. They need to send someone to investigate these conditions and check the credential or the employees.
All the staff was wondering all except the doctor who came in the afternoon she was rude for no reason because I touch her to get her attention being I couldnt talk. She acted like it wasnt her job for me to ask her a question about my owe health Williams Russo was her name she dont need to be around sick people horrible bed side manners
Please make sure you check any other places before you go here (Pediatrics is the worst of the worst) to bad I can’t give them a 0 STAR!Two days in a row waited for 7-8h to be seen and they “couldn’t see my 1 year old child) who had a fever of 104.7 for 4 days. When you ask them any questions the answer is always “defense offense reaction” WHY?!Nothing is free there they get paid to do their JOB.HORRIBLE !!!
Sooo sooo unprofessional, i went here because i was in really bad pain they didn’t even care ‘ nurses dont even want to take care of you fighting each other about Whos going to take you . Dont go here ghey would treat you like you dont matter also they very racist, ima leave the pictures of how they left me go home ‘ cuz nobody wanted to do they job .
I dont know where to start. Ive been waiting for over three hours for a doctor to see my mom. Worse there seems to be an entire family making too much noise in an ER, and there was some man just wandering around who seemed to be out of it. The security gaurd just sat there and did nothing. I should have gone to another hospital!!!
My experience was very horrible I would not recommend nobody at all to Montefiore Medical Center, Moses campus I used to work there for 20 years I wouldn’t let my worst enemy I have surgery in that OR a place that I worked for 20 years I had a laminectomy done in December 24, 2019 Dr. Jonathan Crystal messed up my back I could not walk and to this day I still can’t walk taking physical therapy urinating on myself The pain is so horrible and I’m still have my sciatic nerve that hurts I went for Sadek nerve pain and the pain is just getting worse what did he do nothing at all mess on my back so people watch out do not put Jonathan Crystal in your hands orthopedic surgeon in Montefiore Medical Center Moses campus thank you very much
I have been waiting 3 weeks for 1 fax from orthopedic surgical dept. Charles sends me to Stephanie, she says wait Sara will call, that never happened. Now back to CHARLES WHO IS TICKED OFF, HE HAS TO REFAX PAPERS .I have gotten A WEEK run around, and the person that supposed to take care of this is mad at me.ABSOLUTE UNPROFESSIONAL. EVERY TIME I SPEAK TO HIM.ITS CLEAR HE HATES ME .I dont care either, just do your job professionally ! CHARLES RIZZO. Also the ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY DEPT SUCKS !! I got a surgery fromCHAIYAPORN KULSAKDINUN a midget SURGEON who after 2 other doctors got it right. Dr Chaiyaporn Kulsakdinun couldnt get it straight at all. He put in 24 screws in my ankle, and now my ankle is crooked !! Because of them Dr Chaiyaporn Kulsakdinun I am on disability for life. When you dig deep as I did into his background you will find he had 2 MALPRACTICE law suits he had to pay out because of his lousy work !!I am not his only VICTIM of MONTEFIORE ORTHOPEDIC Butchery Dept !!
I think its uncouth and tacky to stand at someones death bed just before youll be hooked up to the IV; to inform you of your co-pay and ask how you plan on paying for this- ready with a card reader to take payment. I regret caving to this type of inquiry while in so much duress and should have told the registration person that they already had my insurance, name and address, place of employment, and that they could send me a bill in the mail. I guess that being in the hood, thats how people roll since they think they aint going to get paid...
The worst hospital to comunícate, the whole day I have been trying to comunícate with this hospital to find out about a relative, first they din answer the phone, one of the times that I went through, they put me on hold and never came back to answer my call till I hang up, unbelievable the bad service, they don’t care about the relatives that have a loved one admitted
Horrible the team on the 7th floor on the blue side are unprofessional & rude. They talk about other patients in front of patients. Now the other side is just as bad like they really need to bring in some good ppl with the passion for this; not just ppl who are in it for the money.
Today is the second time I come here to this hospital and the service is sucks they could let die the patients the doctors disappeared every patient have to wait about 8 hour to see a mercy doctor I think there is only one doctor for hundreds of people what kind of hospital is this I just can see people with blue shirts walking around please be more efficient
Some staff here are soooo bad that it pulls down the overall service quality of this hospital. Their bad influence is strong enough to ruin the good work of other good staff. This evil force is callous, inefficient, rude, lazy, arrogant and completely unprofessional. It appeared as if no one supervises their work, and they go by their own pace and mood.Pathetic hospital!!!!
If I could give it a negative -5 I will I went in with horrible pain on my abdominal and I went in at 10 the nurse seen me quickly in less then an hour then I stud in a room for 8 hours and then got taking to ultrasound and then 4 hours waiting omg on a ct so basically 12 hour
The Montefiore is a excellent hospital the way the Doctors and total staff are caring and very respectful they give excellent care thanks to the excelente treatment of cancer mom still alive Im so greatful for all they hard effort in making mom better thanks to God and the Doctors at the Montefiore.
Monti ER has given me great care.I go there every month for dehydration due to a vomiting syndrome I have for past 8 yrs.The doctors have good bedside manners. But kudos go to Dr.Brody and especially my love for Dr.Lina Cardona who has taken care of me several times for being sympathetic to my illness and is very caring to her patients. She is the best and may God Bless Her and may she continue to care for her patients the way she has.
Cancer floor is horrible...my aunt didnt see a doctor unil 9pm .after asking for onoe since first thing in the a.m ....one nurse told her during an episode to stop acting so stupid smh very disappointed .they messed up on my spinal tap leaving me with a spinal leak that i was admitted for for a week .if it wasnt for its convenience for some people i dont think many people would go there .its slow and packed from the waiting room all the way to the rooms .....the night staff is so much better then the day staff .its really ashame .....if you have any SERIOUS condition please dont go here nor the other one near bronx blvd they are just as bad .God bless all the people there relying on them for care .cant wait for her transfer papers to go threw so she can get out of there..
