This is a good choice for the frugal traveler. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the room is large. There is no carpeting or upholstered chairs, which I like because it seems more hygienic. During my stay the surroundings were fairly quiet. Overall, a good experience.
My room was immaculate, roomy and a great place to get a solid nights sleep on the road. Strange layout as all rooms are inside, more like a hotel than a motel. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this location as one of the better Motel 6s Ive stayed in.
I went to this motel for a short overnight stay, I just needed some rest after a long drive. The customer service was good, staff was very friendly. But.....the room.....disgusting!! The walls were dam near yellow, smoke burns in the linens on the bed, sheets were stained, crushed curtains, remote only had one battery in it, 1/2 roll of toilet tissue with a new roll nowhere in sight. Wont ever stay there again.
Room smelled like mold. They had an air fresherner plugged in trying to hide the smell. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower. They left 2 towels. One for each person. No tissues or anything in the room.I guess for the price we paid we got the bare minimum I guess. Good thing friend brought shampoo and conditioner with her
My friend Montauk and I go to motel 6 at least2 weeks out of the month. There is a lot of peace and quiet and very well organized. May I say that this is a very clean place to stay. We are both loyal customers of Motel6. Thanks goes out to the staff. A special thanks to Amanda and Melissa who have treated us very well and are very people oriented🐕🐕🦺🦮🐈⬛🐈. PET FRIENDLY- YOU BET
Asked for no smoking , they gave me a smoking room, came back to the desk, the clerk changed my room to non smoking. He never programmed the room card, so I went back to the desk ,he turned the matching on to program card, while he was doing that he said Im gonna give you 20.00 off your room for your trouble. Checked out he never did that, the morning clerk had an attitude, and. She said he comes in at 7pm I will talk to him, no one has called me
Pretty bad. But cheap so you get what you pay for in this situation. We got a smoking room and although my travel mate was a smoker even she said the room stunk. I mean you can freshen up a smokers room and make it smell better.... Ugh. But it was an experience Ill never forget! Lol
Room was fine but the front desk lady was very rude even when we checked out she was awful I will never stay there again because of this lady I’ve worked at a hotel and you can’t be crabby to guest like that it’s very uncalled for! She was rude to me at check in and rude to my boyfriend at check out
This was one of our better stays in the area very clean comfortable and the staff was super friendly. All prices we’re very reasonable And Housekeeping was awesome and we had just an overall great stay, pet & family Friendly. Cant wait to stay at Motel 6 again on our next trip Hope they have room 🙄💯
The front desk was friendly. The room we had was pretty nice for a Motel 6. It was very spacious. On the downside there was no closet or drawers. It also would’ve been nice to have a light on each night stand. The fridge was not cleaned out from the prior customers. And there was a terrible odor coming from the air conditioner. There was absolutely no soundproofing at all. It sounded like we were sitting right on top of a busy highway with our windows open and there was no barrier between any of the rooms. It really was a good value for the money but we ended up leaving early due to the smell and noise.
Front staff was friendly and courteous. I travel with a dog so being dog friendly is important but unfortunately some dog owners are NOT responsible in picking up after them. However the grounds outside this hotel were in very good condition. Unfortunately the room itself was not great and seemed to smell of smoke? Bare minimum in room, bed was comfortable but sheets were stained.
I had to call corperate because the manager tried to charge me $1,000 on my credit card 3 days after i checked out ! Mind you i only was there 1 night ! He claims i was there for over a month thankfully my job out of state confirmed where i was and i was refunded the total amout ! I called corperate and i have filed a claim against the manager of the motel 6
Positive: Location Negative: Bedding was not clean, bedding had holes and burn marks, shower had burn marks, shower controls were not functioning properly, shower head was dirty and poor water flow, overall condition of room was poorly maintained, room was way over priced
My stay was the best possible experience you can expect for $60 a night. The room was clean, the shower was great, the bed was comfortable, the TV was functional, and the AC was flowing. The only room for improvement would be the smell - when we walked into the room, it had a very musty/dank smell, but it mostly went away after we opened the windows for a bit.
Definitely not worth the money paid, I read we would have coffee?? no shampoo in bathroom, doors were slamming all night, towel rack fell apart at the touch, the room was relatively nice looking and clean. The most positive thing about our stay was the woman who checked us in and out, she was very polite.
I appreciated being assigned a different room when the original one was on a hallway for which the entrance key machine didnt work. However, the new room had a door that stuck badly, took all my strength to push open, and sometimes set the deadlock on when I was trying to pull it shut so it wouldnt close unless I used the key card to make it retract. Otherwise, the room was fine, and I had a pleasant, quiet night. The shower curtain smelled sour but I didnt need to use the shower so that wasnt serious for me.
This is the best motel six Ive been in. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was also large. The floor was a nice faux wood, not the disgusting carpet so many hotels have.Check-in and out was a quick, easy process. There was no breakfast, but that is to be expected for this price range.
Receptionist was very pleasant and friendly.Room was clean, however strong smell from the cleaner that is used, could still smell it in the morning. Miss having carpet under my feet, did not bring my slippers. Coffee was good, but had to drink it black, no real milk available, not asking for cream.
It took a day or two for us to get used to the room but we really enjoyed it. Clean and comfortable. The only problem we had was that some of the other guests were not exactly quiet and due to the fact that they allow pets, which is really nice, there were some days where the dogs would be barking excessively. But we were there for six nights and that only happened once. Generally speaking we were satisfied. We are going to be heading back soon and are planning on staying there again.
The room was clean, the front desk personnel was nice, the bed was comfortable. As it was winter, an extra blanket on the bed would have been nice. It was nice to be able to get coffee from the lobby anytime of the day.The only negative thing is that the bottom of the tub was not as clean as it should have been. I went out and bought a bath mat to use so my feet wouldnt have to touch it. I should have taken a picture but I forgot. It looked like there was an old, thin bath mat adhered to the tub, and it looked like it had black mildew on it. I was at the Motel 6 in Binghamton on upper Front Street, Room #140.Last time I stayed at the same Motel 6, I did not have this problem. Someone should check it out. Thanks.
