Motel 6 Amherst, NY - Buffalo in Buffalo
I booked this place because of a last minute trip. Will not come back to this motel. It was dirty. Underneath the beds were dust and an old pair of earbuds that did not belong to us. Our room was non-smoking but we smelled smoke in 1 of our rooms. The other room we booked, didnt smell smoke at all. Its too bad because the staff that I met upon checking, were really nice. Location was a convenient. For the price, we could go someplace else. Not to mention they charged me twice & at a higher price, for the same rooms. They must not have communicated between staff, that I paid the moment I checked in.
Room was to be expected. Was not very nice, but pretty clean. We had a queen room, but was given a full sized bed. Mattress was squeaky and they only gave us two pillows. When we asked for two more we were given one. The highway could be heard from the room and it was bright inside, even when curtains were closed. The water pressure in the sink was a slight trickle. Shower had a constant leak, that was audible all night from the bed. There were yellowish stains on the shower/tub. There was no comforter on the bed, we had a fleece blanket between two sheets. All of this being said, the worst part was by far the service. Upon arriving they told us there would be a $20 fee because our booking through hotels.com said there was one person staying here and the room was for myself and my girlfriend. While walking by the desk I heard atleast two other groups of people have the same issues. This was on top of the already inflated $205 for the night. There wasnt anyone to check us out, so hopefully I do not get hit with another fee.
I know you can’t expect much from a motel 6 but this is one of the dirtiest ones I’ve ever experienced. Burn holes in the sheets and blankets of non smoking rooms. Dirty tubs. Dog hair on sheets and floors and towels. Only one rag and towel in double bedroom. And when asked for more sheets and blankets they had attitudes or didn’t have anymore. That right there let’s me know they don’t change linen. Mold on the ceilings. I could see if the rooms were cheaper then it would make more sense. I would not waste my time. You might leave with something you didn’t come with.
Yes the rates were cheaper than all the neighboring places. But I was willing to pay more after the stay. Only thing good were the clean sheets and towels. Wifi is horrible, no daily room service, no complimentary shampoo conditioner lotions, floors and other places have lots of stains
It’s the one of the worst motel I have lived. Table and everything is covered with dust. The toilet and bath tubs are not clean. Looks like they don’t have the elevator(I will find out and update it later). The shower was n my room does not work properly. Due to the low water pressure in the shower, you have to spend longer time to take shower than usual.
First of all no one wants to stay in Buffalo, if you find yourself there overnight, I imagine most are like me, and it’s because you had to. For whatever reason, your trip got delayed there. To be honest I’m not going out of my way to pay for a nice hotel in Buffalo cause the minute I get up, I’m leaving. However this motel was alright for a motel 6. City (real city) prices, still the cheapest, room was clean but no microwave or mini fridge. The beds are average not that comfy but you can sleep. They did accept cash!
The room smelled of stale smoke, beds are very uncomfortable. Room was dirty. There in no carpet so the beds moved so easy. So why they couldnt sweep or vacuum under them I dont know. I also found a dirty, used, nasty q-tip behind the night stand. And it noisy. I will never recommend Motel 6 to anyone.
This is THE most disgusting place I have ever payed to stay at. There was literally trash in the room; on the window sill, the bathroom floor, in the drawers. There was hair in the sheets. Specks. Lots of specks. If you need somewhere to stay on a long term basis, this place might be accommodating.
The staff was really nice. The room was clean, the bed was ok for the price, and TV and channels exceeded the expectation. It matched the investment, being a good budget hotel. There was no problem with the bedroom at all. The only issue was other guests and noise. I couldnt sleep until I was exhausted because there were loud thumps in a bedroom every other minute, loud talks, loud TV everywhere and people never stopped going in an out until 1-2 am.One portion of the hallway and the stairs area near the vending machine really smelled like Marijuana as someone else said in a review, and those doors were left open all day until around 11 pm, open again at maybe around 7-8 am, to ventilate, even though it was very cold. The contract said it would not take any responsibility for cars in the lot, or anything in the room, so I did not like that. There was no safe in the bedroom. The feeling of safety was low. Therefore, 3 stars for getting what you pay for, but some things could improve in that value range, like the sheets that were not smooth, the bed cover that had a burnt mark, and a silent hours that must never be violated, and if so, the guests must be removed. Hope there was no long term stay options for them. I have stayed in modest motels that were much nicer, despite lacking the same safety features, which gave me much more value for the money.Next time I will consider other options first, even if it means paying more.
Very friendly service, clean room, quiet, pet friendly. Bed was stiff but overall stay was pleasent. Close to many things and food deliveries came right to lobby and we had to pick up from there. Will recommend to anyone looking for a pet friendly and affordable stay!!!
Initially we were apprehensive about booking a room at this specific Motel 6 due to the negative reviews that we read. Regardless of these reviews, we decided to go through and rent a room due to their amazing pet policy as they were one of the only places that didnt charge an extra fee and they allowed dogs of all sizes. In addition, you still need to take into consideration that it only costs 50 dollars a night to stay with no extra fees. The motel offered a wide range of amenities including complementary coffee. The front desk service was amazing as well and the guy was extremely accommodating. Our room was cleaner than we expected it to be and it smelled fresh. All in all, we would recommend this place if youre looking for a pet and budget friendly accommodation with no bells and whistles attached.
Room is poorly maintained. There is water damage in the bathroom floor, have to push very hard to open door and need to replace key card everyday. Internet is so bad that it takes minutes to just check some news or map or book your next stop, had to drive to UB to do some remote work. Soundproof is so bad that you can hear what people next door are talking about, and or course if they tried to have some pleasure at night. There is a construction site beside the hotel so you dont need any alarm on weekday mornings. Also despite hotel is listed as having laundry, it seems that it is only limited to housekeeping use.
Front desk lady was very rude and doesn’t even speak good you can’t understand her and she makes you feel like your not speaking right to her and she would hang up on you. Just wanted to talk about me getting my deposit back which I never received and she wants to tell me that I received it. Horrible don’t recommend going too.
This is our 2nd stay at this Motel 6. The cost is excellent, the hotel is clean and is well located. This stay was even better than last time. The Hotel Manager Amanda is an excellent Manager. with an outgoing personality. She takes time to interact with the guests and ensures she recognizes deserving staff. The staff we interacted with with extremely pleasant and willing to accommodate our needs. We will be returning in the near future and look forward to staying there again.
You get what you pay for. Run down and under new ownership. From the moment we arrived I should have to leave right away. The hallway smelled of marijuana every morning and evening. No refrigerator in the room. Our room was serviced two times in a week. Apparently if you leave anything on the bathroom counter, dresser or bed they will not clean your room. The sheets were never changed the entire stay.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience was horrible. We booked and were assured room 110 at time of reservation,a non-smoking room. Arrived in the evening only to be told that non-smoking rooms are first come - first serve and there were no non-smoking rooms available. This is absolutely no way to due business and treat customers who have taken the time to reserve a room and book ahead. They told us the only room available was in smoking section. We took it because we needed a place to stay and were only going to be there to sleep and figured we would make due. Upon arrival to the assigned room we found the room dirty and disgusting. The carpet was nasty (to the point where we were afraid to take our shoes off) and there were burn holes in the bed coverings and carpets. On top of that, the room(s) next to us were occupied by many individuals, clearly partying with loud music, and marijuana smoking. There is no way that hotel staff did not realize what was going on, as people just kept pouring into the room(s) and the smell of the marijuana was so strong it was unbearable both in the hallway and in our room. We absolutely could not stay there. The only positive was that when we went to the front desk and requested a refund, one was granted no questions asked. However, there was no mention of stopping what was happening on the second floor or any offer to make up for what they had done to us. We have stayed in many Hotels and private Motels. Never have we had such a horrible experience. I had resisted Motel 6 for fear of these very issues. Unfortunately, those fears were confirmed. This was our first time at a Motel 6 and most definitely our last time. Based on this awful experience, I find it hard to believe you can stay in Business. Just plain bad all around..........
