TL;DR - Moving Pros, Inc. is a bait-and-switch scam with absolutely dreadful and dishonest customer service. STAY AWAY.My family and I moved from Texas to New Hampshire and decided to go with Moving Pros Inc. after fielding quotes from several different companies. Our salesman, Michael (who also goes by Ed) quoted me a price of $2549 for 600 cubic ft. Since this wasnt an in-person walk through I knew my total cost would rise but I was OK with that and I went ahead and booked for our backup date of July 1st, as my initial pickup date of June 30th had become unavailable. Michael also told me that while our contract stated 14-21 business days for delivery that their crews moved quickly and our belongings would be delivered in approximately 5-6 business days, regardless of the July 4th holiday. On June 30th, I received a call from Tim who told me that my original date of July 1st had become unavailable and that I would have to be moved back to July 2nd. I told him that this wasnt possible as my schedule wouldnt allow me to wait in TX and Michael and I had already agreed on using the backup date. Tim told me that he had another job in the area that day and agreed to honor July 1st. He gave me a five-hour window in which the truck would arrive. I started to doubt my choice in movers at this point...The crew arrived on the 1st (in an empty truck - other job?) and did their walk through of our belongings, which aside from large furniture were already packed. The number of boxes we had exceeded what Michael and I had discussed and our crew leader told me it would be an extra $600-700. Since I had anticipated this, I agreed and the crew began loading up. I will say that the three gentlemen who handled the loading were polite, professional and did their jobs well. Once the truck was loaded, I was told that the cost of my move had increased by $1900, not $600-700. I was furious but also on a schedule (that was made only because of the time frame I was given by Moving Pros) and the truck had already been loaded. This is the moment that I knew I was dealing with a bait and switch operation and that I had made a terrible mistake hiring this company.Once we arrived in NH I called Moving Pros to try and determine where our shipment was located and when it might arrive. I was told after repeated calls to their receptionist that messages had been left with logistics and I should expect a callback within 24hrs. When the call didnt arrive, I called Michael (presumably my rep within the company) who seemed confused as to why I would be calling him about my issues. After lodging complaints about the amount of price increase and the companys lack of ability to ballpark when my belongings would arrive he had no answers for me, only reassurance that he would look into it and call me back. I never expected that call and have predictably not received it. I had at this point also yet to hear from the logistics dept. Later that day, I received a call from Ryan who is a supervisor. I repeated my complaints and he told me hed spoken to logistics and that my shipment was scheduled to be delivered on the weekend of Saturday, July 8th. He also offered a $150 discount on the money I would owe at delivery. Yay. Whatever - I got a time frame. On July 7th, I got another call. This time from Tommy in logistics. He was sincerely apologetic and told me that I had been given bad information. My belongings were NOT scheduled for delivery this weekend, they were scheduled to be shipped. He told me he would do everything he could to prioritize my shipment.Ive just finished a call with the shipping company who told me that my shipment was being loaded today, July 10th. When I told him that Moving Pros had informed me it was shipping this weekend, he told me that the warehouses are closed on weekends. Another lie from Moving Pros.To sum up, my familys been moved for a week, were still sleeping on air mattresses and Im left hoping my new boss will give me enough leeway to handle this and still have gainful employment when its all over.
My friend’s mother’s belongings were picked up September 10th. On top of having to pay the driver $2,000 more for them to pick up her stuff, they also left trash on the property she was no longer responsible for AND her stuff has been sitting in Pennsylvania SINCE SEPTEMBER 10th!! She JUST NOW on September 29th was FINALLY able to reach someone via telephone. 19 days later she has been calling every day and unable to hear from someone about her belongings. They still cannot provide her with expected delivery date or any information on her stuff! The two delivery drivers told her 3 days, maximum of 7, to deliver her belongings. The contract has in SUCH FINE PRINT a magnifying glass had to be used stated they had 24 days... and to only count business days even tho dispatch isn’t even available all business days nor is anyone in the company answering calls on all legal business days. DONT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS A MONEY STEALING SCAM! It shouldn’t take $8,000+ and over 20 days to deliver stuff when it was a 17 hour drive from point A to point B!!
Horrible Company. Changed the price by 2x at the time of pick up. Held my stuff hostage on the truck when i refused to pay and told me i had to pay 700 just to take it off the truck. took 2 weeks to get my stuff delivered. When it finally came 60% of my items were crushed and destroyed. Had to help driver unload at final destination because he ws disorganized and under staffed. Left his invoices at my house and harassed me to mail them to him and called 3 times a day until i did. WORST moving company in USA. Arrogant people who take advantage of people because they can. Hope they go out of business soon so people are safe from these scammers.