Rooms seemed to be recently semi-renovated along with newer looking reception area. It looks like theyve designed the new bedding to be bedbug proof. Nice reception guy, speedy check in, good deal. Bring your own toiletries as only soap provided. Walls kinda thin and TV and hallway noise were a bit loud. Bring ear plugs if noise sensitive. Sink drain wouldnt stay opened so I had to put a bottle cap to keep the drain open. Towels had peculiar stains on them. AC worked great and had a constant fan feature to create white noise and the giant TV was amazing. Bed was comfy with three different pillow thicknesses. I think the drain thing was the most annoying & unacceptable. I told the manager in the morning and he just brushed it off.
A short overnight stay but we were politely welcomed upon arrival. The room was easily accessible and, most importantly, clean. We only needed to put our heads on a pillow and this motel certainly got the job done. The pillows themselves were too soft for my liking but hey, you wont get everything.
I am a long stay guest at the Binghamton Motel 6 due to the fact I am moving from Virginia to New York and the place I had lined up fell through. They have been very helpful with us and plus the housekeepers take very good care of room and the front desk has given me an address so I can have mail sent here. I asked for a refrigerator and microwave and they brought them that same day. My air conditioner wasnt working properly and they replaced it with a new one. They are all very good and courteous to us. I also like the fact that they accept my 2 dogs at no extra charge. The housekeepers have even given my dogs treats, cause they are good dogs. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Very good service and excellent prices.
Walls are a little thin - we heard everyone who walked by. The tub drain was very slow the first time a person showered and almost completely stopped up by the second. We notified the front desk at check out and she seems appropriately concerned. Decor was nice. Good value for the money.
We made reservation on the recommendation of a friend. We have a dog and she said this place accommodates well. Motel 6 is very affordable so we didnt expect luxury. Our place was clean and comfortable. Good idea to eliminate rugs! There was no trace of any pets who had come before us. We did request a larger mattress pad to fit our king bed and it was quickly provided. We will come again.
I am not a fan of Motel 6 on the whole (I find the rooms to be depressing); however, I booked this one on the strength of the Trip Advisor recommendations and in most senses was not disappointed. The room was clean, which is my primary concern. We were lucky enough to get one that had been renovated. I like not having sticky carpeting and the bathroom was great! The bed was comfortable enough. Our only problem was that we requested a quiet room and Im sure the very friendly desk staff thought she was putting us in that type of situation. However, she (or someone else) subsequently housed a large number of students in the rooms across from and adjoining ours and they were obviously having a terrific time! We called the desk and someone did come up in a timely manner and we could hear one young mans sincere apology, then the slamming of doors (ours had been renovated with a quiet close mechanism but theirs had not). Later, more laughing, screaming and general noise. I suppose we could have called again, but they eventually stopped and settled down and we did not take revenge when we left at 7:00 AM. I dont know if theres a solution to this kind of situation, but if you can figure that out, it would be helpful.
Snow removal is terrible. Parking lot is slippery and covered in snow. The pictures online arent even this hotel. Apparently its a generic photo. Is what the lady at the front desk told me. Just because the picture shows a refrigerator dont trust it. Thats extra. AND the refrigerator wont even be turned on. For some dumb reason.
The price was low which I appreciated very much fir a quick snooze. It was a bare bones hotel. The front desk employee was super friendly. The room had no art on the walls and felt very stark. There was some weird marks on the bathroom wall and a couple long dark hairs on the bathroom towels. There was also an intimidating sign on the door the recommended locking your door and deadbolting for safety. The pillows were aweful! Three tiny flat pillows in a king size bed.
For the price it was okay. For a one night stay it is acceptable. But the place needs to be refurbished. And it smells funny throughout the building. And it was not clean looking, and there was garbage in the stairways. And why does a kingsize bed for two people have only three pillows. And why do the sheets look brownish in spots. I am sure they had been washed, just permanently stained.
Though our room was simple, with wood floors and no artwork, it was clean and seemed to be newly renovated. The parking lot was well lit and the staff was friendly. We forgot our shampoo and the main desk provided it with a smile. People were using the backyard barbeque for dinner and seemed to be enjoying the pleasant weather.
Where do I begin? I paid $70 to sleep in a room that smelled like urine. I couldn’t wait to leave. And then someone left dirty clothes in the bathroom from who knows where. Not very good housekeeping. I felt like I was staying in a dump. I should’ve slept in my car that night. I would’ve saved a lot of money and it wouldn’t have smelled so bad. I understand it was a pet hotel. But it smelled and looked like no ones cleaned that place in years. Very disappointed.
We walked into our non- smoking room and were immediately hit by a very strong smell of smoke. When I complained to the manager she basically said sorry but too bad! There were no other rooms since it was graduation weekend. Our only choice was to check out and get our money back. Seriously? It was 11:30 p.m. and almost every other hotel was booked solid expect the ones in the $250-300 and up range. At it was, this Motel 6 doubled their rate for this particular night. Having no choice but to stay, we asked for some sort of compensation, especially given the very high cost for such a low budget room. (We paid $166 in total for this bare bones no frills room.) The manager came up to the room and said she didnt smell anything but at the same time admitted that others have complained about this problem. The smoking rooms were right next door and she said that the smoke gets into the ventilation system. She even said the owners ought did this problem. In effect, she knew that this was a problem but didnt want to compensate us because she was worried about losing her job. In the end she offered us 10% off the cost of the room. I appreciated her gesture although $16 back was hardly the compensation I was looking for. I had a headache all night from the smell. In a nutshell, unless you are a smoker or dont care about the strong smell of second-hand smoke, do not stay at this place! In hindsight I wish I had spent more for a more decent place to stay. Im not picky as far as hotel rooms. After all, we just needed a place to sleep. But when you cant even sleep because of a headache due to the smell, thats a big problem!