Came here for my mothers birthday getaway. We originally booked a NON smoking, 2 queen bedroom room weeks in advanced (paid for). When we checked in around 7pm, the worker told us that all non smoking rooms + 2 queen beds were full and was told only SMOKING rooms were available. My family and I were extremely disappointed. You would think this company would have rooms reserved when you book and pay weeks in advanced.
My best friend and I have been staying in this motel on the weekends we work. It’s always the only one available and it’s very apparent why. There’s always something broken in the room, we’ve had our remote come up missing more than once (which I guess doesn’t make a real difference considering the TV barely works anyways). We once we’re given a room that still had people’s dirty clothes and underwear scattered on the floor. We book the room for two nights, Friday and Saturday, almost every weekend and it still seems as though no one alerts the housekeeping woman because she never fails to wake us up at 9 o’clock, even though we work until 4am. The staff seems like they don’t really know what’s left from right and the rooms are overpriced for the lack of service we seem to receive. Do better.
On check-in, the manager recognized our struggle with stairs and offered us a first floor room that worked out perfectly for us. Staff was very well trained, friendly, and eager to help us have a wonderful stay. Also appreciated the 2 comfortable Queen sized beds since other Motels tend to only offer 1 and sometimes just a full size bed.
Room was nice, clean and quiet. Smoking is allowed in parts of the hotel, the smell spreads to the non-smoking rooms, a definite negative. Clearly people smoking pot in some of the rooms as the hallway reeked of the smoke! Front desk clerk was nice and friendly. No shampoo or tissues offered in the rooms, the only chain hotel I have stayed at that does not offer those items. Due to smoking being allowed in the hotel, I will most likely not return, I will find a non-smoking hotel to stay at.
Hotel was nice, location convenient. Room was fine. Very easy to hear noise outside the room which kept us awake a lot of the night. Beware that the hotel has a policy where they will not guarantee your room selection (in this case non smoking) after the 3pm check-in, even when you put your credit card down to guarantee it. This policy was not outlined during the booking process on their website.
Booked multiple rooms for a couple days and stayed here. Heres what went wrong..1. check-in took more than 30 minutes. problem was with the systems and they were giving out keys to rooms that already was occupied by other customers. The person before me had to return 3 times before he was assigned an empty room.2. staff lady asked me for ID for every adult inspite of me telling that all rooms were on my name and i am responsible. there is no hotel policy that requires IDs for every adult in the room. The lady didnt ask IDs for other customers though, just me and thats discrimination.3. I was initially given a room that already had people.I had to return to desk to get another room.4. Room keys stopped working in evening and then another visit to the desk fixed it.5. hallways and mattress were stinking like cigar smoke or something even worse.6. There were drunk people sitting outside the room pointing towards our room window so we had to close curtains all the time.7. Socks and a few small items were missing on day 2 after housecleaning staff cleaned the room.8. I was found our room was assigned to someone even as we were staying in the room that day and next day. had to sort out with deskOverall, my worst hotel stay in recent times and I will not even tell my enemies to visit this sorry excuse for a hotel.Note that the reviewers praising this motel have only one review on their profile. Very suspicious.
Disgusting! The fire alarm had a bag over it. We had to clean the dust from ac unit vent... just for it to be half cool. No sticker on toilet seat proving its been cleaned for covid. We didnt even stay the night. Lost $62.00 but its better than that place. NEVER again.
When we first pulled up, outside wasnt bad. Inside lobby had horrible paint job. Desk clerk was nice. going up the stairs to our room - stench of beer and cigarettes was overwhelming. opened the door and felt like we stepped into the 50s. Think the bedding was that old - worn and yellowed. no mini fridge, no microwave, no shampoo, no hair dryer - only 2 small bars of soap and 2 towels. glad there was no rug in the room- sure this would have smelled as bad as the hallway. cheap plastic imitation wood floor - but probably much easier to clean. my husband takes a lot of medication - we left this in our suitcase under clothes. When we came back - and opened the suitcase, the bag of pills was on top. obviously someone had gone through the suitcase. very disappointed - will never choose a motel 6 again
The room was very basic in furniture and amenities but we only wanted it to sleep in. Some families might like a few more amenities if this is a vacation. The bed was comfortable and we were close to where we were wanting to go. Stores were also close by. The only bad thing we can say is they did not clean the bathroom the last night we stayed which was disappointing.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Our first room was clean. But when I closed the blinds I found a bed bug on the curtain. I caught it and brought it to the front desk. The manager was there and was as disgusted as I was. She got us a new room right away and assured us that someone from corporate would get a hold of us..She didnt offer a free night or anything which was fine because I figured corporate would do something. The second night we stayed I had a problem with our room key not working and the man who was as the desk was a bit rude. so The manager and other woman are great friendly people, but the man was not great. Rooms are clean other than the bed bug I found in the first room. The beds are hard. Im not sure if I would stay here again. only because the bug. Oh and corporate still has not gotten back to me :(
I found the hotel to be just great! The staff was excellent! Polite and helpful! The room was clean and well maintained. I thought I might be bothered by the noise from the thruway but it was a quiet room indeed. The only thing I can say to improve would be coffee makers in rooms. They do provide coffee from 6am till 12pm but sometimes you need coffee in the evening. I highly recommend this Motel. It is close to all you need. I will be staying here any time I am home in Buffalo. Thank you to all who work there!
I have stayed at this location many times in past 10 yrs and was very happy to see some major upgrades to both the inside and outside. It is a basic room so dont expect extras however it was clean, the grounds were well cared for and the front desk very friendly and helpful. Of course being dog friendly is a huge bonus, I only wish some owners were responsible and picked up after their dogs. It ruins it for the rest of us. Would definitely stay again. My only complaint is having to pay for wifi, it should be included in the price.
Great Motel with a Hotel feel. Staff was supwr friendly and was conveniently located. AC worked awesome and unlike a lot of Motels the doors are inside. Beds were clean and comfy, room was large, bathroom was normal and overrall safety was great. But hear my warning...if you wait to book they will sell out. The rooms go fast because its a nice place at the same price as a seedy joint up the street. Parking was easy also. Will return for sure, next time Im in the Buffalo/Niagara/Amherst area.
My family and I visited from Ohio for Memorial day weekend. The Motel 6 is normally not 1st choice but due ti hoilday we settled. We had GREAT hospitality from a young man named Murray. He was so helpful with directions to room service & all our needs. The rooms were nicely remodeled & clean looks from outside will trick you. If we visit again we will definitely stay at this Motel 6 in Amherst NY.
The front staff were great at handling our reservation that was messed up. We ended up going to another hotel after 2 nights, my husband is tall and they do not offer king sized beds. They were quick to handle some disruptive people staying next to us. Overall good, suggest an investment in king size beds.
