I worked with Alex in the summer of 2020 to sell my home, and I couldnt have been more pleased! I received multiple offers the first day the house went on the market, thanks in large part to Alexs incredible work. Alex brought in a fabulous photographer and videographer to showcase my home online, which created much more attention and brought in serious buyers. Thanks to Alex, we are currently writing this review from our dream first home. While we had been casually viewing home listings online for a few months, we hadn’t done much research about the actual buying process. Things got serious quickly when we suddenly fell in love with a home we saw online. Alex was super responsive and set up a showing for the same day. The home had multiple offers and required us to act fast. Alex found us a reliable local credit union to work with for a pre-qualification and then advised us on a competitive offer. Alex was recommended to us by a friend he worked with previously. He was very responsive, had great knowledge of the area and the real estate process (we were first time buyers). We could not have had a better experience selling our house with Alex! He patiently followed up and stayed in touch while we were getting our house ready to put on the market over the course of a few months, and gave us advice on what repairs/updates would be worth it. As a first-time home buyer, I was fortunate to have met Alex through a friend. Two days before going on a three-week vacation outside the country, I called Alex and told him what I had in mind, asking him to keep an eye out while I was away. Instead, Alex said he had just the place I was looking for and we could take a look the next morning. He was right - the lovely condo checked every one of my boxes and some more. We made an offer and got my mortgage application started on the spot! Before I left for my trip two days later, wed had our offer accepted, mortgage pre-approved, lawyer hired, and inspection scheduled. Alex is the best realtor weve ever worked with. Weve bought 3 homes, sold 2 homes, and worked with 4 other realtors. Alex provided service far above anyone else weve worked with. Alex was always available, he even called us when when he was traveling oversees. Sometimes it felt like he was working full-time for just us. We werent able to travel from Texas to NY to look at houses with him, but between his amazing help and relatives in the area, we were are able to find a great house. It didnt stop after we closed. After we moved in, we were having trouble with our air conditioning system and I emailed him over the weekend to see if he could help us figure out from the previous owner who installed the system. He actually called me immediately even though it was the weekend and got me the information I needed right away. If we ever need realtor services again, we wont even consider anyone else. We just dont think its even possible anyone else could provide the level of service that Alex provided.

We began our house hunting process in June 2014 as we contemplated moving to the Albany area from the lower Hudson Valley region. Though both my wife and I had some experience working in the area, the Capital region was a relatively foreign place for us. We began the process with some reservations, a hint of anxiety (and then some), and time constraints. To complicate the matter, we had a tight window to find and close on a house so that I could start my new job in January 2015. Enough about us. Here is why Alex gets our highest recommendation.Alexs knowledge of the market conditions, nuances of different neighborhoods, quality of the school districts, styles of homes, and watchful eye for potential issues that we came across during our initial viewings became invaluable assets during the process. I was impressed by Alex the first time I saw one of his listings on its own site with a vanity URL. When we hired him to sell our house I continued to be impressed, especially by how he uses digital technologies to market and manage his sales. All the documents, including all those I needed to sign, were digital (e-signatures). This was an extreme help to me, because I live 150 miles from the house he was selling for me, but it also just reflects that he understand how to sell in this day and age. His suggestion for a listing price was also spot on. We sold about two months after we listed, and the bank underwriting our buyers mortgage valued our home at almost exactly what we listed for. September 20, 2017 was the closing of the sale of the house in Clifton Park, NY my sister and I bought for our parents over 13 years ago, when our parents were still living. After they passed away we kept the property as a rental. When we decided to sell the property this year, I interviewed candidate real estate agents on the phone. Alexander Monticello seemed to be the right choice, and he proceeded to prove it. We asked him to visit the property and make recommendations to improve its sale-ability. He did and his information was pertinent and extremely helpful. For example, he noticed the circuit breaker panel in the basement was one that had been faulty enough to have led to a lawsuit against the manufacturer, and he said it would raise a red flag in front of any buyers qualified home inspector. We had the circuit box replaced. Alex made several other recommendations and we followed each one. He revisited the property and listed it for sale. We listed with Monticello in early 2013, and simultaneously used Alexander as our buyers agent in finding a larger home. The entire experience was excellent. Alexander is so far ahead of the local competition in terms of technology. He understands that today, virtually all potential buyers do their own research in the internet. He promptly bought an easy-to-remember web address for our property, and began to aggressively market it to maximize search engine exposure and potential traffic. My husband and I had researched a few agents in the capital region to sell our 3 year old colonial home in Colonie. Alex came to our house for our first appointment during a big snow storm. Alex was well prepared with comps and eagerly answered every question my husband and I had. 2022-02-19We have bought two houses with Alex, one in 2014 and our last move in August of 2021, and sold one house. We cannot say enough great things about working with Alex. He is highly professional, quick to respond to all communication, keenly understands the market and gives great guidance through out the buying/selling process. 2021-12-07I recently became the executor of an estate and in that capacity needed to sell a house in Albany. I have almost no experience in real estate, and live two hours away. We consulted him almost a year in advance of putting our Center Square townhouse on the market and he came and toured the home and gave us sound, pragmatic advice for things we could and should do to ensure a quick sale. We have a lot of realtor friends (including Christian realtor friends), but our experience buying our house with Alex was so good that we opted to work with him again (see my review from 2013 below). Im not going to lie, I had my reservations because Alex Monticello was not as popular as he is today when we bought our house in 2013, so I assumed he wouldnt give us the same degree of care, but I was incorrect.We were extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Alex Monticello once more. As our realtor, he assisted us in setting a price for our property and provided us with clear explanations on how to avoid overpriced and unjustifiable homes in the present market. He was excellent at advising us on areas where we needed to make repairs or pay attention before putting the house on the market.He was patient as we pushed the days for putting the house on the market and was always very courteous in informing us that we didnt need to rush.