Motel Six has come a long way and for 50 something a night its a place to hang your hat and get a clean shower. The towels are as big as your back and not a lot of plugs in the room. The vinyl wood floor and desk were good and it was a nice hot clean shower. The floor was a little dirty. If you want bells and whistles go down the street but we were not spending any time in the room except to shower and sleep and leave so it was the perfect place and price!
Great price for a pretty good room. Bed was comfy, room very clean. Theres a bit of a Swedish style modular furniture vibe going down that makes the room feel almost aggressively European, which may or may not be your cup of tea. There was some noise in the hallway, but nothing late at night and we slept perfectly well. Would recommend.
The people at this Motel was so nice. I went to go rent my room. The price on the room was a couple of dollars than what the man quoted me on the phone. It was only 68.00. For 2 seniors and one adult. When I went to go rent my room. The electric went out. The man let me sit in the lobby. He even pulled a chair out for me. He didnt have to do that with all the Covid going on. Then we went to go get something to eat. He called me to let me know that the electric was back on. When it was time to check out. We wasnt ready. The made gave us time and waited on us with no problem. She was very nice. Theese people know the meaning of common courtesy. It was a very pleasant stay. If I am ever back in Binghamton. I will stay at this Motel.
We had a second floor room nearly in the farthest corner. other than walking past other rooms, I think it worked out well. We had no comments from staff nor fellow stayers. so, okay.Coffee only in lobby... ice machine and snack machine across hall from that...The room was clean. AC was needed and okay. shower good. one of our better stays.
The stay was average. There was no refrigerator or microwave, thats been a let down. The room atmosphere was good. One of the lamp was not working properly. The stay was quite cheap, so you will get what you paid for. No breakfast available in the morning, you only have coffee. So, overall an average stay with no add ons.
The hotel was comfortable enough, and the AC was frigid cold, the only complaint I had was the smell... The hallways smelled like bug spray (not the outdoor kind, but kind of like raid), and the room had a funk to it. I wasnt able to pin it down, but when I would walk in, the room smelled like a mix between horse barn and wet dog. I dont know if the last guests had a dog or not, but it wasnt all that pleasant. All in all, it was a decent room for the $75 dollars/night paid. Would I stay there again? Probably not unless my other options were exhausted.
Our room was very, very tired looking....schoolhouse chairs....the walls looked yellow from smoke....did not feel comfortable in that room at all....could not get out fast enough the next morning. No kleenex in room, as well as no bath supplies-certainly was a no frills, which would have been fine if it was clean and fresher looking. Whatever had been sprayed in the room prior to us entering, was way too strong....it bothered me for hours!
The floor would have been more comfortable than the beds. They popped, shifted, and I woke up feeling like crap. The hallways and foyers were overdone with air freshness to the point I thought it was chemical warfare. The floors were bare which typically isnt a big deal, but I have expected some carpet in all of my hotel stays for a comfy bare foot experience. Never again, Id rather sleep in the car.
I booked two rooms as I was traveling with my elderly mother and my daughter. My daughter and I were happy with the experience but my mother had a terrible night due to something rattling off and on all night and keeping her awake. She was quite distraught as we were traveling to a wedding and she needed rest. She called the front desk twice and they said they would investigate. I dont know if they did or not but she was very unhappy.
Pleasant staff. Very clean. Noisy clientele. Had I known this was a residential motel, I would have stayed elsewhere. Way too much coming and going past the rooms of overnight travelers trying to get peace and quiet. I had to ask staff to ask others to keep voices down in the hall. Would recommend posting signs and telling guest at check in conversations belong in rooms and outside, not in halls. Dont assume people know this. Walls are way too thin to contain sound.
I asked for the no smoker room but you gave me a former smoker room with awful smel. They hotel worker have to spray the deodorant so that we can be able to sleep in the room.We were not able to stand the same odor the next day so we changed the room, the new room was most better but has one issue the noise from they car passing on the street.
I have stayed at many Motel 6 facilities and have generally been very pleased. However, this room had an overpowering scent over a strong smoke odor that permeated everything in the room and spread to my stuff. In addition, the bathroom was dirty, complete with hair on the floor. But the worst part was what appeared to be mold on large sections of ceilings and walls. Black specs over 4x4 sections on the ceiling and about seven other areas in the room and bathroom. Paint and wallboard around the window was buckled and had been wet with no repairs even attempted. I explained my concern about the mold, the clerk showed no interest but said she would have maintenance check the room.
Sorry - but I never had an experience like this before. Got cards for our room at the desk to find that another person was staying in the room. The front desk change our room - our new room had mold on the walls and the wood floor boards bulking. We were finally moved to another room. Didnt feel safe in the motel after that. We could not move to another hotel since everything was booked.
Our first assigned room was musty and damp smelling. We were told it was likely the room hadn’t been rented in a while and would go away after running the A/C unit for a while. We asked for a new room. In the new room we saw black spots on the sheets which we knew to be a sign of bed bugs. When we lifted the mattress we found an abundance of casings and several bed bugs. We checked out and went next door. The front desk staff was friendly.
I asked for a corner room on the top floor. We checked in late and ended up with the top floor, but right next to the stairs. The door was slamming all night. In the morning, I asked for a room change and was granted one with no hesitation...also, no apology :( The rooms were dated, but very clean although both rooms smelled a little funky till the a.c. was cranked up. Same thing with the hallway. It smelled like cup-o-soup.
Dont understand the bad reviews. My room was sparking without the new paint smell. Parquet floors instead of dirty rugs, new (not fancy but new) furnishings, like new tub insert without the cigarette burns. Ya, they have scratchy towels but I prefer them that way. Just an economical gem.