I was in a coma for two months and I had an angel visit me the day i came out of the coma we talked for a while i but i wont get into that however after the angel left and I woke up the Doctor came in and he said that was a hullucination and i told him it was not but he wouldnt believe me go figure.
(((For Maternity )))This place has horrible service.. The only positive hard working person there was DR santoses Secretary I believe her name is Gal or something like that... first of all trying to call for a appointment or just to ask a question is impossible on any day at anytime nobody iat the front desk answer the phones, when you go in they all have attitudes let me be spastic there are two sides one side for sonograms and such the other side to actually see your doctor... the side for the sonograms HORRIBLE MY WHOLE 9 Months pregnant... you call they don’t ever answer if for god sake they do they have attitude you walk in for appointment in your face they have attitude I called because I was having pain I needed to ask a question to a nurse or doc this is my hospital I’m 39 weeks pregnant nobody answers after my 15th attempt that day to contact a nurse or my doc someone finally answered I Heard them pick up than hang up worst experience ever like I said this went on my whole pregnancy they never answer or help at the front desk of sonogram sideee without being nasty all of them horrible and this is my first pregnancy so everything is scary New for me I regreat with everything in meee picking this hospital for maternity... (((SAVE YOURSELF DONT DO IT !!!))) My doctor is DR Santos he is sweet and will answer all my questions.. and give good advice.. but never prescribed me prenatals though my family and friends were all surprised... he said taking one a days are fine.. I was having horrible heart burn taking tums ever few minutes... I told him he said just continue taking Tums.. no other advice or prescription and I NEVER saw him at the time of my appointment always atleast 30-1hr&30mins afterrr my scheduled appointment time... always late neverrrr saw him once on time you sit there for a while first smh he has no sense of time you’ll never go in on time which was hard on me still working I made appointments for early morning so I could still go to work I was always super late to work if I had a appointment and lost out on pay sometimes towards the end of my pregnancy I skipped appointments just because I needed to work my full hours to get paid I have rent and bills to pay I complained at the front desk about the time nothing ever changed I’m sure it never will he’s not a bad doctor you just won’t see him on time and he’ll never prescribe you anything anything he told you to do you can get off the Internet or at Rite Aid so became kind of senseless to go over there I hear a lot of other people with their experiences with your doctors and they be so in love I really wish I would’ve chosen differently at this point It’s too late for me next time I know better I’ll never go here again his assistant was the only one that was constantly reaching out for appointments confirmations of appointments hoping with all of my paperwork very nice always worked with me no matter how long it took was always quick to help me anytime I wish she was the damn doctor Lol smh never again
I have been going this this hospital for years since b4 I had my back surgery in 1997 as a kid which I thought they were great and clean I could remember going to see my grandmother and grandfather as a child still clean this has always been my go to hospital they saved my fathers life here twice with his heart surgery and also infection always clean and great drs well 2 weeks ago my husband got hurt and I told him go right to the ER there OMG has things changed the ER was a mess rows of beds ppl on chairs it was so hot and it smelt so bad u couldnt even work it was DIRTY I couldnt even believe what I was seeing in this ER it was disgusting I couldnt believe my eyes this hospital has changed in so many levels its disgusting i was told there under new management and they dont care anymore its been like this for a while now were they only get drunk ppl or ppl who r on drugs and want to eat what about the ppl who r sick its not right they need to fix this problem bc they have always been the best and how its looking now is changing it hospitals shouldnt b hot for germs hospitals shouldnt b dirty and smell hospitals should b clean hospitals should b more warming feeling to ppl who r in ERS or have to stay this new management should go look at NYC hospitals or upper westchester and see what A hospital should b and look like bc this hospital lost its touch
THIS HOSPITAL WAS THE BEST IN THE BRONX FOR ABOUT 30 BUT SINCE 2010 OR SO THERES A WAIT OF ALMOST 4 MONTHS OR MORE FOR URGENT APPOINTMENTS COMPARE TO HOSPITAL LIKE COLUMBIA PRESBYTERIAN IN WASHINGTON HEIGHTS. THIS PLACE IS JUST DISGUSTING AND AT TIMES IF YOURE PART OF THE GREAT MANY THAT ARE PART OF AN ETHNIC MINORITY LETS JUST SAY YOU WILL FEEL THE DISCRIMINATORY TREATMENT FROM SOME OF THE CAUCASIAN STAFF MEMBERS !! I WORKED HERE SO I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT AND IVE LIVED IN THE NEAR VICINITY FOR 20 YRS. !!
My family member was in the ER and there were more people than space, the patients were in rows of two and three in spaces that were meant for a single bed, patients were in wheelchairs in the middle of the floor, and sitting in the chairs that were meant for visitors, they had more than 50 patients crammed in that space, I had to squeeze between patients to reach my family member, you only get a 30 min visit, and in that time not one nurse came to check my family member, people were asking for water but were being ignored, I wish I could have taken pictures of it, but they have a sign saying no photos, Please Dont Take Your Love ones There for Emergencies.
Worst hospital to ever go too !!! I am pregnant I sat in the waiting room for 3 hours to be seen !!! No one would assist me or let me know how many people were in front of me . Dont waste your time here ! Its 20 degrees outside as they have the front door wide open ! The waiting room is freezing worst service everrrrr!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE !!!!!!!! HAD ME SIT THERE FOR 6 HOURS STRAIGHT JUST TO TELL ME THEY CANT HELP ME AND THEN HAVE THE NERVE TO ASK FOR MORE BLOOD JUST FOR AN ULTRASOUND BUT JUST TOOK TWO SIMPLE 4 HOURS BEFORE!!! REMIND YOU IM SITTING THERE PREGNANT HAVENT ATE IN FOUR DAYS AND NO ONE ASK FOR ASSITANCE OR UPDATE ME ON ANYTHING!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN AND PUT BETTER STAFF AND DOCTORS!!!! CALL 311!!