Good location....the price is right......but the hotel could use some upgrades. Hallways are dark and gloomy. This hotel is a bare bones environment. Adequate....but making me wish I had spent the extra money and gone elsewhere. I made reservations in my name...and when my friend paid for his room on his own when checking in....he was charged less than me ....and I had signed up for the my 6 special rate. How is that possible. Again....not a bad hotel ....but it is only a bed and a cup of coffee in the lobby. Pretty drab environment overall.
Myself and my sister had a great stay. No problems at all. I called earlier in the day to say we would be arriving late and our room was there when we arrived. It was clean and not smoky at all, good as it was a non-smoking room.I have read some of the other reviews and have to wonder if they are talking about the same Motel 6 and/or how long ago they stayed there. We would go back again, close to the area we wanted to shop in, before we headed home. It was not fancy, but then we were not looking for fancy or expensive. Great value for the price.
Very clean remodeled modern room.we came with our minivan towing a boat and were able to park in a gravel lot near the first building. 6 or so spots available for combination vehicles excluding tractor trailers. The manager gave us a room adjacent to the lot. Only downside is no mini fridge and no microwave
We checked in pretty late and the young man at the desk was very polite and helpful. The room was OK. No carpet so things echoed and it was chilly. The toilet flushing was extremely loud and took a long time to stop running. No tissues or hair dryer, no alarm clock, and flat pillows. Overall it was an ok stay.
I would not recommend! I only stayed due to a Saturday and could not find anything else that had any rooms available. I almost wish I slept in my car, the price was 130.00 ( you get what you pay) the room was dirty, customer service was horrible and get one extra towel was a struggle and no iron, iron board or hair dryer in the room, you can get one from front desk but must leave drivers license with them.Lastly the shower pressure does not exist i get it they try to conserve on water but a good shower is very important.
I gave it 5 stars because its exactly what I paid for. I was 20 mins from the falls and walking distance to place to eat. I went with 3 kids we only used it to sleep. However the workers were very nice for the few times I saw then once check in once check out and once to ask a question. I would stay again it was clean right off highway and quite
We stayed in Amherst, NY, for two nights. Very good value, clean, quiet, and close to our event at the Buffalo Convention center. The bathroom facilities were spotless, and everything worked well. We even got out NE Patriots game on the TV! And the morning coffee was good! The staff was extremely courteous.
On the whole not a bad hotel. The rooms are very minimal and the bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows were very thin and the towels were rough. We could hear the people next door to us talking and laughing. The walls are very thin and there it was very noisy even thorough out the night. I would not recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet or a comfortable bed.
The water pressure, every time I took a shower faded in and out, it was really annoying. Secondly, my card would not always work and I had go to to the front desk to have it reconfigured so I could enter my room and other entrances on the property. Also, I am a Walmart employee and a customer service agent told me that I was eligible for a discount. I later called to verify this and I was told there was no discount applied. Finally, I spoke to a supervisor who said that my location was not excepting that particular discount. I found unfortunate that the supervisor did not offer anything for the inconvenience of having to call multiple time.
The sink drain was partially clogged, but the front desk was quick to resolve the issue. Overall, the room was clean and spacious (they removed a bed). The grounds were kept up with plenty of grass to walk out dog. The outside window didnt lock, but it had a stop about 4 inches in.
It was my first time traveling with my dog so I appreciated the Motel 6 being pet friendly. However, on my first walk with my pup, I saw a dead rat!! Yes, rat-not field mouse! It was in the field directly across from the main entrance.I was not happy with the other humans who have pets that did not pick up after their pets messes on the grounds around the motel. I would think that the motel maintenance staff of a pet friendly hotel might want to do a quick check around the entry ways anyway? I realize it says in the agreement to pick up after your pet, but apparently no one reads it. Perhaps providing a pet waste bag dispenser or two and a separate trash bin area for this specific purpose may keep things neater? The room was clean but I havent had such a lumpy, uncomfortable, spring squeaking with springs pushing thru the mattress since the 1980s. And the shower pressure was just barely above a trickle and I was on the ground level.Overall, not sure I would stay again unless there were absolutely NO other pet friendly
Stayed here with my family, will do it again, just with more understanding of what this location is. Dirty common areas were pretty bad. More than just normal foot traffic. There were quite a few verbal altercations between guests, but thats the guests, not motel. Clean sheets, room was nice, television worked fine.
Stayed for 2 nights for a girls shopping weekend.Pros: Room was decent and clean.Price was rightCentral to tons of shopping & restaurantsCons: Hall smelled like smoke that drifted down from the second floor smoking rooms.Front staff was not as knowledgeable as I would expect. No hair dryer or shampoo.Thin blanketsWifi is available at a cost - assumed it was included. All in all we were only there to sleep and it served its purpose. We would return in the future.
We stayed at this motel on 6/15 and then again on 6/19. I have also stayed here at least 7 or 8 other times. I have been satisfied with all my visits until 6/19. Our reservation was for the 18th however we were not able to make it to the hotel until 12:30 am. I was traveling with my daughter and 2 grand-daughters one is a 2 year old. Being very tired at that point of our journey home we just wanted to go right to bed. However the beds both had crumbs and dirt between the sheets. Sammy the very nice young man at the front desk apologized, and after he took care of some other guest finally was able to bring us some clean sheet. It was after 1 am before we were able to go to bed.The staff have always been very friendly and I will probably stay here again but that will be the last chance if the room or beds are dirty. The sink drained very slowly also.I have not received a survey for the other Motel 6 that we stayed at but Be Warned, DO NOT STAY at the Brockton, Mass. motel 6. I give that a 1 black hole rating. I think it is a half way house for men or where they take homeless men.
As a non-smoker, my experience at this motel 6 was unbearable. The second I got to the 2nd level floor, the smell of marijuana was awful. Even though I was told that the section of the motel I was staying was smoke free, but that did not prevented the smoke from the other section to find its way to the non-smoking section. If the motel policy is to have smoking rooms made available to their patrons, I would strongly suggest to install smoke ionizers between the smoking and the non smoking sections which hopefully prevent the smoke to travel to the non-smoking section. Travelling with kids, and having to smell that constantly was awful, even she was complaining. I asked to be moved to the first floor, but was told they were booked, therefore I had to endure two days of that smell.I belief that was the main issue of my stay. Although did noticed a gentlemen requesting an iron with board, and when the gentlemen brought to the hotel representative that the cord for the iron was broken, she told him that they did not have any more irons. I find that difficult to understand that management had no more irons to provide the guest. I guess it shouldve been handle more professional. My apologies, I will have house keeper bring to your room an iron. Then find out who else in the motel requested one and see if they were done with it. Or have at least 5 good working irons available.I am also a bit concern that a motel would allow their guest to smoke in the rooms, which this can cause fires...
I spent a night at Motel 6, it was a of hotel. The halls smelled like smoke and the service there was pretty bad. The lady at the front desk said there was going to be free breakfast we got there in the morning and there was none. But the bed wad pretty nice. And the showers had nice warm water. The location is fairly good as well with Dennys right next to it. Overall it was a nice one night stay....