We need a handicapped room and the one we were given was decent. However, the soap was very poor and the shower in the bathroom didnt work well, the place is being renovated (slowly) so both times we stopped there the hallways (but not the rooms) were in disarray, and our request for an extra pillow was denied because they had no spare pillow. The bathroom and room in general was clean, mattresses good, and I felt it was a reasonable value for the money.
If you need a place to stay and have pets and a tight budget, like I did, this is your best bet. Extremely reasonable rates, especially for an extended stay. I called a room here home for a full month, with my two cats, last November. At a $325 weekly rate, you get a no frills, but pleasant place. They loose a star for charging $25 a week extra to have a refrigerator in your room, but gain some for having a couple washers and dryers so you can do laundry on-site.
Great place to stay, the room was nice and very affordable. The missing 5th star was due to very noise neighbors and a barking dog left in someone’s car overnight. Shortly after calling the front desk the barking ceased which was reassuring. I love Motel 6 whenever I travel, which is often.
Not completely terrible if youre low on funds, and only staying a night. Id never stay again. It smelled like dog pee all throughout the hotel. The toilet didnt even work, but at least there was a nice tv... We booked for 4 nights, but only could handle the smell of pee smell in the A.C. for 1 night. Marissa at the front desk was nice though.
We arrived late but the reception staff was friendly. While the room and bathroom were both clean, the room was so damp, it was like being inside a soggy sponge. No wonder theres no carpet on the floors. We turned the heat on in the hopes it would dry out but no such luck. We didnt try to change rooms as we figured anything else would be just the same.
I had no problems overall. The room was clean. Everything worked. Walls are pretty light (could definitely hear noises coming from the other room (as far as 2 doors down) but wasnt a dealbreaker for me. I personally drowned out the noises by putting the tv louder (good tv btw) Staff was nice. Easy check in/check out. While I didnt take any coffee or tea, it was offered to me. I didnt use room service, but they did give me fresh towels and toilet paper when they came around. Wood floors were a nice touch, overall a good no-frills stay.Theres a variety of food options when you go up north, from Dennys, Friendlys, Wendys to take-out chinese food. All about a 10-15 minute walk or a 5 minute or so car ride. Also a supermarket directly next door
I spent a night at this motel. The reservation and checking in process was very easy. Unfortunately I could not get into the building or in my room with the keys I was given. It took two tries to make the key work. The room it was very clean. In the morning I did not get the check out papers and I left for work. Later that day I got a phone call from the owner telling me that I left a lot of smoke in the nonsmoking room and that he is going to charge me.I am not a smoker and I reserved a nonsmoking room!!! I answered. He then proceed to ask me who smocked in his room. I told him that I have no idea who has keys to his rooms and what they do in there, but I am not the one how smocked in there.I called back l since I believed that it was a prank call. At that time I was told that my card was charged $50.00 for smocking in a nonsmoking room and they are sure it was me since I made the reservation that night! My response was that I will take them to court so they will have the opportunity to tell the same story to a judge and also I would have my side of the story heard by the judge. After that they issue a refund of the charge.Be aware if you make reservation at this place when you leave make sure you ask them to come to the room to sign out for the condition you leave the room in!!!
Its a pay what you get kind of place but better. Yes its cheap. Yes it sometimes smells like curry and its a little humid, but its clean. Spacious. Modern. I had an enjoyable 3 night stay with my gf for her friends wedding and the staff was great. If we needed something, theyd be there super quick and friendly. Will definitely stay again.
Room was clean and didnt have to wait to check-in. Staff was friendly and very efficient. Stayed here with a dog and there is space to walk him. In a nice area with shopping and restaurants all around. One of the better Motel 6s that I have stayed at over the years. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Check in was smooth, and the young lady behind the counter was very nice. We drove around to the back entrance to get to our room, and noticed several rough looking individuals milling around the parking lot and entrance. It was my wife, myself and 2 dogs. I got her and the dogs out of the van, and as soon as we walked into the motel hallway, we were hit with the overwhelming smell of marijuana. The room was clean, beds were okay. It was decent for a quick few hours sleep after driving all day. I would recommend maybe keeping an eye on your parking lot and doing something about ventilating the halls when they reek of cheap pot.
Starting with the positive, the room itself was okay. No complaints about the beds, the tv was nice.Stepping into the motel, you are blasted with the overwhelming smell of lemon that forces your imagination to try and think of what could possibly smell so bad they need this much lemon to cover it up. There were a group of very questionable people screaming all night and fighting next door. I wanted to see if I could keep my leftover food cold for the night, the clerk told me that would be a 10 dollar fee. A tiny space on a shelf of your fridge is costing me nearly 20% of what I paid for the entire room.
The manager tried to steal from me i caught him in my room several times i checked out early because he made me uncomfortable, an hr after i checked out i received a notif4that he tried to charge me money thankfully i had video footage to prove he was in the wrong i was refunded and called corporate i submitted the video footage i sugges anone y go to small claims court if this man tries to rob you
UPDATE: Our linens were only changed once during our 12-day stay, despite my complaints.I am writing to complain about the Motel 6 on Front Street in Binghamton, NY. I stay here every year for a nearby festival. This year has been nothing but problems, however.1. Although I made my 2 week reservation in February for a room with a king bed and a fridge, when we arrived, that room had been given to someone else. We rely on fridge access to keep food costs down. So we had to take a room with 2 smaller beds and now I cannot sleep with my husband for 2 weeks. Also, they only credited us $3.00/night for not having the fridge, even though the sign on the lobby counter clearly states it is $5.00/night to have one.2. Our room has not been properly cleaned. The bathroom sink has not been wiped down, the floor has not been swept, our linens have not been changed, and this was our 4th day. In fact, today the room was not cleaned at all. We had the Privacy sign out until 10:00 am, but removed it before we left for the day. In fact the housekeeping cart was directly outside our door when we left, and the room still was not cleaned. The trash is beginning to pile up.3. I have politely asked to talk to the manager 3 times so far, but s/he is never around, and refuses to contact me back. This is completely unacceptable, and I am very disappointed. I have stayed at many Motel 6 locations up and down the east coast, and this is the first time I have had anything like this happen. I will be sending an extremely negative review to online sources, mainly because the manager does not appear to be willing to try to resolve anything. Quite frankly, if this is the way this motel is run, they do not deserve the Motel 6 brand.