Moving Pros moved my mothers belongings from Texas to Florida. Not recommended at all. Heres the short list:-Price more than doubled once it was loaded on the truck. I went back later and compared the items list on the estimate to the list of what was loaded and did not see much difference. Some increase is to be expected, just with varying sizes of furniture, but nothing that would have made it double in volume.-Delivery was late. Moving Pros repeatedly said that the delivery window was 14 business days and they would deliver no later than July 17th. The driver finally contacted her on July 18th and said he would be there the morning of the 21st (18 business days - 4 weeks after pickup. He actually showed up a day early on the afternoon of the 20th, giving us only 45 minutes notice. According to their contract, if we couldnt be there within 2 hours, wed be charged $150 an hour.-Customer service was terrible. I called about 3 times a week trying to get updates, as I wanted to be with my mother when the furniture was delivered (in case the price went up again). Any person who answered the phone had a set list of phrases, with the goal only being to get you off the phone. I will make a note and we will contact you when we have an update was my favorite, as they never took my name or number. When asked how they would contact me, they said Caller ID but couldnt tell me my phone number. It is ridiculous that after all this, we still only had 45 minutes notice of delivery. No reason or apology was ever given. The people at Moving Pros simply do not care and do not bother to pretend to care.-Quality assurance is nil. Moving Pros are just moving brokers. That means that the actual move goes to the lowest bidder. When the driver arrived, taking out a couple of tree branches in the process, he found a local company, and hired 3 guys to help unload. Thats why the last payment to the driver has to be cash - so he can pay the others. Moving Pros Inc really has nothing to do with your belongings once you sign the contract. Of course some things were broken, although not by the local guys, who did a great job.Last note: If you dig around, you will find other stories much like this, in between a lot of really similar happy ones that some speculate are written by Moving Pros. I wish we had paid more attention and gone with a different company.
Sammy at moving pros was the BEST! He warned us about the other companies out there and showed us why their company was the best. If I didnt know any better id say Sammy was the owner, that how much faith he has in his company. He was always there to answer questions and his movers were top notch. The last company I moved with sent guys that didnt even speak any English. I had no idea what the were saying. Sammy’s guys were great!
TERRIBLE COMPANY! I usually, dont write reviews for bad experiences but this company takes the cake.First, when they picked up my stuff, the movers damaged a wall. Then, when they dropped my stuff they lost and damaged some rather expensive items. The most notable was probably that they lost our queen size mattress and the bed frame . How do you lose a queen size mattress??? But they didnt lost the box frame. (The driver who dropped off our stuff said that his last two deliveries lost their mattresses too.)Also, they lost a book shelf, a coffee table, and a dining room chair. Our dining room table was damaged as well. After filing the complaint, I waited several months to even hear back from the company; they wouldnt respond to phone calls or emails. When it finally went through, they were offering pocket change in compensation. HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO GET THE REFUND, I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE DOWN ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS! DONT USE THIS COMPANY!
I have a pretty low bar for moving, and I completely understand its a tough job to coordinate the haul of truckloads of goods across the country. That said, my experience with Moving Pros Inc. was beyond abysmal. If I could put it in a few short words, I would describe this as the moving company from hell.It starts with your salesman Ed, who will give you a really early delivery date (knowing full well that the fine print actually gives him nearly a month of wiggle room to quote whatever he wants. If Ed tells you May, you should expect closer to June. His response when I asked why he would even tease us with such a laughably wrong start date? Well technically its possible. Its also technically possible that I win the powerball.)Ed also has a really tough time accurately scoping your move. If you provide him with an approximate list of your goods, he might quote you at 60% the cost. And this isnt whats technically possible here because it actually happened to us.Ed might also surprise you with fees. Again, he has a really hard time giving you an honest quote. When your movers show up to your apartment, he will make sure you are slapped with elevator fees and fee for walking from the elevator to the door. He doesnt mention it even though he knows you are moving to an apartment in Manhattan - go figure, I guess he believes the norm here is no elevators or hallways. But again, he will tell you at the very last minute that it was in the fine print. Thanks Ed.Last but not least, if you are coordinating a move that requires delivery to more than one location, be prepared for your items to end up in the wrong place. We needed a large media console, lamp, and end table to get to Houston, and here they are now sitting in my apt in New York. And it was clearly marked Houston. It kills me to have worked with these guys. Id rather not have my stuff here than have overpaid this company to execute so poorly. I wish I could give negative stars.
Arrived to deliver at 6:30pm, but unloading team didnot arrive until 7:30pm, and did finish unloading until 11:30pm. Did not unpack or unwrap any items which the contract stipulated. Still have huge stack of shipping blankets in my front room. Shipper lost or failed to deliver 15% of my possessions with thousands of dollars in loss. We observed that the boxes not delivered had contained our most valuable possessions. (think there was some cherry picking going on) Filed a loss claim with a third party adjuster and their finding of loss by the third party evaluator was validated, and shipper refuses to pay, or even respond or acknowledge.TERRIBLE COMPANY. AVOID. There are reliable shippers out there. Wish we had used Mayflower or Bekins. You still get what you pay for.
If I could give negative stars I would. This place really knows how to screw you over. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We tried to cancel 2 weeks before moving because we found a cheaper alternative which would have helped us out financially. We were well within the time frame to get our deposit back. The guy we talked with was a real smooth talker and totally blew smoke up our butt about how he would lower our initial estimated price with a law enforcement discount so we wouldnt have to cancel and that it would be helping them out more than us. It was supposed to be a fixed rate meaning the price would stay the same no matter what but when they showed up to pick our stuff up, they wanted 3x the amount that was quoted and we didnt have anywhere near that amount. They tore up our contract and now refuse to refund our $500 deposit. Thank you Moving Pros Inc. for totally screwing over an already poor family out of even more money.
