A nice clean beautiful ParkI grew up in the neighborhood and this part was the centerpiece of Attraction for me as a child especially since it was only three blocks away. Nice to walk in it again the design is pretty much the same as it was but is definitely a welcome experience to see itPark brings back a lot of memories from childhood to adult thank you whoever remodeling and design this Park is indeed a pleasure to see it again and walk on it
A small park but because of that, it’s really nice and intimate. It has a dog park, basketball courts, baseball fields, children’s playground, many flights of stairs which can be used for personal cardio workouts, and my personal favorite, the “waterfall” area. Many entrances/exits too.
Such a wonderful place to go for a walk either with family ,friends or just by yourself. It is not a big park but it is a perfect spot to scape from the noises in the city. Now it has the statue of liberty. She will be at the 120th street entrance. . Do not forget to follow me 😊🤗enjoy your visit to this new attraction there .
This park is so underrated. If sitting by a pond full of wildlife sounds good to you, then this is the place for you. There are also plenty of more secluded trails in a lush forest that makes you forget that you live in a city.
This is a great park. Its clean and it has several parks. Theres a water park that opens in the summer. They also have swings and one basketball court. There are several slides, monkey bars and they have a tire swing. They also have public bathrooms. Highly recommended for families.
Just moved to Manhattan and was looking for a park to make me forget about the city for a minute or 2. So glad someone recommended this park to me. The nature, wildlife, waterfall, history, just everything about it was a breath of fresh air in the bustling city.
Beautiful park with a lot of space for everyone .. just had a problem with when I was exploring the upper morningside part was dirty with filled garbage 🗑 bags .. just need some sprucing up and the park will be complete

A very beautiful unique park with many different cool spots to relax. Subway near to it could use some better management though, I think.
One of my favorite parks in the city. It offers a casual stroll or climb the six stories of stairs for a more vigorous workout. Grilling in summer and sledding in winter. All courtesy of the NYC Park and Rec.
Enjoy birding at this park! Many geological features as well. Great place for slow walks and seeing signs of spring!

A nice park, its really pretty and has a lot of places to hang out at, do sports, have a barbecue or a picnic, anything I guess.
This Park is a hidden gem, in wintertime or anytime! The historic stairs and rock walls, the pond, meandering paths and wildlife are all fabulous.
One of New Yorks many parks. This one is located close to Columbia University. The lay out id somewhat different than other parks, as it is long and narrow. It has some nice stairs with good views from the top. A popular place for running and dog walking. Like the nearby Riverside Park, this has a wild feel.
One of my parks that I can relax, read and watch the kids play or picnic with a friend. It is so much more to this park.

Its a beautiful park all year round and has multiple play areas and places to relax, even a dog park! It can serve as a really good shortcut to places like the library or pinkberry, but during allergy season its a bad idea to go- short story short, flowers and pollen everywhere. Also bugs, wild cats and exotic birds that escaped from the zoo.. all of this is still a great sight to see.
Beautiful scenery and quiet walk. Lots of dogs but was not an issue all on leashes. The parks department has a strong presence and manages the park well the police have a meeting area at top of park where I saw sts. Signing officers books meaning strong PD presence aswell. Clean and well kept a nice local oasis of nature. Highly reccommend for quiet walks and reflections by the turtle pound at 110 st. It was frozen when I visit but I know I have seen them sunning.
Great playground at 123rd and Morningside Ave. With spider pyramid, swings, slides, and several water fountains in the summer. Tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas are next to it. Plenty of benches and picnic tables. You can easily spend two hours here with your little ones after school or on a lazy weekend afternoon!
Park in West Harlem and we took a walk here to see reclining Statue of Liberty. Nice trek on a warm sunny day and we saw locals enjoying this park.
Nice park
This park is better named as the Park of a Million Stairs...jeez, so many steps to traverse to go between levels. The pathways are dirty and dusty...forgotten. The one view that is noteworthy is that of St. John the Divine’s rear east side.

This place is such a hidden gem 💎 in NYC! Morningside Park is the perfect place to explore and unwind while avoiding the crowds at Central Park. The park had playground, ponds, and even a waterfall! 🏞 I wish I visited this place more often!