2022-01-22Dr. Alicia Rodlon Wakefield Campus in addition to her dedication to her medical duties took the time to explain the wording of medical jargon that was of concern. She was sensitive and caring in her approach. The Wakefield team on the 4 south take the time to ensure that I get an update on my brother’s care daily. When I visit the floor the nurses are caring and gives instructions on universal precautions to ensure the safety of visitors and patient. As I pray for my brother’s recovery I am grateful to the team that care for him daily. Thank you all for the work you do.

2022-03-28Today I went the second time out of the week to go see my mother who is suffering from two different forms of cancer and unbearable stomach pain, I thank the doctors and nurses that are caring for her but there is the rest of the staff that is unbelievably inconsiderate, her room was so cold it felt like we were outside and its disgusting. She and her roommate had to wait so long for another kind of service when her main nurses leave for the evening its absolutely horrible. For extra blankets it took them hours to bring her something, for them to heat up food because all her doctors came to check on her to see if she was okay and to talk to her about next steps, nothing but cold food. For someone to come fix the temperature in the room..... No one came. Yall gotta do better, cant be the some pulling the weight for everyone else.

2022-03-20I sent my father to this hospital at 3 am and he was not treated till 3 pm in the evening and he was really sick with a stomachache. Also they didn’t take samples of his stool and only gave him IV.They let him sit there for a long time and his problem could have gotten worse. Please do better next time.

2022-03-16This security guard was ither on meds or on drugs, I was told to wait in the waiting room from front desk after coming in the emergency entrance. The nurse and doctors were efficient 10 mins in the waiting room im told I cant be here when I asked why they failed multiple time to articulate any explanation. I started recording the incident and the security guard Jose Cabrera literally pushed me. This was my first time visit to this hospital and I thank God I recorded it and even addressed it to his supervisor. I will follow up on legal actions to the hospital for failure to properly train and drug test security guards amongst failing to understand the constitutional rights we have. So because of this the hospital as a whole will receive 2 .

2022-03-30Im surprised by the negative reviews as I had a great experience. The nurses are amazing!! They really are the backbone of the department. The one thing I didnt like is the doctors that would come in at 6 in the morning with their students, like I dont want to see you people! Lol

2022-06-10Getting a referral from Montifiore, is hard to do. It’s seems like they want to keep you down, so that you could keep coming back for health care. They don’t really want to help you. It’s a business, remember…