The room was very clean. But The bed was the worst night sleep Ive ever had. I woke up feeling awful and sore. My mother was also very sore. The springs in the mattress were so noisy and hard. The room was nice but they really need to put some effort in the sleeping department. Updating the mattresses are a must.
This was one of the better Motel6 locations I have ever stayed at. Front desk person was helpful and friendly. She came to fix the settings on my room heater immediately (they had been messed up by the previous guest). The room was minimally furnished, but I would rather have that than lots of tacky furniture in bad shape. The bed was large and comfortable. No breakfast (none was advertised) but the staff had tea and coffee available in the lobby from 5AM. The location was ideal, near the interstate with plenty of places to eat nearby.Overall a good stay for the price, no frills (e.g. no coffee maker in room) but the place was safe and comfortable.
The hot water handle fell off in the shower. The rug was dirty in the room I was in but the sheets are clean and the bathroom is clean. Its about what you would expect for the price. Good place to sleep if youre just passing thru and need a cheap place to stay for the night
Well my sister and I use to stay here often but our last stay was not a pleasant one paid almost 200dollars for 3 nights got refunded 66.33 just spent 20 dollars on spray now on our way to spend more money to go to a laundry mat so we don’t bring bugs into our home was also told the owner or whoever may refund us the rest of our money we checked out at 8 am and heard nothing back. So needless to say not happy at all and we travel all the way from West Virginia
The room was functional. The location is good; easy off the highway - however I missed the entrance coming north on Front Street because a tree completely blocked the sign. I missed the iron in the room.Wall outlets are in short supply. The office service was excellent. A very friendly and helpful woman.
There were bed bugs --as in more than one in our bed. Both bath towels were dirty --not just stained, DIRTY. We called the front desk to have them replaced and no one answered the phone. The outside door leading to the motel rooms did not lock. Definitely would not recommend this motel.
Fall 2017: Nice stay, friendly staff, clean room, a/c worked well. Had problems on first night in one room with remote for TV and toilet that did not flush properly. Checked out but cam back next day and stayed in another room, that room was much better. Will stay there again as I have stayed there before. Improved since last time but still some glitches.Last Stay: I have stayed in many Motel 6s. This one used to be good then went down the tubes but was refurbishd in recent years. So, you would think it would be a nice place. Yet, when I shpowered, I wound up taking a bath because the water filled the tub about 5 to 6 inches deep within 7 to 8 minutes because the drain did not work properly. I asked that they put some drain cleaner into it and was assured they would take care of that and that they also would clean what appeared to be black mold off of the inside of the tub. When I got back to my room that day, nothing had changed. Tub still did not drain right and the moldy looking stuff was still there. In addition, the halls were pretty filthy especially near the entrances, mud all over the place. This is the second stay in last few months where this particular Motel 6 was a disappointment. I am guessing I will try Red Roof Inn my next weekend in the area. I must give kudos though to the guy at the front desk though, very polite and efficient at check-in.
We arrived at your establishment to be told that one of the three rooms reserved six months prior had been cancelled the previous week? No one had an answer to who cancelled it since I certainly did not as the occasion was our daughters graduation and we were bringing relatives. We were then accommodated with a smoking room and as we arent smokers was not very pleasant. We were then told that we also requested one of the rooms to have a fridge (witch we did not) and that would be an extra charge. At this point we took the rooms and paid the extra for the fridge. All in all we were quite disappointed and will think long and hard about ever staying at a Motel 6 again. I would appreciate your feedback.
It was a great stay other thank some Indian dude i think the manager was threatening to call the cops on someone because they wanted a refund, from what i heard the room smelled of urine tge guy wanted a refund not sure what the problem was i would have wanted a refund too
Room was clean and tidy at arrival. WiFi was free and fairly fast. Room lacked adequate number of outlets for a family of 4 each with their own phone to charge. Entrance into building could use more clearly labeled doors, with numbers of the rooms closest to that door. No luggage cart available for check in or check out.
The room was just that, ok, no frills, I didnt expect any, and very basic. So therefore I got what I paid for.My complaints, room has a musty odor, bed was super uncomfortable.Positives, gotta have good feedback too. Staff, Angel and Morning girl, (I forget her name) both super pleasant to deal with. Booking and check out were very seamless, as I would expect, although stranger things have happened.Room did have upgraded flooring, hardwood like solid surface floor, which I prefer over the typical carpet found in most hotel rooms. Bathroom was clean, plenty of towels.Good location, I have stayed here before many years ago, because of price and location, which is why I returned.Outside of the managements control, more negative reviews. The walls are paper thin, and I was awoken at 3AM to the screams and moans of the couple in the room next to mine having intercourse. Thankfully it didnt last more than 15 min. (Surprised it went that long) She was very voicestrous during the performance. Guess she couldnt get enough of his D or shes a good actress. Perhaps an aspiring adult film star. Then they played some Drake so I guess that balanced out the loud noises from earlier. That was on till I departed around 5:15am. I had a dirtbike race that morning in Deposit, NY, where there arent any hotels. (Reason why I prefer this location.)For the most part, I am satisfied, I wasnt expecting the Ritz Carlton, but for the rate, $70 after tax for a night, it could have been a bit better. Thanks for reading.