I just visited Buffalo and stayed at this Motel for several days. It was a very clean and secure motel. Large room and comfy bed. Using one of the online booking sites I paid only $45 a night! If I return to the city I will definitely stay there again. That being said since it is a budget motel there are several minuses one need be aware of. There was no iron, ironing board, clock or alarm clock, hair dryer or coffee maker. Other than the bed the only place to sit were 2 wooden chairs. If you get a room on the front of the building expect a lot of traffic noise from the highway which is directly next to the motel. Twice my room/building card would not open the doors and I had to go to the front desk to get it re-activated but that may have been because I put it in my pocket with my cell phone so be aware of this.
This time, everything was clean and tidy. The staff is always friendly. No dark hairs on the floor or tub mat, or wet floor. The showerhead worked. I did not like the smell which was either an air freshener or cleaner. I sneezed a lot. I havent noticed this smell before on other visits. Id like that changed. The heater worked well.
I am quite surprised by the helpfulness of the staff, they were very friendly. The room was kept clean all the time and clean linen and towels. But it would have been nice if the wifi is free. I will not complain about not having shampoo and a toothbrush, but wifi is essential.
After 9 calls to the hotel with no answer I was continuely routed to the reservation line in another state. I spoke to the agent informing him I was going to stay a couple more nights and I had, in a rush, forgot to stop at the front desk. I left food and some other items in the room and wanted the same room back for my continued stay. He assured me that everything would be fine in that go ahead and make a reservation for the next two nights which I did giving him my credit card number. The agent said he would contact the hotel and let them know I was returning and everything would be fine but that I needed to arrive by 6 p.m. or they would cancel the reservation I let the agent know that it wasnt necessary to clean the room as I only been there for 2 days. I arrived at 3:50 p.m. to find a not so eager to help front desk clerk who informed me that he would not rent the room back to me and that my items had been thrown in the garbage. I asked to speak with the manager who had already left for the day. I told the front desk clerk to cancel my reservation he Shrugged his shoulders click the button on the computer and said done have a nice day.Ive personally stayed at this hotel probably 50 times over the last 20 years I will never stay here again. I want to thank Motel 6 for pushing me out the door as I found a very comfortable and comparable priced room for $8 a night less which also has a microwave and refrigerator - something they do not have
Checking in the first room bed had been used there was a dirty towel in the chair and a used drink on the dresser. The second room had a large hair ball in the toilet the toilet turned off because the floor was leaking water and the sink was backed up. Building maintenance fixed the issues and the remainder of the stay was good as expected.
I have stayed at this Motel 6 twice in 2014 for multiple days each time and it is my number one go to hotel in the area. All the staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The price is exceptional for the quality. In addition: the area is absolutely safe, there is a 24 hour convenient store less than a quarter mile away, a restaurant open for breakfast then into the evening right next door (walk 25 yards) and many other businesses very close.Again, I cant emphasize enough both the personable and professional staff and the exceptional value for the price.Sincerely thank you.
Rooms are well kept. Located close to shopping. Staff provide good service except for two whom lack people and helpful courteous skills. Manager is very helpful with concerns. Ice machine should be a priority since some rooms do not provide fridge. Microwave in rooms would be a welcome addition.
I booked a non smoking two bed room for staying with Kids on 1st floor. I called hotel reception on the same day morning and confirmed that i will get the non smoking room , but terribly i got a smoking room in 2nd floor. the persons and front desk at that night are so rude and not responded properly. Had the worst experience in my life staying in smoking room. It was totally a nightmare and couldnt sleep at all. MY clothes were smelling smoke even after two days. Hectic experience.
My family and I visited from Ohio for Memorial day weekend. The Motel 6 is normally not 1st choice but due ti hoilday we settled. We had GREAT hospitality & service from a young man named Murray. He was so helpful with directions to room service & all of our vistor needs. The rooms were nicely remodeled & clean looks different from the outside & it will trick you if you base off 1st appearance. If we visit again we will definitely stay at THIS Motel 6 in Amherst NY. Thank you for a great experience.
I dont know about these bad reviews but i gotta tell ya. Every Motel is gonna have its ups and downs. The staff over all are amazing. We are here for a few weeks till we find a place and the staff have been just great. They ALL have gone above and beyond to make sure our family of 8 is cozy. My complaint if i have to have one is...when getting weelly rates u only get maid service once a week. BUT if we choose to clean our room we cant borrow the broom or dust pan. I have teens and expect them to clean up after themselves. Theres a microwave in lobby. Awesome coffee service. The bed myself and hubby have is sorta rock hard. But i mean... Its better then some of the roach flea bag motels we have seen and been to over the years. Amanda the boss goes above an beyond to make sure her quests are happy. If a worker isnt doin their job she whips them into shape as professional as ever. Shanita (spelling wrong), Val, Caroline, Helena, and the two married house keepers are ROCK STARS. I did have an issue with one housekeeper but that was nipped in the butt and well...i really cant complaine. The rooms are big. We havent been bothered by any quests really. I mean...i think overall this place is awesome.
We stay at this Motel quite often. It is very well located for our shopping needs and close to the cigar bar we frequent often. People need to remember this is not the Hyatt Regency nor is it intending to be. You get what you pay for and for the rates charged it is very adequate. The staff are always friendly and courteous. The only thing I wish they would do is include FREE internet for quests. Highly recommend this Motel for those looking for a clean, reasonably priced place to stay.
I arrived at around 3 pm to sign in. The woman that was there seemd a little lost . Was complaining the the system to accept money was horrible. She was having problems with a patrons payment. This went on for 15 minutes, the next patron also had a problem , was not sure what the problem was but i waited about another 15 minutes. Finally it was my turn, told her i had reservations and was told that she wasnt sure if the room was clean. I needed to check it out myself and let her know. Room was alright. Then the problem, my wife used the toilet and it overflows. I ran in put towels everywhere. Was told by the front desk they could get me a plunger. Was shocked or i could get another room with one bed for 3 of us. Thank God there was a Friendlys Restaurant next door. . We were able to use the bathroom there. When i left the bathroom issue was never handled.
One main problem...internet cost $5 for 24 hours for each device. After years of working in hospitality, I know to check everything when you first arrive. The only thing in the room that was found was the a.c. filter needed cleaned. Throughout the stay 2 things became a problem. The toilet paper holder was across the room. I could barely reach it and my children couldnt at all so we say a roll on the sink and life went on. The toilet kept messing up and eventually wouldnt flush. I have some skills so I checked out the tank. They had used a coat hanger to rig up the stuff inside. I simply fixed it back up myself and again everything was fine. The front desk staff was amazing. Shaquel helped out with anything we needed and even helped me plan a few things for me and my children to do. I will stay again of in the area.
Lets see, I was put in a smoking room when I reserved a nonsmoking room. The girls in front were powerless to do anything because the manager was not on site (and they had no way of contacting her). The room was a mess (smelling of cigarettes and burn holes all over the comforters). I tried to request that my money be refunded and would go to another hotel and was told that only the manager could address that problem. Two people in my party have asthma so it wasnt a good situation. I called the Manager two days later and was offered a free room. I wanted my money back and it was not on the table. After being treated this way I have no intention of staying with your brand ever again and will not talk about your brand in a favorable fashion.