I live right across the street. Its a beautiful site. Not loud or overwhelming. Just beautiful to wake up to and take in the view first thing in the morning 🌄Starts my day off great.

Really nice hidden jewel. Ducks, wildlife and air. You can play bball, workout or walk in circles like me. Playground too.
All year long I come here to just relax and breathe. Plus the geese, turtles, and dogs walking by are so much fun to watch and take photos of.
A great shortcut to get to the Westside of Manhattan. As well, these stairs climbing up to Columbia university are certainly a good workout.
The basketball court is fixed and the playground is repaired. Come and enjoy the park and dont forget to bring the young ones too.

Very nice park and a couple of great playgrounds for the kids. Very close to the stunning Columbia University. Great views if you walk up that way.

Went to check on my girl Lib, and she wasnt having the best day. By the time we left she was standing and singing, again.
Only here for the reclining statue of liberty. The park is also huge I’ve seen a lot of people doing their birthday parties there and it is also a good place to jog and bike

Its a nice and small park just minutes away from Central Park but it has its own beauty. Every Saturday and Sunday it is common to find people barbecuing and having fun with their family.There is also a small pond and a baseball practice area which makes this park suitable for all ages!
I live next door to this park and, with Luna, visit almost every day. Its a special place but needs improvements and TLC. NYC is now building new basketball courts and just resodded the playing fields. Still, the upper level needs better lighting and litter pick ups. Too many visitors leave trash, sadly. The dog run is well maintained.
When I was a child, the monkey bars are where I had the most fun. Glad I was able to share with my nephew a similarly exhilarating experience with the cargo net/ropes climb that was put in a few years ago. Believe its called 123 playground. Seemingly safer than the bars we climbed. Good times...
My children have a good time playing in the park. The park has equipment to help build their motor skills. Also parents are in the park WITH their children.
They’ve really cleaned up this park. A lot of kids playing and activities going on. It’s great for running and walking. There a lot of basketball hoops to play some ball. Ascetically it is very beautiful and if you stand on the Morningside Ave side of it you get a great skyline view of Harlem...great for pictures.
What is there to say? Iconic well groomed park north of the upper west side with great views of the Palisades. I was disappointed Grants Tomb is undergoing maintenance but otherwise standard Morningside Park experience.
Great park. Track around field is in desperate need of repaving. Not sure why the Parks Department didnt do this while we were quarantined. .
Nice park in the middle of the city. I saw many families having picnics everywhere. Enjoyable walk in the park.
This park is So beautiful. Its very clear. The childrens playground is big and the facilities are good.
Beautiful, little known park spanning UWS and Haarlem. Three physical fitness trails for beginners to fit runners. This park is a true Hidden Gem of NYC! Despite the extreme northerly location, it is still a very desirable place to live. The park is surrounded by high-rise apartment blocks, which contribute clean and modern lines to a vista which also contains the baroque architecture of St. John the Divine Church. This theophilic edifice is truly impressive in size, complexity, and sheer...cathedral-ness! It is partially visible from all areas of the park, in some places peeking out from behind the treeline. It is absolutely worth the effort to hike up the hill to visit. This park is well-used throughout the day, by moms/dads with strollers and especially by various canines out walking their humans in the morning and evening, along with many physically fit young people running for their health or away from aggressive panhandlers. Just kidding: the panhandlers are pretty fast and hard to outdistance! Take the B or C train to 110th Cathedral Park and have yourself a pleasant constitutional.

Lovely park. Be aware—there are a lot of stairs on the west side of the park. So it will not be fully accessible to everyone. But it is a nice green space. Doesn’t seem very crowded, especially compared to Central Park. If you’re looking for a nice place to take a stroll, this is where you need to be.