To start the room was filthy. So much that we slept with sheets and heat on 82. We had to plunge our own toilet with a filthy plunger. We asked for extra towels and were told no we dont have any extra. After we check out the manager calls us asking why there are no blankets in the room. Our response from day one we gave them to the cleaning lady and threw them right in the hallway. Our dogs bed we brought we threw in the dumpster because it was on the disgusting floor. Overall place was filthy and the workers were sleeping on the job . The manager had some pair of balls with how that room was under the bed, the quilts and overall service NEVER AGAIN
Check out time was 11 a.m. I left before 10 to go have breakfast. I left my toiletries in the bathroom. When I returned at 10:45 a.m., the door to my room was open and housekeeping had already cleaned the room and confiscated my toiletries be placed in the lost and found. I indicated that I had not yet checked out. The woman said something about their information indicating otherwise. There was no do not disturb or privacy sign that I could have placed on the door to prevent housekeeping from cleaning the room.
Stopped here for a night on our way to Niagara falls from New York city. Convenient and secluded location, rooms are good, ample parking space, right off the highway. The walls were a little thin though, could hear the TV in the next room. Overall nice stay if you are not really picky.
First and foremost Id like to note that the stuff was very pleasant and polite and I didnt have a single problem with anyone. I did have a problem with the walls being paper thin. My friend and I were up until 4 am because drunk girls kept trotting up and down the hallway making loud noises and laughing. Another person staying in the hotel went out in the hallway and yelled at them and it only seemed to fuel the fire because they continued on for another half hour... It seemed like we finally got some sleep only to be woken up at 630 am when people were checking out. There were people right outside our door having a full blown conversation and I could hear the everything they were saying word for word. After not being able to sleep I decided to hop in the shower where I found someone elses hair. It was completely disgusting. My friend and I hadnt used the shower the night before as we had planned on showering before we left. The stay at Motel 6 was awful and I was completely exhausted and traveling for work. I was completely disappointed in the stay. I would only recommend this hotel as a last resort, especially for the price. I paid $63.99 (w/o tax) for the room and got 2 double beds and a tv. At another hotel I paid $15 more and had double beds, a kitchenette, tv, peace & quite, and the room was quite spacious. The price of the room didnt match the quality or cleanliness at all. Again, I am extremely disappointed that I wasted money on this room. I wish I had went somewhere else.
Rooms are new and clean. My toilet had a nut missing on the flush lever which should have been fixed (its a $0.20 part at any hardware store) but it still worked with some care. Bed was ok and clean I dont like the pillows but I never do Id bring my own if it were an option. Ive seen some real dumps in Binghamton so this is about as good as youll find for the price in this area.
Stayed here while out of town for work, found a living cockroach running on the tv. Soft beds, clean linen. Need to get an exterminator as well as microwaves amd mini fridges in all rooms. Previous room paid same amount both visits, this visit room had no microwave or fridge.
We have been staying here for a number of years when we visit Binghamton on Thanksgiving and Christmas. We will never do so again. There was only one night table not two. The telephone did not work. The refrigerator stated making a strange noise at about 112:30. When my wife went to check it out she stepped into a large puddle of water. The refrigerator was not cooling at all. When she unplugged the refrigerator she had to watch how she stood so that she wouldnt be electrocuted by stepping in water. On top of this, our room faced the interstate and the noise kept us awake a great deal of the night. We complained the next morning and the helpful person at the desk found another room for us but we had to spend Thanksgiving morning moving things from one room to another. We asked her to speak to the owner about giving us something off for our troubles. She spoke to the owner and he said that he would not give us anything at all because we were paying the lowest rate. We were also told that the property has recently gone through an ownership change. Well, this owner should take some business courses because there is a thing called The Price of Good Will, Based on our long term relationship here and the fact that we planned to stay here on Christmas he should have invested some of his money to keep a good customer satisfied. We immediately found somewhere else to stay for Christmas. Therefore, his immediate loss was $150. He will also lose $250 for next year and all years remaining. This is not about the money. It is about the fact that the new owner did nothing to show me that I am a valued customer. My guess is that if this is how he treats his repeat customers then he has no respect for one timers either. I would think that if that is the case, the property will soon be undergoing another ownership change. This is not the way to gain loyalty. I have never gone through a room change and had this much difficulty without getting something off my bill. Our days at this Motel 6 are now history and if this is how Motel 6 trains its owners then we are very unlikely to stay at another Motel 6 either. We are extremely dissatisfied!!
Called and booked a room that was supposed to be smoking. Turns out it wasnt. Went to the front desk and was told I couldnt change rooms but I could smoke in there. The next day the hotel owner is pounding on my door yelling no smoking. Tried explaining to him what happened ,he speaks almost no English and has no understanding of English. One of the worst hotel experiences yet
I stayed with my 2 children who are 12 for a Destination imagination competition. We picked it because it was right across ftom the college at a good price. It was dingy. I went to plug in the light and there was so much dirt and grime on snd around it I didnt want to touch it. The smoke detector top was totally off. The fan in the bathroom had no off switch so it was on all night. At 3am the upstairs toilet overflowed and came pouring out of the fan. Front desk came and put towels on the floor and a bucket. They continued to snake the drain for another half hour. Sounded like someone was sawing. They next morning they actually expected me to pay for the room. When i said something, the mansgement offered 50 percent off. Thank goodness the girl at the front desk understood how upset I was and she refunded me everything.
We always stay at the Motel 6 in Binghamton, NY, twice a year. We think it is good value with no perks, just a clean bed and a clean room. One thing thing that bothers me, though, is the condition of the floors of the showers in many rooms we have stayed in. They are ingrained with filth that can no longer be cleaned off. I bring flip flops to wear, so I dont catch anything undesirable. I have told management about this filth, but nothing is being done about it. The showers have a built in rough Mat on the floor of the shower and it is ingrained with dirt! I wish they would upgrade their shower inserts, as this is unhealthy and undesirable! Clean accommodations are important to our family!