We had to stay in a hotel for a quick day trip and we couldnt take our dogs to where we had a business meeting so we left them in the hotel room and this was very helpful for myself and my husband. The room was larger than expected which was a plus. Only thing that we didnt like was our toilet obviously was half cleaned and our floors were dirty. Also while using the restroom there were several ants crawling around the bathroom floor. Other than that it was okay. We did have a very annoying guest in the room next to us who kept banging on our wall indicating we were disturbing them but we were sleeping. They did this twice but that isnt the hotels fault, we felt there was no need to report it and cause problems since we were leaving an hour later. The annoying thing is we were woken up twice because of it.
No problem with staff as they were nice and helpful. Being a motel it delivers how it was expected to. Cheap. I was just looking for a bed to sleep after a funeral service was done. Honestly it would have gotten at least 4 stars if it wasnt for this stale smell that spread through out the hotel and carried into the room. It seem as if they try to mask the smell with aerosols and harsh chemicals but in doing so made the stay unpleasant. I was breathing irregularly because I wanted to avoid the smell. It made me feel as if I was having my asthma come back. You never would think about how much the quality of the air can impact an experience. I will keep this in mind next time I go sniffing around for a cheap hotel.
I didnt get the room! When I reached at motel, front desk said that I have no booking and it seems manager double booked the room and someone else already checked in. Though I called before couple of times and confirmed my booking, but I didnt get any room and have to find some other option at late evening. Front desk called nearby hotels and helped to find the room, but that is much expensive than the price I booked. I felt horrible as I was travelling with my family and my kids were sleeping in car. My experience was horrible and I will never take risk to book again with motel 6 and also not recommend to anyone with such experience.
The website shows indoor and outdoor pool and states every room has a kitchen. I stayed in two different rooms and neither even had a kitchen and theres no pool. Im very disappointed and definitely only booked there because of the pools. It was around 90 degrees and we had to stay in the room with the curtains closed to even stay cool. When I spoke to the front desk about it they said oh we dont have any pools and Im not sure who told you that. So I pulled up the website and showed them and they got rude with us about it. Couldnt cancel my reservation and go anywhere else because I would be charged for cancelling. Ruined our vacation when we was excited and bought swimsuits for nothing.
This was the worst experience I had in US. They charged $85/night. The tax was 20%, when asked why they were charging so much the receptionist said she does not know about it. It was a family trip and the room allotted to us has full of cigar smoke smell. When we called and asked for room freshener she asked me to come and collect it on my own. The room was not cleaned properly. I do not know about other hotels but this hotel and their receiving is not worth the money.
Front desk staff was very good, room looked clean but was not. I am not a clean freak but I was grossed out when I picked up the pillow and noticed a greasy head stain on the sheet. Thought it was a stain maybe that didnt come out in the wash, pulled the bed spread back more and discovered 2 black hairs on the sheet. Gross! Luckily I had 2 beds in the room so I slept on the other one. Next morning took a shower and found another black hair on the towel! PS. I have blonde hair. Bed was cheap and squeaky, sheets were cheap and like sandpaper, towels were thin and rough. I had never stayed in a Motel 6 before and will never stay again. I checked out early, and didnt even stay the second night.
The staff are all nice but, I have ants and baby cockroaches in my room. The floor was dirty when I got to my room and there was trash from previous guest in the room. At late hours of the night i could here other guest in there room talking loudly and engaging in adult activity. The drink vending machine ate my money as well. I found naloxone hydrochloride ( used to counteract opioid overdose) in the parking lot while walking my dog. They do not have public laundry either. Lastly after staying here two nights I attempted to get the room another night because its the only motel I could afford they tried to charge me almost double the price. The bathroom was at least clean and the TV worked properly.
This hotel and the managing partner are scam artists. We made reservations on the 1st for Saturday October 5th. We showed up and they said the reservations were made for the 1st and not the 5th. Then argued with us saying we should have looked at the email they sent. So we had to pay them more. Called Monday to try to get it settled and think it was the same guy but claimed it was not. DO NOT STAY HERE, they will scam you. Terrible experience.
If all you need while staying in this big college town is a place to sleep and shower then this budget motel will suffice admirably. Its hard to argue with a $56-per-night room. The rooms are comfortable and clean. If theres a downside its the close proximity to an interstate highway with some noise carryover, but the rooms that face away are much quieter. Plenty of available parking, too!
This Motel 6 is in a convenient location and the area feels safe. I have stayed there before & this time I was doing a course near by so just needed somewhere to sleep. Functional, pretty utilitarian rooms with 2 comfy beds; nice clean sheets; acceptable pillows; table & 2 chairs; built in counter top & drawers; suitcase stand; lots of good lighting; small fridge; microwave. People at front desk were all helpful & friendly. Lots of parking. Some of the corridors had the competing smell of cleaners trying to cover up smoke smell, but room was clean and smelled fine. WiFi was $2.99/ day. Only -ve was that there was no shampoo. But, over all, for $51/night incl tax, I have NO complaints...so much so, Ive booked up another 6 nights for the next leg of my courseleg of my course.
Ive stayed here almost every week for the last six months, and several occasions before that, and for a budget motel, this Motel 6 location is the best of any Motel 6 Ive ever been to in the United States. There are few amenities, but as this is clearly a budget motel, so I dont expect any. Rooms are clean and newly updated, pretty quiet most of the time. If I had any complaint, it would be that the Motel 6 brand seems to attract some undesirable guests, but that is not the fault of the hotel, and they are quick to work with the local authorities to remedy any sketchy activities.
I come to Buffalo every year for the art festival and I stay at Motel 6. Ive been staying here off and on for nearly 20 years. The last time I stayed here was 2014. Thank goodness the motel was quiet. The dogs were quiet and the motel didnt smell like a dog. That was the way it was on my last visit. My room was hot though, the air conditioner didnt cool the room so I had to change rooms and moved across the hall. It was very nice and cool during the first heat wave of the season. If I come back to Buffalo next year I will come back to the Maple Road Motel 6 in Amherst New York.
The price was very competitive, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Coffee in the main lobby didnt appeal to me at all, waking up half asleep to go down and get a 4 oz. Cup to bring to the room, the ice machine took 4-5 minutes to fill the ice bucket, the 1 chair in the room was a hard stackable! Another stackable could have been a plus. No vent in the bathroom seemed odd, so I realized the pattern was to minimize the perks that require more clean up and upkeep. We Had to bring a coffee maker and a microwave with us. Otherwise our experience was adequate.
1. The Room was good and staff was very courteous & helped to set up double queen bed when I had booked for one as I needed two, without any additional charges.2. The missing breakfast was not helpful .3. The charging for wifi was not right. My daughter kept complaining as basic cover was for one device only - Suggestion in these days and times each occupant has a wifi enabled I phone or other similar devices to keep in touch and it does not help if u charge for same.4. The Toilet Flush water flowing would not stop and I had to lift cover to check if valve was leaking.5. The Toilet paper location was too far from seat and was inconvenient,6. The Approach Road to Motel & back Road in front of Reception side was in poor condition with several potholes. I had difficult time maneuvering thru same.7. Room should have basic necessities like Microwave and Fridge as it is very inconvenient to walk up to reception to use Microwave.8. The Charging /Electrical socket was not located near beds and was on opposite wall and was very inconvenient to keep sitting near the TV on bed to charge the phone by using sockets. There should have been some sockets provided on wall next to beds.