I used moving pros (reference number T8635232) for my move last month. They were great. My wife is very thorough in researching things and figuring out which companies to use once we get our bids. She did her homework on moving pros and felt they had the best value. They werent the lowest price but it was, in our opinion, reasonable. Everything from start to finish was above and beyond our expectations. We learned years ago that when it comes to service jobs, dont set too high expectations. My wife was hopeful based on all the DOT research she did that these guys were the real deal; I wasnt sold. Im glad to inform that the crew over delivered on what they told us. The customer service representative Edward was most pleasant. He told us the names of the crew that would be coming to our home on pick up. When Ibrahim, moa, and Alex arrived they got straight to work. They were very polite and always had a smile on their faces. I couldnt believe how strong they were too. They landed everything in the truck after blanketing it all and left our house. We didnt have to lift a finger. Great service moving pros. keeps up the good work.
My partner and i are very weary when it comes to hiring anybody in a service capacity. after trying to start the packing by ourselves we quickly changed our mind. moving pros offered peace of mind in that respect. they came in on short notice and got everything ready to be moved. i was a little upset they didnt offer a service where they pack a rental truck and we could drive. but the price they offered was still reasonable. Im just glad rajulio and i didnt have to do all the awful packing. also our dog gets anxiety so it was great for us to be able to attend to her while the movers did the work. i would recommend these guys for sure
I wouldnt recommend them for interstate shipping. The rep on the phone completely misquoted the entire project, including eliminating major pieces of furniture discussed & listing general furtinure pieces I dont even own. Due to this, it ended up costing us 3x what we were quoted. The rep also told us my things should arrive in 3-4 days. When the foreman arrived, he said between a week and a week & 1/2. When I call after a week to get an eta, the rep said their program calculates over a 750 miles distance (757 to be exact) which means a 7-14 business day delivery. Google maps says its only 716, which should be 3-7 days. When my stuff finally arrived, a lot was broken & furniture THEY took apart was missing pieces, i.e. screws needed to put it back together. (They used SO MUCH tape on EVERYTHING, but couldnt tape the screws to the furniture?) Also, be aware that the crew who loads/unloads may not actually work for the company. My unloader was a dude off the street who answered an ad off Craigslist. No background check & could have easily been casing my home.
Please dont fall for the trap I fell for. They are charming and approachable so I went with their company. The day of the move when I had no back-up option, they said I have to pay DOUBLE the agreed upon price. Then the movers bullied us into tipping a lot otherwise there are more fees we could charge. But whats worse is when the furniture arrived to a storage facility I checked later, my beautiful dining table was broken (3 out of 4 legs broken completely off), my side tables door was broken and the top of it broken off, the other side table is missing a leg, one of the dining chairs legs was broken off, broken side table, squished lamps destroying the lamp shades. In addition, there were numerous scratches, chipped off edges, etc. I had to throw away most of my furniture. I complained but they did not care, just made excuses. I wish I was exaggerating but have pictures of everything I mentioned upon request. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well.
Let me start by saying this company is a joke. What Im letting you know below isnt even everything.1500 and change for my quote, 336 cubic feet. Foreman tells me its going to be 500-800 square feet. I in depth acurrately described everything. Rest assured any quote you get is not accurate. How the hell can they miss a quote by DOUBLE? Their reason was my items dont stack up easily and evenly on the truck. That first quote is a sales gimmick. The formans job is to bump you when he gets their. I negotiated for 1 hour 1/2 like I was on a dirty used car lot.Sammy said they take care of contacting my building for moving to make sure they have the documents they need. That never happened, they showed up the first day without certificate of insurance. A company that has it together would check that sort of thing, even if it werent their responsibility before wasting their workers time sending them to a building they arent approved to enter yet. They say they dont use third party movers. Absolute lie. Third party movers showed up to deliver my furniture. When I mentioned it to them they were trying to avoid calling them third party by saying the have interlying agreements with these people. They are so stupid or they think Im so stupid to assume thats not third party. That is the definition of third party.Furniture arrived banged up. Everything was a disaster. The foreman who showed up to move originally needs to keep his mouth shut next time he thinks to make a comment about me being white guy and my Arab girlfriend. After making me pay 700 over the original quote the guy then asked me for tips on top of that because I got such a good deal.If youre thinking of using them, dont. Rent a uhaul and do it yourself or use a bigger company. Id rather ride an oxen wagon Oregon trail style and risk cholera then use Moving Pros Inc of NYC again.