Stayed here January 2012. No problems with the room. Some mold in the bathroom if you looked for it, but thats common in Motel 6s and in part due to the strange finish they use on bathroom walls - if theyd just make them smooth and shiny the mold would have less surface to grow on and wipe off a lot easier (of course, I stayed in a Days Inn and they had the same finish - it must be cheap to put up). This Motel 6 has local cable TV instead of satellite and actually has about twice as many channels as some of the others Ive stayed in. Only odd thing I noted was they had signs up that they would not have water for a few days the week after my stay - odd because apparently they intended to remain open just the same. Whos going to stay in a room where you wont even be able to flush the toilet?
Poor lighting does not make up for poor housekeeping. A bit of quality control would do wonders. Dont forget to look under the bed. The non-smoking room and hallway smelled of stale smoke. The hall carpet is a trip hazard. Seriously, all inexpensive hotels in this area have poor reviews. A bit more effort would bring better reviews and keep the utilization factor high. I thought this would be the lowest risk, but if I stay in the area again, I will try another.
This is the worst hotel I ever stayed at! I usually go to motel 6 because it is very convenient for me and my puppy BUT this place had rat crap under the beds, the sheets were very stained and a lot of wholes. The smell of the room was terrible! The staff I must say that I was shocked when I was offered to buy weed! Wow! I m just speechless! Dont go there if u dont want to get sick of something!
As a traveller with pets, I cant say enough about the service Motel 6 offers. All other hotels/motels say they are pet friendly but when you get there there always seems to be an issue and they want to charge per room per pet. That to me is pet accepting, Motel 6 is definitely pet friendly and I will for sure be staying with you from now on and I have highly recommended you to my friends who travel with their pets
Room was clean. No drawers whatsoever. Small bar soap, but enough for three of us to shower. No shampoo or tissues - but I knew that ahead of time because I read reviews. I had them give me new towels immediately because there was a hair folded into one. I was told that the lady who works in the laundry room has long black hair and it is probably hers. No disgusting carpet. Usually, even when I stay at higher end hotels, white socks become black when walking on them just getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It may be cold with bare feet, but much cleaner. $5 extra a night to rent a fridge and microwave every night. If you are on a tight budget, you can bring a cooler - they have a decent ice machine. There is a public microwave by the vending machines/laundry room. If you reserve the room online (or through the app) 30 or 60 days ahead of time, and you stay multiple nights, the rate is about $40 a night before taxes which is half of what other local hotels start at. No breakfast, but a breakfast plate at McDonalds up the road is $3. You can also eat at the Spot for about $10 a person. You can also just go to Aldis, Price Chopper or Weis and buy granola bars or breakfast cookies. Free coffee is in the lobby in the morning.Flat screen HDTV in the room has two easily accessible HDMI ports and two USB ports that are also easily accessible. I plugged my laptop into it to have a large screen. There arent a lot of outlets. I had to unplug a light to plug in my laptop. I usually travel with a small power strip, but I forgot to pack it this time.
The motel is nice enough, but there are better deals elsewhere. At this Motel 6 you pay more for less. If you go to the Red Roof Inn in Johnson City, youll pay less money for more. At Motel 6 I had rooms with no mini fridge, microwave or dresser and paid more than I did for rooms with all 3 at the Red Roof Inn in Johnson City, NY.
Nice clean motel. Staff is super nice. Rebooked our room a second night online, not only did it go through within seconds but when i went down to the lobby to tell them and redo the key cards the receptionist at the desk already had everything done. The best service ive had at a motel or hotel to date. Totally recommend it!!
I asked for a smoking room but I put a note saying that I wanted a quiet area. I would have gladly far gone smoking to have a quiet area and I checked in with my one and a half year old daughter. The person working an older lady put me in the smoking section but failed to tell me it was going to be a Non-Stop drug party. After many complaints to the later desk worker who was a smaller petite size woman, she went out of her way to ask people to be quiet many times to no avail. She threatened to call the police but didnt actually call I dont really blame her whatsoever she did a very good job. But it is embarrassing and I had to switch rooms I wanted a refund and she refused to give me one I did not get a good night sleep and I had to move my daughter in the middle of the night because crackheads get priority apparently. Ive stayed at many hotels all over the country many different times and I have never experienced a hotel where the people being loud and partying get to stay. Just my thoughts.
I only needed to be there for a night, was there late and leaving early with my kids.Less than savory people on premises that is life. The pillows were thin, only one per p. Blankets very stiff and the bed very very uncomfy. The door, we didnt use much since the mechanism that the door handle works with, slides into the hole so you cant open the door from either side without jigging with it this could be a very big fire hazard. Ill spend 10 more an go somewhere else. As it is my room was 20 bucks more than advertised on the sign. $100 CDN to camp out.
Typical motel 6 basically, helpful staff, clean but slightly wornout rooms in some ways, no bugz and nice looking facility. Only negative is they still have a throw back from the old day attitude about amenities, no they dont charge extra for wifi but micro/fridge....yes u pay extra
I forgot to ask for a disabled room. Knowing I would have 2 trips and I do not walk well for many different issues, I took, the cat, my computer, and my cpap to my room first. I did not make it to the half way mark when the manager saw me gasping for breath and leaning against the wall. He picked my stuff and carried it to my room. No one has done that for me before. The next morning I had a uHaul with a tow dollie pulling my car and I parked about 5 spots behind this tractor and trailer, knowing I would need that space to pull out. Someone park right in between. I went to the desk and the agent could not find the vehicle but the manager knew where it was. He went to their room, they gave him the key and he moved the vehicle for me.I believe this was exceptional customer service. While there is not much amendments, the customer service makes up for it in ten folds.