On this trip, I stayed at four different hotels, including other Motel 6s. This was the first night of my cross-country trip. The Amherst Motel 6 was not enjoyable. For one thing, there was the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. Also, the bath towels were too small. Also, the hotel was kind of shabby in appearance. Again, this was different from say the Motel 6 in South Bend, IN. The hotel in South Bend was very accommodating to my dog and put me in a room very near the outside doorway. The person on duty in Amherst did not suggest that, and I was on a second floor room, which made it difficult to take my dog outside.
My reservation stated that my room was a non-smoking room. However, the fact that there were 3 ashtrays snd a cigarette burn in the bedspread in the room led me to believe otherwise. Unfortunately, all other hotels in tbe area had no vacancies so we had no other choice but to stay. I am an asthmatic so needless to say it was not a pleasant situation. I will say that the room itself was clean but certainly a bare bones hotel. And at the $115.99 a night it was vastly overpriced. Would never stay here again nor reccomend it to anyone.
While the overall experience was good. We had requested first floor connecting rooms and upon arrival, there were none available. This was not because there werent any open rooms, but because there was one room from each connecting room empty and all the second rooms were occupied. Is it the habit to just fill one half? I questioned why were the second room of the connecting rooms werent filled as the first ones were and therefore leaving some connecting rooms available wasnt practiced here? The girl at the counter was also questioning the same thing. Especially when the request was included in the notes attached to our reservation. We took one half each of the two connecting rooms that were across the hall from each other (151 and 152 at #1298)So one of our rooms was treated to very loud, very gross sounding, boisterous neighbours who slammed and banged their door from 6:30am on for both mornings of our stay. The second room didnt have any issues with noise through the connecting door.Overall, though, our stay was ok and we would likely stay again.
We got in late Wed the 14th (almost midnight). After a hour or so of being there we went out to smoke and hall had a strong odor of marijuana. When we awoke I picked the blanket off the floor and a bug was on blanket and ended up being near my sons cheek (after he went to cover up with it). Few mins later we seen another crawling on floor. We called the front desk and they did change our room for us and the housekeeper/manager on duty gave us a free nights stay as the general manager was nowhere to be found or running late. (I forget the exact words) We were told the general manager would come down and talk to us and she never did. A few days later we called corporate and explained things to them and they called the hotel and after that the general manager came and spoke to us. She offered to do NOTHING but change our room again. For 5 straight days we had to smell the marijuana morning noon and night before finally the head housekeeper found the person responsible and kicked them from motel. The next day we had ants in our room and had to change rooms again for the 3rd time. After moving all out belongings from the one room to the other they told us they put us in the wrong room. THO the general manager told him to put us in that room and gave key cards. After the head housekeeper helped out we were able to stay in that room. We were in that room for 2 days and was told if we stay another night we would have to switch rooms yet again for the 4th time. And then on top of the cost to book the room I had to pay $10. - $15 a day for internet service at $4.99 a day. There was 4 of us in the room and we had 6 devices that took internet and the code you get only works on 1 devise. (Once you buy a code you should be able to use it on all or any devise you wanted to) Another thing that was so wrong with this motel. The general manager was NOT a nice person. She was very short and snippy. The employees were great. They were kind and helpful. Do to this experience I will never be staying at this motel location again. NOT happy about this all.
Motel is ok, but lacking a few basic things like shampoo in rooms, hair drier, one has to pay for wifi. But thats why its probably on a cheaper side around the area. Did see the elevator either, but for me it was not a problem to take stairs even with a roller bag. Staff is friendly.
Room was ok heater was dirty.bed felt like i was sleeping on wood.tv channels where horrible.got up the next morning filled the tub with hot water only to find out the water was luke warm.then right before leaving i noticed a blood stain on the wall.not a very good place
I was quite unhappy with my stay. Mydog was staying with me, after she ate I took her out. When returned to the room her bowl was fill of ants. They were all over the room. I went to front desk and the clerk was very concerned but said you were fully booked and would call the manager to see what to do. 2.5 hours later she called and said that a cancellation had just come thru and they could now move me. I was now in bed. I suggested that a discount or compensation was in order but the manager said no. I have stayed at this hotel twice a year for the last four years . The rest of my group has moved to the red roof over the years, maybe Its time to join them
Ralph - Oakville ONIf you are in the need for the best customer service personal you might want to contact Amanda & Shaynita at Motel 6 Amherst and hire them. If I had a hotel/motel I would not only hire these girls I would have them run the entire show, and I seriously mean that. We had a problem with Expedia which has the worst customer service ever we tried to solve our problem with them on the phone and nothing they kept hanging up on us and leaving us on hold for so long. We decided to go to the front desk. Amanda took charge and called them not only took care of our problem within a couple hrs but also got us exactly what she felt was an appropriate refund a 100% refund. Thank you Amanda for helping us, BTW the wife says you have a wonderful smile. We give you a rating of 100stars.
I found the property to be unclean. It looked as if the bath tub had not been thoroughly cleaned and the drawers in the dresser were littered with human hair and dirt.l I did not put my clothes in the drawers but left them in my suitcase.I also discovered, late in my two-day stay, that the door to my room did not lock. I could lock it from within, but when I left, it was unlocked and anyone could simply walk in. (room 223)
I was SO disappointed. A friend had told me it was a good value. However, we arrived to find out that the only rooms left were smoking rooms. I reserved a non-smoking room online and would not have made the reservation there if none were available. I have allergies and am very sensitive to smoke. When my son and I woke up in the morning our eyes were bright red. To make matters worse, when I turned the shower on in the morning the water came out brown. It was a lousy start to my sons move in day at University at Buffalo!
Loved the orange wall and laminate flooring is beautiful. Very nice shower refit, not shakey like so many others. On the downside, it was kind of weird that the back entry was not controlled with a key lock at night. The bed was as comfortable as could be, not at all like a budget motel! Bring your own coffee sweetner. Convenient to fast food, resaurants, Boulevard Mall, and grocery stores. If you are only in need of a place to sleep and shower, and not much more than that, this is a good buy.
For just under a $100(w/tax and fees) on a Saturday in June, this was the hands down cheapest option we had for a hotel for a wedding in town. That being said... This motel 6 has been recently painted and updated. Although there are too many deodorizers in this old building that make me think that they are trying to mask something. The bed seems sub par from the lounging that I have done. So far I would give this 1 star hotel 3 out of 5 stars. After pulling back the comforter we found 3 curly hair on the sheets! Called the front desk and Sam came up and remade the bed. Thanks Sam!The hair on the sheets drops my rating to 2/5 stars!
My friends and I came from PA for a conference. Knowing we were coming, we called a week ahead to reserve a 2 bed room for us. Just to make sure that nothing was wrong we called a second time to verify. When we got there they said the room we booked was actually a one bed room WHICH WAS NOT WHAT WE HAD BOOKED. So we waited there and they got us a room for one night but couldnt promise us the second night. They charged us for that night (remember this, its important). In the morning we were supposed to check in again to see if we have a room. They said we do but said we never paid (which we did) and the charged us twice. On our way out they said sorry and refunded us the second payment and gave us free WiFi. This was a nice gesture but they couldve done more given that we reserved this room like a week ahead of time...
Complementary break fast and a refrigerator for common use or in room would have been more good to choose the Motel. Also more trash bins is recommended.Odor of the premise as soon as we entered was unpleasant..it was all smelling with cigarette smoke and getting in with infants and kids does not seem to be safe at all.