Some great spots to take pictures. Love the lake. Always some event. In winter with snow is a lot of fun. Worse than Riverside Drive and central park. Avoid during night.
It is a very nice park. A short walk down from the A train . Theres shrubbery , nice equipment for children to play on and sufficient space for social distancing. I was invited to the park for a Celebration of Life for my college friend . It is in an centralized area, easily accessible and a very nice place . I also saw several people walking their puppies. It is a really pleasant place .
It is a local safari place where anthropoids that survived till our times through our generosity, can be seen and their behavior studied from distance and with appropriate precautions.
It is avery nice daytime oasis, but can be very dangerous at dusk or nighttime.Do NOT enter the park as the sun is going down.Unfortunately, this is still accurate.
Wow what a building. Takes up the while city block and it. Continues. Also the history of the building. The funny part Im surprised the local. Neighborhoods college didnt purchase it like it. BOught everything else in the area

This is my second time inside Morningside Park. There was so many cookouts going on yesterday. It was so peaceful and loving. Everybody just enjoying themselves. The park is huge a nice stroll around the park is a good workout.

Its beautiful but needs touch up, is usually crowded during day time and not always easy to find parking.
Honestly I prefer Morningside Park over Central Park. Its lesser known, so its quieter and has less people. We went twice over our week stay in NYC, and we were delighted to find many turtles (pictured) the first time and a beautiful crane and a cat the second visit. There are multiple sports fields for basketball and baseball in addition to a playground and lots of open grass. This could also be great for exercising as path mileage is posted on signs every 1/8 mile, and there are tons of stairs to trample up and down.
Love this park. Some say its dangerous and sketchy, but Ive always found this place to be relaxing and great people-watching. Lots of locals hanging out talking, eating & just sheer enjoying the reprieve which is Morningside Park. A New Yorkers retreat and haven from the citys hustle & bustle.

Lovely little park with plenty of things to do. From childrens playgrounds to basketball courts and ball fields and well maintained walking/jogging paths.
Wonderful place to play in the winter, the hill at the south end of the park is great for sledding.
Love, love, love this neighborhood park! In one avenue width and stretching from 110th to 123rd, our park packs in four playgrounds, three sprinkler/water features parts for hot summer days, bathrooms at 117th and 123rd, and enough grassy areas with trees (blocking enough buildings) to have moments to forget the city is a few yards away. There is even a duck/turtle/goose pond with a waterfall and benches to sit and absorb the beauty of nature as turtles glide by and people picnic!Note the 113th street playground is best for the 3yrs and under kids. And there is a Starbucks at the corner of 110th and Manhattan ave for when bathrooms may be seasonally closed.
Great park with dog run and a sick calisthenics area. Very good equipment if your into bodyweight exercise (pull up bars, parallel bars, rings, etc.).
A little too far uptown to go to as there are other parks further down, but I can see why it’s here for people who live all the way uptown. It’s a smaller version of a larger park on Riverside Drive, but with way more people. While parts of the park looked nice, the bottom of the hill seemed a little sketch—the opposite from the top of the hill from Morningside & W 120th. I only came here to check out the sculpture of the reclining Statue of Liberty. Other than that, it’s dog friendly and there weren’t any tourists (yet) wandering the park.
Beautiful and wild. Designed by Olmstead - one of upper Manhattans best kept secrets. Try to find the waterfall!

The renovations that were done to the 123rd st. (morningside) section of the park is amazing. My all time fav is the swings, and it course the rope climbing. My daughter loves this park. Would def recommend 👌 👍
Lived in the area for over 20 years, there have been major improvements over that time and has made the experience more enjoyable for me. Accessible to handicap as well as young children, many places to explore as well as for pets to. Great place to hang out.

It is a pretty big park. There are lot of areas with different things to do. They have a green market at the south end and a large childrens playground at the north end.
Theres fortified beauty, RIP to the Many whom lost their lives there. Deep, that park has its dangers too.