Well, im going to try to keep this short and simple. They came late. They packed up things I said not to pack. We gave them a very detailed list with measurements and all, when they came to pick them up they said it’s going to double in price because things were bigger than expected. That’s a lie, since we have measurements. Our estimated total was 1,700 and it ended up costing us $5,000. It took about a week for them to get to the new house, so we were furniture less for a good 5 days. When they got here almost all of our boxes were smashed. And none of the box numbers or items matched up to the paper so we couldn’t tell what we were missing. THEN come to find out we have almost $3,000 worth of items missing. Even my BRIDESMAID DRESS for my sisters wedding. I guess I should have been smarter and brought everything valuable with me but then I would have had to move everything myself. I’ve never been so mad with any company before until now. I’m usually very lenient but this has gone way too far. They told me that I need to file a claim and I said no, you need to ask every customer that you delivered to before and after me and see if they have it. He goes “yeah? What would that do?” I was even shocked that he questioned me, a paying customer. SO now I’m told to call someone else and write down exactly what items and what prices they were HAHA. What a joke. They’ll be getting a call from my lawyer.
Don’t use this company for your move. It’s a scam. They charged me nearly double the value we agreed to in advance, lost our items and have refused to reimburse in any way. Details below…Hi, my name is Michael, and I’m married with a 15 month old little girl and another one on the way. We all know how this works. You read reviews, get quotes, talk to salesmen, make your choice and pray it works out for the best. We got 4 separate quotes for this move – and the estimated square footages were 1496, 1500, 1500 and 1750. We provided pictures of every square inch of the 1440 square foot house for the companies that cared to estimate based on pictures. The numbers all came in plus or minus 20% - and we did not go with the low-bidder because of the smooth talking salesman and the internet reviews. The number we agreed upon was $6,395 for a full complete move. Well, apparently the internet reviews were mostly from the same IP address, and the salesman, Sammy, is a liar. His boss, Ryan, is no better. The move started fairly well. The team straggled onsite, but 4 men ended up doing a good job of packing all of the items extremely carefully. Everything was triple wrapped. End of the job comes, and I tipped $10/hr per mover. Then comes the gut punch. Picture this – everything you own is loaded on an idling truck in your driveway, and the final total comes to $11,885. I went through all the emotions. Disbelief- this must be some sort of mistake. Anger- to be extorted with your own possessions. The bill is 86% higher than the original number – with no warning whatsoever. Well, after 2 hours of arguing with the dispatcher and the foreman, they gave me a discount – so now its only 60% higher than the quoted price.I work in the mechanical contracting business. I get that margins are tight, and it is never my goal to screw someone. But never in my wildest imagination have I considered handing the customer a bill for twice the number I told them I would do it for. I’d be out of business if I treated people that way, and should be.I’m sure they will give a different story in the comments section below. I know what I was promised. I know how I was treated. Now you do too.
TERRIBLE! I wish couldnt even leave a star. But I HAVE to to write a review. We received an awesome estimate packaged with another move only to find out it was DOUBLED! Movers said it was 500 sq feet ((wrote it on an envelope, then on the fee wrote 750!)) AND the movers ASKED for a tip!?! Talked to THIS company ((since the Initial fee was over the estimate)) he would knock the final fee down $200 bucks. OKAY. NOW at this delivery movers asked for THAT $200!!! Would not recommend....priced doubled and horrible people.
I picked moving pros because they were able to answer questions without giving me the sales pitch. i talked to so many movers that sounded like the salesman who stand at the kiosks at the mall. they wouldnt stop calling! Larry at moving pros was professional and straight to the point. he explained to me why they were better and didnt waste his time down talking his competitors (like the rest of them do). everything went smooth from start to finish and it couldnt have made my life easier. moving is the worst; these guys made it a little more manageable
Moving pros was the best. my sister lost her job and needed to move down to texas with us until she got back on her feet. her husband recently died and theres no way she could physically load a truck herself. we had a budget truck reserved and were looking to hire some labor for the day when we came across moving pros. after talking with sammy for a little we realized that it might just be better to let the professionals handle everything from start to finish. apparently not a lot of reputable companies will offer day labor so you get stuck hiring random people from craigslist. my sister has a lot of expensive items and craigslist people definitely werent an option. after learning this we just decided to contract
Honestly started out okay, and the price was cheap compared to other companies. However, they kept delaying the pick up time and I had to change my hotel reservations several times. They didnt end up coming until the morning after I was told theyd be there. I was also told theyd arrive at 7am, the driver slept in, and didnt get there until 11:30am. While loading up, they let my cat out of the bathroom where they knew he was and he got out!!! They thought he was gone. Luckily they found him behind the refrigerator. And after all this, it took them over 4 hours to load up when I was told it would be 2-3 hours. I didnt leave my apartment until 4:30pm and had to drive 6 hours to my first destination. This was all just during pick up!Apparently it will take 7 to 10 days for my things to arrive when on the phone in the beginning I was told 3-4.Bad experience. I will definitely use a different company next time.
We had no idea with this move. My son set everything up from start to finish. He called me one day and said “moving pros will be the one coming to your home next week”. I trust my son but honestly it’s hard to trabout what to expect ust anybody whos planning to come and pack everything you own. I have 30 years of memories in this house and I just wanted it to get done without any damages. Rabbi and Alex were the two foremen that came to the home to get everything started. They, along with their helpers, were so incredible. They went through everything and made sure nothing would get broken. They paid extra special attention to some of my most valuable items and I didnt have to ask twice. If you want movers who really care you should choose moving pros.