Shower curtain was missing on first night and it was late so we just took a shower anyway. Notified front desk next morning and they said they would put one on. Came back late and it was still missing. Notified front desk that I wanted it now and I would put it on. I was told that she could not leave her station until relieved. I had to wait 10 minutes before it was brought to me. I was not happy.
NO ONE WILL LEAVE THE LIGHT ON AT THIS MOTEL 6. My husband and I arrived at this Motel 6 road weary. I made reservations online and had a confirmation number for a 5 day stay, which I booked well in advance. The clerk told us we only had a reservation for that night and that was it. He couldnt honor our reservation because the motel was sold out. We decided to take the one night and try to find another room in the morning. As we loaded our stuff into the room, there was a couple having a huge knock down drag out fight. We asked the clerk if we could have another room and he said No, the hotel is sold out. I called the 800 number and the person I spoke to couldnt have cared less, and told me if I left I would have to pay for the room, that it would not be refunded. He told me I could have a room at the Motel 6 in Niagara Falls, which was 1/2 hour north. I was FURIOUS. So we asked for a refund from the front desk clerk, which we got, and left the hotel. The room was smelly and dank anyway, so it was a blessing in disguise. I called Customer Service the following day and the person I spoke to hung up on me. On my second call to Customer Service I finally spoke to someone who seemed to care and apologized for the screw up. No satisfaction to date. Dont count on your reservations being honored at this hotel.
This was the most disgusting place Ive ever stayed. The hallways had trash all over the floor and looked like they hadnt been vacuumed in months. They also reeked of weed. The bed sheets were covered with stains and the room smelled horrible. The toilet didnt flush either. I had a taxi driver pick me up to go to the keybank center and he told me that place is known as a hooker motel. When we got back to the motel that night there were police there doing a full forensic investigation and the guy at the desk, not knowing we had checked in earlier, said he couldnt check us in for a few hours because they were in the middle of something. Worst place Ive ever stayed and makes me never want to go back to Buffalo.
First, I specifically requested, not to charge my credit card as i am planning to pay cash to avoid horrible exchange rate from the bank. I asked the reception if i need to pay now with cash when i checked in, he said NO. The next day when i checked, they told me that they already billed to my credit card. Second, their pillows are way too flat aka very old, so i requested an extra pillow and they told me they have NONE.
The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. They assisted us with directions to their location as well as the easiest route to the highway into Niagara Falls. It was very conveniently located to both Niagara Falls and Buffalo, made it easy to get to and from both places. The staff went above and beyond, providing extra towels, assistance with directions and also helping me printing out tickets to a game we went to in Buffalo. Check in and check out were easy, the room having a refrigerator and microwave were very helpful to our ability to keep the costs of our trip down, since we didnt have to eat out every meal and there were no issues with accessing the internet in our room which was also extremely helpful. Excellent value for the cost and the location which made for a great 2 day stay while visiting Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Thanks very much to the helpful, friendly and accommodating staff that assisted us and answered all of our questions.
Easy to book, arrived and was greeted by a very pleasant young gentleman. He was very helpful, gave us all the information and details we needed. Also looked up hours a particular restaurant on his phone for us to confirm if it would be open. The rooms where very very clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay.
Ive stayed at your motel in Amherst, NY for 25 years and always find that it meets my needs very well. It feels like a home away from home. Ayasha Collins is always a pleasure to see. Her helpfulness and friendliness are exemplary. The new fellow, Max, at the front desk was also a pleasure to deal with. He was quite helpful to me. I hope to see him there again when I visit this summer. My room was kept spotless by the housekeeping staff. A pleasure all around.
ANTS and PESTS. I woke up in the middle of the night with ants all over the bed and biting me.Management gave us a new room, but the general manager Amanda told us it was our fault for leaving food out (when we had everything packed away). They have a standardized $10 refund for complaints like these to shut customers up. Terrible take it or leave it attitude.Theres also hidden fees for everything. After everything adds up its actually the same as staying at a nicer hotel with all the comforts included and better customer service.
When I made the reservation I was told over the phone to call the night before to make sure I would have a room by 8 amI did so. Guy over the phone 8 pm said. Yes I would have a room because the motel was not sold out8 am the morning I arrived . i was told it was somking rooms only left .I was upset at this . and was not told this 8 pm the night before.Room was Okay. But the whole 2nd floor smelled like Heavy cigarette smoke .I should of been given a discount. Or something for not really acccomeding my stay . I Dont Smoke.
The outside doors wouldnt open. So every time I went to my car I had to walk the entire way around the building. I slipped in oil in front of the entrance and my toe is still hurting and bruised after 4 days. Bathroom had hair left in it. No shampoo, no coffee pot, only 3 towels. Defiantly budget traveling but charged me 100 per night.
The room was horrible, I checked out as soon as I walked in. The bed looked stained and it smelled like smoke. Worse than a seedy motel on the boulevard. There was a wooden table and chair in the room like a school. Horrible!!! I checked out and went to red roof inn. I was not about to stay in that bed that looked like there were 40 diseases on it. Very upset! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone!
I came here for a room that can accomodate 2 adult guests, located near the University at Buffalo, for a graduation ceremony. The location is magnificent for where i want to be and even has a friendlys diner next door. The room was clean and had suffice living material. Though the smell of the hall wasnt that great, and there is no elevator to the second floor. The price per night is reasonable. However there is no breakfast just coffee and tea that didnt taste great. And internet isnt free.
I arrived in town on a Friday night to attend a funeral the next morning. While in our room, we were greeted with loud music. We called the front desk to complain about the noise. After about 30 minutes the music stopped. However, within another thirty minutes the music started again, so loud that we had a hard time sleeping. We went to the front desk to complain again and the music never stopped after that. We ended up staying in town another night but stayed somewhere else. I was completely dissatisfied with the stay. The least someone should be able to do in a motel room is get a decent night of sleep.
Overbooked and gave our room to another person even though we had already checked in!!! We checked in in the afternoon and was told the room is not ready yet so come back tonight and it will be ready. Guess what? Someone was complaining about their room and they gave our room to them even though it was marked occupied. Not apologetic at all. Do you want Do you wanna go someplace else? Was the employees exact words. Never staying there ever again.
Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Had to pay extra for internet, and even with the upgraded internet specified for gaming we still had slow speed. The did discount the internet for our trouble. We did have a bathroom problem that needed maintence in the middle of the night. Sammy was great at with his determination to fix the problem for us. Very friendly and creation man.
We reserved a non smoking room but instead we were told none were available when we checked in. Hence we were forced to try to sleep in a room were it was difficult for us to breath, let alone sleep. I also requested an additional pillow for the room but was told there were none available. The room was shoddy (crack in sink, stained and dirty, etc).
Staff was very unwelcoming and abrasive from the start then cards stopped working several times, and because we had our windows and ppl was smoking cigarettes outside our window and they acussed us of smoking in our room mind you I dont smoke in short spend the extra money and stay somewhere nicer
I reserved online and paid almost $250 using my military discount and Im very disapointed with what I got for my money. First of all the room is very basic no fridge, no microwave, no hair dryer, no iron, no coffe maker, no even an alarm clock, only a small tv with nothing else. No chanel listing available. I used the toilet and when try to flushed did not worked I took off the tank lid and the chain was disconected. I ended just staying only one night and moved to a days inn for less money and incleded everyting I mentioned before. I will never return to this place ever again.