It was a very rewarding experience I grew up going to Morningside Park and now to see it with pelicans and turtles and fish in a little late actually when we was at a young age that late wasnt even there but anyway it still was a good experience and I love going to the park.
Park is great for familys to spend time with each other. You can have anything from a birthday party to a bbq or even a picnic. It is also great for first dates.
A good park to sit back and relax. Bring the dog the the dog park. Never transportation and very nice and clean area to be in

A beautiful place where you can enjoy a picturesque scenery while having a meal on one of the side walk seats . The park has plenty of activities basketball and football areas in addition to a walking path between that beautifull landscape .
This is a lovely park with some interesting public art.
Its a nice park to take a walk through but its full of rats. You can hear them rustling through the grass when youre sitting at the benches. Visit during the day when there is less rodent activity smh.
If only to visit the turtle pond, its well worth it. Theres also the year round farmers market on the corner of Morningside and Cathedral. Very kid friendly and a great place for a walk. If you really want a workout there are plenty of stairs to climb. During the day its a quiet place to sit and read or meditate.
Morningside Park is a little gem, a lapidary unity of nature and artifice. I can go there to escape briefly the pressures of my existence without feeling engulfed by the wild, for the reassuring presence of the surrounding streets and buildings is always visible. A fast walk along the parks perimeter makes for pleasant exercise.

Beautiful historic scenery with a flare for artistic, statuesque pieces as well. Great place to go to or even just to travel/cross through if you are coming from Columbia/Mt. Sinai to Manhattan Avenue headed East.

Huge park, great for jogs, walking your dog, has many playground areas for kids to play, Great in the morning wouldnt stay there late, a lot of people in need of a shelter are not too far away from the park approximately 10 blocks or so just beware of surroundings
One of the nicest parks in Harlem..waterfall and ballfields.the fields get really muddy. Need better plumbing and irrigation system.
Market is small but has some decent stuff but the big draw for those who like to recycle is the green tree textile recycling. You can donate material not for resale such as damaged clothes towels, sheets, socks and underwear and even old unuseable shoes. Theyll convert them into reusable raw materials. Theyll also take your clothes that are still useful for reuse. Theyll do the separating but Id hand them in separate bags and write on outside those that are more likely rags.
Great for a bunch of activities. There is a fair bit of crime in the park. I would suggest not going in alone after dark and be aware of your surroundings if you are in the more remote areas.
I like the mother nature rocks showing!.No bathrooms are around which is not good.

This amazing park is great for walking your dog, or for some great excercise. Trees provide shade throughout the paths. For relaxation, the water is btfl too. One downside, if youre not an expert stair climber you might find yourself struggling while maintaining balance at these rickety stairs throughout the park. Unfortunately, its not wheelchair accessible either. If your young or have a steady balanced walk this is the perfect place.

I do my Tai Chi Chuan exercises here every morning. Great park for anything that comes to mind, just dont stay there alone on late nights.
Great farmers market. Delicious food picks, from breads, cheeses to pickles and Indian foods, veggies as far as the eye can see.Gorgeous flowers to pick up any interior or as a nice gift. Artisan Scarves, one of a kind T-shirt & mugs. A fun trek in the neighborhood. Great way to support independent farmers, small businesses and Artists.

A lot of steps to climb to One of the best vantage points in upper Manhattan. Plus playgrounds and other recreation areas and just patches of grass to lay down and relax in a busy city. theyre doing lots of restoration summer 2020 so hopefully some great things will come out of that too.
Security beef up but please remember this park was once called moggingside park. Its still possible for this to take place because its a large park. Do not let your guards down especially late at night this park rules should be abided by closed at dust, for a reason.
Very family friendly... my nieces live in the neighborhood and played in the park there when they were younger. We still go there weve had picnics, rode bikes and taken walks. Theyve improved the park a lot since. Very beautifully done! They could have renovated the bathroom as well seeing that it needs improvement
Beautiful park, steep steps. Only place to find free parking as it was a hospital zone. Had to go to a doctor there.
Enjoyed going to the doggy 🐕 park that is in Morningside Park. I never saw so many well behaved dogs. It was a very good thing to witness and really made my day!
Its a nice park to take a walk in. There is a nice pond to watch the birds and turtles. You can bbq and enjoy doing things with family. Im only giving it 4 stars because of the playground that has been delayed and not built yet.
This park is pretty good for all age. A few new play areas have been created since lasy year. I guess the only complaint would be non park visitors standing around the park area smoking which is Not healthy for children. Overall the park is clean and family oriented.