They are scammers, plain and simple. They will sweet talk you with sales reps, then they will arrive on the day of and demand MORE THAN TWICE the price you agreed, threaten to keep the security deposit if you don’t agree, bully you into tipping them a lot, AND destroy and/or lose your furniture. That is what happened to me. I regret ever using them
This company really does take your money damage your stuff and than disappears. My Aunt and uncle just just relocated to Florida. When I showed up the day after they dropped off my aunts stuff I could not believe my eyes. When she was crying to me on the phone and when My mother was telling me how bad the stuff was I did not think it was that bad. When I showed up I could not believe my eyes. Everything was damaged looked as tho her stuff was thrown on and off the truck. I tired to calm her down and tell her that this is a huge company THAT I helped her research and they would take care of her.... 4 Months later and THEY HAVE NOT DONE A THING do not even return her calls. Today she calls me crying that they sent her a shut up letter and offered $273 for 10,000 in damages WTH what is that. I really believed they would see all the pictures she provided and at least refund her what she paid to them. She lost so much more than that. MY MOTHER AND I had to put our money together to get her a mattress she has a bad back and was sleeping on hard floors.. We had to lend her money for the lost items and buy for her to buy her new appliances to get buy.. Everything is broke her tv has a ugly bang spot it is all a mess.. I dont ever post reviews I just do my research on companies and I cant believe this company has done this.. My aunt is having such bad anxiety and my Mom as well from dealing with this all. Stay away save your stress.... DO NOT BE TRICKED BY THESE GOOD REVIEWS THEY ARE FAKE I EVEN BELIEVED THE HYPE OF THESE REVIEWS. My family will be sharing their experience so we can warn everyone that is believing these good reviews. WE WERE THERE WE SEEN IT SHE SENT THEM PICTURES AND THEY DISAPPEARED.
We chose moving pros after getting bombarded with BS movers for three straight days. these guys were the absolute best. they came in and got everything done with speed and professionalism. the foreman anthony was a sweetheart and was always smiling. its hard to find good laborer these days- moving pros was great!
If I could put less than a one star review I would. Do not use this company at all.. They are frauds and they treat your stuff like garbage and then do not even respond to you. My wife placed a complaint on July 10th still no resolution no one will even call her back. We even went to bbb and they keep saying they will call her and they do not they dont care how bad drivers treat your items and will do nothing about it in the end. we placed a claim through the company they use that does not even have a phone number and today they had the nerve to send us a shut up letter for $273 when we have losses and damages totaling to over 10k. After our first complaint for the obvious damages and lost we could not even get them on the line to go over the stuff that was in boxes and damaged when we took them out my $3000 tv has a huge brown mark and they can not care to help.. EVERY ITEM ON THE truck was damaged, mattress dirty and destroyed lost items not one thing made it to us okay. This company is all about taking your money and when it gets to you damaged they will be no where to be found. This matter is by far not over we have placed agency complaint with the attorney general and I am going to be using my FREE JOB provided attorneys to take them to court. NOW instead of asking for a refund of what we paid we will be going for full cost of all we lost..
Now I have waited for over 2 months for my missing things. I have someone elses things. Some of my boxes have jewelry in them , how coincidental. I cant believe they can not find a cal king size mattress, 4 boxes, a 5 foot long chime.I do believe since they are paid they dont care. Also my boxes were handled so bad several things were broken, including the box itself.
Moved cross country and they lost over half my move. Terrible customer service, charged extra during the move. Totally unresponsive after my move was lost. Some of my stuff ended up in other states and had to be shipped back by other customers. The worst experience Ive ever had with movers.
Awesome service. I recommend them %100. I called them on Thursday and they had opening on Saturday. They gave me an estimate over the phone and it was very accurate. They called the day before and the day of delivery. My crew were very professional and friendly. Thank you so much, Im so glad that I found them.
I can confirm the stress of this company is outrageous they are fraud. Believe all the bad reviews and know the good ones are fake. NO WAY THEY IGNORE PEOPLE this way with out a care or a call and have so many good reviews. THEY DESTROYED all of Effies stuff and she provided proof and they did nothing to help. STAY AWAY MY STRESS LEVELS ARE AT A MAX I feel even worse for her.... EFFIE G See her review

2022-02-08If I could rate them any lower, I would. I moved a number of times and this was by far the worst experience ever. No coordination between the corporate folks who take your money and the crew who shows up at your house. They charged me double the estimated amount and wanted all the money upfront (in cash) before unloading anything from the truck. The crew leader lied and told me I could insure the move which I wasnt able to do as the movers were already at my house. So many items damaged, broken, and stolen. The workers were so lazy and dishonest. They just wanted to be done quickly and kept making excuses as to why certain items couldnt be packed, or how they were out of room, or it would cost extra to move it into an actual room of the house versus leaving it in the entry. My blood still boils just thinking about this experience.

