Heres a local neighborhood treasure. Great menu. One of the best salads Ive had in town. Its a husband and wife team and the menu has many Greek dishes and the specials always sound interesting.
This was the best experience Ive had in a long time the service is oh so friendly,food is wonderful prices are decent. Cannot wait to take my family there as my visit was with friends. Will be eating there more often

Literally the best veggie omelette Ive ever had! You could tell the veggies were fresh, and not from a can. So delicious! Really affordable and worth every penny!
Super cute , homey, breakfast place. Cash only, and a basic menu of Greek foods and diner favorites that are really really well done. I included a picture of the bill to show how cheap it is. This will be a staple in my diner repertoire.
A marvelous little place for breakfast or lunch. We stopped in after a noon concert at church. I had the tuna sandwich lunch special. Plentiful and pleasant. Wife had horiatiki (traditional Greek salad). Generous portion and great tasting. Adding to our regular stops during the week.
Best Greek people in Rochester friendly, great food, good price. Maria is so sweet! The Greek breakfast options are amazing, but even the Benedicts are awesome. Fresh fruit, good coffee, ALWAYS read the specials board. It is solid gold. Real Greek yoghurt with honey and nuts? a must.

Great family owned local greek restaurant. Amazing breakfast and lunch. I definitely recommend the feta gyro omelet and the chicken soup.

Nice waitress but it was noon and we wanted lunch and the she was afraid to ask the cook to make us anything that wasnt on the breakfast menu. We got lunch but it took an hour.

2022-05-23Morningstar is a bit of a hidden gem in Rochester and one of a handful of Greek diners left around. The food is excellent and the service is very personable. I love having an easy spot in the neighborhood that I can pop into for a quick bite. No frills, just exactly what I need. And don’t forget cash! No credit cards accepted here.

2022-06-21My service dog and I were greated in a somewhat chilly manner. I almost felt unwelcome. I admit to being sensitive when it comes to my service dog. But most people who have them are.The food was good and on time. My meal with my friend was very pleasant. Additionally, the place was very clean though.

2017-11-04Ostensibly a Greek restaurant, the Morning Stars menu is more akin to a classic American diner with Greek food also scattered throughout. You can get omelettes, a Reuben sandwich, and Spanikopita all at once. My wife had an apple cinnamon French toast which was delicious, including big apple chunks baked into the bread. I had a classic Gyro with fries and a Greek coffee. Everything was very tasty, and not much more than youd pay per person at a McDonalds. Whats keeping them from being 5 star is the constricting hours, they close at 2:30pm, and they are cash only which makes going there an extra hassle in a day when most places let you pay with your phone now, or at least a card, and fewer people are carrying cash.

2021-01-12Delicious breakfast food, well and thoroughly cooked and definitely with more quality than other breakfast places and diners in the area. Great owners and fast service. I wish they werent limited to just cash payments only though. They would work well with grubhub and doordash if they offered it. Definitely will tell more people about this gem in the Merchants area.

2019-06-18Cute family-owned place, cash only, diner food with Greek influence. The food tasted good and was well cooked, and the side of home fries I ordered was huge. The specials on the board seemed like they might feed an army. The host was very friendly and the place seemed to have regulars; during our visit there were two large tables of people who appeared to know the owners. Three stars because while all of the above is true, the place sort of had a cheaper feel to it (yes, its a diner, but even so) and my French toast was made with store-bought white bread which wasnt very flavorful. I would go again and order something different, but wont seek it out.

2021-05-15We JUST discovered Morningstar!!! We definitely will be returning - yummy home made food and spotlessly clean. It was very apparent they have many regulars. Morningstar is on our favorites list!

2017-10-24Wait staff is wonderful, in fact charming. Food is quality diner type, but you always,know who s cooking with pride and experience. Nice plants... I d .call it a cafè diner with delicious home made desserts in a bright setting with plants.