Lovely park with a nice running trail! The park features a beautiful pond alongside a small waterfall that contains an abundance of wildlife. On a warm summer day around 6pm you can sometimes see a white Crane that perches below the waterfall or nestles in the tree overlooking the pond. The pond also contains a bunch of turtles with red lines on their heads that swim throughout. Towards the evening time youll also be met by fireflies that flash and dance along the trail. At the back of the park youll find a childrens playground and as you come closer to the middle youll find basket and racket ball style courts and at the other end a large open area with a baseball field. This is a wonderful park with some amazing features! Definitely worth a visit!

This is our neighborhood park. We love running in the park all the time and its just a great place to be in general. Sometimes it can get a little Rowdy in the summertime when the weather is nice and theres 15 or 16 different picnics going on at once
Think there are 3 playgrounds in Morningside Park, I know of 2. We enjoyed the one right off of 116th street, the childrens playground was decent. The one we were at isnt really that great for 2 and under but my 2 y/o and his 3 y/o friend really enjoyed themselves. They have an interesting splash pad for the summer days. But if you have older kids, it seems like 1 park is for the above 5 year olds, not sure but it had higher things to climb on. Absolutely Worth the visit either way.
Easy to overlook the variety of trees... the park really is an arboretum. 🙂But everyone enjoys the pleasant vibe, nice gardens, and variety of attractions available -- something for everyone.
Nice park , specially if you want to walk your dog. They have a very small dog run, but my dog hurt his leg there one time with some of the wall retaining wood that sticks out of the ground. There is always police presence because of they have a homeless population but then again so those the whole city. The park is very clean & well maintained
The Fourth of July was quiet people social distanced in Groups security from police was nice they made grills go down but they let us relax for hour more...
Parks are just the best - lucky to have them! Plenty of green space, walking paths, and benches.
Currently under some construction in one of their bigger playgrounds yet still worth a visit. This is a perfect park to take a walk, jog, or run through. There are markers around the park to let you know how far youve run. A few awesome playgrounds line the bottom of Morningside that your little ones will love. There is also a field for sports right next to a beautiful lake. If you have a pup dont forget to stop by their awesome dog park to get a quick drink of water or to meet some new friends.
The part of this park allow to cross the park from 116th Street and Morningside Ave to Mount Sanaï Hospital and Columbia Université.
Beautiful park with plenty of space to picnic and see the views. This park is very scenic. A bit of a hike to and from, but that is part of the experience. You can even sit on the beach of the Hudson.
This is a great park to bring the family to have fun. There are play grounds for children. Adults can ride bicycles with their kids, play basketball and other sports. There are public restrooms and water fountains available. The only bad thing is that I wouldnt recommend anyone to hang out at this park by themselves after 9:pm.
I love Morningside Park easy walk and I love the cathedral
The water part of the park is GREAT for chidren under 10 years of age. There are stores in close walking distance. Parents look after their children, they(children) are not left unattended, properly watch/always supervised correctly.

Stunningly aesthetic park, impressive flora, family friendly, currently patrolled (May 22, 2020), very big and yet somehow easy to overloook.the uptown side is a little rougher than the downtown side. uptown side is not safe at night, particularly in colder seasons.
I take My Grandchildren often. 123rd st- 110th St The Many Playgrounds Along the 13 block stretch & Places to eat & Socialize...... A Great Place to Visit frequently.
Relaxing shady place to walk and chill out.
Its close to food and interesting activities, which is why I usually end up there, and the seating is plentiful enough that theres never a problem. The waterfall and overview seats are spectacular, and the playgrounds always seem to be active and safe. However, there are a lot of steps, and not much to see at the lower level. Moreover, theres barely any shade or trees, and the grass and fields always seem to be broken up and dirty. Some of the fences are broken, and I would not trust some of the stairs. Not the best or most attractive park, but certainly a nice place to sit for a little bit and observe the city.
Did not get to see the whole park. We sat in our carry on chairs and chatted away. It was quiet on the Morningside Avenue side.
Nice small park. Lots of stairs for a good work out. Sadly not everyone abides by the *take out what you bring in* golden rule. This is not the time to think that someone else will take care of it. There is no one else.
One of my favorite parks in the city. Newly remodeled in the pst few years and has plenty of space for every activity. Football, basketball, multiple playgrounds, dog park and a steps galore to work out on.
Specifically went to see the Reclining Liberty art installation, but found the park to be a great place to hang out and relax.
This place brings back a lot of memories for me as I grew up in this neighborhood. I used to come here often with my mom and brother for picnics in the summer under the shade. Its quiet and quaint in the winter but buzzing with activity in the summer. Autumn is best when the park is covered in colorful foliage. At the end of the park is a pond with turtles and fish in it. Over the years I noticed an increase of waterfowl that are overstaying their welcome because people are overfeeding the birds with an unnecessary diet. They in return will defecate more. Their fecal matter is a breeding grounds for bacteria and disease. Its also just unsightly. In addition to that, any left over food is surely and slowly destroying the natural ecosystem of the pond. Please take care of your local park and STOP FEEDING THE BIRDS.