2017-08-04I used Moving Pros for an inter-state move. I told the salesperson, Ed, every piece of furniture I had and the exact number of boxes. He gave me a so-called BINDING estimate of $2179, and I paid a deposit of $545. I also purchased a moving insurance. When I finished packing, I found that I was actually 20% under inventory. At that time, I felt pretty safe that horror stories -- like holding my stuff hostage and demanding more money -- would not happen to me, and how naive I was!On the pick-up day, the movers came with a Budget truck late afternoon. After they loaded everything, they told me I should pay for 50% more than the estimate. When I argued that I was 20% under inventory, they threatened to unload everything and leave. It was getting dark, and Moving Pros office was closed. I was stranded in the hostage situation all by myself. The negotiation process was extremely unpleasant. When I was on the phone with Ed or my husband, the movers threatened to leave for multiple times. They got onto the truck, rolled up the door, and posed to unload. I had to beg them to wait for a few more minutes to let me finish the phone call. They walked by me, shaking their head, and commented disparagingly, Chinese!By the end, I managed to lower the payment from $900+ more than the estimate to $150+ more. There was no explanation why they can drop the price by $750 in an hour. But this was not the end of the story. Per the method of payment on the contract, I gave them of a check of 75% of the payment, and was supposed to give the remainder 25% in cash at delivery. On the delivery day, the movers came with a Penske truck around 8:45 PM. This time they were not even wearing the Moving Pros t-shirt. They gave the check back to me, and asked for 100% payment all in cash before they even unloaded anything. I refused, and insisted on the agreed method of payment. They threatened to leave again... I ended paying the entire amount, while holding onto their drivers license until the delivery was complete. My advice is simply not to choose Moving Pros.1) Their binding estimate may be lower, but it does not have any binding power.2) The high deposit, different rental trucks, and changed method of payment are all red flags.3) Their review page is filled with either one-star or five-star reviews. The one-star reviews have details like quote and payment, pick-up and delivery, while the five-star reviews lack details as such. I will leave it to you to decide what this means.4) If you still think the one-star reviews are only low-probabibility mishappenings (as I did), please click on the profiles of the five-star reviewers on Yelp. You will find that some of them have reviewed multiple moving companies in a short period of time, and the moving companies that they reviewed are the same.

2017-09-04Is it possible to give a company negative stars or zero? I feel like one star doesnt do justice to how this company treats its customers or stands behind their estimate.Their employee severely underestimated the price of moving my items and the length of time it would take, presumably because they knew it was more likely they could secure my business that way. The total cost of the move with this company ended up being more than double the original estimate and delivery of my items took more than twice as long as I was originally told. The driver who dropped my items off refused to pull his truck into my parking lot (where it would have fit). Because the movers did not use my parking lot they had to walk further and the driver arbitrarily added $700 to the total I had to pay. Moreover, the driver said if I didnt pay that in cash right then he would leave my things on the street. Such high quality customer service!! I called the moving companys office to help me out with the driver but no one picked up so I had no option but to pay him the extra fee. When the movers finally did bring my things to my apartment they did not put together my bed-frame or table, which I had specifically asked them to do, and was required of them by contract. As if that werent enough, many items of mine (some of which cost over a few hundred dollars each) were broken or lost during the move. For some reason the driver refused to give me a receipt for the cash I gave him, which certainly seemed odd to me.Although my items were initially picked up 3 weeks ago and delivered last week, Moving Pros still has not responded to my complaints. At least their customer service is consistent.I cant even begin to describe to any potential future customers how strongly Id advise against using this agency. If a friend asks me what moving company to use I will tell them any company on the planet besides Moving Pros Inc.

2017-09-19If I could give them less than one star I would. We were moving out of state with the military and contacted Moving Pros. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very nice and we itemized everything in my 600sq ft apartment. They quoted us nearly $3,000. We felt like this was a steep price but figured it was due to being in NYC. The movers showed up 3 hours late in a Budget rental truck. They said they thought it would take 3 hours to pack up our apartment. We planned on starting our drive to our new place that same day so that would work out fine. The lead guy was incredibly rude and barely spoke English. After 3 hours at our apartment barely anything had been packed. At this point, just after 5pm on a Friday, the lead comes back to us and tells us that the price had changed and would cost us $6,000 to move our 600 sq ft apartment and they needed 75% of that paid immediately. We told them we could not do that and asked why the price increase...to which the lead replied that we had too much furniture. I told him Id itemized everything twice with customer service and was given the price of just under $3,000. I called customer service and was able to get in touch with he agent Id previously spoken with and told him what was going on. He advised that I tell the lead to load everything on the truck and he told me that customer service and I would resolve this later. I hung up and told the lead that my contact in customer service said to go ahead and pack everything up. The lead responded who is that?. I told him it was my contact from customer service...to which he replied Hes not here. Hes not in the boss. Im the boss. I kept trying to call customer service back to see if they would convince him to load everything on the truck...no answer...they were closed. He refused to put anything further on the truck. We begged that he add the boxes of our clothes a single dresser and our mattress. He agreed if we paid $4,800. We were quoted just under $3,000 and had to pay $4,800 and had to leave 90% of our furniture behind as well as kitchen goods, some clothes... It was absolutely heartbreaking. Because so much was left behind and because they took 8 hours instead of 3 we had to stay in NYC that night. They left just before 10:30pm. We slept on our floor surrounded by all the furniture wed have to leave behind. It was devastating. We had no spare money to pay anyone else to move our furniture and we had to leave the city to get to our destination. Finally on Monday I called customer service to tell them what happened and they gave us a credit of $500. $500 towards the remainder of what we had to pay. We had to leave our couch, bed frame, a dresser, a buffet.... thousands of dollars of furniture AND were charged $2,000 more than we were quoted and they offered us $500. When our things arrived the boxes were damaged- torn, smashed... We could not have had a worse moving experience. I strongly urge you to avoid this company like the plague - they were dishonest with us and took advantage of us.Summary:We had a 600 sq ft apartment and were quoted just under $2,800 and it would take 3 hours to pack the apartment. The reality was that they charged us $4,800 to move clothes and kitchen goods. 90% of furniture was left behind even though we had to pay extra and the boxes arrived damaged.