Overall I enjoyed the staff and the room but not all the construction on the roads. It makes it hard for somebody visiting to get around to see the sights. I did find a nice Italian restaurant down the road which I enjoyed. It was easier getting out of town then getting into town.. Ill leave it at that
Avoid this motel! I paid for a one week stay, paying up front and signing the credit card slip at the time of check-in. Come to find out a few weeks later, the motel charged my credit card for an additional two days that I did not stay for and obviously did not sign for. I tried to address it several times with both the front desk clerk and the manager and they would not reverse the charges. I am currently working with my credit card company to have it resolved. This has taken up way too much of my time and energy to try and get my money back for a fraudulent error that the motel made.
Weve lodged at This motel 6 before. The reason we stay here other than the price is your daytime front desk representative Angel. She is very accommodating to our requests. She gives service with a smile, and weve gotten to know her over the past three years during our stay.
You get what you pay for. Bring your own shampoo, lotion (the water will dry you out bad), towel (theirs is like sandpaper), shower shoes (shower had a grey/black floor from peoples feet). The shower had pubic hairs on the side where the soap. The room was ok however you could hear the cars from the hwy. And starting around 5am the traffic noise gets so bad that you can sleep. This is not a place I will bring my family. This is the kind of place you bring a one night stand.
No fridge or microwave in the room. Microwave is in the room with the ice and snakes. The do have a washer and dryer there and it costs 2.00 for each. It just seemed a little out dated. Coffee in the AM. It was cheaper the the others and know I know why. I would stay there again because I would only be there for a few hours to crash during a trip.
I come to Binghamton once a month and we always stay here at motel 6. The only complaint I have is We get there late and ask for late check out. Most hotels do 1pm where yours is 12. But at 11am every time someone is always banging on our door to Check out. I request it cause we drive far and always check in after 10. If you can somehow your staff figure out who the late check outs are would be great. Otherwise I like the motel.
I tried to make a reservation and it ended up reserved for the wrong night. After I was charged a no show fee, I called Guest Relations and they requested me a credit but the hotel refused to do so. I also asked if I could just switch it to the right date and they said that the manager would call me back but never did. They wouldnt even give me the common courtesy of returniing my call. A BUNCH OF CROOKS
Im glad I was able to rest without being interrupted. Thanks for the hot coffee. I didnt like tge way my room smelled. I dont care for anaimals in hotels. I love A.C.. the one in the room did not blow extremely cold like I wanted. I was still sweating. I will stay again in the future.
I called late last night looking for a room wonderful older woman helped and was great service but I checked in got my room and as soon as I walked in the odor of weed made me sick to my stomach they were help full and changed my room no problem but my second room was not cleaned hair tooth paste all over shower one bed was slept in and you could tell the housekeeper just put the blanket on it with out changing sheets I work in housekeeping at a high end hotel I would of lost my job if I ever done that yes I understand it isnt a fancy hotel but come on at least do your job worst 80 dollars I have ever spent too just sleep for a few hours should of slept in my car...
Very kind staff always there 24/7 to assist and aid in any detail you might encounter.Very clean rooms and building in that manner actually I was surprised in the cleanliness, very good I would say yes to family and children staying the night or even the weekend while you explore the town and cities nearby great spot right on front street

2022-05-01I would choose this place over the Hampton Inn , while yes it is timely there is nothing wrong with that. The room was immaculately clean, the bed was more comfortable than the Sheridan, the AC purred at just the right noise level, it was quite , low budget, good area, and the staff was very nice and friendly. The ONLY thing I would say to the hotel in specific to up their already amazing quality is: get some sheet stoppers to withhold the sheets in place and I’d recommend 4 pillows for a king size not 3. Other than myself being picky on those two things I truly am amazed at the quality with this low of a price(under $100) the previous night I stayed at a Hampton and it cost ($296) almost triple for less quality and cleanliness!

2022-06-23We had a pet room. It was very clean but had few amenities other than clean towels and linen. However, the air conditioner worked very well, the king size bed was comfortable, and overall quite adequate for an overnight stay.

2022-04-21It is what it is... a no-frills motel. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. My only complaint is there was a fair amount of noise when we were trying to settle in for the night and this got our dogs riled up.But when all is said and done it was a clean, comfortable, no-frills hotel.

2022-06-20We chose this place because we wanted to cut our nyc trip from toronto in half. For the price I did not expect much. The location isnt that great since they have so many flies outside the motel. We booked a room with 2 queen beds but got 2 double beds instead. The beds and pillows werent comfortable. Only soap was given in the bathroom. If you have the money just spend a bit more on a better place like a fairfield inn to make your experience better. Im just glad the room and bathroom was clean. That is key.

2022-04-05Positive: Room was clean. Front area had a mildew smell to it, but was clean. Front desk staff was very personable. I was pleasantly surprised. Negative: No alarm clock in the room.

2022-06-22I like the pricing and the desk staff, but it takes way to long for these house keepers. Theres 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, why are the floors trashed until 4pm, why is theres big bags of garbage in the hallway and why is house keeping walking around still cleaning after 3pm, they have 1 floor, personally hire someone that knows what they are doing.

2022-06-29Nice place to get away for a couple of days. Convenient location, clean, staff friendly and the price is probably the lowest in thr area. I would stay here again.

2022-04-20Update your online pricing. Website says $69 a night for a single room with no fridge. Upon arrival Im quoted $118. Price gouging because of the power outage in the area? $49 more is very excessive over the advertised price on your own website.

2022-04-02The beds were uncomfortable the windows were disgusting there is food stains on the walls. You couldnt open the windows and there was no way to adjust the heat. There is a lot of activity going on so this place would not be good for kids. Not worth $105

2022-06-06I had a wonderful four-night stay. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for being so friendly and kind.