I strolled through Morningside Park on a recent Summer day simply to get off the busy and hot summer streets.I was so pleasantly surprised to see that most of the construction and renovation work had been completed.The park was filled with shade from the huge trees covering the area. There were many families and friends picnicking and having parties. Children were playing in the fountains at the playground. Many others walked the trails and enjoyed the great landscaping and nature. A little oasis hidden in the midst of busy neighborhoods.
Love this park for bbq picnic to drinking a couple of cold ones like any city the rats and them damn mosquitoes will tear you up. People think Im crazy i wear long jeans to go over there. Doesnt matter them mosquitoes will get you anyways other than that its a dope park
Beautiful park with two great playgrounds. Theres a lot of the park that seems undeveloped -- not wild, not great for picnics, and not really suited for anything else. But thats really nitpicking, as its a beautiful place for people enjoying a moment of free time in a busy city

Got caught in the rain coming from Columbia University without an umbrella, but fortunately the ample foliage provided coverage and the strategically placed bench provided me with a place to sit while I waited out the rain. Very nice alternative to Central Park!

A long beautiful park thats great to go to anytime of the year. Theres a couple playgrounds inside it, as well as basketball courts, and Baseball fields too. Theres even a pond inside the park as well, where you can see geese hanging around. (For SOME reason someone removed the park from Google maps around Aug. 2016, so all images/reviews have been erased before that point.)
A very beautiful park filled with wildlife in its pond during their Summer seasons. You can see anything from cranes, geese, turtles, and fish in the pond. The park has three basketball courts, a paddle ball court, baseball field, four children’s parks (two with sprinklers), three bathrooms and plenty of grass and benches to sit on. There is even a dog park that was built a few years ago that you can use when you walk up the stairs of the park!

Nice park. Came here with a group of people for Memorial Day bbq during the weekend of. I got there 7am and already the tables for the bbq were all taken! On holidays its first come first serve so you dont need a permit. The park is spacious and the playground area is amazing. It was so hot that day, I went under the fountain to cool off. However after 8pm, I suggest you leave. The park got super crowded with suspicious people (for lack of better words). Like 100 people showed up out of nowhere after the sunset. They were smoking weed and just being loud. My group and I were already packing up when the other people started coming. By 9pm we were happy to be done and heading out. We werent being paranoid. The cops at the park had already warned us earlier in the day that there was a shooting the year before. So yeah theres that. But like said, great park. Definitely visit. Lots of hidden gems. Just leave after sunset.
Clean pathways to stroller or jog. Abundance of childrens parks made it easy to not settle for an overcrowded situation. Only drawback are the limited access points for strollers or wheelchairs. They are there, but you have to walk about a block from staircase access points.
Love this park! Beautiful paths great playgrounds. Miss living across the street from it! Definitely recommend

It’s a great park! HOWEVER if you think you want to go here on a Saturday with family to have a picnic this is the wrong place to do. It’s beyond crowded and every 5 feet there’s another BBQ with competing music
I wasnt here very long, and I dont live particularly nearby, so my experiences were limited - I was here for several hours assisting in a headshot (photo) session. Im not familiar with the park, but the photographer was, so I suppose one could assume I saw some pretty spots, and that I got a decent impression of this place as a result. Just knowing that the park was used as the backdrop for high quality photos could tell you that it is a pretty park. Lots of paths to walk, and steps to help with the cardio, if thats what youre into. We saw a small waterfall, with dozens of small turtles and a handful of ducks. Some geese were also roaming around. Not a bad place to kill some time if you like being around greenery.