Not sure about other hotels in this area since this hotel is near niagara and weekend they charged us 90$ per night for 2 queen beds room but our experience is worst not good for family, hotel staff told they are not responsible for cigarettes smell since they can not controll smokers, room is not clean as expected, there are holes on bed sheets because of cigarettes , no oven provided in our room, no fridge .....all over I can simply say worst hotel for 90$
Location was important for me, this facility was very convenient being next to UB. Overall place was clean, bathroom nice, though can be updated. Better locations needed for smokers, besides every entrance had someone smoking. Myself a former that quit over 10 yrs ago and now dislike the smell. Also being these are the days of electronics, WiFi should be offered for free. Then pay $3.00 for 1 day is over the top.Its like that TV bill in hospitals.
Traveling with a pet can be trying when looking for places to stay. This place is pet friendly. The motel is basic but clean. Rates are low so dont expect any extras. Location is perfect for our visits to Buffalo area. Some of the cliental do leave something to be desired but the staff is efficient and friendly.
My mother and I took a sentimental trip to visit Buffalo/Niagara since I went to graduate school at SUNY - At Buffalo. We stayed at this Motel 6 before and didnt have any problems. We decided to stay here again, and checked in on Friday, July 7th. The next morning I noticed a bug in the bathroom. I quickly killed it and had my mom take a look at it. She told me it was a bed bug and I panicked! We immediately began to pack to check out. We were informed that I would be refunded for the 2 nights we werent going to stay, but corporate would have refund us for the night we did stay. Needless to say, it is now July 18th and no one has contacted me. No one from corporate nor the manager named Amanda has contacted me in regards to this situation. But I will be contacting people, starting with the Erie County Health Department!
On the plus side, the location was close to everywhere we wanted to go, and the price was right. As for everything else: From the 40 minutes we had to wait to check in (locked outside of the lobby, banging on the window at 12am because the only staff member working was who-knows-where), to the rooms interior that resembled a run-down paupers woodshed, to our maid removing our used towels after the first day and not replacing them (leaving one washcloth), to the uneasy feeling that every night there would be my last night alive judging by other patrons appearances ... I think next time Id spring for more luxurious accommodations than risk this place again.
When we arrived there were a lot of people hanging out in the parking lot and the lobby for no reason. It was an uneasy feeling trying to pay for the room. There were a lot of holes in the blankets that were on the bed. Not enough towels or washrags in the room and ashes all over the bathroom. Smelled like cigarettes and made our clothes smell that way as well. The door to the room was crooked leaving a space along the bottom where someone could see straight thru. The safety lock on the door was broke. Someone checked us out way early and tried to come in the room at 7am
This hotel has the best value in town. Located just 2mins outside UB north campus, surrounded by malls and shops, the location is ideal for a family visit to the UB students. Price is among the lowest in the region. Service is very nice, rooms are very clean and environment is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely would come back given chance. Nothing to complain at all.
We travel to Florida and many States and have to stay at least 2 nights on the road. We 98% of time choose a Motel 6 because we need a good bed to sleep in and clean shower prior to leaving next am.The Motel 6 in Amhurst New York ( or near the University) has beenthe cleanest Motel 6 we have stayed in ( in over 50 years)Thank You Jeanne Bocci
Room was dirty, table between beds was stained with wine glass rings, I have pictures. bathroom had a ash tray that was hidden above the towles with drug residue. Bed cover was stained badley and the hotel had many people hanging around each doorway. All of the people hanging out made it very uncomfortable.
We left home early and thought we would be in buffalo well before midnight. After some slow downs and a hard day of travel, I called tho sry it was going to be after misnight when we got there. The chearful lady on the phone said that was find and will mark it as a late arrival. The check in at 2 am was quick and we got to a clean and cumfy room. The shower was wonderful and check out was just as quick as check in. I loved the stay it was close to Niegra Falls and the HWY we needed to go on to continue through New York. Thank you for the great experience and a great room.
No shampoo.no haïr dryer.1st room restroonm back door not clean at all. 2nd room first thing I do is open my sheet and I find Some food look like crescent crumb! So thé Lady at réception Come imediatly change my sheet! Thé beds in both room make noise and matress not comfortable !
Very noisy neighber complained to front desk nothing was done. Not a good experience for our family. loud people carring on till very late doors slamming. Smoke detectors low battery bearing in the hall. We travel and stay in hotels and motels a lot and this is by far the worst experience we have had. Very disappointed.
The entire place looked and was cheap. Hard elementary school chair from the 1950s. Bed felt like I was sleeping on a wooden board. Very low water pressure on Sunday Morning, 5/20/18. Im not expecting the Taj Mahal but the place looked and felt like a fleabag prostitute Motel.

2022-07-01Very convenient. Excellent customer service. Our room was neat and clean, although there wasnt much counter space in the restroom and our room didnt have an alarm clock or a coffee maker. There was coffee in the lobby though, and plenty of places to eat nearby (they didnt serve a continental breakfast). All in all, its a great place to stay for the price and wed definitely stay here again.

2022-05-23The hotel receptionist was courteous and fast. We only stayed for one night and my family had a good night sleep in clean linen. I recommend this motel 6 if you are staying for a night or 2. It was also close to a lot of stores and gas station.

2022-06-30This motel is basic, but was extremely clean and the staff were very friendly. Moved here from a bad 1st night at the Red Roof Inn around the corner and they were very accommodating. You do need to pay a deposit, but it is refundable upon inspection of the room. The only complaint I had was a slight smoke smell in the curtains and the bedding even though its a non-smoking room.

2022-06-17The front desk staff is wonderful and room was very clean. I decided to stay for another night, there was a little difficulty re-booking my room because I used booking.com for the first night. next time I will book directly through motel 6 and eliminate the middleman. You wont be disappointed if you stay here.

2022-02-06Clean fresh rooms, but dont look for too many amenities here. No fridge or coffee maker in room. No clock, no mirror other than the bathroom. No counter in the bathroom we had for a place to set toiletries on. Staff is friendly. Pet-friendly also.

2022-04-29I made the reservation yesterday and had to cancel it today, its not even 24 hours and in their site, they mentioned that its free cancellation, but they charged me the full price for cancellation and giving me back $ 3.83, pure Highway robbery. A bunch of scammers, I will never use this site or Motel 6 ever again. I WANT MY MONEY BACK THIEVES

2022-06-15The staff were great! The room was presentable and has all the basics.Highly recommend replacing the TV (Outdated) with bigger screen and have a microwave in every room. The Wi-Fi is so weak and slow.We stayed for 4 days during our trip to Niagra Falls. No regrets staying in this facility.

2022-07-09We stayed here because we did not have many optipns due to limited timing. We came with very low expectations however even those were not met.1. It was too noisy at night. There were kids running in the hallway at 1 Am. My baby woke up to them and started crying, and of course contributed to the noise. I could not sleep till4 Am.2. Also the beds springs were too noisy. Every time somebody moved in their sleep it made a lot of noise. Also we were itchy all night. Hoping there were no bedbugs.3. Bathroom drainage was not working properly. We had to tape it.4. I don’t think it was worth the money. There was nothing except towels, toilet paper and two little soap bars.

2022-04-02Visiting University of Buffalo with my daughter. This Motel 6 is the cleanest one hands down. The room and hallway had a nice fragrance. The bedding is up to date. The price for stay was perfect.