2017-12-26The first thing to note is the address that this company uses does not exists. I mailed them information and it was returned to be as address unknown. Secondly, the moving coordinator that worked with me was not honest. He promised me one day for my move, knowing full well that I had a flight to catch and lied to me about the pick up. I incurred charges on changing my flight. He NEVER apologized. On the day that my stuff was suppose to get picked up between 10am - 1pm, the movers showed up at 2pm. I was charged an extra $700 because the moving coordinator didnt calculate my items correctly.Fast forward, on the day my stuff was being delivered. The driver DEMANDS to get paid before anything comes off the truck. He ruined my hallway wall paper and doesnt deliver three [3] items that were on the inventory sheet. He wanted to give us a lamp that didnt belong to us because our lamp was not delivered.Moving is so stressful and when you hire a company to move you, all you want is outstanding customer service and your stuff to get moved from point A to point B.Moving Pros did not deliver. They lied to me on the front end, the customer service was awful and the delivery was extremely poor.Writing this review is not enough for me. Next is to report them to the Better Business Bureau.Do not use.

2017-10-28This company is completely dishonest, untrustworthy, and fraudulent. They are clearly con artists and dont operate a trustworthy business. PLEASE save yourself all of the hassles and find a different moving company.Heres my story:I had a move scheduled for 10/26 from 12-4 that was set up by Sammy. No one showed up on 10/26. We called and they claimed the truck broke down, etc. and we would be their first pickup in the morning between 10-1. Well, no one showed again. And AGAIN, no phone call - we had to call them. They claimed they couldnt get in touch with the foreman but would make sure they came by the end of the day.7 PM on 10/27 - the day before my husband is supposed to get on a flight at 6:35 AM to fly across the country so we can close on our new house - Tommy or Ryan - who knows at this point there have been so many different salespeople weve been dealing with! - says that the movers will get there first thing tomorrow and we will 100% be reimbursed for changing our flight. Well... you can probably guess how this turned out.No call from them and they never show up. I call and talk to Tommy, who tells me hell get in touch with the movers and call me back in 15 minutes. He calls back over 45 minutes later and tells me he cant reach them and hes just going to refund my deposit and cancel the move. I ask him what about the change fee and he says that they were going to do that as a discount to my move, so he cant actually reimburse it.At this point, Im livid. I have no movers, my stuff halfway across the country, a $350 change fee, and the hassle of dealing with these con artists. I cant believe a company like this is able to be in business! Please dont fall into the same trap I did. Find an honest company that actually cares about doing business properly; dont fall for their smooth-talking salesmen.

2017-10-31DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYI booked this company for a cross country move. The quote seemed reasonable and the sales associate seemed trust worthy. It all went downhill from the moment the crew arrived. The crew arrived late in the afternoon and hit my neighbors parked car while deciding where to park the truck. One of the three crew members was brand new and all three didnt seem to take very much care with my stuff. Definitely not the white glove service that is advertised on the website. My quote was $4K and the move ended up costing more than $10K. The truck was not large enough to load all of my items, so they had to return the next day to finish the job.Fast forward two months, I met the movers at my storage unit in my new city. Things seemed to be going smooth until it became obvious that not all of my items were on the truck. Many items were missing, including everything that the movers had come back to pick up on the second day. I immediately called Moving Pros and let them know via voice mail. Ryan called me back and let me know that they would look into it and get it all straightened out the following week. I fully expected to receive my missing items in the next few weeks.Fast forward to now, three months later. I still have not received my missing items. Upon further inspection of the items they did deliver, some of my boxes had been opened and numerous items are missing. I have been in contact with Ryan, Tommy, Charles, Sammy and Furat. All have given me conflicting messages, one told me they had my items, another told me they were missing and I should file a claim. The latest word was that my items have been located and that they would be shipped to me. Ryan was supposed to email me a list of the items that they had yesterday. Not surprisingly, I heard nothing.I filed a complaint with the BBB. I also filed a claim on my missing items, however by their own account the items are not missing. Moving Pros Inc. is holding my possessions hostage and refusing to deliver them to me. I have done everything short of getting a lawyer, which will be my next step.Do not use this company. They are evasive and dishonest. The only thing they are pros at is gaining your trust and taking your money. This has been the absolute worst customer experience of my life. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If they put as much time into helping their customers as they do into writing fake 5-star reviews, I would not be in this situation. All I want is for the remainder of my possessions to be delivered to me. It will not make up for the items that were stolen from my boxes, and it will not make up for the months of lies that I was subjected to, but at least I would have my items. Im hoping this review a) persuades any potential customers to choose another moving company and b) persuades Moving Pros Inc. to contact me with a date that my items will be delivered once and for all.