Morningside Park is very beautiful and quiet. It isnt as overcrowded as Central Park, which means you can enjoy it with far less of a crowd.The park is very clean and the staff works hard to maintain it in great condition.
Morningside Park is a nice park for a daily stroll, to enjoying an event or family gathering. From 123rd street to 110th street this park is filled with beautiful gardens, bird and turtle sanctuary. Theres a wonderful dog run. The park is set up with signs to inform you on how to turn your walk into a workout at different levels. BBQ picnic areas are complete with picnic tables and charcoal deposit bins. There are so many paths , exits and entrances, restrooms from the beginning the end of the park. I can continue because this park is never the same twice all year round.
I like the improvements made to the park.
My grandchildren are in the spectrum and the playground on 122nd street entrance was very accommodating and explorative for them. They were able to transition from one area to the next with ease. It was awesome to see swings for the disabled children to enjoy. I am truly thankful for the thoughtfulness in the Parks design.

This is an absolutely breath taking park. It isnt as heavily trafficked as Central Park, which means you can enjoy it with far less of a crowd. It also has a lot of trees which makes it a nice spot in the summer in terms of shade.
Cute park to take the kids for an afternoon activity in the city. But, as with every other city park, the bathroom is undesirable, there are no workers around, and the homeless use the park and bathroons as their homes. This speaks more about the homeless problem in NYC rather than anything else. But the playground area is clean enough to bring the kids. Just make sure they use the bathroom before you go and once is time to hydrate ( and this will happen fast since the play area is totally exposed to the sun) you are ready to head out....unless you dont mind city park public bathrooms.
Pretty good place 2 sit in summer months. Lots of events taking place during this time. One thing i will say is people have 2 use better judgement when it comes to visiting this and other parks in the city. After 6pm and beyond parks in general not great places to be in secluded areas of the city. SAFTY first

2022-05-13A wonderful park in a wonderful part of town. Everyone has their own unique perspective on things, but I personally find that the Morningside area is such a great representation of the upper half of the island. When you explore the area around this beautiful park youll find amazing and diverse architecture, culture, food, people, shops, and everything in between. While youre at the park be sure to walk up the stairs on the northwest side to the top, and follow the sidewalk south(ish - towards central park) to the statue for the best views. From there youll be able to see the rooftops and buildings of almost all of Central and East Harlem, making it one of the very best views in all of Manhattan, and although its wildly different from the scenery youll get from the observation decks downtown, this one doesnt cost you a dime, and its equally as rewarding because it gives you such a big look at what lies beyond Central Park.

2022-03-16A long thin park that’s half on a hill. The high side has lots and lots of stairs and meandering trails through the trees with views above and along giant stone walls. The lower, flat side has picnic tables and places to grill, a playground and athletic facilities, a sculpture of Lady Liberty reclining, and benches by a lovely little pond with a dramatic view of the cathedral up above.

2021-09-28Lovely park. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was full of children, families, etc. The slopes and staircases offer excellent views and a hilly charm rarely found in Manhattan.That’s said, it’s impossible to ignore the dangerous reputation, as folks are seemingly getting stabbed here monthly…So… great park in the day and with friends, but avoid solo, ESPECIALLY after dark.

2021-08-18First visit today after finding this beautiful place.I found it quite magical,fresh green trees,old stone surroundings and steep steps,the reclining Liberty,nice energy.A perfect place to zone out solo.Not sure of the lake,its very green but the wildlife are very healthy and happy 💚

2022-05-24Wonderful woodsey park, the birds are plenty and create an “away from it all” feeling. The trails are not too strenuous but can be up hill. There are a lot of tall trees making it quite cool and shady. There aren’t a ton of benches inside so be prepared to search for some. I personally love my parks tree filled so this one hit the spot. Can never have too much green in my eyesight. I’ll come back for more walks in the woods.