2018-04-27This company is a living nightmare. I received $123 from their liability company after their lost thousands of dollars worth of furniture and personal items.Problem #1. 0 tracking of items. Upon delivery, only brought 70% of our things, and brought in several boxes/items that were not ours. No idea where HUGE pieces of furniture are - everything is just gone.Problem #2. Broken items. Of the items that made it, several pieces had damage.Problem #3. Outsourcing. Youll notice a trend on these reviews of people complaining about 3rd party companies/rented trucks; they are all contractors, i.e. they dont care about you. You are LEGALLY ENTITLED to know the license numbers and contact info for all movers. Moving Pros never gave us this even after several requests so we could maybe track down our items. Nothing.Problem #4. They lie. Matt will tell you anything to sell you. Get anything in writing. After they tell you one thing, follow up with an email confirmation. I guarantee they will back-track. And Ryan wont care he lied - dont bother trying.Problem #5. They hold your items hostage when you dont want to pay absurd fees. If you do use this company, when they lose your items, because they will, please know you are not legally obligated to pay the full amount as quoted; however, youll need to sue them to get it because theyll completely ignore you otherwise.Other problems during our move:- Shuttle fee. It doesnt matter where you live - theyre going to hold your things hostage unless you agree to pay it. Dont believe Matt when he says you wont when hes trying to get your business.- Stairs fee. We carried everything down to the truck ourselves to avoid this, but the third party company (get ready for 2 completely random guys to show up) thats picking our stuff up had no idea how to handle that. We had to pay.- Failure to provide federally mandated legal documents. They never provided us with an arbitration program, a tariff, or any of the information of any of our movers. If you decide to go with this god-awful company and get screwed, you have a right to this info!- Literally will never call you, even if they say they will. If theyve massively messed up, you need to follow up. They just dont care.Enjoy your 6 month claims process and .60 cents/pound when they mess up.- People have talked about complaining to the FMSCA when theyve had problems - they are extremely nice and helpful people, but the reality is they cant force horrible movers like Moving Pros to do anything. Youre stuck once they overcharge or lose your stuff.TL;DR - They lost thousands of dollars worth of furniture and personal items, including damage to items that were delivered. They lie directly to you, dont provide legally required information, and could not care less about your happiness or satisfaction.I am happy to speak personally with anyone who would like more detail. This company has sucked so much of my time and money, Id love to return the favor.

2018-06-22They offered a meager $232 for about $4000 worth of lost possessions. What does it take to lose a queen mattress, queen bed platform, 5 large boxes filled with expensive clothes, ~20 pairs of shoes and electronics? How does one also lose an oversized carseat, a child’s playard, a diaper pail, a vinyl bag with photography lighting equipment, two comforters in bags, two curtain rods, two camping chairs, half a dozen shelves, a folded table and a poster tube? Just ask moving pros, they managed to lose all of the above, constituting a quarter of my small move – a one bedroom apartment minus most of the furniture, which I sold.Even what they did deliver came almost a month later than their guaranteed delivery time. I have been very patient with them, even went through their lengthy claims process, and after 4-5 months they added insult to injury with their tiny compensation. They don’t care about your hard earned money, nor will they show basic decency with a remotely fair reimbursement.Whether this egregious loss is from incompetence or dishonesty, this company should not be in the moving business. Michael, Tommy and Ryan will be nice and friendly on the phone, but they won’t find your belongings or even try to compensate you fairly. They will simply misdirect and stall, or ignore you altogether. It really is astounding that a company can “lose” so many possessions and only pay you 60 cents a pound for them. They even invent a story about extra fees for a shuttle to bring the items from the 18 wheeler that won’t fit in your small street. But of course there is no 18 wheeler, the drivers told me they drove the 26 foot rented budget truck straight from the warehouse to my home. They even tried to give me a few boxes that didn’t belong to me.My experience with moving pros has been, by far, the worst I have ever had with any company in any industry. I have started the process to officially report them to the better business bureau and other federal regulatory agencies. They should not be in business.

2020-07-26PLEASE DO NOT USED THIS COMPANY. If you want to save money please don’t go somewhere else. I spoke to Steve who give me an estimate and he was like oh you have a small move. I even showed him pictures of my small apartment. My wife looked at the reviews and told me not to and Steve was like “oh no you can’t look at the reviews, you guys have a small move and you should be fine. On the day of the move the mover give a revised amount $400 more. We had a bed, and a couch and 29 boxes. My advice to anyone who wants is to use a different company because the service overall is one of the worst I have experienced . Also i learn that numbers tells a story and from now on I will look at and listen to reviews.
